- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm trying. No, I am. I will yeah, I will succeed.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Matter of fact, already complete mission, all right, coming to
- 0:27Speaker 1: you live from Alta Monte Springs. Lord, this is the Ember,
- 0:30Speaker 1: show your host Ember. First and foremost, let's get into prayer, Lord,
- 0:33Speaker 1: Father that arts in heaven. I come to you in
- 0:35Speaker 1: prayer to be able to have the Holy Spirit, be
- 0:37Speaker 1: able to speak through the listener's ears and reach their
- 0:40Speaker 1: hearts and minds, and be able to apply these verses
- 0:42Speaker 1: to their lives and the Lord Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
- 0:45Speaker 1: So let's just jump right into Matthew chapter eleven. If
- 0:48Speaker 1: you want to go ahead and grab your bibles or
- 0:50Speaker 1: get on your bible lap and read along as you
- 0:53Speaker 1: hear along. I highly encourage you to be able to
- 0:56Speaker 1: soak up the word as much as possible. Amen. In
- 1:00Speaker 1: Matthew chapter eleven, this has been a lot about Jesus,
- 1:03Speaker 1: and I love the Gospel of Matthew, so this is
- 1:06Speaker 1: gonna be. Jesus talks about John the Baptist. Now, John
- 1:10Speaker 1: the Baptist is the one that baptized Jesus. So we're
- 1:13Speaker 1: in verse one. Let's go ahead. Jesus taught all these
- 1:17Speaker 1: things to his disciples, his twelve disciples. After he had finished,
- 1:22Speaker 1: he went away from that place. He went to the
- 1:25Speaker 1: towns near there to teach his message to people. So
- 1:29Speaker 1: once he had his disciples, this is when it was
- 1:33Speaker 1: time to go really spread the message because he also
- 1:36Speaker 1: had assistance. It wasn't just him in the human flesh
- 1:41Speaker 1: as the spitting image of God. He could have done
- 1:43Speaker 1: it all by himself, but he showed an example that
- 1:45Speaker 1: you need a group of people in order to fulfill
- 1:49Speaker 1: the mission. And when we get into verse two, at
- 1:52Speaker 1: that time, John the Baptist was in prison, but people
- 1:57Speaker 1: told him about all the things that Jesus the Messiah
- 2:01Speaker 1: was doing. So John sent some of his own disciples
- 2:04Speaker 1: to ask Jesus some questions. Verse three. They said to him,
- 2:09Speaker 1: John wants to know this. Are you the special people
- 2:14Speaker 1: that God has promised to send us? If not, should
- 2:17Speaker 1: we look for someone else. Here comes Jesus, and this
- 2:22Speaker 1: is Matthew. Chapter eleven. Verse four states Jesus replied, go
- 2:25Speaker 1: back to John, tell him what you have been hearing.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Also tell him what you have been seeing. Verse five.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Blind people can now see again. People who could not
- 2:36Speaker 1: walk can now walk again. People who had a bad
- 2:40Speaker 1: skin disease, are now well again. Deaf people now here again,
- 2:45Speaker 1: people who had died now live again. This is what
- 2:47Speaker 1: Jesus is telling him to go tell John, so John
- 2:50Speaker 1: could be like he can. Actually, it's not necessarily go
- 2:55Speaker 1: tell him what I've been doing, but tell him what
- 2:59Speaker 1: you have done. And seeing verse six, if anyone believes
- 3:03Speaker 1: in me and he does not turn away, he will
- 3:06Speaker 1: be truly happy. And taking this from my point of
- 3:10Speaker 1: view right now kind of away from the Holy Spirit, none,
- 3:13Speaker 1: no offense taken. And truthfully it's my show. I could
- 3:18Speaker 1: do that, but being as a follower of Christ over
- 3:22Speaker 1: just being a believer of the happiness that I've able
- 3:26Speaker 1: to obtain. It's more than just oh I'm happy. It's
- 3:33Speaker 1: a joy that is in my bones that no situation,
- 3:38Speaker 1: no person, no place, no thin can take away. And
- 3:41Speaker 1: it also says John's disciples went away again. Jesus spoke
- 3:47Speaker 1: to the crowd about John. He said to them, you
- 3:51Speaker 1: went out to the wilderness. What did you go there
- 3:55Speaker 1: to see? What is a tall piece of grass which
- 3:58Speaker 1: the wind was blowing the way? And that, no, you
- 4:03Speaker 1: did not go to see that? Verse eight. Did you
- 4:08Speaker 1: go to see a man who was wearing expensive clothing. No,
- 4:12Speaker 1: people like that do not live in the wilderness. See,
- 4:16Speaker 1: Jesus went off many times by himself, away from the disciples,
- 4:20Speaker 1: to go be able to pray and be more intimate
- 4:24Speaker 1: with God, his father. Now, when you were with your
- 4:30Speaker 1: significant other, when you're with somebody and you're telling them
- 4:33Speaker 1: personal information, it's more one on one conversation. Right, It's
- 4:38Speaker 1: the same concept with Jesus and being able to be
- 4:43Speaker 1: more in unity with his father by disconnecting. To reconnect
- 4:51Speaker 1: to his father, he had to get away from everybody.
- 4:53Speaker 1: He had to go in nature. He had to be
- 4:55Speaker 1: by himself. So they live in King's Great House. And
- 5:01Speaker 1: actually we already saying so verse nine, So what did
- 5:04Speaker 1: you go to see? Did you go to see a prophet? Yes,
- 5:09Speaker 1: But I tell you John was even more important than
- 5:13Speaker 1: a prophet. This is what someone wrote about him a
- 5:16Speaker 1: long time ago in the Bible. God said, listen, I
- 5:19Speaker 1: will send you someone to go in front of you.
- 5:22Speaker 1: He will speak my message. He will prepare a way
- 5:25Speaker 1: for you. Jesus is bragging on John right now because
- 5:29Speaker 1: he was there to baptize him and to open up
- 5:33Speaker 1: the heavens. Now, let's get deeper Jesus then said, I
- 5:36Speaker 1: tell you this, John the Baptist is greater than any
- 5:39Speaker 1: person who has ever lived until now. But now anyone
- 5:43Speaker 1: who belongs in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than John.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Even the least important of them is greater than he is.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So think about what John was placed to do, and
- 5:55Speaker 1: you it's amazing how much God has a place for
- 6:03Speaker 1: each and every one of us. Whether obviously it's in heaven,
- 6:06Speaker 1: if we choose to obey him here on earth and
- 6:08Speaker 1: be glorified with him in heaven. But it's more when
- 6:11Speaker 1: we have really accepted Jesus Christ as our world and
- 6:14Speaker 1: savior and being able to have that belonging right, belonging
- 6:24Speaker 1: to the Kingdom of Heaven. Let's get into it a
- 6:26Speaker 1: little deeper. Let me see, let me see. We're on time.
- 6:32Speaker 1: We're doing good. Okay, So we're on thirteen. From the
- 6:38Speaker 1: time that John the Baptist began to teach until now,
- 6:41Speaker 1: the Kingdom of Heaven is becoming very strong. Strong people
- 6:44Speaker 1: were trying to attack it. All of the prophets and
- 6:49Speaker 1: the books of the Law spoke God's message until the
- 6:52Speaker 1: time that John the Baptist came verse fourteen. The prophets
- 6:56Speaker 1: who wrote Elijah. They said he would come again to
- 7:00Speaker 1: prepare for the Messiah. They were writing about John, and
- 7:04Speaker 1: you should believe their message. This is verse fifteen, and
- 7:06Speaker 1: we'll get close to close on out. We'll go to
- 7:08Speaker 1: about seventeen. You have ears, so listen well to what
- 7:12Speaker 1: I say. There's a responsibility when we have ears and
- 7:15Speaker 1: when we have a voice, and when we have these
- 7:17Speaker 1: senses that we tend to take for granted, not necessarily granted,
- 7:21Speaker 1: but we just don't use them properly, right, And there's
- 7:26Speaker 1: a lot of there's a lot that it's the opposite
- 7:29Speaker 1: of that as well. We are definitely vessels and the
- 7:34Speaker 1: spirits run through us, and we have our own capabilities.
- 7:39Speaker 1: But I get when I'm speaking of this even deeper.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I go deep into these verses because it also spiderwebs me.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You know, when we're talking about John the Baptist being
- 7:52Speaker 1: such a high figure before Jesus came, you know, it's
- 7:56Speaker 1: something that when it's really interesting because it's like John
- 8:03Speaker 1: must have been a sinless pretty close to Jesus in
- 8:08Speaker 1: order for Jesus to be like, you know, because he's
- 8:12Speaker 1: a spitting image of God, Jesus the son of God,
- 8:15Speaker 1: so to be able to be baptized by John. I
- 8:19Speaker 1: mean's obviously God had favor on John before Jesus even came.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So we all have a purpose. That's really what I'm
- 8:26Speaker 1: trying to get to. You have ears, right, so listen
- 8:29Speaker 1: to this. Jesus said, I will talk to you about
- 8:32Speaker 1: the people who are alive today. They are like children
- 8:35Speaker 1: who are sitting in the marketplace. They're playing games and
- 8:38Speaker 1: they shout to other children. We made happy music on
- 8:41Speaker 1: a flute for you, but you did not dance. We sang,
- 8:46Speaker 1: and we sang a sad funeral song, but you did
- 8:50Speaker 1: not cry. People today are like those children. John the
- 8:53Speaker 1: Baptist did not eat ordinary food. Now, as we go
- 8:57Speaker 1: deeper into the Gospel of Matthew, I want to make
- 9:02Speaker 1: this clear. As I close out, the transitional periods of
- 9:09Speaker 1: these gospels can make you wonder if it's even possible
- 9:18Speaker 1: that these things happened right like these things were written down.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But you need to know that at this particular time
- 9:28Speaker 1: there was not a whole lot of laptops and computers.
- 9:33Speaker 1: At this time we had that we have it such
- 9:37Speaker 1: standards these days too. You know, we don't have to
- 9:40Speaker 1: write things but the disciples were literally writing things down
- 9:44Speaker 1: in books. And these are the gospels of Matthew, Luke John,
- 9:49Speaker 1: all these popular names that you hear, right, these are apostles.
- 9:54Speaker 1: These are the ones that witness Jesus. There are so
- 9:58Speaker 1: many that perly witness Jesus but can't write or even
- 10:05Speaker 1: talk about it, right. They're just so delivered from what
- 10:08Speaker 1: they've their disease or the miracle that Jesus did, or
- 10:13Speaker 1: just being able to see the Son of God in
- 10:18Speaker 1: flesh and see the miracles. I can only imagine what
- 10:20Speaker 1: that would do to people. It would either make them,
- 10:23Speaker 1: you know, frightened. They would also make them like, all right,
- 10:25Speaker 1: this guy is who he says he is right, there's
- 10:27Speaker 1: no in between, like you have to pick. And I
- 10:31Speaker 1: can only imagine how difficult that was for people back then.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I mean, it wouldn't be that hard for me. I'd
- 10:36Speaker 1: be all right, you know, because you it's not just
- 10:41Speaker 1: the way that Jesus said the words. It's how you
- 10:46Speaker 1: can tell that he genuinely meant those words. And I
- 10:51Speaker 1: follow that in every conversation that I try to have
- 10:56Speaker 1: with people. I'm not the best at it. I am
- 10:59Speaker 1: also in recovery, but at the end of the day,
- 11:02Speaker 1: I am on the right path, the narrow path of
- 11:05Speaker 1: following Christ by not only just doing these Bible studies
- 11:08Speaker 1: and sharing my testimony, but actually being able to go
- 11:12Speaker 1: and worship Jesus and be able to also pray and
- 11:16Speaker 1: be able to make it to where I spend most
- 11:21Speaker 1: of my days focused on Him, because if I don't,
- 11:24Speaker 1: and if I don't focus on my recovery, then I'm
- 11:26Speaker 1: focusing on what I used to do, whether that's drinking,
- 11:30Speaker 1: using listening to certain music, doing certain things, going to
- 11:34Speaker 1: certain places. So the things that I do in my
- 11:37Speaker 1: wilderness season, being able to, as I say, put the
- 11:40Speaker 1: work in is completely transforming me. And it's periods of
- 11:46Speaker 1: months that there is a lot of change that takes place.
- 11:50Speaker 1: It's not necessarily day by day like in a program.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Where I'm at now, I honestly have the capacity to
- 11:57Speaker 1: know how much I can do in a month and
- 12:00Speaker 1: what I can accomplish, either it's financially and mentally, physically,
- 12:04Speaker 1: spiritually and exactly with my career. Whatever I might choose
- 12:10Speaker 1: to have in store for the Ember show is completely different.
- 12:15Speaker 1: You never know what God's plans are. It can be
- 12:17Speaker 1: a complete three sixty. So I don't want to put
- 12:20Speaker 1: too much empacy or too much power on this episode,
- 12:24Speaker 1: but I really highly encourage you to stick around. I'm
- 12:27Speaker 1: not going to anywhere anytime soon, because I enjoyed doing
- 12:32Speaker 1: these podcasts, and fifteen minutes is more than enough to
- 12:36Speaker 1: be able to cover fifteen verses. And the way that
- 12:41Speaker 1: some of these episodes go, you'll hear some music, and
- 12:43Speaker 1: that's what you're about to do right now. This is
- 12:45Speaker 1: the Ember Show, and this is one of my freestyles
- 12:48Speaker 1: that I uploaded on my phone, and it is very,
- 12:52Speaker 1: very dear to me. Thank you for a personal to playing.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I remember, God loves you best, but I gotta tell
- 12:59Speaker 1: you I'm less, actually am more. And yes the pain
- 13:04Speaker 1: was sore, but what I got from it is like, yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 1: he was knocking at my door and I really ignored.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Now I'm really in this parking lot, really talking about Yes,
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'm really spitting hot fire because I can't stop real talk.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I love her. She is my significant other. You don't understand.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I'm taking care of whether my brother, my mother, So
- 13:33Speaker 1: I need to hold the spirit each and every day.
- 13:35Speaker 1: A lot of people, man, they don't even know what
- 13:36Speaker 1: to say, so they really just go off what they heard.
- 13:40Speaker 1: A lot of LEF people, they really need to be cured.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And I'm real living the like it. It's not going
- 13:45Speaker 1: to be the weed. It's not going to be the pills.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now. I live full the thrill.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And I thought all those things would take her away.
- 13:54Speaker 1: And I'm talking about the pain and I'm talking about
- 13:56Speaker 1: tempo really fixes. I know when you drink them spirits,
- 14:00Speaker 1: it's yeah, they take it to a whole nother dimension.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But it's not gonna be where you really want to
- 14:04Speaker 1: find peace. Huh. Yeah, I really want to be on
- 14:08Speaker 1: a lake. I really want to be like, man, where
- 14:11Speaker 1: is my pace? Where is my breeze? Let me just
- 14:14Speaker 1: get some coffee or some tea, and let me be
- 14:17Speaker 1: thankful for life because it can be taken away from
- 14:21Speaker 1: me
