- 0:002016 when I got involved in politics for most people getting involved in like a local election for me
- 0:05It was the craziest presidential campaign in American history, but it was a presidential campaign
- 0:09I think once you get into politics at least as deep as I did your life is kind of never normal
- 0:13She broke into the world as a high-fashion model
- 0:16But behind the photo shoots and runways was a voice too powerful to be quieted
- 0:20Elizabeth Pipco is a modern-day icon for conviction balancing her life in the spotlight with a deep commitment to faith, freedom, and unapologetic truth
- 0:28People now only care about being relevant, that's why I hate social media
- 0:31They know they can't be embarrassed anymore because the news cycle changes every two seconds
- 0:34Whatever you say that will get attention even negative people will forget in an hour
- 0:38But you've gained 10,000 followers
- 0:39Social media has allowed our enemies to infiltrate this country
- 0:42In the easiest way possible by hitting the next generation
- 0:45No one knows what 14-year-olds are doing on their phones
- 0:47No one can stop them from being on their phones or being on these apps
- 0:50Anyone in the world can feed them whatever material that they want
- 0:52That's when you have a real problem
- 0:53As a writer, political commentator, and founder of the less people forget movement
- 0:57She's dedicated to preserving history, elevating dialogue, and protecting the values that matter
- 1:03She's proof that you can embrace elegance and stand for something that lasts
- 1:06If I was not as close as I was, maybe I would hate Donald Trump
- 1:09I don't blame anyone who are feeling the way that they feel because they only get to read the headline
- 1:13No one is going to believe in you if you don't believe in yourself
- 1:15If you don't like who you are, it doesn't matter if anyone likes you ever
- 1:18That's why I supported Donald Trump for so long
- 1:20Because he taught me what it means and how powerful it is to believe in yourself
- 1:27What is something that you haven't spoken about?
- 1:36About your story that people would be interested to know?
- 1:40It's weird because I'm very open, like too open
- 1:43Like everyone thinks that they're open and then everyone I meet is like, no, it's actually that's not the real me
- 1:47I'm actually the real me, I think everyone knows everything
- 1:51I don't think people realize how like goofy and nerdy and awkward I am
- 1:54But otherwise everyone kind of knows everything
- 1:57You do have an interesting story
- 2:00So you went from modeling for top fashion magazines
- 2:03You became the national spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee
- 2:09What was the moment because you've been sort of involved and adjacent to politics for a while
- 2:15Now what was the moment when you actually decided that you were sort of shelving modeling to a degree
- 2:21shelving figure skating to a degree I know you had an injury at one point which is probably what started that
- 2:26But what was the moment when you're like, I am putting regular life aside
- 2:30I really want to focus on politics
- 2:32Yeah, I mean that moment never existed
- 2:35It was 2016 when I got involved in politics
- 2:38And for most people getting involved is like volunteering in like a local election
- 2:43For me it was the craziest presidential campaign in American history
- 2:47But it was a presidential campaign so I was 21
- 2:50No college degree not a lot of work experience and I ended up on Donald Trump's 2016
- 2:55presidential campaign of one of maybe a hundred or so staffers in Trump tower in New York City
- 3:00So I kind of accidentally ended up
- 3:03There and I thought what do you mean accidentally ended up?
- 3:07I mean the reason I asked is because I always wonder
- 3:10Even with Trump I'm always like why go into politics right like life is so good
- 3:15Not for him he really life was good. He had no reason. I my life wasn't as good
- 3:20But no I was 21 years old
- 3:24I really had nothing going on like I tell the story all the time
- 3:26I say Donald Trump saved my life people don't you know like it if they don't like him
- 3:30But genuinely apart from politics
- 3:33I was in a really bad place and I didn't really have much of a future
- 3:36I was failing out of a few college classes. I had no friends to not know what I wanted to do
- 3:40I was genuinely very depressed and then my little brother
- 3:44Told me to start watching Donald Trump
- 3:46While he was campaigning and I said why because I had never been very political
- 3:49And he said it's not about political. It's about the fact that the guy is pulling it 2%
- 3:53And he's showing up every single day saying I'm going to be the next president
- 3:56Like that's the inspiration that you need
- 3:58So I started watching him
- 4:00fell in love with that spirit again less politics more personal just watching this guy show up every day
- 4:05Super confident. He was going to be the next president despite the entire planet laughing at him
- 4:10Um, I knew I needed more of that in my life to get my act together
- 4:13And then my brother
- 4:14Asked me to go volunteer for the campaign which really for most campaigns is either knocking on doors or phone banking
- 4:20We were in New York City so you're not knocking on apartment doors of only Democrats
- 4:25So it was just phone banking
- 4:26So we went there. We made a few phone calls
- 4:29For the campaign I decided I was kind of interested in doing more
- 4:32Just because I used to be a professional athlete and that part of me
- 4:36I guess came back to life when I was inspired to be in this building and be around all these people
- 4:40Working out a presidential campaign
- 4:42I wrote a letter to the data director of the campaign telling him
- 4:46That the volunteer operation was garbage and I could fix it
- 4:49I asked an intern who was like 14 at the time to bring my letter up and leave it on this guy's desk
- 4:54And he hired me the next day
- 4:56I love that and he and Trump is like an absolute workhorse
- 4:59Like I hear the story forget
- 5:02How he like even when he campaigns he's non-stop
- 5:05Like he literally never stops
- 5:07Even when you hear stories about him on Joe Rogan
- 5:10Like going for three hours without taking a sip of water
- 5:13Like the guy has unlimited stamina for his age
- 5:17While it's it's I can't keep up like everyone that's with him
- 5:21That's like what we joke around about is trying to not look tired in front of him
- 5:26Because we can't keep up with him like that's just what it is
- 5:29I was with him
- 5:31It was right before election day so the day before election day I was in Pennsylvania
- 5:35It was his third rally of the day already he already done one in a different state
- 5:40This was the second one in Pennsylvania
- 5:42I spoke at that rally it was the first time I'd ever actually gone to a rally in 10 years of being in Trump
- 5:47We're only got to speak so you know 30,000 people at this rally
- 5:50It's paying out backstage with the president
- 5:52He gave a speech there that's his third speech of the day
- 5:55So I'm exhausted from my 15 minutes
- 5:57That's his third speech of the day on the campaign
- 5:59She really goes much much longer than I did of course
- 6:01Third speech of the day in second state of the day
- 6:04Then he was heading to Michigan for the fourth speech that day
- 6:08Which he gave around one in the morning
- 6:10Returned back around 5 a.m. to Florida
- 6:13Maybe 6 a.m. and then had to live through election day
- 6:15And I think at that point hadn't slept in 72 hours
- 6:17And you can't use can't tell
- 6:19He is an absolute machine
- 6:21Now I think that it's pretty safe to say that your identity is more wrapped up in politics than anything else
- 6:28Forget the fact that Trump was an inspiration
- 6:31And obviously you're highly loyal to him
- 6:33And the fact that he won that's all great
- 6:35But outside of that are you ever upset that you
- 6:39Tied your identity to politics and not
- 6:42I know like life wasn't perfect
- 6:44There's a lot of other paths that you've gone on
- 6:47And we've spoken about this
- 6:49All the different things that you've tried to figure out
- 6:51I mean A there's other things in life that I do
- 6:54That I think are very cool and very special
- 6:56And a part of me that people don't think about
- 6:58Because all they want to talk about is Donald Trump
- 7:00Nowadays whether you like him or don't like him
- 7:01Or close to him or not
- 7:02That's all people care about
- 7:04But B there's just being normal
- 7:05And I have never gotten
- 7:06At least in the last 10 years of my life or as an adult
- 7:09I have never gotten to being normal
- 7:11My life for better or worse
- 7:12For the last 10 years has been about fighting for this
- 7:14Stranger
- 7:15Who now I know obviously pretty well
- 7:17But a random politician
- 7:20And I think once you get into politics
- 7:21At least as deep as I did
- 7:23Your life is kind of never normal again
- 7:25So it's a lot
- 7:26So you face a lot of attacks
- 7:28And I think that everybody
- 7:29In politics in general
- 7:30But also in Trump's can't face a ton of attacks
- 7:35You have been called a Nazi
- 7:37Which is interesting
- 7:38Yeah
- 7:39Considering your Jewish
- 7:41Or the Nazi
- 7:42Where you come from
- 7:43What do you think about
- 7:49What do you think about the modern interpretation of Nazism
- 7:52And just talk about
- 7:53Because your grandparents warned you about
- 7:55The fact that the Holocaust wasn't ever over
- 7:58How October 7th obviously changed all of our perspectives
- 8:01On what it means to be Jewish in this world
- 8:04But what's your reaction when somebody calls you
- 8:08A modern orthodox Jew and Nazi
- 8:11I mean at first it's horrible
- 8:14Like any attacks are horrible
- 8:16And I had a really difficult time in the very beginning
- 8:20Just because I'd never been attacked
- 8:21Like that
- 8:22You go overnight
- 8:23Really from no one knowing your name
- 8:25To it's still being pretty irrelevant
- 8:26But enough people wanting you to be
- 8:28In some kind of pain or to hurt you
- 8:30Or
- 8:31Threatening you in some way
- 8:32Which is horrible and scary
- 8:33And so the word
- 8:34You know like hearing the word Nazi
- 8:36As a 23 year old girl
- 8:37Who had no idea why she had deserved
- 8:40That message to begin with like that scary
- 8:42Now it's more sad because the term has lost all meaning
- 8:45And because we're throwing it around
- 8:46And insulting people the way that we are
- 8:48And I'm personally not impacted
- 8:50But I know a lot of people who would be
- 8:51Who maybe didn't spend the last 10 years in politics
- 8:53Like I did and didn't develop that thick skin
- 8:56Knowing that they're receiving those insults
- 8:58worries me a lot
- 8:58Makes me sad and
- 9:00Be it's just worrisome as an educated adult
- 9:02To know that history means nothing clearly
- 9:04Because we're throwing around that term
- 9:06To people we don't like in America
- 9:07Because they voted a different way from us
- 9:09But that's wild to me
- 9:10Like there's always animosity in politics
- 9:12But how do we get to the point
- 9:14Where we've basically like to your point
- 9:16We've removed the meaning of the term Nazi
- 9:19It's so much so that it's like a casual
- 9:22Like they're throwing it around casually
- 9:24Like if
- 9:25World War II is not that long ago
- 9:28But people forget very quickly
- 9:29How do you think we got to this point
- 9:32Here's what I'll say
- 9:33I don't think it's as newest people realize
- 9:35I just think because of social media
- 9:37It's taken over
- 9:38I remember someone called
- 9:41Donald Trump a fascist
- 9:42A few years ago
- 9:43Right before I had done a TV interview
- 9:44So they were talking about
- 9:45And then I was coming on to then discuss it
- 9:47And I remember thinking to myself
- 9:49The fact that we're using the phrase fascist
- 9:50Is embarrassing
- 9:51My parents actually fled fascism
- 9:54You might not like Donald Trump
- 9:55You might not like any Republican
- 9:56Or Democrat
- 9:57But we should not throw the term around here
- 9:58For either side
- 9:59And I remember calling my dad after
- 10:03I did the interview
- 10:04And he said
- 10:04Let me tell you a story
- 10:06When I first came to America
- 10:09I think he was in law school
- 10:10Not even sure
- 10:11But he went to Yale law school
- 10:12So one of the best in Columbia
- 10:13University
- 10:14So wherever it was it was great
- 10:15And he said that when he came to class
- 10:17I think it was his first day in class
- 10:18They made a big deal about it
- 10:19And said
- 10:19Look we have this immigrant
- 10:20From the Soviet Union
- 10:21Who's in the class
- 10:23I think Reagan was president at the time
- 10:25And the professor
- 10:27In my dad's class
- 10:28Said you're going to feel right at home here
- 10:30Because we have our own fascists in the White House
- 10:32And so my dad said that at that moment
- 10:34He just sat there and wondered
- 10:35Is this the best school in the world
- 10:36This is what people told me
- 10:37I should fight to get into
- 10:38And they don't know what fascism is
- 10:40So clearly nothing actually has changed at all
- 10:42It's just become so much more mainstream
- 10:44It's so much more visible to everybody
- 10:46Because of social media
- 10:47In Canada
- 10:48We don't have this animosity
- 10:49We don't have this like vitriol
- 10:51And hate and anger
- 10:52And it's something that I see
- 10:54It's sad
- 10:55But it's
- 10:56In my opinion
- 10:57Uniquely American
- 10:59I think that this much anger
- 11:01And this much
- 11:02Division
- 11:03I think is
- 11:06Probably fueled by social media
- 11:07By fueled by new cycles
- 11:09But it's I think it's
- 11:10Worse in the US than almost anywhere else
- 11:13In Western civilization
- 11:16And that means that we have the right to be angry
- 11:18Which is cool
- 11:19But I'm curious where all of this hate
- 11:22And anger comes from
- 11:23Because I believe
- 11:24That most people
- 11:25Are not as far left or far right
- 11:28As media makes us out to be
- 11:30I think that most people
- 11:32On average are fiscally conservative socially liberal
- 11:34I think that's the majority
- 11:35They all sort of hover around center-ish
- 11:38And if they're not, they still don't mind
- 11:39Someone disagreeing with them
- 11:40Usually that's the case
- 11:42So where does all this anger and animosity come from
- 11:44I mean now you've like lived in
- 11:46Probably
- 11:46You said that
- 11:49People calling
- 11:50Presidents fascists
- 11:52Is not new
- 11:53But I think that the amount of anger towards one man
- 11:56One man
- 11:57Yeah
- 11:57I don't think that's ever been seen before
- 11:59No, this is new
- 12:00And that's what I was going to say
- 12:01You said it's uniquely American
- 12:03I think it's just uniquely Donald Trump
- 12:05I think if you ask people about Donald Trump
- 12:08In Canada and France
- 12:10And I mean anywhere really
- 12:11You're going to get that same vitriol
- 12:12That we do here
- 12:14I think it's him alone
- 12:16Partially because of himself
- 12:18And how big of a personality he is
- 12:19And more
- 12:20You know, majority because of the media
- 12:22And the circus they created around him
- 12:23And how angry they were when he won despite that
- 12:25And how much harder they doubled down after that
- 12:27And decided that they were not going to stop
- 12:29Until everyone hated each other
- 12:31Because that's what gets them views
- 12:33And that's what works
- 12:34And that's the only way they could prove
- 12:35That they were right about Donald Trump all along
- 12:37Which is all that people really cared about
- 12:38Is not looking like idiots
- 12:40Which is what they all looked like
- 12:41When they thought the man was going to
- 12:43Disappear as a joke
- 12:44And he ended up being president
- 12:45I don't think it's uniquely American
- 12:46I think it's uniquely Donald Trump
- 12:48When he ran in 2015
- 12:49The world changed
- 12:50And I don't know what's going to happen when he's done
- 12:52That's what I was curious about
- 12:54Like you sort of have like an inside view
- 12:55Is to
- 12:57What this campaign was like
- 12:58I know that it was not easy
- 13:00I don't think anyone would think that it's easy
- 13:03But
- 13:05He did change
- 13:06He did change what
- 13:08It means to be a president
- 13:09And what it means to be involved in politics
- 13:12And I'm curious
- 13:14Do you think that
- 13:15Because I think there has to be some sort of healing process
- 13:18And I don't think it's even started yet
- 13:20I think that there's so much
- 13:22I mean, we can talk about what's happening with
- 13:24Like even Elon being associated with the
- 13:29And now people are
- 13:30Burning Tesla's which is ironic
- 13:32Because I'm sure a whole bunch of people
- 13:33The bot them were like
- 13:34Very liberal
- 13:36Yeah, they were
- 13:36Environmental
- 13:38And now we're burning the same electric cars
- 13:40We were trying to mandate
- 13:41So people are angry or
- 13:43Than ever
- 13:43Yeah
- 13:45I mean, it's obviously an over simplistic question
- 13:48But where do we go from here
- 13:49And how does the US start to heal
- 13:52I mean, it's tough for someone like me
- 13:54Because I never bought into it
- 13:56Like I lost friends
- 13:57People didn't like me
- 13:58But I never became the person
- 13:59That was like
- 14:00I am staunch Republican
- 14:01And unless you agree with me
- 14:02You're not my friend
- 14:03I never cared
- 14:05My parents then raised me that way
- 14:07They never cared
- 14:07They voted Democrat
- 14:09And Republican
- 14:09My entire, you know, childhood
- 14:11I just never understood it
- 14:13And in fact, I get bored
- 14:14Being around people who agree with me
- 14:16Like I don't watch Republican media
- 14:18Because there's no point
- 14:19Because I know what they're saying
- 14:20I watch the view every single day
- 14:21I never miss an episode of the view
- 14:23And people laugh at me
- 14:24And it's like
- 14:24Because that's interesting
- 14:25I want to hear what they have to say
- 14:27And I want to know where they're coming from
- 14:28Like I would hope they would want to know
- 14:30Where I'm coming from
- 14:31I think that's what's missing
- 14:34Awesome
- 14:34But I mean, you are
- 14:36I think that that's
- 14:36Like a very mature way to approach politics
- 14:41I don't
- 14:43It's funny
- 14:45When I'm on Twitter
- 14:46I don't feel like anybody feels that way
- 14:48When I'm in the same room as somebody
- 14:50I do feel like most people feel that way
- 14:52Most people are decent people
- 14:54Like I'm never
- 14:55Let me tell you, I've met some really bad people
- 14:57And I've gotten some really nasty messages
- 14:59And I've seen some really ugly stuff
- 15:01But I've traveled this country quite a bit
- 15:03And met a lot of people
- 15:04You know, Trump supporters mostly
- 15:05Because of my work, but otherwise too
- 15:07People are really wonderful
- 15:08Especially in America
- 15:09People are truly wonderful
- 15:11And I think it's sad that we forgot that
- 15:13Instead of celebrating that
- 15:14Like I have
- 15:15Loved everyone that I've met
- 15:17I love meeting new people
- 15:18I love discovering
- 15:19You know, what goes on in this country
- 15:20I got my masters in
- 15:22Social policy and nonprofit work
- 15:24And I remember my first day of class
- 15:26Part of what we have to do for the program
- 15:28Was interning at a nonprofit of our choice
- 15:30And I sat there
- 15:31Being interviewed and interviewing
- 15:32A bunch of, you know, leaders of different nonprofits
- 15:34And I just thought to myself
- 15:35Look how amazing America is
- 15:36How new people are doing this
- 15:38That are not making a dime
- 15:39And doing this out of the goodness of their heart
- 15:41And it doesn't matter how they vote
- 15:42I'm sure most of them voted differently than I did
- 15:44Because they're in the nonprofit space
- 15:45I went to an Ivy League school
- 15:46I know how it works
- 15:47But America is wonderful
- 15:49And people are wonderful
- 15:50And politics is such a tiny part of my personality
- 15:53And I was the spokesperson for the Republican Party
- 15:55So it must be a teeny tiny part of most people's personalities
- 15:58And it doesn't have to be more than that
- 16:00I just move from Canada to Miami
- 16:02As little taxes as possible
- 16:04Okay, I love the weather
- 16:05I'm like, I don't mind social programs
- 16:07That help people that aren't doing well in life
- 16:09Of course, you want everybody to live a good life
- 16:11But I don't feel the need to be like
- 16:14You know, overly, you know, controlled by the government
- 16:17If I don't, if I'm not, you know
- 16:19I respect taxes for like roads
- 16:21And army and all that stuff
- 16:24But that's sort of where I stop
- 16:25And I think a lot of people feel that way
- 16:27And I don't understand somebody
- 16:28Who wants to tie their identity into a political party
- 16:32I don't know who it serves
- 16:33Because I don't really believe
- 16:36This is what I, this is sad
- 16:37But I think it's very true
- 16:39The people that
- 16:41Are hurt the most
- 16:43Are not the people that are successful
- 16:44Depending on who wins an election
- 16:46If you have a good job
- 16:48Your life
- 16:49If you actually think about the day in the life
- 16:51The majority 90% of it does not change
- 16:53Depending on
- 16:54No, people wouldn't know that it's up to the White House
- 16:56It is the people who are below the poverty line
- 16:59Is the people who have no money
- 17:00Whose lives are actually impacted
- 17:03But those are not the people who are yelling the loudest
- 17:06It's people that are multi, multi, multi-millionaires
- 17:09It's people that have had exits
- 17:11It's people that are, you know
- 17:13Earning two, three, four, five hundred thousand dollars plus
- 17:16In coastal cities that are the loudest
- 17:19And that's what I don't understand
- 17:20Why those people are so angry
- 17:22And so polarizing
- 17:24And tying their identity into politics
- 17:26When there's so many better ways for them to spend their time
- 17:28Are they angry or are they bored
- 17:29That's what I don't know
- 17:30I don't know how many of them actually care
- 17:32Because I can tell you I'm not trying to name names
- 17:34But there's a lot of people
- 17:36That you will hear on TV
- 17:37That I heard the last year screaming that Donald Trump
- 17:39Was literally Hitler
- 17:41Want to take America back
- 17:42And then they were calling him the same day
- 17:44And kissing butt
- 17:46Like I can tell you they were in the same room as him
- 17:48Telling him how great he is
- 17:49And that he, they hope that he's
- 17:50You know, keeps in touch with them if he wins
- 17:52And then they're going on TV saying horrible things
- 17:54They're rattling up the people that are actually affected by the election
- 17:57Making them angry
- 17:58It gets views
- 17:59And it gets attention
- 18:00And it gets people now only care about being relevant
- 18:02And it's so unfortunate
- 18:03And it's so sick
- 18:04And that's why I hate social media
- 18:06People A, only care about being relevant
- 18:08And B, they know they can't be embarrassed anymore
- 18:10Because the news cycle changes every two seconds
- 18:12And whatever happens
- 18:13Whatever you say that will get attention
- 18:14Even negative
- 18:15People will forget in an hour
- 18:16And you're no longer in a bad spot
- 18:18You can keep going
- 18:19But you've gained 10,000 followers
- 18:20That's all people care
- 18:21It's all self-serving
- 18:22Yeah every
- 18:22There's no, there's no advocating for a party
- 18:26Because of the American ideal
- 18:29The American dream
- 18:30It's all self-serving
- 18:32Yeah and I think people that want to tie themselves to a party
- 18:34Also
- 18:36Believe that it will get them attention
- 18:38And it's like the almost a cool niche thing to do
- 18:40Because in reality the average person doesn't know
- 18:42Who they're going to vote for in four years
- 18:44Or in eight years or in 12 years
- 18:45I was the spokesman for the Republican Party
- 18:48I am not going to tell you right now that in 20 years
- 18:50I'm voting Republican
- 18:51Because that's not who I am
- 18:51I don't know where the party will be
- 18:53I don't know who the candidate will be
- 18:54If you agree to tie yourself to a party
- 18:56You're doing it to make some kind of a statement
- 18:59No rational human being says
- 19:00I'm going to vote with this party
- 19:01For the next 40 years
- 19:02Hell or high
- 19:03No you sound insane for saying
- 19:05Exactly
- 19:05And you sound insane for tying yourself to a party
- 19:07That is, I mean look at both parties
- 19:08They've changed immensely
- 19:10Look at the Democrats that are now in Donald Trump's cabinet
- 19:13Things change and they can change again
- 19:14And the pendulum swings
- 19:16I think it's very strange
- 19:18How much people think that this should be a part
- 19:20Of your identity and your life
- 19:21When it really doesn't matter
- 19:22And the people that are heavily involved
- 19:24They know it doesn't matter
- 19:25But the everyday Americans don't
- 19:27When you leaned into politics
- 19:29What was the most sort of shocking personal cost?
- 19:32Friends, family
- 19:35Peace of mind
- 19:36I was mostly peace of mind
- 19:39Like it's just a gross place to be
- 19:41Why did you become the spokesperson then?
- 19:44I still don't understand that
- 19:45And you've told me this
- 19:46Like this is the podcast question
- 19:48But also like that
- 19:49No, I mean I don't know if I ever answered this
- 19:51Donald Trump was running for office
- 19:53Obviously right, it's the third campaign
- 19:54I've been in Trump world since 2016
- 19:56I met my husband to Donald Trump
- 19:58My brother and I have the life that we have
- 20:00Because of that first campaign
- 20:01I have spent a lot of time with Donald Trump and his family
- 20:04When I debate and I talk to people about Donald Trump
- 20:07It's not political, I will never have
- 20:08A political debate unless I'm being paid to do it
- 20:10I don't care, I don't want to debate you
- 20:12I believe everyone should have their own ideas
- 20:13But I'm defending Donald Trump or his family
- 20:15It's because I know them personally
- 20:16And they've been good to me
- 20:18So I'm at the point
- 20:19This is early 2024
- 20:20Donald Trump is in
- 20:22You know, full swing
- 20:23The last year of the campaign
- 20:25Donald Trump is fighting against
- 20:26I mean, indictments and attacks
- 20:29And everything under the sun
- 20:30I'm thinking to myself this isn't fair
- 20:32Like I know this guy did not do what they're saying
- 20:34He did, I know they're throwing everything at him
- 20:36This is the least American thing I've ever seen
- 20:38If I have a chance to get involved
- 20:39Maybe I should
- 20:41At that point
- 20:42The chair of the Republican Party
- 20:46Is voted out
- 20:48They vote in new leadership
- 20:49Michael Watley comes in
- 20:51As the chairman, Laura Trump comes in as a co-chair
- 20:54The family of Donald Trump, the president
- 20:56Former president
- 20:57At that point, I'm thinking maybe future president
- 20:59Asked if I'd like to be the spokesperson
- 21:01Of the Republican Party
- 21:03And I'm thinking to myself
- 21:04A, I have a responsibility here
- 21:06I'm the daughter of two immigrants
- 21:08Who came to the country with no money at all
- 21:10And I could be, you know, the face of one of two major political parties in this country
- 21:13That is a huge deal
- 21:14Or
- 21:15And be, I know what's going on isn't right
- 21:17I love this country more than anything in the world
- 21:19I have no loyalty to the Republican Party Democrat
- 21:21Nothing
- 21:22But I love this country
- 21:23I believe he's the best person for this country
- 21:25If I have a chance to do something good
- 21:27Like why would I not
- 21:28You know, do it
- 21:29I had a lot of, you know, fear
- 21:31A lot of people went after me
- 21:32And my family the last, you know, 10 years
- 21:35But it's just such an honor
- 21:36To be a part of it at that level
- 21:38And to know that this is the craziest election at least in my lifetime
- 21:42But probably in the life
- 21:43People's lifetimes
- 21:44It's craziest of the lifetimes
- 21:45And yeah, and I get the closest, you know, the real front seat to all of it
- 21:50It was a privilege and an honor and it was really hard at times
- 21:53But obviously zero regrets
- 21:55But yeah, it's a lot
- 21:57But hey, it worked

- 23:56Obviously again, very crazy election
- 23:59What do you think happens in four years
- 24:02I have no idea
- 24:03I'm so scared actually of what happens
- 24:05Because I want like you said
- 24:06I want things to calm down
- 24:07Yeah
- 24:08And I don't know if they'll calm down
- 24:09Because Donald Trump's name isn't on the ballot
- 24:12Or if we have just set ourselves up
- 24:14For the next 30 years of anger
- 24:15No matter who's on the ballot
- 24:16Because we're supposed to hate each other
- 24:18I really don't know
- 24:19Well part of it
- 24:20Part of the anger comes from his personality
- 24:22So somebody with less of a personality
- 24:26May not incite as much anger
- 24:27But they also probably
- 24:29You know
- 24:30Again, this is me defending him
- 24:32And his personality
- 24:33I spent a lot of time with him
- 24:35A lot of things that he says
- 24:36The people think he said
- 24:37It's actually not at all what he said
- 24:39Oh no, I know
- 24:40I can't report it really
- 24:40On text all
- 24:41I think actually
- 24:42He has a great personality
- 24:44And there's more good
- 24:46I'm sure I mean he's very tough
- 24:47And he says a lot of things and I get it
- 24:48There's a lot of things he says
- 24:49That if reported correctly
- 24:50People would actually like him more
- 24:52Because he's so down to earth
- 24:53And he's so funny
- 24:53And he's actually surprisingly normal
- 24:55So I don't know if it's the personality
- 24:57That's the problem
- 24:58Or if it's just the way that we report nowadays
- 25:00Where we don't report it
- 25:01Finally anymore, we report
- 25:02Based on the message we want to put out there
- 25:04And so no matter who the next candidate is
- 25:06If we don't like them
- 25:06We will twist their words
- 25:08And make you hate them
- 25:08No matter who they are
- 25:09And what they actually say
- 25:11Well, yeah
- 25:11So obviously that happens on both sides
- 25:14But I think that I see
- 25:15More
- 25:17Twisting of facts with liberal media
- 25:19Yeah
- 25:20I see it like all the time
- 25:21And it's actually
- 25:22It is very concerning
- 25:23How do people
- 25:25Listen, people are busy
- 25:26And people don't have time
- 25:28Of course
- 25:28To spend the energy
- 25:30To research every single bit of it
- 25:32I always say
- 25:32If I was not as close as I was
- 25:34Maybe I would hate Donald Trump
- 25:35If I was just reading headlines
- 25:37I don't blame anyone
- 25:38Who are feeling the way that they feel
- 25:39Because they all have
- 25:40Children and jobs
- 25:41And you know
- 25:42A mortgage and things to care about
- 25:43They only get to read the headlines
- 25:45Sometimes
- 25:45You don't get to research every speech
- 25:46He's ever made
- 25:47And see what he actually said or didn't say
- 25:49What responsibility do you think
- 25:52Falls on political leaders
- 25:53To heal the country
- 25:54And to sort of bridge
- 25:56This huge gap
- 25:59You know, I don't have a lot of faith
- 26:00In any political leaders
- 26:02I think it falls on us
- 26:03They're going to come and go
- 26:06A lot of them are going to be in there
- 26:08For a really, really, really long time
- 26:09I mean, if you look at some of these politicians
- 26:12I advocate really hard for term limits
- 26:13And there's a reason
- 26:14I mean, they've been in there for 10, 20, 30, 40 years
- 26:18I don't think it falls on them
- 26:19Because they genuinely don't care
- 26:21Like I would love to say
- 26:22Politicians should bring us together
- 26:23And I'm angry at so many politicians
- 26:24Who decided in 2016
- 26:27Participate in tearing us apart
- 26:28But they don't care
- 26:29Like the fact is it doesn't affect their lives
- 26:31If anything, it helps them to fundraise
- 26:33If we're angry
- 26:34So I don't think the responsibility falls on them
- 26:36I think it falls on all of us
- 26:37Who love this country
- 26:38And want the best for future children
- 26:40And grandchildren to be able to play
- 26:41With those whose parents might disagree
- 26:43With how you voted
- 26:43Because it doesn't matter
- 26:45What in your mind
- 26:46Does it mean to be American
- 26:49Outside of like legal definition
- 26:52It's weird because again
- 26:53I have this mentality
- 26:55Because my parents are immigrants
- 26:56So I always say I have the privilege
- 26:58Of being the daughter of two immigrants
- 26:59I think about things very differently
- 27:02But
- 27:04Knowing how my parents were raised
- 27:05Knowing that my mom was beaten
- 27:06In school for being a Jew
- 27:08My dad said goodbye to his father
- 27:10Never seeing him again
- 27:11Finding out later on after his father died
- 27:13And the Soviet Union collapsed
- 27:14But there was a KGB file on his family
- 27:16And that the KGB was tracking his father
- 27:18And that's why he never got to see him
- 27:20To me that's what it means to be American
- 27:22Is that my parents had to live a very different life
- 27:24That I had to live
- 27:25But being American
- 27:26I mean we say freedom
- 27:27Right like what is freedom
- 27:29I mean that's really what it means to be an American
- 27:32A lot of people
- 27:33Everywhere around the world
- 27:34Have to live their life a certain way
- 27:36And no they don't have to legally
- 27:37Live a certain way even
- 27:38But they all live a certain way
- 27:39Because it's not a part of their blood
- 27:41And their culture
- 27:41And their personalities
- 27:43To try to be different
- 27:45It's kind of a part of ours
- 27:47You know
- 27:47That you can do whatever you want
- 27:48And you can fail at everything in the world
- 27:50But we encourage you to try
- 27:52That's American
- 27:53Which I love
- 27:54And I guess then the follow up question is
- 27:56We give so much leeway
- 27:59To try new things to think differently
- 28:01Like that is freedom
- 28:03Right
- 28:04How with that much leeway
- 28:07And freedom
- 28:09Do you see younger generations
- 28:11Having this rise of like anti-American sentiment
- 28:14Like I don't understand how
- 28:17Just the ability to be anti-American
- 28:22Like do you understand how privileged you are
- 28:25To be able to go through life
- 28:26And to even think those thoughts
- 28:28And vocalize those thoughts
- 28:30Because if you go to any other country
- 28:32And
- 28:32Anywhere
- 28:33Anywhere
- 28:34Almost anywhere
- 28:34Almost anywhere
- 28:36You would not be alive for long or ever heard of again
- 28:40So I'm so curious how freedom
- 28:42Leads to anti-American sentiment
- 28:44Which you see in colleges
- 28:45And
- 28:46I mean
- 28:47A
- 28:47It's almost a beautiful thing
- 28:49As much as I hate to see it
- 28:50How incredible that we live in a country
- 28:52Where you can burn that American flag
- 28:53And I was going to do anything to you
- 28:55Like how amazing that these kids can
- 28:57Spout whatever nonsense they want
- 28:59And say how horrible this country is
- 29:00And they actually get applauded
- 29:01Because we support speech even if we hate it
- 29:03Even if it makes us physically sick
- 29:05We will defend your right to say whatever you want
- 29:07So a part of me even when I see it
- 29:09I'm actually happy
- 29:09Because my parents weren't allowed to criticize anyone
- 29:12I'm packing her up
- 29:12Definitely not
- 29:13No
- 29:13So as much as I disagree
- 29:14A
- 29:15Still not
- 29:15People fought and died
- 29:16So that you can say whatever you want
- 29:18And it's beautiful that we let
- 29:19In 2025
- 29:20We continued the American way
- 29:21And you can still do that
- 29:22Because that's what I fight for every day
- 29:24It's very easy to fight for people to speak
- 29:26Who you agree with
- 29:27So
- 29:27Hey I think it's great
- 29:29At the same time
- 29:31It's concerning
- 29:32Very concerning
- 29:32If you look at the numbers
- 29:33People get less patriotic
- 29:35With every generation
- 29:36And
- 29:36Young people don't know what they have
- 29:38And I think if people put their phones down
- 29:40And professors started
- 29:41Teaching a little more
- 29:42And maybe
- 29:43Stopped being activists
- 29:44And started being professors again
- 29:47People opened a history book
- 29:48Maybe
- 29:49Maybe even
- 29:50Look around
- 29:50What's going on in the world right now
- 29:52And it feels a lot better
- 29:53But
- 29:54You know it's a combination of being super grateful
- 29:56That I live in the country
- 29:57Where you can criticize it as much as you want
- 29:59And be being concerned
- 30:00That every generation
- 30:01Loves America a little bit less
- 30:02And
- 30:03People are to this day
- 30:04Fighting and dying
- 30:05So that we can appreciate what we have
- 30:07And many people don't understand that
- 30:08I mean what does that
- 30:09What does that lead to in
- 30:1110-15 years from now
- 30:13I did knock her out with like
- 30:14Again like even if
- 30:16Just to give context
- 30:17Even if colleges or universities
- 30:19How we call them in Canada
- 30:21Were a little bit more
- 30:23Liberal
- 30:23Which they were
- 30:24I think
- 30:24I think college universities
- 30:26Are always
- 30:26Sque a little bit more liberal
- 30:29It was liberal in terms of like
- 30:31Criminal justice reform
- 30:33Or maybe
- 30:34Immigration is a little bit easier
- 30:37But it was all under the context of
- 30:38This country is great
- 30:40And we're going to try and improve
- 30:42The
- 30:43We're going to try and improve the country
- 30:45And we're going to try and make it easier
- 30:46People to win in this country
- 30:48Not
- 30:49This country's shitty
- 30:50It was never replacing the country
- 30:52It was like how do we
- 30:53Under the
- 30:53Under the frameworks that exist
- 30:55Make it
- 30:55Make life better
- 30:57This new
- 30:59Anti-American
- 31:00Whatever anti-country
- 31:02Really
- 31:04Idealism is
- 31:05Very scary
- 31:06And I've never seen a generation
- 31:08Grow up
- 31:09Hating the country
- 31:10That they're born into
- 31:12It's also like
- 31:14I'm watching the definition of liberalism change
- 31:16Because liberalism at one point
- 31:18Was a celebration of diversity of thought
- 31:21And most liberals would defend
- 31:22People that disagreed with them
- 31:23Because they wanted them to have
- 31:25That polar opposite opinion
- 31:26They wanted the diversity
- 31:28Liberal nowadays
- 31:29Doesn't mean that anymore
- 31:30That's not what we see
- 31:31So I think
- 31:32The problem is not that the college is lean left
- 31:34The problem is that they've changed the definition
- 31:35Of what liberalism actually represents
- 31:37They've made themselves into activists
- 31:40Believing that liberalism
- 31:41Is what they think is
- 31:43Being a supporter of something on the left
- 31:44And they should fight to the death for that
- 31:46The reality is that's not liberalism
- 31:48It's embracing the fact that people around you
- 31:50Disagree with you
- 31:51And being in a college or university
- 31:53Is the time when you're supposed to have those debates
- 31:55And those conversations
- 31:56And those different thoughts
- 31:57And I think we should just go back
- 31:58To that and that might end up
- 32:00With people disagreeing with America
- 32:02That's okay
- 32:02But that's not what they're doing right now
- 32:04They're not thinking it through
- 32:05And having those debates
- 32:06They're just teaching people that America is bad
- 32:08And that's the problem
- 32:09If you let people think
- 32:10And you let people debate
- 32:12They're going to end up with a very different conclusion
- 32:14You obviously have been an advocate for Israel
- 32:16Far before October 7th
- 32:18So what happened
- 32:20What happened to the world in October 7th
- 32:23When we stopped seeing
- 32:25This is going to be a leading question
- 32:26And obviously you know my opinion
- 32:28And feelings on this
- 32:29But when we stopped seeing terrorists
- 32:30As terrorists
- 32:31Like this again
- 32:33I feel like the way that I
- 32:35Question what's happening in the world right now
- 32:38It's as if
- 32:42I don't know
- 32:42It's as if like the reality that I lived in
- 32:45No longer exists
- 32:46It's like if you take me out
- 32:48And drop me in some alternate reality
- 32:50Where terrorists are no longer terrorists
- 32:52No, they're celebrated
- 32:53And they're celebrated
- 32:54And they're not only celebrated
- 32:56Their flags are celebrated in the US
- 32:58And the US flags are burnt
- 33:00And Israeli flags are burnt
- 33:02And a terrorist flags are
- 33:05Like you know
- 33:06Paraded down streets
- 33:08And nobody
- 33:08Right by like the twin towers
- 33:10Right, that's the crazy
- 33:11When you see the flags
- 33:13Of terrorist groups
- 33:14Like marching down
- 33:15Where the twin towers were
- 33:16And I don't understand what you said
- 33:18I guess I guess I was just surprised
- 33:21That there was such a dramatic shift
- 33:22That happened in sentiment
- 33:24That I was not aware of
- 33:26Because even when so
- 33:28My dad worked for
- 33:29For ceases
- 33:30Which is Canadian security
- 33:31Intelligence services
- 33:32And for heavily with like shin bat
- 33:34And also
- 33:35Intelligence organizations in the US
- 33:37And Canada
- 33:39It was always like
- 33:40Israel is the bastion of democracy
- 33:42And intelligence as well
- 33:44In the Middle East
- 33:45And it was always like
- 33:46They're the ones that have sort of
- 33:48They are the
- 33:49What's the phrase
- 33:50It's like you're the first
- 33:52I guess first line of defense against
- 33:53They're fighting our enemies
- 33:54Anything
- 33:56And for some reason
- 33:57All of that changed
- 33:59And I don't know when it happened
- 34:00But I realized it happened on October 7
- 34:03When people were like
- 34:04Oh you know
- 34:05I don't know if it really happened
- 34:08Well I think they had it calming
- 34:10You know excuse me
- 34:11Yeah
- 34:12What
- 34:12People asked me like
- 34:13How did October 7 hit you
- 34:15And it's as awful as that day was
- 34:17And I remember sitting on the floor
- 34:18For like 10 hours straight
- 34:19Watching the footage and sobbing
- 34:21What happened after
- 34:22Actually hurt more
- 34:23Because I thought I'd wake up
- 34:24To the entire world
- 34:25Defending
- 34:26Israel
- 34:26Kind of like post 9-11
- 34:28Right I thought the world was going to say
- 34:30Released
- 34:30I mean I think at the point
- 34:32October 7 and October 8
- 34:33We didn't actually know
- 34:34How many people were murdered
- 34:35Yet we didn't know how many people were taken
- 34:37Hostage that it was very confusing
- 34:38But I thought I'd wake up that day
- 34:40And have the entire world screaming
- 34:41For these people to
- 34:42You know come home
- 34:43I know we knew some people were taken
- 34:44Hostage
- 34:44I thought we would
- 34:45You know be screaming about
- 34:46What just happened
- 34:48In the middle east
- 34:48I didn't think I'd live through that
- 34:50In my lifetime
- 34:50You know I've run a
- 34:52Holocaust museum
- 34:53A digital Holocaust museum
- 34:54And I'm sorting through
- 34:55Materials and images
- 34:56From the Holocaust
- 34:57The weekly
- 34:58I never thought I'd live through a time
- 35:00When the imagery
- 35:00I was seeing actually reminded me
- 35:02So much of what I
- 35:03Unfortunately have to
- 35:04Sort through from
- 35:05You know 80 years ago
- 35:06But that's what it was
- 35:07And then I woke up to a bunch of people
- 35:09Celebrating
- 35:10What happened
- 35:10Saying Israel deserved it
- 35:12And ripping down
- 35:13You know
- 35:14posters of
- 35:14Nine-month-old babies
- 35:15Being held hostage
- 35:16As if it was propaganda
- 35:18Or they deserved it
- 35:19Or whatever else
- 35:19God forbid people were sent
- 35:20But have you thought
- 35:21About what shifted in the world
- 35:23The lead to the change of sentiment
- 35:25I mean I think it was
- 35:27The last few years or a blur
- 35:28Maybe it was after October 7
- 35:30But remember a year or two ago
- 35:32Maybe a year
- 35:32When Al-Sama bin Laden's letter
- 35:33Went viral on TikTok
- 35:35And all the you know
- 35:3615 to 19-year-olds were saying
- 35:38Al-Sama bin Laden had a point
- 35:40Yeah
- 35:40I mean clearly the shift is greater than
- 35:42Just to do with Israel
- 35:43You know like it's nothing to do
- 35:45With Israel
- 35:45Anti-Semitism is easy
- 35:46So we all
- 35:47Bounce on attacking Israel
- 35:48Because why not scapegoat the Jews
- 35:50Were used to it
- 35:51But it's a lot deeper than Israel
- 35:52I mean we're celebrating terrorists
- 35:54And they will celebrate the terrorists
- 35:55If they did it here too
- 35:56Like how do we fall so far
- 35:58Where a night
- 35:59Whatever at 18-19-year-old on TikTok
- 36:01Things that Osama bin Laden
- 36:02Point
- 36:03How to point
- 36:05Actually
- 36:06Like what the fuck
- 36:07Is wrong with people
- 36:09Yeah you can totally curse
- 36:11This is fucking insane
- 36:12And I just don't understand how
- 36:14Like
- 36:15Because
- 36:16Who were the parents
- 36:18Who were the influences on those 19-year-olds
- 36:20That part I think has been good
- 36:22Because a lot of parents
- 36:24Talking to
- 36:24I mean I've talked to so many students
- 36:26And parents as October 7
- 36:27So many parents had no idea
- 36:29What was going on on these campuses
- 36:30And they were you know paying hundreds of thousands of dollars
- 36:33For this education
- 36:34And then seeing their kid
- 36:35Camped out in a tent with the flag
- 36:37You know
- 36:37Camped out in a tent
- 36:39Outside the campus with the Hamas flag
- 36:41You know displayed on their face
- 36:42And they're wondering what the hell happened to my kid
- 36:44My Jewish kid very often too
- 36:45So I think that's the good thing
- 36:46Is people are like wait
- 36:48We can't put all this faith in our institutions
- 36:50Maybe the Department of Education
- 36:52Should not be educating my kid
- 36:53And be I should be educating my kid
- 36:54And I think a lot of people thank God woke up
- 36:56Because of that
- 36:57They had no idea that their kids were being sent away to these schools
- 37:00Coming back four years later
- 37:01And thinking of some of them a lot and had a point
- 37:03So that's been good
- 37:04People have actually woke up
- 37:05When did the when did the curriculum shift
- 37:08Is it's a while ago
- 37:10It's it's it's been a I mean
- 37:11I don't even feel like I'm 34
- 37:13Yeah
- 37:14I don't like I was in university
- 37:15Okay what like
- 37:1714 13
- 37:18Whatever 12 years ago
- 37:20I don't remember like this was not something
- 37:22So
- 37:23That was relieved by my generation
- 37:25This is more to do with Israel
- 37:26But I went to get my masters
- 37:2820 22
- 37:30Yeah so I graduated in May a few months before October 7
- 37:34Before I went and I went to UPEN
- 37:36Again great school large Jewish community
- 37:38That's why I wanted to go to Penn
- 37:40When I got into Penn
- 37:42They had an orientation for students before they you know accepted their
- 37:46Like accepted the I guess they said acceptance letter
- 37:50You have to you know accept the offer or not
- 37:52Before you accept the author the offer they had this orientation
- 37:54There's a Jewish girl there who was completing her masters in the same program
- 37:58And I asked her what is it like to be a Jew on campus
- 38:02Because I was curious I had heard stories I hadn't been in school in a while
- 38:04She said to me I'll never forget
- 38:06The kids in this class
- 38:08Would rather find out that you were at the January 6th Capitol right
- 38:10And that you're a Zionist
- 38:12And I was like okay
- 38:14So this is things are things are different
- 38:16And again Zionist just means you think Israel has a right to exist
- 38:18That's all that means
- 38:20So that's been used for many others
- 38:22Of course so that's when I realized things had shifted
- 38:24But I nothing could have prepared me for October 8th
- 38:26And for waking up and being told the Jews deserved it
- 38:28These kids deserved it
- 38:30It's propaganda knowing that you know
- 38:32The footage was blasted across every social media network
- 38:34And people still say it's fake
- 38:36Nothing could have prepared me for October 8th
- 38:38Or the 17 months since
- 38:40You know
- 38:42I've had a couple conversations with friends about this
- 38:48And
- 38:50They've kind of like oversimplified why there's so much anti-Semitism
- 38:56And I'm going to say this but I don't agree with anti-Zionism
- 39:00Which is I think synonymous
- 39:02But people will say that it's not
- 39:04I think they're just trying to
- 39:06Yeah it's a fun easy out to say I hate the Jews
- 39:08But a lot of the thought was
- 39:12For some reason
- 39:14Like Hamas and pro-Palestine groups
- 39:18Were really good at social media
- 39:20Post-October 7th
- 39:22And pro-Israel groups were not
- 39:26To the same degree
- 39:28And that was something that they leaned into
- 39:30And exploited so much that you saw
- 39:32Propaganda
- 39:34Everywhere
- 39:36And I'm just curious
- 39:38Because obviously you are in social media
- 39:40And I'm wondering how big of an impact
- 39:42You think that actually made on the world
- 39:44I hate being this person
- 39:46Because it becomes a very different conversation
- 39:48And we can talk about this for hours
- 39:50But the fact is social media has allowed our enemies
- 39:52To infiltrate this country
- 39:54In the easiest way possible
- 39:56By hitting the next generation
- 39:58Right? No one knows what's going on
- 40:00No one knows what 14-year-olds are doing on their phones
- 40:02No one can stop them from being on their phones
- 40:04Or being on these apps
- 40:06And anyone in the world can feed them whatever material that they want
- 40:08That has been the largest problem
- 40:10That has taken over
- 40:12I have a problem with politicians
- 40:14I have a problem with professors
- 40:16I have a lot of problems with a lot of people
- 40:18But the fact is when anyone in Russia
- 40:20And anyone in China
- 40:22And anyone in the Middle East
- 40:24Can access your 13-year-old
- 40:26And tell them how to feel and how to think
- 40:28About things like terrorism
- 40:30And change their mind
- 40:32And educate them in a way
- 40:34You don't know what's happening
- 40:36Because you're tuned out
- 40:38I do want to understand
- 40:40What your career looks like going forward
- 40:42But also I'm going to ask you like personal questions about how you manage stress
- 40:46Because I don't think
- 40:48You said this interview
- 40:50You said this is a dark interview
- 40:52Yeah because I have conversations with like entrepreneurs
- 40:54And they manage stress in a very different arena
- 40:56Right? They manage stress in business build
- 40:58The real world
- 41:00But it's not the real world
- 41:02I don't know
- 41:04But
- 41:06I don't think that many people
- 41:08Understand the level of stress
- 41:10That you deal with only because of the position
- 41:12That you chose to put yourself in
- 41:14Which is a massacre
- 41:16Oh, slightly
- 41:18So where do you go from here?
- 41:20Because you've, you know, you stepped out
- 41:22Of the spokesperson position
- 41:24Do you want to stay in politics?
- 41:26I'm assuming no
- 41:28I don't want to stay in politics
- 41:30No
- 41:32It's weird because I don't see it as politics
- 41:34Like I never saw myself even as Republican
- 41:36I was just a spokesperson for this movement
- 41:38And this candidate who I thought in this election
- 41:40Was the best most obvious choice for this country
- 41:42So I don't see it as political
- 41:44Would I work for a different candidate?
- 41:46Absolutely not
- 41:48A, I'm done, I can't take anymore and B
- 41:50I've grown very close to him and to his family
- 41:52And it's personal for me now
- 41:54And there's a reason that I fought so hard for them
- 41:56And believe this hard as I did
- 41:58That he was the best choice
- 42:00At the same time he's in for four years
- 42:02I'm to consider a job in the administration
- 42:04So you never know
- 42:06Pretty likely I'd put up for there
- 42:10I mean you've put on like you've put your own ambitions
- 42:12Side to a degree
- 42:14Yeah, I mean I've put my sanity aside
- 42:16It's not fair to say that what I've done
- 42:18It's not fair to say that what I've done
- 42:20We do this in another four years
- 42:22We should make the tradition like every four years
- 42:24Yeah, in four years
- 42:26We'll be sitting with our kids
- 42:28And what we're doing
- 42:30It's not fair for me to say I've put ambition aside
- 42:34Because a lot of people go into politics solely because they're ambitious
- 42:36And I'm not going to pretend that I don't have an amazing platform and following
- 42:40And career opportunities now
- 42:42Because I, you know, I did it
- 42:44That's kind of part of what I did it
- 42:46I believed in what I believed in
- 42:48But I'm not going to lie and say I didn't also bring me immense success
- 42:50It wouldn't have had me lost
- 42:52But it did bring me immense success
- 42:54So I don't want to pretend that that wasn't
- 42:56A part of it
- 42:58In my life, like a lot of people do
- 43:00I will advocate, you know, in media
- 43:02Like I do probably forever
- 43:04And one way or another because it's an amazing platform
- 43:06And I'm so lucky to get to do it
- 43:08And I remember
- 43:10But what do you, like what do you want to speak on?
- 43:12I get it, like I see you on radio
- 43:14This won't it?
- 43:16You see me on radio?
- 43:18You know what I mean
- 43:20I see you every time you go on like KGXM, 100 FM, whatever in New York
- 43:22Or whatever the, the channel
- 43:24There's channels that I'd never listened to
- 43:26And I trust real radio AM stations
- 43:28That I don't think anybody under 40 listens to anymore
- 43:30Or whatever you're on these stations
- 43:32So I'm on all the stations
- 43:34You're on all that you do a lot of media
- 43:36But what are you trying to advocate for going forward?
- 43:38I mean your guy is in office for four years
- 43:42Obviously you will always advocate for Israel
- 43:46But what is your passion now
- 43:48Outside of politics and Israel
- 43:50I don't know
- 43:52I feel like when I'm advocating
- 43:54And if I'm on television and I'm talking about something very often
- 43:56It's, you know, policy related
- 43:58And more likely than not
- 44:00It's pro-America, pro-Israel
- 44:02It's almost like surface-level stuff
- 44:04We can debate policies all we want
- 44:06And I'm happy to do it
- 44:08But until we get to the point of admitting
- 44:10For example, America good, terrorist bad
- 44:12There's no point in debating policies
- 44:14So a lot of it is actually very surface-level basic stuff
- 44:16Because of the low point that we're in in society
- 44:18But yeah, I mean I'm in media
- 44:20I'm on radio or television every day
- 44:22What frustrates you most about America right now?
- 44:24I'm not frustrated
- 44:26Like I'm not frustrated by America
- 44:28I think America is killing it
- 44:30I really do
- 44:32Compared to the rest of the world especially
- 44:34I'm frustrated by people
- 44:36Who think that they know who somebody is because of how they voted
- 44:38It's just like it's a very awkward place to be
- 44:40Because
- 44:42Not a lot of people know more people
- 44:44In this administration or in like Donald Trump circle
- 44:46And Republican politics than I do for example
- 44:48And I know all of them
- 44:50I like some, I don't like others
- 44:52But I don't have these feelings about any of them
- 44:54Because of their politics
- 44:56That's a who they are as people
- 44:58Yeah, and so for me, I just again
- 45:00It's easy for me to say that because I'm as close as I am
- 45:02But no one really is their politics
- 45:04Like we're all so much deeper
- 45:06And I've had better friendships
- 45:08And better relationships and better conversations
- 45:10These last few years with people who disagree with me politically
- 45:12Than I have with those who don't
- 45:14There's a lot of people who people assume I should be friends with
- 45:16Because we vote the same way, who I can't stand
- 45:18And it's just like a very strange place to be in
- 45:20Where I have so much hatred
- 45:22For a lot of people who vote the same way as me
- 45:24Just because I've met them over the years
- 45:26And that's what my circle is and they're just assholes
- 45:28It doesn't matter how they vote
- 45:30And then I love a lot of people who dislike
- 45:32A lot of the policies that I support or dislike Donald Trump
- 45:34And they still know that I'm a good person
- 45:36I still know that they're good people and they assume
- 45:38Because I support him as Donald Trump must be good too
- 45:40They just don't like his policies
- 45:42And it's so weird to me that that is like a foreign concept
- 45:44To people in America where it's so easy to understand that
- 45:46Because you can turn left and talk to one neighbor who voted Trump
- 45:48Turn right and talk to the other neighbor who voted for Kamala Harris
- 45:50And realize at the end of the day your kids have a lot in common
- 45:52You both want safety and security for your family
- 45:54You want, you know, to pay off your mortgage you want
- 45:56Same hobbies, yeah, you want to adopt pets
- 45:58And you want to raise happy kids
- 46:00And you want to celebrate your life forth together
- 46:02And that's it, like nothing else really matters
- 46:04Especially when you forget the core stuff
- 46:06And it's just it's a really sad awkward place
- 46:08To be honest, I most want to scream at people
- 46:10Like this doesn't matter
- 46:12And you're listening to people that are doing what they're doing
- 46:14And saying what they're doing
- 46:16Because it makes them money to anger you
- 46:18Not because they actually believe in what they're saying
- 46:20Because they can't
- 46:22I don't think many people realize this
- 46:24And I know that you and you know
- 46:26You can discuss whatever you feel comfortable discussing
- 46:28And I know that you're aware of like where money flows
- 46:30Much more than I am
- 46:32But I think that it's important
- 46:34First of all that that whole idea
- 46:36Is very important for people to understand
- 46:38Like people are not their policies
- 46:40Or their 2016 vote
- 46:42And also the people that are the pundits
- 46:44That are on Fox
- 46:46You know MSNBC
- 46:48YouTube
- 46:50Pick a political podcast
- 46:52Whatever
- 46:54Think about incentives
- 46:56Like they're incentivized
- 46:58Of course
- 47:00With massive amounts of money
- 47:02And they need you to tune in that night
- 47:04Like they need you to turn on your TV and watch
- 47:06When we can all agree that it's a lot healthier
- 47:08If you had to turn off the TV
- 47:10It's your work or take out a hobby
- 47:12But instead you're turning on the TV
- 47:14And that's why they have to keep screaming
- 47:16So you keep turning on the TV
- 47:18I just want to take a second
- 47:20And thank cornbread ham for supporting today's episode
- 47:22Now cornbread ham CBD gummies have been
- 47:24This really nice addition to my wellness toolkit
- 47:26I don't use them every day
- 47:28Just when I want to win wine after those extra busy weeks
- 47:32But they're perfect for those moments
- 47:34When you want to take the edge off
- 47:36And just find your balance
- 47:38So cornbread ham perhaps them
- 47:40They only use a flower of USDA
- 47:42Organic hamplants
- 47:44That's the best part for the purest
- 47:46Most potent experience
- 47:48No fillers, no artificial fluff
- 47:50Just clean, full spectrum goodness
- 47:52And delicious watermelon berry
- 47:54And peach flavor
- 47:56I keep them in my nightstand for those moments
- 47:58When I just need a little extra help relaxing
- 48:00And I love how transparent they are too
- 48:02Every batch is third party lab test
- 48:04It's you know exactly what you're getting
- 48:06So if you're having a hard time
- 48:08And if you're having a hard time
- 48:10And if you're having a hard time
- 48:12And if you're having a hard time
- 48:14And if you're having a hard time
- 48:16And if you're having a hard time
- 48:18And if you're having a hard time
- 48:20And if you're having a hard time
- 48:22And if you're having a hard time
- 48:24And if you're having a hard time
- 48:26And if you're having a hard time
- 48:28And if you're having a hard time
- 48:30And if you're having a hard time
- 48:32And if you're having a hard time
- 48:34And if you're having a hard time
- 48:36And if you're having a hard time
- 48:38And if you're having a hard time
- 48:40And if you're having a hard time
- 48:42And if you're having a hard time
- 48:44And if you're having a hard time
- 48:46And if you're having a hard time
- 48:48And if you're having a hard time
- 48:50And if you're having a hard time
- 48:52And if you're having a hard time
- 48:54And if you're having a hard time
- 48:56And if you're having a hard time
- 48:58And if you're having a hard time
- 49:00And if you're having a hard time
- 49:02I don't know, but I'd say a lot of the ones
- 49:04That you think are really really decent people
- 49:06Even if you disagree or agree with the policy aside
- 49:08The ones you think are like decent good people
- 49:10Are real scumbags
- 49:12And some of the ones that you cannot stand
- 49:14You actually have a really good time
- 49:16Getting coffee with
- 49:18Like you really really wouldn't you hate yourself for it
- 49:20Because America now believes you have to
- 49:22But you really would have a good time with some of them
- 49:24You know, you mentioned that Trump was
- 49:26Sort of not politically
- 49:28But just like in terms of his work ethic
- 49:30Who is the person like very inspiring
- 49:32Especially when you started out
- 49:34What was the most important lesson that you've learned from him
- 49:38Over working with him for years now
- 49:40I mean everyone talks about this
- 49:42And people always say that like his legacy
- 49:44Will be this policy or that policy
- 49:46And you know, a lot of it is great
- 49:48Especially if you you know on that same side
- 49:50But again, politics aside
- 49:52Donald Trump
- 49:54According to a lot of people
- 49:56Was supposed to die in jail
- 49:58Like everything was done at him this year
- 50:00In 2016 he wasn't supposed to get near
- 50:02You know Hillary Clinton
- 50:04He was supposed to lose the primary
- 50:06At 2% where he started and call it a day
- 50:08Everybody laughed at him
- 50:10Democrats, Republicans
- 50:12Pundits on TV, fellow politicians, world leaders
- 50:16Every single person laughed at that man
- 50:18That was 2016
- 50:202024 he was supposed to end up in
- 50:22I mean people thought he was going to die in jail
- 50:24And now he's president of the United States again
- 50:26Again, I get it
- 50:28Politics aside if you hate him
- 50:30On the policy side
- 50:32Try and put it aside for 2 seconds
- 50:34The man had a saying
- 50:36And he said it long before he ran in 2016
- 50:38But like now it rings a lot deeper
- 50:40You can never ever, ever give up
- 50:42And like I have seen that man go through hell and back
- 50:46I've seen his family go through hell and back
- 50:48I've seen my own family go through hell and back for him
- 50:50And like anytime I face with any obstacle at all
- 50:52I can remind myself that this guy became president
- 50:54When the whole world was laughing at him
- 50:56And you can do absolutely anything you want to do
- 50:58If you believe in yourself
- 51:00That's powerful I mean it kind of puts
- 51:02Personal problems in perspective
- 51:04When a day's not going right
- 51:06And you realize the guy was shot at
- 51:08Like the most powerful government
- 51:10In the world was trying to put him in jail
- 51:14And even if you believe he deserved to be in jail
- 51:16Which of course I don't
- 51:18But imagine going through that and waking up every day
- 51:20And still fighting and trying to become president
- 51:22Like I mean a fraction of what he goes through would break most people
- 51:26Yeah it broke me quite a bit
- 51:28And I would do nothing compared to him
- 51:30You can answer this question in two ways
- 51:32You can answer it through just life in general
- 51:36Or through your time with Trump
- 51:38What was the darkest moment that you've gone through in your life
- 51:40And how did you pull yourself out of it
- 51:42You mean like Trump world or just in general
- 51:46It's up to you it's open-ended
- 51:48I mean in general obviously in the campaign
- 51:50Like there's been dark moments
- 51:52January 6th was a dark moment
- 51:54Losing the election was a dark moment
- 51:56Your boss getting shot in the head
- 51:58Not knowing if he was a Liberna
- 52:00Is a dark moment
- 52:02The FBI going after my family
- 52:04It's a pretty dark moment
- 52:06It's a pretty dark few years
- 52:08A lot of people ask like why I didn't walk away
- 52:10From the campaign knowing the investigations
- 52:12Would have stopped against my own family
- 52:14For example
- 52:16Was that implied or was that explicitly said
- 52:18Yeah the whole point was
- 52:20To really scare people out of walking away from Donald Trump
- 52:22Because if he lost his core staff
- 52:24Or his staff went bankrupt for example
- 52:26Because he had to pay all his legal fees
- 52:28Then they'd eventually walk away from him
- 52:30And he'd have nothing left
- 52:32That was the goal
- 52:34Again I don't want to get into it too far
- 52:36Because I know people feel about it
- 52:38And if they disagree they're going to stop listening right now
- 52:40If they disagree with Donald Trump
- 52:42And so I don't want that
- 52:44I want people to understand that we're all human beings
- 52:46How you get through something like that
- 52:48Right so I'm going to say there were a lot of dark times on the campaign
- 52:52But I would say apart from the campaign
- 52:54I've had dark times as a human being
- 52:56I mean when I started in politics
- 52:58Was again an accident
- 53:00I was thrust on the world stage
- 53:02Because Donald Trump tweeted about me randomly
- 53:04I didn't expect that I didn't know he was going to do it
- 53:06And when one of the most powerful people in the world
- 53:08No he was president
- 53:10That point the most powerful person in the world
- 53:12Tweets your name out
- 53:14Bad anxiety problem already
- 53:16And the entire world tells you you deserve to be dead
- 53:18Like you know I had developed a stomach ulcer that week
- 53:22Which I still have to suffer through
- 53:24I couldn't get up for three weeks
- 53:26Physically could not get up because I had a bleeding stomach ulcer
- 53:28From the anxiety I caused myself
- 53:30I was terrified to go outside
- 53:32Because you know every message you're getting
- 53:34Is telling you that you deserve this horrible thing to happen
- 53:36Or that horrible thing to happen
- 53:38And again at that point especially
- 53:40I was basically irrelevant
- 53:42The whole world knows who you are and is talking about you
- 53:44Might a lot of family members turn on me
- 53:46Because they believed a lot of what they read in the media
- 53:48Which now they know isn't true
- 53:50But our relationship is fractured forever
- 53:52Again I'm stuck with that stomach ulcer
- 53:54That I have to deal with now
- 53:56Nearly seven years later
- 53:58That I'm still trying to deal with
- 54:00A lot of anxiety
- 54:02I grew up pretty quickly
- 54:04Unfortunately because I have no doubt
- 54:06Yeah I liked being a child
- 54:08But that went out the window
- 54:10You know again it goes back to Donald Trump
- 54:12People always say you have to believe in yourself
- 54:14That's what they tell little kids
- 54:16And I always thought it was a cliche
- 54:18Like why do you believe in yourself?
- 54:20What does that mean?
- 54:22But the fact is truly no one is going to believe in you
- 54:24If you don't believe in yourself
- 54:26And it sounds like such a cliche and everyone says it
- 54:28But if you don't like who you are
- 54:30It doesn't matter if anyone likes you ever
- 54:32Because you won't be able to rest your head at night
- 54:34No one's ever going to believe in you
- 54:36And any success that you get
- 54:38So learning in the hardest moment
- 54:40Where everyone is telling me how horrible I was
- 54:42That it wasn't true
- 54:44And be that I had to convince myself
- 54:46That nothing mattered that people said about me
- 54:48What matters what I thought about myself
- 54:50That was really really really hard
- 54:52But really really important
- 54:54And I don't think it's clicked yet
- 54:56To this day if someone says something
- 54:58I almost want to message them
- 55:00And prove them wrong
- 55:02Because their opinion you know
- 55:04If it's the right topic will hit me
- 55:06Talk me what it means and how powerful it is
- 55:08To believe in yourself
- 55:10And apart from the policy or anything else
- 55:12That is the greatest gift you can give anyone
- 55:14Is encouraging them to like who they are
- 55:16And to believe that they can do whatever
- 55:18Their heart desires
- 55:20Even if everyone around them is trying to stop them
- 55:22I would say that you again operated one of the most
- 55:24Like a high stress environment
- 55:26That most people could ever find themselves in
- 55:28So what part of yourself
- 55:30And this can be a lesson for somebody that
- 55:32Is even going to experience like a fraction of the stress that you've experienced
- 55:34What part of yourself did you have to give up?
- 55:36Like what did you have to give up that wasn't serving you
- 55:38When you put yourself into a job, a career, a business
- 55:42That would stress you out as much as this day
- 55:44I mean, A, I'm going to be curious what I say to you in four years
- 55:48Because I think I'm still growing and learning
- 55:50And trying to become a better functioning person
- 55:52Like my husband will tell you
- 55:54And he bullies me all the time
- 55:56So you know how he feels about me
- 55:58But he will tell you that I still let my anxiety get the best of me
- 56:00And the overthinking and everything else
- 56:02At the same time
- 56:04And I tell everyone this
- 56:06You have to be busy
- 56:08You end up having more time to grow
- 56:10And learn and think and accomplish things when you're busy
- 56:12When you're free, you have free time
- 56:14It's not the same
- 56:16But when you're busy, it helps you
- 56:18Because you can almost see how great you can be
- 56:20When you are forced to be under
- 56:22Like all the pressure in the world
- 56:24So I'd say I have learned to like myself more
- 56:26When I have tried to bite off as much as humanly possible
- 56:28And accomplish all of it
- 56:30Because I have realized that when I actually put the negative thoughts aside
- 56:32I am invincible
- 56:34And I think we all are
- 56:36But when you have too much time
- 56:38You can sit there and come up with all the bad things about yourself that you want
- 56:40Because that's what society encourages us to do
- 56:42That's a whole other conversation
- 56:44But the fact is if you really, really put yourself
- 56:46Out there
- 56:48And you try to accomplish everything that you can
- 56:50Even if you fail
- 56:52You will start to like yourself
- 56:54Because you see how capable you truly are
- 56:56And I think that's been the best part of all of this
- 56:58Sometimes I've actually had to shut off my brain and just keep functioning
- 57:00And just keep doing
- 57:02And then it's like oh holy crap
- 57:04Like I'm actually pretty good at this
- 57:06And I'm actually pretty cool
- 57:08And maybe my negative thoughts were what was holding me back
- 57:10Did you ever have imposter syndrome when you jumped into any of these roles
- 57:12That's the one thing I don't suffer from
- 57:14Really?
- 57:16Maybe I'm like people are describing it to me wrong
- 57:18I had the opposite of imposter syndrome
- 57:20I'm more like why am I
- 57:22You were never nervous when you
- 57:24So candidly I also feel the same way
- 57:26I just feel like I jump into stuff
- 57:28And I'm not too stressed
- 57:30Because I feel like if somebody else can do what I can do it to
- 57:32I mean you told the story
- 57:34About sending that kid up to
- 57:36To his to Trump's office
- 57:38And saying hey, like hire me
- 57:40It doesn't necessarily sound like somebody
- 57:42That has massive amounts of imposter syndrome
- 57:44But I am trying to pull out
- 57:46Like a little bit of a lesson
- 57:48For people so that they can emulate
- 57:50That amount of courage
- 57:52And that doesn't come natural
- 57:54I've always lacked confidence
- 57:56I've never lacked courage
- 57:58Explain, I've never heard that before
- 58:00So we're getting deep, even I don't know where that came from
- 58:02I very often will do my 10,000 TV interview
- 58:06And like having anxiety
- 58:08Knowing for a fact that I'm fine and can do it
- 58:10And I've never messed up in a great way on television
- 58:12And I can still do it but I still get anxiety
- 58:14Because I'm a perfectionist and I lack the confidence
- 58:16To believe that if I, you know, just keep doing this
- 58:18I'm actually, you know, very good at what I do
- 58:20Like I'm always overthinking
- 58:22My parents were very tough Russian parents
- 58:24Growing up and they always taught me someone
- 58:26Out there's working harder than you
- 58:28Keep working hard and never believe that you're good at something
- 58:30So like I always...
- 58:32That's tough advice but I like it
- 58:34Yeah, I mean someone's always better than you
- 58:36And you can always get better
- 58:38So I lack the confidence still to this day
- 58:40And everything I do, even if I've done it a million times
- 58:42Even if you think I'm great at it
- 58:44I am sweating and overthinking
- 58:46Because I have to keep trying to make myself better
- 58:48But I've always said that you have to have the courage to keep doing it
- 58:50And I always wish that I could calm that part down
- 58:52And tell myself you're so good at what you're doing
- 58:54That's why you're here
- 58:56But I've never lacked the courage
- 58:58Because life is so short and I've always wanted to...
- 59:00I've always believed that if it worked out
- 59:02And I got there, I'd figure it out when I got there
- 59:04And if you don't try, no one's going to be the chance anyway
- 59:06And I know too many people
- 59:08By the way that are really, really stupidly confident
- 59:10But don't go for anything
- 59:12And that I don't understand
- 59:14I lack the confidence but I will shoot for the stars
- 59:16And everything I try to do
- 59:18I feel the same way
- 59:20I think that
- 59:22I've always wondered what gives somebody that ability to just take action
- 59:26I don't know, it's such a hack
- 59:28And if you don't feel like
- 59:30If you are listening to this and you don't feel like you have that ability
- 59:34I think that I've thought of this before
- 59:36Parents definitely help
- 59:38Or hurt
- 59:40But I think that also
- 59:42Just keeping track of the times that you've won or succeeded
- 59:46And keeping a record of that really does give you the confidence to go forward and take action against the next thing
- 59:52Also, I was a competitive figure skater
- 59:54I think that's where it comes from
- 59:56That's true too, right?
- 59:58Also, I played a lot of like...
- 1:00:00Yeah, sports helped a lot too
- 1:00:02And that also made me hyper competitive
- 1:00:04But also, doesn't have to be competitive like you and I, like young sports
- 1:00:06You can do sports, you can start at 40 years old
- 1:00:08And you'll still get the same, like a lot of sports
- 1:00:10Figure skating, for example
- 1:00:12You can start right now and have the same experience I did doing a triple jump
- 1:00:14You have to close your eyes, count to three and just do it
- 1:00:17Knowing there's a very good chance that you fall
- 1:00:19And knowing that you have zero confidence because you've never landed the jump before
- 1:00:22Knowing you're probably going to fall
- 1:00:24Because that's how gravity works
- 1:00:26But you have to close your eyes, say one, two, three, and take off
- 1:00:29And if you fall, you have to get up and just do it again
- 1:00:32And that's, that's life
- 1:00:34What keeps you up at, you know, three in the morning
- 1:00:37What keeps you up that people wouldn't know
- 1:00:40I don't know, this doesn't count as imposter syndrome
- 1:00:42You're probably, you can tell me what it's called
- 1:00:44Just feeling like I'm not accomplished
- 1:00:46And no matter what I do
- 1:00:48I think that's a little bit of delusion, but that's besides the point
- 1:00:50That's probably what, that's what my parents say
- 1:00:52But yeah, I mean, it's wanting the world to know that I'm remotely qualified
- 1:00:57And that none of this was luck
- 1:00:59And again, it's also reading the negative messages that say you're here
- 1:01:02Because you're pretty or you're here because you're this or here because of that
- 1:01:04That's unhelpful
- 1:01:05But I think everyone, whether they have those messages in any platform or not
- 1:01:09Very off, I mean, I know a lot of really accomplished people that will tell me I'm nothing
- 1:01:13So it's not just me
- 1:01:15But yeah, it's wanting to make my parents proud and wanting to look back
- 1:01:19And think that I did everything I could possibly do
- 1:01:21And you say that I'm young, but in my brain, it's my modeling agents
- 1:01:24Or my figure skating coach is telling me that 29 is, you know, basically 60
- 1:01:27And my best days are behind me
- 1:01:29And I know none of it is true
- 1:01:31But I'm scared to like get complacent and get too comfortable, get too confident
- 1:01:36And stop reaching for the stars
- 1:01:38And ironically, that's why you'll be successful
- 1:01:40Pro
- 1:01:41I mean, people, people go to different sort of dark places to fuel their ambition
- 1:01:46I do think I go too dark
- 1:01:48Like I don't encourage anyone to be as crazy as I am
- 1:01:51But I do think that the people that are the craziest and that never feel comfortable
- 1:01:55And that want to keep shooting for the stars are the ones that end up succeeding
- 1:01:58You told me that
- 1:01:59Yeah, I know I believe it
- 1:02:00I think we were at dinner
- 1:02:01And you're like, if you just keep going eventually, it's going to work
- 1:02:04That's how that works
- 1:02:05That's a percent, I believe it
- 1:02:06And I think that you have to lean into different reasons as to how
- 1:02:09There's different things that you have to use to be able to keep going
- 1:02:13And I mean, I listened to a Mr. Beast interview on Darva CEO
- 1:02:18And he said like, if I cared about my mental health, I wouldn't be successful
- 1:02:22That's me
- 1:02:23I don't think that's a good lesson
- 1:02:25I don't think that's the lesson
- 1:02:27But I think that there's a less intense version of that
- 1:02:31Where you are outside your comfort zone and you're not living in this nice little bubble
- 1:02:35And that's why you're successful
- 1:02:36Right, I just think it's like a little bit of what you said too
- 1:02:38Making a list and reminding yourself every week of what you accomplished that week
- 1:02:41So that in six months when you're having one of those breakdowns about not being accomplished
- 1:02:45You can look back and say, holy crap, look what I did in six months
- 1:02:47You have to do that, I'm just like
- 1:02:49I should probably start doing that
- 1:02:51Like just fucking right out your resume
- 1:02:52I'm going to start today
- 1:02:53Please
- 1:02:54If you could go back and have a conversation with yourself
- 1:02:58When you first started working with Trump, what would you want to tell yourself?
- 1:03:01It's going to get so cool
- 1:03:03Like, I thought I was going to be a volunteer
- 1:03:06I thought I'd volunteer
- 1:03:08And then, you know, I'd tell people about this cool experience
- 1:03:11And I'd walk away
- 1:03:13And I ended up hanging out with Donald Trump
- 1:03:15Making a guy president multiple times to get into the White House
- 1:03:18Not a bad job
- 1:03:19Yeah, but again, shoot for the stars
- 1:03:21Because none of that should have happened to me
- 1:03:22I should not have been there that day
- 1:03:23I shouldn't have sent a stupid letter
- 1:03:25Shouldn't have asked the volunteer to send it up
- 1:03:27You never know what God has in store
- 1:03:29If you think about sort of the stress and anxiety that you deal with constantly
- 1:03:33Because I know your personality too
- 1:03:35So I'm curious if you've developed any useful coping mechanisms
- 1:03:39If somebody else could use for their own stress or anxiety in their life
- 1:03:43And I know you're laughing
- 1:03:44Because you know that anything I say is a lie
- 1:03:46Because I'm always stressed
- 1:03:47I don't think it's a lie
- 1:03:48I'm not asking you a question like telling you to go lie
- 1:03:51I think that you probably don't 100% of the time deal with it well
- 1:03:54Trust me, I believe that
- 1:03:55You know
- 1:03:56But I think that there's also some things that you've picked up that could be useful for somebody who's dealing with like high stress moments
- 1:04:00It's hard because again, I'm really privileged on the personal life
- 1:04:03Like I really, I know a lot of people that don't have the support system I have
- 1:04:06So it's almost unfair for me to tell people to lean into that
- 1:04:09If you have it, lean into it
- 1:04:11Because there's gonna be days when you're like, holy crap
- 1:04:13But anytime with my dad is the best thing I could possibly have done this week
- 1:04:16Like that just made me feel so much better
- 1:04:18And when I'm 95, of course I'll remember the times with Donald Trump
- 1:04:21But more than that, I'm gonna remember the time with my dad
- 1:04:23So I'd say if you have the personal life that I have
- 1:04:26That I only realize as an adult how privileged I am to have
- 1:04:29Lean into it hard
- 1:04:30That's all that I mean at the end of the day
- 1:04:32To all that matters is you know doing that
- 1:04:34I'd say genuinely what has helped me
- 1:04:36And it's important advice too just in general to make people better people
- 1:04:39Volunteering has helped me so much
- 1:04:43I started when I was 16 because I was in a dark place and so on recommended to me
- 1:04:46To go to a local soup kitchen and just like do something with my time
- 1:04:49Because I was really in a dark place
- 1:04:51And I have not stopped since then and I mean I volunteered in how many states
- 1:04:55And how many soup kitchens and shelters and you know so many organizations
- 1:04:58I have my masters in nonprofit work, I have a nonprofit I just started
- 1:05:01But just volunteering
- 1:05:03Because it's not about knowing that people are doing you know worse than you or whatever it is
- 1:05:07It's about how good it feels to help someone
- 1:05:09Genuinely and that's when you realize that like maybe helping that person or helping 20
- 1:05:14You know 30, 40 people that I helped serving soup or whatever it is
- 1:05:17Was actually a hell of a lot more meaningful than getting that degree or getting that award
- 1:05:20Or whenever it is that is stressing you out
- 1:05:22It has been the best thing that has happened in my life
- 1:05:25The last 10, 15 years
- 1:05:26It's such a good feeling
- 1:05:28I've never had somebody tell me that answer
- 1:05:30And it's so easy you know just look up
- 1:05:32Because you're serving someone else
- 1:05:34And you realize that your problems maybe are not as big as
- 1:05:36And your problems aren't as big and be like you have access to something
- 1:05:39That's actually so much more meaningful than what you thought was the most meaningful thing in your life five minutes ago
- 1:05:43It is a really really amazing thing
- 1:05:45It is what has kept me grounded and sane for the last 15 years
- 1:05:50If people want to connect with you learn more about what you're working on
- 1:05:54All the websites, socials, all of that
- 1:05:57It should just be my name so it's Elizabeth Pipco
- 1:05:59I think Instagram, X, Facebook
- 1:06:03Yeah, just google my name try not to read the stories and you'll find me somewhere
- 1:06:07The last question I like to ask
- 1:06:09And we're going to ask this question again in four years from now
- 1:06:11But out of all the different ideas or lessons that you've learned over your own life
- 1:06:16What is the most important one that you'd want to pass on to your kids and why?
- 1:06:20So I have it on my wall right now
- 1:06:23And I didn't realize how important it was to like weigh you know into the future
- 1:06:26But when I was little I love to do my school work in my dad's office
- 1:06:29I just felt like you know an important person and when he wasn't home
- 1:06:33I'd be in his office doing my school work
- 1:06:35And he had a little card on his desk
- 1:06:37It was a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote
- 1:06:39Because do not go where the path may lead
- 1:06:41Go instead where there's no path and leave a trail
- 1:06:43And I'd like to read it to myself every day as a little kid when I was like
- 1:06:46You know daydreaming and not paying attention to my school work
- 1:06:48And as an adult I remember thinking about the quote and like why it meant so much to me then
- 1:06:52It is so easy to do it
- 1:06:54You know your friend is doing what this one tells you to do
- 1:06:57What's difficult and what's special is doing something different and inspiring someone along the way
- 1:07:01My entire life has been people bullying me for doing the weird thing
- 1:07:04You know don't try to like leave your school and go to the Olympics
- 1:07:07Don't be home school, don't volunteer for political campaign
- 1:07:09Don't support Donald Trump
- 1:07:11God knows what else and part of it has motivated me
- 1:07:13Because when people tell me I do something I do it which is not very smart
- 1:07:16But in general don't go where the path may lead
- 1:07:19It is so much cooler and more special to go somewhere else
- 1:07:23And hopefully make other people feel like they can do the same as well
