- 0:43Speaker 2: Hi. Hello, Happy Thursday evening.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Happy Thursday.
- 0:48Speaker 2: What a week, I know, right, A lot a week,
- 0:52Speaker 2: What a big big a week of a lot of
- 0:54Speaker 2: big things. My little mom and lots of people, lots
- 0:58Speaker 2: of people. My little mama was done with middle site.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Today It's gonna be high school. Did Mama cry a
- 1:05Speaker 2: little bit? Me and Elbowfeet didn't cry near as much
- 1:07Speaker 2: as we thought we would. But so, uh, when they
- 1:11Speaker 2: were bringing the eighth graders like into the auditorium, they
- 1:14Speaker 2: were like, so you're gonna hear a lot of clapping
- 1:17Speaker 2: because it's it's a third through eighth grade school that
- 1:22Speaker 2: it goes to. And so they had all the students
- 1:24Speaker 2: and the teachers like clap the eighth graders the whole
- 1:27Speaker 2: way down three floors to the auditorium. And me and
- 1:31Speaker 2: Albow Feter are just like, oh that is happening already, amazing.
- 1:36Speaker 2: It's sweet, but no, it was quite lovely.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I would just have to say, when that comes time
- 1:42Speaker 1: for monkey butt double h better have a bottle in
- 1:46Speaker 1: the car. I mean, because you know she lived with this,
- 1:51Speaker 1: We took her to her first day of kindergarten, so I,
- 1:55Speaker 1: oh my god, Oh I can't imagine, Mama Lama.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I know. Afterwards, I asked Doublaphy. I was like, where's
- 2:02Speaker 2: the nearest liquor store because I need some boost from
- 2:06Speaker 2: this weekend for tonight's show. He's like, well, there is
- 2:08Speaker 2: one down the street. And he's like, but it's on
- 2:10Speaker 2: OSU campus and it's rush hour. And I was like,
- 2:13Speaker 2: you know what, never mind, I'm too old for that. Hello, Hi, Wali,

- 4:10Speaker 1: driving back from Houston. They just drop it in the
- 4:13Speaker 1: middle of a sentence.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Oh.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I was like, that's bad, So I sent them a
- 4:18Speaker 1: little bought at.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Least I'm the TV. You know, when advertising there'd be
- 4:24Speaker 2: specific breaks.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Well, but we're finding on I think it's Prime video
- 4:29Speaker 1: where we've been watching and they just drop an attu
- 4:33Speaker 1: in the middle of a scene. So it's the same thing, like,
- 4:36Speaker 1: can y'all not do better?
- 4:38Speaker 2: I know, it's so annoying. I don't even get me
- 4:39Speaker 2: started on Amazon, I talk about him anyway.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Tell us, mama, what we are covering tonight?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Well, tonight we are getting into part two of Buried Alive,
- 4:51Speaker 2: the case of Michelinawan Dauska. Sorry, I doing my best,
- 4:58Speaker 2: and this is part two of this story who she
- 5:02Speaker 2: was buried alive by her fiance slash Pardners slash baby Daddy.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And we have reached Yeah, we've caught him an aushole.
- 5:14Speaker 2: He is an asshole. Let's be honest here. He's not great.
- 5:16Speaker 2: He is not great. And so that is a story
- 5:19Speaker 2: we'll be finishing up tonight and already off the gate.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I just want to say, she is so to be
- 5:26Speaker 2: able to do what she's about to do. That we're
- 5:27Speaker 2: about to tell you is just so unbelievable. I'm believed
- 5:31Speaker 2: it is. I don't think I could do it at all.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So, but when it kicks in, when it's you never
- 5:38Speaker 1: know what happens when you're putting that situation.
- 5:41Speaker 2: That's true, that's true. Well, what are we drinking today
- 5:45Speaker 2: before we get into the story. Let's tell you real
- 5:47Speaker 2: quick what we're drinking tonight, because we both had a
- 5:49Speaker 2: crazy week that we got wine deliveries.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Snoop Dogg. I am doing Nineteen Crimes Kelly Rose, because
- 5:58Speaker 1: I need a little Snoop Dogg action and because of
- 6:01Speaker 1: twelve percent, I'll hold by volume, which I needed because
- 6:06Speaker 1: it's been awake.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been a week. Well, tonight, I'm drinking Nobilo,
- 6:11Speaker 2: which apparently is one of your favorite wines. I've never
- 6:14Speaker 2: had it, and it is delicious. It's from New Zealand.
- 6:18Speaker 1: It is from New Zealand. It's a key week.
- 6:21Speaker 2: It's a Savagnon blanc and it is quite delicious. With
- 6:26Speaker 2: three hundred years of family wine making tradition, which is
- 6:30Speaker 2: wild when I read that each bottle of Nobelo is
- 6:34Speaker 2: a promise of New Zealand wine making its finest our
- 6:39Speaker 2: savignon blanc has distinct notes of fresh melon and citrus,
- 6:43Speaker 2: a perfect match for your favorite salad, seafood, and poultry
- 6:47Speaker 2: dishes with twelve point five percent volume of alcohol and
- 6:51Speaker 2: it's it is delicious. They're not wrong about the citrus,
- 6:55Speaker 2: but it's not too much. It's just enough.
- 6:57Speaker 1: It's just right. But I have to be careful with
- 7:00Speaker 1: because all of a sudden, I'll have a glass and
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'll be like, oh shit, I have the whole bottle
- 7:05Speaker 1: because it's just good. It's flavorful light. Okay, lady, you
- 7:11Speaker 1: crack me up. Yes, to go through the checkpoint. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: it's not because I'm bringing anything bad. I just need
- 7:18Speaker 1: to know if I need to wrap it. Okay, that's
- 7:22Speaker 1: what I'm inant. And yes, we will try to meet
- 7:24Speaker 1: up before this show if you have time, because you're
- 7:28Speaker 1: the star. I mean, I'm just a person that's there.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So before we get into tonight's episode in Michelina's Impossible Escape,
- 7:41Speaker 1: let's look back at how we got into the woods
- 7:44Speaker 1: to just refresh everybody's nightmare. Yes, we met Michelina Luendoska,
- 7:51Speaker 1: a young mother who moved to Poland to Hudders From
- 7:55Speaker 1: Poland to Huddersbuilt, England, chasing a future with Marson Casper Zach,
- 8:01Speaker 1: but that dream quickly soured.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Marston became consumed by a dark transformation fueled by
- 8:10Speaker 2: bodybuilding ego and a very dangerous cycle of steroid use.
- 8:16Speaker 2: So as his muscles grew, his humanity seemed to shrink.
- 8:21Speaker 2: He began a campaign of emotional and verbal abuse, tearing
- 8:25Speaker 2: Michelina down and treating her like an obstacle in his
- 8:29Speaker 2: own home.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And just because I'm petty, I hope this manhood drunk too.
- 8:35Speaker 1: But anyway, everything came to a head on May twenty eighth.
- 8:42Speaker 1: What is today's date?
- 8:45Speaker 2: May twenty eighth? Today?
- 8:47Speaker 1: What this was?
- 8:49Speaker 2: Realist?
- 8:50Speaker 1: In twenty eleven? Holy shit, Bosters, so.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Wow sorry frcos.
- 8:56Speaker 1: On May twenty, twenty eleven, Marson lured Michelina into a
- 9:00Speaker 1: trap with the one thing she wanted most hope. He
- 9:05Speaker 1: promised a fresh start and a shopping trip, but instead
- 9:10Speaker 1: he met her with the three hundred thousand volt stun gun.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Along with the seventeen year old accomplice Patrick Woars, Marson
- 9:22Speaker 1: bound Mischelina with tape, shoved her into a cardboard box,
- 9:27Speaker 1: and drove her to a secluded wooded area.
- 9:32Speaker 2: And there, while she was still conscious and breathing, they
- 9:36Speaker 2: dug a hole. And they didn't just dump her, No,
- 9:40Speaker 2: they placed her in the box, head first, and then
- 9:44Speaker 2: shoveled the earth over her until the world went silent.
- 9:49Speaker 2: And then Marson and Patrick drove away to withdraw her
- 9:53Speaker 2: money from the bank and play video games, because, of
- 9:57Speaker 2: course they did, leaving Mischelina in a lit thing tomb.
- 10:01Speaker 2: But they underestimated one thing, and that is the sheer
- 10:05Speaker 2: will of a mother who refused to stay buried. So
- 10:10Speaker 2: let's get into where we lived.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Off yet, and people need to realize, you don't jack
- 10:16Speaker 1: with Mama cub, you know, Mama Lion when it comes
- 10:19Speaker 1: to her cubs or Mama Bear, you don't. Okay, Now,
- 10:24Speaker 1: Michelina decided she was not going to die in that box,
- 10:29Speaker 1: not like this, not discarded like trash and forgotten by
- 10:33Speaker 1: the world, and most importantly, she was not leaving her
- 10:38Speaker 1: son behind to be raised by a monster.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Michelina forced her fingers towards the small handle holds in
- 10:46Speaker 2: the cardboard, pushing until she felt the dirt. There was
- 10:51Speaker 2: no denying the geography of her nightmare anymore. She closed
- 10:55Speaker 2: her eyes and prayed a silent, desperate plea into the dark,
- 11:01Speaker 2: and then she waited.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Oh, pulled that box back up? Oh yes, that I
- 11:10Speaker 1: mean I'm getting emotional look at that box. Imagine I
- 11:14Speaker 1: mean being locked in a box and all of that,
- 11:16Speaker 1: but then to be buried underground.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Yeah, if you're listening on a podcast and you come
- 11:21Speaker 2: over to our YouTube channel, see friend in my time,
- 11:23Speaker 2: we have visualists for our YouTube audience while we're recording this,
- 11:28Speaker 2: So it's it's wild the size of that box. I mean,
- 11:33Speaker 2: it's bigger than I don't know what I thought it
- 11:35Speaker 2: would Peter have fit a person in there, but it wow. Yeah,
- 11:42Speaker 2: there's so much tape on it too, I know.
- 11:44Speaker 1: And that's that is my nightmare. Echoes, we don't need
- 11:48Speaker 1: double the Lama. Okay, you can see your place some
- 11:51Speaker 1: one day, but we do not need two of her. Okay, no, no,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I love her, but to no. Now, she listened for
- 12:00Speaker 1: any vibration of footsteps, any lingering voices. When nothing but
- 12:06Speaker 1: the heavy, oppressive silence of the forest floor pressed back
- 12:09Speaker 1: against her, she realized the truth. If she was going
- 12:14Speaker 1: to get out, it was all up to her. She
- 12:16Speaker 1: was the only one who could do it. She was
- 12:19Speaker 1: the only one who could save herself.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Now her hands and feet were still bound, and the
- 12:26Speaker 2: tape across her mouth that made every breath a struggle.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Every movement of hers was restricted, and every attempt to
- 12:34Speaker 2: shift her weight was an exhausting battle against physics. She
- 12:39Speaker 2: tried to kick to larch to find some leverage within
- 12:43Speaker 2: the cramped walls of the box, but nothing worked.
- 12:49Speaker 1: The panic began to rise again in her, but she
- 12:53Speaker 1: anchored herself to the thought of her son once more.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That that love gave her the clarity to remember one thing.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Her engagement ring, the very ring she had worn as
- 13:06Speaker 1: a symbol of a future she believed in, was still
- 13:09Speaker 1: on her finger. With trembling, careful movements, she was able
- 13:15Speaker 1: to work it loose. She then used it for a
- 13:18Speaker 1: purpose was never intended for. It was now a jacket,
- 13:23Speaker 1: desperate survival tool, and I am here for it.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I had no idea. I mean, that's just good to know.
- 13:30Speaker 2: I mean, hopefully we're never in that. Suh. Gosh, yeah, her.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Wow, her ring looks a lot like mine.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Oh. Interesting. So slowly and painfully she began sawing through
- 13:44Speaker 2: the tape around her legs, and it was agonizingly slow work,
- 13:50Speaker 2: but eventually the tape did give away. She moved to
- 13:54Speaker 2: her hands, freeing them next, and finally ripped the tape
- 13:58Speaker 2: from her mouth. She pulled in a lung full of
- 14:01Speaker 2: stale cardboard scented air, fighting to stay focused, but freeing
- 14:08Speaker 2: her limbs was only the first step. She was still
- 14:12Speaker 2: in a box inside of the earth. Which, yeah, this
- 14:19Speaker 2: next part I don't even understand. I don't understand how
- 14:21Speaker 2: it happens, but it's wow.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Using the ring, she began cutting at the handle holes,
- 14:28Speaker 1: widening them, tearing at the wet cardboard to create space.
- 14:32Speaker 1: As the opening grew, the dirt began to spill in.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It started as a trickle and then became a heavy pore,
- 14:41Speaker 1: threatening to fill the box and bury her all over
- 14:45Speaker 1: again from the inside out.
- 14:48Speaker 2: But instead of stopping her, the falling dirt became her ladder.
- 14:53Speaker 2: She abandoned precision for raw urgency, Using her bare hands
- 14:58Speaker 2: to rip at the weak and cardboard. The box began
- 15:02Speaker 2: to disintegrate under her sheer will. She tore the whole
- 15:07Speaker 2: wider and wider, until finally she was able to force
- 15:11Speaker 2: her head through the opening. And you know, she doesn't
- 15:15Speaker 2: know which ways up or down.
- 15:17Speaker 1: And she doesn't know anything.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I mean, I guess maybe, But also I think at
- 15:22Speaker 2: the same time that i'd be very disorienting even when
- 15:25Speaker 2: your placed head first, So maybe I guess you might
- 15:28Speaker 2: feel the blood rushing there. Yeah, even then, I don't know.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Because the dirt had ziled the bottom of the box,
- 15:39Speaker 1: it had lifted her body upward. When she pushed through
- 15:43Speaker 1: the top of the box, her head broke above the
- 15:46Speaker 1: level of the grave. She had reached the surface.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Oh my god. And she sucked in the cool night
- 15:54Speaker 2: air and immediately began to scream. And her voice cut
- 15:59Speaker 2: into the stillness of the woods, and it was raw.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It was desperate, and it was pleading for anyone to
- 16:06Speaker 2: hear her. But no one came. The forests had swallowed
- 16:11Speaker 2: her cries, and in the distance she could hear the faint,
- 16:15Speaker 2: haunting sound of music, the sound of a world that
- 16:18Speaker 2: had no idea. She was fighting for her life, but
- 16:22Speaker 2: around her there were only endless, silent trees.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But Mischelina didn't stop. She couldn't afford to. She kept
- 16:33Speaker 1: hearing at the remains of the box, kicking at the dirt,
- 16:37Speaker 1: caving in around her legs, forcing her body upward through
- 16:41Speaker 1: the narrow opening. Every movement cost her energy she really
- 16:45Speaker 1: didn't have, but she knew that stopping meant dying. Peace
- 16:51Speaker 1: by peace, she freed her torso than her arms.
- 16:56Speaker 2: And she dug her fingers into the loose soil at
- 16:59Speaker 2: the surface. Using every ounce of primal strength left in her,
- 17:04Speaker 2: she pulled and dragged and crawled her way out of
- 17:08Speaker 2: the ground that had tried to claim her. And suddenly
- 17:11Speaker 2: she was standing.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Can you imagine that? Feeling?
- 17:15Speaker 2: All just oh?
- 17:19Speaker 1: She stood there, shivering and covered in earth, looking down
- 17:23Speaker 1: at the very hole where she had been left to suffocate.
- 17:27Speaker 1: For a moment, the world slowed down. The collision of
- 17:32Speaker 1: shock and disbelief and adrenaline were overwhelming. Mischelina had just
- 17:40Speaker 1: done the impossible.
- 17:43Speaker 2: But the terror wasn't over. She was disoriented, not knowing
- 17:48Speaker 2: how long she'd been under the dirt where she was,
- 17:52Speaker 2: or most importantly, how close Marsin and Patrick might be.
- 17:58Speaker 2: She paused, straining to listen to the dark woods, making
- 18:03Speaker 2: sure she was truly alone. There were no voices and
- 18:08Speaker 2: no footsteps, and no sign of Marson or Patrick. The
- 18:13Speaker 2: silence was her signal, and that is when she turned
- 18:17Speaker 2: and ran.
- 18:19Speaker 1: She tore through the trees, pushing through the darkness with
- 18:23Speaker 1: the last of her reserves until the dense forest finally broke.
- 18:28Speaker 1: She stumbled out onto a road just as a pair
- 18:31Speaker 1: of headlights cut through the darkness. She didn't hide, nor
- 18:35Speaker 1: did she hesitate. She stepped directly into their path and
- 18:40Speaker 1: flagged down the driver Dan rockily.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Now that was the moment that saved her, because Dan, somehow,
- 18:51Speaker 2: I'll be honest, if I was Dan in this scenario
- 18:54Speaker 2: and a woman covered in dirts like at nights, I
- 19:00Speaker 2: don't know, I don't know what I would have done,
- 19:02Speaker 2: very wild to see, but thank goodness, he did what
- 19:06Speaker 2: he did, so Dan didn't second guess the terrified, dirt
- 19:10Speaker 2: streaked woman standing in the middle of the road, And
- 19:14Speaker 2: once she was in the car, Dan immediately called the police,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and as they sped towards the station, the night blurring past,
- 19:23Speaker 2: the reality of what had happened began to spill out
- 19:26Speaker 2: in jagged fragments. I mean, how do you tell people
- 19:32Speaker 2: this truly unbelievable story.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I don't know, and this driver doesn't know you, and
- 19:37Speaker 1: he's like, oh my god, I could have hit her.
- 19:39Speaker 1: This woman's I mean, what if it's a setup? What
- 19:42Speaker 1: if she's wanting to get in your car because she
- 19:44Speaker 1: has a partner. I mean, there had to be a
- 19:47Speaker 1: lot going through his mind.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Well even her. I mean I could imagine like how
- 19:53Speaker 2: her brain must be like rap, she just saved her life.
- 19:57Speaker 1: She is this arrivor mode way over. Yeah.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Once inside the safety of the station, Michelina laid it
- 20:08Speaker 1: all out. She told them about the apology text that
- 20:13Speaker 1: felt like a beginning, the hopeful afternoon spent getting ready
- 20:17Speaker 1: for a date that was actually a death sentence. And guys,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you that to me is even
- 20:24Speaker 1: more cruel. Getting her to get all dulled up, all
- 20:28Speaker 1: this hope to do that, that's just another it's disturbing.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And then three hundred thousand volts that turned her world
- 20:38Speaker 1: to black. She described the box, the sounds of the shovel,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and the suffocating weight of the earth.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Well, it was a story that sounded statistically impossible, except
- 20:53Speaker 2: that she was sitting right there, breathing living proof that
- 20:58Speaker 2: it was all true. She was surrounded by officers, safe
- 21:03Speaker 2: at last, but the relief was instantly swallowed by a new,
- 21:08Speaker 2: even more urgent kind of panic. The fear was no
- 21:12Speaker 2: longer about her own life. It was about the life
- 21:15Speaker 2: she had left behind.
- 21:19Speaker 1: She begged the detectives to go to the house to
- 21:22Speaker 1: get her son, to pull him away from the man
- 21:25Speaker 1: she now knew was a monster. Her panic was frantic
- 21:31Speaker 1: and visceral. She knew what Marson was capable of, and
- 21:36Speaker 1: the thought of her child alone with him was more
- 21:40Speaker 1: than she could bear.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Same m but the wheels of justice turned with a cold,
- 21:47Speaker 2: methodical pace. The police couldn't just storm the house on
- 21:52Speaker 2: a word. They had to secure the facts first. They
- 21:55Speaker 2: had to build a case that was undeniable and iron clad.
- 22:01Speaker 2: They had to document the evidence of her survival before
- 22:03Speaker 2: they could move in on the men who tried to
- 22:05Speaker 2: take it from her.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna just say, I personally think, if a woman
- 22:13Speaker 1: comes and tells you that story and she is covered
- 22:17Speaker 1: in dirt, I think if you find where she was buried,
- 22:22Speaker 1: that's all the evidence you me just go get the kid.
- 22:25Speaker 1: You can figure out the shit later, my opinion, figure
- 22:28Speaker 1: the shit out later. Detective Griffin moved with a sense
- 22:32Speaker 1: of urgency that did match Michelina's terror, dispatching officers to
- 22:38Speaker 1: locate the site she had described see. They found it
- 22:42Speaker 1: exactly where she said it would be hidden in the
- 22:45Speaker 1: shadows of the woods near the golf club.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Now the scene was a chilling testament to what she
- 22:53Speaker 2: had just endured. There was the freshly disturbed, earthy, ragged
- 22:59Speaker 2: remains of the cardboard box, still partially submerged, and that
- 23:05Speaker 2: very heavy tree limb dragged over the top in a crude,
- 23:09Speaker 2: quite frankly desperate attempt to hide the crime. And it's
- 23:12Speaker 2: a big log. Okay, it's pretty bad.
- 23:16Speaker 1: She got lucky that they were stupid.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Yes, true, she did. Officers meticulously documented the scene, making
- 23:24Speaker 2: sure to capture every angle of the hole that was
- 23:27Speaker 2: meant to be a final resting place.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Standing there, looking at the shallow pit, one thing became
- 23:36Speaker 1: hauntingly clear. Michelina had survived by pure, unadulterated will. Martin
- 23:45Speaker 1: and Patrick had been arrogant and thankfully sloppy. They hadn't
- 23:51Speaker 1: dug the hole deep enough, and their work was rushed
- 23:54Speaker 1: their men. The grave was only one hundred feet from
- 23:59Speaker 1: the far less secluded than they had imagined. Their incompetence,
- 24:06Speaker 1: paired with Michelina's refusal to die, had written the ending
- 24:11Speaker 1: of the story. And she's freaking amazing.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I'm so glad that they're idiots. I am. I mean
- 24:21Speaker 2: they I don't know the fact that you think you
- 24:24Speaker 2: can take somebody's life like that and be so like
- 24:29Speaker 2: the amount of arrogance and make her.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Get dressed up. You do this, and then you go
- 24:35Speaker 1: play video games.
- 24:36Speaker 2: You play video games.
- 24:37Speaker 1: They did not give about what they did.
- 24:41Speaker 2: No, and quite frankly, this is a lot of suffering
- 24:45Speaker 2: that she would have done before she had Like, this
- 24:48Speaker 2: is very cruel, just like.
- 24:51Speaker 1: The stunt gun. And then they tied her up, and
- 24:54Speaker 1: then they kept doing things and left her there for
- 24:55Speaker 1: a couple hours, then brought her something to drink. They
- 24:59Speaker 1: toyed with her and tortured her.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very disturbing. It's unbelievable that you that anybody
- 25:07Speaker 2: can do that to another person. Yeah, let alone somebody
- 25:10Speaker 2: you had a child with, who nerved your child. It's disgusting. Now,
- 25:17Speaker 2: with the grave evidence documented, the police felt they had
- 25:21Speaker 2: enough to move. They descended on the house Michelina shared
- 25:24Speaker 2: with Marson and his parents, the very place where her
- 25:28Speaker 2: nightmare had begun only hours before.
- 25:33Speaker 1: When they burst inside, they found Marson and Patrick doing
- 25:37Speaker 1: something so mundane it defied logic. They were sitting there
- 25:43Speaker 1: controllers in hand, still playing their fucking video games. Guys,
- 25:48Speaker 1: there was no panic, There was no remorse from them. Okay,
- 25:53Speaker 1: just picture this. They looked like two dudes enjoying a
- 25:56Speaker 1: quiet Saturday evening gaming, as if they hadn't just shoveled
- 26:01Speaker 1: dirt onto the face of the woman who loved Marson.
- 26:07Speaker 1: The police didn't hesitate, and both men were handcuffed and
- 26:11Speaker 1: hauled into custody on the spot. And I'm sad that
- 26:16Speaker 1: I couldn't find that they had resisted arrest, because man,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I'm sure the officers would have loved a few extra
- 26:25Speaker 1: right now.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Back at the station, Marsin sat in the interrogation room
- 26:30Speaker 2: and began to spend a web of lies. There was
- 26:33Speaker 2: as insulting as it was delusional. With everything that Martin
- 26:38Speaker 2: has done so far, So he didn't confess to attempted murder. No,
- 26:43Speaker 2: I don't know. Instead, he just tried to minimize the
- 26:48Speaker 2: sheer horror he put the mother of his child through.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, guys, buckle up because you thought it was crazy,
- 26:56Speaker 1: It's about to get crazier because guess what, guys.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I don't know. Just before we get there, I just
- 27:01Speaker 2: want to preface I don't know how he thought if
- 27:04Speaker 2: this sounded better.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I'm not sure either. I'm not sure either, but I
- 27:09Speaker 1: don't know how his brain works, and I'm kind of going.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Well, oh, well, as we know anyway, go ahead, you
- 27:17Speaker 2: tell you tell them so, guys.
- 27:20Speaker 1: He claimed it was just meant to scare her. It
- 27:24Speaker 1: was just a way to teach her a lesson. Yeah,
- 27:29Speaker 1: what lesson, sir, is what I want to say. So,
- 27:33Speaker 1: in his twisted version of reality, burying a woman alive
- 27:38Speaker 1: and sealing her in a cardboard box was just a
- 27:41Speaker 1: temporary scare tactic. He told detectives they were totally going
- 27:46Speaker 1: to go back and get her once she had learned
- 27:50Speaker 1: whatever lesson he felt she needed. Guys, I want y'all
- 27:54Speaker 1: to let that sit in. Okay, he wanted to teach
- 27:59Speaker 1: her a lesson? Okay, he framed a slow, suffocating death
- 28:05Speaker 1: as a prank.
- 28:08Speaker 2: How did he think this sounds better?
- 28:10Speaker 1: He's a fucked hard that's why. Yeah, man, sorry for
- 28:15Speaker 1: the language.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I mean, who gives you the right to teach somebody
- 28:22Speaker 2: else a lesson? First of all? And two?
- 28:27Speaker 1: And who does that kind of lesson?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:30Speaker 1: How is that a lesson for anyone?
- 28:33Speaker 2: Marsion's an idiot now, But even Marson's own lies couldn't
- 28:39Speaker 2: hold up under the weight of the facts. He admitted
- 28:42Speaker 2: to one detail that shattered his joke narrative. I mean
- 28:46Speaker 2: it was already shy to begin with, but he did
- 28:48Speaker 2: himself no favors because he had taken micheline it's bank
- 28:52Speaker 2: card and which your own five hundred pounds and handed
- 28:55Speaker 2: that cash over to Patrick. Oh, sir, you are so dumb.
- 29:04Speaker 2: We are so happy you are so dumb.
- 29:06Speaker 1: You're the adult. Patrick is the seventeen year old.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean that's going to get some conspiracy charges.
- 29:13Speaker 2: That's what that's going to do.
- 29:15Speaker 1: And that is where the prank dies. Because if this
- 29:18Speaker 1: was a joke, why did it involve robbery? Why did
- 29:22Speaker 1: he need to recruit a teenager and pay him for
- 29:25Speaker 1: his help. You don't pay someone to help play a prank. Guys,
- 29:31Speaker 1: you pay them to help you commit a crime. It
- 29:34Speaker 1: wasn't a joke. It was a contract deal and it
- 29:38Speaker 1: was a plan.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Excuse me, Oh no, my Lama burps are becoming amos.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Had wine before the show. You have them now, lady,
- 29:50Speaker 2: and Grace has stupid and incompetent, just the way we
- 29:54Speaker 2: like them. Huh good, it should be now. Marson and
- 30:00Speaker 2: were officially charged with kidnapping and attempted murder, charges that
- 30:06Speaker 2: finally reflected the gravity of the darkness Michelina had crawled
- 30:10Speaker 2: out of. But the investigators began to dig deeper into
- 30:16Speaker 2: Morrison's life, and they realized the box in the woods
- 30:20Speaker 2: might not have been the only horror he was hiding.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah, he's full of great ideas. Yeah.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Once Marson was locked away in a cell, investigators returned
- 30:33Speaker 1: to the family home. This time, they weren't looking for clues.
- 30:39Speaker 1: They were performing a LAMA approved deep dive search for
- 30:44Speaker 1: any and all evidence they could find, Okay, looking for
- 30:49Speaker 1: the surface level stuff. They were doing a deep dive, okay,
- 30:55Speaker 1: And what they pulled from that house shifted the entire
- 30:59Speaker 1: energy of the case from a domestic core to something
- 31:03Speaker 1: much more sinister.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Explosives m h and y'all, we aren't talking about some
- 31:12Speaker 2: like firecrackers or fireworks. No, we are talking about significant
- 31:19Speaker 2: quantities of makeshift components capable of being assembled into powerful
- 31:26Speaker 2: destructive devices. Remember, he just worked at a meat processing plant.
- 31:30Speaker 2: There's no reason to need any of this, and it
- 31:33Speaker 2: really does make you wonder like, what was his Indian here?
- 31:40Speaker 2: What all is happening with this guy?
- 31:44Speaker 1: So the discovery added a terrifying layer to Marson's profile.
- 31:50Speaker 1: It was no longer just about what he had done.
- 31:53Speaker 1: It was about what else he was planning to do?
- 31:57Speaker 1: Would that find the six skyrocketed and additional charges or
- 32:04Speaker 1: stacked on an already heavy pile. And I love that
- 32:08Speaker 1: for him.
- 32:09Speaker 2: And we're in England for this too, so you know,
- 32:13Speaker 2: they have different walls and different things, you know, So
- 32:20Speaker 2: I'm not surprised about that at all. Now, when it
- 32:24Speaker 2: came time to face the music, Marson and Patrick admitted
- 32:29Speaker 2: to the kidnapping. I mean, did they have a choice
- 32:30Speaker 2: now do Yeah? They figured the evidence was too high
- 32:36Speaker 2: to dodge that one, and I mean, yeah, walk you
- 32:42Speaker 2: no defense attorney is uh yeah, they're not going to
- 32:46Speaker 2: be able to do a bunch of that. But when
- 32:49Speaker 2: it came to the charge of attempted murder, that is
- 32:53Speaker 2: when they drew a line in the stand. Okay, with
- 32:56Speaker 2: both defendants pleading not guilty, high winks. Happy to see
- 33:00Speaker 2: you here, and let me tell you, justice is a
- 33:05Speaker 2: very generous word for what happened next. So prepare yourselves.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I want you to stop a thake. That's where they
- 33:14Speaker 1: drew the line in the sand. Yeah, just a prank,
- 33:18Speaker 1: I mean, Harry, just a prank. A prank is putting
- 33:21Speaker 1: a rubber snake in Lama's bed on our next trip.
- 33:26Speaker 2: That I might that I'll probably catch attempted murder charges
- 33:30Speaker 2: on Terry. Okay, just to let you know, get the
- 33:33Speaker 2: bail money ready, I didn't in the UK, Okay.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I know, isn't that crazy. We did not plan that.
- 33:43Speaker 2: No, not at all. I didn't.
- 33:45Speaker 1: We don't have that much fourth.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Sometimes, oh that's not true. Sometimes I plan the cases,
- 33:51Speaker 2: I mean, but not of those times. It's interesting.
- 33:55Speaker 1: In December twenty eleven, the trial began. The story that
- 34:00Speaker 1: had been buried in the Huddersfield Woods was finally dragged
- 34:04Speaker 1: into the light of a courtroom in Michelina. She had
- 34:08Speaker 1: to do another hardest thing imaginable. She took the stand.
- 34:16Speaker 2: So's there she was. She sat just feet away from
- 34:21Speaker 2: the man who had shocked her, bound her and shoveled
- 34:25Speaker 2: dirt over her face. And she looked at the court
- 34:30Speaker 2: and told them with absolute bone chilling certainty, quote I
- 34:36Speaker 2: am sure that he was going to kill the end quote.
- 34:40Speaker 2: And it wasn't a guess. It wasn't a theory. It
- 34:44Speaker 2: was a fact that she had lived. I mean, there
- 34:47Speaker 2: is no I don't know if he didn't know that.
- 34:52Speaker 2: If you put somebody in a box underground, that guy,
- 34:55Speaker 2: that's that's not.
- 34:56Speaker 1: A prank, people. A prank is something funny where everybody
- 35:01Speaker 1: at the end of it laughs. Right, that's a prank. Hello,
- 35:06Speaker 1: monkey butt. The defense led by Julian Goose. Could you
- 35:13Speaker 1: imagine being an attorney, a defense attorney, and your last
- 35:16Speaker 1: name was Goose? Okay, I want to say, is dut
- 35:18Speaker 1: dut Goose? But anyway, he tried to play the ultimate
- 35:22Speaker 1: gas light, Okay, tried to soften the monster.
- 35:27Speaker 2: You know.
- 35:28Speaker 1: They argue that Marson only wanted to scare her. Guys.
- 35:32Speaker 1: They even had the audacity to point to the handle
- 35:37Speaker 1: holes on the cardboard box, suggesting they were left open
- 35:42Speaker 1: so she could breathe, as if he was some kind
- 35:46Speaker 1: of considerate executioner. Guys, he also had tape over her mouth,
- 35:51Speaker 1: don't forget, and also as if a few centimeters of
- 35:55Speaker 1: cardboard could erase the three hundred thousand volts, the tape,
- 36:00Speaker 1: and the shallow grave, so.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Buffy says, guys, he was just kidding, lighten up. Yeah, no,
- 36:13Speaker 2: it's Buffy also says it's giving Sarah.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I mean when Mama earlier said yeah, what defense wants
- 36:19Speaker 1: to Yeah, this defense attorney was on board.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's wild. But Michelina didn't flinch. No, she told
- 36:28Speaker 2: the court quote, I can tell you now that they
- 36:32Speaker 2: were not left, especially or intentionally for me to live.
- 36:38Speaker 2: She described the prayer, the suffocating dark, and the image
- 36:42Speaker 2: of her son that acted as her only tether to
- 36:46Speaker 2: the world above.
- 36:49Speaker 1: And guess who eventually took the stand for his own
- 36:52Speaker 1: defense Marson.
- 36:56Speaker 2: But idyo, this guy just just dummer face right, And
- 37:01Speaker 2: he admitted he took her.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Yes, he admitted he put her in a box. But
- 37:08Speaker 1: then he looked the jury in the eyes and maintained
- 37:12Speaker 1: his story that it wasn't meant to end her life.
- 37:17Speaker 1: He tried to frame the most terrifying experience a human
- 37:20Speaker 1: can endure is something explainable, a mistake that could be
- 37:27Speaker 1: walked back with the right words.
- 37:31Speaker 2: How you were able to say that to Jerry those
- 37:35Speaker 2: coming out of your mouth? Wow, he thought people were
- 37:40Speaker 2: going to believe that.
- 37:41Speaker 1: He is delusional.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Now that he is that he is, Yes,
- 37:48Speaker 2: and Buffy. Oh he is Sarah Boone then yeah, yeah,
- 37:52Speaker 2: it turns out yes, pretty much. Wow. Now, Patrick, the seventh,
- 38:00Speaker 2: teen year old accomplice, chose a different path because he
- 38:03Speaker 2: has a little bit more sense than or he's got
- 38:06Speaker 2: some parents or some parents. He didn't testify at all. Instead,
- 38:13Speaker 2: he stayed silent, leaving his future in the hands of
- 38:17Speaker 2: the jury, hoping that his age and Marson's influence would
- 38:22Speaker 2: be enough to shield him from the heaviest consequences. And
- 38:25Speaker 2: I'll just say this, of the two of them, yes,
- 38:27Speaker 2: I do think Marson deserves more heavier consequences for sure. Great,
- 38:34Speaker 2: he planted it, he plotted it, he recruited this was
- 38:38Speaker 2: his he did child and he recruited a kid. I
- 38:43Speaker 2: know he's seventeen, but like what yeah, yeah, so we'll
- 38:50Speaker 2: see how it turns out. Let's se Yeah.
- 38:51Speaker 1: The trial moved forwardward with two very different versions of
- 38:55Speaker 1: that night. One version was a nightmare of survival. The
- 39:01Speaker 1: other was just a prank that went a little too far.
- 39:06Speaker 1: And now, Frank it was up to twelve strangers to
- 39:09Speaker 1: decide which one was the truth.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Now, on January thirteenth, twenty twelve, the way finally came
- 39:17Speaker 2: to an end after eight hours of deliberation, which is shocking,
- 39:23Speaker 2: eight hours of liberation.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Why did it take eight hours. I'm guessing they were
- 39:28Speaker 1: arguing over Patrick and they were talking about the seventeen
- 39:31Speaker 1: year old, because they could not have been discussing Marson's
- 39:35Speaker 1: I feel yeah, I'm going to just say that's my belief.
- 39:40Speaker 2: That makes sense. So after eight hours of deliberation, the
- 39:45Speaker 2: jury returned to the courtroom with a verdict that would
- 39:48Speaker 2: determine if the law saw the same monster Michelina did
- 39:52Speaker 2: and Marson has passed, has carser Zach? Anyway, that asshole.
- 40:00Speaker 2: He found guilty of attempted murder. Yay, right applies.
- 40:06Speaker 1: As for the teenager Patrick Bores, the jury found him
- 40:10Speaker 1: not guilty of attempted murder. As for the teenager Patrick Bores,
- 40:16Speaker 1: they found him not guilty of the attempt to kill,
- 40:19Speaker 1: though he is still he's still faced the consequences of
- 40:23Speaker 1: the kidnapping that he had already admitted to.
- 40:28Speaker 2: So, I mean, I don't know how they found not
- 40:31Speaker 2: guilty on the attemptive killed. Maybe it's probably his age.
- 40:35Speaker 1: You know why you helped putting put this woman in
- 40:38Speaker 1: a box.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know how You're seventeen and don't know
- 40:42Speaker 2: that if you put a person in a box underground,
- 40:45Speaker 2: chances are they're going to die because they are, like,
- 40:47Speaker 2: it's not it's not a question answer.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean unless we don't know if Marson told him, yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 1: let's go play some video games and then we'll go
- 40:56Speaker 1: back and get her out.
- 40:57Speaker 2: No, I don't know, all right, that's hey, you know
- 41:00Speaker 2: what those are fair points. Actually we don't know. We
- 41:04Speaker 2: don't know what story Marson told him, and so okay, anyways,
- 41:11Speaker 2: that's very interesting. Now, Judge Peter Collier did not mince
- 41:16Speaker 2: words when it came down to hand came time to
- 41:19Speaker 2: hand down the punishment. There we go.
- 41:22Speaker 1: There, I love that way.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Fancy his fancy judge clothes. Now, he dismantled the prank
- 41:30Speaker 2: defense once and for all, describing Marson's actions as a cold,
- 41:36Speaker 2: planned attempt to end a life. Quote, I must have
- 41:40Speaker 2: regard to the uniquely chilling nature of this case, as
- 41:45Speaker 2: I have already observed, being buried alive must be one
- 41:50Speaker 2: of the most dreadful ways to die that anyone can imagine.
- 41:58Speaker 1: It's my biggest fears, and I think it's a lot
- 42:00Speaker 1: of people's fears. Yeah, for the attempted murder, Marson was
- 42:05Speaker 1: sentenced to twenty years, but the clock didn't stop there.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Because of the explosives and the prohibited weapons found in
- 42:13Speaker 1: that house, another eight years were tacked on, giving him
- 42:17Speaker 1: a total of twenty eight years. But here's the reality
- 42:21Speaker 1: that is always hard to swallow in the UK system.
- 42:27Speaker 1: He could be eligible for parole after serving just half
- 42:31Speaker 1: of that time.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't know about you guys, but I
- 42:35Speaker 2: feel like people that get like attended murder charges, they
- 42:39Speaker 2: need to be at the same level, quite frankly as murder.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Like so what they're dumb and didn't complete it, like
- 42:46Speaker 2: it's still it still takes like it's.
- 42:49Speaker 1: They just got lucky that they weren't successful, So we're
- 42:51Speaker 1: rewarding them.
- 42:52Speaker 2: For failing, right, I mean with attempted murder Like, Okay,
- 42:57Speaker 2: So there's different kinds of murders. Not all of them
- 43:00Speaker 2: are intentional. Not everyone that commits murder is a murderer,
- 43:07Speaker 2: if that makes sense. I mean, technically they are, but
- 43:11Speaker 2: there's several scenarios where you could come up with hypotheticals
- 43:15Speaker 2: where something might just need self defense.
- 43:18Speaker 1: For one, right, they also tortured her, he shocked her,
- 43:22Speaker 1: with a stun gun and taped her up and left
- 43:26Speaker 1: her on the floor at the house for something and
- 43:28Speaker 1: then buried her alive, buried her alive.
- 43:31Speaker 2: So yeah, like, I don't know. I don't know why
- 43:35Speaker 2: they always get people with a tempted murder lesser sentences.
- 43:38Speaker 2: If somebody knows, I would love to know why. I
- 43:41Speaker 2: really would, because I feel like they serve less time.
- 43:46Speaker 2: But like what it's like, Oh, they'll encourage them to
- 43:50Speaker 2: finish the job. No, attempted murder is usually people that
- 43:53Speaker 2: are just real bad just by chance it wasn't murder,
- 43:57Speaker 2: is what no thinks in cases. Yeah, it is bs
- 44:01Speaker 2: total bitess And listen, that's not a UK thing. We
- 44:04Speaker 2: do it here in the States. Took it blows my
- 44:06Speaker 2: mind because the only way you mess you get attempted
- 44:12Speaker 2: murder is basically if you intended that person to die
- 44:15Speaker 2: and you just didn't do it. No thanks some cases,
- 44:18Speaker 2: here's a chance to try again someday because she lived
- 44:21Speaker 2: bonkers exactly, Like you're just like, oh, here, by the way,
- 44:26Speaker 2: you sat through this whole court case, here's what you
- 44:28Speaker 2: did wrong. So when you get out again, I just
- 44:33Speaker 2: I don't know. That's one thing that's always bucked to me.
- 44:35Speaker 1: So you also remember, I forget what case it was
- 44:39Speaker 1: that we covered that. There's no such thing as attempted Arson.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Yes, wasn't that, I get a pillow higher, I wrote.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Yes, I think that the DC one or was it?
- 44:55Speaker 1: I don't remember. There is no such thing as attempted Arson.
- 44:59Speaker 1: So if you set it all up and your thing
- 45:02Speaker 1: didn't ignite it, you can't be charged. Yeah, just because
- 45:07Speaker 1: you were bad at it. I mean, we literally are
- 45:11Speaker 1: rewarding them for being bad. I don't get it.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I don't get it either. I don't get it either. Okay,
- 45:21Speaker 2: so now he was sentenced to twenty eight years. Well,
- 45:24Speaker 2: Patrick was sentenced to four and a half years for
- 45:27Speaker 2: his role in the kidnapping, and based on that timeline,
- 45:31Speaker 2: he has almost certainly been walking free for years, though
- 45:36Speaker 2: his current whereabouts remain unconfirmed. And I don't know how
- 45:42Speaker 2: I feel about that, but I guess I kind of
- 45:46Speaker 2: understand it.
- 45:47Speaker 1: But also think of where he lives. They're known for
- 45:51Speaker 1: giving them new identities if they do stuff as a minor.
- 45:56Speaker 2: But if he was being tried with Marson, I would
- 45:58Speaker 2: think he'd be tried as an adult. I don't know.
- 46:00Speaker 2: I don't know how UK works. It's a very interesting point.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I wish I know, I didn't need to go down
- 46:06Speaker 2: more rabbit holes with this story.
- 46:09Speaker 1: So the fact that a blinding makes me wonder did
- 46:12Speaker 1: they allow a name change or something to not let
- 46:15Speaker 1: his past dictate his future?
- 46:19Speaker 2: And I hope it he did it. It didn't well,
- 46:21Speaker 2: I mean you're seventeen. Yeah, still he knows the great
- 46:25Speaker 2: eighteen right and wrong. Yeah, and that putting somebody in
- 46:28Speaker 2: the dirt's going to kill them? Yeah, no, fine, Yeah.
- 46:32Speaker 1: After the verdict was read, Michelina spoke to the press
- 46:37Speaker 1: for the first time. The terror in her voice was
- 46:41Speaker 1: replaced by something she had been waiting on for months, relief.
- 46:47Speaker 1: I am so happy by the verdict because for me
- 46:51Speaker 1: it means peace at last. I was waking up at
- 46:55Speaker 1: nights having nightmares where I saw Marson's face he was
- 47:00Speaker 1: hunting me.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think those words of hers, they are
- 47:07Speaker 2: really do remind us all that survival isn't just about
- 47:13Speaker 2: crawling out of a hole in the dirt. The fear
- 47:17Speaker 2: it follows you. It follows you into your sleep, into
- 47:22Speaker 2: your quiet moments, and into every shadow that looks a
- 47:28Speaker 2: little too much like a person You once left, like
- 47:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 47:33Speaker 1: She still has a son with him. He gets out,
- 47:37Speaker 1: he could try to contact your so I mean, yeah,
- 47:44Speaker 1: it never goes away. Well as for Morson, if he
- 47:48Speaker 1: serves his full term without early release, which we know
- 47:53Speaker 1: doesn't always happen, he won't see the outside of a
- 47:56Speaker 1: prison cell until twenty forty US the UK justice system
- 48:01Speaker 1: keeps a tighter little on inmate records than we do
- 48:04Speaker 1: in the States. We also don't know where he is.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I sadly suspect he's out.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Well. And Michelina, if you're wondering where she's been well,
- 48:17Speaker 2: she did what any mother would do after staring death
- 48:22Speaker 2: in the face. She chose to disappear, and this time
- 48:26Speaker 2: not because she was forced into a box, but because
- 48:30Speaker 2: she chose protection.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Yes, she and her son were relocated to a secret location,
- 48:39Speaker 1: far away from the woods of Huddersfield and the man
- 48:43Speaker 1: who tried to erase her. There were no more interviews
- 48:46Speaker 1: from her or public updates, just quiet, safe and peaceful
- 48:53Speaker 1: life that guys they rightfully deserve. And I hope she
- 48:58Speaker 1: has found happiness some peace.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Same now if you're if you are experiencing course of control,
- 49:10Speaker 2: isolation or domestic abuse help is available at the National
- 49:16Speaker 2: Domestic Violence Hotline by calling one eight hundred seventy nine
- 49:21Speaker 2: to nine safe just seven two three three, or texting
- 49:26Speaker 2: start start to eight eight seven eighty eight. Now on
- 49:33Speaker 2: our next episode of True Crime and Wine Time, to
- 49:37Speaker 2: the outside world, Doctor Christopher Dolson was living the ultimate
- 49:43Speaker 2: American dream, a brilliant Texas surgeon, a beautiful family, and
- 49:49Speaker 2: a suburban home decorated with twinkling Christmas lights. But behind
- 49:54Speaker 2: the closed front door of that quiet house, a countdown
- 49:58Speaker 2: was already ticking.
- 50:01Speaker 1: On December ninth, twenty seventeen, the unimaginable happened. A family
- 50:07Speaker 1: was shattered, a community was left an absolute disbelief, and
- 50:13Speaker 1: the immediate headlines painted the picture of a monster. But
- 50:17Speaker 1: here at True Crime and Wine Time, we don't stop
- 50:20Speaker 1: at the criten scene tapes. We look for the why.
- 50:23Speaker 1: We look to understand.
- 50:27Speaker 2: In this special two part episode event, we will be
- 50:31Speaker 2: pulling back the corporate curtain on a silent public health
- 50:35Speaker 2: crisis hiding in clean sights. You want to talk about
- 50:38Speaker 2: rabbit holes, We've been down.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm still going down rabbit holes.
- 50:44Speaker 2: We're going to unravel how a system built to heal,
- 50:47Speaker 2: instead creates masters of disguise, forcing our most brilliant medical
- 50:53Speaker 2: minds to suffer in absolute silence and too terrified to
- 50:58Speaker 2: ask for help because the stigma will destroy their careers.
- 51:03Speaker 1: But guys, the story doesn't end in Texas. We follow
- 51:07Speaker 1: the dominoes all the way to the Pacific Northwest, where
- 51:11Speaker 1: a historic bombshell class action lawsuit is blowing the whistle
- 51:16Speaker 1: on physician health programs.
- 51:20Speaker 2: And we'll expose a corporate monopoly that targets doctors in crisis.
- 51:25Speaker 2: You will hear the infuriating stories of real world survivors,
- 51:31Speaker 2: like the resident whose career was held hostage over an
- 51:35Speaker 2: erroneous administrative billing mistake, and the surgeon slacked with a
- 51:40Speaker 2: catastrophic false diagnosis belonging to a completely different patient. Now,
- 51:48Speaker 2: this isn't just a story about crime. It is an
- 51:53Speaker 2: expose on a profit driven trap that leaves a trail
- 51:58Speaker 2: of devastation.
- 52:01Speaker 1: And through the ash of unspeakable tragedy, we witness the
- 52:05Speaker 1: radical grace of a mother's survival, Rachel Dawson's courageous fight
- 52:12Speaker 1: to fight to light to life her one life as three. Yeah,
- 52:19Speaker 1: one life as three, I've now had two glasses a
- 52:23Speaker 1: wife that's fine turning an unfathomable loss into a fierce
- 52:27Speaker 1: mission for domestic abuse awareness and Gunsen's laws.
- 52:34Speaker 2: It's time to dismantle the mask. So pour your glass,
- 52:38Speaker 2: take your seat on our lovely True Crime and Wine
- 52:41Speaker 2: time couch, and prepare for a journey into the heart
- 52:44Speaker 2: of the medical system's darkest secret, The Tragedy of Doctor
- 52:49Speaker 2: Chris Dawson. Parts one and two. You can find us
- 52:53Speaker 2: wherever you get your podcast. Then you can listen to
- 52:56Speaker 2: the live recording of this episode and many more on
- 53:00Speaker 2: our YouTube channel True Crime and One Time.
- 53:05Speaker 1: I have to say, we got some heavy stuff. That's
- 53:10Speaker 1: this case was heavy, but she came out a survivor. Yes,
- 53:16Speaker 1: Snoop is working for Shizzle. Absolutely Snoop is working. The
- 53:22Speaker 1: Dawson stuff is gut wrenching, not just because of the crime,
- 53:30Speaker 1: but because of the other stuff.
- 53:36Speaker 2: It's my fault. You all can be mad at me
- 53:38Speaker 2: two episodes from now and be like, Lama, why you
- 53:41Speaker 2: keep doing this to us?
- 53:44Speaker 1: It's all la that I mean, to the point I'm
- 53:46Speaker 1: asking Double H to reach out to his best friend
- 53:49Speaker 1: who's a surgeon. I even sent my ex husband a
- 53:54Speaker 1: text message today to ask questions about it. Wow, because
- 53:58Speaker 1: I got quite because I'm worried there's going to be
- 54:02Speaker 1: more crimes and tragedies like what happened. And yes it's
- 54:05Speaker 1: a crime, but it's a tragedy guys, what happened to
- 54:09Speaker 1: doctor Chris Sawson.
- 54:10Speaker 2: So it's a different kind of story, not one that
- 54:13Speaker 2: we particularly have told in this way, but it's very important,
- 54:18Speaker 2: so I look forward to that. As for Michelina Broh,
- 54:23Speaker 2: she to her, I mean, I hope she is just
- 54:27Speaker 2: out there living her best life. Yep. And I'm glad
- 54:32Speaker 2: that like she just disappeared because I would too ohm
- 54:39Speaker 2: possibly being out again.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean just knowing they could no. No. Now, guys,

- 55:58Speaker 1: I I wish I could meet Michelina in person, not
- 56:04Speaker 1: to ask her questions, but just to hug her and
- 56:07Speaker 1: see if I could get some of her strength, just
- 56:10Speaker 1: to bleed into me.
- 56:12Speaker 2: I wish that the UK was more open with their
- 56:18Speaker 2: cases like we are in the States, where you can
- 56:20Speaker 2: like foy your stuff, because I do have a lot
- 56:22Speaker 2: of questions about Marsin and the explosive, like what is
- 56:27Speaker 2: happening in Yeah, there's so much information that's not available
- 56:32Speaker 2: to the public, and I understand that doing that has
- 56:36Speaker 2: its pros and cons, But I'm a big believer in
- 56:39Speaker 2: transparency and judicial systems for a good reason. Y and
- 56:45Speaker 2: I do wish we could know more overall about all
- 56:49Speaker 2: of that, but I hope her and her little boy
- 56:53Speaker 2: are just having a wonderful life together, so agreed.
- 56:57Speaker 1: And guys, please be safe, stay away, if you see something,
