Transcript
- Welcome back, My Learning Source customers. Hey, this is Zach Edwards with another episode of My Learning Source. This is everything that you need to know about, well, I was going to say homeschooling. You know more about homeschooling than we do. We're the vendors. And even though some of us are homeschooling families, homeschool, yeah, homeschool educators and families, we don't know everything about this. We don't know everything that you need. So we're actually reaching out in this podcast to find out what you want in a site, a site that you can come to where every homeschooler wants to be a part of. So we have things like workshops. We have written ones and we have live ones. You can attend them. You can just read them. I mean, one thing that we're thinking about doing is doing videos as well, whereas people can post their workshops live or not live through links to their videos, or even just having the videos on our site. We want to know what you want in order to come to a site where you could be fulfilled as a homeschooler. Now, again, fulfilled as a homeschooler, we're not trying to fulfill you, but find ways of getting the information that you need to be the most effective and efficient homeschooling family possible. Not based on others, but based on yourself. Where do you want to be? Who do you want to be? What do you want your kids to learn? What vendors should I look at if I'm a homeschooling family? Which ones are reliable? Are there any reviews on it? Who can I trust? This is why we actually created MyLearningSource. We created MyLearningSource for two reasons. One was to help vendors get out and be able to be seen during COVID, funny enough. Then we scrapped it because conventions opened up and we started going back to conventions. We started doing the exact same thing we were doing before. Now, as things started to not get better in the way of the conventions, some conventions are losing attendance. Some are getting more expensive, especially for the vendors. I mean, they're getting the thousands of dollars just for us to attend. We don't know if they will actually make money or even break even, maybe even lose money. How much are we going to lose? So this is one of the reasons why we created this. We are in partnership with all the conventions. We are in partnership with all the vendors. We are in partnership with all of you. We're trying to create this one source that really gives you value as homeschoolers. We love you. You've basically been there for us as the vendors and we want to be there for you with what you need. So let's go through a few things. And if you would, please put your comments in the bottom, help us understand what you're looking for. Now let's go over some of the things that we provide. So in here, as a parent, as a homeschooler, you can go to the Parenting Hub. Now the Parenting Hub basically gives you different things about, now this is what we provide. So there's not much in here. It's not huge, but it explains what we do. Go down lower. What if you needed a homeschool and co-op? Did you know we have a lot of homeschool and co-ops in here? We're adding more as we go. We want to know which co-op you belong to if they're open to the public. If they're private, I mean, it'd be nice to be able to have it because then people can apply for it. But if it's public, I know you probably want to have more people to help. So join our co-op page, have your co-op contact us. We'll pop them up on here. If they're a micro school or some other small alternative school, we want them in here as well. We have co-ops, we have support groups, we have Facebook communities, micro schools, and also statewide organizations. Now like FPEA, it's a statewide organization. Now these are all based on your state. So if you're not Florida, go to the one in California, go to the one in Texas, go to Utah or West Virginia. Go to your state and find which of these are there. And if it's not there, please let us know. We want to add them to it. What other things do we have for just the parenting tab? We also have the event calendar. So the event calendar tells you all the different parts, all the different things are happening in the next few years or the next school year, in this school year, that'll help you understand what you can do and what you can get out of your homeschooling experience. Going a little bit further, you can earn coins just by doing some of these things each day. You're going to actually earn coins and you can spend those coins on different products provided by the vendors. Now not everything, but some things. Other things that you have, you have discounts and you don't have any coins. They're just discounts in here. Vendors are joining them all the time. This is just Florida. So in other states there'll be more, some other states there'll be less. So go in there. Now that's all for the parenting tab. Community. Do you like Facebook? Probably do. You probably like scrolling through Facebook. Do you like how much time you spend on Facebook? Do you like the algorithms forcing you to see certain things and not see other things? Like if you like a business or like a co-op, don't you want to see what they actually are providing you on Facebook, their posts? Yeah, you do. We have no algorithms here. If Totally Medieval, which is this company that's on the page right now, if they post something and you like them, you're going to see what they produced, what they posted. If you like a co-op that you're attached to and they put an event on there, you're going to see that person, or sorry, see that event. If a friend posts something about homeschooling or such, you're going to see that. And if they don't want anyone else to see it, they don't have to see anyone else will see it. Just the people that they agree can see their stuff. So this is a great way of having a great social media where you can feel safe, your information feels safe, and you're not being dragged down by advertisements and also algorithms. What else do we have? Okay, going back. We have workshops. We have written workshops. So if you click on here, you can see all these different workshops put on by different vendors. These are like workshops that you get at a convention, but you're only going to be seeing them. So you can see them when you want to see them. At the same time, if you want to see a product or see something, a workshop that's live, click on live workshops. You can actually see, you can click on here and you can actually see that workshop or click on here. You're going to see the list of workshops in that date. This is actually new. So let's go to the next one. Products. If you want to find products, these are all different products provided by different vendors in Florida. And you can sort by the products and you can see if they're part of ESA or non-ESA. All those different things. Sorry, I just got over a cold. So my voice is getting raspy. I might have to end this soon. Vendors. If you're a vendor, come here. See all the things we have for you. But we're talking about the, sorry, we're talking to the customers right now. If you want a guide to the scholarships, whether ESAs or even non-ESAs, there's a complete guide to your ESAs, like step up for students if you're in Florida or your other ones. And if you want scholarship programs, you have state scholarships, you have federal scholarships, and you have like higher ed scholarships. Right now there's innovate the future. It's the only one on here, but in the future, there'll be more. So homeschooling families, please let us know what you want to see. What you want in your community, in a product, a website. You don't have to pay for it. It's totally for free. That way is we can help you become more effective and more efficient and not spend so much time on the homeschooling as much as the time spending time with your kids. And also you have to work more time that you spend working and have your life balance while not trying to be bogged down by all this homeschooling stuff that you're trying to figure out. We want to be there for you. So please let us know what you need. Until next time, this is Zach Edwards with My Learning Source. My company is Historical Conquest. See, I'm not even My Learning Source. I'm Historical Conquest or part of Historical Conquest. I'm the CEO and creator of that. So if you need any history products, please come to me. Otherwise, if you want anything homeschooling, come check this out. Let me know if you need anything. Put in the comments below what you want to see on here. We'd love to help out. Thanks so much. We'll talk to you soon. Take care. Bye.
