Without further ado, let's go into today's episode. I could talk about this topic till I'm blue in the face because I'm just like, come on, come on. Okay, so ovulation tests and period apps are hurting your dream of getting pregnant. I know that sounds a little dramatic, but seriously, if you are relying on these things to know how your hormones are doing. or how your ovulation is, it's not helping you. Okay. So I have even had students inside of my fertility framework course who you know, we we've met together and they tell me like I use the INETO and it told me this. I'm like, girl, you've gotten the fertility we're in is education. Like we're not relying on these apps anymore. And I have to I have to still even remind my girls who have gone through this education that, hey, remember, we do not rely on these apps. We do not take their prediction, take their assessment of where we're at in our cycle. We we do not take that as truth. We are going to use the information that we learn inside of the fertility awareness method and that we learn from our biomarkers and what's normal and what's not normal to assess, like us assess. where we're at in our cycle. Very important. Okay. So let's go through one of the major problems that comes up when we are using it's called OPEG OPK. I think I read it OP or something. So it's OPK, ovulation predictor kit. and these kits typically what they are, they're just LH strips. LH is the lutinizing hormone. That's the hormone that comes and fires right before you ovulate. So your app doesn't, it's not going to ever know if you ovulated or when you ovulated. So if you have some kind of period tracker or opa OPK kit. We're just gonna say LH tests. Okay. if you have LH tests or some kind of app for that or hormone tests. or the cycle the the period tracker or the cycle tracker and it's telling you like hey you ovulated you look at that with like a cynical view and you throw it out and you say you don't know if I actually ovulated. Okay. That's what I want all of you to do. So a lot of period apps are the period apps in particular, they're predicting your ovulation based off of previous cycles. But just because you ovulated on cycle day thirteen or cycle day sixteen last month or you're in your last cycle does not mean that's when you're going to ovulate in this next cycle. And so they're just based off of a predictor of like, okay, this is typically when she ovulates, or this is typically when we see a change in her follicular diluteal phase. And so we're going to predict from previous cycles for this cycle and when it's at. Another major problem with a lot of period apps is it bases the ovulation prediction just off of a of of a 14 day ovulation day. So and that's like super old science, which is annoying if your app is still even doing that these days. So I think like the I think it's the flow app does this. they just basically predict when you're gonna ovulate based off of like 14 days after your period because that's when they say the standard woman ovulates is 14 days after a period. And sure, a lot of women can ovulate on cycle day 14, but that doesn't mean every woman, every cycle is going to ovulate on cycle day 14. Your follicular phase, that first part of your cycle, it's variable. So one month you might ovulate cycle day eleven and one month you might ovulate cycle day 18, just depending on the circumstances of your month and what's going on with your body, emotionally, physically, spiritually. And it it it can just change from cycle to cycle. So these things that are predicting ovulation, I mean, just take it with a grain of salt. Throw it out, throw it out. Like it doesn't, it does it's not an indicator. Okay. Now let's talk about the thing that I'm having a hard time saying today. OPKs, ovulation predictor kits. They also are not perfect. They like I said, they measure that LH surge, but the LH surge comes before ovulation. You will usually have an LH surge 24 to 36 hours before your body ovulates or attempts to ovulate. And just because you have an LH surge does not mean that. You were going to ovulate. So it's a good indicator, but we have to bring in other biomarkers to really assess like did ovulation occur? And what was the health of ovulation? Very important. Okay. some other OBKs like the Anito monitor, which I love. I love Anito. I-N-I-T-O. You can use code SETFREE15 with the number 15. for a coupon for it. I love it. I recommend it as an additional tool to to learning and imp implementing a fertility awareness method. So I love it when my clients they learn the FEM method. So they're tracking their cervical mucus, they're tracking their different cycle phase lengths, they're tracking the symptoms of what's going on throughout their cycle, they're tracking the LH surge And maybe they're going a little bit farther and using a NITO, which tracks your LH surge and it tracks all your other hormones. And so it gives us even more information to put up against your cervical mucus and and really assess and evaluate what's going on with your body. So it's great, but we just can't use it by itself. And we also cannot rely on the predictions or the assessments that are given in the app based off of the tests that we take. I have had multiple experiences personally and professionally where women have been told that you ovulated or you haven't ovulated yet or I don't know, all these things where it's just not accurate. It's not accurate. And we have to remember you guys, these are just based off of algorithms, but we want to really take this knowledge and apply it to our own body, to our own self. So that is very important. So secondly, this is this is just important because if if we're timing intercourse based off of our app's prediction, we might actually be missing our entire fertile window and not having intercourse in the right window if we're trying to conceive. If we're just going off of an app and we're not going off of what our body is actually doing and where our body is at and what those biomarkers are telling us. We're just missing a lot of valuable information about what our hormones are doing. if we're just relying on these predictions or assessments from these apps and devices. So instead of allowing these algorithms, which I feel like all of us in this day and age, I know me especially, I mean, we're all getting kind of annoyed at AI. We're getting annoyed at computer generated responses. we're getting annoyed at technology kind of feeling like it's running the world and we're not even sure if like Am I even talking to a real person right now? Am I watching a video of something that actually happened? Or is this an AI computer generated video? Like, am I listening to a real person or am I not? Hey, I'm real. I'm like super real. Okay. So I'm not super real. That was so goofy. Okay. so in this day and age, like I feel like all of us should be holding a very large, healthy skepticism of like, what is is what I'm doing, watching, seeing, hearing, is it real? And we need to apply this to our own fertility. Like, is what this algorithmic computer generated response telling me real? And and I'm like, man, I'm so I am so done with all this fake stuff, like this, this not real stuff. I'm so done with it. And so I'm I'm encouraging you to be done with it with your fertility. Don't rely on computer generated stuff. To inform you about what's going on with your body. It's, I mean, because these computer generated things, you guys, they don't have a soul. They are not made by God. They are not seeking to honor God. They are not, there is nothing godly about them. And God is not in it. So if God is not in it, the absence of God is what else? The In the absence of God, there is no God there. So if God is not there, I mean, we shouldn't want to partake in any part of that. And so, I know I'm speaking a little bit off the cuff here, but like I just feel very convicted. Like, I'm not gonna run my life and believe something about my body that a computer told me. I I wanna make sure that myself, the soul that God has given me, the body and the mind that God has given me. Is prayerfully making decisions and assessments, body, mind, and spirit. I don't want to rely and and if I if I want help and support, I am going to go to a person who also loves God and honors the spiritual aspect of everything. Right. I like we're missing that. I don't think we should be partaking in it. That's just my two cents. okay, so I'm gonna go more into this in our boot camp. Monday and Tuesday. So if you listen to this podcast and you listen to this episode, come to the boot camp. Okay. We're gonna talk about your cervical mucus. We're gonna talk about how to confirm if ovulation actually happened and how you can know that. You can be the body-mind spirit behind what's going on in your body prayerfully and not just relying on these scary, godless computers and devices and their assessments. Kind of, I don't know. There's something icky about that. so come and join us at Beccayon.com. Slash boot camp, sign up. And I'm gonna see you on Monday and Tuesday next week. And we are gonna learn so much about the beauty of how God designed you, body, mind, spirit, and what's going on with your fertility, what's going on with your hormones, what's going on with your cycle. And and we're we're like standing up in this spiritual warfare of wanting to grow your family in a God honoring and a God-fearing way. So come join us there. I think that's it. Yeah, leave a review. Go to Beckyon.com slash bootcamp, sign up for it, and let me pray over you. Lord Jesus, we come before you. And I thank you so much for just this message that you have for my sister in Christ to remind her to seek you first in all things and to make sure that in everything that we do, Lord, that you are included and you are you're not just included, but you are prioritized. with any doctor that we see, with any coach that we hire, with any with any course that we take, with any book that we read that we're relying on to help give us guidance and discernment for what we should do with our body, which has a mind and has a spirit, has a soul, you need to be first in it, Lord. You need to be there and not excluded. God, you are all things. And so would would you show my sister how to not just include you, pr but prioritize you in every aspect of her life, including this fertility journey, this cycle charting, this making changes or whatever, or discernment or steps like that, you would be at the forefront of all of it, Lord. Would you give her wisdom in this? Would you give her discernment and her husband as well? Would you let them be of one mind? I pray all these things in your holy name. Amen.
