Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: More than a smile. Hey everybody, it's Wally Bates. Welcome
- 0:05Speaker 1: back to Rideshare Revival. I picked up Adama at Cincinnati
- 0:11Speaker 1: Children's Hospital. She'd been there all day. She was exhausted.
- 0:16Speaker 1: She was eight months pregnant with a little girl. She
- 0:20Speaker 1: was ready for one thing, to get home. Get her
- 0:24Speaker 1: feet up and rest. Adama's originally from Senegal and West Africa.
- 0:30Speaker 1: As we talked, I learned that she was a Muslim. Interestingly,
- 0:34Speaker 1: I had several conversations with Muslim women in my car
- 0:38Speaker 1: that day. So we talked about that, about the different
- 0:43Speaker 1: faiths and what we believe and all the things that
- 0:46Speaker 1: we really have in common more than our differences. And
- 0:50Speaker 1: of course, I told her about Rideshare Revival, how my
- 0:53Speaker 1: car was become a little bit of a ministry on
- 0:56Speaker 1: wheels for me. How I get the opportunity to pray
- 0:59Speaker 1: for people from all walks of life, different backgrounds, different beliefs,
- 1:05Speaker 1: different circumstances, and how much I enjoy praying for people.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Somewhere in a conversation, I learned she was expecting a
- 1:13Speaker 1: little girl. So naturally, I offered the suggestion, you know,
- 1:17Speaker 1: Uber would be a great name for a baby. I'm
- 1:20Speaker 1: still waiting for someone to take me up on that,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I guess. I don't know. As we closed her to
- 1:26Speaker 1: her house, I could tell Adama had just about enough
- 1:30Speaker 1: of this day. She was tired. She spent hours at
- 1:32Speaker 1: the hospital, eight months pregnant. It was a pretty full day.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But there was one more thing we were going to
- 1:39Speaker 1: do before she got out. We got to pray. And
- 1:43Speaker 1: she was happy to have me do that. So we prayed.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Of course, prayed for health. For that precious little girl
- 1:49Speaker 1: grown inside her and for healing wherever it was needed.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Fill that area with fresh living water for a safe
- 1:59Speaker 1: remainder of her pregnancy and for rest. Good, peaceful, much
- 2:06Speaker 1: needed rest. When Adama first got in the car, she
- 2:09Speaker 1: looked worn out and understandably so. But when she got out,
- 2:15Speaker 1: she had a huge smile on her face. The kind
- 2:17Speaker 1: of smile that makes you smile too. She's still eight
- 2:20Speaker 1: months pregnant. She was still tired. She still needed to
- 2:24Speaker 1: get inside and rest, but something changed. Two people from
- 2:28Speaker 1: different parts of the world, two different religious backgrounds, one
- 2:32Speaker 1: little ride, and a prayer. Sometimes a smile is all
- 2:37Speaker 1: the confirmation you need. Rideshare Revival, there's hope at every turn.
- 2:44Speaker 1: These are my prayers from the road. If you would
- 2:46Speaker 1: like prayer, I'd love to pray for you. Send me
- 2:49Speaker 1: over a line, ridesharerevival at gmail.com.
