- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus, powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Now here's your host. That's a Chobie.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to another edition of Hawk Talk the Seahawks welcoming
- 0:14Speaker 1: in the Indianapolis Colts to Loomenfield and bump A lot
- 0:18Speaker 1: of news this week. Yeah, football going down and not
- 0:22Speaker 1: the news you thought when the week started. You know,
- 0:24Speaker 1: we obviously know about Daniel Jones.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He went down. We're gona talk a lot about that.
- 0:27Speaker 2: And you know they have the backup.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Riley Leonard went to Notre Dame, took him the national championship.
- 0:31Speaker 1: He gets a little dinged up, and they bring in
- 0:33Speaker 1: a guy's playing a lot of fun. Philip Rivers. Philip
- 0:38Speaker 1: forty four eighties, Baby, stand up. We're still doing this
- 0:40Speaker 1: in the league right now, still doing it, still doing it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I was surprised, man, and I see the notes that
- 0:45Speaker 1: you have down here back in two thousand and four
- 0:48Speaker 1: when Rivers broke into the league.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Your boy has some braids. Bro Come on now, now,
- 0:52Speaker 3: I'm forty myself. I will be forty on Saturday when
- 0:54Speaker 3: this airs, I'll probably be forty. And yeah, he's still
- 0:57Speaker 3: in the game, which is amazing to because at my age,
- 1:00Speaker 3: I cannot imagine suiting up for a football game, even
- 1:02Speaker 3: if I was in great shape. The hits from these
- 1:05Speaker 3: twenty three, twenty four, twenty five, twenty six year rows, No,
- 1:08Speaker 3: thank you, sir, But he plays quarterbacks. It is a
- 1:10Speaker 3: bit different for him. But I'm thirty four. I couldn't
- 1:12Speaker 3: do that right now. What are we talking about?
- 1:14Speaker 1: And he obviously he's played a game with the Torney
- 1:15Speaker 1: Eco Philip Rivers, arguably a Hall of Famer.
- 1:18Speaker 2: We don't know that.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I don't know if he'd be a first ballot, but
- 1:20Speaker 1: he's probably gonna get in the fact that he's back
- 1:22Speaker 1: and obviously everything we're here and looks like he's gonna
- 1:24Speaker 1: start and play. So this should be a really fun matchup.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Let's jump right into it. What's on tap?
- 1:29Speaker 2: What's on tap?
- 1:31Speaker 1: These Colts eight and five second place in AFC South,
- 1:34Speaker 1: start off gangbusters beat wins over the Dolphins, Broncos, Titans, Raiders, Cardinals, Chargers, Titans.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Then they kind of came back to us a little bit,
- 1:43Speaker 1: losses to the Steelers, Chiefs, Texans. Jaguars are on a
- 1:47Speaker 1: three game losing streak. After start seven to one. They're struggling.
- 1:50Speaker 1: We just kind of talked about it. A lot of
- 1:51Speaker 1: quarterback play changing going on. They have a lot of
- 1:54Speaker 1: good pieces, but they are not playing well, so it'll
- 1:57Speaker 1: be interesting. Bump and what do you see for them
- 1:59Speaker 1: against the Jaguars last weekend?
- 2:00Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm out of the five losses the Colts
- 2:02Speaker 3: have this season, this was the only one that was
- 2:04Speaker 3: not competitive. The Jags were leading fourteen to seven towards
- 2:07Speaker 3: the end of the first quarter when Daniel Jones went
- 2:09Speaker 3: down with that Achati's injury.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Big up to day on Jones.
- 2:12Speaker 3: You never want to see that from anybody, and Jacks
- 2:14Speaker 3: dominated from that moment. For the ad Riley Leonard, who
- 2:17Speaker 3: you mentioned was in the game. He was eighteen or
- 2:18Speaker 3: twenty nine one five, no touchdowns, one interception. He did
- 2:22Speaker 3: have a garbage time touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Then he got Jonathan Taylor.
- 2:26Speaker 3: He was definitely slowed down by the league's number one
- 2:28Speaker 3: ranked run to defense.
- 2:29Speaker 2: He held.
- 2:31Speaker 3: He was out to seventy four yards on twenty one
- 2:32Speaker 3: carries and that's three point five per clip, one touchdown
- 2:35Speaker 3: and he did film once.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Then you have Alex Pearce alec Piers. Excuse me, I'll
- 2:39Speaker 2: get your name right.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Let the Colts are receiving with eighty yards on five receptions,
- 2:43Speaker 3: and Trevor Lawrence was seventeen and thirty two forty four
- 2:45Speaker 3: two touchdowns and eight ten seventy four carries out seventy
- 2:48Speaker 3: four yards on twenty carries.
- 2:50Speaker 2: But he did have two touchdowns.
- 2:53Speaker 1: When you look at this Colts team, bump. I look
- 2:55Speaker 1: at their schedule Seahawks, Niners, Jags, Texans sposal.
- 3:00Speaker 2: They won another game. Yea.
- 3:01Speaker 1: That being said, I mean they were seven to one
- 3:04Speaker 1: for a reason. I never me and you have talked
- 3:05Speaker 1: about the Colts all season long. It was hard to
- 3:07Speaker 1: buy into what they were doing. But now looking back,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I mean, they beat the Broncos. That was a good win.
- 3:11Speaker 1: That's looking pretty good on the schedule from the teams
- 3:13Speaker 1: they beat. Anything can happen. That's why you play the games.
- 3:15Speaker 1: We'll take a look into his head to head, and
- 3:17Speaker 1: his head to head is gonna be tilted a little bit,
- 3:18Speaker 1: especially when you look at the offensive numbers. But because
- 3:22Speaker 1: all this is based off of, you know, a healthy
- 3:25Speaker 1: Daniel Jones.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So when you look at the head to head, I'll
- 3:27Speaker 2: start with the Seahawks.
- 3:27Speaker 1: The Seahawks are ninth in offense three averaging three hundred
- 3:31Speaker 1: and fifty three yards per game, eighteenth in rushing offense,
- 3:33Speaker 1: and one hundred and seventeen yards per game pass offense.
- 3:36Speaker 1: They are ninth in the NFL and points per game.
- 3:38Speaker 1: They are number two in the NFL, averaging twenty twenty
- 3:41Speaker 1: nine point eight. When looking at the Colts, they are
- 3:44Speaker 1: sixth in total offense average three hundred and sixty eight yards,
- 3:46Speaker 1: sixth in rush offense one hundred and thirty yards a game,
- 3:49Speaker 1: eighth in passing two thirty seven, and tied for fifth
- 3:52Speaker 1: in points per game. They're just underneath the Seahawks at
- 3:54Speaker 1: twenty eight point nine. So you look at those offensive numbers,
- 3:56Speaker 1: those are great, yeah, obviously, but they're based off of
- 3:58Speaker 1: a healthy quarterback situation. So it'll be interesting to see
- 4:00Speaker 1: how Uncle Phil can come in there and figure this
- 4:03Speaker 1: thing out.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, so I saw those numbers before I watched the film.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I go, all right, man, but that's the overall average. Right,
- 4:09Speaker 3: So in they're three losses, Okay, they're averaging eighteen point
- 4:12Speaker 3: three points per game rather than twenty eight one hundred
- 4:16Speaker 3: and nine one hundred and ninety yards when it comes
- 4:18Speaker 3: to passing rather than to thirty seven and eighty three
- 4:20Speaker 3: yards in the ground rather than one hundred and thirty.
- 4:22Speaker 3: So there's a clearly something's going wrong with this team, right,
- 4:25Speaker 3: You lose your quarterback, Your running back's not playing this
- 4:27Speaker 3: great football as well. The line is struggling a little bit,
- 4:29Speaker 3: but it is what it is, all right. So then
- 4:31Speaker 3: three losses when it comes to defense though, right, scoring
- 4:34Speaker 3: they're giving up eighteen point three al right when it
- 4:36Speaker 3: comes to passing, one hundred ninety and one hundred nineteen.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Those are all during their losses. So there's a clear
- 4:41Speaker 3: regression going on there all right. Overall there are twenty
- 4:45Speaker 3: third against the rush, there are six against the passer,
- 4:46Speaker 3: twenty ninth, and scoring there are thirteen. They put some
- 4:49Speaker 3: good stuff on film. They got some good players over there.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Obviously you're dealing with your quarterback situation. You don't sleep
- 4:54Speaker 3: on anybody, but they do look different in these losses.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah, the National Football League is what have you done
- 4:59Speaker 2: for me? Lightly?
- 5:00Speaker 1: And lately they have not been good. So we'll see
- 5:02Speaker 1: what Philip Rivers can do to kind of change the
- 5:04Speaker 1: tide or whatnot. But yeah, no, it'll be very interesting.
- 5:07Speaker 1: That's why they play the games, and that's what's gonna
- 5:08Speaker 1: happen on Sunday. These teams, being in different conferences, don't
- 5:11Speaker 1: play all the time. But let's know the history. No
- 5:14Speaker 1: your history. Colts Lee the old time series seven to six,
- 5:18Speaker 1: with all matchups taking place in the regular season. Last
- 5:21Speaker 1: game was the first game of the twenty twenty one
- 5:23Speaker 1: season Bump first regular season in front of fans. I
- 5:25Speaker 1: was right after the pandemic, and it was the debut
- 5:28Speaker 1: of a new offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron. Very different time
- 5:31Speaker 1: for this organization, which is crazy. They think it doesn't
- 5:33Speaker 1: feel like it was that long ago, But if you
- 5:35Speaker 1: remember Bump, we really thought big things were gonna happen
- 5:38Speaker 1: that year. The tight ends were getting involved. This new
- 5:41Speaker 1: coordinator from the Rams had just come up and started
- 5:43Speaker 1: with the Seahawks.
- 5:44Speaker 2: It was a great day.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Carson Wentz was also making his debut for the Colts
- 5:47Speaker 1: that day as well, but Russell Wilson had a great
- 5:48Speaker 1: day one hundred and fifty three point eight pass rating
- 5:51Speaker 1: in the first half. It was one of the best
- 5:52Speaker 1: pass ratings he's ever had in his career. Finished with
- 5:55Speaker 1: eighteen for twenty three two hundred fifty four yards in
- 5:58Speaker 1: a sixty nine yard touchdow on a Tyler Lockett Chris Carson, Man.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I missed, Chris Carson. Here's a hard nose runner.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Ninety one yards on sixteen carries, Locket for for one
- 6:07Speaker 1: hundred two tuddies. He came back at four sception six
- 6:10Speaker 1: yards in touchdown Caandre Diggs, who signed back with the
- 6:13Speaker 1: Seahawks a little bit.
- 6:14Speaker 2: He's going dinged up on the practice squad.
- 6:15Speaker 1: He's only member on the current team that played in
- 6:18Speaker 1: that game, and he's on the practice squad. So it's very,
- 6:21Speaker 1: very very different change in that while four years that's
- 6:24Speaker 1: what the league is, man, and just that amount of
- 6:26Speaker 1: time and completely need coaching staff, new roster, and knew
- 6:30Speaker 1: all that stuff.
- 6:30Speaker 3: So yeah, you know what stands out to me, it's
- 6:33Speaker 3: Jack dieska is running that fly suite and getting him
- 6:35Speaker 3: the sideline, and that knocked him out for weeks.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I believe it.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Honestly, nothing was ever right again for his career. And
- 6:42Speaker 1: whatever you know we thought was gonna happen in Seattle,
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's like a nice little nine ten yard game or like,
- 6:46Speaker 1: oh that's where that's what we're gonna see all season.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And then it gets hit. Yeah, twenty twenty one is it?
- 6:51Speaker 1: I don't really that's enough of twenty twenty. It's not
- 6:54Speaker 1: a fun year for us in this building. But let's
- 6:56Speaker 1: football attentionion that what's going on in the division. What's
- 6:58Speaker 1: the word?
- 7:03Speaker 2: And the Seahawks or the NFC West champs again, what's
- 7:07Speaker 2: the word in the West? On Hawk talk? All right?
- 7:11Speaker 3: You got the Rams and the Seahawks all nighted up
- 7:14Speaker 3: ten to three.
- 7:14Speaker 2: The Rams hold the tiebreaker.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Obviously, the Niners are nine to four and the Cardinals
- 7:18Speaker 3: are three and ten. Like I said, the Rams are
- 7:21Speaker 3: all tight of at the top, man, and with the
- 7:23Speaker 3: Rams holding they had the head tiebreaker, you just got
- 7:25Speaker 3: to take care of business and then win that win
- 7:27Speaker 3: that head up. Once you get there. I think you
- 7:29Speaker 3: have the forty nine ers who all right in the mix.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Just one game back and this stretch run should be fun.
- 7:34Speaker 3: With these schedules looking like, man, you got.
- 7:36Speaker 1: The Rams, they have the Lions, huge game for them
- 7:38Speaker 1: this week, Seahawks, Falcons, Cardinals. Looking at that schedule, they're
- 7:42Speaker 1: probably gonna win the last two games, but the next
- 7:44Speaker 1: two on their schedule are incredibly tough for the Seahawks.
- 7:47Speaker 1: The Colts the Seahawks should be favored in that game.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Obviously got the Rams huge showdown with that's about Panthers
- 7:53Speaker 1: a lot better than we initially thought. When the schedule
- 7:55Speaker 1: came out and the Niners they're one game back. They
- 7:58Speaker 1: don't die, so like the Seahawks also have a tough schedule.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Then you look the forty nine ers. They got the Titans, Colts, Bears,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and Seahawks for them. The Titans aren't bad.
- 8:06Speaker 2: They're bad. That's not a good team.
- 8:07Speaker 1: But Colts will see what if Phil Rivers is able
- 8:10Speaker 1: to go out again a paying the Seahawks, he'll be
- 8:14Speaker 1: you know, he'll maybe he'll be in the rhythm, who knows.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Then they got the Bears who've been playing good football
- 8:17Speaker 1: in the Seahawks. So like a lot's gonna happen over
- 8:20Speaker 1: the next couple weeks. But I'm excited to see how
- 8:21Speaker 1: this finishes. Hopefully with the Seahawks at at fourteen and
- 8:24Speaker 1: three one seed, I'm just I'm just throwing out. I'm hoping,
- 8:28Speaker 1: you know, speaking to Fruition, those guys are focused on
- 8:30Speaker 1: the Colts, I can talk.
- 8:31Speaker 2: About what I want to happen. Let's okay, let's do it.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Allright, let's talk about these Rams and the Cardinals, right
- 8:35Speaker 3: the three and ten Cardinals are down bad right now.
- 8:38Speaker 3: They lost five straight and ten of their last eleven games.
- 8:42Speaker 3: No more Colin Murray, and they got lots of injuries.
- 8:44Speaker 3: But man, they have They came out competing. They marched
- 8:47Speaker 3: right down the field of Michael Wilson caught a nineteen
- 8:49Speaker 3: yard touchdown as the Cardinals likek A seven O laite.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I was watching that drive as we were watching, as
- 8:54Speaker 3: we were most joining our post game, and Michael Wilson
- 8:57Speaker 3: was getting hype. He had me believing, I'm like, okay,
- 9:00Speaker 3: let's go. Carnson's get it. But the Rams would score
- 9:02Speaker 3: in the next two possessions. It would lead ten to
- 9:04Speaker 3: seven at the end of one, but from that point
- 9:07Speaker 3: on it was all Rams.
- 9:08Speaker 2: When in the final score was forty five to seventeen.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Stafford was twenty two or thirty one, two thirty eight,
- 9:13Speaker 3: three touchdowns, zero interceptions.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Got back to his old ways, poking A.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Coll had a monster day with one sixty seven or
- 9:18Speaker 3: seven receptions and two touchdowns, one of which he most
- 9:22Speaker 3: adb in the corner of the end zone. That was
- 9:25Speaker 3: That's one of the reasons why I didn't want to
- 9:26Speaker 3: play dB. I probably should have played dB, but moments
- 9:29Speaker 3: like that, No, sir. Blake corm had one hundred and
- 9:33Speaker 3: twenty eight rushing yards on his twelve carries and two touchdowns.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And that's what's scary about the Rams is that they
- 9:39Speaker 3: got that other running back going to Blake corm Right.
- 9:41Speaker 3: You got Kyrie over there as well, but Blake got
- 9:43Speaker 3: things going. Jacoby Versetting on his day, the starting quarterback
- 9:45Speaker 3: for the Cardinals twenty five or forty four, two seventy one,
- 9:48Speaker 3: two touchdowns in one interception. The bright spot for the
- 9:51Speaker 3: Cardinals was talking about was Michael Wilson eleven receptions.
- 9:53Speaker 2: For one forty two and two of them things. Yeah,
- 9:57Speaker 2: a bad deal for the Cardinals. Yeah, they are.
- 9:59Speaker 1: They are, Like you said, they are down bad. They
- 10:01Speaker 1: got the Texans coming up this next week. But the
- 10:03Speaker 1: Rams the Lions. That's a huge game the Lions needed.
- 10:06Speaker 1: They're scratching and clon trying to get back in the
- 10:07Speaker 1: division as well as a wild card. So that's gonna
- 10:09Speaker 1: be huge game obviously this week. So we'll be paying
- 10:11Speaker 1: close attention to that ball game. But let's fill our
- 10:14Speaker 1: attention back to the Colts and let's figure out this
- 10:16Speaker 1: QB situation.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Man up, Hey, who you got? Who you got? You
- 10:20Speaker 2: know what time it is? Man up? Man up, brother,
- 10:22Speaker 2: Man up, man up. On Hawk Talk.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna try to condense this a little bit, bump
- 10:27Speaker 1: because it's a little complicated.
- 10:28Speaker 2: There's a lot's happened over there in Indianapolis. Glad you're
- 10:31Speaker 2: doing it.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, they're still they're still reeling from when
- 10:33Speaker 1: Andrew Luck retired. I mean, it's been a long time ago,
- 10:35Speaker 1: but we're still hearing about that. But honestly, coming into
- 10:38Speaker 1: this season, no one who started quarterback was gonna be Okay,
- 10:40Speaker 1: what you knew was gonna be a battle between Anthony
- 10:42Speaker 1: Richardson Daniel Jones. Richardson being the fourth overall pick out
- 10:45Speaker 1: of Florida, starting just one year in Florida, his career
- 10:49Speaker 1: has been up and down, rocky. He's had times where
- 10:51Speaker 1: he's played great. He's had times where he played poor,
- 10:53Speaker 1: he said, times where he's taking himself out of games,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and he's had some moments of success over his career.
- 10:58Speaker 1: He's a fifty percent passer, twenty four hundred yards, eleven touchdowns,
- 11:01Speaker 1: thirteen interceptions. Then you have Daniel Jones who came in obviously,
- 11:04Speaker 1: you know what happened with him. He had a really
- 11:05Speaker 1: good year in twenty twenty two with the Giants up
- 11:08Speaker 1: and down over there.
- 11:09Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:09Speaker 1: The next year after that good year, we went to
- 11:11Speaker 1: the divisional playoffs. You know, the Seahawks whooped him down
- 11:13Speaker 1: there in New York. He struggled, he ended up getting hurt.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Next season, doesn't play well. They bench him for Tommy DeVito,
- 11:20Speaker 1: and you know that whole thing. So he leaves, he
- 11:23Speaker 1: gets his release, He goes to Minnesota on the practice squad,
- 11:26Speaker 1: is in their building for a little bit, and now
- 11:27Speaker 1: he's just looking to restart his career, right, So he
- 11:30Speaker 1: goes to Indianapolis. Now they have a tough battle all
- 11:33Speaker 1: throughout camp, and then after that, Daniel Jones wins the
- 11:36Speaker 1: job off of Marit. He played well and he was
- 11:38Speaker 1: making the most opportunity this season. He was two sixty
- 11:40Speaker 1: one three eighty four, sixty eight percent passer, three one
- 11:43Speaker 1: hundred one yards, nineteen touchdowns, eight in deceptions. He was
- 11:46Speaker 1: playing some of the best football he has ever played.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And before that he had had a broken fibula or
- 11:51Speaker 1: he had a you know, on one.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Of his legs, so he's battling through that.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Then he tears his achilles, and I'll just say shout
- 11:57Speaker 1: out to him because he's a g soldier. I mean,
- 12:00Speaker 1: I look, obviously you hold Kobe Bryant in hi regard.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Obviously he walks off the court with then achilles. Daniel
- 12:05Speaker 1: Jones is now I'm gonna walk off the field. So
- 12:07Speaker 1: I appreciate him for that. That's a big up to that.
- 12:10Speaker 1: And everyone see him, well get hurt. Then you throwing
- 12:11Speaker 1: Riley Leonard. He was at Notre Dame, played really well
- 12:14Speaker 1: there on Sunday. He wasn't terrible. I don't think you
- 12:17Speaker 1: Eighteen to thirty one, one forty five, zero touchdowns. This
- 12:19Speaker 1: wasn't Max Brosmer out there, right, you know some of
- 12:22Speaker 1: the bad performers we've seen this year. But he had
- 12:24Speaker 1: won an interception, he had a touchdown called back anyway,
- 12:28Speaker 1: so they're unsure about him. He has a little kne injury.
- 12:30Speaker 1: There's what are we gonna do with him? Then you
- 12:32Speaker 1: have Brett Rippin. Shout out Brett Rippan on the QB
- 12:34Speaker 1: on the roster. Washington stand Out gatoray SA Player of
- 12:37Speaker 1: the Year over at Shadele Park when you boys State
- 12:38Speaker 1: broke a toen records. Kind of a journeyman though in
- 12:40Speaker 1: the NFL, so those who they had on their roster
- 12:42Speaker 1: coming into this week. Then your boy Philip Rivers are here, is.
- 12:45Speaker 2: At his couch. You know what I'm saying. He's watching TV.
- 12:48Speaker 2: See somebody get hurt. He goes. I wonder if they're man,
- 12:50Speaker 2: what are they gonna do? Boom?
- 12:51Speaker 1: His phone rings is h Eric Cody doesn't recognize, Hey,
- 12:54Speaker 1: do you want to come play for us again? So
- 12:56Speaker 1: they're giving another shot. He has not played in five
- 12:58Speaker 1: years since they lost their wild card game against Buffalo
- 13:00Speaker 1: in that COVID season, which is crazy. Also crazy, he's
- 13:03Speaker 1: wearing his seventeen. I know he's always wanted to wear seventeen,
- 13:06Speaker 1: but Daniel Jones official he's wearing seventeen. That's the report
- 13:09Speaker 1: I saw for Chester. He's wearing seventeen. Wow, because well
- 13:12Speaker 1: Jones is on IR. I get it, no conflict, I
- 13:15Speaker 1: get it. I know I know it's I also get it.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I get it in Danny Dimes's defense, like what the heck?
- 13:21Speaker 1: But I also get it in Philip Rivers defense, like
- 13:23Speaker 1: I'm a future Hall of Famer dog.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I've worn seventeen since I was nigh school. Yeah, this
- 13:26Speaker 2: is what I do.
- 13:27Speaker 1: And you've been here for what tank? Anyway, say what
- 13:30Speaker 1: you want about that. Philip Rivers is going to play,
- 13:32Speaker 1: and for me, bump, he's probably a future All Famer,
- 13:35Speaker 1: like we mentioned earlier, who knows what he has left
- 13:37Speaker 1: in the tank? I will tell you this, he wouldn't
- 13:38Speaker 1: be coming up there to hold a clipboard. Now.
- 13:40Speaker 2: He wants to play. They wanted to play.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Him and Shane Ssichin were together for a long time,
- 13:44Speaker 1: almost ten years wherever it was in down with the Chargers.
- 13:47Speaker 1: So we'll see, I mean, your guests as best as
- 13:50Speaker 1: mine will see. The Seahawks can be prepared. But whoever
- 13:53Speaker 1: starting the quarterback, good luck because this defense sixth overall,
- 13:56Speaker 1: eleventh gets a pass fourth with forty one sacks, second
- 13:59Speaker 1: in the NFL and scoring defense. So I'm I'm really
- 14:02Speaker 1: interested what's gonna happen to quarterback? Because it's one thing
- 14:05Speaker 1: to be off the couch, but when you get hit
- 14:06Speaker 1: by Leonard Williams, Yeah, Sharon Reed, Yeah, Ernest Jones, Drake Thomas,
- 14:11Speaker 1: Julian Love, Kobe Bryant, Devin Witherspoon.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Okay, look, it would have.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Been hard for him to get off the couch and
- 14:17Speaker 3: play against the Bengals defense. Correct, Now you're playing against
- 14:20Speaker 3: one of the best in the game. Good luck to
- 14:22Speaker 3: you and godspeed. Okay, now we're gonna focus on our guys,
- 14:27Speaker 3: Sam Donald against these called Sam Donald.
- 14:29Speaker 2: He's a great week. He bounced back, bounce back. We
- 14:32Speaker 2: just played good.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Right, twenty of thirty for two forty nine, three touchdowns,
- 14:35Speaker 3: one interception, the QB rating of a one hundred and
- 14:37Speaker 3: eleven point seven.
- 14:39Speaker 2: He was good against man blitzes right.
- 14:41Speaker 3: He completed six out of eight for seventy five yards,
- 14:43Speaker 3: three touchdowns at one interception, according to Next Gen Stats Now,
- 14:46Speaker 3: Sam also made history, joining Tom Brady as the only
- 14:49Speaker 3: quarterback to win ten plus games and consecutive seasons with
- 14:51Speaker 3: two different teams. He knows how to win, so despite
- 14:55Speaker 3: not playing his best game, statistically, Donald is among the
- 14:58Speaker 3: league's best. He's number six when it comes to passing
- 15:00Speaker 3: yards he is number one when it comes to pass
- 15:06Speaker 3: number one in the NFL, and yards per past attempt.
- 15:08Speaker 3: He's number one in the NFL when it comes to
- 15:10Speaker 3: yards per completion number five and pass awating number eight
- 15:12Speaker 3: and QBR and number six in completing percentage completing sixty
- 15:16Speaker 3: eight point one percent.
- 15:18Speaker 2: They've done a good job protecting him.
- 15:19Speaker 3: He's only been sacked seventeen times as big up to
- 15:21Speaker 3: the old line because of Sam forgetting the football out
- 15:24Speaker 3: of his hands.
- 15:24Speaker 2: As tied for first in the league.
- 15:25Speaker 3: The Colts, like we mentioned, their defense is twenty third overall,
- 15:28Speaker 3: the twenty ninth it gets the pass and they are
- 15:30Speaker 3: ninth when it comes to sacks with thirty five. So
- 15:32Speaker 3: they can get after the quarterbright, they can get off
- 15:34Speaker 3: the quarterback.
- 15:35Speaker 1: No, it'll be I'm excited to see this because I
- 15:37Speaker 1: really want to see this the Seahawks offense. I'm not
- 15:40Speaker 1: looking past the Colts because they st to show up
- 15:42Speaker 1: and win. Yep, they show up to play. Well, we've
- 15:44Speaker 1: seen bad football teams, so get out there and compete.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I just wanted to see this offense bills some momentum
- 15:49Speaker 1: leading into that ram team because we know what that
- 15:51Speaker 1: front can do there. And then this is the guy
- 15:52Speaker 1: bump here it is this is the dude that saw
- 15:55Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor. He's best running back in the NFL. Statistically.
- 15:58Speaker 1: The Seahawks have had a nice little stretcher John Robinson.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Now Jonathan Taylor those are the best to do it
- 16:02Speaker 1: outside this building. He's in a sixth NFL season rush
- 16:05Speaker 1: for one thousand yards and four of them really the
- 16:07Speaker 1: only two years he hasn't been hampered by injury. Led
- 16:10Speaker 1: the NFL in rushing eighteen hundred yards all pro season
- 16:13Speaker 1: twenty one. Last season, he still had fourteen hundred yards
- 16:16Speaker 1: eleven touchdowns in just fourteen games. He's first in rushing yards,
- 16:20Speaker 1: first in rushing touchdowns with sixteen, first in the longest
- 16:23Speaker 1: yard a longest carry this year eighty three yards yards
- 16:25Speaker 1: per game one oh four. That's first overall touchdowns, first,
- 16:28Speaker 1: scrimmage yard second. This dude is a dog. We know
- 16:31Speaker 1: what he can do. He's fourth most point scored this season.
- 16:33Speaker 1: He's the only person in the top ten that is
- 16:35Speaker 1: not a kicker for the Seahawks. This is what it is, man.
- 16:39Speaker 1: You stop him, you win this football game.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yep.
- 16:41Speaker 1: If he finds a way to break the Seahawks streak
- 16:43Speaker 1: of twenty two straight games without allowing one hundred yard rusher,
- 16:46Speaker 1: that's what he might get nervous in this ball game.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Jonathan Taylor, he's a dog.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Last three games he struggled a little bit, but you
- 16:52Speaker 3: know the potential is always there for him to have
- 16:55Speaker 3: a big game. Let's talk about the past catchers for
- 16:57Speaker 3: the coach. He's got Pierce, Warren and Pittman Junior. The
- 17:00Speaker 3: production amongst pass catches for the calls has been spread
- 17:03Speaker 3: out pretty evinly, starting with the leading receiver, Alec Pierce.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Pierson is forced NFL season after being a second round
- 17:09Speaker 3: pick in Cincinnati's coming off the best season for his career.
- 17:12Speaker 3: He had a eight hundred and forty two yards and
- 17:13Speaker 3: thirty seven receptions. He led the NFL with twenty two
- 17:16Speaker 3: point three yards per reception. He also has seven touchdowns.
- 17:21Speaker 3: He is an all around type of receiver right. He's
- 17:23Speaker 3: not extremely fast, but fast enough. He's decent in the
- 17:26Speaker 3: block game, then catch it underneath stuff. He's just a
- 17:29Speaker 3: solid receiver. I like what he brings at the table.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean two years in a row. If you're
- 17:32Speaker 1: leading the NFL and yards per reception, you're doing something right.
- 17:35Speaker 1: And to your point, it just means you have to
- 17:37Speaker 1: be a good receiver. If you're not running a four
- 17:39Speaker 1: to one forty, you're not just running guy people.
- 17:40Speaker 2: So he's great.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Tyler Warren is another guy you look at do everything
- 17:44Speaker 1: from Penn State. He was the best tight ending the
- 17:46Speaker 1: draft good as advertised, fourteenth overall out of Penn State.
- 17:49Speaker 1: He did a ton of stuff there. He had over
- 17:51Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty three receptions, eighteen hundred yards, nineteen touchdowns.
- 17:54Speaker 2: He was a dog.
- 17:55Speaker 1: He knew he's gonna be a good player in this league.
- 17:57Speaker 1: And he's kept that up so far of the season.
- 17:59Speaker 1: He's got sixty receipts, six hundred and niney nine yards,
- 18:02Speaker 1: four touchdowns, fifth most receptions among tight ends CNFL and
- 18:05Speaker 1: third most among the most yards amongst tight ends the NFL.
- 18:08Speaker 2: So he's doing this thing. Let's talk about Michael Pittman.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Six years in a game.
- 18:12Speaker 3: He has two one thousand yard season and he has
- 18:14Speaker 3: played for a lot of quarterbacks.
- 18:15Speaker 2: All Right, we're gonna add Philip Rivers to this store.
- 18:17Speaker 3: On Now, you got Carson Wentz, you got Matt Ryan,
- 18:19Speaker 3: you got Gardner Minshew, you got Anthony Richardson, you got
- 18:21Speaker 3: Daniel Jones, just to name a few. Last season, he
- 18:25Speaker 3: had eight eight yards and sixty nine receptions and three touchdowns.
- 18:28Speaker 3: I mean, he had sixty nine receptions and three touchdowns.
- 18:32Speaker 2: When you're a receiver and you can still produce and.
- 18:34Speaker 3: You've caught footballs from eight, nine to ten quarterbacks, your
- 18:39Speaker 3: solid they trust you. It reminds me of like of
- 18:41Speaker 3: McLaurin kind of situation. Right, he's got like fourteen qbs
- 18:44Speaker 3: over there, But that said something about you. That means
- 18:46Speaker 3: that whichever quarterback they bring in, they trust you automatically
- 18:49Speaker 3: because your work ethic and you know what the heck
- 18:51Speaker 3: you're doing.
- 18:51Speaker 1: No, he's an absolute pro and they got they got players.
- 18:53Speaker 1: They were leading all those categories offensively for a reason.
- 18:57Speaker 1: So we'll see there, and I'll be remiss. I totally
- 18:59Speaker 1: forgot to mention this earlier. One of the reasons Anthony
- 19:02Speaker 1: Richard isn't playing is because he had the most horrific
- 19:04Speaker 1: crazy eye injury with a band that got snapped back
- 19:08Speaker 1: in his face and broken orbital bone, which is just
- 19:10Speaker 1: like you want to talk about bad luck, My goodness, yaike.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Hopefully he gets well soon.
- 19:15Speaker 1: We'll foot it back over to our receivers, the best
- 19:17Speaker 1: in the game, Jackson Smith and Jigba Rashisha Hea Cooper
- 19:19Speaker 1: Cup taking on this secondary. When you look at Jackson Smith,
- 19:24Speaker 1: a jig but man, I mean again, we talked about
- 19:26Speaker 1: him for days and days and days. Last week seven receptions,
- 19:29Speaker 1: nine t yard, two touchdowns gains Atlanta. He passed DK
- 19:32Speaker 1: Metcalf for the most yards in three seasons. He passed
- 19:34Speaker 1: Bobby Ingram Jimmy Graham for the most receiving touchdowns in
- 19:38Speaker 1: top ten. I mean he's doing all this different thing.
- 19:40Speaker 1: He leads the NFL eighty nine receptions, fourteen hundred and
- 19:43Speaker 1: twenty yards, nine touchdowns, six player in NFL history with
- 19:46Speaker 1: at least eighty five receptions fourteen hundred yards nine touchdowns.
- 19:49Speaker 1: He's doing his thing. He is unbelievable through these first
- 19:52Speaker 1: thirteen games, and their secondary is d dinged up. Bump,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I think Jayson could have a big day.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I think he can even if they were healthy. True,
- 20:01Speaker 2: you have a big right that shouldn't even matter you're.
- 20:04Speaker 3: But there they are beat up a little bit. And
- 20:06Speaker 3: Cooper Cub himself, he's having a solid season. Man, He's
- 20:09Speaker 3: a second leame receiver on this team. Thirty six catches
- 20:12Speaker 3: for eighty three and two touchdowns last week had two
- 20:14Speaker 3: for thirty five in one touchdown. And then Rashid Shahid.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I think we're moving in the right direction with my
- 20:19Speaker 3: man here. Last week had four receptions for sixty seventy.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Elso had one hundred yard kickoff for turn that's the
- 20:23Speaker 3: third of his career. The Coults are thirty nine thinks
- 20:26Speaker 3: the pass are seeing me? Twenty nine thinks the pass
- 20:29Speaker 3: They lost Sauce Gardner this year ward as well, is
- 20:32Speaker 3: in the concussion protocol. You got to take advantage of
- 20:35Speaker 3: the situation you got over here.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I think they see Austin Duke damage in
- 20:39Speaker 1: the pass game for sure. And then last thing we'll
- 20:41Speaker 1: talk about the Colts. They've they've got decent people up front.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Lot two.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Latso is the guy to look at out of UCLA.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Bub I'm sure you've seen and called some of his games.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Thirty five tackles, five and a half sacks, seven TfL's,
- 20:51Speaker 1: four passes defended, three ae t's, so beyond him just
- 20:54Speaker 1: getting after the passer, he's versatile. The fact that you've
- 20:56Speaker 1: checked that many different parts of the box score of
- 20:59Speaker 1: what he's been able to do that. So he's a
- 21:00Speaker 1: good player to Forrest Buckner been around og forty two
- 21:03Speaker 1: tackles for sacks, nine TFLs, and quitty pay He was
- 21:07Speaker 1: the first round pick as well. All these guys were
- 21:08Speaker 1: thirty four tackles for sacks for TFLs. So they have
- 21:11Speaker 1: players that can get after the quarterback. We'll see how
- 21:13Speaker 1: the Seahawks defend them there.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Man going back to a lot too started at you
- 21:18Speaker 3: and was told you can never play football again, and
- 21:20Speaker 3: he never played football again, goes like two or three
- 21:23Speaker 3: different doctors, goes to UCLA and then as the first
- 21:26Speaker 3: defensive player draft.
- 21:27Speaker 2: And what two drafts ago or whatnot, like the eleventh
- 21:30Speaker 2: pick or something. His journey has been crazy to get here.
- 21:33Speaker 3: And uh, yeah, you watch all these guys, but I
- 21:35Speaker 3: just thought I should point out a lot two stories.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Pretty cool.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Yeah, No, he's an ass to a player. One of
- 21:39Speaker 1: my buddies is a big UCLA fan and lat two
- 21:41Speaker 1: is a dog. Everything you can talk about there. But
- 21:44Speaker 1: we'll see how these Seahawks are going to get a victory.
- 21:46Speaker 2: At the victory.
- 21:49Speaker 1: After forty five waits for the staff, Michael Dixon puts
- 21:52Speaker 1: it down.
- 21:53Speaker 2: That kick is away. If that kick is good, good
- 21:57Speaker 2: day on twin bitch gun. It's a path to on
- 22:00Speaker 2: Hawk talk. I'm gonna keep rep beating this bump because
- 22:03Speaker 2: I love this quote. Yep.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Coach McDonald's said this season and the players have earned
- 22:07Speaker 1: the right to expect to win from the work they
- 22:09Speaker 1: put in.
- 22:10Speaker 2: And when you watch.
- 22:11Speaker 1: This football team, we've earned the right to expect them
- 22:14Speaker 1: to win because of how they have played, and the
- 22:17Speaker 1: Colts this season exceed expectations. We know that this is
- 22:20Speaker 1: another game that she should win. Top to bottom. This
- 22:23Speaker 1: team has a better roster. I think this game is
- 22:25Speaker 1: gonna get started up front. You get after whoever's line
- 22:27Speaker 1: up a quarterback. Looks like it's gonna be the forty
- 22:29Speaker 1: four year old wonder Philip Rivers. Get after him. Make
- 22:32Speaker 1: his life hell, because that's where it's gonna start. Get
- 22:34Speaker 1: this crowd up early and often, and make his life
- 22:36Speaker 1: out for sure. Now, the Colts have the best rbat
- 22:39Speaker 1: in the game.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Last week you went up against maybe the second or
- 22:42Speaker 3: third best r being the game, John Robinson. So you
- 22:45Speaker 3: got to you gotta rally to the football and just
- 22:48Speaker 3: attack them, attack them and keep that one hundred yard
- 22:50Speaker 3: or rusher streak intact. It would be what twenty three
- 22:52Speaker 3: weeks in a row if even get this done here
- 22:54Speaker 3: and contain Tyler Warren. He's one of the best tight
- 22:57Speaker 3: ends in the game, one of the best overall tight
- 22:58Speaker 3: ends in the game. And when I watch him on
- 23:01Speaker 3: him he plays with this this hunger that that you
- 23:05Speaker 3: see throughout the NFL, but it's just different with him,
- 23:07Speaker 3: especially with Titans.
- 23:08Speaker 2: A good move the way that he moves. So you
- 23:10Speaker 2: got to contain that guy. Man.
- 23:11Speaker 3: The last two game, the Hawks have started pretty slow.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Now let's get out to a good start, get that
- 23:15Speaker 3: rhythm going. I know the defense can hold it down.
- 23:17Speaker 3: I got you, But at some point the offense has
- 23:19Speaker 3: to come out once again and lead that charge.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yeah, no, at some point. And it's good, really good
- 23:23Speaker 1: football teams that will bite you in the bet. So hopefully
- 23:25Speaker 1: the Seahustin get on top and then get Jason early
- 23:28Speaker 1: involved early and often they're missing their top two corners.
- 23:30Speaker 2: This could be a big day for Jason. I would
- 23:32Speaker 2: love to get head him.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Back into Calvin Johnson conversation. That's just me selfishly there,
- 23:36Speaker 1: love it. And then Keeper taking tehim darnold, you're you're
- 23:39Speaker 1: the best in the league type for first only on
- 23:41Speaker 1: seventeen sacks, So really excited to see you about that
- 23:43Speaker 1: and take care of business, Bump, take care of business
- 23:46Speaker 1: and set up the matchup. Come on, okay, you gotta
- 23:49Speaker 1: take every business on Sunday. Otherwise the other stuff is irrelevant,
- 23:51Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens on Sunday. He's Michael Bumpus
- 23:54Speaker 1: on NASA Show. But we're gonna break down everything that
- 23:56Speaker 1: happened in this game on Monday, getting you ready for
- 23:58Speaker 1: a quick turnaround for the Rams and what could be
- 24:02Speaker 1: the NFC title game early. We'll see what happens there,
- 24:05Speaker 1: but we will get back with you guys next week.
- 24:07Speaker 1: This has been OK talk.
