Transcript
- Prashanthi Nuthi: Hello friends, yesterday was Holi, the festival of colors. And every time I see colorful faces celebrating Holi, it makes me realize we are not just one color. We carry so many colors and every color is so unique, so distinct, so real. It represents a role of persona that we play in our lives. We play so many roles. We are somebody's mother, father, brother, sister, daughter, leader, friend. It's not about the number of roles we play. It's about how well we transition between these roles and how well we signal it to the room, to the people around us. A funny story during COVID. My work office moved to the home office and my husband was meeting the "work me" for the first time. And he was surprised seeing that side of me. For a moment I was making strategic decisions about hiring and firing. The next moment I was in the kitchen cooking a lovely meal for him. These transitions were very easy and effortless for me, and I assumed the same for the room for the people around me. But I was wrong. They were still stuck with the previous version of me while I had already made the transition. That's the similar situation at office. We're having water cooler conversations, walk into a board meeting, then back to coffee conversation. How well do we signal those transitions to that room, to the people around us? If the people knew which Prasanthi they were interacting with, the interactions would become more meaningful. So here's the microboost for you today. What are the colors you carry at work and at home? How well do you transition across these various colors? And how well do you signal to the people around you about the transition? Do they know which version of you they are interacting with. Remember, small actions, big impact. Until we meet again next time, let's keep making impact together. Thank you.
