- 0:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, take that, Take that, Take that.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Welcome back to Andy, second time on the show. It's
- 0:17Speaker 1: been a while, It has been a minute.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You were in a totally different place last time.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I said, we're in a new place now. But it's
- 0:23Speaker 1: not a new place. It's an old place, but it's
- 0:26Speaker 1: it's new for you, it's new for me.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Was that pre or post pandemic?
- 0:30Speaker 2: I think it was just.
- 0:31Speaker 1: After the pandemic when I was just after twenty one
- 0:33Speaker 1: maybe yeah, yeah, definitely post COVID. So welcome.
- 0:37Speaker 3: So how long?
- 0:38Speaker 1: First of all, how long you guys been friends?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Because it's been so long that you had to ask me,
- 0:41Speaker 2: you're still with your lady? That's a question, which is
- 0:43Speaker 2: a great you know, he did that off camera, which
- 0:45Speaker 2: I appreciate.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, you're still with your lady? Right?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you don't people getting divorced right now. I
- 0:53Speaker 2: could have had a whole different family. I could have
- 0:56Speaker 2: found out.
- 0:56Speaker 3: The error on that side of assumption.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah that's good.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it was twenty one so five years.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah, So welcome back, man, You guys how did this
- 1:09Speaker 1: Larry and Bird thing come together?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah, the Magic and Bird project, Larry and Bird, Larry Bird,
- 1:17Speaker 2: yea yeah, Magic and Bird. Yeah. Yeah, it was just
- 1:20Speaker 2: it kind of started as it in twenty seventeen. It
- 1:23Speaker 2: started as a joke and it was like, we should
- 1:25Speaker 2: do a side project because Words played, one of my
- 1:28Speaker 2: favorite artists, favorite writers, closest friends, was getting busy doing
- 1:32Speaker 2: his own thing creating music, and I was like, your
- 1:35Speaker 2: voice is unbelievable. So we we collabed on like a
- 1:39Speaker 2: song or two. We had a ton of fun doing it, and.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I was like.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I was trying to find I was in my era
- 1:46Speaker 2: of like I just worked on Uncomfortable, I was working
- 1:48Speaker 2: on the Arrow, and I was in like really deep
- 1:51Speaker 2: kind of music, like you know, very vulnerable and expressive,
- 1:56Speaker 2: and everything we were doing was a lot of fun.
- 1:59Speaker 2: So our boy Dell was he came up with the idea.
- 2:01Speaker 2: He pitched it to us.
- 2:02Speaker 1: We laughed the draft old school draft photo and.
- 2:04Speaker 2: We did the old school draft photos NBA, so it
- 2:07Speaker 2: was very like NBA themed and we just had fun
- 2:11Speaker 2: and it was like this is supposed to be like
- 2:12Speaker 2: a side project that just kind of held us over
- 2:16Speaker 2: and it was an outlet, ended up being the number
- 2:19Speaker 2: one independent album in the country. We ended up going
- 2:21Speaker 2: on tour, selling out a huge tour, and it became
- 2:26Speaker 2: like a fan favorite. Yeah, so our fans have ever
- 2:29Speaker 2: been asking like, when are you going to do part two?
- 2:30Speaker 2: And so we fine years. Yeah, so seventeen was the
- 2:33Speaker 2: last time.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So yeah, so what was the I guess, like, was
- 2:38Speaker 1: there something that happened to you, like, all right, it's time.
- 2:42Speaker 2: We had always said we wanted to do it, but
- 2:44Speaker 2: it was like I continued on with my career and
- 2:47Speaker 2: John was out and he was in Cali. So I
- 2:49Speaker 2: was in New York. He's in Cali. Then I moved
- 2:51Speaker 2: to Atlanta. So it was just hard to keep up
- 2:54Speaker 2: with it. So we would try to do like a
- 2:56Speaker 2: week you know, creative trip here and there, but you
- 2:59Speaker 2: just don't get enough momentum. You know, you do a week,
- 3:01Speaker 2: you get a song or two, then you don't see
- 3:04Speaker 2: each other for another three months. So I finally got
- 3:08Speaker 2: him to move. That was the catalyst. He moved out
- 3:10Speaker 2: to Atlanta where I'm at, and we've been locking in
- 3:13Speaker 2: the studio like what.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Saving all that rent money?
- 3:16Speaker 3: God? Yeah, and I had a kid too, so you pandemic. Yeah, yeah, pandemic,
- 3:22Speaker 3: family stuff, but moving and.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You were out here in LA.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I was in San Diego.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Oh even more expensive, Yeah, even.
- 3:29Speaker 3: More which is crazy. It is so I was, I
- 3:33Speaker 3: had the uh I had, I was. I was chained
- 3:36Speaker 3: to the beach, as they say. But what beach?
- 3:38Speaker 1: Which one?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Coronado Beach is my favorite?
- 3:40Speaker 1: I love it out there.
- 3:41Speaker 3: It's it's for tiring though.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I feel like San Diego is like what people because
- 3:47Speaker 1: you know, like people come to l A and they're like,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I want to go to the beach and I'm like,
- 3:51Speaker 1: why don't dre Yeah, yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 3: What you think you're getting in LA is actually in
- 3:55Speaker 3: San Diego.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah, like in San Diego, you want to go to
- 3:57Speaker 1: the beach, it.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Could just go stepping over bodies and yeah, but not so.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You were so what do you you were just in
- 4:08Speaker 1: San Diego?
- 4:09Speaker 3: Just I was in the navy, uh for for years.
- 4:15Speaker 3: And it was actually and.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Thank you for your service, thank you, thank me.
- 4:19Speaker 3: You don't have to thank me. Just enjoy your freedoms. Uh.
- 4:23Speaker 3: It was it was him actually we talked to me.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I was kind of at the do I make this
- 4:28Speaker 3: a career, because you know, if you do, you were
- 4:30Speaker 3: I'd be retired in four years. Big mistake. Should have
- 4:34Speaker 3: stayed in, but uh but no, No, he was the
- 4:37Speaker 3: one who actually spoke like talk to me, talk me
- 4:39Speaker 3: into getting out, you know, like you you could do
- 4:42Speaker 3: this six years, six years, six years.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, if you would have stayed in for ten full ten,
- 4:46Speaker 1: you'd have been retired.
- 4:48Speaker 2: No.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I was at the point where I could have re
- 4:51Speaker 3: upt for four more years, and then you hit ten years,
- 4:53Speaker 3: and then once you hit ten, it's like you're gonna
- 4:55Speaker 3: do another ten, you know, but that's fourteen yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 4:59Speaker 3: So it's kind of kind of.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Like what were you doing in the navy?
- 5:03Speaker 3: It was an engineering officer, so you were.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Like important like making sure that the ship was steered
- 5:11Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I stood over the people that were making over the
- 5:14Speaker 3: ship was steered with my hands on my hips, like,
- 5:17Speaker 3: hey guys, I'm here to sign anything you need. That
- 5:20Speaker 3: was the That was a signature.
- 5:21Speaker 1: That's if you needed to steer a boat. You could
- 5:23Speaker 1: steer a boat like a big boat, like a like
- 5:26Speaker 1: a cruise ship. If like you're on a cruise and
- 5:28Speaker 1: you guys are on some kind of fucking wrap cruise,
- 5:30Speaker 1: and yeah, I could I could say.
- 5:32Speaker 2: The captain dies John's taken over.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You could you could, you could get all you could
- 5:39Speaker 1: manage down there.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I could figure it out, Yeah yeah I could actually,
- 5:42Speaker 3: probably not.
- 5:43Speaker 2: All I see is the meme of the guy standing
- 5:46Speaker 2: in front of all the cables.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I could figure it out. Yeah, yeah that
- 5:53Speaker 3: would Yeah yeah I could. Actually, It's such a different life.
- 5:57Speaker 3: But yeah, it's funny you asked.
- 5:58Speaker 1: That the captain. I'm the captain now.
- 6:01Speaker 3: It's called the officer of the deck, the officer of
- 6:04Speaker 3: the deck, and I'm after the deck qualified.
- 6:06Speaker 1: So would you guys get down to Tijuana at all?
- 6:09Speaker 3: I would go to t J.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, would you go down there for like the food,
- 6:12Speaker 1: for the medicine.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Food medicine, uh crab. They got the best seafood, best
- 6:18Speaker 3: seafood in the world. I would argue, best seafood in
- 6:22Speaker 3: the world.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I would argue, have you've been too Absolutely.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Get the lobsters, rice beans, tequila chips.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They is like it's the mech I think in Mexico.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It's like the lost Yeah right, right, right right, And
- 6:39Speaker 1: it's forty minutes from TJ.
- 6:41Speaker 3: And I'm sure it's six bucks yeah yeah, I mean yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 3: I mean for twenty bucks we're all everyone in this room.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Every time I go to every time I go to Mexico,
- 6:52Speaker 1: the spread I get, Yeah, man, it's so fat, it's
- 6:55Speaker 1: but it's just savice, fish oysters, and I'm just me,
- 7:01Speaker 1: yeah man, And it's I won't eat for like a
- 7:04Speaker 1: day and a half if I know I'm going to TJ.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And it's a day trip, which makes it even better.
- 7:08Speaker 3: You're back in your bed that night. Yeah, it's that there,
- 7:13Speaker 3: miss the proximity.
- 7:14Speaker 2: A prominent rapper, a friend of mine, he moved to Mexico.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Oh, I mean that's a little different. King Little G
- 7:22Speaker 1: moved there. But I don't even know if you know
- 7:23Speaker 1: who that is. No, I don't know that different worlds.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Well, every time I call him at beeps, you know
- 7:29Speaker 2: how you know something else is h He's somewhere else
- 7:33Speaker 2: you want.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It would be an interesting place to move. I know
- 7:35Speaker 1: a couple of DJs who moved there. Who DJ in
- 7:37Speaker 1: San Diego.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we thought about it. My wife and I considered it.
- 7:39Speaker 3: She's a painter too, so we could have gotten a
- 7:42Speaker 3: nice space.
- 7:43Speaker 1: People don't understand like it is, like I understand, like
- 7:46Speaker 1: there's like this narrative about it being like cartel land,
- 7:49Speaker 1: but like it's a fucking real city.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Well that and I mean the cartel wants the money
- 7:54Speaker 3: there too, they don't want to Yeah, so it's like, yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 3: bring those dollars over here so he could keep operating,
- 8:00Speaker 3: it's for sure.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So you guys decided to do part two. Yeah, you're
- 8:04Speaker 1: both in Atlanta working on this together.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Yeah, how what was the I guess how long? From
- 8:10Speaker 1: how long was the recording process?
- 8:13Speaker 2: It's been two years of recording basically twenty four we started, yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 2: going for it.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah, even even earlier, but I would say like those
- 8:22Speaker 3: are like test run yeah yeah, with a target in mind.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Probably two years yeah, with it like.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Because we just dropped a song called Turbo and the
- 8:29Speaker 2: girl who did the chorus, she just posted pictures like,
- 8:32Speaker 2: oh I remember this session and it was twenty twenty four,
- 8:35Speaker 2: so a lot of this it's it's uh, it was
- 8:37Speaker 2: like a side project. You work on it for a
- 8:39Speaker 2: little bit, come, go away, come back.
- 8:42Speaker 3: So it was it kind of.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Crazy to see him catch the coming in hot record.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that song, but he wrote on it. He's got
- 8:49Speaker 2: writing credit on it.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I mean obviously crazy for your pocket soon changed my
- 8:52Speaker 3: life one right, and I don't have a big slice
- 8:55Speaker 3: of that record, but even my slice, it changed my it's.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Got to be gold, right them it's platinum.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah, fucking crazy man, unbelievable. It's still being used to
- 9:04Speaker 1: this day on Mike Stop. It won't ever. It's like
- 9:07Speaker 1: it's like a social media song that will never die.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Yeah, And you know.
- 9:11Speaker 2: What, every time I go to live events, they're playing
- 9:13Speaker 2: it to go to basketball football playing there. So it's
- 9:17Speaker 2: kind of become a staple for like, uh sports sports music.
- 9:22Speaker 3: At least once a month, I think I get an
- 9:24Speaker 3: email about some sink or some like little check, some
- 9:28Speaker 3: little some little walking around money.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Definitely a sink.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Sink friendly.
- 9:34Speaker 1: All right, another podcast brought to you by odd Socks.

- 11:02Speaker 1: some money and get some socks. Man, Thank me later.
- 11:05Speaker 1: What made you guys want to go with the tag
- 11:07Speaker 1: team wrestling theme of this project as opposed to sticking
- 11:11Speaker 1: with the OLA.
- 11:13Speaker 2: So I had started working with Conductor a little bit.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Him and I were conductorkick and I was working with
- 11:23Speaker 2: him some and you know, he's like, he's telling me
- 11:25Speaker 2: his process that he's like putting everything on VHS tapes,
- 11:28Speaker 2: that's how he gets that wobble. Yeah, And I was
- 11:32Speaker 2: it inspired me. I was like, oh man, I really
- 11:34Speaker 2: want to get back into having VHS tapes in the studio.
- 11:37Speaker 2: So I bought like a little TV that had the
- 11:40Speaker 2: VHS attachment on the bottom, and I just started ordering
- 11:43Speaker 2: stuff I liked from my childhood. So I started getting
- 11:45Speaker 2: old wrestling vhs. So we'd be in the studio and
- 11:48Speaker 2: I'd be playing that just in the background for like
- 11:50Speaker 2: vibes or whatever, and John and I we'd be like
- 11:53Speaker 2: working and just stop and be like, oh my, like
- 11:57Speaker 2: having these moments, these memories of like Stone Cold at a
- 12:00Speaker 2: Rock or HBK or whoever, and we just start dying
- 12:03Speaker 2: laughing and watch them cut their promos. And it kind
- 12:07Speaker 2: of was just a muse for a while. And we
- 12:09Speaker 2: were talking about it, and we were we were just
- 12:11Speaker 2: saying to ourselves, pro wrestling is like the blueprint for
- 12:16Speaker 2: entertaining people.
- 12:17Speaker 1: For sure. It's the most entertaining ever. Its wrestling is
- 12:23Speaker 1: soap opera, the soap opera with physical activity. It's it's
- 12:27Speaker 1: the greatest art form in the world. I wrestling. It's
- 12:30Speaker 1: the highest art form with the most craziest level of difficulty.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I don't give anybody says put your body on the line.
- 12:37Speaker 2: And what's so funny is the thing about pro wrestling
- 12:44Speaker 2: is sometimes the stories don't even really make sense, but
- 12:46Speaker 2: they're not even really that good. It's like, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 2: we we started dying. I mean, we started dying laughing being.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Like Undertaker, I'll see you once I rise from Hell
- 12:59Speaker 4: and I'll fight you in Cincinnati for the Intercontinental titles.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Like so you came from Hell a fight in Cincinnati, Yeah, Like.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Like, wait, your brother's name is Kane and he was
- 13:11Speaker 1: supposed to have died in a fire as a child.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Now held now he's an ipsilente fighting you for the
- 13:18Speaker 2: tag team title. Yeah, I mean, it's just absurd.
- 13:21Speaker 3: And everything we love about hip hop we saw in
- 13:26Speaker 3: wrestling outfits, over the top people, personality, elite ship talkers,
- 13:33Speaker 3: you know, like cutting promos and it was like Oh,
- 13:36Speaker 3: this is what rappers do, Like the best rappers do this.
- 13:39Speaker 3: These guys are doing hip hop. These guys are doing
- 13:42Speaker 3: on a Sunday night, They're doing it every night.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And I was like talking, I mean, you think you
- 13:46Speaker 2: think ghost Face with a with a gold forearm piece,
- 13:49Speaker 2: that wrestler, that's pro wrestling, you're pro wrestling, giant fucking robe. Yeah,
- 13:56Speaker 2: I mean that's Rick Flair. So it just became a
- 13:59Speaker 2: mused for So we were like, what if our whole
- 14:01Speaker 2: next rollout was themed around pro wrestling? And we were like, well,
- 14:05Speaker 2: the first one was NBA, you know, NBA funny NBA stuff.
- 14:10Speaker 2: What if this one was tag team wrestling?
- 14:11Speaker 3: And we initially we were like, oh, that's a layup.
- 14:14Speaker 3: It's the Dudley Boys, Like.
- 14:17Speaker 1: We were like Warriors.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and then we're like, what's zanier than that?
- 14:21Speaker 3: You know?
- 14:22Speaker 1: And then you cut the hair.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we cut the blends. He came and cut both
- 14:27Speaker 2: of us to make sure.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Full Road to have the Road Warriors seen your guys's homage.
- 14:32Speaker 2: To them, I hope not, because we.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Have their face paint copyrighted.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah right, yeah, and we don't know, so you might
- 14:40Speaker 2: want to snip this out.
- 14:42Speaker 1: But they do. I think the only rest of the
- 14:44Speaker 1: face paining copyrighted is Dan Housen, who helped the Knicks
- 14:46Speaker 1: win a championship. Really he had cursed the Knicks.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, how so, now's it? Yeah, that's why he was
- 14:52Speaker 2: on the the finals.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah, he had cursed him.
- 14:57Speaker 2: He uncursed them.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 1: After he uncursed them, they wanted to feed he uncursed them. Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 1: he curses people, and he said cursed and they until
- 15:06Speaker 1: the Trump game, right.
- 15:08Speaker 2: We lost the Trump brought an L the garden.
- 15:12Speaker 1: And wow at half times?
- 15:18Speaker 3: Wu tang did they have to bring in the heavy equipment?
- 15:23Speaker 2: Speaking of I just saw the Method Man wrestling shirt.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I got a DX Method Man.
- 15:30Speaker 2: What that's got to be the grail? Is that? Is
- 15:35Speaker 2: that an x L?
- 15:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 15:37Speaker 1: Damn? I have a lot of Here's.
- 15:38Speaker 2: The question, what do I need to trade you? Because
- 15:42Speaker 2: I got a lot of heat.
- 15:44Speaker 1: You have wrestling shirts.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I have an unprecedent amount of vintage wrestling shirts.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Send me some, send me some photos that we could
- 15:51Speaker 1: just we could do some business.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Who do you like?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Everybody? Everybody, okay, everybody except Goldberg in the Ultimate Warrior.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I do have a good Goldberg shirt.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I want nothing to do goodie. I'm not a Goldberg guy.
- 16:05Speaker 3: He didn't know about his reputation until.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he heard a lot of people.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I did not know he was dangerous. He's like and
- 16:16Speaker 3: he's like still in shape and walking around.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Saw him in the airport one.
- 16:19Speaker 1: He also seems to kind of be like a dickhead.
- 16:21Speaker 2: But I don't know. I've Yeah, he was nice, I've
- 16:24Speaker 2: never met. I think he just was a little ambitious.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Did you hear about the match the one what was
- 16:28Speaker 2: the matter? Watched bashed his head against the wall trying
- 16:32Speaker 2: to get back into it and knocked himself out.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the Undertaker, and then and he hurts the other.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Guy, Oh, Bill Goldberg.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Billy Billy g all right, so you guys end up
- 16:47Speaker 1: coming together. So the other idea was the Dudley.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Brothers, the Dudley Boys, Yeah right, get.
- 16:54Speaker 1: The glasses layup.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Instead, I ended up contract contracting a guy that's specially
- 17:00Speaker 2: make shoulder pads.
- 17:01Speaker 3: With the hard way.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you can't find those. I found a guy
- 17:06Speaker 2: on Etsy ended up becoming a good friend.
- 17:10Speaker 1: He made the shoulder pads, made.
- 17:11Speaker 2: The shoulder pads, the forums, everything, and apparently he has
- 17:16Speaker 2: like a whole business around it. This guy custom has.
- 17:18Speaker 1: A whole business around making road Royers costume.
- 17:21Speaker 2: No around around like customizing.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Stuff like for like LARPers and and uh what is it?
- 17:28Speaker 2: NERF like? He customizes people's nerve like.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Guns like Airsoft, but it's NERF like he makes customized
- 17:35Speaker 3: like NERF guns.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Stor just al the nerd, Al the geek.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I'm sorry, just buy a NERF gun to.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Yeah, Extendo switch da is going to be a raid
- 17:53Speaker 3: your house?
- 17:53Speaker 1: How do you make a million dores? Is your I
- 17:54Speaker 1: sold switches for.
- 17:57Speaker 3: It?
- 17:57Speaker 2: Really it looks like that.
- 17:58Speaker 1: What are your thoughts? Andy? There seems to have been
- 18:01Speaker 1: like a a bit of a spike in quote unquote
- 18:07Speaker 1: Christian rap popping recently, Like a guy like Miles Minnick
- 18:12Speaker 1: is doing really well, he's doing good. What are your
- 18:15Speaker 1: thoughts on just kind of like that. It's I feel
- 18:18Speaker 1: like that. See I feel like you're in the scene,
- 18:19Speaker 1: but you're not in the scene because you're kind of
- 18:21Speaker 1: you're just happened to be. I feel like you're just
- 18:22Speaker 1: a rapper just happens to be a man of God
- 18:24Speaker 1: as opposed to like championing that as like a subgenre,
- 18:29Speaker 1: but as a subgenre, it seems to be in a
- 18:31Speaker 1: place that you know is really cracking right now.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I mean I feel like the internet is
- 18:39Speaker 2: such a different place now even than it was five
- 18:41Speaker 2: years ago. And the Internet is where we've all you know,
- 18:44Speaker 2: made our made our moves, right, you know, because everything's
- 18:48Speaker 2: not going through the major outlets and platforms like it
- 18:52Speaker 2: used to as much like legacy media. So he he
- 18:57Speaker 2: has a real uh fan base and community out here
- 19:00Speaker 2: in San Francis. Got glow Fest and yeah, he's got
- 19:05Speaker 2: a festival. He's got a church he's a part of.
- 19:08Speaker 2: He's got like real commune and they really support him
- 19:11Speaker 2: and for their they go hard. Man, He's figured it
- 19:17Speaker 2: out there, and I think he's gotten with a good
- 19:20Speaker 2: manager that's helping push him. He's doing the right collabse
- 19:23Speaker 2: you know what I mean, did a whole record with Lacraze.
- 19:26Speaker 2: So he's figuring it out. And I don't know, man,
- 19:29Speaker 2: I just feel like I don't know if the genre
- 19:33Speaker 2: as a hole is elevating or if just certain people
- 19:35Speaker 2: are having their moments.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Like John keith Is had a record at radio that
- 19:40Speaker 1: was pretty dope.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, well because more people stepped in. So Dark Child
- 19:46Speaker 2: started a label and signed a bunch of people, and
- 19:48Speaker 2: so now he's really trying to push that.
- 19:51Speaker 3: So a lot of those guys that are rolling loud
- 19:53Speaker 3: the last couple of years.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think what's happening is because it's it's a
- 20:01Speaker 2: legitimate fan base and it's making money. These other places
- 20:05Speaker 2: are just gone, We'll open up space.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Yeah, we want people to come.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they want people.
- 20:09Speaker 1: If you'll bring people that want come otherwise, come on,
- 20:11Speaker 1: come on.
- 20:12Speaker 2: So and that's always kind of been the case with us,
- 20:15Speaker 2: is like when you have undeniable numbers, people end up
- 20:17Speaker 2: being like, we got to make some space.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Explain your I swear this is not an Andre three
- 20:21Speaker 1: thousand disc song song, and.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Tell him about your dis song.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Did you get to watch the video?
- 20:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched you when it first came out.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Why why don't you tell me what you think I
- 20:36Speaker 2: mean for you? I loved that. It was one of
- 20:38Speaker 2: my favorite campaigns.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Because it was more about like the fact he dropped
- 20:42Speaker 1: the Flute album right and you wanted to hear his perspective.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I feel like the thing about the Andre thing is
- 20:48Speaker 1: like I feel like he kind of I think he
- 20:52Speaker 1: I think he said in an interview that like he
- 20:54Speaker 1: doesn't know what he's supposed to rap about the people
- 20:56Speaker 1: are going to relate to, and it's like, well, that's right,
- 20:58Speaker 1: that's the relatable shit. Because all your fans are like,
- 21:02Speaker 1: I'm thirty nine, bro, Like I want to hear you rap.
- 21:05Speaker 2: About what life is like now.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Shout out to our brothers at hard Dean man OTTs family.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Of course, they've been sponsoring the podcast for years now.
- 21:13Speaker 1: You've been seeing the mic flag for years now. Want
- 21:15Speaker 1: to give a shout out to our brothers. I just
- 21:17Speaker 1: was in Vegas. I had to pull up all right. Look,
- 21:19Speaker 1: it's the number one dispensary in the world. When I
- 21:22Speaker 1: tell you, you walk in that thing and the BUTD tenders
- 21:25Speaker 1: are great. They take care of you immediately. The selection
- 21:28Speaker 1: is great. So when you go to Vegas, you get
- 21:30Speaker 1: into that cab, you get into that uber immediately say
- 21:32Speaker 1: take me to Hardean. Don't know what they're doing, all right,
- 21:35Speaker 1: they go get you right, all right, the number one
- 21:36Speaker 1: premium cannabis dispensary in the world. They just got me right.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I was just in town for a raffie's birthday. Had
- 21:42Speaker 1: to pull up, get right, this nice little one to
- 21:45Speaker 1: one Hardean Jersey. These are not available. All right, shout
- 21:49Speaker 1: out to them man, all right, salute to the family.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Follow him on Instagram. Hardean Underscore Las Vegas. All right,
- 21:54Speaker 1: let's get back to the podcast.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Well, I I it wasn't necessarily it was more of
- 21:59Speaker 2: a macro And basically I wrote a record that said
- 22:03Speaker 2: this is non Andre three thousand dis song. We did
- 22:06Speaker 2: a whole campaign for it, which I thought was brilliant.
- 22:08Speaker 2: We made these signs that said that with the QR code,
- 22:11Speaker 2: and they were sitting in a pot of flowers, and
- 22:13Speaker 2: I put them out all throughout Atlanta, his home, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 2: And in a lot of ways, that record is about
- 22:20Speaker 2: giving him his flowers and saying, I've been a fan
- 22:23Speaker 2: of yours for so long. I love your music. You've
- 22:26Speaker 2: inspired me so much, and I was frustrated that when
- 22:30Speaker 2: you returned, you returned doing something completely different. But as
- 22:34Speaker 2: you listen to the record, it ultimately ends up saying,
- 22:37Speaker 2: but of course you would do that, because that's what
- 22:39Speaker 2: you've always done. You've zigged and everyone zagged, right, you
- 22:44Speaker 2: did the right, That's what you did. And then it
- 22:46Speaker 2: turns into a question of, well, if you walked away
- 22:49Speaker 2: from rap at some point, and you're like, my favorite rapper,
- 22:53Speaker 2: does that mean eventually I have to? And so the
- 22:56Speaker 2: question is more it it. It looks like a dis
- 22:59Speaker 2: song from the outside, but the deeper you get into
- 23:01Speaker 2: the record, the more you realize I'm just kind of
- 23:04Speaker 2: thinking about how this results with me. So at the
- 23:06Speaker 2: end of the music video, I'm looking at myself in
- 23:10Speaker 2: the mirror. So it's one of my favorite pieces of
- 23:14Speaker 2: art that I've ever made. I think it's important. I
- 23:16Speaker 2: had a lot of people DM me after, you know,
- 23:19Speaker 2: tde artists and stuff, just being like this was I
- 23:22Speaker 2: needed this, you know what I mean, and just I
- 23:26Speaker 2: don't know, it's connected with people. There's a lot if
- 23:28Speaker 2: you ever read the comments, it's like why am I crying?
- 23:31Speaker 2: You know, like in the comments because I think people
- 23:33Speaker 2: relate to that feeling of am I washed up? Is
- 23:36Speaker 2: my time over?
- 23:37Speaker 3: You know?
- 23:37Speaker 2: Have I reached a point where I can no longer
- 23:39Speaker 2: make this art form or do this thing I loved?
- 23:42Speaker 2: So that's more what the record is about. And he's
- 23:45Speaker 2: kind of the muse of it. But it never meant
- 23:47Speaker 2: to disrespect.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And it makes sense like in terms of like like
- 23:50Speaker 1: you said, like the correlation if this is one of
- 23:54Speaker 1: your favorite artists of all time, and he got to
- 23:55Speaker 1: a point.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Where he's like, I shouldn't do this anymore.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Wouldn't When, if ever, could you get to that point?
- 24:02Speaker 3: Right?
- 24:03Speaker 1: And do you feel like you've ever thought about that?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Like I mean, I do you know what I mean?
- 24:08Speaker 2: It's like I saw a gray hair comeing in the
- 24:10Speaker 2: beard and you start going, whoa, right, you start going
- 24:14Speaker 2: like hold on, uh, you know, you pluck those out
- 24:17Speaker 2: and you keep it moving. But it's like father Time's undefeated,
- 24:20Speaker 2: and you have to start asking yourself, am I looking crazy?
- 24:25Speaker 1: You know?
- 24:25Speaker 2: If I want to step out like do I look nuts?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Or am I evolving in such a way that is
- 24:32Speaker 2: like still true to who I am and relatable? And
- 24:35Speaker 2: do people want this? Because it's weird? You make art
- 24:38Speaker 2: for a living, but also you entertain people for a living.
- 24:42Speaker 3: And there also isn't much data for rappers to like past,
- 24:47Speaker 3: there's not many legacy yet.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Yeah, like this is the first era of us seeing
- 24:53Speaker 1: like forty these old school rap festivals where it's like,
- 24:56Speaker 1: oh shit, there's like fucking you know, there's rock kim Yeah.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, classic rock has had years of that well, and
- 25:03Speaker 3: then they turned into classic rock stations and now they're.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Classic hip hop stations. Yea, yeah, there's a lot of
- 25:09Speaker 1: classic hip hop.
- 25:10Speaker 3: It seems like it's it's panning out. I think it's
- 25:13Speaker 3: panning out. But still there's not a lot of so yeah, those.
- 25:15Speaker 1: There's not like a lot of proof of concept of
- 25:18Speaker 1: like guys wrapping in their sixties and yeah, we'll see
- 25:20Speaker 1: jay Z is about to probably put out some new music.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and he's going to be close to sixty.
- 25:26Speaker 2: He's fifty eight to fifty seven?
- 25:28Speaker 1: Is he fifty eight?
- 25:29Speaker 2: I think he's in the second half of the fifties.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Oh fuck yeah, Nas Nas is breaking the mid fist rhymes.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Has got to be up there. Fat Joe's got to
- 25:38Speaker 1: be up there. Yea.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Guys, I think you know Joe's agent gracefully because.
- 25:43Speaker 3: He's like Jada looks amazing.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah, they look awesome. They're having a good time and
- 25:47Speaker 2: they're doing what you're walking from og like you want
- 25:50Speaker 2: them sitting around telling stories, talking, being.
- 25:52Speaker 3: A part of the call, popping out and doing good
- 25:54Speaker 3: music too.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you know the new Fat Roe sign that just
- 25:57Speaker 1: dropped his fire. Jay Z's fifty sixty.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, sorry, I gave you a couple of Extrahoe sorry,
- 26:04Speaker 2: fifty six.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Fat Joe's fifty five.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Wow, Yeah, they're right there.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Wow, I'm gonna I'm willing to think Buster Rhyme's got
- 26:12Speaker 1: to be closer to sixty than any either of them. No,
- 26:14Speaker 1: I think he's young now fifty four.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Let's say it's a couple of years under the how right.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I don't know why, for some reason how the Bust
- 26:21Speaker 1: was older leaders.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Is anyone in clips in their fifties?
- 26:24Speaker 2: I don't think Oh, actually yeah malice gi Yeah, whoa malice?
- 26:29Speaker 1: I think malice is around. Uh, let's see fifty two,
- 26:34Speaker 1: fifty three, Wow, fifty three.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I mean they were really good. Example, they were the
- 26:40Speaker 3: most for me when I saw that roll out in
- 26:42Speaker 3: that release.
- 26:43Speaker 1: And they have the best album last year mind Yeah.
- 26:45Speaker 1: And they were both old old bros.
- 26:47Speaker 3: You know, they kind of kind of re informed the
- 26:51Speaker 3: zeitgeist of what you needed to look like and sound
- 26:54Speaker 3: like right now. So I was like, we're good, got
- 26:56Speaker 3: plenty of times, we're good, You've got twenty years. Let's
- 26:59Speaker 3: keep go.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Do you guys think you're going to take another nine
- 27:01Speaker 1: years to do another project?
- 27:03Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 27:04Speaker 1: Nah.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Now that we live in the same city, I think
- 27:06Speaker 2: it's like we we already have records for the next
- 27:10Speaker 2: one that we couldn't finish, and it's.
- 27:12Speaker 3: A proximity thing. I think there's so much we got done.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Like he'll come to the to the to the studio
- 27:17Speaker 2: and I'll you know, I'll be in the house because
- 27:21Speaker 2: the studio is attached to the house, and I'll be
- 27:23Speaker 2: like finishing a meal or something. I come back and
- 27:25Speaker 2: he's already got something pulled up. He started a new idea,
- 27:28Speaker 2: and then I'll sit I'm like, oh, hold on, let
- 27:30Speaker 2: me throw somethe this And in twenty minutes we're like, oh,
- 27:33Speaker 2: we got a new idea. I was like, we have
- 27:34Speaker 2: to stop, like the ideas, actually, don't slow up. We
- 27:38Speaker 2: had this. We had to stop creating ideas to finish
- 27:41Speaker 2: the other ones, to put out this album. So I
- 27:44Speaker 2: actually think we'll be out keep making stuff. And we're
- 27:49Speaker 2: dropping twenty songs, so it amount. It's a good amount.
- 27:53Speaker 2: I think like fifteen of them are records.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Because you would send me like a cartoon art. Is
- 27:59Speaker 1: that the or is it.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Which one that I send you with the shoulder pads?
- 28:03Speaker 1: Yeah? Well no, you sent me like a flyer and
- 28:06Speaker 1: it looked like one of them.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Vined you said, that's for the event. That's for the event,
- 28:10Speaker 2: that's for the event.
- 28:10Speaker 3: It's probably the one that Saturday here.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, because we had Freako Rico, the one you know,
- 28:16Speaker 2: you know Freak Rico.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I just know Uncle Rico from he.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Did the he did the cover, he did the Action
- 28:21Speaker 2: Bronson's cover Mister Wonderful with him on the front doing
- 28:25Speaker 2: a split. That's the same guy. So he's from Atlanta, right,
- 28:29Speaker 2: You see the cards, So that's the album cover. Uh,
- 28:34Speaker 2: it's pretty.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Good, you guys. Are those are off of Etsy? Huh?
- 28:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, don't tell nobody.
- 28:41Speaker 1: What's his name? Al the Geek now the geek crazy?
- 28:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he killed it.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Any features on the album.
- 28:50Speaker 2: We got Paul Wall on there. Wow, the People's Champ,
- 28:55Speaker 2: the Poe Poet, Paul Wallris poet.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:59Speaker 2: So we're going to Houston Sunday and he was gonna
- 29:01Speaker 2: be at the He's he can't be at the event
- 29:03Speaker 2: unfortunately because he's booked up somewhere else. But we got
- 29:07Speaker 2: him on a record and that's it. We got Jake
- 29:10Speaker 2: One producing on there. We got Beam doing a little
- 29:15Speaker 2: bit of stuff on the first song, dog Pit, and
- 29:18Speaker 2: then a lot of the stuff was in house. Yeah,
- 29:20Speaker 2: so we got Blicky Blaine over there. Brother Blaine.
- 29:24Speaker 1: He looks like you guys got him at a Walmart.
- 29:26Speaker 2: In eastern Kentucky, which is exactly the aesthetic he's in at.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Blaine looks like he should have a Monster energy drink
- 29:34Speaker 2: in his hand at all times.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Hey, by the way, yeah, yeah, yeah you can. But
- 29:41Speaker 2: he's off a Monster now. Now he's on the freaky
- 29:44Speaker 2: other freaky the energy drinks bucked up. Yeah, he'll show
- 29:49Speaker 2: the streak.
- 29:49Speaker 3: That bucked up at the studio.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Get bucked up A good goat.
- 29:54Speaker 1: They got this energy drink called Ghost fucking it. Fucks
- 29:57Speaker 1: man oh man, so good.
- 29:59Speaker 2: I just yeah, I'm not gonna say anything about Ghosts
- 30:01Speaker 2: sponsor us, but.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Monster we're working on a sponsorships.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, Ghost is the one. Monster is the
- 30:09Speaker 2: one in house. We finally got the team that we
- 30:13Speaker 2: needed to finish records with Blaine. Johnny Clay over there,
- 30:16Speaker 2: he's doing all the visuals, music videos.
- 30:19Speaker 1: So everybody's in Atlanta.
- 30:21Speaker 3: We're on Atlanta.
- 30:24Speaker 2: So I feel like we finally got the team locked in.
- 30:26Speaker 2: It's we're exposed Atlanta for a minute, right since the
- 30:30Speaker 2: pandemic we moved out of New York and the pandemic
- 30:32Speaker 2: and stay there. I do at times things about it,
- 30:37Speaker 2: but my life as a whole I appreciate more in
- 30:41Speaker 2: Atlanta right now, just because I have a kid. Now
- 30:45Speaker 2: have a driveway. What's that? Uh, a driveway. I have
- 30:50Speaker 2: washer and dryer in my house. I don't have to
- 30:53Speaker 2: carry my underwear through the street.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Like, just life is easier and I'm only two hours away,
- 31:01Speaker 2: so I pop up when i need to get stuff done.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:04Speaker 2: See family.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Nick Sparraid was today.
- 31:08Speaker 3: We were watching this morning. We have friends fly out
- 31:11Speaker 3: streaming it in.
- 31:12Speaker 1: The Did you see zero on on? Donnie's speech? One
- 31:16Speaker 1: of the greatest speeches ever given and it was all
- 31:18Speaker 1: about the Knicks. It was so impressive. Wow, he delivered
- 31:21Speaker 1: like ten minutes of just bars. Really, it was insane.
- 31:25Speaker 3: We came on right after it. Bro, We saw Mike,
- 31:27Speaker 3: we saw Breen.
- 31:28Speaker 1: He did so well. James Dolan was so pissed after
- 31:33Speaker 1: he went up, Hey, guys, I'm not I'm not trying
- 31:35Speaker 1: to get your vote, so I don't got a spiel
- 31:37Speaker 1: for you guys. I'm like, oh yeah, because he Bro
- 31:44Speaker 1: he had he was.
- 31:45Speaker 3: This guy, this guy stole the show. It was crazy.
- 31:48Speaker 1: It was like I was like, I run through.
- 31:49Speaker 3: A wall for this. He's running for president in that speech.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Unfortunately he was born in Africa.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Really, oh you can't, that's right, he was born in Uganda. Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 2: you gotta be bored here the fifty Yeah yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Man, yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah. It is what it is?
- 32:08Speaker 1: Uh you is there any downside about the South like that?
- 32:12Speaker 4: That?
- 32:13Speaker 1: Just the South is so interesting. The drive.
- 32:14Speaker 2: People can't drive and it is awful. Every everywhere you go.
- 32:18Speaker 2: People are like, oh, the traffic in Atlanta sucks. I
- 32:22Speaker 2: was like, no, there's an accident every day because people
- 32:25Speaker 2: don't want to drive. So that's really what slows you up.
- 32:29Speaker 2: A lot of Nissan Ultima is floating around and you know,
- 32:32Speaker 2: just dear clear.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Well, you know the thing about the Ultima, they say
- 32:35Speaker 1: that's scoring baby Mama car.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, scoring baby Mama drug dealer car.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Is not every Ultima, but it's always an Ultimate, but
- 32:43Speaker 3: it's what they say.
- 32:44Speaker 1: And then you got to watch out for the christ
- 32:45Speaker 1: for three hundreds.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Oh almost got hit by one.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Almost got here and John looked up he goes cars
- 32:50Speaker 2: three have a weed dealer car from twenty ten. Yeah,
- 32:54Speaker 2: that's right. Yeah, because you couldn't afford the.

- 33:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 1: And the Dodge Magnum Magnum Yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 3: A modern station wagon, yeah, I have one.
- 33:08Speaker 2: You know what transmission.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Modern station Dodge went for it.
- 33:13Speaker 2: I would do a Mercedes station Wagon all day, or
- 33:16Speaker 2: Evolvo station Wagon.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I would do the Wood one Wood Grand whatever that fucking.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Yeah, like a National Lampoons Christmas dope sticks argument. You
- 33:30Speaker 3: will not die in that thing. Anything could hit you.
- 33:32Speaker 3: You're gonna be flying.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Shout out to Raffi Law Group, our family. Yes, it's
- 33:37Speaker 1: been so dope to partner with, you know, such a
- 33:39Speaker 1: name and brand and somebody who actually am a customer
- 33:43Speaker 1: of Shout out to Raffi Law Group, man Arizona's premier
- 33:46Speaker 1: personal injury law firm. And I don't just put my
- 33:49Speaker 1: name on anybody when we do this stuff on the
- 33:52Speaker 1: Bootleg cap podcast, and you see it's partner with brands.
- 33:55Speaker 1: We're very selective about who we connect with. And Raffi
- 33:58Speaker 1: is someone who's actually helped my family, helped my wife
- 34:01Speaker 1: get a settlement, all right, has helped over seventy thousand
- 34:05Speaker 1: people in Arizona. No matter what happens, man, car accident, crash, injury,
- 34:10Speaker 1: you maybe get bit by a dog, I don't know,
- 34:12Speaker 1: whatever it is. Raffi Law Group makes the process less stressful.
- 34:17Speaker 1: They put money in your pocket. Yes, the name you
- 34:20Speaker 1: can trust. You already know, man, Raffi Law Group. Save

- 34:32Speaker 1: to wish a big happy birthday to Raffi's just celebrated

- 34:40Speaker 1: was there. E c Rock was there. It was a

- 35:00Speaker 1: the podcast. So the albums. When's the album come out?
- 35:03Speaker 2: June twenty sixth, So next next Friday, Next Friday.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Yes, Friday.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Uh, Paul Walls on It, Jake One Production, Broun, The
- 35:11Speaker 1: Couchronam Brother, Blaine Beam. Are you guys also working on
- 35:17Speaker 1: solo stuff?
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's next.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Yeah, what about you? Yeah, we're gonna have a lot
- 35:23Speaker 1: of albums. You've got like a lot of singles.
- 35:24Speaker 3: A lot of singles, a lot of like one off epis.
- 35:28Speaker 3: A friend called me the most reluctant rapper.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Who knows, what's that mean?
- 35:32Speaker 3: I just die. I don't know, man, I I need
- 35:36Speaker 3: to put out more music. To your point, yes, you're right.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Well you got comfortable because you got writing credits on
- 35:40Speaker 1: the Yeah, coming in hot.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Yeah, you're like, you know what.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Yeah, he was sitting in San Diego for a while.
- 35:46Speaker 2: He's not like, you know what, time to hustle him.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the problem with San Diego too, Man, you
- 35:50Speaker 3: get comfortable, get real comfortable city.
- 35:53Speaker 2: You call this guys steak on the on the beach.
- 35:57Speaker 1: You know, you know.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I also think there's certain artists who are like driven
- 36:04Speaker 2: in a in a particular way where they're like, I'm
- 36:05Speaker 2: gonna record at the house. You know what I'm saying.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna figure it out. I'm gonna put music out.
- 36:10Speaker 2: John is not that way. John is like put me in,
- 36:13Speaker 2: put me in a studio with other people, and then
- 36:16Speaker 2: all of a sudden he will crank out ten records.
- 36:19Speaker 2: But if you just leave him on his own, it's
- 36:20Speaker 2: not gonna have the same thing. With a friend of mine,
- 36:22Speaker 2: Foggy Raw, he was in Atlanta for a while. I
- 36:25Speaker 2: was like, bro, why don't you have more music? Like
- 36:28Speaker 2: He's like, well, studio sessions, and this is before he
- 36:32Speaker 2: got his deal and everything. You know, it's harder to
- 36:34Speaker 2: kind of line it up. I said, just record yourself.
- 36:36Speaker 2: He's like, nah, I can't do it. Champ, He's like,
- 36:39Speaker 2: I just it's kind of corny to me.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I was like, what do you mean by yourself? Yeah,
- 36:45Speaker 1: there's quite literally alone.
- 36:48Speaker 2: And he was like, I can't really explain it, but
- 36:50Speaker 2: he just he was like, you gotta be plugged in
- 36:53Speaker 2: a system.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Like that's me.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I gotta be in a Now that he's in Atlanta,
- 36:55Speaker 2: I feel like we got the studio, we got the
- 36:57Speaker 2: engine out, we got the system. He can work and
- 37:00Speaker 2: out of it and get a lot done.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Did you h you're still independent?
- 37:04Speaker 2: I just went independent last year. Okay, well I left
- 37:07Speaker 2: my Reach deal in twenty one after I finished that album,
- 37:10Speaker 2: and then I spent the last couple of years trying
- 37:12Speaker 2: to structure and build out minor league records and tapes,
- 37:14Speaker 2: which is what we're doing now.
- 37:15Speaker 1: God. God, So now you have your own not.
- 37:18Speaker 2: My own label. I'm distributed by STEM. STEM has been
- 37:23Speaker 2: good to me.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Because I was here. There's so many different dist I
- 37:27Speaker 1: got a couple of homies work with Stem. But obviously
- 37:29Speaker 1: there's like Empire, there's a foundation, there's fucking creators.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Right right, and you know what, all of them are
- 37:37Speaker 2: great when you have a hit song and they all
- 37:41Speaker 2: get the credit for it. So that's the thing is,
- 37:43Speaker 2: I don't really know if any of them are the
- 37:46Speaker 2: magic you know, the magic bullet. It's really do you
- 37:50Speaker 2: have momentum, do you have a good song? And if
- 37:52Speaker 2: you do, ken they amplify.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I just had this conversation. I was like, a company
- 37:54Speaker 1: like Empire is so good at setting shit on fire
- 37:58Speaker 1: that's already kind of on fire, but like they'll like
- 38:01Speaker 1: come through with the crazy gasoline, like you know, like
- 38:05Speaker 1: fucking this Phoenix Flexen songs on Empire. Oh yeah, yeah, no,
- 38:10Speaker 1: I heard it.
- 38:11Speaker 3: For the Just yesterday I heard the remix that was
- 38:14Speaker 3: actually my introduction to him, the French Montana. Oh yeah, uh, Max.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Let me see you in the porn My pockets getting thicker. Yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Number debut, number sixty six on.
- 38:26Speaker 3: The Hot one hundred, going to go number one now
- 38:28Speaker 3: that it's I think it's going to go number one.
- 38:31Speaker 1: But it's like, yeah, it's like they're like some of
- 38:32Speaker 1: these digital companies, like they have some infrastructure where it's like, oh,
- 38:35Speaker 1: when it starts to really get moving, they can stream you.
- 38:37Speaker 1: They got a radio apartment, they need it right, but
- 38:40Speaker 1: at the same time, they can't guarantee anything.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Well.
- 38:43Speaker 2: The great thing about this some Stem situation was they
- 38:47Speaker 2: gave me a really great rate and they said, let's
- 38:49Speaker 2: just do two years see how it goes. So I'm
- 38:51Speaker 2: not locked into any big thing. It's just like, let's
- 38:54Speaker 2: do it, let's see how it goes.
- 38:56Speaker 3: And two years goes by quick.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Two years is quick in this industry, bro, so uh,
- 39:01Speaker 2: and it's enough time for us to put these two
- 39:03Speaker 2: records out and see how they perform.
- 39:05Speaker 1: There it is, man, We'll go get the album on
- 39:07Speaker 1: the twenty six. You guys doing any hard copies.
- 39:10Speaker 2: We're working on a vinyl right now, so we should
- 39:12Speaker 2: be able to launch that day of the album and
- 39:14Speaker 2: then I don't know, we might do CDs and cassettes too, collective.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Wrestling match or some sort of appearance at some sort
- 39:23Speaker 1: of indie show before.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we gotta figure out some rex away.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Atlanta has a good indy scene too.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Which is there's House of Glory Wrestling. There's some indie
- 39:32Speaker 1: companies that go GCW. But some of them should be gnarly. Yeah,
- 39:36Speaker 1: like they'll be like smashing like leyon tubes over each
- 39:40Speaker 1: other's faces and ship.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I need that. I need to get in there smash.
- 39:43Speaker 3: You know you don't.
- 39:44Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 39:45Speaker 3: The light bulbs. I've seen the fluorescent bulbs.
- 39:48Speaker 1: That guy, the whole entire fucking matt will be filled
- 39:51Speaker 1: with broken fluorescent bulbs the whole match. People can body
- 39:54Speaker 1: sland their whole backs, cut up bloods everywhere.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Well, you know, Tripleacious season and goes.
- 40:02Speaker 1: A lot of those guys.
- 40:04Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, I mean hip hop and wrestling is like
- 40:07Speaker 2: so very very they're bringing people out now, they're bringing
- 40:11Speaker 2: all you know, Travis Scott, they're letting them. Yeah, I mean,
- 40:15Speaker 2: but they're they're trying to pull people.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Currently, Trick Williams, manager in w W like full Time,
- 40:21Speaker 1: signed a year deal with He's the ring manager. It's
- 40:25Speaker 1: every week.
- 40:25Speaker 3: That's pretty cool. It's cool seeing it received too, like
- 40:29Speaker 3: see like the fans even like Bad Bunny and Cy
- 40:35Speaker 3: went crazy.
- 40:36Speaker 2: My buddy Paul Walter Houser, the actor, he went and
- 40:38Speaker 2: did a little stint with was it t k O
- 40:40Speaker 2: the company right? Like the funnel company?
- 40:44Speaker 1: The main company?
- 40:45Speaker 2: No, what is the x T n XT? I think
- 40:48Speaker 2: that's it, like the funnel So he went and did.
- 40:50Speaker 2: He even used one of my records as like a
- 40:52Speaker 2: walkout song. He did that for a year.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Nobody's asked to use Coming in Hot as like a
- 41:00Speaker 1: their main walk Like that seems like the song you
- 41:02Speaker 1: walk out to.
- 41:03Speaker 2: That's a no brainer.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Coming in Yeah, bitch, they.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Need to be They need to be good.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Though, what is your biggest UK opportunity you've gotten off
- 41:11Speaker 1: that song? Is there been like a one that sticks out?
- 41:15Speaker 2: I mean McDonald's. It was kind of wild. They did
- 41:18Speaker 2: like a spicy uk uk in the UK. Uh A
- 41:24Speaker 2: lot hymns just happened?
- 41:26Speaker 1: Was a big one pizza hut?
- 41:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, coming in hot when you say pizza.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Hut, pizza hut, Yeah.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Pizza's coming anything anything hot?
- 41:36Speaker 3: Yeah, pizza hut. Goldfish Remember that fish.
- 41:40Speaker 2: They did a hot goldfish.
- 41:41Speaker 3: I don't know it was goldfish, which is kind of
- 41:46Speaker 3: it's all stuff I eat to.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Do you get? Do you work that in where you say, hey,
- 41:51Speaker 1: just McDonald's gift cards?
- 41:53Speaker 3: I wish you know what.
- 41:55Speaker 2: I started doing that towards the end when I started realizing.
- 41:58Speaker 3: I want McDonald's yeah, because I get the emails and
- 42:01Speaker 3: they're like, hey, this is the amount, yes or no?
- 42:02Speaker 3: And I'm like, should I just respond and be like, hey,
- 42:04Speaker 3: could you throw in ae hundred dollars gift card? Because
- 42:07Speaker 3: what is it to them?
- 42:08Speaker 1: Right?
- 42:08Speaker 3: Well?
- 42:08Speaker 2: I just got asked, Yeah, one hundred dollars gift card.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Poster syndrome that fifty bucks I get just like.
- 42:15Speaker 1: A free number four.
- 42:18Speaker 2: They're like one million dollars yea, Well, I just got
- 42:21Speaker 2: asked for Syracuse University where I grew. I grew up

- 42:28Speaker 2: so like, can we use okay, we back the new
- 42:30Speaker 2: record that I've had that's started to go viral with

- 42:39Speaker 2: for again.

- 42:41Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I was like straight up.
- 42:43Speaker 2: They were like, we gotta, I gotta put you in
- 42:46Speaker 2: touch with another person. They were like, if we can't
- 42:48Speaker 2: do courts, I can put you right behind the bench.
- 42:51Speaker 3: They're like, apparently Syracuse basketball games to demand.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:56Speaker 3: They were like, yeah, this is actually a big ask.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Yeah, so get fed man, that's right, squeaky wheel bro.

- 43:32Speaker 2: circling back and we got so much momentum hit them
- 43:35Speaker 2: with another magic.
- 43:36Speaker 1: We might probably already have a lot.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Of stuff unfinished ready to go, so we might do
- 43:40Speaker 2: a Fall Brawl.
- 43:41Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Halloween Havoc.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Halloween having Hollywood Havoc is this Saturday, This Saturday. So
