- 0:01Silver and gold's epic market. We are going through a period of
- 0:05time like no other in the precious metal sector.
- 0:08Is it a precious metals panic? We got big stories to cover
- 0:12today, massive news coming out of China this week, and we've
- 0:16got some charts that tell us we could be in for some very good
- 0:20times, not just in the short term, but also in the long term
- 0:25when it comes to silver and gold.
- 0:27And of course, we're going to talk about the Comex.
- 0:29But before we do that, I want to talk about you.
- 0:32Yes, you. Thank you for joining me down
- 0:34here in the basement. We're basement dwellers.
- 0:36We love hanging out here together.
- 0:38Seriously, so many great people. That includes you.
- 0:41Make sure you leave comments in the comments section.
- 0:44Get to know some of the other basement dwellers and please
- 0:47subscribe to the channel. We still have that special going
- 0:50for all of 2026. It's free to subscribe.
- 0:53Give the video a thumbs up and I might just ring the golden gong.
- 0:56Let's do an update on the Comex. And there's something about this
- 1:00next statement that I'm going to share with you that I agree with
- 1:03100%, but also another part that I don't agree with, and I want
- 1:08to hear what you guys think about this.
- 1:11This came from Bob the Bullionaire, not Bob the
- 1:15Builder, Bob the billionaire. He says in very simple terms,
- 1:19this is what's happening right now, guys at the COMEX, the
- 1:23paper contracts for March still remain very high versus the
- 1:29available registered stock in a ratio that is much higher than
- 1:33we saw heading into December. Hold on one second here.
- 1:37I think we're having some tech issues.
- 1:40Let me get this pulled up. OK.
- 1:41So basically, yes, OK, right now on the COMEX and then I'll come
- 1:46back to what I don't agree with with what he said.
- 1:49But on the COMEX right now, there's about 90 million ounces
- 1:52in the registered category, the registered category, that's the
- 1:55silver that's actually available to satisfy the obligations on
- 2:00those contracts. There's contracts for almost
- 2:02what 290,000,000 last I heard. So there's almost a three to one
- 2:07ratio. There's there's 3 ounces of
- 2:10silver that people think they're going to get for each one ounce
- 2:13that's available. OK, It wouldn't, it'd be like
- 2:16this. Here's a great analogy.
- 2:17I'd be like Amazon, let's say, has a specific vacuum cleaner
- 2:21and they only have 100 of them in their warehouse.
- 2:25But on their website, they've sold 300 of them, right?
- 2:28And they're banking on the fact that, well, maybe 200 of these
- 2:31people will cancel their contract anyway.
- 2:35What I don't agree with, OK, And it's not just him, it's all over
- 2:38the place. And I could be wrong and I hope
- 2:41I'm dead wrong is the part that I have in red.
- 2:43He says we can now assume that more supply in the last minute
- 2:48will not solve this problem. I again and and he's that's a
- 2:53very common belief out there in the precious metal sector right
- 2:56now, right that basically the Co Max is going to blow up later
- 3:00this week, next week. I don't agree with that based on
- 3:04previous experience and I've got a couple decades of it.
- 3:07They'll find out. They'll figure out a way to
- 3:10smooth it over. Kick the can down the road.
- 3:12But don't forget the important thing for us to remember is they
- 3:16are kicking the can down the road and that can has gone from
- 3:20being a can to a 5 gallon bucket to now like one of those 55
- 3:24gallon metal drums that you see at your local park that they use
- 3:28as a trash can. It's getting harder and harder
- 3:31to kick the can. Eventually yes, the physical
- 3:35market will overwhelm the paper market.
- 3:38But for now, just my opinion. But I don't think that we're
- 3:42going to see a comex whoop. I hope I'm wrong and I have been
- 3:45wrong before. OK?
- 3:48You know, we're all tired of the manipulation of the silver and
- 3:51gold price that it's gone on for decades.
- 3:53It's been well documented. People have been convicted,
- 3:56people have gone to jail because of spoofing, right?
- 4:00Because of manipulating the price of the metal.
- 4:03So we'll keep an eye on that. But let's go out and take a look
- 4:06at what's happening right now in the markets because there's
- 4:09something interesting again occurring, which probably has to
- 4:13do with what we just talked about this this inventory
- 4:18imbalance on the COMEX. So right now we've got a spot
- 4:22silver price of $86 and I'm sorry, $86.80.
- 4:28That's the ask. Let's go look at the futures,
- 4:32okay, 87 O 7. So earlier today no longer the
- 4:36case, but earlier today we were backwardated, OK.
- 4:41And we're pretty much just in balance right now.
- 4:43We certainly I don't think are in a state of healthy contango.
- 4:47What's probably happening is the spot price is going, is going
- 4:51higher and higher, right, and putting this backwardation
- 4:54pressure on the on the futures market because people are
- 4:59wanting to buy, they got to buy the silver they got to cover.
- 5:02So we'll keep a close eye on that.
- 5:04There's a lot going on. But the big story, I'm sorry I
- 5:07held off for so long on you, my friends.
- 5:09Is China OK? Things are getting absolutely
- 5:13crazy with China. Let's remember that tomorrow the
- 5:17Chinese markets reopen, right? They've been closed for the last
- 5:21what, 10 days because of the Chinese New Year celebration.
- 5:24Everybody said that the price of gold and silver would get
- 5:26smushed during that period. It hasn't.
- 5:29It's actually gone up, which went against what everybody
- 5:33says. You ever notice that in life, a
- 5:35lot of times what everybody says, the opposite happens, in
- 5:38particular when it comes to markets.
- 5:40So now it's exciting because when the Chinese come back
- 5:45online, when they come back into these markets tomorrow, it's
- 5:49going to be super interesting to see what happens.
- 5:52At minimum, it feels safe for us to assume that that it's going
- 5:57to bring more demand back into the precious metals markets, but
- 6:00we'll keep an eye on that. Let's go check out what's
- 6:03happening in China on many different levels.
- 6:06First, we're going to go hear what's happening at the Chinese
- 6:09gold shops and we're going to pull this one up from our friend
- 6:15the Oriental Ghost right on the ground giving us great
- 6:19information out of China. He said this yes.
- 6:22OK, just after Chinese New Year, many gold shops in China stopped
- 6:28selling gold bars. Interesting.
- 6:32All contracts signed before the holiday are now being refunded.
- 6:37OK. The gold shortage is extremely
- 6:40severe and this is the Oriental ghost who's not disposed to give
- 6:45crazy predictions for gold or silver.
- 6:48He says $10,000 will be coming. And for those of you who can
- 6:54read, I guess it's called Mandarin.
- 6:57I think it's awful pretty, but I sure as heck can't read it.
- 7:00There's your proof right there. But now we're going to go to the
- 7:04actual retail markets and get this, OK.
- 7:07And this came from Eric Young, another great source, reliable
- 7:12of information from China. He says Chinese physical gold
- 7:17and silver buying far exceeded my expectations at these near
- 7:22all time high prices. It seems that things are
- 7:27accelerating. And then he refers to this from
- 7:31David Lee, another like trusted source about Chinese markets,
- 7:36the Shenzhen Shu market on Sunday the 22nd.
- 7:41That would have been yesterday during the holiday.
- 7:44About 40 stores remained open. About 8 or 9000 shoppers visited
- 7:49daily by 221 / 60 stores were open.
- 7:53Over 10,000 shoppers visited the market.
- 7:56The shopkeeper said that she's been issuing invoices non-stop
- 8:01and asked the reporter to keep the interview short because
- 8:04she's so busy. OK, this is on the ground in
- 8:07China. Things are getting back to
- 8:08normal this week and once everyone's back to work.
- 8:13So here she is. Here's your proof.
- 8:22You see her hat? She's a Ron's basement.
- 8:25She's a, she must be a basement dweller.
- 8:28She's got her big R for Ron's basement hat on.
- 8:35OK, I love China and I love Chinese people, but even more
- 8:41importantly, guys, this is a potential massive, massive
- 8:45source of demand for the metals in the future.
- 8:48You know China, India love the metals but I had no idea.
- 8:52I was shocked to learn how much money Chinese people actually
- 8:56save. And in China, right?
- 8:58Cryptocurrency is illegal right there.
- 9:00Real estate market has been a horrible place to invest
- 9:04recently. They don't trust paper money.
- 9:06Chinese people love precious metals big.
- 9:09Wait till you hear just how much money Chinese people actually
- 9:13save up again. This came from the Oriental
- 9:16ghost. China's total savings amount
- 9:20right now to almost $50 trillion.
- 9:23Wow. They can pay off the US debt.
- 9:26I don't think they're going to want to do that.
- 9:28Converting savings into accumulated gold can drain
- 9:32liquidity, stabilize the Chinese yuan deposits, which would be
- 9:38backed by gold. Chinese savings will be the
- 9:42biggest potential purchase of gold after central banks in the
- 9:47world. OK.
- 9:49And he was responding to Alice, Sarah McLeod who said we in the
- 9:52we in the West fail to appreciate the extent of savings
- 9:56in China. They accumulate 5 or 6 trillion
- 9:59every year. These savings are increasingly
- 10:02directed to gold and silver. So guys, I don't know.
- 10:07And when we talk about China, when we talk about the precious
- 10:11metals prices, it gets more and more interesting.
- 10:14But right, a lot of us are in the West and we've got the most
- 10:18massive David verse Goliath story going right now.
- 10:21Don't forget we've got a massive Chinese billionaire who has a
- 10:26huge short position, paper short position.
- 10:29That's going to probably get really interesting here this
- 10:33week because the regulators are clamping down in China.
- 10:37It's Mr. Beyond, OK, in the David verse Goliath epic battle
- 10:43that we have going on right now. He's the Chinese billionaire
- 10:46with a huge paper short position that he's going to have to
- 10:51cover. But on the other side, from the
- 10:53United States of America, we have David Bateman, our own
- 10:57silver billionaire, OK, He's got like, what is it, 15,000,000
- 11:02ounces of silver long, right? He believes he's out there
- 11:07always talking about the great attributes of owning silver.
- 11:11But there's another characteristic to our David
- 11:14Bateman. He has physical silver.
- 11:17He doesn't have paper silver. So we've got the David, the new
- 11:21hunt brother here in the United States, Bateman with 15,000,000
- 11:25ounces of silver, long on a physical basis versus the
- 11:30Goliath who's the Chinese billionaire Mr. Beyond, who's
- 11:34got a paper short, right? It really is David versus
- 11:38Goliath. And the Goliath is that we can
- 11:41even throw in the Comex and the LBMA with all their paper
- 11:44shorts. It's going to be an interesting
- 11:46year for the precious metals. Be prepared.
- 11:49I do want to say thank you to channel sponsor First Mint.
- 11:53They're a silver specialist mint in Las Vegas, NV, Nevada.
- 11:56Look, you guys send so many great messages about your
- 12:00experience with First Mint. I just now send them one a week.
- 12:03It's incredible the feedback that that I'm getting from our
- 12:07community regarding First Mint. Remember, right, they're owned
- 12:11by First Majestic who mines the silver in Mexico, ships at the
- 12:16Las Vegas, NV where they create world class silver bullion
- 12:20products like this brand new product.
- 12:23They have the year of the horse coin.
- 12:26It is absolutely beautiful and then it goes straight to you.
- 12:30We talked about spoofing earlier, right?
- 12:32So think about this. With first Mint, you're getting
- 12:36the freshest silver on the market right from the mine to
- 12:40the mint directly to you. But it never touches the Comex
- 12:44or the LBMA. So not only is it the freshest,
- 12:47but it's also spoof proof. Check them out here at First
- 12:52mint.com. It's a great company and here
- 12:55you go, First mint.com. And they do have a discount code
- 12:59that we can use for US basement dwellers.
- 13:02VIPRB. Thank you.
- 13:05First meant for sponsoring Ron's basement.
- 13:07OK, it gets a lot more interesting.
- 13:09Wow. Do you want to hear about
- 13:11$75,000 gold? What about silver at 3750?
- 13:18Actually higher per oz. These are hard numbers.
- 13:22This is getting a ton of attention in the precious metals
- 13:26community. Let's dig into this because it
- 13:28makes easy, perfect sense. And here we go.
- 13:33Hold on here. Here we are.
- 13:36OK, Actually, I, I lied, I apologize.
- 13:39Silver to $3947 per oz. OK, Tommy Costa shared an
- 13:46interesting calculation this week.
- 13:48We'll just read through this really quickly and then we're
- 13:50going to look at a chart that makes it crystal clear.
- 13:53During the last period of extreme debt expansion, World
- 13:57War 2, the US government debt surged to levels comparable to
- 14:02today. So right after World War Two, we
- 14:05did have debt levels comparable to today, but at that time
- 14:10roughly 51%. Uh oh, hold on, Let's get the
- 14:14right screen up. Saved by the bell.
- 14:17There we go. Now you're on the right screen.
- 14:19You heard what I was talking about.
- 14:21So after after World War 2, the United States had massive debt
- 14:26similar to what we have today. Then OK, today we've got this
- 14:31massive debt. However, OK.
- 14:34However, there's a difference. Today, total debt is actually
- 14:37even larger, yet only about 3% is backed by gold.
- 14:44So back after World War 2, when we had this massive debt, 51% of
- 14:49the debt was backed by gold. Today, we actually have a little
- 14:53more debt, OK, but only instead of it being back 51% by gold,
- 14:58it's only backed by 3% backed by gold.
- 15:02This comparison powerfully illustrates just how deeply
- 15:06undervalued gold is on a historical basis.
- 15:10Here we go in Gray. If the US government debt were
- 15:13backed by gold at the same 51% level seen in the 1940s, total
- 15:19US gold reserves would need to be worth roughly worth roughly
- 15:23$20 million. With 261 million ounces of gold,
- 15:28that implies a gold price right? Now that would need to be near
- 15:32$75,000 per oz. And then he talks about, you
- 15:37know, if we assume a gold to silver ratio at those levels of
- 15:4119, we would have a silver price of $3947.
- 15:48Now, that all seems wild and crazy, but that's based on real
- 15:52numbers that were around, you know, and not that long ago,
- 15:56right? That and after World War 2 in
- 15:591940, fifty, 1% of this massive debt we had was backed by gold.
- 16:04Now think about it within this content that right now we know
- 16:09the world central banks are buying gold hand over fist
- 16:12because you might say, well, gold's not well.
- 16:15Yeah, gold. Gold has become from a from a
- 16:18central bank reserve perspective, more important now
- 16:23right then it probably was in 1940s and the 1940s.
- 16:28Think about that, guys. Like this idea that we just can
- 16:31write up that we can create that into Infinity.
- 16:35What do they call that? Modern monetary theory.
- 16:37You can just print more money. Print more money?
- 16:40Yeah. But you know what?
- 16:42Mathematics shows 00 forgiveness on the altar of truth.
- 16:48That is a fact. You can't just print, print,
- 16:51print and expect that it's going to keep its value.
- 16:55It doesn't work that way. It never has worked that way and
- 16:58and never will. Next we're going to look at some
- 17:00more charts right about overall commodities that say something
- 17:04absolutely optimistic about silver and gold and then some
- 17:09more data comparing the S&P 500 to the gold market.
- 17:12Before we do that, I do want to say thank you to right here,
- 17:15First Mining Gold for sponsoring Ron's Basement.
- 17:18You can learn more about First Mining Gold at
- 17:20firstmininggold.com. They're a development stage gold
- 17:24company based in Canada. They've got 2 huge multi million
- 17:29ounce development stage projects, Spring Pull in Ontario
- 17:33and Du Parquet located in Quebec East, each of which separately
- 17:38have multi million gold deposit ounces in the ground in Canada,
- 17:45which is becoming increasingly scarce, increasingly rare.
- 17:50Thank you first mining gold for sponsoring Rod's basement as
- 17:53well. Let's look at this incredible
- 17:55data. I had no idea it was this
- 17:58extreme. Right now, we're going to look
- 18:00at overall. Hold on, we're going to look at
- 18:03overall commodities. But remember right, silver and
- 18:07gold are considered to be commodities.
- 18:11And when you see this, guys, it paints a beautiful picture, not
- 18:15just for the next year, but maybe the next 10 years, maybe
- 18:18even the next 20 years. And here we are.
- 18:22We got a little video we're going to watch from Peak
- 18:25Financial Investing. I'd love this first sentence and
- 18:29the very, it's very possible that in five to seven years from
- 18:32now, people are going to be looking back and saying I really
- 18:37missed an opportunity. I don't think we are US basement
- 18:41dwellers, but some of those normal people out there like
- 18:45your neighbors who don't understand silver and gold, who
- 18:47we affectionately refer to as the sheeple.
- 18:55All right, here we go. Commodities relative to equities
- 18:58are at their lowest level ever, ever in the history of the world
- 19:06and tend to do well when the dollar starts weakening.
- 19:11Are we about to see about to see commodities return to favor
- 19:16after a 10 year break? Wait till you see, I'm going to
- 19:20play a little bit of this and then we're going to, I'm going
- 19:21to explain to you what this chart means, but let's pull this
- 19:25up. He does a pretty good job
- 19:27talking about it at the beginning.
- 19:29So here we go, and then we'll come back.
- 19:31Commodities to equities, it's a ratio of the two versus the US
- 19:34dollar. And so here we see in blue
- 19:39that's the US dollar. So that's a real trade weighted
- 19:42index. So that's on the right hand
- 19:44scale here. And then also commodities
- 19:46compared to equities. And you see we have this huge
- 19:49bottom down here in the early mid 80s and then we had another
- 19:52big bottom down here 95 to 99 ish.
- 19:56But this one is the lowest we've ever seen.
- 19:58The commodities have been absolutely out of favor since 10
- 20:01years. Easy.
- 20:04And so the question you know the answer is once you bought them,
- 20:07it tends to do that tends to sort of spike and off you go.
- 20:11So we'll see. The other Plaza cord was the top
- 20:13of the dollar there. The tech bubble in 2000 was the
- 20:16top. There is same thing or we're
- 20:18going to see the same thing with the tech bubble here.
- 20:20Don't know. Wow.
- 20:22OK, guys, hold on. Let me see if I can get the
- 20:24markers up here, which I can't. So hold on one second.
- 20:29Hold on. I'm coming back.
- 20:32Here we are now we're back. OK, I have to draw it for you on
- 20:35this screen here. But again, the blue line is the
- 20:40US dollar and look how that is higher right now.
- 20:43You got to remember something very critical.
- 20:47They're talking about the dollar weakening, which it has
- 20:49weakened, but on a historical basis, the dollar is still
- 20:53relatively high. OK.
- 20:55Now the but the really cool thing on this chart is the white
- 20:59line which is the commodities to equities ratio.
- 21:03And look at this down here, like he said, we are been in an
- 21:09unbelievable period of time where commodities compared to
- 21:13over the overall stock markets, the overall the equities markets
- 21:17have been near historic lows. Well, they said that the lowest
- 21:21ever OK, Remember included in this down here are gold and
- 21:26silver, OK? And you can even put probably
- 21:29the precious metal mining stocks in there, as well as being just
- 21:33so historically undervalued. And look, look right here.
- 21:40See what happened here, The blue line and the white line, the
- 21:43white line went above. See what happened right here,
- 21:46right? And this was right around 2000
- 21:48or right after 2000. This was probably, I don't know
- 21:52if that was 1980, but you get the point.
- 21:54OK, let me erase all this. As this white line goes up,
- 22:00which it will, these things go in cycles.
- 22:03That will mean higher prices for silver and gold.
- 22:07I was shocked to learn the commodities compared to equities
- 22:12have been that low for that long, but also shocked to learn
- 22:17this about gold and silver. I'm sorry, gold in particular
- 22:22from silver trade that gold. Gold has outperformed the S&P
- 22:26500's total return over 1251020 and 25 year basis, yet your
- 22:33financial advisor acts like it does not even exist.
- 22:41The mainstream won't be able to ignore gold and silver much
- 22:45longer. And remember that guys.
- 22:47And there's a reason why that's the case and a powerful message
- 22:51in that as well. You're a financial advisor and
- 22:54I'm not a financial advisor by the way.
- 22:55I forgot to tell you that please don't make any financial
- 22:58decisions based on what I'm saying.
- 23:00But these financial advisors in the traditional finance world
- 23:03that work for the big companies, those companies tell those
- 23:07people what to sell. OK, And here's here's the the
- 23:10truth, OK. The truth is there's very few
- 23:13products that are gold and silver oriented where financial
- 23:17advisors can make big commissions.
- 23:18That's what I've been told. That's what I've heard.
- 23:21And that makes good common sense, right?
- 23:23They're going to make more money putting you in a mutual fund or
- 23:26whatever, buying a stock, whatever, you know, some deal an
- 23:29annuity where they get a 10% Commission.
- 23:31There's not a lot of Commission available to the traditional
- 23:35financial advisors within the silver and gold sector.
- 23:39But they can't ignore it much longer, right?
- 23:42People are beginning to wake up. We're seeing Bloomberg talk
- 23:46about it, Reuters talk about it, but they're the Wall Street
- 23:49Journal even mentioning. But they're only doing it right
- 23:53because they just can't. They're they're like, oh, they
- 23:56scorn, they don't like, they don't like, they not like us,
- 24:00right? They don't necessarily like
- 24:02silver and gold. But hey, we love our silver and
- 24:05gold. Thanks for coming down here.
- 24:06This China situation is going to be incredible.
- 24:10I can't wait. Thank you.
- 24:13Upstairs Susie. I forgot to tell you a story
- 24:16about upstairs Susie. I'll do that in a second.
- 24:18This week is going to be incredible.
- 24:21Then I got to tell you the story about Susie.
- 24:24When China reopens, okay? I mean, what was supposed to
- 24:29happen was that all last week, gold and silver were supposed to
- 24:34get destroyed. That's what all the experts were
- 24:37telling us. I'm not going to toot my own
- 24:39horn, but I said something different.
- 24:41We covered that already, OK? We were supposed to be limping,
- 24:45limping into today with like a 48 or $58 silver price because
- 24:51the Chinese markets were closed and the Comex and the LBMA.
- 24:55And there's some truth to that. When the cat's away the mice
- 24:57will play but instead tomorrow we're going into this Chinese
- 25:05market reopen in a very strong position.
- 25:08So guys I don't know you know a lot sometimes the app be
- 25:11prepared for anything. All right, please OK, but but it
- 25:16sure feel it's exciting at the minimum it's going to be a lot
- 25:19of fun to see. I want to tell you a story about
- 25:21upstairs Susie. I saw her this morning upstairs
- 25:24and I walked by and I said, did you?
- 25:28I said, did you check the silver price this morning?
- 25:30She said yeah. And I said spot or futures.
- 25:34And she said spot. I only look at the spot price
- 25:37like I was some kind of like goofball for asking her the
- 25:41question. So I kind of laughed and I said,
- 25:43I guess we'll start calling her silver spot Susie because she
- 25:48follows the spot price. All right, let's run out here
- 25:50and see what's going on in the community right now.
