- 2:01So go to back plays.com / heel on back plays.com Ilan
- 2:08backblaze.com he'll on. Hello everybody, and welcome
- 2:17back to the space news pod. My name is Will Walden.
- 2:20And in this episode, we're going to be talking about space X and
- 2:24what kind of schedule they have for the very short future of
- 2:29June, June. Well, on May 30th, they just
- 2:33launched Bob behnken and Doug Hurley to the International
- 2:36Space Station on a very successful demo to Mission.
- 2:41That's with the Falcon 9 rocket with a crew dragon on top of it.
- 2:46So that's 11 down on May 30th. And then, on June 4th, they had
- 2:52a startling admission, the staring like eight mission.
- 2:54That was successful as well. So they launched 60 starlink
- 2:58satellites on June 4th. That's only A few days after the
- 3:01May 30th crew Dragon demo to launch.
- 3:04And now coming up on June 12th is the starlink 9 launch another
- 3:1160. Starlink satellites will be
- 3:13launched into orbit and then June 24th.
- 3:16Just 12 days after that 12 days, they launch another 60 starlink
- 3:22satellites to orbit, okay? If that's not enough, there's
- 3:25another launched, June 30th of a Falcon 9 rocket.
- 3:29This is for the GPS. 3sv 03 Columbus launch.
- 3:35It's going from SLC 40 and Cape Canaveral, Florida.
- 3:39And there's so many launches for SpaceX this month and he kind of
- 3:45got to ask yourself. Why are they doing this so fast?
- 3:50Why are they launching? So many starlink satellites in
- 3:54such a short amount of time? And the reason is because they
- 3:58can because they have the Technology.
- 4:00They built the rockets that can do this.
- 4:03The reason why they have the Falcon 9 is because it's
- 4:06reusable, they can launch starlink one week and then two
- 4:11weeks later they can take the same rocket and refurbish it and
- 4:15launch more starlink Rockets, you know how cool is that then
- 4:20you know after that they can do the GPS 3 launch on the 30th
- 4:26they're not going to reuse the same rocket from the 12th in the
- 4:2824th. Just just so, you know, but that
- 4:31is a possibility in the future. And actually the funny thing is
- 4:37three-star, length, launches one month, that'll be a new record,
- 4:42but the fact that they launched people to the space station,
- 4:46just a few days before June and they're getting right back on
- 4:50track to launch more and more and more things.
- 4:54How many launches can SpaceX do theoretically in one month?
- 5:00Well, eventually SpaceX wants to be able to launch a thousand
- 5:05people in a day. You know, 100 people in a
- 5:11Starship, right? So 10 Starship, seventh day,
- 5:13they want to be able to take it back, bring it back down, launch
- 5:1610 launch 100 people up, bring the booster back down launch.
- 5:21Another hundred people do that 10 times in a day launch.
- 5:23A hundred people ten times in orbit, right?
- 5:25So a thousand people in a day. That's crazy.
- 5:29That's a lot of People in one day, and this is the beginning,
- 5:33this Falcon 9 reusable rocket, where they launched it, four,
- 5:39five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten times in a month.
- 5:43Well, that's the precursor to the Starship.
- 5:46They have to make sure that the technology is absolutely perfect
- 5:50on Falcon 9 so they can reuse it and they learn from the data
- 5:55sets that they get from these launches.
- 5:57And then they take them over to the Starship.
- 6:00Yes. And for which kind of blew up
- 6:02DSM-5, which is coming up soon, which we hope in this is a
- 6:06thing. I getting the facts from these
- 6:08next few days, June 8th. The roads closed where they're
- 6:13testing the new starship June 10th as well.
- 6:17June 11th, and June 12. So Hans, who is the lead
- 6:23engineer at SpaceX said, that they want to have some hop tests
- 6:27in the near future and 50 meter hop tests.
- 6:31It's possible that we may be able to see a hop test by June.
- 6:3512th is it probable? Well they have to do a lot of
- 6:37testing before they actually get it to hop but they have June 8th
- 6:42and June 10th. The back updates are June 11th
- 6:44of June 12. So June 8th of June 10th, if the
- 6:47static fire test goes well the eight possible.
- 6:51They do a launch on the 10th, they do a 150-meter hop but it's
- 6:56not probable. So they have to make sure that
- 6:59everything works right. And once the 10th comes and
- 7:02goes, then, you know, it's possible that there will be
- 7:05another word closure soon down the line.
- 7:08Now, that being said, these Falcon 9 launch is, man, it's
- 7:12crazy. There's a lot of technology in
- 7:15these rockets that can be sort of reused for upcoming launches.
- 7:21You know, the rocket engines, they can be, you know, they'll
- 7:26be using similar rocket engines in this starlink or in the
- 7:30Starship as they do in the starlink and the Falcon 9 launch
- 7:33is so It's cool that they're doing all these launches in one
- 7:37month. It's really cool that they are
- 7:39but they want to do more, they want to have customers
- 7:42continuously paying for launches, they want to be
- 7:45reusable Rockets, right? So they already have that they
- 7:49want to be reliable. They're pretty freakin reliable
- 7:52at this point and they want to be able to make money
- 7:55consistently so they can develop Starship for the ultimate goal
- 8:00of SpaceX which is to land people on Mars.
- 8:04That's why they're doing all these Watches.
- 8:05They're making sure that, you know, hey, we can do it, we
- 8:07might as well and also we know that our Rockets are reliable.
- 8:12So let's go do this thing and make sense.
- 8:15So I just want to say thanks for listening guys, I just want to
- 8:19get this out there, so you guys know what's coming up with the
