- 0:25Speaker 3: Thank you for being on the show. Look at how
- 0:28Speaker 3: are you? Where are you at the moment? You look
- 0:29Speaker 3: like you're in a soundproof room somewhere.
- 0:31Speaker 4: I'm in the studio in my house. I have a
- 0:32Speaker 4: little studio downstairs in the house. And yeah, I'm here
- 0:35Speaker 4: in London. So before the madness of it all starts,
- 0:39Speaker 4: this is my last my last chance for relaxing and oka.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Hi.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Well, we're very excited. Dinner Party is coming out on
- 0:46Speaker 3: June five. Catch me up. What's been happening. How's life?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Life is good?
- 0:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I've been obviously took a bit of time
- 0:56Speaker 4: last year. I spoke to you and I yeah, we've
- 1:01Speaker 4: just been kind of making the record and hanging out,
- 1:04Speaker 4: which is not kind of normally how I do it.
- 1:07Speaker 4: But I wanted to take a bit of time after
- 1:09Speaker 4: that last tour and the last record and stuff and
- 1:12Speaker 4: just relax and enjoy, you know, take in what I
- 1:16Speaker 4: did in twenty twenty four with that big tour and
- 1:18Speaker 4: the album and kind of make music as I plodded
- 1:22Speaker 4: my way through the year.
- 1:23Speaker 2: And here we are, we're back at it again.
- 1:25Speaker 4: I can't I genuinely can't wait this time, you know,
- 1:29Speaker 4: just to get back on the road and see.
- 1:32Speaker 2: The fans again and play and play the new stuff
- 1:35Speaker 2: because it's it's well.
- 1:36Speaker 4: And truly a live feeling album that needs to be
- 1:39Speaker 4: played nice.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Well.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I have had a chance to have a cup.
- 1:41Speaker 3: You sent it to a copy to me early, so
- 1:43Speaker 3: I do have some initial notes and feedback.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I'll give them to you while we play the new single.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It's all good. Don't stress, It's all good. What I
- 1:50Speaker 1: was going to say was, with.
- 1:52Speaker 3: All of the time off, how have you been rinsing
- 1:56Speaker 3: the pub underground at your house?
- 1:57Speaker 4: There?
- 1:58Speaker 1: You have a pub there? Now?
- 2:00Speaker 4: Yeah, there's It was a very bad idea, to be honest,
- 2:02Speaker 4: a the pub in the house. I always thought, like
- 2:04Speaker 4: you know, and at one point in my life, I
- 2:07Speaker 4: would love to have a pub in my house.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And it's actually just the worst idea ever.
- 2:10Speaker 4: It looks great, Yeah, it's a good thing to like
- 2:12Speaker 4: show people if they come over and they want to
- 2:14Speaker 4: see it.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but it can be dangerous too.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Sure, it's a noise complaint. You gotta have like a
- 2:20Speaker 3: responsible service of alcohol. You got, you gotta there's always
- 2:24Speaker 3: someone hanging around a little bit too long as I
- 2:26Speaker 3: go home, get out of my house.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Literally all of the above has happened.
- 2:31Speaker 4: So yeah, I know it's it's it's great, but it's
- 2:34Speaker 4: it's very dangerous and I regretted someone.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Now I'm going to say, we're about to play a
- 2:40Speaker 3: little more time, which you said I think is one
- 2:42Speaker 3: of your personal fabs from the record.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yes, Yeah, I just love.
- 2:45Speaker 4: The feeling that this song gives me. Like every I find,
- 2:49Speaker 4: every album has a song that makes you, as I
- 2:52Speaker 4: was saying, I was saying it to someone the other day,
- 2:53Speaker 4: like it could literally be released fall flattened its face
- 2:57Speaker 4: or be the biggest song world.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's changed my opinion on it.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Cool.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I just love the feeling it gave me when we
- 3:04Speaker 2: were writing it.
- 3:05Speaker 4: It gives me kind of kind of like nineties early
- 3:08Speaker 4: two thousands kind of nostalgia about which is a really
- 3:12Speaker 4: cool thing obviously, And it feels really live and it's
- 3:15Speaker 4: gonna be a great one to play live as well.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Boys are Fun. That's a personal favorite for me. That's
- 3:22Speaker 3: for me that's for me.
- 3:23Speaker 4: That song is kind of it's yeah, it's the You're
- 3:25Speaker 4: kind of the only one that's like doesn't tie in
- 3:28Speaker 4: with the rest.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Of the story, but it's but it's a it's a
- 3:32Speaker 2: good fun song, like.
- 3:33Speaker 1: A little cheeky. It's a little cheeky.
- 3:37Speaker 2: It's good. It's just good fun.
- 3:39Speaker 4: It's kind of had a yacht rock kind of feel
- 3:41Speaker 4: to it, and and we just kind of just wrote
- 3:44Speaker 4: it really quick and just we're all just getting up
- 3:46Speaker 4: and dancing and singing, and it just it felt like
- 3:48Speaker 4: a good vibe.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So there it is, okay, great.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Well.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Album is called Dinner Party June five. I feel like
- 3:54Speaker 3: you really are turning a page into the next chapter
- 3:57Speaker 3: of your life where you attend probably more dinner parties
- 3:59Speaker 3: these days than an actual nightclub parties.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yes, that's very true.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I honestly, last time I was in the nightclubs.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Too noisy, too noisy for me. I'm not gonna lie
- 4:09Speaker 3: to you. I much would rather just like a low
- 4:12Speaker 3: key dinner with some friends.
- 4:14Speaker 4: It's funny how that changes though, Like you know, I
- 4:17Speaker 4: used to just love, god like getting out as much
- 4:20Speaker 4: as I could, mad social itself, and I.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Just don't want to leave the house.
- 4:23Speaker 1: No, that's fine.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Everyone, everyone that knows me will tell you that.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Welcome to being an adult, Welcome to adulthood. Oh, it's
- 4:28Speaker 3: a pleasure to have you here. So much fun. You
- 4:31Speaker 3: you won't you won't regret a minute of it. You
- 4:32Speaker 3: won't regret minnting. Ah. Here are some dinner party table
- 4:35Speaker 3: chit chat related questions. Are you ready to go? Do
- 4:40Speaker 3: you smoke bomb? Or are usually the last to leave
- 4:43Speaker 3: a dinner party? If you were to attend one, smoke
- 4:45Speaker 3: bomb being the one where you just like evaporate, disappear
- 4:47Speaker 3: and you no one knows where didn't I go?
- 4:49Speaker 1: He was here and then he didn't, he was gone?
- 4:52Speaker 4: Yeah, usually the last, to be honest with you, our
- 4:55Speaker 4: somewhere in the middle, depending on how tired I am. Yeah, No,
- 4:59Speaker 4: I don't do the you know what they call it
- 5:02Speaker 4: the Irish goodbye.
- 5:03Speaker 1: That's right, the Irish goodbye. Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really get that because we're usually the
- 5:07Speaker 2: last leaves.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Okay, do you if you're going to a dinner party,
- 5:10Speaker 3: do you offer to do the dishes at the end?
- 5:12Speaker 3: But like you really secretly hope they say no, it's
- 5:14Speaker 3: just out of courtesy, Like I didn't even help the
- 5:16Speaker 3: clean up, hoping that they will say, no, I don't worry,
- 5:18Speaker 3: but thank god I didn't want to help anyway.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Oh no, I'm big on cleaning up as they go.
- 5:23Speaker 4: On the matter of where Okay, yeah, I hear when
- 5:26Speaker 4: people come to my house and yeah, do the very
- 5:28Speaker 4: thing you just said. So I'm wonder those people that
- 5:31Speaker 4: I'm helping as I go. Yeah, I'm a bit of
- 5:33Speaker 4: a clean freak that have love that.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Now, if someone asks you to bring something, bring a plate.
- 5:39Speaker 3: We would say here in Australia, bring a bit of
- 5:41Speaker 3: what would you bring to the dinner party?
- 5:44Speaker 4: I bring the easiest to put together, like I don't know,
- 5:46Speaker 4: like a cheeseboard or something. Sure, a few crackers and
- 5:48Speaker 4: a few piece of cheese and a jar of chutney
- 5:50Speaker 4: from the shop.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Disappointed, I'm not going to lie. I thought you might
- 5:53Speaker 3: have been a dessert man.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I don't know. But anyway, that's okay.
- 5:57Speaker 2: If time's money, Thames money.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Small money, this is Hey, you're right. If someone brings
- 6:02Speaker 3: up politics at the dinner table, what do you do?
- 6:05Speaker 3: Do you engage or do you get up and refill
- 6:07Speaker 3: your drink?
- 6:09Speaker 4: I always engage and then regret to that I engaged,
- 6:13Speaker 4: you'll meet, because then it's just it's just.
- 6:15Speaker 2: A big, long tangent for hours. Yeah yeah, and then
- 6:18Speaker 2: I'm always the one to go no, let's stop it, no,
- 6:20Speaker 2: let's stop at no.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Yeah, but I really shouldn't have just got involved in
- 6:23Speaker 4: the first place. But if you don't get involved, then
- 6:25Speaker 4: you're just sat there looking at everyone. So yeah, politics
- 6:28Speaker 4: is a dangerous one. It's a long tangent.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Oh yes, friend, absolutely, Uh, here we go, you famously
- 6:34Speaker 3: many years ago discussed and I'm going to play it
- 6:36Speaker 3: for your ment, just to remind you of how you
- 6:38Speaker 3: used to enjoy potatoes.
- 6:41Speaker 1: This came up on my feed the other day with myself.
- 6:43Speaker 4: I just love to mush potatoes, new petatoes, baked potatoes, roastaters.
- 6:52Speaker 1: That's you, just so you know that is actually you.
