- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Today on the podcast, we talked to some of the
- 0:11Speaker 1: creators of a very exciting new Disney prequel.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Disney's Become All about the live action reboot, the spinoff story,
- 0:22Speaker 2: and like we'll see today, the prequel.
- 0:25Speaker 3: The creators of Pan Dad join us to talk about
- 0:29Speaker 3: their new spinoff about Peter Pan's father.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Now giddy up, sit down, and get comfortable for an
- 0:36Speaker 4: origin story of sorts, let's dream.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Well, guys, I don't know about you. I'm really excited.
- 0:46Speaker 1: It's really nice to be talking about something instead of
- 0:50Speaker 1: making something with you guys from once, we always work
- 0:52Speaker 1: so hard.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's great to just talk about And since
- 0:57Speaker 3: this was announced, and since Pan Dad was announced, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 3: a mere forty eight hours ago, yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Huge for us, huge for us. It's been huge for us.
- 1:10Speaker 3: And we have been keeping this a secret for a while.
- 1:12Speaker 3: We've been keeping this a secret for seventy two hours,
- 1:16Speaker 3: which is when we found out we were doing this.
- 1:17Speaker 2: So literally, you guys would not believe this. Seventy two hours.
- 1:21Speaker 2: They gave us all a zoom link and said join
- 1:25Speaker 2: and it was Bob Iiger and a bunch of the
- 1:27Speaker 2: creative saying we've got an idea. We've got an idea,
- 1:31Speaker 2: and what was the idea? Pant's dad, and we said,
- 1:34Speaker 2: we love it, we love it, we love it. We're
- 1:36Speaker 2: going to sink our teeth right into this right.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Sorry to interrupt, it is called Pan Dad, Pan. I
- 1:41Speaker 1: know we just got the idea, but it is called Pan.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Sorry, that was my mistake.
- 1:44Speaker 3: That was a big discussion on the zoom whether it
- 1:49Speaker 3: should be a possessive, but they eventually landed on they
- 1:53Speaker 3: liked the rhyme and since Pan doesn't have an S
- 1:56Speaker 3: on the end, they like Pan Dad.
- 1:58Speaker 2: They like a clean and we Well, that was my
- 2:01Speaker 2: big thing because I was trying to say Pan and
- 2:03Speaker 2: Dad don't rhyme. They don't. Fundamentally, they're a slant rhyme
- 2:06Speaker 2: if and that's a big slang.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But look, mister Yeah, he had a mouthful of ruben
- 2:12Speaker 1: and he screamed, we love how Pan and Dad rhyme,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and you kind of don't, and you don't.
- 2:17Speaker 6: Argue with that.
- 2:18Speaker 3: And you know, I think I am coming around to
- 2:21Speaker 3: mister Iger's position that those two things do rhyme.
- 2:24Speaker 5: I'm coming round to that opinion.
- 2:26Speaker 6: I'm certainly coming aroun.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Absolutely, I've given it. Like the last three eight hours,
- 2:30Speaker 2: I've been definitely thinking about how those things sound together,
- 2:33Speaker 2: and it for me, I'm now understanding what he meant
- 2:36Speaker 2: by rhyme, and it felt like it rhymes.
- 2:39Speaker 5: I'm coming around. I'm coming around to the sounds.
- 2:42Speaker 6: Yeah, so we should introduce ourselves.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, sorry, Oh this is just so exciting, right, So, yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 2: you guys saw D twenty three a big pan dad
- 2:52Speaker 2: title card came out. So. My name is Gordon Bywater
- 3:00Speaker 2: and I have been a writer's room ideation big thinker
- 3:05Speaker 2: for Disney movies for a while. Now I do a
- 3:08Speaker 2: bunch of fun animated shorts with my roommate on the side,
- 3:14Speaker 2: but mostly I'm in the ideation process at Disney.
- 3:17Speaker 6: Awesome. My name is Zuzzy Monk. I am writing the.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Music and lyrics for uh, the, for The, for for PANDAD,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and I'm really excited. I've been writing a lot of
- 3:30Speaker 1: off off Broadway musicals. I was doing a lot of
- 3:33Speaker 1: musicals that were, you know, ripped from the headlines kinds
- 3:37Speaker 1: of musicals.
- 3:39Speaker 6: Uh you know.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Uh, My big one was uh Scaramuccie off my Bucci
- 3:48Speaker 1: when Anthony Scaramucci.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Was so funny, I mean funny.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It was kind of a scathing review. So it and
- 3:53Speaker 1: I got a little brieplt. I got a little uh cheeky,
- 3:58Speaker 1: and I also I got a little let's just say, reverent.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And so it's gonna be hard for them to tone
- 4:07Speaker 1: me down, but I but they haven't and they will.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And I'm really really excited because we have a lot
- 4:14Speaker 1: of great music.
- 4:15Speaker 5: In this incredible Hi. I'm Terra Cotta Strong.
- 4:20Speaker 4: I am a Disney illustrator and designer. I've been working
- 4:25Speaker 4: there for twenty five plus years. I'm so excited to
- 4:28Speaker 4: be on this team as the head illustrator and designer.
- 4:32Speaker 4: My big calling card is I drew I designed Merda
- 4:36Speaker 4: from Braves Hair.
- 4:38Speaker 5: That's what I did. I drew all that.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I designed that, and that was so funny and so
- 4:43Speaker 2: fun that you did that. I thought, you know, you
- 4:45Speaker 2: bring this beautiful understanding of how hair works to everything
- 4:49Speaker 2: that you're doing.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean, I'm not a hair girl, but
- 4:52Speaker 4: that was what I think I'm most known for. Design wise,
- 4:56Speaker 4: I did the Little Boy's Shoes and up so I've
- 5:00Speaker 4: only had a little I've never been lead lead woman
- 5:03Speaker 4: on a project art wise, and I just it's I
- 5:08Speaker 4: usually only have like one part of a body of
- 5:10Speaker 4: a character. So I'm really excited that I'm getting this
- 5:13Speaker 4: opportunity to just be out here on the front lines
- 5:16Speaker 4: with you creators.
- 5:17Speaker 6: And I've always meant to ask this.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. We just met kind of recently. Is
- 5:21Speaker 1: your name Tara Cotta Strong or is Terra Cotta your
- 5:25Speaker 1: first name?
- 5:25Speaker 5: Tara Cotta is my first name, Strong is my last.
- 5:28Speaker 6: Oh, thank you, thank you so much, of course.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Well.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Hi, I'm Tracy Coldwater and I am a I'm the
- 5:37Speaker 3: director of this project somehow. I really I say somehow
- 5:41Speaker 3: because I you know, I haven't worked with Disney before,
- 5:44Speaker 3: and it was a it was a real whirlwind. I'm
- 5:47Speaker 3: known for being the director of a lot of Dad movies,
- 5:51Speaker 3: so they called me in because they wanted to bring
- 5:54Speaker 3: a real dad perspective into this.
- 5:57Speaker 5: And so I did.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I did ADDIE's Home too, I did Father of the Bride,
- 6:03Speaker 3: so did.
- 6:05Speaker 2: The Fire You just so seventeen again, seventeen, You're by
- 6:09Speaker 2: the dozen game, Blue the Stout Fat.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And you know, maybe other directors have been listed as
- 6:17Speaker 3: credited directors on those projects, but I have been ghost
- 6:20Speaker 3: directing pretty much every movie about a dad made within
- 6:24Speaker 3: the last forty years. So they brought me in because
- 6:27Speaker 3: they really wanted.
- 6:28Speaker 5: That uh thing.
- 6:30Speaker 3: And this is my first time that my name is
- 6:33Speaker 3: going to be on it and I all deserve So yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 3: thank you so much. I'm overwhelmed. I'm excited. It's it's
- 6:39Speaker 3: it's gonna be fantastic.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Is it true the rumors I heard that you that
- 6:44Speaker 4: you guess directed every scene that mister Incredible was in
- 6:48Speaker 4: in The Incredibles, But none of the scenes he wasn't in.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Yeah, none of the scenes that he wasn't in. They
- 6:52Speaker 5: locked me out of the room.
- 6:54Speaker 3: For those they had, they would send me scripts with
- 6:57Speaker 3: entire pages just blacked out because it was all you know,
- 6:59Speaker 3: they're very protective and so they didn't want me finding
- 7:02Speaker 3: out what happened to the other members of the family.
- 7:04Speaker 3: They said, just focus on mister Incredible. Just focus on
- 7:07Speaker 3: mister Incredible. What's he doing, what's his job, what's he
- 7:10Speaker 3: up to? So this is really exciting to get to
- 7:13Speaker 3: delve into, you know, not just Dan pan Well. And
- 7:19Speaker 3: I guess this is when we could talk about the
- 7:20Speaker 3: plot right of this. I guess we can't give too much,
- 7:24Speaker 3: but I I it's gonna be really exciting because I
- 7:28Speaker 3: don't think viewers have had the opportunity to meet Dan
- 7:32Speaker 3: Pan yet.
- 7:33Speaker 5: You know, he's been sort of a off screen figure.
- 7:38Speaker 3: That he is finally getting his moment in the sun
- 7:40Speaker 3: because I think I don't know about you guys, but
- 7:42Speaker 3: every time I've watched Peter Pan, I've thought to myself,
- 7:46Speaker 3: where is his dad, what's his daddy doing?
- 7:50Speaker 5: What's he up to? What's his job? What is he like?
- 7:53Speaker 5: Does he have friends? Does he have hobbies? And that's
- 7:56Speaker 5: something that.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Gordon and I have really got got into with the
- 8:01Speaker 3: script and everything. Gordon, do you wanna do you want
- 8:04Speaker 3: to tell us where you're at with that? I know
- 8:06Speaker 3: it's only about a couple of days.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and thank you, Tracy, thank you. Yeah, I will.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I think I think we hit it off right away
- 8:12Speaker 2: because both of our last names have water.
- 8:14Speaker 5: In it, and I think that was laughed so much.
- 8:17Speaker 2: And we were giggling about that so long. We were giggling, Yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 2: it's it never happens and it's never happened to me.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And immediately when it happened, I said, this is it?
- 8:28Speaker 2: This is that Disney magic. Yeah're talking.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Yeah, this is that Disney magic.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:32Speaker 2: So this is amazing because what we're doing now with this,
- 8:37Speaker 2: with this script is basically, there was a moment in
- 8:40Speaker 2: the original Peter Pan where Wendy says, where are your parents?
- 8:43Speaker 2: And he says, I don't have parents, and we are
- 8:46Speaker 2: running with that. We are running with that to go,
- 8:50Speaker 2: he had to have parents. He's born, he had to
- 8:53Speaker 2: have parents who was born, because he's born, and that's
- 8:56Speaker 2: how babies work.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Yeah, he's he's born, but he cannot grow.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Mm hmm exactly. And so we wanted to jump into
- 9:04Speaker 2: what would a dad be like in this situation where
- 9:09Speaker 2: your kid doesn't think you exist, you know, kind of
- 9:14Speaker 2: a kind of a I would say, kind of kind
- 9:16Speaker 2: of for me, kind of a you know, kind of
- 9:18Speaker 2: a crazy thing, an absolute crazy thing kind of for me.
- 9:21Speaker 2: For me, it's been crazy. So we've just been spitballing
- 9:24Speaker 2: like crazy and it's oh, we've been crazy. But the
- 9:28Speaker 2: fun thing is we've kind of gotten everybody into this room.
- 9:31Speaker 2: It's how Disney works. We've got this big kind of
- 9:34Speaker 2: ideation table where we all sit down, and we're sitting
- 9:38Speaker 2: down with the designers of the characters, We're sitting down,
- 9:42Speaker 2: you know, with everybody and everywhere, even the music, and
- 9:45Speaker 2: we're just trying to hash this puppy out and it's
- 9:47Speaker 2: going really well.
- 9:49Speaker 1: It Disney calls it, you know, there's the phrase dream team,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but they actually call it the Dreamer Teamsters. Yeah, and
- 9:55Speaker 1: that's what we've created, a team, a group of dreamer teamsters.
- 9:57Speaker 1: We're hanging out just like they shot Mary Poppins. If
- 9:59Speaker 1: you seen Saving Mister Banks, it's just like that. We're
- 10:02Speaker 1: sitting around in one of those old studios on the Disney.
- 10:05Speaker 6: Lot and I'm pounding away.
- 10:07Speaker 1: At the piano, coming with ideas and having a lot
- 10:10Speaker 1: of fun pitching things.
- 10:11Speaker 6: We've been sitting in the room.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And what's crazy is in the past three days we've
- 10:14Speaker 1: gotten the entire thing out and it's been greenlit and
- 10:17Speaker 1: it's been locked and it actually can't be changed.
- 10:19Speaker 2: It can't be changed anymore.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Yeah, And so it's like a beautiful gun to your head.
- 10:24Speaker 6: It is a.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Beautiful gun to your head. And we haven't slept. We
- 10:27Speaker 5: should just say that we have not slept.
- 10:30Speaker 2: There's been some Yerba mates passed around. So funny.
- 10:36Speaker 4: What's so funny is this team is like a battery
- 10:38Speaker 4: drawer in your house right where all of us are
- 10:41Speaker 4: kind of coming into our own in this role.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Like Tracy, I mean, you've never fully directed a film.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I mean, I'm an animation designer on a live action film.
- 10:53Speaker 5: We're all doing this and we don't know each other
- 10:56Speaker 5: very well. But when I.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Said, Terra Cotta, I want to I want to bring
- 11:00Speaker 3: up why you're why it's so important that you're here.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Explain it please, because you.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Know, the original Peter Pan is of course animated, and
- 11:12Speaker 3: we can't dive into the mind of an animated movie
- 11:16Speaker 3: without having an animator here present, supervising, eating popcorn, making
- 11:22Speaker 3: sure we're doing it right.
- 11:24Speaker 5: That's sure, Yes, because I have.
- 11:26Speaker 3: To ask you sometimes, you know, would an animated character
- 11:29Speaker 3: do this? And if the answer is no, then we
- 11:31Speaker 3: have to scrap it.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Oh and every time Zuzzi writes a song, I'm drawing,
- 11:35Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and that's.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Telling beautiful doodles.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yes, And I do believe a lot of people don't
- 11:42Speaker 4: know this about Disney live action films, but when they're
- 11:45Speaker 4: coming from the franchise, especially IP that's that dates back
- 11:48Speaker 4: to old Disney, like Peter Pan, does we storyboard everything.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Totally spill board everything.
- 11:55Speaker 6: Your actions.
- 11:56Speaker 1: You've seen the Disney live actions, you know, we have
- 11:58Speaker 1: the new Little Mermaid coming out. It's it's there's an
- 12:02Speaker 1: artistic feel to it. It feels painted right. We wanted
- 12:05Speaker 1: to look it says it's live action, but there's a
- 12:07Speaker 1: there's a texture to it. I just wanted to mention
- 12:09Speaker 1: to Terra Cotta's comment that were like a battery drawer.
- 12:12Speaker 1: If we were batteries, all three of you would be
- 12:14Speaker 1: triple A because you're awesome, awesome, awesome. No, I really
- 12:21Speaker 1: feel like that. No, guys, I really feel like.
- 12:25Speaker 2: That big old D battery because you're big old delightful.
- 12:32Speaker 2: You are big old.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Can you say that again? Because you cut out? Can
- 12:36Speaker 6: you say that again?
- 12:37Speaker 5: Battery?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Is he?
- 12:37Speaker 5: Well say it again?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Well yeah, okay, so kind of Well, you'd be like
- 12:42Speaker 2: a big old D battery because you're big old delightful.
- 12:47Speaker 6: Oh it's really nice. Yeah, that's really nice.
- 12:53Speaker 2: So we've hashed out this story and and and you
- 12:55Speaker 2: guys might just be thinking, like, just a side note
- 12:57Speaker 2: just to you don't get any worries, you know, the
- 13:00Speaker 2: Dreamster teamsters. You guys might thinking, oh, those aren't union hours.
- 13:04Speaker 2: We are actually part of the teamster union. So we
- 13:07Speaker 2: show up when when the big trucks show up, and
- 13:10Speaker 2: we leave when the last big truck leaves.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, because you know, you never know when there's going
- 13:14Speaker 3: to be a strike, when the DGA, when the WGA,
- 13:17Speaker 3: when you know everybody they could be out, So we
- 13:20Speaker 3: thought it was just safer to categorize us all as teamsters.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And it's funny because I've never gotten a creative job
- 13:26Speaker 1: and then been told I need a truck driver's license.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Yeah, like, I.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Did you take your test because I did it at
- 13:33Speaker 3: Glendale and they failed me three times.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Well, that's a tough place. I will say, super truck.
- 13:39Speaker 1: They didn't mine in Azusa and it was mountainous and
- 13:43Speaker 1: it was really scary, but I got it.
- 13:46Speaker 3: I bet they're easier on you there because they're like,
- 13:48Speaker 3: we know this is a challenge they.
- 13:50Speaker 6: Are and they need truck drivers, so they're just pushing
- 13:52Speaker 6: them through.
- 13:53Speaker 4: I will say that was the hardest part of this
- 13:55Speaker 4: journey so far. I mean, my hands, my hands look
- 13:57Speaker 4: like little little towels rolled up because I work with
- 14:01Speaker 4: my hands and I draw so much little wrinkly towels
- 14:05Speaker 4: and putting my hands on a big truck driving wheel
- 14:08Speaker 4: like that. It's like pencils trying to hold a circle,
- 14:12Speaker 4: you know what I mean.
- 14:13Speaker 6: It's so I mean.
- 14:17Speaker 5: It's striking I hold a circle.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the thing. It's that. And that's what I
- 14:23Speaker 2: really love about Terra Cotta is she's been working in
- 14:26Speaker 2: the business so long the carpal tunnel has ravaged her hands.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Almost because she's not just storyboarding the movie. She's storyboarding
- 14:35Speaker 3: things that are happening to us in the room real time.
- 14:39Speaker 5: And that's the process that we should tell everybody. That's
- 14:41Speaker 5: a part of our weird heart process. How did should
- 14:45Speaker 5: we tell them? How that started? Tracy? Was that on you?
- 14:49Speaker 3: Well, well, I I okay, I will fess up because
- 14:53Speaker 3: I did ask for this, Terra Cotta, because I you know,
- 14:57Speaker 3: we don't have the budget for some reason. This is
- 15:00Speaker 3: very specific about where we spend their money. They've said
- 15:03Speaker 3: no interns, no pas so, no writer's assistance either, Like
- 15:08Speaker 3: we don't.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Have any make sense.
- 15:10Speaker 2: It makes sense.
- 15:11Speaker 3: It makes sense the way mister Eiger explained it. You know,
- 15:13Speaker 3: I'm really coming around to the opinion.
- 15:15Speaker 5: That it makes sense. And so we don't have notes.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't have anyone taking notes and so I said,
- 15:22Speaker 3: you know what I mean, we have we have this
- 15:25Speaker 3: animator right here. She can use a pencil and terra cotta.
- 15:28Speaker 2: You.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I remember you were a little trepidacious at first because
- 15:31Speaker 3: you said, I can't write words. I don't write words.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I can read. I have the ability to write them.
- 15:37Speaker 3: I refuse to write them.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Let us letters don't have faces, is what I say.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, she can.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Only draw things with faces. All the inanimate objects have eyes.
- 15:47Speaker 3: It's actually pretty scary.
- 15:51Speaker 6: That's that old Disney style.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And I will say the first time that you started
- 15:54Speaker 1: writing it was you guys, remember that chiller font from
- 15:57Speaker 1: the early two thousands computers. That's what That's what it
- 16:00Speaker 1: looked like. It looked terrifying. It looked like a ransom
- 16:04Speaker 1: note was being written.
- 16:05Speaker 2: That's why early I said, it felt like you brought
- 16:08Speaker 2: hair bart his hair into every bit of your work,
- 16:10Speaker 2: because you're writing feels like a just a big strand
- 16:13Speaker 2: of hair.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I'll say, as exhausted and pain my hands are. I
- 16:19Speaker 4: am so happy we made that choice for our artistic vision,
- 16:23Speaker 4: because remember when we were talking about the.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Beginning of Dan and what he looked like.
- 16:29Speaker 4: I was drawing all your different ideas and we would
- 16:31Speaker 4: go fast in one direction and then someone would go, wait, wait, wait,
- 16:35Speaker 4: what about the.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Mustache on James. Let's go back, and then we would pivot.
- 16:39Speaker 2: And then we had a mustache on James. And I know,
- 16:42Speaker 2: for you guys no context at all of what mustache
- 16:45Speaker 2: on James means, but it was fifteen mustash on James.
- 16:50Speaker 2: So yeah, let's get into it. I know you guys
- 16:52Speaker 2: tuned in for one thing, and what they only need
- 16:54Speaker 2: to learn what you could about Dan Pan.
- 16:56Speaker 6: The secrets, and we're going to give them all to you.
- 16:59Speaker 2: We're going to give them to We don't want to
- 17:00Speaker 2: tell you too much, but we will tell you the
- 17:01Speaker 2: overarching plot and maybe a lot of the themes if
- 17:04Speaker 2: you guys are into that. So basically, Dan Pan is
- 17:08Speaker 2: a guy who is a little lost in life and
- 17:11Speaker 2: maybe he grew up too quickly. His life is filled
- 17:16Speaker 2: with business work and fatigue. He lives during seventeen hundreds England,
- 17:24Speaker 2: and so we made that choice. And this is a
- 17:27Speaker 2: big thing, and this was a big thing we had
- 17:29Speaker 2: to talk about because seventeen hundreds England is not a
- 17:32Speaker 2: thing any of us know about really well.
- 17:35Speaker 5: And we really have not had time to look it up.
- 17:37Speaker 2: No, it's been seventy two hours. It's been seventy two hours.
- 17:40Speaker 2: But the original Peter Pan came out, and he's supposed
- 17:43Speaker 2: to be a kid from nineteen oh four. He's been
- 17:45Speaker 2: thirteen for we don't know how long yet. And after
- 17:49Speaker 2: watching the animated and some of the remakes, I just
- 17:52Speaker 2: felt like he was a kid born in the seventeen hundreds.
- 17:55Speaker 2: There was something so you know, regal about him. There
- 17:59Speaker 2: was some things so specific about him, you know.
- 18:03Speaker 3: And he has such he has such a high voice,
- 18:06Speaker 3: you know, the kind of high voice that they only
- 18:08Speaker 3: had in the seventeen hundreds. And I know that based
- 18:12Speaker 3: on an opinion that I have When I look at
- 18:14Speaker 3: those drawings of people, I just imagine them with really high.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Squeaky voice.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And this is an important thing because I didn't have
- 18:20Speaker 2: that opinion. But then Tracy said it, and then Terra
- 18:24Speaker 2: Cotta drew it, and then I understood, and I really
- 18:27Speaker 2: came around to that.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I came to that opinion as well, exactly me too.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I really understood it. And then I started trying to
- 18:34Speaker 1: incorporate what I would imagine seventeen hundreds England music into
- 18:38Speaker 1: you know, so I got a harpsichord. We had a
- 18:40Speaker 1: harpsichord around laying around. We have every there's an instrument
- 18:43Speaker 1: room that's really goofy looking. Not not the guy, not
- 18:46Speaker 1: the dog.
- 18:47Speaker 5: No, not the dog. The room doesn't look like goofy.
- 18:50Speaker 1: The room doesn't look like goofy. But it's like kind
- 18:52Speaker 1: of silly because there's so many instruments and all. But
- 18:54Speaker 1: we got a harpsichord. We started working and it was
- 18:57Speaker 1: really fun, you know, from what I know about this
- 19:00Speaker 1: seventeen hundreds from a quick glance. You know, of course,
- 19:03Speaker 1: there was some some some problems going on with America
- 19:09Speaker 1: leaving England.
- 19:10Speaker 2: So huge, and that plays into Dan that.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Dan is staunchly against the American Revolution in English.
- 19:18Speaker 5: So it doesn't really affect him that much.
- 19:20Speaker 6: It doesn't affect him.
- 19:21Speaker 2: He's just he doesn't.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Want them to go.
- 19:25Speaker 3: There's a big long seat. He's really ticked off by it.
- 19:29Speaker 3: This is something that really ticks.
- 19:31Speaker 5: Dan pan off.
- 19:32Speaker 3: And so we see we have this whole arc where
- 19:35Speaker 3: he is walking around a seventeenth century coffee shop and
- 19:41Speaker 3: he is just muttering to himself, God, this sucks.
- 19:45Speaker 5: God, I hate this.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yeah, God, Yanks, I can't believe that they would try
- 19:50Speaker 3: and separate, that he seems irritating.
- 19:52Speaker 5: They shouldn't leave, they shouldn't leave.
- 19:56Speaker 6: That's where the song God this sucks come in. God
- 19:58Speaker 6: this sucks. God, I hate this. Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 2: And I think when we go back.
- 20:02Speaker 4: To the beginnings of who Dan is and what it
- 20:06Speaker 4: is to never be young and to be born into
- 20:09Speaker 4: this world old, right, I think that.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Because that's the curse of the family.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Because Peter Pan was cursed with a curse that made
- 20:19Speaker 3: him young forever. Dan Pan was cursed with a curse
- 20:23Speaker 3: that made him older, middle aged forever.
- 20:26Speaker 5: And it makes you question if Peter has.
- 20:30Speaker 4: The curse or is choosing to be different than his
- 20:32Speaker 4: father exactly.
- 20:33Speaker 1: It also, yeah, it's beautiful. It establishes also that Peter
- 20:37Speaker 1: is over a thousand years old, which we got really excited.
- 20:40Speaker 5: And that was something that Bob just put put really clearly.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Does it does it for a thousand years because well
- 20:47Speaker 2: maybe one hundred, and it's only one hundred, well two hundred,
- 20:50Speaker 2: seventeen hundreds to the you know, Bob said, if he
- 20:53Speaker 2: was born in the seventeen hundreds, he would be a
- 20:55Speaker 2: thousand years old. And I've been really coming around to that.
- 20:57Speaker 5: I came around when I've been really coming around to
- 21:00Speaker 5: that appear.
- 21:01Speaker 6: Bob.
- 21:02Speaker 2: We said, yeah, I wanted to put the whole thing
- 21:05Speaker 2: in the nineteen fifties. I was really interested in more
- 21:07Speaker 2: of like doing the mid century modern type of thing
- 21:10Speaker 2: with Dan Pan and kind of going with this whole
- 21:12Speaker 2: kind of what a man was at that time, you know.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And Bob Iger said, absolutely not, that's the wrong movie,
- 21:19Speaker 2: and I hate it. I want Peter Pan to be
- 21:20Speaker 2: a thousand years old and I want Dan Pan to
- 21:22Speaker 2: be born in the seventeen hundreds. And after he said that, yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 2: I pushed back by going, okay, and that was coming around. Yeah,
- 21:36Speaker 2: it was a terse Okay, it was kind of like, okay,
- 21:39Speaker 2: it was, but I didn't I said that in my head.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I said that one in my head.
- 21:43Speaker 1: It was felt in the room, and I saw Bob
- 21:44Speaker 1: Biger get visible chills, like a like a gust of
- 21:47Speaker 1: wind hit.
- 21:47Speaker 6: It in the hand.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Because no one's ever stood up to him like that.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Yeah, one person in their head.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Ever set up to him like that in their head.
- 21:57Speaker 1: And I really recommend I read that.
- 21:58Speaker 5: And I think he could tell you so, because you.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Could tell in everyone's head they're never going against him
- 22:03Speaker 4: in their head.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Well, he's just so magnanimous and so amazing. And I,
- 22:07Speaker 2: you know, I've never once since gone against him in
- 22:10Speaker 2: my head, and never went before had I gone against
- 22:12Speaker 2: him in my head. So let's keep going through this plot.
- 22:18Speaker 2: So we meet Dan. He is working a what they
- 22:23Speaker 2: did in the seventeen hundred, they didn't have nine to
- 22:25Speaker 2: five's per se, so he was up at the break
- 22:28Speaker 2: of dawn and going to work until very late at night.
- 22:32Speaker 2: And he was an accountant for one of the regal
- 22:36Speaker 2: heirs of the time, a local businessman who controlled a
- 22:39Speaker 2: lot of the land. And Dan, even though a lord. Yeah,
- 22:42Speaker 2: even though Dan we say he's twenty four, he feels sixty.
- 22:47Speaker 2: He feels sixty so bad. And I would I could
- 22:53Speaker 2: so for me, that was that was just a crazy thing.
- 22:56Speaker 2: And I kind of that was crazy. For me. I
- 22:59Speaker 2: thought that was so crazy that we could, you know,
- 23:01Speaker 2: we could do you know, we could have something like that.
- 23:04Speaker 2: That's kind of crazy, and it would be just this
- 23:07Speaker 2: crazy thing.
- 23:08Speaker 3: And I will say reading the script, it does feel
- 23:11Speaker 3: crazy as well, because there are lots of numbers scattered
- 23:14Speaker 3: throughout the script that if you sort of dig into them,
- 23:17Speaker 3: they don't really add up, right, right, And so it's
- 23:21Speaker 3: all about.
- 23:22Speaker 5: Masking it with magic. Right.
- 23:24Speaker 3: We have a saying at Disney that they sent us
- 23:27Speaker 3: T shirts and say this rub a little magic on it.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Yeah, that fixes.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Pretty much any plot issues that we run into.
- 23:36Speaker 5: That's what we're doing.
- 23:36Speaker 4: We're taking an old man's wrinkly face and we're rubbing
- 23:39Speaker 4: a little magic on it.
- 23:41Speaker 6: Well.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And speaking of magic, right, that's where his wife comes in,
- 23:44Speaker 1: Jan Pan and Jan it's you know, we meet her
- 23:48Speaker 1: from the beginning and she's seen as crazy. She's hysterical, right,
- 23:53Speaker 1: She's constantly talking about a land where boys can be
- 23:57Speaker 1: young forever, sterical woman, talking about pirates, she's talking about
- 24:02Speaker 1: Native Americans, she's talking about realm.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Just bat shit stuff, just.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Bat shit stuff. And I don't want to spoil it
- 24:10Speaker 1: right now, but you know, for the end, that's why
- 24:12Speaker 1: we decided. You know, Dan and his wife kind of
- 24:15Speaker 1: become at odds with each other, and she's pregnant and
- 24:20Speaker 1: she something crazy happens. He doesn't believe her, and she
- 24:24Speaker 1: turns into Neverland and the first boy in Neverland is
- 24:28Speaker 1: Peter because she's pregnant with Peter, and so she she
- 24:31Speaker 1: becomes she explodes and becomes Neverland and.
- 24:35Speaker 5: I love it. She was pitched in the room.
- 24:38Speaker 3: It was such an incredible moment because it made all
- 24:42Speaker 3: of us go wait, wait, wait, wait wait wait wait what.
- 24:46Speaker 4: I think it was like four thirty am and Gordon said,
- 24:49Speaker 4: what if this woman becomes a land?
- 24:52Speaker 2: And we went I said it. I don't like taking credits,
- 24:56Speaker 2: but I will say that down.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I would sleep it into one of the songs that
- 25:03Speaker 3: Zuzzy wrote because it sort of had this moment after
- 25:07Speaker 3: she explodes, we go wait, wait what wait what put.
- 25:11Speaker 5: The coffee down?
- 25:12Speaker 2: Wait what? Wait? What?
- 25:14Speaker 5: What?
- 25:14Speaker 6: Wait?
- 25:16Speaker 1: I accidentally I did start writing kind of like what
- 25:19Speaker 1: was happening in the room, and so we had to
- 25:20Speaker 1: tweak it. But the original one was like, wait what
- 25:23Speaker 1: put the coffee down? Gordon terra Cotta, did you get this?
- 25:26Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot of that, and we realized
- 25:28Speaker 1: in the morning that we were actually we were too mad.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We have to change.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Affecting everybody because I'm also taking notes and drawing. I
- 25:35Speaker 4: think you guys are also now starting to write and
- 25:38Speaker 4: take notes, so we're in a weird way directing the
- 25:42Speaker 4: present wall also making a woman become a land as she.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Has birth, and this was sort of like a Oiji
- 25:48Speaker 3: board situation or what's that thing where you put a
- 25:51Speaker 3: where everyone puts their hands together at a sleepover and
- 25:54Speaker 3: it moves around the book.
- 25:55Speaker 6: That's a board.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Yeah, and no.
- 25:59Speaker 3: One can tell if we're making the choices or the
- 26:03Speaker 3: magic force is sort of having us do it for.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Us, and I like to think it's actually Dan writing
- 26:09Speaker 2: his own story for me. It's Dan.
- 26:11Speaker 4: I love that I love. And that reminds me of
- 26:15Speaker 4: that thing that kids do when they're calling to another
- 26:19Speaker 4: figure and the figure tells them what to do basically with.
- 26:22Speaker 6: Letters oigi word.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, so that that is exactly Dan is our
- 26:29Speaker 4: ouigi mm hmm.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Yes.
- 26:31Speaker 5: I do feel like he's talking to us.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I do like when in the brief moments of sleep
- 26:35Speaker 3: that I've had over the past three days, when I
- 26:38Speaker 3: doze off, I do see him in my dreams, and
- 26:41Speaker 3: I can tell it's him because he says his classic catchphrase,
- 26:44Speaker 3: which is.
- 26:44Speaker 5: God so ticked off. I'm so ticked off.
- 26:48Speaker 2: He's he's a grumpy man. He's a grumpy, grumpy man.
- 26:53Speaker 2: And we're not trying to copy Carl from up so
- 26:55Speaker 2: we made him more grumpy.
- 26:59Speaker 5: And more square.
- 27:02Speaker 2: It's like it's hard for do to a human being
- 27:04Speaker 2: because because it's like, actually, I will say, Tera Cotta
- 27:07Speaker 2: has run with the animation of his and it is square.
- 27:12Speaker 3: So thanks, we're going to do to James Marsden. Space
- 27:15Speaker 3: are crazy.
- 27:15Speaker 2: And so this is a big reveal. We have asked.
- 27:20Speaker 2: He has not answered, but we have asked James Marsden,
- 27:24Speaker 2: Dan Pan And that was the mustache debate was when
- 27:29Speaker 2: in the script should James shave his mustache?
- 27:34Speaker 5: Well, I mean more of a production logistical question, and.
- 27:38Speaker 2: It took hours to figure out.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It took I can't believe that took up so much
- 27:44Speaker 1: of our creative brainstorming time.
- 27:46Speaker 6: It was really surprising to me.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Ultimately not our problem that ultimately has nothing to do
- 27:54Speaker 3: with us. That's an entirely different department.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Way later, right, we're not we haven't even set the
- 28:00Speaker 1: Weird and you would think.
- 28:01Speaker 4: We would, we would be worried about how how jan
- 28:05Speaker 4: could become never Land, but that.
- 28:08Speaker 5: We're not getting in the weeds of no, because that's
- 28:11Speaker 5: the magic.
- 28:11Speaker 2: But that's and that's what I'll say, is the beauty
- 28:13Speaker 2: of a creative prostess. The Dreamster's teamsters working together because
- 28:17Speaker 2: after five and a half hours of yelling at each
- 28:20Speaker 2: other about when James Marsden should shave his mustache, all
- 28:23Speaker 2: of a sudden, it just hit me like a bag
- 28:26Speaker 2: of bricks over my head. I say, shut the fuck up.
- 28:30Speaker 2: What if jan becomes explosive, becomes Neverland? And on her
- 28:34Speaker 2: dying wish, she says, when my son is thirteen, he
- 28:37Speaker 2: will not age anymore.
- 28:39Speaker 5: And after yelling.
- 28:39Speaker 3: About a mustache for five and a half hours, I'll
- 28:41Speaker 3: tell you what, anything sounds like a good idea.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Any And in a weird way, it's like a beautiful
- 28:47Speaker 4: gun pointed at your head.
- 28:48Speaker 1: It was so and I don't want to rehash the
- 28:50Speaker 1: argument again. But he doesn't currently have a mustache, so
- 28:53Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 28:55Speaker 6: I don't know why.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Let's not bring it up, and let's not bring it up.
- 28:58Speaker 2: But I was pushing for April eighteen, and just nobody
- 29:00Speaker 2: could get behind it. And that's why I was just
- 29:02Speaker 2: kind of stuck on April eighteenth. I just thought it
- 29:04Speaker 2: would be a good date.
- 29:05Speaker 3: And he was the way that number sounded. I didn't
- 29:08Speaker 3: like the way that number sounded. And I don't remember
- 29:11Speaker 3: how we got to the mustache.
- 29:12Speaker 5: I think it had.
- 29:14Speaker 2: I'm just saying April eighteenth would give him enough time.
- 29:16Speaker 2: It would be a full year for him to grow
- 29:18Speaker 2: a mustache number eight, so then he could change shave it.
- 29:21Speaker 5: I don't like the number eighth.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Fuck up, I don't like the n I'm just saying
- 29:25Speaker 2: April eighteenth he would have time to grow a full
- 29:29Speaker 2: mustache and then he'd be able to shave it.
- 29:32Speaker 4: It makes me so tired when we talk about the
- 29:34Speaker 4: timeline of that, maybe because I haven't slept in four days,
- 29:38Speaker 4: but when you bring up the timeline of when to
- 29:40Speaker 4: do this, and when you say April the date of it,
- 29:43Speaker 4: I don't even want to say it. It makes me so sick.
- 29:45Speaker 4: It makes vomit come out of my nose, That's how sick.
- 29:48Speaker 5: It makes me.
- 29:51Speaker 3: So ever be able to do in April again, I
- 29:55Speaker 3: don't think I'll ever be able to do the money.
- 29:56Speaker 5: I think I'm just going to take thirty sleeping pills
- 29:59Speaker 5: in a row.
- 30:00Speaker 6: You guys again, I love all of you.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I really don't think this is our problem, and if
- 30:05Speaker 1: it's a problem, on the day we can discuss it.
- 30:08Speaker 6: I really I think we.
- 30:10Speaker 5: All agree, which is why this argument was so vexing
- 30:13Speaker 5: to me. How we got into it.
- 30:15Speaker 2: You guys. It's just like when you guys talk about it.
- 30:17Speaker 2: You guys just sound like when you scroll down in
- 30:20Speaker 2: your home phone on an iPhone and you're just kind
- 30:23Speaker 2: of all those things are there.
- 30:25Speaker 6: What do you mean widgets?
- 30:27Speaker 2: What are you a widget board?
- 30:28Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 30:29Speaker 2: Widget board.
- 30:30Speaker 6: So when we talk about it feels like your widget board.
- 30:32Speaker 2: It feels like I'm screaming at my phone to tell
- 30:34Speaker 2: it's okay, Gordon, you're being silly.
- 30:39Speaker 5: Okay, I want to talk about Jan Pam again.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Let's shop Pam.
- 30:44Speaker 6: Well, that is a twist, right, she gets?
- 30:50Speaker 5: And should we say.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Should that we've asked, let's officially announce you have asked
- 31:00Speaker 4: Gloria Estevan to play Jan Jam.
- 31:04Speaker 2: She is amazing. We've tapped her. We have not gotten
- 31:09Speaker 2: a response back. She's a little confused, but we are
- 31:12Speaker 2: so excited to sit down with Gloria and working tapped her.
- 31:16Speaker 3: We did send on someone physically because we meant it
- 31:19Speaker 3: to tap her on the shoulder and say, Gloria is
- 31:22Speaker 3: what about this ails?
- 31:24Speaker 1: And it's so exciting because she is a woman with
- 31:26Speaker 1: such grace, and she is so powerful and wonderful.
- 31:30Speaker 6: And no one's ever seen her play crazy.
- 31:32Speaker 1: No, No glow needs to play crazy.
- 31:36Speaker 5: Are you excited to write songs for a crazy woman?
- 31:39Speaker 6: I can't wait. And I'm writing for Gloria too.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Let's just say there's going to be a little South
- 31:45Speaker 1: of the Border influence.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna love seeing the South of the influence combined
- 31:52Speaker 2: with seventeen hundreds England.
- 31:54Speaker 6: Yeah, hysteric woman. When I found out we were uh.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Me approaching Gloria, I got my jam box out and
- 32:04Speaker 1: I listened to Conga by Gloria Stefan for four hours
- 32:10Speaker 1: straight and it made me crazy. That song is crazy
- 32:14Speaker 1: and that song is crazy making and I really feel
- 32:17Speaker 1: like I was in the head. I said, no, yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 1: I can see where Neverland comes from. If this is
- 32:21Speaker 1: the vibe, you know what I mean, this is what's
- 32:22Speaker 1: going on in se.
- 32:23Speaker 2: And that was really tough because for we were all
- 32:25Speaker 2: still in the room. We're not allowed necessarily to leave
- 32:27Speaker 2: the room because they are very scared about NDAs. So
- 32:30Speaker 2: Zussy was sitting in the corner with his headphones, just
- 32:33Speaker 2: kind of touching and going there.
- 32:35Speaker 1: With headphones connected to my Bluetooth speaker, and I just
- 32:38Speaker 1: was going.
- 32:40Speaker 3: At it, and you were sort of mirroring what Jampan
- 32:43Speaker 3: goes through in the movie where she drives herself so insane,
- 32:47Speaker 3: so so so insane. Did we watch her rapid mental
- 32:50Speaker 3: decline and she's about to send herself to the asylum.
- 32:55Speaker 5: When she makes that decision to become.
- 32:57Speaker 1: A land she chooses, it's of her own choice, obviously,
- 33:01Speaker 1: and choice.
- 33:02Speaker 5: She makes as a pan not a Pam.
- 33:04Speaker 6: Exactly when she was married on her wedding night.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And Terra Cotta, I also wanted to thank you because
- 33:10Speaker 1: I was in such a fugue state. I don't remember
- 33:13Speaker 1: that period of time. I just remember what came out
- 33:14Speaker 1: of it, and see what came out of it. All
- 33:16Speaker 1: the drawings you made of me is it was going.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I'll cherish those forever, hundreds and hundreds of drawings, because
- 33:22Speaker 1: it's the only record we have of it.
- 33:24Speaker 4: It's the only record we have of the sound. And
- 33:26Speaker 4: I'm so glad we have the sound of you listening
- 33:28Speaker 4: to another song as a composer. I think it's so
- 33:31Speaker 4: important that someone is documenting.
- 33:32Speaker 5: You doing the research.
- 33:34Speaker 4: And we have drawings and drawings on drawings of a
- 33:36Speaker 4: little boy in a corner with his Bluetooth speaker and
- 33:38Speaker 4: his Bluetooth headphones.
- 33:40Speaker 2: And For me, it felt like it was beautiful because
- 33:43Speaker 2: in that moment I saw Peter for the first time.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think we talk about that now. Yeah, Peter,
- 33:49Speaker 1: who's who's not in this movie.
- 33:51Speaker 5: But the influence that Peter has over this movie.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Yes, I mean it would be really hard to make
- 33:57Speaker 1: this movie without the original Peter Pan.
- 33:59Speaker 6: Totally presidence.
- 34:01Speaker 2: And we like to do little knots here and there.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Guess what color Dan Pan's shoes are green?
- 34:08Speaker 6: Green?
- 34:09Speaker 2: And guess what color his hat is green? And guess
- 34:12Speaker 2: what he wears the whole time. He wears a green
- 34:13Speaker 2: and little leotard for the whole movie.
- 34:15Speaker 1: And one of the first scenes is dan is working
- 34:18Speaker 1: really hard at his desk and he hears a little
- 34:20Speaker 1: boy with a stick kind of knocking things around outside
- 34:24Speaker 1: in the alley, and he opens the window and he screams,
- 34:26Speaker 1: are you lost boy, which is of course a reference
- 34:28Speaker 1: to the Lost Yes.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Yeah, we wanted to try to combine the impact and
- 34:34Speaker 2: the devastation and the heaviness and the craziness of inception
- 34:38Speaker 2: combined with a movie like Muppets Treasure Island.
- 34:43Speaker 5: You wanted to make sure that.
- 34:44Speaker 3: We reference every character by name in some way, even
- 34:48Speaker 3: if they aren't. In the film, there's a point where
- 34:51Speaker 3: Dan Pan is walking by the local town mechanic and.
- 34:57Speaker 2: He's he's face, which is a vital role in some
- 35:00Speaker 2: Dean hundreds the mechanic.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Yes, but he's fixing the thing. You're right, go there, Tracy, this.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Is another Bob Iger request.
- 35:09Speaker 6: Really it makes sense when you think about.
- 35:11Speaker 5: It, and it really I'm coming around to it making sense.
- 35:14Speaker 3: And he was sort of fixing the church tower, and
- 35:17Speaker 3: we have Dan Pan running up to this mechanic going,
- 35:20Speaker 3: why are you tickering.
- 35:21Speaker 5: With that bell? You lost boy?
- 35:25Speaker 4: And that that scene happens right after jan is in
- 35:29Speaker 4: the bathroom and she says, I have to take a tinkle.
- 35:32Speaker 5: Yes, and then when she pisses, we see a little
- 35:36Speaker 5: bit of fairy dust in the back, just a little bit.
- 35:38Speaker 3: We do we do because we show the pisshow it's
- 35:43Speaker 3: his family.
- 35:44Speaker 5: There's something special and it's in the piss and it's
- 35:46Speaker 5: in the blood.
- 35:47Speaker 1: And that's very exciting because I guess Tracy, you already
- 35:50Speaker 1: you let us know you're gonna have Darren Aronofsky come
- 35:53Speaker 1: on for that shot.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Yeah, specific shot, because that's that shot. I'll tell you
- 35:58Speaker 3: when it fell out of my depth. I did not
- 36:01Speaker 3: think that I could handle it.
- 36:03Speaker 4: There's no dad stuff there, no, no, no, no no.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I think when mister Eiger, you know, told us that
- 36:09Speaker 3: this is where he wanted us to go with it,
- 36:11Speaker 3: I I tried to take it on and I was
- 36:15Speaker 3: mapping it out of my head and I just got
- 36:17Speaker 3: too freaked out. So, you know, I put in a
- 36:19Speaker 3: call to the guy who the guy who knows what he's.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Doing with that.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Yeah, gritty, It's gonna be a gritty single moment of
- 36:26Speaker 1: the movie. And I'm really excited about it.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Suzzy, are you allowed to talk about some of the
- 36:31Speaker 4: collabs you're doing with some of the music, because I
- 36:33Speaker 4: know we have a little bit of a Megan Trainer
- 36:35Speaker 4: maybe coming into the office.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Okay, Yes, let's talk a little bit about it. There
- 36:39Speaker 1: are some people that are coming in. We're treating this
- 36:41Speaker 1: a little bit like the SpongeBob musical and that we're
- 36:44Speaker 1: having a bunch of different artists create and I you know,
- 36:48Speaker 1: I referenced Spongebog Musical because I worked on that. I
- 36:50Speaker 1: worked on the front of house for that musical for
- 36:52Speaker 1: about three months. He just worked the box office in Okay,
- 36:57Speaker 1: and so I learned a lot from watching it and
- 36:59Speaker 1: it was really great. And and every in that musical,
- 37:02Speaker 1: every song is written by different artists, so we're having
- 37:05Speaker 1: different collabse come in and Megan Traynor is going to
- 37:08Speaker 1: come in. She's writing a song about it's it's actually
- 37:13Speaker 1: Jan Pam's boss who's telling her to get a little
- 37:19Speaker 1: more work done and to be a little less crazy.
- 37:21Speaker 1: And the song is called be a little Less Crazy.
- 37:23Speaker 5: Who's a red coat? She's a red coat, her.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Boss's so her boss is and this is progressive hashtag
- 37:31Speaker 1: work w E r K. A female British soldier, British
- 37:36Speaker 1: red coat who's who's being forced the British government is
- 37:39Speaker 1: forcing them to house the soldier and the soldier ends
- 37:43Speaker 1: up becoming her boss.
- 37:45Speaker 6: And it's and I don't.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Want to say too much, but there may be a
- 37:51Speaker 5: spin off, spin off movie.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Yeah, And let me say, it's so refreshing to have
- 37:57Speaker 4: two women have a scene where they just talk to
- 38:00Speaker 4: each other and they don't talk about men once.
- 38:02Speaker 6: No, exactly, it's so nice. Yeah, it passes.
- 38:06Speaker 2: They just talk about how crazy.
- 38:09Speaker 5: She is, which is yeah, and that passes the test. Yes,
- 38:12Speaker 5: that technically passes the test.
- 38:14Speaker 3: And I checked, and it feels kind of weird that
- 38:18Speaker 3: the only time they're talking to each other is to
- 38:19Speaker 3: call one of them crazy.
- 38:22Speaker 2: But technically.
- 38:25Speaker 5: A dog can't play baseball.
- 38:27Speaker 6: Didn't say anything about that.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Deal, Okay, So I will say I love the idea
- 38:35Speaker 2: that you're bringing in so many different artists.
- 38:37Speaker 6: Let's talk about that.
- 38:38Speaker 2: You've been helping us. You've been helping us so much
- 38:40Speaker 2: with the ideation thing, but none of your music will
- 38:42Speaker 2: actually be in the movie at all, because you've got
- 38:44Speaker 2: all these other artists writing.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Well, I'm collab, It's it's and you know, it's Meghan
- 38:48Speaker 1: Trainer and it's omar On and you know, we got.
- 38:53Speaker 5: Wet and we were talking about let's talk.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I can actually unveil the list right now. It's really exciting.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Megan tin O, Marion, Miguel, Greta van Fleet. No, yeah,
- 39:06Speaker 1: Greta van Fleet. They're writing the big number for us.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Uh for the Dan Pan flashback scene when he was
- 39:13Speaker 1: a boy and he had a bunch of brothers and
- 39:14Speaker 1: they they got wild in the woods in London.
- 39:18Speaker 2: And I heard I heard a rumor and we got
- 39:22Speaker 2: crazy town. Who's sang You're My Butterfly? To do the
- 39:25Speaker 2: theme song.
- 39:26Speaker 1: The ballad yeah, yeah, or the theme song ballad.
- 39:30Speaker 6: The theme song ballad, the theme song ballad, Yeah, We're
- 39:32Speaker 6: starting with a sad song.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Did theaal say yes?
- 39:36Speaker 1: The National said yes? No, The National said yes, which
- 39:38Speaker 1: is really exciting. We got who else is involved, Sophie Tucker,
- 39:43Speaker 1: the the the House Electronica group, It's gonna be We
- 39:50Speaker 1: got guys. I actually just got a text. We got
- 39:53Speaker 1: Duck Sauce, which is yeah, from Barbara streisand they've already
- 39:58Speaker 1: sent me a little clip of it.
- 39:59Speaker 6: You want to hear it? Yeah, Dan Pan, They's so good.
- 40:09Speaker 5: It really cuts to the heart of what this movie's about.
- 40:11Speaker 3: And I will say, it's so great that we've been
- 40:14Speaker 3: able to star stud this the music of this film,
- 40:17Speaker 3: because I know that Disney originally asked Alan Menkin and
- 40:20Speaker 3: he told them, in his words, fuck off, so that
- 40:25Speaker 3: we were able to rebound.
- 40:26Speaker 6: Like this totally. In his words, however, he says.
- 40:29Speaker 3: That, however, he says that he might say it in
- 40:32Speaker 3: a different way, but the essence of it was not
- 40:35Speaker 3: to be crass, but fuck.
- 40:36Speaker 6: Off, fuck off. Yeah.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I think I'm not sure if we've if we've really
- 40:42Speaker 3: painted a picture. I guess The question that was on
- 40:45Speaker 3: our minds throughout the writing process, and the question that
- 40:47Speaker 3: I think is on a lot of viewers' minds is
- 40:49Speaker 3: what exactly does Dan Pan do in this because it
- 40:53Speaker 3: kind of seems like and there's a short answer and
- 40:57Speaker 3: a long answer, right, the short answer is not much, okay,
- 41:01Speaker 3: But the long answer is he's living an entire life.
- 41:04Speaker 3: We see this entire man's life, you know, middle aged
- 41:10Speaker 3: to of course middle age, because he's stuck like that.
- 41:13Speaker 3: But you see him sort of go through all these stages,
- 41:18Speaker 3: walking around getting ticked off at the coffee shop, and
- 41:20Speaker 3: he's getting ticked off about different things as he ages,
- 41:23Speaker 3: you know, because at first he's getting ticked off about
- 41:27Speaker 3: about you know, the the American Revolution, stuff that might
- 41:32Speaker 3: affect like a young man, a college student, a revolutionary thinker.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Then he starts to get ticked off about Walker's canes.
- 41:39Speaker 5: Then he starts to get ticked.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Off about regret ultimately, which is something that happens at
- 41:44Speaker 3: the end of their life, which is something he will
- 41:47Speaker 3: never be able to have.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:49Speaker 5: So it's really.
- 41:51Speaker 3: I'm curious as to where, how, how how do you
- 42:00Speaker 3: guys think we should sell this?
- 42:03Speaker 5: Well, what about this? To you, guys, because I have
- 42:07Speaker 5: an answer. What about this? To you, guys sounds like
- 42:10Speaker 5: a movie people want to watch?
- 42:11Speaker 2: And I have an answer to and I would love
- 42:13Speaker 2: to hear it from you guys.
- 42:14Speaker 5: First I have an answer. But taking the temp here,
- 42:19Speaker 5: what are you guys thinking?
- 42:21Speaker 1: Well, here's so your question gives me a question, right,
- 42:24Speaker 1: which is like if I'm like, oh, so, what makes
- 42:26Speaker 1: people want to watch this? And then I think why
- 42:28Speaker 1: would I want to watch?
- 42:31Speaker 5: And then do you have an answer?
- 42:32Speaker 6: You guys have an answer for that?
- 42:33Speaker 2: Yeah? I got Well, I'm thinking.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, my answer is sort of a it's sort
- 42:42Speaker 3: of a ponderance of the idea of why would anyone want.
- 42:46Speaker 5: To watch this?
- 42:47Speaker 2: And that's another question on top of their question.
- 42:50Speaker 4: And I think as a storyteller, you have to always
- 42:52Speaker 4: ask yourself why, and you should always. I think, even
- 42:57Speaker 4: if you don't know the immediate answer, we know why
- 43:00Speaker 4: because we because we are interested? We're interested?
- 43:02Speaker 6: Right, yeah? Yeah?
- 43:05Speaker 1: And I think the big question right beyond why would
- 43:08Speaker 1: I want to watch this? Why would you want to
- 43:10Speaker 1: watch this? Why would any of us want to see this?
- 43:12Speaker 1: I think the larger question that answers that question is
- 43:16Speaker 1: what else do I have?
- 43:17Speaker 2: To do.
- 43:18Speaker 6: And I think that might be I think that to
- 43:21Speaker 6: me might might be it.
- 43:23Speaker 5: Yeah, that really helps narrow it down.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Because we're just saying Also, just on top of that,
- 43:30Speaker 2: that makes me think of the question what else do
- 43:33Speaker 2: I need to do? But also what else do I
- 43:35Speaker 2: want to do? What other options are there for me
- 43:38Speaker 2: in this world? In a way you know, like like
- 43:41Speaker 2: I just feel I feel like good. I feel good
- 43:44Speaker 2: about that.
- 43:46Speaker 4: I also think there's a whole part of this that
- 43:49Speaker 4: when we're talking about this, it makes me think that
- 43:54Speaker 4: what will happen to me if I don't do this?
- 43:56Speaker 4: Will he will he come for me? And will I
- 43:59Speaker 4: come around to his opinion of him wanting me dead
- 44:02Speaker 4: if I don't do it right?
- 44:07Speaker 2: And I think, and I think to answer all of
- 44:09Speaker 2: these I'm gonna say this, It's got a lot of heart,
- 44:15Speaker 2: It's got a lot of soul. It's got a lot
- 44:19Speaker 2: of fun. It's got a lot of rigamarole and FUNO
- 44:28Speaker 2: every scene.
- 44:29Speaker 3: That's my favorite song in the moviemole.
- 44:33Speaker 5: Oh it's rigamarole the Brits are coming or whatever.
- 44:36Speaker 6: I love that.
- 44:37Speaker 2: And and something I grabbed onto, which is a quote
- 44:43Speaker 2: from Peter Pan which I thought was so app for
- 44:45Speaker 2: this movie is dreams do come true if only we
- 44:48Speaker 2: wish hard enough. You can have anything in your life
- 44:52Speaker 2: if you will sacrifice everything else for it. Yes.
- 44:56Speaker 4: And you know what makes me a little bit interested
- 44:59Speaker 4: in our MOVI movie is that is the logline more
- 45:01Speaker 4: toying with which is a coming of age story with
- 45:04Speaker 4: no age.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Yes, I love that coming of middle age, coming of
- 45:09Speaker 2: middle age.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes it inspires I think a feeling in
- 45:12Speaker 3: viewers of oh what is that?
- 45:15Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's enough for me at this point.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that feels good for me. Yeah, and then that
- 45:20Speaker 2: does it.
- 45:21Speaker 1: I also and I think one of the other reasons
- 45:23Speaker 1: is we forgot to talk about the big the funny sidekick.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Yeah, well this is what I wanted to be up earlier.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Every main Disney character needs a funny sidekick, So yeah,
- 45:33Speaker 2: you take it away, Suzy.
- 45:34Speaker 1: So well, and yeah, this was my idea and I'm
- 45:36Speaker 1: really proud of this. It's it's uh. Dan Pan's sidekick
- 45:41Speaker 1: is his employee, Bob Cratchett, played by uh, none other
- 45:47Speaker 1: than the magnanimous uh Eric stone Street. And he's just
- 45:52Speaker 1: the biggest fucking idiot he needs so dumb.
- 45:56Speaker 5: If you're sitting there wondering if it's that Bob Crotchet.
- 46:00Speaker 3: The answer is yes, I can't be a Christmas Carol
- 46:06Speaker 3: basically in our world.
- 46:08Speaker 2: In our world, Bob cratchit before he gets his job
- 46:12Speaker 2: with Scrooge.
- 46:14Speaker 5: Well, you had to build his resume before.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Working for Scrooge, and and and Bob Wager loves. He said,
- 46:19Speaker 1: we need a crossover in some way. There has to
- 46:22Speaker 1: be across trying.
- 46:23Speaker 2: To make the the the creative universe of all I
- 46:27Speaker 2: p that's not already tied together. So the idea is
- 46:30Speaker 2: to tie in a Christmas story to Peter Pan, and
- 46:34Speaker 2: then to tie in all the Disney IP like all
- 46:37Speaker 2: the Disney Channel original movies. Uh, the time stoppers.
- 46:42Speaker 5: But I love that he wants to start with the
- 46:44Speaker 5: old Men first.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Well, that's how he's doing it.
- 46:47Speaker 6: I will say this right there.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Well, I know Will he's starting with the Old Man,
- 46:50Speaker 1: he's starting with Dickens, and he's starting with Peter Pan.
- 46:53Speaker 1: But then, speaking of the d coms, we should mention this. Uh,
- 46:57Speaker 1: there is a a friend of Dan's that says, I'm
- 47:03Speaker 1: getting on a ship to America and my dream is
- 47:06Speaker 1: to one day go from you know, water to snow.
- 47:12Speaker 1: And his name is Jonathan Tsunami and he's a great
- 47:18Speaker 1: great great great grandfather of Johnny Tsunami.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Which is just I When Bob Iger pitched that, my
- 47:27Speaker 2: first reaction was, I'm gonna get on board with this.
- 47:33Speaker 5: This was a long by the way, it was a
- 47:35Speaker 5: long zoom with Bob. He had a lot of ideas.
- 47:38Speaker 5: It's a lot more than I think I was expecting.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Really funny to see what he focuses on too, and
- 47:43Speaker 1: what he's interested in doing. You know, like we didn't
- 47:46Speaker 1: talk about budget, we didn't talk about locations or deadlines
- 47:50Speaker 1: or anything.
- 47:51Speaker 6: We talked a lot about Easter.
- 47:52Speaker 2: It doesn't care. He's just about the art.
- 47:54Speaker 5: He's just about the art.
- 47:55Speaker 3: And the way you should have seen him on this zoom,
- 47:57Speaker 3: he was sat in a big arm chair smoking a
- 48:01Speaker 3: big cigar in front of a fireplace, and his back
- 48:05Speaker 3: was sort of turned to us like this, and he
- 48:07Speaker 3: was talking to us over the shoulder, and sometimes he
- 48:10Speaker 3: wouldn't even look at us. He just had someone else
- 48:13Speaker 3: holding the camera shooting him in like a very dramatic way.
- 48:18Speaker 3: And you know when sed One says someone something in
- 48:20Speaker 3: that opinion.
- 48:21Speaker 5: You listen to him.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, And also you know we had to take
- 48:24Speaker 1: breaks because he'd bring people in to fire him and
- 48:26Speaker 1: send them out right.
- 48:28Speaker 6: But it was it was really, I mean.
- 48:30Speaker 2: It's just like he's just an idea machine and that's
- 48:33Speaker 2: why it's a dreamster cheamster dream to be a part
- 48:35Speaker 2: of it.
- 48:36Speaker 4: I mean some of the other things he was, it's
- 48:38Speaker 4: a dreamstir wish your heart makes you know what I mean.
- 48:41Speaker 2: I mean, like a crazy pitch that he had which
- 48:43Speaker 2: I loved, was he said, I want there to be
- 48:47Speaker 2: a man who's giving coffee to Dan Pan who says
- 48:51Speaker 2: I'm a vampire and in a couple hundred years I'm
- 48:53Speaker 2: going to go on a date with a mom And
- 48:55Speaker 2: that's of course a tie to the Disney Chill original
- 48:58Speaker 2: movie My Mom's Got a date with a Van Empire.
- 49:01Speaker 2: And I thought when he said that this is gold,
- 49:06Speaker 2: I got I've got to get on board with this soon. Yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 3: He really insisted on this character Eddie, who makes a
- 49:13Speaker 3: cameo and he is seeing cooking a big on a spitfire.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Of course is the Disney Channel original movie Eddie's.
- 49:23Speaker 5: Big cook On.
- 49:26Speaker 2: That was a tie in that.
- 49:30Speaker 5: We don't try to do here. His content soup away, Yes,
- 49:33Speaker 5: content soup yes.
- 49:34Speaker 4: I love when Dan's down on his luck because he
- 49:37Speaker 4: doesn't want America to leave. And he's walking down the
- 49:40Speaker 4: streets of London and there's a little group singing with
- 49:44Speaker 4: the hat for tips and if you look close enough
- 49:46Speaker 4: you'll see the Cheetah Girls.
- 49:48Speaker 5: That's a Cheetah Girls. We got him back.
- 49:51Speaker 6: I do want to mention.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I also just want to really just some shout outs
- 49:55Speaker 1: for the Eddies million Dollar Cookoff shout out. We did
- 49:58Speaker 1: actually end up getting h Taylor Ball, the original Eddie.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Original Eddie, we found him back.
- 50:05Speaker 1: And for the vampire, we didn't did end up getting
- 50:08Speaker 1: Charles Shaughnasy, the original vampire from My Date, and then
- 50:12Speaker 1: we did get Adrian Bylon for just her. And then
- 50:15Speaker 1: we have a couple of mannequins dressed like Raven.
- 50:17Speaker 5: Just yeah, it's c G I and her and I.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Don't want to spoil much more, but there's this beautiful,
- 50:24Speaker 2: powerful scene right after jan Pan explodes into Neverland. Uh,
- 50:33Speaker 2: Bob Cratchit comes up to Dan Pan and Dan Pan's
- 50:38Speaker 2: crying and he's going, where'd she go? Where'd she go?
- 50:41Speaker 2: And Bob Cratchit turns him and goes, sorry, kid, that's Halloween.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Town too, and I thought that was really great because
- 50:50Speaker 2: you both tie in a Chinatown reference and a Halloween
- 50:53Speaker 2: town to reference. I thought, you know, this is this
- 50:57Speaker 2: is a brainiac showing us as muscles.
- 50:59Speaker 4: I'm so glad that I'm finally getting around to understanding
- 51:03Speaker 4: the opinion to.
- 51:04Speaker 6: Do all this totally, totally.
- 51:08Speaker 5: It's a real.
- 51:09Speaker 3: Joy once you come around to the opinion that this
- 51:11Speaker 3: is a good ideas. It's exhilarating because you know, people
- 51:16Speaker 3: think that you have your opinions and these are your
- 51:18Speaker 3: opinions and they're fixable, but they're not.
- 51:20Speaker 5: You can change your opinion. You can change it just.
- 51:25Speaker 2: You like don't Dampan does about the American Revolution. He
- 51:31Speaker 2: comes around to it, and he finally understands just by
- 51:36Speaker 2: seeing his wife explode into a land. He finally understands
- 51:42Speaker 2: the pursuit of American freedom.
- 51:43Speaker 3: And this is because I do think we have to
- 51:45Speaker 3: wrap up soon, but I want to talk because Gordon,
- 51:47Speaker 3: you wove together such a masterful script.
- 51:52Speaker 5: And I would just love to if we could all
- 51:54Speaker 5: go around.
- 51:55Speaker 3: And just say one line that was their favorite line
- 51:59Speaker 3: for the movie, because.
- 52:01Speaker 5: Mine was you was from.
- 52:03Speaker 3: That scene in the end when he's coming around to
- 52:05Speaker 3: the American Revolution and he looks off into the sunset
- 52:09Speaker 3: and he says, those Yanks ain't half bad, and he's southern.
- 52:15Speaker 3: He's sudden and he's suddenly sound.
- 52:18Speaker 5: That choice, when I.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Came around, that was, I mean, that was a huge
- 52:20Speaker 2: choice for me. To put parenthetical southern accent was a
- 52:24Speaker 2: huge choice in I would hit thank you genius. Thanks guys.
- 52:28Speaker 6: I love that line.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta say, probably probably one of my favorite
- 52:33Speaker 1: lines is in the beginning and.
- 52:37Speaker 6: Uh uh he's he's he's asking a little boy, hey,
- 52:42Speaker 6: what time of day is it?
- 52:44Speaker 1: And uh the kid says he looks at the sun.
- 52:47Speaker 1: He goes, well, it looks like to be about three o'clock.
- 52:49Speaker 1: And he goes, wow, you're a real genius. Of course
- 52:51Speaker 1: it reference to the Disney Channel original movie Real Genius.
- 52:54Speaker 1: And I'm really glad I got that in there. I
- 52:59Speaker 1: just love that line, and I think it's I think
- 53:01Speaker 1: it's gonna get a pause in the room.
- 53:02Speaker 6: Well real, yeah, even without the reference, I should mention too,
- 53:06Speaker 6: I mean, this is the new Disney script.
- 53:08Speaker 1: The script is twice as long because we have to
- 53:10Speaker 1: add an actual whole parenthetical applause, applause pause, Well because
- 53:15Speaker 1: it's not a break because we can't assume that. But
- 53:18Speaker 1: we have to leave the applause pauses because.
- 53:20Speaker 2: We like to call it a pause.
- 53:23Speaker 6: A pause, yeah, pause.
- 53:25Speaker 5: For a pause.
- 53:28Speaker 4: I think my favorite line in a moment in the
- 53:31Speaker 4: whole script that is all you Gordon. I just absolutely
- 53:34Speaker 4: love it. A motocross crosses the script crosses the street,
- 53:40Speaker 4: and and yes, and and Dan is so pissed, and
- 53:46Speaker 4: he goes, hey, grow up, and the guy on the
- 53:49Speaker 4: motocross goes, I already am. And believe it or not,
- 53:52Speaker 4: that's the motocross driver from Disney Channel original movie Motocross.
- 53:56Speaker 2: And next to is all the grown ups from the
- 54:00Speaker 2: Grown Ups movie. That's and Wild Hogs. We tied it
- 54:03Speaker 2: all in right there. We got it all in the IP.
- 54:05Speaker 6: That's twentieth IP. So it counts.
- 54:07Speaker 2: It counts now. Thank you guys so much. I will
- 54:10Speaker 2: say one of my favorite moments is just right at
- 54:14Speaker 2: the beginning, the first couple of lines of this movie
- 54:18Speaker 2: kind of get me. It's It's it's Dan Pan sitting
- 54:25Speaker 2: out on a balcony in his home and he says,
- 54:29Speaker 2: just always be waiting for me, a quote from the
- 54:32Speaker 2: original Peter Pan. And then he looks right into camera
- 54:36Speaker 2: and goes, you're probably wondering how I got here. You've
- 54:40Speaker 2: heard of my kid, but have you heard of me?
- 54:43Speaker 2: Boom boom. Then O Marion comes in with the most
- 54:46Speaker 2: silky voice I've ever heard.
- 54:52Speaker 5: O Marion harpsichord that quotes say no more.
- 54:55Speaker 1: And then also, you know, I, I think we have
- 54:57Speaker 1: a lot of taglines that are going to be slapped
- 55:00Speaker 1: on the poster, but one of my newest ones that
- 55:01Speaker 1: I love is you can't spell never Land without.
- 55:03Speaker 3: Dan and yeah technically Yeah, I love that.
- 55:09Speaker 2: I think that's technically either we throw technically or if
- 55:12Speaker 2: you rearrange it. I think that's I also love I.
- 55:18Speaker 5: Love the alt version of it. You can't spell never
- 55:20Speaker 5: Land without never.
- 55:22Speaker 2: That's good, Yeah, yes, yeah, sure that's also what could work.
- 55:28Speaker 2: You can't spell never Land without land, just saying that too,
- 55:32Speaker 2: you can't.
- 55:33Speaker 3: I was tossing around in the wee hours, was you
- 55:35Speaker 3: can't spell never Land without Eva?
- 55:38Speaker 5: Yeah, is the name of my neighbor.
- 55:42Speaker 2: She's so nice. She's been putting up with us.
- 55:44Speaker 3: She's so nice, and and she's gonna let us use
- 55:47Speaker 3: her pool, and she gave.
- 55:49Speaker 6: Us those rice crispies. But she made them with fruity pebbles.
- 55:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it was wild.
- 55:54Speaker 3: And ask me where she gets this stuff. Don't ask
- 55:57Speaker 3: me where she gets this stuff because.
- 55:58Speaker 2: And that for me and never see that.
- 56:01Speaker 5: This team is on fire.
- 56:03Speaker 6: I love this team. I'm looking for roommates. By the way,
- 56:05Speaker 6: if you go.
- 56:06Speaker 2: To no thank you, no thank you.
- 56:10Speaker 5: No thank you, yeah, no thank you. But I do
- 56:12Speaker 5: appreciate it.
- 56:13Speaker 2: I do appreciate. Just to summarize, go see uh d
- 56:18Speaker 2: pan dad pan dad, which we never talked about that
- 56:21Speaker 2: it's called pan dad.
- 56:24Speaker 5: Well we did because we talked about how it rhymes.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Well maybe maybe then it's it's you can't spell neverland
- 56:30Speaker 2: without pan dad. See I think true.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Well, I'm coming around to the idea of there being
- 56:37Speaker 3: a pe in Neverland, like you just said.
- 56:39Speaker 6: Never lamped, Yes, never never planned, never.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Plan never land because never planned.
- 56:50Speaker 5: Ter cotta draw that.
- 56:51Speaker 6: Draw never was neverland was never planned? Is so legitimately good.
- 56:57Speaker 5: I'm drawing a huge condom on Dan. Okay, okay, because
- 57:02Speaker 5: it wasn't planned.
- 57:03Speaker 3: However he wasn't remember it. However you remember it, whatever
- 57:06Speaker 3: your process is. I respect that.
- 57:09Speaker 2: That is so funny. I want to change the whole movie.
- 57:11Speaker 2: He didn't know he was going to have a kid.
- 57:13Speaker 6: That's it.
- 57:15Speaker 5: We have to get back We have to get back
- 57:16Speaker 5: on with Bob.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:18Speaker 4: If we don't get back in that room, our ankle
- 57:21Speaker 4: bracelets are going to start going off.
