- 0:23SPEAKER_00: So grab your favorite beverage, settle in, and let's craft some connections.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Hello, welcome back to Crafted Connections.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: It's great to have you.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I collect stories from folks in my network and in my community, and I and I share them.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: I also kind of tell my own experience of enhancing my storytelling, enhancing marketing, like leaning into my business, life stories, kind of inspo stories, what have you, but it's all circled and surrounding stories, right?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: I'm a big believer that community is built through connection and connection is built through storytelling.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, in order to have a strong community, you gotta lean into your stories.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: And that's that's what I do here.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: I I get on the mic, I interview people, and I share my own.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: So we are doing something just a tiny bit different here on Crafted Connections.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: So typically I'll release an episode every Thursday-ish, and it'll be either a solo episode where I'm speaking on a topic related to storytelling, related to business, related to lifing, or I will interview a guest and we will have a lovely conversation.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: We'll talk about their story, we'll talk about their their situations, they'll talk about we'll talk about their experiences to kind of connect you with them, to connect them with you, to you know, connect them and me a little bit more.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: It's just a lovely time.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: But we are going to do something I'm calling an on the go episode.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: So back in April, I attended the Grow Conference.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: So I am the fractional chief content officer for Grow We Wo, which is a women's organization that's all about empowering women, changing the status quo of what it's like to be a woman on this planet in this world, building community around that and and learning together, succeeding together, collaborating together is where it's at.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: So I've been able to do that with them for oh my gosh, what is it, September?
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: So it's been nine months now.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Nine months I've been working with them, doing some really, really fun things for the women in in our community.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: So I brought my podcast equipment to the Fort Wayne conference this year, 2025.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: And I set up a booth and I interviewed women and I asked them a few questions, and it was really fun seeing and hearing all the different answers that I got.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna feature all the individuals that I interviewed that day back in April.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, I love these women.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: There were about, gosh, I think I did about 14 interviews that day and to share stories on the go.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: So I hope you enjoy.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Take a listen and see you on the other side, my friends.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Tabitha D.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: And two or three sentences about you, Tabitha.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Two or three sentences about me.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, I am a mom of four, teen mom to CEO, and I own Spark and Soul Design Studio, where I help women bring the Spark and Soul back into their business with an online presence that they're proud to show off so they can stand out, show up, and market themselves with confidence.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: We love that.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Can you tell me about a time in your life that really has had just a massive impact?
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Oh gosh.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: It's hard.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: There's a there's probably a lot, right?
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: But just what popped in your mind first?
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: How do you even pick one?
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Um, I would probably say the time that I was randomly terminated for my job.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Um, I absolutely loved it there.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: I thought it was where I was gonna be forever, and I was praised almost daily, and then all of a sudden on a Friday, hey, they told me we appreciate you and you're doing, you know, amazing.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And then come Monday, they gave me 30 minutes to leave the building.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, no explanation.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: What happened next?
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Well, what happened next was I restarted my business.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Back to CEO.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: I loved it because I had quit and started there because I went through a divorce, and so I was like, I need a real job.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, don't I know it?
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: And so then I was there for almost three years, and like I said, I loved it.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: It was it was amazing.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Basically doing what I was originally doing as my quote business.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: So then I was like, got nothing else to lose, so here we are.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: And six years later, still killing it.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: It adds up.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Your energy still killing it.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: That's that's how I would describe your energy in air quotes, still killing it.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, so then final question will you share with me your definition of alignment?
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: I would say just staying true to yourself, showing up, it just ties back to a lot of like what I do for business.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, because I'm all about like to not lose your personality when you know, branding yourself or whatever, but so really just being in line with what you love to do and the the type of person that you want to be.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: I recently went to a a conference, if you will, and they were like, stop asking what you want to be when you grow up and start asking what kind of person you want to be.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: So, like, like that was like an amazing like moment.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: So it was like, okay, who do I want to be?
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: Like, who do I want to teach my k children to be?
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: What's the legacy behind it all?
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so like just show up as that.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: And to stop putting yourself in the corner and hiding.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Have you felt like you've been able to do that?
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: It's not easy.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: From from awareness to action is not an easy journey.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: I would say here recently and within like the past maybe year has probably been like the biggest growth of of all.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: And like not hiding and doing things like this, just showing up in general.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and having fun.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: We're having fun.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and having fun.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: But yeah, so really it's just for me, it's just about doing really what you enjoy with life.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: Awesome.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate your time, and I am grateful that you sat down in that chair.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, me too.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: It's fun.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: So there you have it.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: It has been women like these women that have put me back together.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: I really had a beautiful Dululu era that was a lot of throwing stuff at a wall and a lot of tripping and falling and failing, frankly.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Failing that I would not have been able to put myself back together from without women like the ones you just heard, right?
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Women like the ones I met at the Fort Wayne conference, ones I'm going to meet at the Anderson conference and speak to and connect with.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: And, you know, just women outside of those circles as well, uh, have really, really put me back together.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: So I'm super pumped for this series.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: I hope you enjoy and find yourself in some of these stories.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Yay! Thanks, friends.
