- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning.
- 0:29From the chicken coop. So the word delightful.
- 0:33If I said the word delightful to you, what do you think about?
- 0:36It's funny to me how certain words bring up certain things.
- 0:40And I was talking to a client and she said I need a new set of
- 0:43words to actually start helping me think about situations rather
- 0:49than just using the same words that I use which seem to
- 0:52irritate me when I use them. And I said, well give me an
- 0:54example. And we went through this whole
- 0:56thing and she goes, well, often I'll just be like it's okay and
- 0:59and I don't mean it's okay. Like it's really not OK or I'll
- 1:03say things like, oh that's good. But I just can't stand using
- 1:07that word good anymore. So I want to come up with
- 1:10different words. So as we started playing with
- 1:12this, one of the things that you know, I again, I just love words
- 1:17and I love how they have different triggers in US and
- 1:20they have different things that they they bring to us in a
- 1:25moment's notice. It's just like a nanosecond.
- 1:27You say a word and you know there are certain words you say
- 1:30to a person and they lose their mind immediately.
- 1:33And then there are other words where they melt.
- 1:35It's just like watching butter in a microwave melt.
- 1:37It's just like they hear a word and they're just like, oh, right
- 1:39away everything softens. So as we were thinking about
- 1:43these new words, we tried to come up with something that
- 1:47would make it easier for her. And and it's kind of funny how
- 1:50it played out. But three words came to play.
- 1:53The first one was delightful. Instead of saying it's good,
- 1:56we're looking for things that are delightful.
- 1:58I and I thought, that is such a fun word.
- 2:00I never use that word. I don't say, oh that's
- 2:02delightful. I just don't use it.
- 2:05And I thought, I don't know why I don't use it.
- 2:07It's available to me. I'm just not using it.
- 2:09I wish I did. So we both started laughing
- 2:12about how that word was so simple and so easy and like, OK,
- 2:15delightful is a word we can use. Great.
- 2:18Second was unpleasant. That is unpleasant.
- 2:22Now, this is a much harsher word to me than it was to her.
- 2:27I don't like to use the word unpleasant unless I actually
- 2:30mean it, because it is something that anchors in me a different
- 2:36way. But I understand for her it was
- 2:38OK. So she's like, OK, I'm going to
- 2:40use unpleasant. I don't want to go there.
- 2:42It's unpleasant because if someone said to me I don't want
- 2:44to go there, it's unpleasant. I would be thinking, Oh my gosh,
- 2:47this place must be like a dungeon.
- 2:48Why would you say it's unpleasant to her?
- 2:50It was not nearly as harsh, but you know it, it was definitely
- 2:55something that affected her. So we, as we were deciding she
- 2:59was going to keep that word, I said, I don't know that I'm
- 3:01going to use the word that word that much more because unless I
- 3:04mean it now, the third word, neutral.
- 3:06This is for I could care less, you know, like, do you want to
- 3:09go to Mexican food tonight? I'm neutral on that, and I
- 3:13actually love using that word. Do I use it a lot?
- 3:17I don't think so, until we started talking about it.
- 3:20But I do like the word because it is very, very clear.
- 3:25There's no ambiguity in it. It's it's very concise and
- 3:28neutral. I could go either way, you know
- 3:32it. It's very simple.
- 3:33For her, that was a much harder word to adapt because she heard
- 3:38it and she was like, well, that must mean that I just don't
- 3:41care. And in her head, I don't care
- 3:44meant a bad thing. And to me, it's not a bad thing,
- 3:49It's just a fact. I don't care either way.
- 3:52So I want you to start to contemplate this because when
- 3:56you're boiling the ocean down and you're trying to say, OK, I
- 4:00I'm going to break my patterns and I'm going to look for some
- 4:03different ways, different words, different incorporations that I
- 4:06can do to kind of isolate and give myself choices.
- 4:10It's important to recognize what they mean to you.
- 4:14It's important to recognize what words mean to you.
- 4:17And for me, like I said, oh, I don't know that I'm going to be
- 4:20using unpleasant a lot. I mean, is it unpleasant?
- 4:24Maybe. But it's going to have to be
- 4:25pretty unpleasant for me to use the word unpleasant.
- 4:29This is something that you have to dig into and find your right
- 4:34words for you. But we were talking about
- 4:36something specific where how can we start to look at the world
- 4:40and categorize it quicker to break down her patterns.
- 4:44So we're delightful, unpleasant, or neutral.
- 4:49But you can come up with any 3 words that you want.
- 4:52But I would suggest that you start looking at things and you
- 4:55can actually have 5 words. You could have 10 words.
- 4:58It started a whole new realm of possibilities to open up all
- 5:03these different new words for her.
- 5:05So I'm talking about getting your list together, whether it's
- 5:09351020, I don't care. But get some new words together
- 5:13that you want to incorporate into your life.
- 5:15Start trying to figure out which ones feel right to you.
- 5:19Like I absolutely love using that word.
- 5:22Delightful because it feels fun. It feels just, I want delightful
- 5:28experiences. It's kind of like when someone
- 5:31says I have to get scrappy. Oh, that's another word that I
- 5:33love. That means I really have to
- 5:35think this through. I have to pull up my bootstraps.
- 5:38I've got to get, like, in the thick of it.
- 5:40I've got to get, you know, down and dirty into something.
- 5:43I love that. It's such a good word for me.
- 5:46So figure out what are your good words, Start using them.
- 5:49Get your new vocabulary list together and get going.
- 5:52All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I'll
- 5:55see you tomorrow. Bye.
