De La Cruz Speed Seals Reds Win | Cincinnati Reds News
The Reds edged out the Pirates 3-2 in a nail-biting thriller, with Elly De La Cruz’s blazing double and Nathaniel Lowe’s clutch groundout at first sealing the win in the bottom of the ninth. De La Cruz’s speed and three doubles powered the offense, while Sal Stewart’s RBI single pushed him to 80 RBIs on the season. The Pirates battled back with a fifth-inning run and a sixth-inning homer, but Rhett Lowder’s six innings and Emilio Pagán’s ninth-inning strikeout finish kept them in check — until Lowe’s gritty play gave Cincinnati the walk-off win.
