Transcript
- 0:08Hello, my wonderful listeners and welcome to
- 0:11another episode of the Psychic Explorer. Happy
- 0:14New Year. Can you believe it is 2026 already?
- 0:18I'm not sure I can. It seems like the older I
- 0:21get, the quicker time goes by. I really hope
- 0:25you have enjoyed your festive period. No matter
- 0:27what you have or haven't done, I hope... It has
- 0:31left you feeling full, satisfied, and if anything
- 0:35like me, a couple of kilos heavier. I can't quite
- 0:39believe the amount of food I have gotten through
- 0:41and still need to get through. We were gifted
- 0:45very generous gifts this year, including three
- 0:48separate hampers, plus I came home from New England
- 0:51with a lot of wine, a lot of cheese, and a lot
- 0:55of chutneys and pates, and my word, my other
- 0:59half is... My other half has said, right, we
- 1:02need to get ourselves sorted out for the new
- 1:03year. And I'm like, well, we've got to eat all
- 1:06this stuff first because you can't let it go
- 1:09to waste. So I think I might get a bit fatter
- 1:11or at least put on a couple of more kilos before
- 1:15I even think about getting back into some sort
- 1:19of shape. But still, what a time it has been.
- 1:23And I want to say thank you to all of you lot
- 1:27who are listening and who have listened. It's
- 1:30a small community that we have here. I said this
- 1:31in previous episodes in the weeks gone by. It
- 1:34is a small community, but I really feel like
- 1:36I'm talking to friends and I feel like I am getting
- 1:40more confident with this podcasting and I hope
- 1:43that is coming across to you. I am very conscious
- 1:46that since Halloween and the festive period,
- 1:49my episodes... have grown a little bit off -kilter
- 1:53than what they normally do. I've not spoken as
- 1:55much about my mediumship, my psychic journey,
- 1:58as I usually do. Instead, it's been focused on
- 2:01guests, paranormal investigations, your wonderful
- 2:05stories, which I've really enjoyed, but I am
- 2:08conscious that the point of this podcast is that
- 2:10it's a true reflection on the experiences that
- 2:13I have as I've stepped down this path. and hopefully
- 2:16answer questions that you might have if you are
- 2:19yourself stepping onto this path. So I was a
- 2:21bit unsure as to how to approach this episode
- 2:23because in January, there are actually three
- 2:27release dates. So my episodes, if you're a regular
- 2:29listener, you will know that my episodes go out
- 2:32every other Thursday, every two weeks on a Thursday
- 2:35morning, or if you're in the US, a Wednesday
- 2:37afternoon, stroke evening. And I thought to myself,
- 2:40well, we've had quite a few special episodes
- 2:41already. What do I do for New Year's? Do I do
- 2:44like a meditation, New Year's meditation? Do
- 2:47I do an episode focused on resolutions? Do I
- 2:51do an episode on something that I have experienced
- 2:54recently? Or do I just not put something out
- 2:56at all? And I thought, no, I'm going to do something.
- 2:59So this episode is about looking forward. However,
- 3:02in order to look forward, we need to look back.
- 3:06Resolutions. I'm personally not a fan of New
- 3:10Year's resolutions. I think we are setting ourselves
- 3:12up for failure. Mostly because most resolutions
- 3:16are something which are unrealistic. They are
- 3:20goal -orientated. And New Year's can be about
- 3:23making a change, wiping the slate clean. But
- 3:26we all know that no matter how much we clean
- 3:30that slate, stuff from... the previous year from
- 3:34previous years still comes through. And it's
- 3:37important to address that. And they say 90 %
- 3:39of mediumship is personal work, working through
- 3:42your own traumas, working through your own shadow.
- 3:45And I think that is the same with New Year's.
- 3:48We need to reflect back on what we have come
- 3:51through in order to look forward to the new challenges,
- 3:54to the new excitement, to whatever it might be.
- 3:58This is not a resolutions episode, however. This
- 4:01is not about fixing or improving. This is a pause.
- 4:07It is a reflection. It is a soft landing into
- 4:10the new year. I think the new year is full of
- 4:15pressure. I remember growing up and my mum always
- 4:18used to say it's so anti -climatic, so she just
- 4:21used to go to bed. I always used to go out and
- 4:24I used to try and have such a good time. And
- 4:27it was almost like I had so much expectation
- 4:30that New Year's Eve was going to be magical and
- 4:33fascinating and interesting and so much stuff
- 4:36was going to happen. And then when midnight came,
- 4:40it was like, oh... Is that it? It almost feels
- 4:45like when it's your birthday, when you hit midnight
- 4:48on your birthday and you think, oh, I'm a year
- 4:50older and you feel exactly the same as you did
- 4:5330 seconds before. There's so much pressure for
- 4:57New Year's to be something it is not. People
- 5:02see it differently as well. And I feel that sometimes
- 5:04we can be made to feel a bit guilty about not
- 5:07seeing it the same way as other people. people
- 5:11absolutely love it. They go out and have an amazing
- 5:13time. They set off fireworks, they sing, they
- 5:16dance. For others, it marks another year, another
- 5:21year of grief, another year of emotional heaviness,
- 5:25another year of exhaustion. And so although I'm
- 5:29not going to do a meditation for this episode,
- 5:33I do want you to use this as an opportunity to
- 5:39reset your energy, and just for the moment, slow
- 5:44down. I invite you, my wonderful listeners, if
- 5:49it's safe for you to do so, just close your eyes
- 5:53just for a moment or two, and I invite you to
- 5:57pause, breathe slowly, and settle into yourself.
- 6:14If it feels right to you, you might want to take
- 6:17a pen and paper. There's absolutely no pressure
- 6:20to write anything down. So if nothing comes to
- 6:23mind, then don't worry. Or if you don't want
- 6:25to, that's absolutely fine. Just have a think
- 6:27about these prompts that I'm going to suggest
- 6:32you have a reflection on. But feel free to pause
- 6:36this episode if you need to. These prompts are
- 6:40not about analyzing your life. There are invitations.
- 6:46Take what resonates. Leave the rest. I would
- 6:51like you to reflect without judgement. Think
- 6:56back on 2025. What made you happy? What made
- 7:07you sad? What made you laugh? What made you cry?
- 7:16What moments from 2025 still feel emotionally
- 7:21loud to you? What landed in your lap that you
- 7:27did not expect? Where did you show up even when
- 7:34it was hard? I want you to think about what you
- 7:40learned about yourself. in 2025. What patterns
- 7:47did you start to notice? What are you more aware
- 7:53of now than a year ago? For me, this year has
- 8:00been challenging. I know I said this at the end
- 8:02of last year, but it has been challenging. My
- 8:05family life has shifted quite dramatically. Someone
- 8:09that was in the forefront of my family is no
- 8:13longer with taking a step back from one another.
- 8:16And as painful as that was, as it is, I have
- 8:22had to reflect on my actions, on my words, as
- 8:27well as hold grace for their feelings and accept
- 8:33that as valid as their feelings are, There's
- 8:38also validity in where I feel they are wrong.
- 8:42I used to be very much of the mindset that if
- 8:47somebody had done me wrong, then it was them,
- 8:51it was all them. I didn't have to look at myself.
- 8:54I now know different. I now know better. I now
- 8:57know that we are both to blame for this upset.
- 9:01I don't know if that person has come to the same
- 9:03conclusion. I doubt it. but I also have, again,
- 9:09using that word again, that grace, I have grace
- 9:12that time is a healer. But actually, at the moment,
- 9:16we probably just need time away from each other.
- 9:20With everything that you have thought about just
- 9:23there, with everything you have journaled about,
- 9:27have a think about moving forward. Without goals,
- 9:32these are not goal -orientated and these are
- 9:34not resolutions. but just holding what you have
- 9:38just been thinking about. What do you want to
- 9:41carry forward into the new year? What are you
- 9:44ready to leave behind? And what would it look
- 9:47like to trust yourself a little more this year?
- 9:52However, think about those because if you know
- 9:56your history, you will know that the Roman god
- 10:00Janus, which is where we get the word January,
- 10:05Jane has had two faces, one was looking forward
- 10:08and one was looking back and that very much resonates
- 10:12with me. For me it almost feels counterintuitive
- 10:16to say oh we are on the 1st of January therefore
- 10:20it's a new year therefore it's a new beginning
- 10:22because that's ignoring the past year, stroke
- 10:26years that we have just lived through. It's not
- 10:30humanly possible to be able to just wipe the
- 10:32slate clean. If we don't tackle the things that
- 10:36have troubled us in the past, then they're going
- 10:38to crop up again in the future. Think of the
- 10:42sweeping under the carpet analogy. It might be
- 10:45out of sight for the moment, but you will trip
- 10:47up on it at some point in the future. I'm going
- 10:51to do one more thing in this episode, and that's
- 10:53pull a card. This card is not a prediction. This
- 10:59is a theme. that I'm going to try and take forward
- 11:02for the rest of this year. And I'm using the
- 11:08Inner Child deck of cards. These are large cards.
- 11:12If you haven't got these or if you haven't heard
- 11:14of these, have a little Google. They're lovely
- 11:17cards. They're sort of based on nursery rhyme.
- 11:26I love how these cards just work out. I think
- 11:29every time I pull a card I'm always blown away
- 11:33with the symbolism and the relevance of it. I
- 11:38will post a picture of this card on my Instagram
- 11:40so look out for that at the .psychic .explorer.
- 11:45But this card around the edge of it features
- 11:49many symbols and I interpret these symbols to
- 11:53be one of slowness, one of just slowing down.
- 11:59There's no need to rush. We can take things in
- 12:02our stride with the knowledge that from small
- 12:06acorns to big oak trees grow, and that does not
- 12:10happen overnight. The oak tree is a tree that
- 12:14takes its time, but as it does grow slowly, it
- 12:16grows strong. And I wonder if we were able to
- 12:20ask a fully grown oak tree and as I say this
- 12:23to you I am looking out of my back bedroom window
- 12:26onto a row of huge old English oak trees and
- 12:32I wonder what they have witnessed. If we were
- 12:36to go back when that oak tree was planted or
- 12:40when the oak tree sprouted from its shell of
- 12:43an acorn what the world was like. This card is
- 12:47also lined on the left and right with mushrooms.
- 12:50To me, mushrooms are something to be enjoyed,
- 12:54they are something natural, something to be savoured.
- 12:57But they thrive on decay, they thrive on what
- 13:00was. And again, as I reflect on this, I look
- 13:04back on the situations I have found myself in
- 13:08that have not been pleasant, but that I have
- 13:11grown from, that have taught me lessons to be
- 13:16able to go forward and be a better person. This
- 13:21card features a Christmas tree it features a
- 13:25hearth with an open a fire with stockings and
- 13:28a garland over it and again, I Just the relevance
- 13:32of it for this time of year I can't believe I'm
- 13:34pulling it this card of all the cards in this
- 13:37pack I can't believe I have pulled this card
- 13:39for this time of year for this reading you know,
- 13:44I've had to pause this recording a couple of
- 13:46times because This card really stumped me. I
- 13:49didn't know what it was saying I couldn't read
- 13:52anything into it. It was just this card that
- 13:54featured a Christmas tree, children opening presents,
- 14:00parents preparing a fire and putting it stocking
- 14:02up. And I was like, what is this? I got the outside
- 14:07bit but couldn't get the inside. I was like,
- 14:10what was it trying to say to me? And it just
- 14:12suddenly struck me that Christmas is a time of...
- 14:19giving and receiving. As we go forward into the
- 14:22new year, prepare to accumulate. Prepare to accumulate
- 14:27more wisdom. Prepare to accumulate more things.
- 14:34But also hold that feeling of Christmas in your
- 14:38heart the whole year round. Without sounding
- 14:41too muppet's Christmas carer about this, but
- 14:44go forward into the year with Christmas in your
- 14:48heart. and give and love and be prepared to receive
- 14:54and be prepared to give at various moments throughout
- 14:57the year, whether that be knowledge, whether
- 15:01that be materialistic things, whether that be
- 15:05family or friends or people. At Christmas we
- 15:09are taught to at least... It's in the culture
- 15:14that we should have more grace for people, have
- 15:18more patience for people, be kinder to people,
- 15:21give to charity. And I feel like the more we
- 15:26seem to go on, I don't know if it's just because
- 15:28I'm getting older or not, but the more we seem
- 15:30to go... on the less that is a thing is becoming
- 15:34Christmas is becoming more of a an insular thing
- 15:39we look inwards we look towards our immediate
- 15:42circle we don't necessarily look outwards I think
- 15:46for me that's how I'm going to interpret this
- 15:48card to try and live my life throughout 2026
- 15:52to try and have more grace to try and give more,
- 15:57to be more generous, to try and receive. When
- 16:00people give me a compliment, when people tell
- 16:03me that they enjoy my podcast, when people tell
- 16:05me that my readings are good, to take that and
- 16:09to not try and dismantle it or make excuses for
- 16:14it or try and do those very British things that
- 16:17we do or that I do, because to receive praise
- 16:22is not something... that I and I'm sure many
- 16:27of my fellow country people find easy to do.
- 16:32Try to live comfortably. Try to live in a way
- 16:37that invites others to join you, that compels,
- 16:41that makes other people want to participate in
- 16:45your life, or at least in the way that you live
- 16:47your life. I'm going to leave that one there.
- 16:51Yeah, I struggled a bit with that one. And maybe
- 16:53it's because... I'm still full of cheese and
- 16:56chutney and pate, so my brain is not working
- 17:00as much. It's a bit bogged down by all this amazing
- 17:04Christmas food. So I'm going to leave that one
- 17:09there. Thank you so much for listening to this
- 17:13New Year's Day edition. It's not quite what I
- 17:15had in mind, but I'm hoping that that reading
- 17:19left you feeling soothed. I don't want you to...
- 17:23Try and go searching for answers. If it resonated
- 17:26with you, great. If it doesn't, just see what
- 17:28happens going forward. You don't need clarity
- 17:32today. What I suggest you may need is rest, gentleness,
- 17:38patience and kindness to yourself. If all you
- 17:42take away from this episode today is permission
- 17:45to move slowly, then that is enough. If you are
- 17:49the type of person who has gone out and got razzled
- 17:53and enjoyed the New Year's evening, then I congratulate
- 17:56you. Happy New Year to you. If you are the type
- 18:00of person that raises a glass to the midnight
- 18:04hour and acknowledges it quietly, then I raise
- 18:07a glass to you in return. Or if you are the type
- 18:11of person who would rather go to bed and wake
- 18:14up to a new year, a new beginning, then absolutely.
- 18:20as my mum used to do, go and fill your house
- 18:23with freshly cut flowers on New Year's Day to
- 18:26celebrate the New Year's. Just a note for going
- 18:29forward with the PsychiExplorer. I just want
- 18:33to let you know that we'll be returning back
- 18:36to the old format of solo episodes where I share
- 18:40with you my experiences. I have got something
- 18:45Very exciting, slightly terrifying happening
- 18:48in January. Nicola Gigi, who runs the Norfolk
- 18:52Spiritual Centre, she has invited me to run my
- 18:56very first, I don't like using the word service
- 19:00because it implies religion, which is not me
- 19:03at all, but to hold a mediumship platform event
- 19:06at her centre in Norwich. And that will be happening
- 19:09on Tuesday the 13th of January. So I think that's
- 19:14just in time for my solo episode. So I'm going
- 19:17to try and talk about that for that episode.
- 19:20And then, at the end of January, we have got
- 19:23Robert Lomax speaking about, well, what will
- 19:27Robert be speaking about? He will be speaking
- 19:29about the beings which he channels, the beings
- 19:31which he takes inspiration, takes guidance from,
- 19:36and as much as Robert is interested in spirituality
- 19:38and mediumship, I think it's fair to say his
- 19:42main passion is sharing the information he receives
- 19:47from benevolent beings on other planes of existence.
- 19:51I know it sounds really woo -woo and I was a
- 19:54little bit unsure as to how I was going to approach
- 19:56this one, but it's an interesting one and I do
- 19:58think it's another facet in this whole... world
- 20:02I'm exploring. So we will be going back to the
- 20:05more traditional in future months. But Robert's
- 20:09episode is a really interesting one. So wherever
- 20:12you sit on that spectrum of belief, I encourage
- 20:15you to have a listen to it. It's really interesting.
- 20:18It's interesting. And I recorded that with him
- 20:20face to face. It's my very first face to face
- 20:22recording of an interview with a guest rather
- 20:25than doing it over the internet. So it has a
- 20:27slightly different feel. So I'm looking forward
- 20:29to sharing that with you. In February for the
- 20:31Valentine's episode I also have Kim Charlson.
- 20:34Kim Charlson is a voice channeler she is able
- 20:37to channel her guide and I have a conversation
- 20:40with not only Kim but also her guide Monty. Then
- 20:43in March we have Anne -Marie Pisano and she talks
- 20:46to me about her discovery and exploration of
- 20:49her psychic and mediumship gifts. I've got a
- 20:52few people lined up for interviews for the new
- 20:54year as well. So if you would like to share your
- 20:56experiences, if you would like to talk to me
- 20:59about how you started on this road, your honest
- 21:02experiences, your doubts, your concerns, the
- 21:05joys. let me know reach out to me you can find
- 21:08me at the .psychic .explorer you can find me
- 21:11at instagram threads and facebook so i look forward
- 21:15to hopefully hearing from some of you i'm sending
- 21:18you all my love and again happy new year take
- 21:22care guys bye
