- 0:29Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:33Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan, O'Malley and he
- 0:37Speaker 1: is Trey Trendholm. Trey. What do you have in store
- 0:40Speaker 1: for us today?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Oh?
- 0:42Speaker 3: You know, Daniel, some thought provoking questions regarding relationships and such.
- 0:47Speaker 1: But first, Happy New Year, Happy New Year to you,
- 0:51Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:51Speaker 2: How is your How was your New Year's Eve?
- 0:56Speaker 1: We did not make it to midnight, and I'm okay
- 0:59Speaker 1: with that. I am at the age now where that's
- 1:02Speaker 1: totally fine. And it wasn't even playing for us to
- 1:04Speaker 1: make it to midnight. Our favorite restaurant had had an
- 1:08Speaker 1: opening for two at five thirty in the afternoon, and
- 1:10Speaker 1: we said that sounds good. So we did that and
- 1:15Speaker 1: we were in bed before ten. So it went very
- 1:18Speaker 1: very well. How about you?
- 1:22Speaker 3: I made it to midnight, Brandy barely did it. I
- 1:31Speaker 3: kind of had a nudgeer rope awake. But we had
- 1:35Speaker 3: a lovely you know. We went to uh went to
- 1:37Speaker 3: the Stars game. They did not.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Did not play well, but it was still fun.
- 1:44Speaker 3: And then I made a big batch of chili and
- 1:48Speaker 3: uh we were home. I had probably ten thirty and
- 1:54Speaker 3: uh and thank god because then I saw the videos
- 1:57Speaker 3: of downtown Dallas. I had forgotten that people just park
- 2:02Speaker 3: on the interstates and everything to watch the fireworks, which
- 2:05Speaker 3: in the videos I saw Bravo Dallas that they did
- 2:07Speaker 3: it one hell of a fireworks show.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they've really gone balls out.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Well, and the drones that everyone is using now really
- 2:17Speaker 3: makes it all the more impressive.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I had this thought the other day. So there was
- 2:23Speaker 1: this crazy drone show in Las Vegas, coinciding with the
- 2:30Speaker 1: finale of Stranger Things, and I couldn't help but think,
- 2:35Speaker 1: just imagine if you could go back in time with
- 2:39Speaker 1: just the drone show for Stranger Things and put that
- 2:44Speaker 1: in the skies over a small town in the United
- 2:47Speaker 1: States circa nineteen eighty five, get people's reactions, Oh my god,
- 2:53Speaker 1: especially because one of these scenes in the drone show
- 2:57Speaker 1: is sort of that red void hortal that's opening up
- 3:02Speaker 1: with vekna coming through, and this is all drones and
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm getting chills just thinking about it. But then I'm
- 3:07Speaker 1: just imagining what that would look like over a typical
- 3:10Speaker 1: Midwest town in nineteen eighty five, with no knowledge of
- 3:13Speaker 1: drones or anything. People would lose their goddamn minds.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Oh it would be I mean podium.
- 3:23Speaker 3: You know, I remember when when Reagan you know, had
- 3:26Speaker 3: that hot mic episode, you know, because the presidents used
- 3:29Speaker 3: to do a weekly radio address. Uh and you know
- 3:33Speaker 3: I forgot exactly what he said a basis said, you know,
- 3:35Speaker 3: the Soviets are attacking where it wore something like that,
- 3:38Speaker 3: and you know people flipped out. Uh So yeah, if
- 3:41Speaker 3: you put actual something they could see.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Oh and again.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Hard to imagine for most people that you're going to
- 3:51Speaker 3: a time where there was no internet. You had three
- 3:53Speaker 3: television stations and yeah, people would wig the fuck out.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah. And and in your home, your standard homes, you
- 4:01Speaker 1: were lucky if you got a couple of UHF channels.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Forget cable the other I mean, cable was barely a thing,
- 4:11Speaker 3: especially if you're in rural uh you know, in the country.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Uh, your best option.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Hell, they didn't get cable most places till in the
- 4:21Speaker 3: two thousands. I mean you either had you had one
- 4:24Speaker 3: of the in the eighties, you had one of those
- 4:26Speaker 3: gigantic you know, eight foot satellite dishes that you needed
- 4:31Speaker 3: a doctor doctorate to you know, figure out how to
- 4:35Speaker 3: use because you actually had to know you know, the
- 4:38Speaker 3: different angles and where satellites were and everything else then
- 4:42Speaker 3: you know direct TV came along.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, those are the white monoliths of the country side.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And I think you and I know about that all
- 4:50Speaker 1: too well, because while we mainly grew up in the
- 4:53Speaker 1: Dallas area, we both spent a good chunks. We both
- 4:57Speaker 1: spent good chunks of our childhood in rural air. Is
- 5:00Speaker 1: you Leonard Texas me technically in between two rural towns,
- 5:06Speaker 1: so like I was in between Bartlesville, Oklahoma and no Wada, Oklahoma.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So yeah, if you showed that in the sky over over,
- 5:14Speaker 1: oh god it no, everyone would have freaked out and
- 5:20Speaker 1: it would have been like I said, it would have.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It definitely would have been pandemonium, which is part of
- 5:25Speaker 1: the reason why I wish I could go back in
- 5:26Speaker 1: time with that drone joke and do it, just to
- 5:28Speaker 1: see the havoc that it would cause.
- 5:30Speaker 3: And by the way, I have not you have you
- 5:33Speaker 3: seen the final episode of Stranger Things?
- 5:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, I I have not watched it yet,
- 5:37Speaker 2: so no spoilers.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Really, Tara Trey hasn't seen the finale yet A Stranger Things,
- 5:44Speaker 1: Oh you just got the she just did the face
- 5:48Speaker 1: so well.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Brandy has not watched any of them.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So it's oh, uh.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Like she had like she's never seen an episode of
- 5:58Speaker 3: Stranger Things.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Oh, this is very interesting.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's so.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Are you then going to start over with season one
- 6:09Speaker 1: with with the new girlfriend and watch all of them
- 6:12Speaker 1: culminating into a season five and somehow avoid spoilers in
- 6:16Speaker 1: that time?
- 6:20Speaker 2: I'm going to.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Much like you are with Tara. I am not going
- 6:25Speaker 3: to force her to watch anything. She's always been open.
- 6:29Speaker 3: She's like, I'll give it a shot. So, after watching
- 6:35Speaker 3: the last season up to the final episode, which I
- 6:38Speaker 3: think has been fantastic, I so far one of the
- 6:43Speaker 3: best final seasons of TV. I think I've seen, I'm gonna,
- 6:49Speaker 3: you know, let her. I would like to go back
- 6:51Speaker 3: and actually watch it again because I feel like there's
- 6:54Speaker 3: a lot of stuff I've forgotten from the first two
- 6:57Speaker 3: seasons especially. Yeah, so I'm gonna give it a shot
- 7:00Speaker 3: and see if she's interested.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And if she is, then yeah, we'll watch it.
- 7:03Speaker 3: If not, uh, she's a you know, and it's my
- 7:08Speaker 3: fault I did this that this is.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I can't even I'll save this for another show, make
- 7:20Speaker 2: a note of it.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but the Treehouse The Treehouse Show podcast will have
- 7:24Speaker 1: a meeting you know what from trade.
- 7:26Speaker 3: We'll save this subject for the regular show because it's
- 7:30Speaker 3: it's something I will I did on I just almost
- 7:34Speaker 3: as a joke, and it's now come back to really
- 7:38Speaker 3: be a pain in my ass.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Kind of like the pegging jokes for me in twenty
- 7:43Speaker 1: twenty five.
- 7:47Speaker 3: You know, this one's almost worse. And I guess there's
- 7:50Speaker 3: a tease for the for the regular show.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Oh, I cannot wait. You need to catch that show,
- 7:54Speaker 1: which will drop on Tuesday. Be sure to find and
- 7:58Speaker 1: follow the Treehouse Show podcast everywhere you get your podcasts,
- 8:02Speaker 1: including Spotify, iHeart, and of course Apple podcasts. All right,
- 8:06Speaker 1: let's jump into the meat of this show today. What
- 8:08Speaker 1: do you got Trey?
- 8:09Speaker 3: All right, We're gonna start off with I found a
- 8:12Speaker 3: very interesting question. Would I be the asshole for refusing
- 8:17Speaker 3: to meet my ex fiancee who left me at the
- 8:19Speaker 3: altar even though he's dying and says he needs closure.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Four years ago, I was supposed to get married.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I was in my dress ready to walk down the
- 8:30Speaker 3: aisle when my fiance's best man told me he was gone.
- 8:34Speaker 3: He got in the car and left without a word,
- 8:38Speaker 3: and I never heard from him again.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I was destroyed. I went to.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Therapy for years to deal with trust issues and humiliation.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I'd explained everyone why the wedding didn't happen, Return gifts,
- 8:48Speaker 3: cancel vendors.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I'll blah blah blah.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Finally, FIELD have an amazing boyfriend who helped me to
- 8:54Speaker 3: learn to trust again. I built a new life, and
- 8:56Speaker 3: Jay became a distant, painful memory. I never wanted to visit.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Last week, a mutual friend gave Jay my number without
- 9:04Speaker 3: asking me. He texted me saying he needs to see
- 9:08Speaker 3: me because he has a lot to explain.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I ignored it.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Then he texted again, saying he's been diagnosed with terminal
- 9:14Speaker 3: cancer and he doesn't have much time left. He said
- 9:17Speaker 3: he needs to apologize and get closure before he dies.
- 9:20Speaker 3: He said it would mean everything to him if he
- 9:22Speaker 3: could have one hour. I said no, told him I
- 9:27Speaker 3: spent four years healing from what he did. I didn't
- 9:29Speaker 3: know him anything, So I hope he finds peace, but
- 9:32Speaker 3: I can't.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Be a part of that.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Wished him well and blocked his number. Am I the
- 9:38Speaker 3: asshole refusing to meet with him even though he might
- 9:41Speaker 3: die without getting to apologize.
- 9:43Speaker 1: No, this is an important lesson. We all need to
- 9:47Speaker 1: learn in our lives, no matter short or long they
- 9:51Speaker 1: might be, there are consequences to your actions. I applaud
- 9:58Speaker 1: if genuine. I applaud his ffforts to reconnect, to try
- 10:02Speaker 1: to make good as much as possible on what he
- 10:05Speaker 1: did to her those many years ago. But I'm hoping
- 10:10Speaker 1: that he respects her wishes in that scenario because ball's
- 10:17Speaker 1: totally in her court there. He has to live or
- 10:20Speaker 1: die with whatever she decides. And I think it's totally
- 10:25Speaker 1: fine for what he did to her. I think it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: totally fine for her to protect her piece that she
- 10:29Speaker 1: has worked so hard for. She doesn't owe him anything.
- 10:32Speaker 1: And just because you're dying, that doesn't mean people owe
- 10:35Speaker 1: you something. I'm going to say that again, not just
- 10:40Speaker 1: for the living, but for those who are dead that
- 10:42Speaker 1: are still expecting something in their grave. Just because you're
- 10:46Speaker 1: dying doesn't mean people owe you shit.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I would love to take a counterpoint on this one,
- 10:56Speaker 3: but it's really hard. I mean, you know, there, I listen,
- 11:03Speaker 3: I did some you know, I've I have learned to
- 11:07Speaker 3: make peace with that as a recovering alcoholic, and I
- 11:12Speaker 3: didn't said things that I deeply regret that there you
- 11:14Speaker 3: know you can't take.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Back and then and that's just the way it is. Uh.
- 11:19Speaker 2: And uh, you know I would.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Have you know, I would have loved to have been
- 11:26Speaker 3: able to make amends with Russ. I tried, but you know,
- 11:30Speaker 3: I and I you know, as I said, I wrote
- 11:33Speaker 3: him a letter and I made my amends. And I said, well,
- 11:36Speaker 3: I don't regret the overall context of what I said.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I regret the manner in which I said it.
- 11:44Speaker 2: It was disrespectful. Yeah, and then to.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Be to be fair, that's yeah. And and to be
- 11:51Speaker 1: fair disrespectful is the language he understood best.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 1: So that's that's why, that's why it cut him so deep,
- 12:00Speaker 1: if we're being honest. So you did exactly with your situation.
- 12:06Speaker 1: You did exactly what I would recommend to this dying
- 12:09Speaker 1: man as he's trying to make amends to his ex.
- 12:13Speaker 1: She says, no, then, by God, write a letter, give
- 12:17Speaker 1: it to someone third party that can give it to
- 12:20Speaker 1: her at some point if they choose that way. His
- 12:23Speaker 1: feelings are purged onto paper and she may or may
- 12:28Speaker 1: not ever read those words, but at least he's purged
- 12:31Speaker 1: them from his body in some way, and it may
- 12:33Speaker 1: be the only way he gets to it. The other
- 12:35Speaker 1: option is sit down in front of a microphone and
- 12:37Speaker 1: record I'm dying podcasts and see if she eventually listens
- 12:40Speaker 1: to it.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I mean, and it's a it's an excellent lesson of Also,
- 12:50Speaker 3: you think about your actions because there are some things
- 12:54Speaker 3: you cannot take back and try to avoid doing those things.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's especially difficult when you're young. You don't
- 13:01Speaker 1: think about consequences on a large scale. So like when
- 13:08Speaker 1: you're young, you're aware of consequences. You're aware that certain
- 13:11Speaker 1: things you do have you know, it's like the for
- 13:14Speaker 1: every action equal and opposite reaction, right, everything you do
- 13:17Speaker 1: will have some type of consequence. Could be good, could
- 13:19Speaker 1: be bad, don't know. But usually when we're young, when
- 13:23Speaker 1: we consider consequences, it's in a very short timeline. But
- 13:27Speaker 1: the older we get, we start thinking in longer timelines
- 13:32Speaker 1: and bigger pictures when it comes to consequences. So when
- 13:36Speaker 1: you're fifteen, you think, if I cheat on this test,
- 13:39Speaker 1: it would be bad because this might happen tomorrow. Whereas
- 13:44Speaker 1: we being middle aged men, we think back on cheating
- 13:50Speaker 1: on a test when we're fifteen could have implications reaching
- 13:54Speaker 1: far beyond the next day. It may not be if
- 13:57Speaker 1: you get caught detention, and that's bad. It could be
- 14:00Speaker 1: a permanent negative mark on your record that keeps you
- 14:05Speaker 1: from getting into the college you wanted. Yeah, I mean,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and that can completely change, you know, trajectory of your
- 14:12Speaker 1: life type of stuff. That's kind of what I'm getting at.
- 14:15Speaker 1: So when you're young, you make a dumb decision, you're
- 14:16Speaker 1: only thinking about in the moment or the very brief future.
- 14:20Speaker 1: The older you get, you start thinking bigger term and
- 14:22Speaker 1: you start thinking, you know what, maybe I shouldn't cut
- 14:25Speaker 1: this corner here because it could have a major effect
- 14:28Speaker 1: far down the line.
- 14:31Speaker 2: That is very true.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I mean, when you're young, you don't think about at
- 14:35Speaker 3: least I didn't really think about the future.
- 14:37Speaker 2: You don't think. Hell, you barely think the next day,
- 14:41Speaker 2: you know what.
- 14:42Speaker 1: You're right, Yeah, the consequence thing when you're a kid,
- 14:44Speaker 1: if you even think about it at all, it's very short.
- 14:48Speaker 1: But you're right, I think, for the most part, and
- 14:50Speaker 1: I did the same thing. I didn't think about, you know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: the total consequences. I was like, man, I'm living in
- 14:55Speaker 1: the moment and I didn't even know what that was
- 14:58Speaker 1: back then.
- 15:01Speaker 3: All right, Well, that leads me to this next question,
- 15:03Speaker 3: and it's kind of uh spin off but thought provoking.
- 15:10Speaker 3: What's a bitter life lesson you learned from your longest
- 15:14Speaker 3: or from a failed relationship? All right, say it again,
- 15:20Speaker 3: what's a bitter life lesson learned from? Like you're from
- 15:26Speaker 3: a significant relationship that failed?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Oh man, how much time do we have? I feel
- 15:36Speaker 1: like I just got thrown into the middle of a
- 15:38Speaker 1: World War two landmine. Accountability, I think.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I think.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I think accountability in any relationship, whether it's you know, romantic, platonic,
- 15:52Speaker 1: business life, whatever, accountability I think is is something that
- 15:58Speaker 1: some people take too much of and then others don't
- 16:02Speaker 1: take enough of. So I think accountability is a big
- 16:05Speaker 1: part of it. So like in failures of the past,
- 16:11Speaker 1: I definitely take my fair share of accountability on those things.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And the good thing about that is is you try
- 16:17Speaker 1: to learn from it, and then there's the people that
- 16:21Speaker 1: don't and they just go along thinking like ah, you suck.
- 16:24Speaker 1: It's like, well, okay, what about you?
- 16:28Speaker 3: I think the the biggest lesson I think I learned
- 16:33Speaker 3: is just because you love somebody does not mean you
- 16:37Speaker 3: are compatible and you can make it work. Like That's
- 16:42Speaker 3: I think, And I think that's definitely something that.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Comes with maturing.
- 16:51Speaker 3: And I say that because I'm sure there are a
- 16:54Speaker 3: lot of people who learned that early on. One of
- 16:57Speaker 3: the things about alcoholism is, you know, they say you
- 16:59Speaker 3: quit mature when you start drinking, And I look back
- 17:02Speaker 3: at my life, and you know, there are a lot
- 17:04Speaker 3: of ways when I quit drinking at forty two, I
- 17:06Speaker 3: acted like I was eighteen. But you know that is Yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 3: you can love someone to death, but that does not
- 17:16Speaker 3: mean that you can make it in a relationship, because yeah,
- 17:21Speaker 3: you can still be really toxic for each other.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's very true. Uh, And I think I think
- 17:28Speaker 1: that's a big part of it as well. I think
- 17:29Speaker 1: I think I think the first step is just being
- 17:33Speaker 1: able to actually analyze those situations to that degree. That's
- 17:38Speaker 1: a huge step forward, because that's kind of like I
- 17:40Speaker 1: was saying with with mine accountability or the lack thereof.
- 17:44Speaker 1: There are some people that will just chalk it up to, oh,
- 17:47Speaker 1: he's a turd, and they won't stop to ever you know,
- 17:50Speaker 1: look in the mirror. Yeah, and there's nothing you can
- 17:53Speaker 1: do about that. And if they're not going to do it,
- 17:56Speaker 1: you can't force them.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Well, I look back, it's something my grandfather said, and
- 18:03Speaker 2: he wasn't. Yeah, it's not like he.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Was the first person to ever say this, but it was.
- 18:09Speaker 3: It was such profound advice, and especially now that you
- 18:11Speaker 3: know a healthy, happy relationship. But you know, he said,
- 18:20Speaker 3: if it's if it's hard in the beginning, is that's
- 18:23Speaker 3: the honeymoon phase. If if it's difficult, then it just
- 18:27Speaker 3: gets worse. Yeah, and you know that that was.
- 18:33Speaker 2: True.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Yeah, along those lines. A good metaphor for that, what
- 18:41Speaker 1: your grandfather said is is like a roller coaster, right,
- 18:45Speaker 1: and more specifically the big fun roller coasters of the
- 18:48Speaker 1: modern era.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:50Speaker 1: They start out super high. You're on the very top,
- 18:55Speaker 1: and things are good. It's beautiful up there, and you
- 19:00Speaker 1: know the track below is gonna have twists and turns
- 19:03Speaker 1: and ups and downs. But if you look at that
- 19:06Speaker 1: roller coaster, it's it's very rare that those roller coasters
- 19:09Speaker 1: ever go higher than that starting point.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Mhmm.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It's all downhill from there. It has a few you know,
- 19:17Speaker 1: ticks up here, some loops here, and a twist and
- 19:19Speaker 1: a turn and some zero G stuff where you think
- 19:21Speaker 1: your body's about to leave the planet, but then it
- 19:25Speaker 1: comes crashing back down. And so when you look at it.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Look at it like the skyline or the profile of
- 19:31Speaker 1: a roller coaster. You can always tell the beginning of
- 19:33Speaker 1: it because it's not highest spot. That's a relationship.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Sometimes you get stuck at the top of the
- 19:39Speaker 3: loop and you're just hanging on for dear.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Life and hoping the fire department shows up to rescue you,
- 19:46Speaker 1: typically upside down.
- 19:49Speaker 3: And finally the little bring a little levity to this,
- 19:54Speaker 3: I had. This is when I have never I've heard
- 19:58Speaker 3: some weird things, but I had never heard.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Of this one. Oh good.
- 20:02Speaker 3: My husband designates a left and right sock like I
- 20:08Speaker 3: don't understand this. After watching his socks, he spends an
- 20:11Speaker 3: hour separating the left and right foot socks and then
- 20:15Speaker 3: matches them together. If one is missing, he gets upset,
- 20:19Speaker 3: say he ends up with two left feet. I say
- 20:23Speaker 3: this is weird and no one does this, and that
- 20:25Speaker 3: he should just buy new socks and wear them like
- 20:28Speaker 3: a normal person. He looks at me like I'm crazy.
- 20:32Speaker 3: He swears this has to be done because socks naturally
- 20:34Speaker 3: wear the shape of your foot, so if you mix
- 20:37Speaker 3: them up, you end up with an extra space in
- 20:40Speaker 3: that sock. Does anyone else do this?
- 20:44Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I
- 20:50Speaker 1: relate to this man on some level. No, and hang on,
- 20:56Speaker 1: despite this seeming like a very surface level question, there's
- 21:01Speaker 1: a lot to unpack here. First of all, I kind
- 21:07Speaker 1: of do this. I do not separate left sock, right
- 21:12Speaker 1: sock when it comes out of the laundry. I'll just
- 21:16Speaker 1: I'll match the socks. If it's the same one they
- 21:18Speaker 1: go together, next one same, they match, go together. I'm
- 21:21Speaker 1: not doing left right, but when I pull the socks
- 21:27Speaker 1: out to then wear them, I will look at the
- 21:31Speaker 1: contour of the sock to see if one is the
- 21:35Speaker 1: left and one is the right from usage, and if
- 21:39Speaker 1: I can, I will put them on accordingly. I Am
- 21:42Speaker 1: not going to spend an hour matching up left right,
- 21:45Speaker 1: left right as it comes out of the laundry. So
- 21:48Speaker 1: I'm like fifty percent of this guy.
- 21:52Speaker 2: How much analysis do do you do?
- 21:55Speaker 3: I mean, does it have to be obvious or do
- 21:58Speaker 3: we really lay them out on my bed and really
- 22:01Speaker 3: look at the contour of the sock.
- 22:03Speaker 1: So this happened just two days ago, so I'll tell
- 22:05Speaker 1: you exactly what happened. Pulled the socks out. They're in
- 22:09Speaker 1: the bunch right, Then I pulled them out of the bunch.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Then I put them on my thigh and like, okay.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Then I look at the left one first and see
- 22:16Speaker 1: is this the left or the right? Can I tell?
- 22:19Speaker 1: I couldn't tell, So I was like, okay, I'll put
- 22:21Speaker 1: that one down, let me grab the other one. I
- 22:23Speaker 1: grabbed the other one, and I was like, that's clearly
- 22:25Speaker 1: the right one. So I go back to the left
- 22:29Speaker 1: and I'm looking at it shape and I was like,
- 22:31Speaker 1: you know, this one could go either way whatever. I know,
- 22:34Speaker 1: the right one is the right one. This one's just
- 22:36Speaker 1: gonna go on the left, and it is what it is.
- 22:38Speaker 1: That's where it stopped for me. And it took all
- 22:40Speaker 1: of twenty seconds. That's as far as I'll go with that.
- 22:46Speaker 1: So again, I kind of understand where this guy is
- 22:49Speaker 1: coming from. I'm not to that extreme, but I get it.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Now.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I'd like to point this out because I said, there's
- 22:57Speaker 1: a lot under the surface here that you're just taking
- 23:00Speaker 1: it as a Oh, this is a silly sock.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Man.
- 23:04Speaker 1: If this is the biggest complaint this woman has about
- 23:06Speaker 1: her man, she needs to consider herself lucky.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I have at time believing this would be the biggest
- 23:14Speaker 3: complaint if he's this, if he's this problematic of socks.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Well, this is my thing. If this is not the
- 23:23Speaker 1: biggest problem, then why is she posting about it online?
- 23:26Speaker 1: Post about the serious stuff? Right If she's posting about
- 23:30Speaker 1: it online? To me, this is the most serious or
- 23:32Speaker 1: weirdest thing that she feels like she has to put
- 23:34Speaker 1: up with. And it's not that bad. It could it
- 23:37Speaker 1: be a little weird, sure, but you know what, let
- 23:40Speaker 1: the man be weird about his socks or I tell
- 23:43Speaker 1: you what, do this anytime someone does something that you
- 23:47Speaker 1: don't understand why they do it, and you just start
- 23:49Speaker 1: making wild assumptions or talking about him to your friend
- 23:52Speaker 1: group or your parents, and you know, making fun of them,
- 23:56Speaker 1: teasing them, basically ask him why. Maybe he's got a
- 24:00Speaker 1: reason for it in his mind. It makes sense.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Tara wrote this, didn't she?
- 24:07Speaker 1: She may have. I don't know. Is it signed textcal six?
- 24:19Speaker 2: She's an angel.
