- 3:14She is one of those people that I should follow, but bad Trees
- 3:19needs to do better. But yo, her books are awesome. This book
- 3:23right now already has nine five stars, y'all. That's it ain't even at
- 3:31old, okay, because it's a fairly new one. I mean, the
- 3:36book came out. Let's see, what is this twenty twenty four? Is
- 3:44that January might be January February twenty twenty four, so this is a fairly
- 3:47new read. But you know my deal, an old book is always a
- 3:52new book to anyone because not everyone has read every book. Okay. So
- 3:57I'm going to bring up author Tasha Rights. Come on up, girly,
- 4:01come on, come on, come on, hey now how are you.
- 4:09I am wonderful. So first, welcome, welcome, thank you, thank
- 4:15you. So y'all were talking earlier. I'm a Charleston, she's in Florida,
- 4:21so we all, both of us are having these heat issues. So
- 4:27how bad is the heat where you are? Girl? The last few days
- 4:30it has been in the hundreds like now. I think today was like ninety
- 4:34six, so it's hot. I think today was supposed to go up to
- 4:40ninety nine, ninety somewhere in the upper nineties. I have not left my
- 4:45house. No, I'm sorry. My air conditions are just kicked back on
- 4:48again. Thank you. The name of Jesus do HEAs you? But your
- 4:57books kind of have that same effect on me. Oh now, so we're
- 5:01gonna have to talk about this book famous in In. I say, you
- 5:09sure are okay. But first, before we get to Anika, we got
- 5:13to find out about miss right. So tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 5:17Well, I am an author. I've been an author since twenty twenty
- 5:20two. In April, I broke out with my first book, which is
- 5:26The Coalkeepers Each Side a which is a ten book, good literature street book,
- 5:34and I have five more that I've already released, So there's a total
- 5:39six out there already and we're still working so we are almost done. Cool.
- 5:47But I'm I'm a writer, I'm a poet. I also have romance
- 5:54books out. I have an erotic book out that we talked the last time
- 5:58about, which is strong addiction, and I'm this is considered a romance book,
- 6:03So Favors is a romance book. I have another one out called Mind
- 6:06of a Writer, and that one will uh, it'll be next week.
- 6:14It'll be free on Amazon. So if you have not read any books from
- 6:18me, I have two books that will be free next week. It's going
- 6:24to be part of a book event, but it will be free on Amazon
- 6:27as well. Let's see. I am a mother, I'm a wife.
- 6:31I have two kids. I have a fifteen year old and I have a
- 6:34twenty well about to be twenty two years old next month. Yes, girl,
- 6:46cheap bulls want to talk about you got a baby there? Oh yes,
- 6:50ma'am twenty two. She'll be twenty two on the second of July.
- 6:55What happy birthday, sweetheart. Yes, So that's about it. I have
- 7:00a total eleven books out. Let me say that I have eleven books out
- 7:05and more to come. I have a few more books I'm releasing this year,
- 7:10and I decided, like about a month ago that I would be really
- 7:14sing a book every month next year. So yeah, okay, So I'm
- 7:23seeing all these genres that you are walking over. Okay, so I'm hearing
- 7:27romance, I'm hearing erotica, and I'm here in Street. Out of those
- 7:31three, which is your favorite to write and why my favorite to actually write
- 7:40is probably a romance. I just discovered that too recently. I have been.
- 7:45When I started two years ago, I was just kind of just you
- 7:47know, writing, and I wasn't sure which one I was comfortable with or
- 7:51which genre I like more. I love her books, so I came alive.
- 7:57That's why I got six of them out already. But I see myself
- 8:01growing, and so with growth, I'm seeing a development in my writing.
- 8:07And I seem to enjoy writing romance novels. I love relationships, and I'm
- 8:15also a poet, so with being a poet and I call myself a hopeless
- 8:20romantic, then my books are starting to reflect that as well. So I
- 8:24think that's where we're going to be headed in my new season. Because I
- 8:28just had a birthday last week, so this will be my new season going
- 8:31forward. Well, a happy birthday. Happy birthday, So I'm gonna be
- 8:35a little nosyday June seventh. Okay, Well, I don't do too aren't
- 8:46too much and nothing. I went to the movies. I did see Bad
- 8:48Boys. I was good. I went out to the speech, kind of
- 8:52hung out a little bit, and I got some dinner. My family treat
- 8:56me dinner. What I do, just relaxed. I didn't do too much
- 9:01and nothing. I just wanted to be outside because I'm always indoors writing all
- 9:05the time. How you think I got all these let the books went outside
- 9:07too much, so I had become you know, inside, So now it
- 9:11was time to go outside. I took a little break. So I went
- 9:13out outside for a minute and just kind of, you know, enjoyed life
- 9:16a little bit. And then I came back. So so all these books,
- 9:24now we're talking by favor Missinka. Now, I have never read a
- 9:28book that had an entrepreneurship as in hair products and beauty products. That's the
- 9:41first. I've always read books where she's a hairstylist, or she's a model,
- 9:48or she real estate. That's another one that's popular in the African American
- 9:56books sector. So what in the world will give us their products in the
- 10:01skin line? Where did that come from? Well, my husband, he's
- 10:07an entrepreneur slash hustler. We just don't put it out there. He gonna
- 10:13kill me for this too. So so he is constantly in stuff like trying
- 10:18to do something, getting something going all the time. And he came up
- 10:22with an idea of this company for us to do together. He was going
- 10:28to, you know, get these skin line products and he was going to
- 10:31actually introduce them to all of you and we were going to get this line
- 10:37started. So this is funny, and this is how this story. That's
- 10:41how I got the name for her product line, which is called in Coslows,
- 10:45because we were trying to think of a name of the product line,
- 10:46and that's what it was. But we set on it and we hadn't really
- 10:50used it. So I was writing this book and I thought about a position
- 10:56for Anika, and I said, you know what she needs to be online
- 11:00influencers, slash ball slash I need something that is uh that will make her
- 11:07that on that level and to the point where she's getting she's like, you
- 11:11know, constantly wondering about what's going on having her input and everything, and
- 11:16so I asked my husband, I said, are you okay if I use
- 11:20the namest cosmos that's her product line, and he was like, I don't
- 11:24care. You know you don't care. So I said, all right,
- 11:26So I put it on there and that's how she came about. But it's
- 11:31something because I know in social media, health and beauty is probably top tier
- 11:35tiers as far as everything. So I definitely wanted to make her to point,
- 11:41especially with all the things that she does in this book, I have
- 11:43to make sure that she has enough paper to do the things that she wants
- 11:48to do. She's on her way to a billionaire status. That you mean
- 11:52enough paper book? Yeah, her product seems like Anita is having the same
- 12:01problem that everybody else is having, that trying to find a man problem.
- 12:09Tell us a little bit about Anita and where where she's going with trying to
- 12:20find a man. Don't give away the book now, don't do that,
- 12:24but trying to help myself that need a man maybe we can have all right,
- 12:28Well, so miss Anka her problem she's had. She has dated men
- 12:37previously, but she has the problem that, like you said, the other
- 12:39woman have where he's not all the way complete. It's always something missing,
- 12:46and she is upset about it, and she making too much money for her
- 12:50not to have all the things that she wants. And so miss Anita decides
- 12:56to have this thing called favors, and she is looking for everything top tier
- 13:09and I mean top tier. He got to have skills on all levels.
- 13:13So basically what is happening here is she's building the perfect man with several men.
- 13:20She's getting all her treats and everything from all different types of men that
- 13:26have one specific job. And that's how this is coming about. So she
- 13:31has a schedule that these men are too folow and she pays them for these
- 13:37favors that so she can have them whatever she wants. Okay, I'm gonna
- 13:46be totally honest, everybody. I have not read the book. So that's
- 13:50why y'all see the look of so so. So it's basically happened is if
- 14:03she has about three, three or four dudes that she risits regularly, and
- 14:09yeah, they give her what she's paying them for, and I bet you
- 14:13she's gonna fall in love with one of the money. Well, the kicker
- 14:18in this book is she has a bodyguard and her bodyguard duty is to protect
- 14:24her body and so when she goes to do favors, he is with her.
- 14:31And basically what's happening. He has saved her a couple of times,
- 14:35so he's like the Superman to her Lois Lafe and and she's had since she
- 14:41makes all this money, she's gotten attacked, she's gotten you know, almost
- 14:45ride and so basically she had changed this contract so that he can be with
- 14:50her everywhere she goes, and I've been mean everywhere he's in the bedroom.
- 14:56Also, wild things are going down because she don't trust these dudes that she's
- 15:03with because of her previous encounters with her being robbed. So she has an
- 15:09issue, and so she hired a bodyguard to protect her and he is to
- 15:13be there everywhere she goes, and he takes her everywhere she goes to her
- 15:18appointments. Her following in love is with the bodyguard. I was trying to
- 15:24hold that infu of logs, like they say, the one you need is
- 15:30the one right under your nose, but you just don't see, Okay.
- 15:33So I want to know what in the world gave you the idea of the
- 15:39this book Favorites, because what you're telling me this is like some lifetime b
- 15:45E T B E T Puss stuff, righting, So please explain to me
- 15:50how did you come up with this crazy idea? Well, remember we talked
- 15:54the last time, and I told you I had a book that I got
- 15:58from a hip hop song from Nas. And Nas had this song where he
- 16:03had put together a perfect a woman, his one, and he named several
- 16:10celebrities and there are particular features and he made this woman and he rapped about
- 16:15it and saw So when I listened to it, I said, now,
- 16:18this would be dope for a woman to be her perfect dude. And so
- 16:25since I'm a writer and not a rapper, I decided to make this into
- 16:29a book and make it an interesting type of deal where she has money and
- 16:33she could actually do these type of things and get away with it. She
- 16:37has contracts everything. Oh, she's not playing, she's not playing. She
- 16:42wants what she wants when she wants it. She's a definitely, she's definitely
- 16:47a boss when it comes to this. That's crazy. That is literally crazy.
- 16:52Like I do remember talking about the Nads and this, Yeah, and
- 16:56that was like what the last a part of last year. Yep, with
- 17:03this already and just mm hmm. You you ain't lie, you ain't never
- 17:11lie. But we're gonna take commercial break, and you know we're gonna come
- 17:15back. Is I got some more questions because I want to know how she
- 17:18did it? I want I wanta So we're gonna take a break, you
- 17:22guys, We're coming back to talk to Mustasha Wright about Anika and her fevers.
- 17:27Okay, y'all come back. Okay, we'll keep on going. We'll
- 17:42keep on until she gets it. So okay, h why bring the bodyguard?
- 17:52Why not use one of the other men that she had? Why get
- 17:57the unsuspected sorry bodyguard? Dummies is actually sitting down here watching all this,
- 18:04like, oh, he has a full attitude too. He is not happy
- 18:07with it. So we have an issue. And they have what is called
- 18:11a love hate relationship, her and the bodyguard. So this is how this
- 18:17is our work. And he hates the idea of all these favors. He
- 18:19hates every last one of these guys. He's told her about it. She
- 18:23does not care. She's gonna do her and so that's where there lies the
- 18:30issue. But he's getting paid, so he has to do what she is
- 18:33required from to do. But it's tiring, believe me. And we get
- 18:37to a point where he's like, you know what, I'm done. I
- 18:40can't because he's falling in love with her and she doesn't know that he's secretly
- 18:45in love with her. Well, he has hints he does kind of and
- 18:48she kind of just waves it off. But there's a reason for her throwing
- 18:52it off because she said that in her past she's dated guys and they've all
- 18:56been disappointing in certain areas, so she didn't trust them at all, like
- 19:00as far as being the perfect guy, and the whole time he was always
- 19:04there. See, man, I'm through with you right now. I'm just
- 19:11through with you with this book because I see if I read this book,
- 19:14I'm saying I'm gonna be fussed at this book because I'm gonna be mad that
- 19:18the bodyguard is taking all this like this is your woman, you want her.
- 19:22It's like like like, I'm you know, I told you I'm a
- 19:27different world fanatic. I'm thinking Withney when she was dating uh Byron and the
- 19:36other guy she was going out with, just to make the wing yellous like
- 19:40this is your woman, go after your woman, Like this is what I'm
- 19:44feeling. So can you tell us what you're saying? This is romance?
- 19:51What makes this romance? Because I'm getting a little bit of spicy, like
- 19:56erotic. So why do you think that this should be in the category of
- 20:00romance? Okay, Well, the reason why is because a number was a
- 20:06couple of things that are happened in the book. Well, she has girlfriends
- 20:07and she goes on a birthday weekend get away with her girlfriends. They have
- 20:14been trying to get her to go out because she's so into her work,
- 20:18because she's she's she loves her her, that's her baby, the Health and
- 20:22Beauty skin Cosmos. That's her baby. She don't want nobody touching it.
- 20:26She the boss. Okay, that's just basically how it goes. And she's
- 20:30always constantly in the mix. So the girls are trying her friends are trying
- 20:33to get her out of it. She hates her birthdays. She has a
- 20:37problem with her birthdays. So this is her birthday weekend. They're trying to
- 20:41get her out of the house. So they arrange this birthday get away with
- 20:45the bodyguard who knows her like the back of his head, and he helps
- 20:49with aiding to get her birthday to get her to the away to this birthday
- 20:55get away that she did is totally gets They had to kind of sneak her
- 20:59into get into the airplane and going, but when she gets there, she
- 21:03realizes how much she needed it. And at the same time, what makes
- 21:07it a romance is during this getaway her feelings surface about her body so she
- 21:15actually has feelings for her bodyguard, but she's been kind of brushing them off
- 21:21because she didn't she doesn't really think that he is the perfect man for her,
- 21:26and he turns out to be just that. This is like some Witney
- 21:30used in and Kevin Coinster and the bodyguard, you know at the end when
- 21:34she gets off the clane and she runs back to him and yeah, well
- 21:40this is basically happening in this book. And on top of that, her
- 21:42friend ends up finding romance in love as well, so she falls in love
- 21:48with his assistant who takes his place. Because it's a long story with this
- 21:52book, because he actually leaves and he's like done and he leaves and does
- 21:56his own thing because he realized is that Anika doesn't respect him and that's why
- 22:03she won't move forward with him, because she works he works for her.
- 22:08And she considers him beneath her. As far as you know, he's not
- 22:12a boss. She's a boss. So he bosses up, okay, and
- 22:18you know he has to come with her correctly. So that's what happens.
- 22:22So let me ask you a question. Now, we talked last year,
- 22:27how what is the biggest change you've seen in your writing career from last year
- 22:33to now? Well, one thing is what we just talked about. As
- 22:37far as my season happening, my writing is definitely matured. I can see
- 22:42that. Me and my editor to talk about this all the time. Character
- 22:47development is has been a real big thing for me that I have been working
- 22:51hard at trying to do and it's showing up in my books. And I'm
- 22:56loving that because with the character development, I can build this wonderful world around
- 23:02that and it just it just goes and I love it. And that's how
- 23:06I ended up coming up with this book because I built Anika up first,
- 23:10and I knew by her being a boss, I had to have a man
- 23:14to match her, not to the point where he had to be a boss,
- 23:18but he eventually be bossed up and had to and she had no choice
- 23:22but to accept him as an equal so, and I thought that was a
- 23:26great idea to do. But down on top of that, her her sexual
- 23:30favors have. Yeah, that was interesting to me because all of these like
- 23:37there's three different guys basically it's four, but I only talked about three in
- 23:41the book detailed. But one of them he is also a potential, but
- 23:47he doesn't really get a whole bunch of shine in the book because I was
- 23:51like, you know what, I think I'm good with these three. So
- 23:53nobody knows that her trainer is actually a potential as well, but he only
- 23:57has a small kamy on the book because by the time I was about to
- 24:02introduce him stuff was going down. I was like, we just need to
- 24:03go ahead and get on to the good stuff. So yeah, so that's
- 24:07what's basically happening in the book, and that's how I think. That's one
- 24:11of the things that has happened for me, is the character development and that
- 24:15I'm switching into the more Like the next book I have coming out is an
- 24:19urban urban life book, and I enjoyed that so much. I really did.
- 24:25I When I wrote that book, I was like, I really do.
- 24:29I was so comfortable. I did it with ease and so it was
- 24:32just like, Okay, I'm enjoying this. So the urban life and romance
- 24:36has kind of growing on me a lot. So that's what's changed since last
- 24:38year. Okay, so now you said urban life. That's the first time
- 24:42ever hearing it, and you got to explain to me what urban life is.
- 24:48Well, urban life is just the life, just regular life, just
- 24:53just regular life that everybody lives day to day with issues and problems and things
- 24:59that are going on on, you know, just in their life. Like
- 25:02for instance, the book that's coming out now, it's a mother that's narrating
- 25:07the book and she has five sons that she's trying to get to the altar,
- 25:11and so that's basically what's happening. And so the urban life is there
- 25:15going through life to get to the altar. Oh lord, she said,
- 25:21fine, Lord. One she got five So she's an older woman, so
- 25:26she got five grow sons. So does when you say urban life, does
- 25:30this have the grittiness of the street or is this just regular urban contemporary?
- 25:37Because I love how the way you said urban life, and I think I'm
- 25:38gonna I'm gonna take that one from me and use that word. Hope you
- 25:41don't mind, because a lot of people when I said urban contemporary, they're
- 25:45thinking what in the world was contemporary? But when you say urban life,
- 25:51that simplifies it we to the point I think they can grasp it real quick,
- 25:56right. Matter of fact, how did you even come up with that
- 25:59term urban life? I'm I don't know. See the type of writer I
- 26:04am, I just write. And this is the thing that I that my
- 26:08my editor tells me all the time. She said, you need to figure
- 26:11out what type of genre you're writing before because my mind just goes and then
- 26:17before I in the book, then we're like, okay, so what kind
- 26:19of genre is this? Because I just write stories and I tell people that
- 26:26I write stories, and they become what genre they're supposed to be. So
- 26:32when I'm writing, I'm I'm like, I told you, I developed the
- 26:34character, I built the scene, and I'm just writing. I don't have
- 26:37nothing in specific, nothing in particular that I'm looking for. I don't know.
- 26:41And now that now, I will take that back because now when I
- 26:45did strong addition, I was definitely going for writing at that time. But
- 26:51the rest of my books I just wrote and I'm like, Okay, this
- 26:53sounds like good. This sounds like it's pretty good. I'm going to just
- 26:56go with this, and I'm like, okay, so what genre is this?
- 26:57Because I'm trying to just go through and figure out which one is close
- 27:03to anything in that in that genre. So and I tell people all the
- 27:07time, I said, I got plenty of genres. Don't put me in
- 27:08a box because I have no idea what I'm gonna write. I don't know
- 27:11what this being is gonna write. I mean, I have several other genres
- 27:15on the way too. And that's why I said I'm growing down and I'm
- 27:18in my new season and I'm really tapping into the romance right excuse me right
- 27:22now. And I have a dark romance that's gonna come up to I have
- 27:26that too as well. I'm already working on it. If you can write
- 27:32a book with any author from a different genre, and you write yourself,
- 27:37what would the genre be and what who would the author be. I have
- 27:44reached out to two authors that I that are my favorites and I and I
- 27:48want to do another one after I read his book first, because I want
- 27:53to read his book. I've been I'm in the process of actually reading his
- 27:56book and I'm like, I think I think I will do good collaboring with
- 27:59him. But one of them is Yvette Wilson. Uh ta car Vett Wilson.
- 28:06I want to Uh. I reached out to her and she does uh.
- 28:10She does romance too, but I think she does. I think she
- 28:14has an erotic book that she's working on as well. But she does everything,
- 28:18and so I'm like, it don't matter what it is. I'm like,
- 28:21I think I can work with her. My other person, he kind
- 28:26of writes what I write for the most part. He's stepping into romance right
- 28:30now. He just released the Romance book and that's author King Benjamin and I
- 28:37mentioned him before on the on our last interview because he was my first person
- 28:41I ever wrote or ever read as far as urban fiction, and so I
- 28:45enjoyed writing his books. Now he has a lot of books, but I
- 28:48think, like I said, he just captain the romance, so that would
- 28:52be kind of cool to do. Uh. And my other one is one
- 28:56of your favorites, which is Keith Kareem Williams. And I'm reading book that's
- 29:02my literary baby daddy. I love his work. I always told him,
- 29:10I said, you my literary baby daddy. He's like nobody saying, like,
- 29:15how do you explain that? Tree, I said, because when you
- 29:17write a book, it feels like you gave birth to the baby and I'm
- 29:21the mama and I'm caring this baby around. So you know, baby,
- 29:26but key, excuse me for a second. You need to come on on
- 29:30my show and stop playing around now. Don't make me confind you. Okay,
- 29:40So, well, lately, I know he's trying to not he's trying,
- 29:47he's feeling and I'm so I've followed his career. Oh my god,
- 29:52it's I think when we were reader's in motions, so that has to be.
- 29:59My son is twenty one now, so that has to be over like
- 30:03fifteen years that i'd been following his career. We all be friends, we
- 30:07started a book club. Then everybody started to become authors, and I'm like,
- 30:11I can't do that with y'all. And I was like, look,
- 30:15I can't do it. So that's how that became. So my last question
- 30:22for you, my dear, is where do you see your literary career going?
- 30:30Sorry, where do you get? Hearing a noise and I'm like,
- 30:37what the heck I thought I heard? I was like, if there's a
- 30:40snake anywhere around here I'm running. All y'all can see is nothing. So
- 30:44my question to you is where do you see your literary career going in twenty
- 30:51Well, how do you see it? Let me let me rephrase this question
- 30:56because it's not ending, but how do you see it? Concluding four,
- 31:03we're at the halfway mark. We only got half of the year to go,
- 31:06So where do you want that career to go for that remainder of the
- 31:10year. Okay, well, in this halfway mark, I have three books
- 31:15I've released already so and I have I think three more. They're already read,
- 31:22they're already written, they're ready to go. I'm just waiting to get
- 31:26to release date. So as of right now, I'm getting towards. I'm
- 31:33going towards. Like I told you earlier, I'm going to be releasing a
- 31:37book a month starting next year. So I'm in the process. I've already
- 31:41I'm thinking. I got the last book that I'm gonna be releasing this year.
- 31:45I'm still working on. It's almost done, and then after that it's
- 31:49just gonna be a book, a book a month. I'm challenging myself,
- 31:52or I have been challenging myself because I love writing. I mean, my
- 31:57my pen name is Tasha, right, And it's not that for you know,
- 32:01on purpose. It's because I write, and that's all I do.
- 32:05I enjoy writing. It's one of my uh things that I do. And
- 32:09I want to relax. I just want to, you know, have peace.
- 32:13I write and that's all I've been doing. And as we approach the
- 32:17end of this year, I will have a total six books done this year
- 32:21and these and I think I put a post up today and I told my
- 32:24readers, I said, listen, please bear with me as I go through
- 32:30my new season. I'm laying down my foundation is what I'm doing, and
- 32:35so I can get into the things that I am comfortable with writing as of
- 32:40now. Like I said, I've developed characters. I've been I've been good
- 32:45with that and I enjoy doing that. And the stories that I have come
- 32:50in, Oh my god. I I'm a thinker, so I think outside
- 32:55all the time. So with favors, That's how I favor got developed because
- 33:00I'm thinking outside the box all the time. What is out here that nobody
- 33:05has, or what is out here that nobody's talked about, or what is
- 33:07out here that you know, or I just pop up on something. I'm
- 33:10like, Okay, this is a good book. I'm about to write about
- 33:14this particular topic. So I'm constantly doing that. Now. I have a
- 33:20laptop full of books that I'm still working on. These books that are being
- 33:23released are part of that catalog, and these were done like two years ago,
- 33:29and I'm just now getting them completed so I can push them out.
- 33:32So I can bring some other things that I've been thinking about and ideas that
- 33:37I've had about certain books. But not to say that these books have not
- 33:40been ideas, because papers I haven't seen in the industry at all as far
- 33:46as anybody writing a book about that. So some of these ideas that I
- 33:52have are just new to everyone else, and what they say new to you
- 33:54old to me. Like I've I wrote Favors two years ago and it's just
- 33:59now out in January. So you didn't know, you did not because it
- 34:05reads like the little bit of parts I have been reading that I was able
- 34:07to read. It didn't read like you did this two years ago. Oh
- 34:13that's a long story in itself, if you asked my editor. We sat
- 34:15there and basically this is what happened with Fakirs Fafirs was a promo book.
- 34:21I wasn't even going to release this book. It was just a little promo
- 34:24book I did and I was going to release to my reading group or whatever
- 34:28or whoever, you know, just to let them see what I that I
- 34:30could write. And so, but it was jack up. And what I
- 34:37say jack up, I'm talking about I probably just did. It was like
- 34:39a rough draft. Man. My editor got that book, she looked at
- 34:44it. She said, oh girl, this book needs some work. But
- 34:47I was like, I'm so sorry. After I didn't realize it because,
- 34:51like I said, I wrote it two years ago and my pan was just
- 34:53like I was just writing. I wasn't. It wasn't anything that I was
- 34:58like, you know, okay, I'm gonna just go ahead and make sure
- 35:00this is perfected the right way. No, I was just writing. I
- 35:02literally just it looked like I was shotting notes in this in this particular book
- 35:07when I first did it. So when I sent it to her, she
- 35:09was like, and I was like, I had to apologize to my edit.
- 35:14I said, oh, I'm so sorry. I did not know it
- 35:15was that jacked up. Now what happened in the finished product that you see
- 35:21is when I went back. So you had college now, but it was
- 35:25not like that two years ago, so you I had some work. You're
- 35:32talking about this editor. Can you shout out this editor? It seems like
- 35:37she's she's doing the thing with you. Do you want to give her a
- 35:40shout out? Oh? I sure will I give her. I gave her.
- 35:44Listen, she's in the book. I gave her a shout out in
- 35:47this book. I think she's probably three of my books. Oh my god,
- 35:54that I can tell you. Definitely. Tail Journe again is my editor.
- 36:00Love her to death. And I say that, and that's no exaggeration.
- 36:04I ain't doing this for y'all. She has been there step by step
- 36:08from my first book to now and I have learned so much from her.
- 36:15And this is and tell I know you watch it. So this is your
- 36:17flowers. Gone accept them. That's what we're doing. So, yes,
- 36:24she is great. Like she is a coach, she's an editor, she's
- 36:30a friend. She is always there when I want to talk about my book.
- 36:35All I gotta do is hey, what you're doing? What you think
- 36:38about this? She like, all, girl, Yes, that's my that's
- 36:42my friend. That is that's my friend. She like I said, we
- 36:45talk all the time about all my books, all the character She's helped me
- 36:50a lot. But shout out to Tam Journ again, who is my editor?
- 36:54Love her to death. Hi Tam Journ again. You keep pushing,
- 37:00you keep reading. Thank you. So while we're closing down, you know
- 37:06you got to give us the rundown your readers group, your Facebook. Yeah,
- 37:09I think you're on TikTok, right, I am, all right,
- 37:13so just give us the whole rundown all right. On Facebook, I am
- 37:17author Tasha Rights. I also have Tasha Creates. I know a lot of
- 37:22people are on that one too. That's my backup page, but I'm on
- 37:24that too, So when you see posts on authorized Rights, it's gonna be
- 37:29on there too. So that's Facebook. Instagram, I am Tasha Underscore Rights
- 37:35or at Tasha Underscore Rights on Instagram. TikTok, I think i'm author Tasha
- 37:40Rights on there as well. I think it's author Tasha Yeah, author Tasha
- 37:45Rights and TikTok I am author Tasha Rights on there, and I'm a thread
- 37:52too. I think it's Tasha Underscore Rights on there as well. And you
- 37:57too, I'm author your Rights on the earth. All right, now,
- 38:01well you guys, y'all got the rundown. I'm telling you, this is
- 38:06one of those authors, one of those you need to watch authors. Okay,
- 38:09and you heard it here first, okay, people, So I personally
- 38:15would like to thank you for joining me tonight favors y'all. The book is
- 38:21unique. I've never seen anything like this in the book. Look at that
- 38:25oh dude in the background, and oh and it's all audio. So the
- 38:32book is also audible on audio. It's on Amazon, it's on iTunes,
- 38:37and it's all audible. I just recently did that before the interview, so
- 38:43like about I think I think it was just done two or three weeks ago.
- 38:46I got approved. So yes, it is also all audio. So
- 38:51you have audio book as well. You can listen now seek food. That's
- 38:55me at work now, me and audiobow, we didn't have a good relationship
- 39:00because I always forget to use my credits. So I've been using like hoopla
- 39:06and h then my library has one. It's called overdrive, and oh my
- 39:12god, I find books in them. I'm like lo pepe like a book
- 39:15that has gunshots in the background, play and other stuff making noise in the
- 39:22background, like you are you serious? But thank you because people, a
- 39:28lot of people do not think about the audiobook world, and I really wish
- 39:31that African American authors would look into that world and see how much growth there
- 39:38could be in the capabiles of that. I mean, you have the normals,
- 39:45you have the same the aerctroom, Dickie. But a lot of the
- 39:49newer authors they're not looking into audio books, and I think that is like
- 39:53almost the way to go. Especially I work at a library, so I
- 39:57really don't have the time to set up and actually old the book. But
- 40:00I'll walk around with a piece in my ears all day listening to a book
- 40:05and standing at the pavement like could you please Okay lady, what did you
- 40:09just say this? Now? So thank you for even looking into that.
- 40:15Ram. So, y'all, we got Kindle, we got audiobo iTunes.
- 40:21Can they purchase the book directly from you? Do you have a website?
- 40:24I do. My website is www dot Tasha Wrights dot com and the books
- 40:31are there there you go, you guys, Tasha Wright in Favus. That's
- 40:37all I can say. That's all I will say, because I know I'm
- 40:43gonna be going back and reading this book like the String that Strange Addiction strong
- 40:49edition. You so wrong for that me. You won't talk about that leader.
- 40:53We might have to do a zoom meeting about that book. And see,
- 40:57oh well, well, just just to let you know, there will
- 41:00be a spin off next year that I will be releasing. So one of
- 41:02them couples is getting a book. Mm hmm, who can you please tell
- 41:07me what you want? Please? Quincy and Strict are getting a book next
- 41:12year. I will be writing a spinoff to strang Addiction next year, so
- 41:15yes, and oh my goodness, I can't now that. I can't wait
- 41:20to write now then though, I said that my favorite was romance and I
- 41:23love writing a rotic. Now, don't tell me, don't pay. They've
- 41:28been a heart mess in that book. Like, just wait till we see
- 41:31what happens in the spin off because Quincy has not properly proposed. So yeah,
- 41:37that's gone down, y'all know what. It's another Saturday night. See
- 41:43that opened up another can of words, and we're gonna be you's a bad
