- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:13Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm Wendy, I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:17Speaker 1: On today's episode, we are discussing two four t which
- 0:21Speaker 1: originally premiered on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, March twenty first,
- 0:25Speaker 1: and is currently available to stream on Hallmark Plus.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Hey, you should be following us.
- 0:31Speaker 1: On Instagram where we are Girls Gone Hallmark. There are
- 0:34Speaker 1: late breaking announcements happening there all the time, including the
- 0:38Speaker 1: announcement that just dropped over the weekend that we.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Have added yet another non Hallmark series to our rotation,
- 0:47Speaker 2: and no one is more surprised than yours. Truly. I'm sorry.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I get the hair brained ideas sometimes, you know.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You should know that I've been talking about Down to
- 0:59Speaker 1: Abbey for years. I've loved that show. I love that
- 1:02Speaker 1: show since I had to check out the DVDs from
- 1:05Speaker 1: the library in order to watch past seasons. And Wendy
- 1:09Speaker 1: has always been a hater.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Shocking, I know.
- 1:14Speaker 1: So we're watching Count of Monte Cristo, which you may
- 1:17Speaker 1: or may not know, but our reviews begin this Thursday.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It's already started streaming on PBS and then Wendy saw
- 1:22Speaker 1: a preview for the four Sights and said, should we
- 1:24Speaker 1: do this? And we're doing it. It just looked so beautiful,
- 1:28Speaker 1: like it just drew me.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I don't even know what it was even about, but
- 1:32Speaker 2: I just thought, like, how pretty that looks let's review that?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Should we?
- 1:38Speaker 1: And people said yes, so here we are. So the
- 1:40Speaker 1: Foresights is also it started Sunday night on PBS. It's
- 1:43Speaker 1: available for free on PBS dot org and the PBS app,
- 1:47Speaker 1: as is the Count of Monte Cristo. The free episodes
- 1:50Speaker 1: are only available for about two weeks, so you want
- 1:53Speaker 1: to watch them shortly after the episode airs, but the
- 1:55Speaker 1: PBS Passport app does have them for a longer window
- 1:59Speaker 1: of time. So Count of Monte Cristo is eight episodes.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Those reviews will drop here on Girls Gone Hallmark on Thursdays.
- 2:07Speaker 1: The Foresights is six episodes, and those reviews will drop
- 2:11Speaker 1: on Fridays.
- 2:13Speaker 2: We hope, no, oh no, it's happening. It's just we're committed,
- 2:17Speaker 2: like we have such a kind of crazy busy spring
- 2:21Speaker 2: and so you guys should have just we were just
- 2:23Speaker 2: trying to like plan out the schedule I'm like, okay,
- 2:26Speaker 2: we're doing this. We're doing this.
- 2:28Speaker 1: The Way Home premierees in four weeks. Yeah, so we
- 2:32Speaker 1: will have five episode weeks coming up here.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yay, back to the old days where we're crashing out
- 2:39Speaker 2: like the holidays around. Yeah. The nice thing is four
- 2:42Speaker 2: of those episodes are series, and so they're half the
- 2:46Speaker 2: length of the movie. Correct. So correct. It's the little
- 2:50Speaker 2: things around here, y'all. Hey, we'd love to hear from you,
- 2:54Speaker 2: so send us your emails. If you have thoughts on
- 2:57Speaker 2: any of our reviews or any of the movie series
- 3:00Speaker 2: we're watching, we would love for you to email us
- 3:03Speaker 2: hello at Girls Gonehollmark dot com. I'm sure we will
- 3:07Speaker 2: have a mailbag episode in the very near future. That's right,
- 3:12Speaker 2: let's hear a synopsis for two for Tea. Tea is
- 3:15Speaker 2: a Chinese American pottery artist who meets new community center
- 3:19Speaker 2: handyman Will as she learns about her family's traditions through art,
- 3:24Speaker 2: can she and Will save the center from closure?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Two for Tea is directed by Michael Robinson, marking his
- 3:31Speaker 1: ninety fourth directing credit. His Hallmark resume includes Adventures in
- 3:34Speaker 1: Love and Birding, an Unexpected Valentine, and a novel Noel,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and he recently directed The Stars Between Us.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Matt Johnson gets the story credit here. He's a two
- 3:44Speaker 2: time Emmy Award winning showrunner, executive producer, and writer with
- 3:48Speaker 2: a really interesting background that includes projects like Kat and Kitten, Bull,
- 3:53Speaker 2: Will of Fortune, and Jeopardy.
- 3:56Speaker 1: The toeplay is credited to Matt Johnson, Justin went Zilchang,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and Betsy Morris. Justine has a couple of Hallmark Jason credits,
- 4:02Speaker 1: including A Big Fat Family Christmas and Gymnastics Academy A
- 4:06Speaker 1: Second Chance. Betsy Morris is one of our Hallmark phaves,
- 4:10Speaker 1: with writing credits on Villa Amore, Guiding Emily, and to
- 4:13Speaker 1: All a Good Night, just to name a few.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah. I was kind of annoyed because Betsy Morris wasn't
- 4:18Speaker 2: named originally as being one of the writers on this.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Until I saw her, you know, credit on the screen.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I was like, Ah, Betsy Morris wearing good hands, that's right.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Janelle Parrish stars as t This marks her fifty eighth
- 4:34Speaker 2: acting credit. We most recently saw her during the holiday
- 4:37Speaker 2: season in Christmas on Duty. Chris McNally co stars as Will.
- 4:42Speaker 2: He's known for his work on When Calls the Heart
- 4:44Speaker 2: Holiday Crashers and Tipline Mysteries Dial One for Murder. David
- 4:48Speaker 2: Kay appears as cousin THEO with eighty nine acting credits.
- 4:53Speaker 2: We've seen David on Hallmark before in A Royal Montana
- 4:55Speaker 2: Christmas and Christmas Under the Lights.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Lillian Limb appears as Leanne, and she's no stranger to Hallmark.
- 5:02Speaker 1: She appeared in Deck the Halls on Cherry Lane Holidays
- 5:05Speaker 1: and Heart of the Matter. Alex mac Isaac plays daughter Natalie.
- 5:09Speaker 1: This is her fifth acting credit, and she recently appeared
- 5:12Speaker 1: in eight episodes of the latest season of Wynn Calls
- 5:15Speaker 1: the Heart as Gwendolyn.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Tahina Awan plays Carmen. She has seven prior acting credits,
- 5:20Speaker 2: including a Hallmark appearance in the twenty twenty four film
- 5:24Speaker 2: One Bad Apple, a Hannah Swinson mystery. Okay, are you
- 5:27Speaker 2: ready for this? Gary Chalk plays Harry with a staggering
- 5:33Speaker 2: four hundred and forty nine acting credits. It might be
- 5:36Speaker 2: the most I've ever seen. Absolutely, how is that even possible?
- 5:39Speaker 2: I don't know. He has a ton of projects, but
- 5:41Speaker 2: for Hallmark. He was recently in Confessions of a Christmas
- 5:45Speaker 2: Letter in twenty twenty four.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Beth Featheringham appears as Georgina, with credits spanning both rom
- 5:51Speaker 1: coms and thrillers, including Food for the Heart and When
- 5:55Speaker 1: Mom Becomes a Murderer.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Enid Ray Adams plays community center manager Liz with eighty
- 6:03Speaker 2: acting credits. She has previously appeared on Hallmark in movies
- 6:07Speaker 2: like Holiday Road and Campfire Christmas.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Daniel Bacon plays gallery owner Ken. You might recognize Daniel
- 6:13Speaker 1: from last year's smash hit Merry Christmas Ted Cooper, as
- 6:16Speaker 1: well as Blind Day book Club from twenty twenty four.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Let's take a quick break and we will come right
- 6:22Speaker 1: back with our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what's your first
- 6:34Speaker 1: impression of Two for Tea.
- 6:36Speaker 2: After her Christmas movie? I had notes, but Two for
- 6:40Speaker 2: Tea considered this my formal apology to Jenelle Parrish.
- 6:45Speaker 1: My first impression is, I'm convinced someone said the brand
- 6:47Speaker 1: name tees Pots and backward engineered a story to go
- 6:50Speaker 1: with it. Perhaps let's talk what we liked.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I liked that it wasn't your typical Hallmark communication. Tea
- 7:03Speaker 2: and Will just liked each other out loud, consistently. No
- 7:09Speaker 2: Number two guy lurking in the shadows, nothing like that.
- 7:13Speaker 2: They were just people who like caught feelings for each
- 7:15Speaker 2: other and enjoyed each other. They're super normal, super normal.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And even when she gets like a little bit like, oh,
- 7:24Speaker 2: he didn't tell me he had a dad, theos like
- 7:26Speaker 2: in the one conversation with you, he didn't reveal everything
- 7:28Speaker 2: about himself and it like fully readirects. So she's like, yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 2: I don't know why I'm upset THEO move on, cousin.
- 7:34Speaker 2: THEO is super grounding in this episode, in this episode,
- 7:37Speaker 2: in this movie, he's like such a great grounding force.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yeah for Tea, who is spinning out over dumb stuff. Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I loved Tea and Leanne's relationship in this movie. No
- 7:49Speaker 2: so nice.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Like I first of all, I loved the character of Leanne.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Lillian Limb delivers in her performance. I agree when she
- 8:00Speaker 1: speaks to her cousin, I cried.
- 8:02Speaker 2: It's so touching that scene.
- 8:05Speaker 1: You could just feel these like childhood emotions coming through,
- 8:09Speaker 1: like she finally gets that back. But I just really
- 8:12Speaker 1: like the relationship that Tea and Leanne have. There's a
- 8:14Speaker 1: lot of mutual respect, there's a lot of support. You said,
- 8:18Speaker 1: the romance isn't typical for homework and the mother daughter
- 8:20Speaker 1: relationship isn't typical leanne medals in kind of a fun way, yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: but not in a she needs to learn her place way,
- 8:32Speaker 1: like oh, she reorganizes the jewelry in the shop and
- 8:36Speaker 1: she cleans things up, but the only thing she really
- 8:38Speaker 1: does is she suggests that will like, oh she's down
- 8:41Speaker 1: the street, go find her. Like that situation. But it's
- 8:44Speaker 1: just lovely and nice and normal, and they support each
- 8:47Speaker 1: other and do things to help each other out, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: it's really nice.
- 8:52Speaker 2: It is because we I think we get the stereo
- 8:55Speaker 2: typical mother daughter adult mother daughter relationships where there is
- 8:59Speaker 2: like or annoyance. Yeah, it's nice to see adults mother
- 9:07Speaker 2: and daughters getting along. I love the inclusion of Mandarin
- 9:12Speaker 2: and Chinese cultural elements. I thought it added so much
- 9:16Speaker 2: depth to this movie. It wasn't like a check box.
- 9:18Speaker 2: It felt personal. I thought it was refreshing well.
- 9:23Speaker 1: In our review of Count and Monte Cristo that will
- 9:25Speaker 1: come out in a couple of days, we talk about
- 9:26Speaker 1: how that series takes place in France, but there's no French,
- 9:29Speaker 1: and of course the argument is like it's for an
- 9:32Speaker 1: English speaking audience, so we hear them speaking English. But
- 9:34Speaker 1: I think the inclusion of even bits and pieces of
- 9:37Speaker 1: the language like they used here. This movie was made
- 9:39Speaker 1: for an English speaking audience, but it grounds it in
- 9:42Speaker 1: its place and furthers the cultural relevance cultural narrative by
- 9:50Speaker 1: using those bits and pieces without apologizing for it.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Yeah it was great, Yeah, it was great. This movie
- 9:57Speaker 2: had a lot of stories going on, but for me
- 10:01Speaker 2: it works. You know, sometimes in the past it'd be
- 10:05Speaker 2: like a Hallmark movie with all these like BCD storylines
- 10:09Speaker 2: that are like working against it. But I thought here
- 10:12Speaker 2: everything kind of worked together in like a really nice
- 10:15Speaker 2: layered way. We have Tea's artistic journey, journey I hate
- 10:20Speaker 2: that word, but you know what I mean, her cultural connection,
- 10:24Speaker 2: the romance with Will, the community center, her mom's backstory.
- 10:29Speaker 2: None of it for me felt like too much. I
- 10:32Speaker 2: just thought it coexisted nicely, Like people live these very
- 10:36Speaker 2: layered lives and all these things can happen like at
- 10:38Speaker 2: one time and they don't need to like fight against
- 10:40Speaker 2: each other. Yeah, you know, I honestly felt like maybe
- 10:43Speaker 2: I should be bothered by that number of storylines. When
- 10:46Speaker 2: I was sitting here trying to come up with what
- 10:47Speaker 2: I wished for, I was like, well, there's kind of
- 10:49Speaker 2: a lot going on, But like you, it worked, it
- 10:52Speaker 2: was layered, and it was real life. You know, we're
- 10:56Speaker 2: dealing with all of these people have a lot going on.
- 10:58Speaker 2: That's just the way life goes, and you and I
- 11:01Speaker 2: are very familiar with that. To your point about the
- 11:05Speaker 2: inclusion of Mandarin, I liked the inclusion of a musical artist.
- 11:09Speaker 2: There's music from the artist. The name is spelled Xie.
- 11:13Speaker 2: I would not begin to know how to pronounce that.
- 11:16Speaker 2: But she's from Hong Kong. That's great, let's do that.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I didn't even I heard the song. I SHOs hammed it.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Oh did you? Yes? Let's talk about Will and Tea
- 11:29Speaker 2: for a second. I loved their chemistry. I thought this
- 11:36Speaker 2: is what I really liked. And it might be a
- 11:37Speaker 2: controversial take. I liked watching Will pursue Tea. Yeah. And
- 11:44Speaker 2: I don't know if it's the stage of life of
- 11:48Speaker 2: where I'm at or just the modern day we live in,
- 11:53Speaker 2: Like I just don't feel like we see that anymore,
- 11:56Speaker 2: like a very kind of traditional like clocking her that
- 12:01Speaker 2: she liked ice cream, or that he set up the
- 12:04Speaker 2: lanterns and the thing or whatever, you know, that I
- 12:07Speaker 2: brought the lantern festival to you. Oh. I just liked
- 12:10Speaker 2: that he pursued her, he liked her. It wasn't creepy
- 12:14Speaker 2: in any way.
- 12:15Speaker 1: No, I really loved the character of Will. The I
- 12:18Speaker 1: brought the Lantern Festival to you was one of my
- 12:20Speaker 1: favorite lines. But also when they meet and he's like, I'm.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Just a real guy having a great day. That's a
- 12:26Speaker 2: great It's just sweet and flirty, and those butterfly moments
- 12:32Speaker 2: that were just real fun.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I also loved when Will's like I saw a bumper
- 12:36Speaker 1: sticker that said if my music is too loud, you're
- 12:38Speaker 1: just too old. And I related really strongly to that moment.
- 12:42Speaker 2: If I can just piggyback on that that. Some of
- 12:44Speaker 2: the dialogue in this movie was so good. Yeah, when
- 12:48Speaker 2: they make a Tim Allen home improvement reference, I laughed
- 12:51Speaker 2: out loud. Cousin Leo's like, no, I wasn't eating a
- 12:55Speaker 2: pop tart, Like, I thought that was so funny. When
- 12:58Speaker 2: Theo holds up two outfits for Ten's like, do you
- 13:01Speaker 2: want to be hopelessly devoted to you, Sandy? Or you're
- 13:04Speaker 2: the one I want to want Sandy? I thought that
- 13:06Speaker 2: was so funny. Will tells Tea at one point, like
- 13:10Speaker 2: you're wearing the heck out of a red dress. I
- 13:12Speaker 2: was like swoony, Like there was just really good dialogue,
- 13:18Speaker 2: like very modern contemporary dialogue. Sure, I liked it. One
- 13:24Speaker 2: last thing that I liked. You may hate this the
- 13:27Speaker 2: community Center storyline. Classic Hallmark, but it hit for me
- 13:31Speaker 2: because I do think we live in a day where
- 13:35Speaker 2: like community really matters, and we need spaces for everybody
- 13:43Speaker 2: to feel comfortable in and there's not enough of them. Yes,
- 13:47Speaker 2: it felt important. It wasn't just a plot device. I
- 13:50Speaker 2: really enjoyed it. It made me. It made me just
- 13:53Speaker 2: think about things like I wish, I wish we had
- 13:56Speaker 2: more of that. I fully agree with you. The community
- 13:59Speaker 2: center piece to hit.
- 14:00Speaker 1: For me for the exact same reasons, like we are
- 14:03Speaker 1: losing these spaces for people to just be. We've lost
- 14:06Speaker 1: them in a lot of ways, and for me it
- 14:09Speaker 1: felt so idyllic to have this place to go where
- 14:13Speaker 1: there were other people to just be around. And we
- 14:17Speaker 1: have the woman who's always reading and she just feels
- 14:19Speaker 1: happy to just be there and read among her friends, and.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I just look.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I know, the like save the this or save the
- 14:26Speaker 1: that is the Hallmark trope of them all, but I
- 14:30Speaker 1: did want them to save this community center, and they did.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Sell me on the fact that it was it was
- 14:35Speaker 2: filling a need. Yeah, so agree.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I have three little likes that I just want to
- 14:42Speaker 1: run down. One Chris McNally has beautiful skin. Oh to
- 14:45Speaker 1: the pottery studio had beautiful lighting. And three the red
- 14:49Speaker 1: dress worn by Tea to.
- 14:50Speaker 2: The art gallery was a stunner. Loved it. Loved it too.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I loved it too. I've just one more tiny one.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I thought the whole that one. It was a small
- 15:01Speaker 2: scene and it could have been like a nothing scene,
- 15:03Speaker 2: but Tea and Will's ex wife just being like we're cool,
- 15:07Speaker 2: like just normalized scene. Everything is like there needs to
- 15:11Speaker 2: be no weird tension, no kind of competition, nothing. I
- 15:14Speaker 2: just great, great stuff. Let's talk wishes. How many freaking
- 15:20Speaker 2: hours are in a Hallmark day? Oh yeah, let me
- 15:24Speaker 2: present my evidence to the jury here. I may Tea
- 15:28Speaker 2: and Will are in the same outfits at multiple locations,
- 15:33Speaker 2: and it's supposed to be one day. I'm like, what
- 15:37Speaker 2: is happening here? They are at the community center, they're
- 15:40Speaker 2: at the shop, she's back in class. They go have
- 15:44Speaker 2: ice cream, then they go to the farmer's market like
- 15:47Speaker 2: it's yes, yes, what is happening? Yes? Why did they
- 15:50Speaker 2: do that? I don't know? And then I noticed, oh,
- 15:54Speaker 2: this is a kind of did you see that? But
- 15:55Speaker 2: it goes back into it. At the top of the movie,
- 15:58Speaker 2: Te's wearing like a real cute white T shirt and
- 16:01Speaker 2: denim overall with like a scarf. She's wearing that same
- 16:05Speaker 2: exact outfit like at the end of the movie in
- 16:09Speaker 2: one scene too. It's just you know, yeah, I don't
- 16:13Speaker 2: have a lot of wishes. I did think this was
- 16:17Speaker 2: like a little bit of a slowburn. Although I kind
- 16:20Speaker 2: of liked it, I have one issue with the character
- 16:24Speaker 2: of Will What and it's not motivated. Yes, I'm chill, bro.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Look when he is talking to Tea and he basically
- 16:37Speaker 1: outs himself as being like not motivated. He says like, oh,
- 16:40Speaker 1: as long as my bills are paid. It did give
- 16:43Speaker 1: me the ick a little bit.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Same same Now I got over it, and I don't
- 16:49Speaker 2: think he behaves that way going forward.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I don't think his actions support that narrative. Huh, Because
- 16:54Speaker 1: he is working hard, he's hustling, he's starting his own business.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I think it's okay to not want to be the
- 17:01Speaker 1: CEO of a corporation. But I felt like what he
- 17:05Speaker 1: was saying was like I just want to barely get by,
- 17:08Speaker 1: Like I want to work.
- 17:10Speaker 2: To live, not live to work. Huh.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I just think you know, you and I are in
- 17:15Speaker 1: this phase of life where when someone's like I go
- 17:16Speaker 1: with the flow, You're like, well that means someone else
- 17:18Speaker 1: is the flow.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah, And so it rubbed me a little bit the
- 17:23Speaker 2: wrong way. I totally feel you, okay, And I think
- 17:26Speaker 2: it's a mismatch if like you're with somebody who is driven, right, yes,
- 17:32Speaker 2: because then you're like dragging this person along, like hey,
- 17:35Speaker 2: I need you to operate at my level or vice versa.
- 17:39Speaker 2: And like I said, I also don't think that narrative
- 17:43Speaker 2: match to his actions. Because I'm starting this business. That's great,
- 17:46Speaker 2: Like you love to build things and fix things and
- 17:49Speaker 2: make things and be this person. That's great.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You don't need to have aspirations for that to be
- 17:55Speaker 1: a multinational corporation. But I do think you do need
- 18:01Speaker 1: to accept that life is long. Retirement is a real thing. Yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 1: you have a child, right the slim by the seat
- 18:10Speaker 1: of your pants, and you know, hoping you have money
- 18:12Speaker 1: to keep the lights on is not the only goal.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yes, Okay, I agree, totally agree. I do have a
- 18:19Speaker 2: few more wishes. Okay, I thought the community center stuff
- 18:24Speaker 2: was a little wobbly. You find out you're closing, you're
- 18:29Speaker 2: still hosting this opening. That makes no sense, Like the
- 18:33Speaker 2: day before you close and you're collecting sign ups without
- 18:36Speaker 2: even knowing if you're going to stay open. What is
- 18:40Speaker 2: happening here? No, makes no sense. You know that our
- 18:43Speaker 2: synopsis is so much about like Tea's art journey, and
- 18:47Speaker 2: it's a whiff in this. I feel like, yeah, I
- 18:51Speaker 2: could have used more of that. I think so too,
- 18:53Speaker 2: And because I thought it was really interesting that she was,
- 18:56Speaker 2: you know that this gallery owner is like you need
- 18:59Speaker 2: to put yourself war into your art and whatever. And
- 19:02Speaker 2: I actually did like a lot at the end where
- 19:04Speaker 2: he's like it's a no for me, but this is why.
- 19:06Speaker 2: And I was like, that makes perfect sense to you.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Like I thought all that stuff was kind of great.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I did. For a minute. I was like, isn't weird
- 19:14Speaker 2: that she is like replicating this traditional art? Is that
- 19:20Speaker 2: where's the line? Yeah, the copyright situation? Yeah? Is it
- 19:25Speaker 2: the method? That's a good question. But I enjoyed all
- 19:29Speaker 2: that stuff. I thought, I thought that stuff was cool.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I really want to take a ceramics class. Do you
- 19:35Speaker 2: guys we're a needle pointing here, we're ceramics. That's it
- 19:39Speaker 2: so far, needle pointing, that's all we're doing. Maybe revisiting painting,
- 19:44Speaker 2: maybe maybe stay tuned.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah, they have like a four week class at my
- 19:48Speaker 1: community center.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Yes, I want to do it. I would just I
- 19:53Speaker 2: always have like visions like you know when like it
- 19:55Speaker 2: just when they're I was like, that would be me
- 19:59Speaker 2: all the times, and I would be like I'm done,
- 20:01Speaker 2: I'm not starting over again. That's why I like a
- 20:04Speaker 2: class situation, like you show up, it's they tell you
- 20:06Speaker 2: what to do. I would never be like I'm gonna
- 20:08Speaker 2: go to the pottery studio and throw a pot. It
- 20:09Speaker 2: would be like you follow the directions and then you
- 20:12Speaker 2: leave and someone else's handles all. Also, I don't know
- 20:15Speaker 2: if my back can take like sitting over good good point,
- 20:20Speaker 2: the weird point. I am suffering a needle point related
- 20:23Speaker 2: shoulder strain. Then you get yourself a hitting pad and
- 20:28Speaker 2: an ice pack, Like is Bravo doing that promoting I'm
- 20:32Speaker 2: gonna have to see. Yeah, yeah, it was super annoying.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I was like I get that you guys are promoting
- 20:37Speaker 2: Hope Valley right now. But my goodness, gracious like enough.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Also Will at the Lantern festival thing that he set up,
- 20:48Speaker 2: he is using a boombox, a boom are we are
- 20:52Speaker 2: we playing music on the radio or a cassette tape?
- 20:56Speaker 2: What's happening here? A boom box, a whole boom box, boombox.
- 21:01Speaker 2: There's no CD player And it was like a cassette
- 21:03Speaker 2: tape boom box.
- 21:05Speaker 1: It wasn't one that looked like a boombox and happened
- 21:07Speaker 1: to be a bluetooth speaker.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Interesting m M. Tea's mom showing up with balloons at
- 21:15Speaker 2: the end, because I don't know if you caught it,
- 21:17Speaker 2: Like he, Tea has this whole conversation with Will about
- 21:20Speaker 2: how her mom always like showed up with signs and
- 21:24Speaker 2: balloons to like support her. And then in that very
- 21:26Speaker 2: last scene where Will's showing that tease pots are going
- 21:30Speaker 2: to be on display, Leanne is there with like her
- 21:34Speaker 2: own There's balloons all over their room that are like
- 21:36Speaker 2: for the community center, but Leanne has her own set
- 21:39Speaker 2: of door blues, and I'm like, this is sending me
- 21:43Speaker 2: I Also, my last thing is it did you see
- 21:45Speaker 2: that ish. The slow dance tutorial between Will and his
- 21:50Speaker 2: daughter I loved very much, but let's be honest. Middle
- 21:53Speaker 2: schoolers and high schoolers are not slow dancing at dances. Well, okay,
- 21:58Speaker 2: two things.
- 21:59Speaker 1: One, if you don't don't have a tween orteene breaking news,
- 22:03Speaker 1: no more to those songs never. And two what will
- 22:07Speaker 1: and t we're teaching was far more sophisticated than any
- 22:10Speaker 1: like people are just there's there's no actual dance in frame.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, they're like Frankenstein arms. Yes, but I thought
- 22:20Speaker 2: it was sweet.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Additionally, the handwriting on the to do list and the
- 22:23Speaker 1: handwriting on the Trimey note what was happening.
- 22:25Speaker 2: There don't match. She's giving me the don't say it windy,
- 22:29Speaker 2: but it's it was the bubble over the eyes that
- 22:33Speaker 2: I was like, what is who wrote this? Yes? Who
- 22:37Speaker 2: wrote what child wrote this? What teenager wrote this? I know?
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, century emails to Wendy. My point is the handwriting,
- 22:46Speaker 1: the samples don't match. The Trimey sign and the to
- 22:50Speaker 1: do list not the same person. At the art gallery,
- 22:53Speaker 1: THEO brings tea a cosmo and she's like, love this
- 22:56Speaker 1: line fool dated, and he's like early millennium is back
- 22:59Speaker 1: in fashion, and you cannot tell me that it is
- 23:02Speaker 1: a mistake that at that very moment, Janelle Parrish is
- 23:05Speaker 1: rocking my very favorite hairstyle trend that I miss so
- 23:09Speaker 1: very much, and that is the mini poof I'm demonstrating
- 23:12Speaker 1: it for Wendy.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I didn't notice, but what I did clock. First of all,
- 23:16Speaker 2: a Cosmo is delicious. I don't care if it's twenty
- 23:19Speaker 2: twenty six, I will gladly order one. Yes, so good.
- 23:22Speaker 2: And I think mid nineties is back right now, not
- 23:27Speaker 2: early millennial. I would agree with that.
- 23:30Speaker 1: But I thought it was funny because my daughter and
- 23:31Speaker 1: I have been watching Gilmore Girls and there's a scene
- 23:33Speaker 1: where Suki has like a real aggressive poof.
- 23:36Speaker 2: My I was like, what's going on with her hair?
- 23:37Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, that was the look. I miss the
- 23:39Speaker 2: poof so much. It was my best look. I've never
- 23:42Speaker 2: got it. Better do it. I want to see on
- 23:45Speaker 2: midlife Bestie's TikTok. You should be following us.
- 23:48Speaker 1: We are at Megan and Wendy and I am publishing
- 23:50Speaker 1: at a rapid pace over there.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I need to see the poof. Okay, we're going to
- 23:54Speaker 2: do a poof. I'm bringing it back.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Additionally, the movie poster feature a ghost movie like pottery
- 24:02Speaker 1: sequence that does not exist in the movie. They never
- 24:05Speaker 1: do pottery together. Real Missed Opportunity. Although it would have
- 24:08Speaker 1: been three movies so far this year featuring that type
- 24:10Speaker 1: of scene. The poster is really cute, though adorable. It's
- 24:13Speaker 1: my favorite of the year so far. We have a couple.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Did you see that? It's from listener Wayne?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yes, tell me, Wayne says.
- 24:20Speaker 1: When Will gets the handyman job, the director of the
- 24:22Speaker 1: community center, Liz tells him the job is only as
- 24:24Speaker 1: needed as if there isn't much work, and then proceeds
- 24:27Speaker 1: to tell him there's a huge list of tasks he
- 24:29Speaker 1: needs to get on with a bubble.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Dot over an eye. Is that her to do list? No,
- 24:36Speaker 2: it's his to do list. I think it's her to
- 24:38Speaker 2: do list.
- 24:38Speaker 1: No, because it's like set up website and all that,
- 24:41Speaker 1: like order business cards. I oh, oh, interesting, I don't know. Finally,
- 24:49Speaker 1: Wayne says the scene when Will is talking with his
- 24:51Speaker 1: daughter in his apartment, his daughter, Natalie goes to screw
- 24:54Speaker 1: a cover to a light switch on the wall and
- 24:56Speaker 1: then proceeds to run the drill for like twenty seconds
- 24:58Speaker 1: while he says good good. All I kept thinking was
- 25:01Speaker 1: how long is that screw?
- 25:02Speaker 2: I actually thought the same thing. That's funny. It should
- 25:05Speaker 2: have been like yea yea fair. But that scene was
- 25:08Speaker 2: real cute when he's like, you have to do this? Yeah,
- 25:11Speaker 2: I and she does it. I just thought that was
- 25:13Speaker 2: a real adorable I can't knock I. You know me
- 25:15Speaker 2: notoriously don't like children in movies. I thought this girl
- 25:19Speaker 2: was so cute, really sweet, so cute. Hey would you
- 25:22Speaker 2: rate two for tea? I get a four and a
- 25:23Speaker 2: half story I really like it.
