  this week we're going to talk about guardian angels.

  I know a lot of people, even people who aren't particularly

  religious, are always fanciful of the idea of having guardian
• 0:18
  angels. And what better way to learn

  about guardian angels than when? The Urantia Book, Paper 113,
• 0:24
  which is the paper we'll go over today.

  We'll talk about what they do, how they operate, how they
• 0:29
  function and who they serve and for what reason.
• 0:33
  And it's an incredible read from Paper 113, so we'll get to that.

  There are a couple of big events that are coming up this

  So in just a second, we'll delve into Paper 113 and we'll have a

  wonderful time exploring the world of Guardian Angels.

  If you are familiar with the Orancha book, you're most likely
• 2:38
  already familiar with the varying levels of angelic
• 2:42
  helpers that we have, and essentially they are the
• 2:45
  offspring of the divine spirit. So think of the corollary of two
• 2:50
  kinds of entities, personality beings.
• 2:53
  You've got those who are the offspring or the descendant of
• 2:58
  the father, and then you have a parallel group that are the
• 3:01
  offspring of the infinite spirit.
• 3:03
  And it is there that we learn from the Oranche book about the
• 3:07
  different levels and the different experiences and the
• 3:10
  abilities. Not all angels are the same,
• 3:13
  some have innate abilities. We know also that they always
• 3:16
  work in pairs, and that very rarely do we have an opportunity
• 3:20
  in our mortal life, have an opportunity to meet them.
• 3:24
  But the Urantia book writers wanted us to become more
• 3:27
  familiar with angels, and so they dedicated chapters upon
• 3:32
  chapters to their work and what they're related to.
• 3:35
  And and not all of Seraphim work with humans.
• 3:39
  Some have other destinies. And so let's pick up from paper
• 3:42
  113 where it talks about what guardian angels are and what
• 3:46
  guardian angels do for us. We pick up from Section 4, which
• 3:52
  is entitled The Seraphim Domains of Action.
• 3:55
  The Guardian Seraphim are not Mind, though they do spring from
• 3:58
  the same source that also gives origin to mortal mind.
• 4:02
  The creative Spirit Seraphim are mind stimulators.
• 4:06
  They continually seek to promote circle making decisions in human
• 4:10
  mind. They do this not as does the
• 4:13
  Adjuster or the Spirit fragment operating from within and
• 4:17
  through the soul, but rather from the outside inward working
• 4:21
  through the social, ethical and moral environment of human
• 4:25
  beings. Seraphim are not the divine
• 4:28
  adjuster lure of the Universal Father, but they do function as
• 4:31
  the personal agency of the ministry of the Infinite Spirit.
• 4:37
  Mortal man subject to his Spirit Adjuster leading is also
• 4:40
  amenable to seraphic guidance. So not all are you influenced by
• 4:45
  the Spirit of the Father in within, but also from the
• 4:48
  Seraphim or the Guardian Seraphim on the external
• 4:52
  outside. The Adjuster is the essence of
• 4:55
  man's eternal nature. The Seraphim is the teacher of
• 4:59
  man's evolving nature, and this the mortal mind and the next the
• 5:04
  morontious soul. On the mansion worlds you will
• 5:07
  be conscious and aware of Seraphic instructors, but in the
• 5:11
  first life, men and women are usually unaware of them.
• 5:15
  Seraphim function as teachers of men by guiding the footsteps of
• 5:20
  the human personality into paths of new and progressive
• 5:23
  experiences. To accept the guidance of a
• 5:26
  seraphim rarely, rarely means attaining a life of ease.
• 5:31
  In following this leading, you are sure to be to encounter and
• 5:35
  if you have the courage to traverse the rugged hills of
• 5:39
  moral choosing and spiritual progress.
• 5:42
  So here it delineates that a challenging life is a life that
• 5:47
  teaches you your greatest lessons.
• 5:49
  A life of ease does not. The impulse of worship largely
• 5:54
  originates in the spirit promptings of the higher mind
• 5:58
  adjutants reinforced by the leading of the adjuster.

  Many times you've been taking a walk and you notice a
• 6:05
  particularly beautiful sunset and it maybe gives you the
• 6:08
  desire to give thanks that maybe the Seraphima nearby who was
• 6:14
  calling her attention in some way.
• 6:18
  But the urge to pray so often experienced by God conscious
• 6:21
  mortals very often arises as a result of seraphic influence.
• 6:26
  The Guardian Seraphim is constantly manipulating the
• 6:29
  mortal environment for the purpose of augmenting the cosmic
• 6:33
  insight of the human ascender to the end that such a survival
• 6:37
  candidate may acquire enhanced realization of the presence of
• 6:41
  the indwelling and gesture spirit, and thus be enabled to
• 6:45
  yield increased cooperation with the spirit mission of the Divine
• 6:49
  Presence. While there is apparently no
• 6:53
  communication between the indwelling fragment, the
• 6:56
  Adjuster, and the encompassing Seraphim, they always seem to
• 6:59
  work in perfect harmony and exquisite accord.

  The guardians are most active at those times when the ingestors
• 7:08
  are least active, but their ministry is in some manner
• 7:12
  strangely correlated. Such superb cooperation could
• 7:17
  hardly be accidental or incidental.

  The ministering personality of the guardian seraphim, the God
• 7:25
  presence of the indwelling adjuster, the encircuited action
• 7:29
  of the Holy Spirit, and the sun consciousness of the Spirit of
• 7:32
  truth are all divinely correlated into a meaningful
• 7:36
  unity of spiritual ministry in and to a mortal personality.

  Though hailing from different sources at different levels and
• 7:45
  at different levels, these celestial influences are all
• 7:49
  integrated in the enveloping and evolving presence of the Supreme
• 7:54
  Being. In Paper 113, Section 5, we read
• 8:01
  about the seraphic ministry to mortals.
• 8:04
  Angels do not invade the sanctity of the human mind.
• 8:07
  They do not manipulate the will of mortals.
• 8:11
  Neither do they directly contact with the indwelling adjusters.
• 8:15
  The guardian of destiny influences you in every possible
• 8:18
  manner consistent with the dignity of your personality.
• 8:23
  Under no circumstances do these angels interfere with the free
• 8:27
  action of the human will. Neither angels, nor any other
• 8:31
  order of universe personality have power to or authority to
• 8:35
  curtail or abridge the prerogatives of human choosing.
• 8:41
  Angels are so near you, and care so feelingly for you, that they
• 8:46
  figuratively quote weep because of your willful intolerance and
• 8:51
  stubbornness. End Quote.

  Seraphim do not shed physical tears.
• 8:56
  They do not have physical bodies, neither do they possess
• 8:59
  wings, but they do have spiritual emotions, and they do
• 9:03
  experience feelings and sentiments of a spiritual
• 9:07
  nature, which are in certain ways comparable to human
• 9:10
  emotions. The Seraphim act on your behalf
• 9:14
  quite independent of your direct appeals.
• 9:17
  They are executing the mandates of their superiors, and thus
• 9:21
  they function regardless of your passing whims or changing moods.
• 9:26
  This does not imply that you may not make their task either
• 9:30
  easier or more difficult, but rather that angels are not
• 9:33
  directly concerned with your appeals or with your prayers in
• 9:37
  the life of the flesh. The intelligence of angels is
• 9:39
  not directly available to mortal men.
• 9:42
  They are not overlords or directors, they are simply
• 9:46
  guardians. The Seraphim guard you.
• 9:50
  They do not seek directly to influence you.
• 9:53
  You must chart your own course, but these angels then act to
• 9:57
  make the best possible use of the course you have chosen.

  They do not ordinarily or arbitrarily intervene in the
• 10:05
  routine affairs of human life, but when they receive
• 10:09
  instructions from their superiors to perform some
• 10:12
  unusual exploit, you may rest assured that these guardians
• 10:16
  will find some means of carrying out these mandates.

  They do not, therefore, intrude into the picture of human drama,
• 10:24
  except in emergencies and then usually on the direct orders of
• 10:28
  their superiors. They are beings who are going to
• 10:32
  follow you for many an age, and they are thus receiving an
• 10:35
  introduction to their future work and personality
• 10:39
  association. It's interesting because they'll
• 10:42
  they'll learn to work with us in this life, and then the same
• 10:46
  seraphim will be with us in the next life and the next working
• 10:49
  with us, becoming our best friends, really.
• 10:52
  I mean, they really are our best friends and we we're not even
• 10:56
  conscious of them in this life. But rest assured, in the next
• 10:59
  life you'll have the opportunity not only thank them, but to help
• 11:03
  them. Final paragraph from this

  section or this paper. Seraphim are able to function as
• 11:09
  material ministers to human beings under certain
• 11:12
  circumstances, but their actions in this capacity is very rare.

  They are able, with the assistance of the midway
• 11:19
  creatures and the physical controllers, to function in a
• 11:23
  wide range of activities in behalf of human beings, even to
• 11:29
  make actual contact with mankind.

  But such occurrences are very unusual.

  In most instances, the circumstances of the material
• 11:39
  realm proceed unaltered by seraphic action, although
• 11:43
  occasions have arisen involving jeopardy to vital links in the
• 11:47
  chain of human evolution in which seraphic guardians have
• 11:51
  acted and properly on their own initiative.

  Section 6. Guardian Angels after death,
• 11:59
  having told you something of the Ministry of the Seraphim during
• 12:02
  natural life, I will endeavor to inform you about the conduct of
• 12:06
  the guardians of destiny at the time of the mortal dissolution
• 12:10
  of their human associates. Upon your death, your records,
• 12:15
  identity specifications, and the Morontia entity of the human
• 12:19
  soul conjointly evolved by the Ministry of mortal Mind and the
• 12:23
  divine Spirit fragment, the Adjuster are faithfully
• 12:26
  conserved by the destiny Guardians, together with all
• 12:30
  other values related to your future existence.
• 12:33
  Everything that constitutes you, the real you, except the
• 12:37
  identity of continuing existence represented by the departing
• 12:42
  spirit fragment and the actual and the actuality of
• 12:45
  personality. The instant the pile of light in
• 12:48
  the human mind disappears, the spirit luminosity, which
• 12:52
  Seraphim associate with the presence of the spirit fragment
• 12:54
  Adjuster, the attending Angel reports in person to the
• 12:58
  commanding angels successively of the Group Company, Battalion,
• 13:02
  Unit, Legion and Host. And after being duly registered
• 13:05
  for the final adventure of time and Space, such an Angel
• 13:09
  receives certification by the planetary chief of Seraphim for
• 13:13
  reporting to the Evening Star or other Lieutenant of Gabriel.

  They have to work through a a chain of command.
• 13:20
  It's it's very much like the military the way they have
• 13:23
  angels set up. If you notice these are words
• 13:26
  that you might find associated like military service because
• 13:29
  you have group, company, battalion, unit, legion and
• 13:33
  host. And these all represent varying
• 13:35
  degrees of angelic levels really.
• 13:39
  And with these varying levels comes responsibility and
• 13:43
  authority. I go into great detail on this
• 13:46
  in my first book. And finally it says, And upon
• 13:49
  being granted permission of from the commander of this highest
• 13:53
  organizational unit, such a guardian of destiny proceeds to
• 13:57
  the first mansion world. And there awaits the conscious
• 14:00
  sizing of her former ward in the flesh.

  That would be you and me. So in paper 14, which is the
• 14:07
  subsequent paper to the one we've just been reading, it
• 14:10
  reads in the very beginning of as to what we're talking about
• 14:13
  here, in terms of sheer numbers, the most highs rule in the
• 14:17
  kingdoms of men through many celestial forces and agencies,
• 14:22
  but chiefly through the ministry of Seraphim.

  At noon today, the roll call of planetary Angels, Guardians, and
• 14:30
  others on our world, Urantia was 501,234,619 pairs of Seraphim,
• 14:40
  this writer of this particular paper writes There were assigned
• 14:44
  to my command 200. Seraphic hosts 597,000,000,
• 14:50
  196,800 pairs of Seraphim, or 1.194 billion, 393,600
• 15:01
  individual angels, so that's about almost one seventh of the
• 15:05
  human population, they go on to say.

  The registry, however, shows 1.002 billion individuals
• 15:13
  registered, but 191,000,000 angels were absent from this
• 15:17
  world on different forms of duty, including transport,
• 15:22
  messenger and death duty. And then it paraphrases on
• 15:27
  Urantia, there are about the same number of cherubim as
• 15:30
  seraphim, and they are similarly organized.

  So they're saying we have not only over a billion seraphim,
• 15:37
  but we also have a billion cherubim.

  Seraphim and their associated cherubim have much to do with
• 15:44
  the details of the superhuman government of a planet,
• 15:47
  especially of worlds which have been isolated by rebellion.

  The angels, ably assisted by the midwayers, function on Urantia
• 15:55
  as an actual super material ministry who execute the
• 16:00
  mandates of the resident Governor General and all the
• 16:03
  associates and subordinates. Most definitely the most highest
• 16:08
  rule in the kingdoms of men. And there is a good example of
• 16:12
  the depth that the Urania book provides.
• 16:16
  We learn all about the angels in our own religious upbringing,
• 16:19
  but the Urania book takes it a step further and goes into much
• 16:22
  more specificity as to what these angels do and why, and
• 16:27
  also where they come from and how they are assembled and how
• 16:31
  they are divided for labor. And that concludes this
• 16:33
  particular chapter. We may continue on and get into
• 16:37
