- 0:16[SPEAKER_04]: Bubba, current, ham, boys, what's happening?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: What up?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_04]: What's up?
- 0:20[SPEAKER_04]: Look at this backdrop I have tonight.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: very professional.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: It is very.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you what, boys.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this new late night show stuff.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: This may be the way to go now.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm, uh, I feel my current two point over here.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like a night out now.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: What does that mean?
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're up like creeping on Instagram.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: If I ever wake up to take a piss, then all the night, check Instagram to talk in the morning Eastern.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: Hern's green lights on.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's on, baby.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's surfing, looking.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's surfing, looking for super practice.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_04]: And if you guys keep this up, you might have to find a new house, because it's pushing the old man's bedtime here.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: You guys like my sweatshirt, guys?
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: What is?
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_04]: It'd be nice.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the Gary.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: I love one of those.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't you?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Above any kind of swell.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'm going to get my own created next week.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, maybe you should have showed up at the national on Wednesday and you would have got some swag.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: I have the show up early.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: I got it.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is the best.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_04]: We have a very special guest today and we're going to dive into that just a second, but we're going to kick off this episode as we do every episode with kind of our round table, what's going on in our weeks?
- 1:21[SPEAKER_04]: Fubba, you're in my slot one, so why don't you settle up and go first?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so finally back home.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: So as you all know, I've been gone for it feels like six to eight weeks in a row.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Real realistically, I think in a month of July, I was home for about all the four days.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: So it's nice to actually be in my own bed for the last seven to ten days or so, but we are back on that grind kids are back in school.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: All of my boys are playing football right now.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: And so we had our first kind of scrimmage this last weekend.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: We have our first games this Saturday.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: So life on the kid front is full seam ahead.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: And travel baseball is already in Georgia.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: It never dies.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: They, the letters are out saying this is starting hitting leagues are starting pitching leagues are starting.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: So right about the time football is about mid swing.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be doing two sports.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: because fall tournaments start here in Georgia in September.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: No rest on the use sports side for me on a card side relatively quiet and eBay.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's not because of you, okay?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Newsflash.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: I've just been a little busy since I got back.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: So you didn't get me back.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a little bit because of them.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a little bit.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a little bit, but, you know, I've actually been buying some stuff.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: I currently not got some cool stuff coming down the hatch.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: We also have made a pretty big sale today that maybe we'll announce what's its official next episode.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of same old stuff.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: It was good today to kind of see that Tyson Lewis sell that just happened a minute ago.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Even though that was a card, I think probably all three of us would have had some sort of interest then.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's good for the hobby to see that we're, you know, mid August and you're still seeing sales like that.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so I was kind of worried because I felt like we'd been a little soft.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: Probably the last week, we can have post national like there's a little bit of a national hangover.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but kind of cool to see that things are kind of going again.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the comps the last couple days have been strong of the weekend into today.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty much been it for me.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, personal front.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: We're a little bit behind you guys.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like we, I'm still down by the beach here for the summer through Labor Day because kids school doesn't start till after Labor Day that Wednesday after Labor Day.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: So you still have like a full month ahead here.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: So it's crazy to you guys are like back in this.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, swing a school and all that stuff.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm out here and join myself.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to try to get back into the office once a week for the next three weeks, way smiling for Bella.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's when we get the happy current back.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: We get the agitated current in the absence.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm unlike going star crazy here, I'm working from home.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking out the garbage in the middle of work.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: What is this from a card from a card front as Gary mentioned what we had a pretty big sale that I have a super fractor that will probably announce next week.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: That Tyson Lewis sale for those of you that aren't keeping up with his market.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: It was a right of raw true red that just finished.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: over ten thousand dollars, which is absolutely insane for his market.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, I was betting on it too by the card, but I was about four thousand dollars to shy, but I do own the super-fractor, so I'm a happy, happy man here.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Other than that, we got a couple of other things working that hopefully we can announce on next week's show.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: What's up with you Matt?
- 4:38[SPEAKER_04]: Well boys, we are kind of in the final stretch of summer vacation here.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_04]: We're in Western North Carolina, the Mountain North Carolina at a place called Lake James with the family.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_04]: Just wrapping up a long weekend with my parents, my brother, his family.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_04]: And tomorrow I am actually going under for an eye surgery procedure.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: So just kind of settling in, you know, to that and I've got that ahead of me this week.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_04]: So a little bit on my mind right now, I just want me to get through this, kind of get back home, get into a routine.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_04]: But we had a great time at the Lake House this weekend with the family, the kids running around, kayak, and paddle boarder, rid of jet skis one day.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_04]: The house we're staying in.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_04]: has a golf simulator here in the house like a thirty thousand dollar golf simulator and I promise you I've swung a golf club more in the past two days than I've swung in the past two years and the reason why is because my brothers have big golf or he loves to golf and I have golf ADD I'm good for like a shot or like nine holes but
- 5:44[SPEAKER_04]: The in-between, the waiting, the patient's game, is not my strong suit.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_04]: So we were able to dial up on this golf simulator.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_04]: The island green at TPC's sawgrass, and my brother and I each took probably two hundred and fifty shots, and that green trying to get a hole in one.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_04]: And today, my brother finally got a hole in one.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_04]: On TPC's sawgrass, number seventeen, I'm a golf simulator, so we were like, yes!
- 6:10[SPEAKER_04]: We have victory.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_04]: So a lot of a lot of personal family stuff going on this week man kind of gearing up for the surgery tomorrow as far as the card front.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we had a huge national came back from the national hit reset and Little Matt of course can not go a couple of days without buying anything.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_04]: So he picked up a couple of Steph Curry caboons and went completely out of character and bought a blue Victor Winden Yamma PS-A-Ten and
- 6:39[SPEAKER_04]: We'll see how that goes.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_04]: It's not in my wheelhouse, and I just said, hey man, you're smart kid, I trust you.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: You do what you got to do.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_04]: No booming for us as of late.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: We did, we did help Gary pick up a nice card, and we're able to grab a card with that.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: It was a JJ weatherhole, true gold, but that's about it.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: So listeners, when Ham comes on next week, he's not giving you this stinky eye when he has the new glass eye.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: Don't mention it.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a soft subject for a while.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get through this.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, boys.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm having cataract surgery in my right eye.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_04]: As if I didn't already play the old man card on this show, I'm now having cataract surgery.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_04]: So at forty three having cataract surgery is not in my cards, but I'll tell you this, I'm glad to be able to see out of my right eye moving forwards.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, we'll move on, man, and get through it.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_04]: But boys jumping into today's show, we have a special guest, and I'm gonna go ahead and get him out from the green room and bring him on live with us.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_04]: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome alongside us to the sports card CEO.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_04]: They want an only ret louder of the Cincinnati Reds.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_04]: What's happened, buddy?
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go to all guys.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for having me.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_04]: Man, it is fantastic to have you on.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_04]: So current going and kick us off and let's dive in here with Mr. Wouter.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Brett, appreciate you joining us, man.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, guys.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: First and foremost, how you feeling?
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: feeling good, man.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm feeling good.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a long year, but I think we're getting on the right side of things and getting back to where we need to be.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not sure.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I want to hear about you as a collector first.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Are you are you like a hardcore collector or are you buying your own stuff?
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: What are you doing?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm kind of getting into it a little bit more than I thought I would originally.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of started like
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I bought my first K-Support like the jumbo draft like of my draft and just pulled in sad on it for a while and then you know just as you sign more cards you know like all that card's interesting I like that one I kind of want to look out for that one I kind of want to look out for that one but it wasn't really until like football season this year like the Super Bowl the end of it I was like all they do this for football too and I kind of just blew up and and football is like the real thing that got me into it but now
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm kind of all over the place with it.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'll sell cards.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually sitting beside my label printer.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'll print them off and have some bubble mailers dropping off with the clubies every day and selling to your selling on eBay.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm mainly selling eBay.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: And now just I'll sell it here and there.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: But there's a lot of nice card shops out in Arizona that are pretty helpful for athletes.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: So you can go in there and just hang out and trade and just rip stuff.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: So it's fun.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: They're nice for it.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's a good spot for athletes that are given to it.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: How many cards of your own first moment?
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: Would you say you actually own?
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: See, I had a lot.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: I probably have one point.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: I had like thirty or forty, but then I had to like when people will family ask me for cards.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just like, yeah, just take one of these.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_02]: So my collection from my first moments, doing to pretty bad.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't more so this top's chrome that just came out.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: I got more of that than first moments sadly, but I have a couple good ones, but nothing crazy.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: I've given away a ton of it.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: I did pull your top's chrome refractor out of the other day.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: Really?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: It was the best autograph that I pulled out of your entire case.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: Stop that.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: I got the super right here.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: No shit.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: I got somebody gifted that to me the other day.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: Hallelujah.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: Congrats.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: It was a little bit of a trade.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's sweet.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: The guy tagging Instagram and I messaged him back really quickly and he wanted to get my hands.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think I traded him like that.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: A twenty twenty one or twenty two Larry Bird caboon.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: Just for some value in cards and then I gave him like a sign ball or something like that.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: But I wanted to get him some card value as well.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what is it?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: So what was a card value with that Larry Bird?
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't know.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's like six hundred bucks.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't a ten.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_02]: It was like a dude.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: Six.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: Please don't.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: You fleece them.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: He wanted to give it for nothing and I was like, I had to
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: give you some value, but oh, that's cool.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's cool, man.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he just wanted some science stuff that I gave him.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think I might have gave him a cleat in the side ball and gave him a Larry Bird kaboom when I took a piece of chew gum out of my mouth.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right?
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Game chewed gum.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: That's so good.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: There's now.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now we got a couple things like that.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like I've got the, um, and all aces that I got a PSA ten, the pretty much similar situations like a sign, sign something.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: And guys are pretty pretty cool about it.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: Usually if, um, you reach out to them.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the, I mean, like something like the debut.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's a big car.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably like your third best car, but your best car to surface yet because I don't think the moment first super fractor has surfaced.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't seen it.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: So it probably be a different story.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that would be really nice fit of debut patch, but not the, that's probably.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Are you going to go after that one?
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm going to try my best.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think it helps that I've been heard a little bit.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I might can get in there a little bit, but I mean, we'll see if I can get it.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: I can get it if a guy wants something crazy.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I understand it's a valuable card.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Look, it's all a matter of who hits it and who hits any card, you know, it's like you pray that like the nice guy hits the card, you know, the reason we'll guy.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's cool, man.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's cool.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: Bubba, what do you got?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just glad.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just glad, Red.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: I get to talk to you before I've actually bought one of your cards because your cards were so expensive.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: So fast.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that was hard to get your stuff.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, at that release, I don't know.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, your stuff was sky high.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you were right there at skiing's level.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: And it was just really hard to dip my toes.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you talked about buying the dip.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: it's funny you're on the show because I literally I'm about to buy the deal after this show so you better whatever you want to get now right good and get it because that's the show I'm cleaning the shelves no I try to get it without cash so you can go ahead and buy up all all that's there but no definitely like I was thinking the same thing that's why I didn't get my hands on any of the earlier releases I was also new to the card game so I was like this is like a ridiculous amount of money for this car but I didn't kind of I wouldn't think the same way I think about them now so
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: No, I was just going to say, like, I'll get it.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to, we're all going to have different questions based on different stuff.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: Current probably going to be heavy on the sports car side.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Ham may be different stuff on the baseball cars kind of in the middle.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm probably going to be heavier on the baseball questions and more about
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: kind of your experience is coming up.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll kind of kick it off with your change up.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: So doing the research on you, looking at your arsenal, you're known to have one of the best changeups in baseball.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so I've got three boys coming up.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure we've got people listening to the show.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: They're curious, how do you get the changeup to be as effective for you?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: Is it the grip?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: Do you believe?
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is it just?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when did it click?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, can you talk a little bit about your changeup?
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I mean, it's I've been lucky with it.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's like the pitch I've thrown the same way since I was probably ten years old and you don't get a lot of pitches like that.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like you go through years and years of plan.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: You're always tinkering with something.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: But I kind of got lucky just falling into just very natural release for me natural feel for it.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I threw it a lot as a kid.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't really throw a breaking ball with and like little league in middle school.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: So it was a lot of like just throwing in changeups and messing with time.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so I mean, I kind of just got used to it.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: But now there's definitely tricks.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's easier nowadays, like within the past couple years, it's to like kind of hack a change up.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: There's different weird grips and you can go splitter a bunch of different things, but it's not as rare to see elite level changeups nowadays, which is cool to see like you guys usually either if you couldn't throw a changeup, you had to throw a splitter and if you couldn't throw that, you're just throwing breaking balls.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: Some of the nowadays guys are finding ways like a kick change or a splitter or like a
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: Splanker like skiing ties like a bunch of different things, but yeah, mine's very basic natural circle change grip just tumbles out of hand pretty good.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now does it have some inside run on the righty?
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of watching the video.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Look like it had some real run breaking.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's headers.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: I have a pretty pretty good natural run on sinker change up just from the slot I throw out.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: and I've always had it, but yeah, it definitely helps that it kind of gets in there underneath the righty, righty hands and moving away from the left-handed hitters for sure.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, they say, I mean, major league hitters, I mean, really any hitter would you when you're trying to sit on a curve ball, you're trying to sit on the slider, you're trying to pick up that spin.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: The change up, you're really not seeing that spin.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the toughest pitch to hit if you've got a good one.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: So that was kind of my kickoff question.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: So Ham, I know you had something to do.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_04]: I had a lot right now, so I played baseball in high school and it was slated to play it in C-State and I was a right hander, didn't throw overly hard, but I had a good change up.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_04]: That was like what kept me, and I had a lot of control, so I loved that about your game.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_04]: I want to say this first of all to our listeners, but Rhett, you kind of got on our radar.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_04]: So I've got three boys.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_04]: My son Matthew is in the room a second ago, and then grace in the wild.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_04]: He's fifteen, they're thirteen.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_04]: We watched you guys because we're North Carolina folks.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_04]: You're from North Carolina.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_04]: We watched you awake for us.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_04]: Pulling for you guys heavy with big ACC guys in that college world series, lead up.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_04]: And you through one of the most ridiculous games in my opinion in college.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_04]: And I pulled the stats up here.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_04]: You threw seven innings.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_04]: You had six K's, eighty eight pitches, and only three hits.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_04]: And that's against an LSU team that had Dylan Cruz, Tray Morgan, Tommy White, just a stack line up.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_04]: And I think schemes was on the other side of the hill.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_04]: And again, so when you came out of Bowman, you were set up overall pick, right, in the draft.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_04]: So Hamhouse went in big.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_04]: And I'll show you here.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_04]: This is your blue first Bowman.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_04]: All right, dude.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_04]: So we, we bought heavy that louder early and we jimmed three blues and the gold of Europe.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_04]: We, we PSA jimmed and so we've been following you for a long time on like that's hard side of things, right?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_04]: Now we'll say this because this is what we do.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_04]: We, we move in and out.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_04]: So we don't own those cards anymore.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_04]: But again, I know, no, no, no.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: It's, it's just about our strategy, but I'm, I'm just
- 16:46[SPEAKER_04]: saying like, man, we've been a fan of that from the beginning.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_04]: And I gotta say, from a first boom in historical run, you officially get the best hair on a baseball card in first boom of history.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I appreciate that.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big honor there.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what to do.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: We have to check some other guys, but that's something else.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: I had you on my radar because you looked like Jacob the gromm and I'm a veteran.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I got that on that flow.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's good.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to go ahead, man.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm good.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: Please go ahead.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I was going to ask you, Rhett.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: So like when you're navigating right now, you know, you came out, you had a very dominant, you know, minor league track pretty fast into the major leagues.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_04]: part of a ridiculously strong pitching staff with Cincinnati, you know, and now you're having to kind of navigate some some injury challenges with the oblique strain or whatever.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_04]: From a mental standpoint, just talk about, like as an athlete, this is your profession, right?
- 17:43[SPEAKER_04]: Like how do you navigate the challenges that come with, you know, injury?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, definitely.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the mind is it's definitely the hardest part about being injured.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you'll take the oblique hurting for the first three weeks and you would live with that way longer than you would this strain in your mentality being out here by yourself and on the other like I'm from North Carolina on the other side of the country.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Arizona just grinded away day in a day out trying to get back to play as fast as I can, but
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, at the same time, like, you know, put yourself in perspective.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_02]: There's a bunch of different ways I look at like I could have gotten hurt last year before I made it to the big leagues.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: I could have gotten hurt in college and it delayed where I got drafted.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: The timing is obviously you don't never want to get hurt, but it could be worse.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: It could be a lot worse.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I just look back if I was a kid.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's SOS of twenty-three years old.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be on the Big League team roster.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: Although I'm heard, I would take it a hundred times out of honor.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: Who did you grow up rooting for?
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: What baseball team?
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: I like the red sauce.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: I like the braves too, but it's usually the braze, but I was kind of everybody like the braves.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: And it's still like six hours away.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to do something else.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_02]: I love big poppy.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: So that was my team.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: I played a thin way on MLB the show every time I played a game.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_02]: Have you have you face Marcelo mayor?
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: Have you faced them?
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think I got a lot of teachers games last year.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think I got to have about or he got to have that off me.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: So can you can you can you still be a fan of a team and be on a major league teams or not?
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: They are in a different A.L.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: N.L.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Can you still have a red socks kind of like fandom there at all or does that just go away when you're a pro?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of gone away.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I wasn't die hard enough like I was going to.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: I still never have been to Fenway.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm not it's not like I was growing up there and and living day in a day out like it might be different if that was the case, but I kind of just like love the team they had going on at the time.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: So not for me personally.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: We're two questions, but I'll ask one at a time since it's impossible to ask two questions at the same time.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: So the question number one, did you have an idea of where you were going to be drafted?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like did your agent tell you at the time like
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I felt pretty good because when you're like, I think you meet with teams before the draft, like after the season ended, you know, I only met with teams like six, five or six different teams.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: So it was kind of within that that like it started the A's at A's pick six, Jacob Wilson went right before me.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I started with them and went all the way back to like the angels.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think picked at twelve or something like that or thirteen.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of within that range.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: I knew I was probably going
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: So my, the reason I ask is, and I doubt, I doubt you're going to be able to be fully honest here, but like there's got to be some part of you that knowing the teams that were interested, you're kind of hoping where to go.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's more obvious with like, and if college football players, right?
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like quarterbacks and stuff of where they want to be.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: But like was there any part when the reds picked you were like shit, I got a pitch in grade American ballpark, you know, because it's a hitters park, you know, it's one of the stuff ballpark.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like was that that make you worried at all?
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: Really because Honestly the Rocky's picked it nine and I was like I doubt I'm getting past the Rockies because I think I had really good meetings with them leading up and and Some of the like they're scouting directors everything.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: We had really like we had really good relationship and everything So I just didn't and I knew they were going pitching I didn't feel like I was gonna get past Colorado in my eyes I mean anything could have happened really and also I so like
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: The two teams that were likely to take me were the reds or the rocky.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean neither one of them is a pitcher's dream by any mean.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I come from Wakeforce and we have to smallest field and college baseball really with the wind blowing out to right field pretty much every day.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of used to it like me being a sinker guy and a lot of ground balls.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really care about
- 21:31[SPEAKER_02]: the size of the park.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, typically a sinker guy.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'll go up the other guy on pitching against the guy pitching the same park.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I kind of fair better than the other team.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's not going to look good on the stats by any mean, but in a scheme of like winning games, it kind of favors me pitching in a smaller bar pro because I'm less likely to give up home runs than a guy that gives up fly balls.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's still a quick rapid fire real quick.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: Don't admit that.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: The last team you would ever want to be traded to probably the Yankees.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, my guy dude.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, hi.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: Just well, I guess their rules are getting more lags nowadays and they don't want to be a part of that.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you don't need to be a part of that.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: Probably because it's a privilege to be a New Yorker.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have nothing to get to the Yankees or any other team.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: I just they got to try it to cut their hair.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: What else you got got guys?
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: I know Gary's got some stuff in the books there.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got a lot of stuff, but I mean, I'll I kind of lighten the mood.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: This might be the fan favorite question here.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: How is the food as a major league or so you walk in?
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: There's all this cool stuff.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: But after the game is a rig like I've heard, I've got a
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: guy that my son played with in the past.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: He was a thirteen year big wager.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: I asked him the same question.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, how was the food?
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, well, when I first came into the league, the food was X. He said the food now is totally different.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: Some teams have shells.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: Some teams are good, some teams are bad.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: So what's the food bag like if you're a Cincinnati red?
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: The next guy that's about to get drafted is he excited about what the food?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, what's the food?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think you have to be.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's pretty good.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not kind of like a home clubhouse.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's I mean, it's top-notch food every night.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: This might make me rethink my last answer about the Yankees.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: I've heard that the Yankees Road Clubhouse food is like a five-star restaurant.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like you people would rather eat there than go out at a restaurant in New York.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I believe that.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that based on legends.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: And the myths, their food was amazing.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, just New York when you go there on the road.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: This is the road club.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's not in the home.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's, there's, it's amazing.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: Good love to have you on Queens.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: We'd love to.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: We could use you.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'd be following.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: My next question for you is, were you ever a good hitter?
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: Were you ever a good hitter growing up to sports?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Were you, or were you always a pitcher and you, that was going to be your route?
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's kind of a two-part question.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean good is relative based on I mean my hometown and my high school was really small and I grew up I like people play you play like we barely had a team we did barely had a JV team I like junior and senior year like we didn't have a lot of people coming out we didn't have a lot of kids we were one A school so I was good for what I played against but like I wasn't going out I wasn't hitting in travel tournaments against like the best like guys and I wasn't that good I mean I probably could have handed my own but I wasn't getting recruited to
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: to hit any by any means.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Do you ever swing at it all still do you ever go hit VP if you can.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: I try to keep my swing in just a golf.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: Brett, are you are you a superstitious guy?
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, a little bit.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: Um, he's a little bit like the be.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like I want to like like on on your on the days that you're pitching.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: What's your routine?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like what superstitions or what's your routine?
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like from when you wake up.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's a seven p.m.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: game.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: What goes on?
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: Earlier in the day, it's not that not that big of a deal.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'll get a coffee pretty normal every single day of my life.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_02]: But how do you get your coffee on black?
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: Are you half and half for what?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: Depends most like every day like I'll do like a drop a half and half in there not the whole thing just a little Okay, okay, but I'll drink it black and it really whatever.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a consumer.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_05]: Okay
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: But it really kind of tightens up closer to game time probably like two hour two or three out like once I get to the field I'm kind of doing the same thing like I'm just once I get I get to the field early I don't like sitting at the house and just waiting so I'll get there early and just chill water pretty much all day just drink as much water as I can and then after I do my scouting report I kind of just my routine from there is basically like a warm up stretch and then
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: after I'll crush like a red pool and then after that it's everything's regimented like to the minute like I'm pretty doubt and just by stretching and warm up and I do it the same order yeah, but there's nothing like there's nothing early in day like I had I had a great outing last time I'm gonna have this lunch again or I'm gonna have this breakfast again
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe, but not not as to the dial as I am for my routine, but like it's like in college, I had a couple good outings in a row and I was eating Jersey Mike so I was like, yeah, I'll keep it going, but I'm not like still doing I'm not still doing it to the day.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: Are there people in the clubhouse that have are crazy with that?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure they are like it's like not even that big of a deal.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's like nothing's registering like not an example is registering with this like everybody has something they do or they wear the same thing every time or the same slide or something it's like just normal like you play every day so you kind of just end up doing the same thing.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: catch up.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: So when Evan Carter came in, we asked him the question about cards in the clubhouse.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: And he said the rangers were pretty active.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Jung and a lot of players were getting into it.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, about the reds.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: You know, guys, and the cards are all get our guys going a little bit more.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have a ton of guys.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think seeing me just getting maillers to my chair every day and spring training guys were like curious about it and trying to get.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think Trevinho, Jose Trevinho's in in a little bit Tyler Stevenson's in in a little bit.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: I know Burns has a couple good cards.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: Chase Burns has a couple of his good cards.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't know how deep they are into it.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I think I'm trying to get it growing but nobody crazy yet.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: it's surprising with like I mean I guess I could say I guess it's not surprising the amount of cards that you guys have to sign it probably is like I'm sick of looking at them at this point yeah I mean the way I can describe it is the way I like I told you guys earlier the way I got into it more so was because of football it's it's a little bit different when you see cards if guys you know and you're with every single day and you just think they're like your friend and then you're like oh man you have a card that's like worth
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: fifty thousand dollars.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like it doesn't register really to you there.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not as cool.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you get me like a Drake may downtown like or something like that's sick to me because I mean, I'm not hanging out with him in the clubhouse every single day.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: Who is anyone?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'll trade you a Drake may downtown for some of your cards right now.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Who is your, uh, who would you say your closest friend or friends are in the club and on the team?
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think me and Nicodolo and Brandon Williamson got really close.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: This patch obviously the pitchers are really close groups.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: They're like hunters gray, Abbott, Lidolo and and take me and Chase Burns because we were the young guys, but I would say like our pitching core is really
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: really close like obviously I wish I got to spend more time in the club.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_02]: So it's been a little bit since I've been around these guys.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think we have some younger guys that are that are awesome, but I think Ladolo and Brandon and so like Aggie are is another guy that I came up with.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: So some of the younger guys
- 28:37[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's pretty wild.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I think about the staff that you guys are totten right now between you and burns, and Abbott, Ladolo, and Hunter Green.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_04]: I do not get an argue that like, that's the best staff.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_04]: When everybody's healthy, like, that's the best staff in the major league, right?
- 28:52[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's ridiculous.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_04]: To be able to bounce off, just kind of the trade, right, with all these guys.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_04]: And all of them have different stuff, and they come in from a different angle.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_04]: Like, as a picture on a staff like that, what?
- 29:06[SPEAKER_04]: Are you guys like, do you have the ability?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_04]: Do you spend time talking through like approach and strategy and all that kind of stuff?
- 29:12[SPEAKER_04]: Or do you make kind of stay in their own little silo?
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: No, yeah, you definitely do that.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you watch so many games with these guys and you see so many crazy things.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: So you'll just like pop in and just ask a couple quick questions to guys like what they're thinking here.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: But also everybody's so unique and everybody, you kind of get the when you get to the big leagues you get there because you're you're so yourself like no one knows you better than you.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: You're you're gonna have a hard time in the big leagues.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: To an extent, yeah, you're picking brains and you're trying to learn as much as you can from these guys that have done it longer than you.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, they're not you.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: They're a totally different person and what works for them doesn't always, wouldn't always work for you.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_04]: I got another question too about coming up.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, you had a chance, right, to be drafted at a high school, but it was a short season because of COVID, is that right?
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, if I got drafted, it probably would have been a shot of the dark guy.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_04]: And so you went to, you went to wake, you ended up, and when I remember Twin Season was kind of a struggle of trying to find your place, you know, and then sophomore, your ACC pitcher the year, junior ACC pitcher the year, you know, had ridiculous sophomore in junior season.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_04]: Is there anything that changed for you like in your mindset?
- 30:25[SPEAKER_04]: from like your senior high school to your sophomore year of college because again it's like you're doing the same thing I wouldn't imagine you're pitching right you're doing your thing but now you're literally undefeated ACC pitcher the like was there anything that changed in your mind there or was it just things coming together
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: I would say I just got smarter every year.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like my freshman year, the numbers were pretty inflated, but I still made every start on the weekend as a true freshman.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I was getting beat up, but we were also like, you have to look at our team a little bit.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: We were really young.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: We had seventeen freshman that we relied on to finish games.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't like we were going to go to the College World Series that year.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: We knew we had half the team was freshman.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to throw a hundred pitches every game no matter what the score was pretty much.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: So some of those numbers can be inflated, but
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: I did obviously didn't.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't as good as I was for sophomore and junior year, but you learn so much.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you get beat up, week in and week out as a freshman, but you're still taking the ball every single week and you have to find a way to get better and then you just get more confident as you go like sophomore year.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was like, okay, I'm
- 31:30[SPEAKER_02]: better than I was last year and then by the time you're doing you're and you've done it for three years every single week you've taken the ball and most of them being on Fridays or Saturdays I mean you get pretty comfortable up there and and you kind of just know that you you give yourself your team probably the best chance to win.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: Give me your pick.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: The reds have a pretty deep farm system.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: Give me your pick.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: You get to choose one guy in the monitor leagues right now.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Who's going to be the best player?
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you could choose.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: You could choose a top three.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: Who's going to be the best major?
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm going to count to the guys I'm holding right now.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: Apparently I got hector.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: Roger you guys.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: I got a super factor.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: You got a super.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: I got his red wave right here to TSA ten.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, he is so underrated man.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's a hit of that kid is man.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's good.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_02]: Sal, store, obviously.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to go with Cam, call you just because he was a pretty high prospect.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: I like Tyson Lewis too.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we got a good.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: We got a good.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go Tyson, Sal, and Hector.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, people are so high on hector.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, from a hobby perspective, he just lost his height, but he's still like one of the best hitters in my baseball.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: He like he could be Luis or I was like, yeah, it could be that level hitter.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's twenty one years old and putting up three, fifty in triple AM.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's he's probably one of the best actual true hitters I've seen from a young kid.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: So three guys, not on the reds, non-pitchers that you, if you could invest in for the career, who are you picking?
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I just actually told Valley the other day, probably like three months ago that we need to, you need to look into the CJ K-Face and he's gone crazy since then.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: I've known CJ K-Face.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: No wonder, no, that's who's paying five hundred times over Comps.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, what that is doing.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: I've been, see, I've known CJ K-Face since sophomore year college.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_02]: He, at Miami, he lead all first pitch of the game in a homer off me.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: And then, ever since then, I just said, we had really long at Bass and grinded back and forth between each other at Waking Miami.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I knew that that circled him.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: And it's no surprise to me that he's debuted already.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: I need to think.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's a lot of, like, that depolar kid for the Dodgers.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's really good.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: Dodgers actually have a lot of guys.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: They're their farm systems pretty crazy.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_04]: Being a North Carolina guy, so we're down at the coast.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_04]: Born raised in Wilmington and Walker is from that area.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_04]: Did you grow up playing against with Walker on state teams and all that kind of stuff?
- 33:58[SPEAKER_04]: Do you know him fairly well?
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: I was three years old and we played with the same organization.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: We played with the South Charlotte Panthers, but he was always on the younger teams.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I always knew him and kept up with him and knew he was going to be pretty special, but I don't know.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we ever got to be on the same teams.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's special.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's for sure special.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm afraid I think he's probably too expensive for me to try and invest in now, but he's definitely yeah, he was two or three picks ahead of me in the draft as well.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: I like once after his like that first five in that draft is pretty cookie cutter.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: So you kind of knew what it was gonna happen with skins, cruise lengthward, Clark and Jenkins after that.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: It was for me in Wilson art, but those top five, I mean, yeah, those were legit guys.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_03]: What are you just saying?
- 34:50[SPEAKER_03]: Think about those top ten pigs.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: And we had a match all behind me that was on the first and wall drips back in the show.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: And we had like seven or eight guys to be with the first calendar year.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: The best was red.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_00]: But first song we spoke was like, I was like, yeah, you're like my super fractures never surface.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, yeah, it has almost bought it.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, what?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, yeah, dude, I'm telling you.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_00]: It was tight flowing this entire time.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yeah, but it was tight flowing.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was like I can't I've never seen it like I'm sure I would have seen it by now, but That's one boy special.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: Is it sure that you're you?
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: Are you slated to pitch a to do a bullpen session next week or is that yeah next week next week?
- 35:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, the first one.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: Good Hopefully we'll see how it goes and hopefully boys can make a playoff push.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: We'll also drop to tough one today against the fillies, but yeah, thanks for the help there.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they they've all seven or eight are now current
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know man, a lost track.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: They was seven before today.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't play today, so it's still seven.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's still seven.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: Man, they're in bed shape, right now.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: The braid braids are about to stomp on the mitts neck, starting tomorrow, and they're gonna put it inside of our misery real quick, like they always do.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I've got a couple rapid fire questions here for you.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: So what, who are the best hitters you face?
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: It could be college, it could be high school, it could be pro level, it could be minor leagues.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: Who are three guys that stood out to you that you're like, man, these guys, they're like,
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'll give your dawns a number one for sure.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: Nick Kurtz number to probably might be over your dawn, honestly.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and then K-Face.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I can't get K-Face was the guy that got me.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: I come serious throughout college.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: If you had to give me one hitter that give me the most trouble.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: I would say CJ K-Face all day like an over-dilling crew is over wide length forever.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_02]: over those guys, I would said, K-FUS.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: So, piggybacking on that question, do you collect any of those guys?
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: Because you're playing against them, you're like, man, Nick Kerch is the man.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: Do you collect guys when you're like, man, that guy's that good?
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: And who are you collecting?
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: Are you, are you on Connor Griffin?
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: Or are you any of these up and coming guys?
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're on.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to get the guys that people don't really know as much about that I've either known like I play with Hector and I put with South so yeah I'm collecting those guys.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think they've both been undervalued up until this point.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: They're going low risk.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: I reward here.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the radar.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: So, but Kurt's, I mean, he does owe me an out of ten odd of card because I gave him one of mine.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: So he owes me one.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: That was before they quadriple the value, whatever they're at.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure he gives you twenty-four draft, not twenty-five, but in prospect.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_04]: So maybe announce that here live on the show, Nick Kurtz, if you're watching.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: You have rent louder and add a ten boomer first on it.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: I can't afford him anymore, so he owes me any expenses and in the mail.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_02]: That's a crazy I don't think anybody can afford that actually looked at like I I looked at probably a couple months ago and I couldn't tell if his value is already somewhat high because he was in AAA hitting pretty good, but this was probably three or four months ago, but now that I'm obviously I should have trusted my gut and probably went in a little harder on on him, but
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'm trying to buy guys that are like really, really under the radar, like I see these guys every day.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_02]: I see it playing spring training, you know, get a watch and first hand, like I can kind of tell and I've played against them in college.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: So give us ret louders number one under the radar.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want to tell anybody right now who it is on the show.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: But you're going to come out clean with it.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: Who's the number one under the radar guy?
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you're wanting to buy right now.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's been Hector, honestly, because he's shooting up the, up the boards now, but I bought my first Hector card and the thing about Hector, he doesn't sign.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like he won't sign for people standing outside.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_02]: So, I think, how come his value?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: He just, he just doesn't.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's just like keeps walking.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: What a, what a dick.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: What a dick.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like, bro, you ought to make the show yet, man.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: But it doesn't increase his value of his auto.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think I think someone probably told him that one day and he's just like, okay, I'm not going to do it.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: So he thinks he gets more money in the longer.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how much it actually works like that, but so I've played, I got my first Hector card when I played with him in high A last year and he's one of the best hitters I've seen.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: I have invested a little bit more into him pretty heavily.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I would say Hector is the guy, but coming up, I do like some, I mean, all these guys that I think about
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: a couple months later they shoot up like Tyson's shooting up.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_02]: I saw him play very early on into draft camp when he got drafted and I was like this is special.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a lot crazy hard.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: Really hard.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, super hard.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: Some of these guys like the ACC guys, I play with some of my newer probably gonna pay an out one day like I like Cooper Engels.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think it'll probably be a pretty serviceable big bigger in his time.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, no like heavy hitters that are under the radar.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think the hobby's getting so smart that you're not really sneaking at past guys really anymore.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: We're trying not to let that happen.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty hard.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: When did you know I always I asked I asked Travis the core of this.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: I asked Evan Carter this.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna ask you the same thing.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: When did you know that you had a chance to be a pro baseball player?
- 40:03[SPEAKER_02]: Once I got to college once I was growing up in a small town like I knew I was good I was the best in my county and best in surrounding the area and I was seeing guys that I played against get drafted like out of high school when I was like okay I could probably get drafted but it's a different level like knowing you can get drafted first knowing you can be in the
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: in the big leagues, at least for me it was like I knew I could get drafted way earlier than I knew I could pitch in the big leagues, but once I got to college and you see some some pro guys come back, you talk to more pro guys, you talk to more coaches and you kind of just understand that the separation of talent, it's getting smaller and smaller, like guys are getting super talented super early, but just it's a lot like the mind and experience and
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: Just I don't know.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if the right mental headspace is honestly the biggest turtle that guys need to like, eighty five, ninety percent of people in the minor league are good enough to play in the major leagues.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_02]: Will they put it together?
- 41:01[SPEAKER_02]: Are they consistent enough?
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: Can they commit to the routine?
- 41:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's boring.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's really boring.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you play every day.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: You got to do the same thing.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: You got to be ready to go.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: And it is boring and it don't do what just guys that can commit to it.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the biggest, you know, you've
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: being in the minor leagues and then being around these guys, a lot of people fail to make it to the show, right?
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what do you think the biggest thing is it motivation?
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: Is it work ethic?
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: Because obviously the talent levels is there, but like, what is it?
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: What is the biggest factor in failure, do not make it?
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for me, it's like you have to be a little bit naive almost to where I don't know if a naive or ignorant sort of right word, it's like,
- 41:45[SPEAKER_02]: you have to look for the good and the bad so because it can go really bad and there you can find bad and everything but you can also find good and everything so you have to find what's going good and you almost have to like live in a little bit of a fantasy land where you're like actually I'm better than this like everyone else doesn't see it right now but I know I'm better and it's just not going my way right now like that's what kind of you got to live in this like optimistic fantasy land
- 42:09[SPEAKER_02]: But you need to be realistic with yourself in the sense like if something's not working you can't just sit back and wait like you have to do everything you can and once you realize that you're on the right path like the results are not going to come immediately like you're not to be like oh I'm going to fix this and then I'm going to be that much better right away you got to know trust the process that what you're doing is working and then once you do that you got to be like
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's just not going my way, it'll come back around.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: Was there ever a point where it got so bad that you considered leaving ball?
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't say, I wouldn't say so.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the worst it's been is it like it happens to everybody, but you just look forward to the policies and that much more like that that happens to everybody like you you get.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: A hundred forty games in and you're not gonna make the playoffs like when I was up last year.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: It was sick for me because I was making my month and a half Long MLB debut at the back in the year But these guys have been in the big leagues for a hundred forty games hundred twenty games at this point We're not gonna make the playoffs dare drag into the finish line.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_02]: I have a new life basically like I'm juiced up like my season just and you can see guys in the club outside around you like man.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: This has been a long year
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: settled down rookie.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but that's that's also why they're pros and they've done it for so long.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: They can get drained that way, but still go out and perform every single day.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's like that's the separator in guys that yeah, everybody's tired.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's ready for the offseason at the end, but you still have to show up and do it.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a, that's a question I have.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: I asked this question as well.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: I got three little boys that'll go back and watch this episode one day and the old is just turned twelve, got a ten year old, got a eight year old.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: They're dreams to be sitting right where you are, right?
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like a lot of the kids are going to watch this show.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: So what is your biggest piece of advice to kids?
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's a, hey, I want to be a major league baseball player, like from where you were at twelve years old, ten years old, like what would be your biggest piece of advice from there?
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: Not necessarily how to become a pro, but those moments where you're doubting yourself, or those moments where you do struggle.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: those moments where you're put up against others like perfect game this day and time.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's ranked from the time they're nine years old.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: You can see everybody's stats.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: So just curious how what your advice would be to them.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it makes it a lot easier going through the hard times as long as you can have fun, it makes the hard times a lot easier.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: But once you're putting so much pressure on yourself that it's not fun anymore, that's when you need to take a step back and reevaluate what you're doing.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, it's it's difficult because
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: There's so many eyes on everybody and you're being judged all the time.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard for the individual to not it's hard for the individual person to realize that each little performance does not define like your skill set or how you are as a player like you can have you can watch Jacob agram go give up ten runs in an ACL game in the back field
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: and that does not mean Jacob DeGrom is bad.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's just how it is.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's baseball.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: You see crazy stuff.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: You'll see horrible games from the best players ever and you'll see great games from players that are bad.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: This just happens.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like you can't look at individual events or even like a couple games stretch.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_02]: You're not being people and people know that.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: If people know baseball, they know that
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: This is a game of ups and downs and flows and you ride your highs for as long as you can and then you're going to have lows and you might go for three or four starts, but then you're going to put up twenty scoreless or twenty with three runs and it'll even right back out.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's a long game.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you got to play the long game to love averages and it's hard.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's the hardest part is knowing that.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: Actually there was a there was a pitching prospect in the res that I wanted to ask you about Chase Petty because he came up and he and he looked good like real good the first I think ining and then he struggled majorly like did you have you worked with him at all?
- 46:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, we pitched.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: We were both in AA pretty much all last year together and we've kind of been in the same corner for a lot of a lot of my time in the Oregon.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't been with him a ton since, you know, he's had that chance, but he's an electric arm electric stuff.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: Good kid works hard.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think, honestly, he's just had some unlucky and unfair situations he's been put in.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's the hard part about coming up mid-year when you're needed.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a picture.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's a lot of pressure and it's very short notice and you get thrown in situations that are kind of unfair Yeah, but that's a part of it.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: You got to like mentally recover from that Yeah, it's tough.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's very tough and and you look at some of the instances he's put in like Yeah, he had his debut is whatever and then they kept him up there for a while and and just they kept him in the bullpen trying they using like he was like all right, you're gonna they're gonna use an opener
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then you'll come in and it doesn't always work out that way.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just hard for like a twenty was a twenty one twenty two.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: Hard for it.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: Did that young like when you come up to the big leagues and it's not you're not on that strict schedule because the only thing that matters is winning.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_02]: And they're going to do whatever it takes to win.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: And it's different from the minor leagues where you're scheduled every day, everything you do is scheduled.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just a different thing.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: So it's been tough, but I think he's going to be great.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_04]: You alluded to this rat.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_04]: It was really interesting to me.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_04]: It's like baseball is so unique because it is a long season.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it is long.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_04]: One of our really, really dear friends, her father has been in the bigs for fifty consecutive years, opening day as a player.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_04]: And now he's a coach.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_04]: He's on the bench for the angels actually.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_04]: you know I can't even wrap my head around the length of the season so that said it's natural to think of like my gosh all season like I'm really looking forward to you know to me like so so when you have downtime in the off season like what do you how do you unwind like how do you kind of break it down you come back to North Carolina hang out you like to travel do you you know go to football games like what's your deal
- 48:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, I've only had one offseason really just last year, but you know, it was awesome.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_02]: I got to come back to North Carolina for a little bit, spend some time in Florida.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_02]: But really, I mean, you only have, I would say in the picture, you have like four weeks, four, five weeks of down maybe not even three, four weeks of downtime where you like give the arm break and like you're still kind of working out during that point.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_02]: You might take one full week off of doing nothing, but, you know, after that, like you're kind of ramping back up pretty quickly and working out the first
- 48:39[SPEAKER_02]: like after you start but things up like four or five times a week and eventually you're back going seven days a week in the offseason so it like it's nice you get time at home and and you can be on your own routine but yeah I mean it's not like you're not doing anything you got to come especially for the young guys like we're coming in to spring training pretty ready to go not like we're quite personal showing up and we can figure it out as we get there you know it's like we got to kind of get going earlier yeah for sure what a commitment that I mean it speaks
- 49:06[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we've had a few, and we said, Sekora was on and haven't Cartered yourself.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_04]: And we've been, you know, fortunate to be around a lot of guys at play.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_04]: Like, it is a commitment, man.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_04]: That's what people do not understand.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_04]: Like, it is a massive, mental commitment to a game that you love.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's, and it's not all, you know, flash and eat and food in the clubhouse, man.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it is a grind.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, it's awesome.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't trade it for a single thing in the world, really, at all.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm very blessed.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I've been at this since I was,
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: thirteen I was like pretty that there's thirteen I was starting up maybe fourteen I'll say fourteen like I was every weekend every like I was doing something pretty much almost daily when I was fourteen fifteen probably not you know since college and then my back into my high school of daily has been
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: getting better somehow at baseball and it's like second nature at this point.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't think about it.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like obviously you do it for so long.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's like everything pretty much revolves around it.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: But it's a ton of sacrifice.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's a lot of things I did do as a teenager that I probably could have.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_00]: If you never made it to the big leagues, what do you think you'd be doing right now?
- 50:14[SPEAKER_02]: I thought about this a lot and it depends on if I have all the knowledge I have about baseball, but I don't think I would have all that knowledge without good here.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I would like to
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: worked in baseball of some sort but probably more so unlike the like the sports science like stats side I was pretty we had a big analytics program awake and I was actually pretty involved in it and I worked with them and did some coding and metrics so I really thought that was fun and I would try to maybe do something in that but you know is that probably would have like followed a finance route if I was just a normal college kid you could be in real estate like Matt Harvey
- 50:54[SPEAKER_02]: I might do that anyway as well.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we can have... I don't think we can have... I don't think we can have rent on the show and not ask him about Ellie Delacruz.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: Being a teammate of Ellie Delacruz and going to the club house every day and seeing that mammoth of a man and seeing him play like what is that like watching somebody that could be generational right in front of you with what he's doing already at his young age like what is what is that like?
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's special.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think people don't realize how hard it is to play shortstop in the movie and how hard it is to play every single day.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_02]: He's played every game this year.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's hard.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's every single day.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I can't even imagine what his body feels like, but he's an animal.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: And he is prepared every single day to play as hard as he can.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, I respect it.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_02]: No matter if he was good or not, obviously he's like one of the best players in the league, but even if he wasn't, it's like,
- 51:51[SPEAKER_02]: that, you know, hard it is just to be able to get yourself able to play every day.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_02]: I could do it.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be able to do it even if you're good or bad.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like, just the amount of work it takes just to be on the field, people don't realize.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: What about a guy?
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: And all this is my last question because I asked you, I said that earlier.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: This is my fifth last question.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm encouraged going to get on me here.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: My southern accent, how I pronounce this.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: So no L.V.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: Marta.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: So to get buying him up, I bought him up all the way coming up through the minor leagues.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: He was a top prospect in the Mariners organization.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: Could believe the Mariners traded him to the reds, but they did.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: And he had this suspension last year.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I kind of put this cloud around him kind of like a tattoos thing.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: I still believe.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: I still have reds, oranges, all kinds of stuff of him.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: And you look at his stats in a hundred and seventy of bats over a full season, the dudes like thirty five, forty home run guy, thirty, forty steels, two eighty batting average, a true short stop that's playing third because Ellie's on the team.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: So what's your, what's your thoughts there?
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just curious on Marta.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: Am I, do you think I'm on the right track?
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're definitely right and he's been one of the biggest sparks to our lineup since he's come back from injury.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: He had a similar oblique injury on that sign line in parts of this year and getting him back and his back back in the lineup since he all started break has been huge for our team and actually I don't I don't know they they kind of kicked him to right field a little bit lately and he's had three or four outfield assists in his first probably twelve games of playing outfield and I think him and the right field he's got a crazy army.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think he could just blow some two like he next power hitting a
- 53:31[SPEAKER_02]: corner outfielder like he could really be that special in the hell of a game oh yeah he's twenty four twenty five something like that twenty three yeah he's just twenty three yeah yeah so yeah I pulled his one of one out of rookie card really yeah he's tools down I mean he's got everything you can you could ask for in a player and I think if he can just stay on the field a little bit like you're gonna see that that full season kind of take off
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we know we don't want to be traded, but where do you want to be traded?
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: Go.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you were going to be traded, do you want to be on the red?
- 54:06[SPEAKER_00]: We know you want to be on the reds, but if the reds didn't exist and you had to be traded because the reds were, bye-bye, where are you going?
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: Where you want to go?
- 54:12[SPEAKER_00]: Where you want to go?
- 54:13[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 54:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like who the owner is who's gonna pay you Steve Cohen?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think I don't think you can, especially where I'm at right now.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't think that that forehead because it like stuff changes so fast.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't even, you can't even guarantee yourself your own roster like next year or like, and our sport is so you can't look at guarantees.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: So you kind of just have to be where you're at.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think I love Chicago and honestly, if I was being selfish, if I ever got option for the white socks, I'd be back in Charlotte, so that'd be pretty cool to be at home.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_00]: Give me your, give me your last, your first case scenario.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: What worst case scenario?
- 55:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in AAA and Charlotte, best case scenario.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in the big leagues in Chicago.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's definitely a guess.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm here.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_00]: Get me your last meal.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_02]: My last meal in Earth.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: I probably go Tom Hawke River.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_05]: Come where?
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'd probably cook it.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_02]: I think I cook in your own house.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: What a man.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, once you figure out, once you figure out, do it right, you don't like any other ones.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_02]: But I probably have a bunch of random stuff because I don't only want bits of a, and then I want bits of a chicken parm.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: And like probably some like mac and cheese with some brood mozzarella on top or something like that.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_00]: And what's the drink of choice?
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: Probably sprite.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_00]: What about, what about an adult beverage, Rhett?
- 55:47[SPEAKER_00]: What are you five?
- 55:49[SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, yeah, pretty much.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just a eligible to drink.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I would do a spray because I do a Sunday spray once a week.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's my drink of choice.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: But no, I drink probably red wine.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's my, there you go.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_02]: Cabernet.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_00]: Good man.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_01]: So now we got it.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: I said I had the last questions, but now you've you've spurred my mind again.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to mistake you here.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: So you're Cincinnati guy.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: You've had of you say no, most day counts, right?
- 56:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: How was that?
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: It was great.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_02]: When did we go?
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember what it was, but it was unreal.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you feel big time in there and then sit down and eat now.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was just like in my week of debut when I was up.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_02]: I went there and so unreal.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_01]: So say no or you're from Charlotte, so you've probably been down the greenville, the house shophouse.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_01]: I've been to house shophouse?
- 56:38[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_01]: And where is this greenville cell killer?
- 56:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_01]: House shophouse?
- 56:43[SPEAKER_01]: Check it out.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_01]: You're a state guy out of house.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: I get state child shop else unbelievable to unbelievable.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: I have to check that on the way out to check that out.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like closer.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: See I see you got pine hers in the back.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like closer east that way.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like forty minutes from pine hers this where his where my my house is right now.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm closer to the middle of nowhere.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're probably, I mean, I don't know.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, a couple hours, I guess.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, three hours, two hours, four, five.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I'll have to check that out when I'm down there for sure.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: So tell your boy Kirk's, by the way, too.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sitting on several of his oranges right now.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_01]: We can work something out if he wants one.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he wants him or not.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_02]: I need, I need all his cards and come in my way.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_02]: He owes me.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just send it right to me.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's been more in the video games.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'll take his cards.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll take him.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, he's basically playing in a video game right now.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know that kid is unreal.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: I thought his, I thought his cards were pricey when he came out too.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, I don't know if I can get into these and then who would have thought a year later he's got one of the best at lines in the big leagues?
- 57:49[SPEAKER_04]: Rhett, Rhett, how long are you two?
- 57:50[SPEAKER_04]: Twenty three.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_04]: Twenty three.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_04]: So one of the things that I think about right, like when I was growing up, you know, was cowardly, congenier, Kingriffy, junior, Frank Thomas, Bo Jackson, right, like those guys.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, I don't fanboy on guys because they're in the bigs or whatever, but like,
- 58:08[SPEAKER_04]: running to Bo Jackson at the national last week.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, oh my god, that's Bo Jackson.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_04]: I was like this.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_04]: You need to like, Bo Jackson.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_04]: So coming up, like, you know, as a kid playing ball and then getting into the big.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_04]: So like, is there a moment that you've had where like, you're in and with, you know, playing against or whatever, a guy, and you're like that moment hits you, you're like surreal.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_04]: You're like, how am I here right now?
- 58:33[SPEAKER_04]: Like this?
- 58:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_04]: He had that moment.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, with Tida was our manager and he called me like the day after he got hired I was like this is this isn't real like because I said I was a red sucks man.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_02]: He when I was twelve years old I could probably only name one manager and it was Tida and that's just like the coolest thing ever like I was watching him on TV with David Ortiz doesn't just enjoy the game to spring training and talk to us like that is that's it like tin road me would have went
- 58:59[SPEAKER_02]: crazy for that and then realizing that I'm in the clubhouse that he's trying to influence to play harder.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like that is like that's awesome.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_04]: So Trot Nixon, who was on that team?
- 59:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Trot's a woman to guy from woman to.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_04]: And did you see that Netflix special they did on that real series team?
- 59:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I watched pretty much all of it.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I ran into you.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_04]: It should trots son, place for state.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_04]: His youngest son, Luke, place for state.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_04]: And that was at his end.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_02]: Is he ever another son?
- 59:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Chase.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_04]: Chase was at state.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_04]: He transferred to Memphis for his senior year.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_04]: But Luke's a sophomore at state.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_04]: And they were playing UNCW and we were down there and I was talking to him and watching that documentary was like everything dude because that was the team.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_04]: I was in college at the time.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_04]: I was a freshman at NC State.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, sophomore maybe.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_04]: Like that was sick.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_04]: That's pretty cool though about.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I was that's a little bit on my younger side.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't remember that team, but like the teams that followed that and like the presence that set.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's like what I grew up on like big popping Josh Beckett, fair tech, Eucalyze, all the like, enjoy it.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like I love those guys.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, to think about that Rich Hill could be your dad.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's been he's forty five years old.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_01]: Rich Hill still in the major league mountain.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_01]: But they get about a guy like, yeah.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: Justin Verlander, I just looked it up.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_01]: You were for in diapers three years old, and Justin Verlander was in the major leagues.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like how cool, how cool is that the, it's all seriousness to be a guy that's watching somebody like that who might be the last of his kind, Scherzer and Verlander, Kerschel, and they're in the game right now with those guys, and you've watched them, I mean,
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's gotta be surreal.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_02]: I need to take it in a little bit more than I do.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I just honestly am like, how do they keep doing it?
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_02]: How have they done this for this long?
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's so impressive.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, they were really good in their peak.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, every, yeah, they were nasty.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like, one of the best pictures ever at the peak.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_02]: How have they pitched for twenty years?
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's unreal to me.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I'm twenty three years old and go through injuries now and
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_02]: I can't imagine like there are twenty years, even how many ups and downs they've had and still stuck through it.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean it's super impressive.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_00]: God bless Dick Mountain.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well, another one of those moments like you were talking about, that made me think.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, to it, like me and Kershaw, this is probably one of the coolest ACL games of the year.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_02]: Me and Kershaw, I'll put started against each other and rehabs, starting in Arizona this past year.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_02]: So that was pretty cool.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_02]: Coming up in the outfit alongside Kershaw.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_02]: Who won the game?
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: Who won the game?
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think I think they did.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think he did it.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he got me.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he threw like six.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_02]: No, it in.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, this guy's crazy.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that is.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, yeah, he's got to figure it out.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_04]: That is so good.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_04]: Full boys.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_04]: We, we can sit here and talk online.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_04]: This has been super, super down to earth.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_04]: Just fun chatting it up.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, this has been great.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_04]: You've been awesome, man.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you guys for having me.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's been fun.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_04]: Just some relatable man, but really, really appreciate a voice.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_04]: As we wrap up, any final thoughts, Kurn, do you have any questions about what Reds have the progress tomorrow?
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_00]: No, I did want to ask a question that I know a lot of people are going up, but I was interrupted before and I'm thankful that it was because if I asked this question, there's going to be a lot of weird, weird looks that I'm going to be getting.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I kind of want to ask it.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's, I find I guess it will.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_00]: I got to know.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_01]: We can always cut it.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we can always cut it.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_00]: I got, but I got to know.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_00]: When you guys shower after the game, is it a big shower or is it individual shower?
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_02]: I have to know.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_02]: There's individual shower heads, but it's like a big open.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_00]: The big open shower.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_02]: So like you have a font, do you have a follow up?
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_02]: I live in it like it's actually crazy though, because yeah, when you tell people about that, like it's so normal to us now, but
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_02]: that's not normal for the like average person like yeah we it's an open shower with like ten faucets and then you just like talking to the guy about the game it's like early though L. E. Delacruz he's a big dude
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_04]: Hey Kurt, have you not seen that bit?
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_04]: I can't remember who it was.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_04]: I think it might have been Chipper Jones.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_04]: Chipper Jones was a rookie on the braids and he said he was in the shower and next thing he knows he looks over in that X is like P in on him in the shower.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_04]: And he's like welcome to the bigs.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_04]: We actually put up like
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_02]: we put up dividers in the showers and sensing now but there's no like curtain or anything so like you can still see it but that you can't see it's like a urinal you know you blocked off to the next person beside you and guys were like mad about it like when they didn't like it like dude it's the clubhouse it's it's like been this way for fifty years sixty seventy years like it's been this way now you're gonna now you won't privacy ever quit whoever requested i guess we know something about them yeah i don't know who that was but
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it was serious, but they were like, dude, what the heck?
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we're on the privacy here now.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's funny.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody knows seriousness.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_00]: I, I, yeah, yes.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_04]: I'm done.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_04]: I'm done, but I mean, I feel like a lot of people is
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_00]: are curious.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, people like myself are curious.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm comfortable in my own, I'm uncomfortable in my own sexuality here.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a heterosexual male with three children.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I just, I was curious.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_00]: But in all seriousness, I appreciate you coming on the show and taking the time.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, we hope that, you know, the rehab continues to go smoothly.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_00]: And we're all, I know we're all rooting for you here at the SportsCard CEO.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: And now we're going to start buying your cards again.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_01]: by the dip.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just really thankful that at ten twenty tonight the show ends because it gets creepy after ten twenty what car for the late night.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm glad it is.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_00]: This is why it wasn't going to say it says I'm going to ask it.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm so glad you did turn and this is fogger for days.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's fantastic.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like every other interview now.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_00]: Let's make it somewhat different.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's got to be real.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's got to be real.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm right loud.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for listening to the sports car.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_02]: See.
