  Speaker 1: now without a win in conference and a very unusual

  Speaker 1: year right now for the Golden Eagles. I mean, the

  Speaker 1: last three years, Shaka Smart won seventy nine games there.

  Speaker 1: That's more than anybody's ever won in three years at Marquettes.

  Speaker 1: So what's your thought on facing a team that's struggling

  Speaker 1: coming into your place.

  Speaker 2: I mean, I got obviously tremendous respect for Shaka is
• 0:30
  Speaker 2: one of the best coaches in our sport. And you know,

  Speaker 2: just the you know, the Marquette program, the tradition, the
• 0:39
  Speaker 2: you know, the tradition, the recent success of the history there.

  Speaker 2: You know, couldn't have more respect for what they do there.

  Speaker 2: It's you know, college basketball, in college athletics. This is
• 0:50
  Speaker 2: a very violatile time in this era of college basketball,
• 0:55
  Speaker 2: in particular college football. You know that there's the the
• 1:00
  Speaker 2: with volatile things are relative to year to year. I

  Speaker 2: think you're, you know, gonna see a lot of this
• 1:08
  Speaker 2: with a lot of programs where there's just so much
• 1:11
  Speaker 2: going on relative to how how your team gets put together.

  Speaker 2: I have a lot of respect for how they do it.

  Speaker 2: They are they they you put on the film and

  Speaker 2: you watch them. You know, they they play hard, they defend,

  Speaker 2: they do all the things that that shotas teams have
• 1:27
  Speaker 2: always done. They just uh, you know, haven't made as
• 1:30
  Speaker 2: much shots. Uh, you know, just haven't been quite as good,
• 1:34
  Speaker 2: you know, offensively, but they're still hard to play against.

  Speaker 2: Their physical they pressure you. You know, they're incredibly well prepared,
• 1:42
  Speaker 2: and uh, they're just going through, uh, you know, a
• 1:45
  Speaker 2: tough stretch that you know, we we obviously don't want
• 1:49
  Speaker 2: to see that stretch end until they leave town.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, that's for sure. Uh, there's gonna be some familiar

  Speaker 1: faces on that market team. The four guys from last year.

  Speaker 1: They did lose three starters. Chase raw Back senior guard,

  Speaker 1: really solid player. But they did lose z Aid Lowry.

  Speaker 1: He left the team last week. He won't be with
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: them for the rest of the season. The one guy
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: I want to ask about though, Nigel James. He's a
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: freshman Long Island Lutheran Huntington, New York. He's playing twenty
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: six minutes a game for Shatka, not a big guy,
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: but he seems to be an impactful backcourt man.

  Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean with him and Sean Jones, they got two,
• 2:23
  Speaker 2: you know, dynamic guards off the dribble Chase Ross, who's
• 2:27
  Speaker 2: you know, one of the top scorers in the league.
• 2:29
  Speaker 2: And you know, they played a really brutal schedule. I mean,
• 2:32
  Speaker 2: you go and play at Wisconsin and then that Purdue
• 2:36
  Speaker 2: and now you find yourself in league play and you
• 2:38
  Speaker 2: you know, you lose those two, you know, I mean,
• 2:41
  Speaker 2: their scheduling was really really tough. But again, they've got guys,
• 2:46
  Speaker 2: you know, like Chase Ross and and Sean Jones and
• 2:50
  Speaker 2: Ben Gold and guys that have won a lot of
• 2:52
  Speaker 2: games there with a lot of pride and uh, you know,
• 2:55
  Speaker 2: so we'll be prepared for their best.
