Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic 94.9. And welcome to
- 0:05Speaker 1: another episode of Scotty and Abby Unfiltered. This could be
- 0:09Speaker 1: a potentially dangerous podcast. Because of what I have to
- 0:12Speaker 1: tell Abby about when it comes to our whole Tampa
- 0:15Speaker 1: Bay Athlete Hall of Fame situation.
- 0:18Speaker 2: You've been teasing this. What is it? Okay, side note.
- 0:20Speaker 2: In the last month, both you and I have started beefs.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I hate it.
- 0:25Speaker 2: With some of the most iconic athletes in Tampa. It's
- 0:28Speaker 2: so crazy. Although, mine's not really a beef. Mine's like
- 0:31Speaker 2: my mom getting in a fight with someone, which I
- 0:33Speaker 2: guess is like a one-sided beef on her end. But
- 0:36Speaker 2: you're in like an active... situation like you want to
- 0:40Speaker 2: give her the recap on.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It yeah so a quick recap because well i don't
- 0:44Speaker 1: know this might be the last time we talk about
- 0:46Speaker 1: it because of what you're about.
- 0:47Speaker 2: To hear with the update you might get a cease
- 0:48Speaker 2: and desist.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Like legitimately so a week ago we hosted a tailgate
- 0:53Speaker 1: for the bucks game and at this tailgate we bring
- 0:56Speaker 1: over listeners and there's food and it's a whole thing
- 0:59Speaker 1: and as i'm in line for food i look over
- 1:02Speaker 1: at the front of the line i go holy shit
- 1:04Speaker 1: that That's that's Warren Sapp.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So, by the way, this is a tailgate for the
- 1:08Speaker 2: Bucks game. And Warren Sapp is a former Bucks player.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So like, oh, that's cool.
- 1:13Speaker 1: They brought out a Bucks player to go say hi
- 1:15Speaker 1: to Bucks fans. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? And I
- 1:19Speaker 1: try to do the cool guy thing. I tell my girlfriend,
- 1:21Speaker 1: I think that's Warren Sapp. She doesn't know. But I'm
- 1:24Speaker 1: trying to look cool in front of her like I know.
- 1:26Speaker 1: And so in my head, and I say this because
- 1:28Speaker 1: it's legit my thought. I'm like, I'm going to go
- 1:30Speaker 1: like it doesn't scare me at all. I'm going to
- 1:32Speaker 1: go say what's up. Because if my girlfriend sees me
- 1:34Speaker 1: do that, that looks really cool.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I don't know. Approach me like you approached Warren Sapp.
- 1:38Speaker 1: So I walked up and I'm like, you're Warren Sapp, right?
- 1:43Speaker 1: You're Warren Sapp. But he looks at me and he goes...
- 1:45Speaker 1: Last time I checked, I was. And I was like,
- 1:47Speaker 1: and it caught me off guard because I was like, look,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I asked that question because God forbid you weren't. And
- 1:53Speaker 1: then this is really awkward. What am I going to
- 1:55Speaker 1: geek out over something that's not him? And at that moment,
- 2:00Speaker 1: I was already in the hole. Because I started stumbling
- 2:02Speaker 1: over my words. I got a little too excited. And again, y'all,
- 2:05Speaker 1: I have high energy. I'm a goofy guy. And we're
- 2:08Speaker 1: around a bunch of listeners. So I'm already at 100.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And I'm like, dude, it is such an honor to
- 2:12Speaker 1: meet you. You're a legend. As soon as I said
- 2:17Speaker 1: it's an honor to meet him. I have comments after
- 2:19Speaker 1: this in just a second. He looks at me and
- 2:21Speaker 1: he's like, You're a grown man. Gonna speak to another
- 2:24Speaker 1: grown man like that?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Are you a grown man, though?
- 2:26Speaker 1: I don't know. Sometimes I feel like I am, and
- 2:28Speaker 1: some days I don't. Because in that moment, I felt
- 2:30Speaker 1: like a little tiny kid. Yeah.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Some days I feel like a grown man.
- 2:35Speaker 1: It's not as fun as it looks.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I know.
- 2:38Speaker 1: But all of a sudden, I was like, oh, my God,
- 2:40Speaker 1: either he's playing with me, he's joking around, or he
- 2:43Speaker 1: is dead ass serious.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And so I kind of keep stumbling. And I'm like, oh, well,
- 2:47Speaker 1: I know. I grew up watching you. My dad and
- 2:49Speaker 1: I would talk. Like, I would love a picture with
- 2:51Speaker 1: you for my dad. And he's like, pretty much no. Like,
- 2:55Speaker 1: absolutely not. And then just told me to get back
- 2:57Speaker 1: in line. He told Alexia, our midday gal, and my girlfriend, Brianda.
- 3:01Speaker 1: They're like, get your boy. get back in line and
- 3:04Speaker 1: I was like you serious like okay and I just
- 3:06Speaker 1: got back in line just humiliated deflated waiting for him
- 3:11Speaker 1: to pull me back in for no nothing so I
- 3:14Speaker 1: got on and I talked about it because at the
- 3:17Speaker 1: tailgate I didn't mention it I don't want to look
- 3:18Speaker 1: like it affected me however like let's just be honest
- 3:21Speaker 1: here this is a vulnerable podcast I felt so stupid
- 3:24Speaker 1: and embarrassed, like humiliated.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and there was really no reason for it.
- 3:28Speaker 1: That's what I thought, too, because then our neighbor in
- 3:30Speaker 1: the hallway, John Senning, and him and I have talked
- 3:32Speaker 1: about this so many times, he goes right after me.
- 3:35Speaker 1: He saw the whole thing goes down, and he went over,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and he's like, oh, I'm John Senning from 102.5 The Bone.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Can I get a picture? Well, then Warren Sapp's like, oh,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you're with the bone. All right, we'll get a picture.
- 3:45Speaker 2: So all of that happens. We talk about it on
- 3:47Speaker 2: the podcast. And then what happens?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Well, then it blows the freak up on Instagram. So
- 3:52Speaker 1: we throw the video up. How many views does it have?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Let me see.
- 3:55Speaker 1: It's at 30K right now. Okay. But the shares are ridiculous.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And as soon as I saw the shares, I thought
- 4:00Speaker 1: to myself, this is going to get to that man.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Well, I think it's probably because everybody has a story
- 4:07Speaker 2: about him. Like, that's what we saw in the comments
- 4:09Speaker 2: was everyone was like, oh, yeah, that happened to me.
- 4:12Speaker 2: This happened to me with my five-year-old. And so you're
- 4:15Speaker 2: not isolated in this experience, I think. So, yeah, 31K,
- 4:19Speaker 2: 171 shares.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Well, as the weekend began, I saw a new notification
- 4:27Speaker 1: pop up on my phone. And ding, Warren Sapp. Check mark.
- 4:33Speaker 1: His actual Instagram has now seen the video and oh,
- 4:35Speaker 1: you already know, he left a comment.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And what'd he say?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Let me pull it up. Because I started losing my mind.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I was like, there's no way this man actually saw
- 4:42Speaker 1: the video.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Not us being in a public Tampa beef. That's what
- 4:45Speaker 2: I'm saying. Oh my God, are we relevant?
- 4:47Speaker 1: Are we relevant? There's like two sides of the thought
- 4:49Speaker 1: because I'm like, oh my God, are we at that
- 4:52Speaker 1: level where people actually care? That's kind of cool. And
- 4:56Speaker 1: he's big mad. Like it's not even like a ha ha. No,
- 5:00Speaker 1: he's actually like, super mad about the situation. So let
- 5:04Speaker 1: me go ahead. And as everyone's, this is where it
- 5:06Speaker 1: sucks because a weird part of me like feels bad.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Is that weird? What do you feel bad about?
- 5:12Speaker 1: I feel bad that like one, all these comments, if
- 5:15Speaker 1: you go through that video, it's just roast after roast.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I mean, I just spoke my truth. That's how I
- 5:20Speaker 1: live on this. So I don't know where this story goes.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I don't know where this podcast and what ears hear it.
- 5:24Speaker 1: This is my truth. I just speak it. Warren Sapp
- 5:27Speaker 1: pops up in the comments, he says, Wow, thank God
- 5:30Speaker 1: I have the video. Little white lie. B.I. at.
- 5:34Speaker 2: What'd he call you?
- 5:35Speaker 1: I don't know. B.I. at gonna post what was said.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I think what I gathered from that comment was he
- 5:45Speaker 2: says that he also has a video, and so he's
- 5:47Speaker 2: gonna set the record straight. But I'm like, nobody else
- 5:49Speaker 2: has that video except for Alexia.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and honestly... In my head, I'm like, show it.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm not making this up, y'all. And even if maybe, like,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I got a couple words wrong, like, I'm telling you,
- 6:00Speaker 1: this is authentically what I saw, what I heard, and
- 6:03Speaker 1: how I felt.
- 6:03Speaker 2: That's how, that's why I felt comfortable posting that, because
- 6:06Speaker 2: we have a video of it happening.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And we, I think his face expression said it all.
- 6:11Speaker 2: And you wouldn't, all you said was it hurt your feelings. Like,
- 6:15Speaker 2: this is what he said and hurt your feelings.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Correct. And that was my truth. I saw the comment.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I was like, oh, great. So this man now thinks
- 6:22Speaker 1: that I'm coming after him. But it gets worse. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: told Javi, I was like, look who's in the comments.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Pull it up, pull it up.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And then I started getting the DMs.
- 6:31Speaker 2: From him?
- 6:32Speaker 1: From him.
- 6:33Speaker 2: He slid into your DMs?
- 6:35Speaker 1: This is where it's so weird.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Why are you talking to more athletes in your DMs
- 6:37Speaker 2: than me? This is not how it's supposed to go.
- 6:40Speaker 2: It's so crazy.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'm like, if I would have told myself at like
- 6:44Speaker 1: 11 years old that I would be DMing a Hall
- 6:47Speaker 1: of Fame football player, I would have simply died.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Okay, so what do you say?
- 6:52Speaker 1: I wish she was like, it was nice. It's not nice.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's so funny. When we talk about my DMs, it's
- 6:57Speaker 2: just like, I can't believe I drunk texted Jared from blah, blah, blah.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Blah, blah. Let me say this. So there are four
- 7:05Speaker 1: new messages I haven't opened because I decided I'm not
- 7:08Speaker 1: going back and forth with them anymore. But I did
- 7:10Speaker 1: go back and forth in the beginning. So he might
- 7:12Speaker 1: hear this. I don't know. I almost... We have something
- 7:16Speaker 1: weird that doesn't need to be weird. Like, I'm not
- 7:18Speaker 1: trying to make this weird.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Okay. Stop edging us. Give us a message.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Oh, it's way more than that.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Oh, shit. Wait, did you not even open up something?
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because I stopped replying because I was like.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Oh, so this is a play-by-play.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Holy shit. Okay, I just saw, like, 20 new messages.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 7:34Speaker 2: All right. All right.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Can I be honest? Like, I'm actually really nervous. So, like,
- 7:38Speaker 1: just gonna... Okay, deep breath. Say message me.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Welcome to the starting lineup. It's the NFL game. It's
- 7:45Speaker 2: Warren Sapp versus Scott Wood. I'm not going against him.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I hugged.
- 7:50Speaker 1: He says, you really told that lie? 26K followers are
- 7:55Speaker 1: about to learn the lies you tell.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Hey, that's kind of a compliment. Because he wouldn't call
- 8:00Speaker 2: out your followers if he didn't think that you heard
- 8:02Speaker 2: a lot. He's like, 26,000 people are about to find out.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, so God, I'm so anxious reading this.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I'm so dumb though. I was like, would you be
- 8:12Speaker 1: down for a call with the show? I'd appreciate hearing
- 8:15Speaker 1: your point of view.
- 8:16Speaker 2: My guy, you got to work up to it.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That was just my, well, cause I went, I was like,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I could either push back that it wasn't a lie
- 8:22Speaker 1: or I'm like, let's just set the record straight. And
- 8:25Speaker 1: what I'm doing here is I'm trying to see like
- 8:26Speaker 1: you being serious, serious, or like you just trying to
- 8:28Speaker 1: like ruffle some feathers. I was like, look, you could
- 8:31Speaker 1: come on the show and share your point of view.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Cause honestly, I'd love it. If you're going to call
- 8:35Speaker 1: it a lie, then share your point of view. And
- 8:39Speaker 1: then he started tagging what he said. He said, you know, I,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I said how a grown man talks to another grown man.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I said that he goes on to say, how old
- 8:47Speaker 1: are you? And then he was like, you want me
- 8:49Speaker 1: to do a call with the show? Are you paying?
- 8:52Speaker 1: And then he said, this is why I kind of like,
- 8:54Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, I get a little anxious. He's like,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you have 30 minutes to take it down. I was like, Oh, Oh, what?
- 9:01Speaker 1: Like why? Then I just replied back. I was like,
- 9:06Speaker 1: The show would be an opportunity to clear the air
- 9:08Speaker 1: and bring our listeners your thoughts. No hard feelings either way.
- 9:12Speaker 2: But I mean, still like that, if you really want
- 9:14Speaker 2: to set the record straight or, you know, say how
- 9:16Speaker 2: you feel like this is why you responded. Because listen,
- 9:19Speaker 2: I actually think that would be very compelling because nobody,
- 9:23Speaker 2: unless you're a celebrity, knows what it's like to constantly
- 9:25Speaker 2: hear that kind of stuff. Correct. And maybe he's just
- 9:27Speaker 2: over it. Maybe he's like, why are all these people
- 9:28Speaker 2: bowing down to me? And so when you came up
- 9:31Speaker 2: to him, that was a response. that's so interesting and
- 9:34Speaker 2: compelling and it makes people like you more rather than
- 9:36Speaker 2: just being like take it down yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Like i'm like why do you want me to take
- 9:39Speaker 1: it down and like if you think i'm lying like
- 9:41Speaker 1: i'd rather you put the like let's have the conversation
- 9:44Speaker 1: then yeah because maybe i did mishear it i don't
- 9:46Speaker 1: think i did i don't think brianda or alexia misheard
- 9:49Speaker 1: it either yeah but let's let's have the conversation it's
- 9:52Speaker 1: weird to have beef with a hall of famer i'm
- 9:53Speaker 1: just i'm just a little.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Radio host man that's kind of cool you have beef
- 9:56Speaker 2: with a hall of famer it's.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Freaking crazy but that's when i stopped replying because i
- 10:00Speaker 1: was like, okay, I'm done.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And then what did he say?
- 10:02Speaker 1: Oh, God. So all these messages are about to be new.
- 10:04Speaker 2: So he hasn't read this. You haven't read this yet.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I have not read what's about to be pulled up.
- 10:08Speaker 1: So this could actually.
- 10:11Speaker 2: How long is it?
- 10:14Speaker 1: I'm going to... Oh, God.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 10:16Speaker 1: It's literally like a whole screen worth of messages.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Just put it away from the camera.
- 10:19Speaker 1: All right.
- 10:19Speaker 2: You ready? Oh, my God. That's like crazy ex-girlfriend level
- 10:26Speaker 2: of messaging. That's like 20 different lines of messaging.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That's a whole.
- 10:33Speaker 2: You guys, if he screenshot... The messages right now, it
- 10:37Speaker 2: would take up the whole iPhone screen.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so I don't know if I'm going to read
- 10:40Speaker 1: every single message.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Okay, you tell me what to edit out, and I'll
- 10:44Speaker 2: edit it out. But just go through it.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Let's just go through. So it says, after I said,
- 10:48Speaker 1: no hard feelings either way. He says, nah, I have
- 10:50Speaker 1: the video and you're lying. No need for me to
- 10:52Speaker 1: help your show. You're lying and you know. Oh, it's
- 10:55Speaker 1: kind of rapping. You said, it's a pleasure to meet...
- 10:59Speaker 1: And my reply was.
- 11:00Speaker 2: We have to turn this into the WAP. The WAP rap.
- 11:02Speaker 2: We have to continue it.
- 11:04Speaker 1: He goes back and he says, I replied and I
- 11:06Speaker 1: said the pleasure was all mine. And I said it
- 11:08Speaker 1: was a pleasure to meet him. Maybe he did. I
- 11:09Speaker 1: didn't hear that because it was loud. He said, you
- 11:12Speaker 1: remember the first thing you said? Or was the alcohol
- 11:14Speaker 1: already flowing through your kidneys? Son, you had no clue
- 11:16Speaker 1: I was recording you. I saw it coming. So clock ticking.
- 11:19Speaker 2: You saw what coming?
- 11:22Speaker 1: He saw, I guess that. I don't know that I
- 11:24Speaker 1: was going to try to have a got you moment.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I was going in to get a picture and like
- 11:28Speaker 1: show it to my dad.
- 11:29Speaker 2: This man was not recording. Okay, continue.
- 11:31Speaker 1: So he says, stop lying to your listeners. You know
- 11:33Speaker 1: what happened. I asked you if you was taught to
- 11:36Speaker 1: ask that way. Simple as that. You have no home training.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I'm calling you and your parents to the front of
- 11:42Speaker 1: the room with the video since you wouldn't remove your
- 11:45Speaker 1: lying ass video. And I just got Wednesday episode. Think
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'm going to call my representatives. Damn.
- 11:51Speaker 2: So he listened to the podcast.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Damn.
- 11:54Speaker 2: He listened to the podcast.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Here's the thing. Like you didn't lie and we have
- 12:00Speaker 2: it on video. If he has it on video, which
- 12:02Speaker 2: he doesn't, he then post it or like, you know
- 12:06Speaker 2: what I mean? Like he does. There's no recording that
- 12:08Speaker 2: he has. We have the recording.
- 12:10Speaker 1: And that's the thing. Like as I was looking at
- 12:11Speaker 1: his DMs and his messages, I'm like, dude, I literally
- 12:14Speaker 1: want no beef with you. My job is to share
- 12:17Speaker 1: my life. You happen to become part of it. You
- 12:20Speaker 1: gave me an experience that was unpleasant. That is not
- 12:23Speaker 1: me trying to make up a story. That was the story.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And it could end there, but the fact that we're
- 12:28Speaker 1: doing this back and forth thing, that's why I'm not replying.
- 12:30Speaker 2: So hypothetically, if he sues us, is he suing CMG or...
- 12:34Speaker 2: Because this is technically a CMG podcast.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Correct. Are we protected?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Do we have lawyers?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I think we have all that representation. Because
- 12:42Speaker 1: I'm like, there's no lawsuit that could be made.
- 12:44Speaker 2: That would be really funny, though.
- 12:46Speaker 1: That would be crazy.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Can you imagine?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yes, I could. Because as I was going through that,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I had all these spiraling thoughts on Friday. I was like,
- 12:53Speaker 1: he's going to want to beat me up. And then
- 12:55Speaker 1: he's going to sue me. And I'm like, you know what? No,
- 12:57Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Okay, he's not going to do any of those things.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I don't think so either.
- 12:59Speaker 2: The man has braces.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Everybody disses this man for braces. He's just trying to
- 13:04Speaker 1: have a good smile. You're a grown man.
- 13:06Speaker 2: You're a grown man with braces. That's what I would
- 13:08Speaker 2: like to say.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I just don't know where he's trying to come at me.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And listen, side note, because he'll listen to this. It
- 13:12Speaker 2: is totally fine for you to take care of your
- 13:14Speaker 2: dental and oral health.
- 13:15Speaker 1: No, he's a good looking dude.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You're a good looking man. We like you, Warren Sapp.
- 13:17Speaker 2: We want to like you, Warren Sapp.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I want to like you. Like, that's the thing. I
- 13:20Speaker 1: literally went up to you and was like, it's an
- 13:22Speaker 1: honor to meet you. And that's the part I think
- 13:24Speaker 1: that bothered me. It's like, you're a grown man. I'm like,
- 13:26Speaker 1: I am. But I also, I watched you as a kid. Like,
- 13:28Speaker 1: we all have those people that we looked up to
- 13:30Speaker 1: when we were growing up. And so how else am
- 13:32Speaker 1: I supposed to respond? Hey, hey brother, you and I
- 13:34Speaker 1: are on the same level. We're not. You're literally a
- 13:36Speaker 1: Hall of Famer. I wanted to say what's up.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you're kind of damned if you do, damned if
- 13:40Speaker 2: you don't. Like what am I supposed to say? It's
- 13:43Speaker 2: not an honor?
- 13:43Speaker 1: Oh, those are the comments that I wanted to get
- 13:46Speaker 1: into too because we posted that video and because of
- 13:49Speaker 1: that one sentence I said, because I did say that.
- 13:51Speaker 1: It's an honor to meet you. Isn't that what we say?
- 13:54Speaker 1: People in the comments started to try to get on
- 13:56Speaker 1: that train of like, why are you saying it's an
- 13:58Speaker 1: honor to meet him? What are you doing? You're a
- 14:01Speaker 1: grown man. I'm like.
- 14:02Speaker 2: You were just trying to be nice. Literally.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Like, okay. Hey. Maybe let me change the sentence. It's
- 14:08Speaker 1: nice to meet you. It's the same fucking sentence. Guys.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It's the same sentence. But it really was. It was
- 14:13Speaker 1: an honor to meet him. Because I've looked up to
- 14:16Speaker 1: you since I was a kid playing football. Now not
- 14:18Speaker 1: so much. Now we have a weird thing going back
- 14:20Speaker 1: and forth with DMs.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Your intent was also to be kind to this man. Like,
- 14:23Speaker 2: I understand... I mean, listen, the Internet will pick apart
- 14:27Speaker 2: and rip apart anything you say. I mean, go on
- 14:29Speaker 2: my TikTok right now. I don't even look at my
- 14:31Speaker 2: comments anymore because I'm like, ultimately, I don't really care
- 14:35Speaker 2: what people are saying. I like the content that I posted.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I posted it for a reason. If people are going
- 14:39Speaker 2: to pick apart things that I say, it's just not
- 14:41Speaker 2: really my business because it's just people trying to rage
- 14:43Speaker 2: bait you. Like, it's just people trying to get you mad.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And I don't want you don't give people that power.
- 14:48Speaker 1: That's a good point, because I did have a moment.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I was looking through those comments. I was like. I
- 14:52Speaker 1: never do this. I never go back and forth in
- 14:53Speaker 1: the comments. But I had that little monster rise up
- 14:55Speaker 1: and was like, go after them.
- 14:57Speaker 2: You're giving them what they want. They want you to
- 14:59Speaker 2: be mad. They are pointless losers in their basement wanting
- 15:03Speaker 2: someone to talk to them.
- 15:04Speaker 1: God. You know what I hated, though? It felt so
- 15:07Speaker 1: toxic masculinity in the comments. Again, I'm a masculine dude.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I stand up for dudes being dudes. But then you're
- 15:13Speaker 1: coming after me for saying that it's an honor to
- 15:15Speaker 1: meet another man. Y'all, chill out. Just relax for a second.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Because you would say the same thing if you met
- 15:21Speaker 1: somebody that you looked up to as well. But that's weird,
- 15:24Speaker 1: because now I don't know what to do about that.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I feel like I've got to bring that up with
- 15:27Speaker 1: the company. Are you going to bring somebody after me?
- 15:29Speaker 2: I mean, we should maybe tell somebody, hey, you might
- 15:31Speaker 2: have Warren Sapp's representatives coming after us.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I don't know. That would be so crazy.
- 15:36Speaker 2: But I feel like any good lawyer would be like, dude,
- 15:39Speaker 2: look at these hobos.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Look at these jokers sitting in the studio.
- 15:42Speaker 2: And their bright pink mics. They have no money. What
- 15:44Speaker 2: are you going to do? The most he would probably
- 15:47Speaker 2: do is send a cease and desist and ask you
- 15:50Speaker 2: to like, I don't know. I don't even know because
- 15:53Speaker 2: you didn't lie.
- 15:54Speaker 1: That's exactly it. I'm like, I just shared my perspective.
- 15:56Speaker 1: And what was interesting is somebody messaged me. They're like, oh,
- 15:58Speaker 1: he has the video. I was like, have you seen it? Yeah.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Where's the video?
- 16:02Speaker 1: I was like, I haven't seen it yet.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Also, look at the video where you can see him.
- 16:05Speaker 2: There's no he's not recording. I'm looking at him. I
- 16:08Speaker 2: can see his hands.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I would love the footage. I would love to see it.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I really would. I don't think you want to share
- 16:15Speaker 1: it because it looks really bad. It's just and maybe
- 16:18Speaker 1: again you're joking, but like it was again. It was
- 16:20Speaker 1: just mean it was just mean I moved on it's
- 16:23Speaker 1: fine like I'm good It's just kind.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Of weird, so I'm I'm rewatching the video okay, so
- 16:28Speaker 2: in his right hand He has a beverage and then
- 16:32Speaker 2: in his left hand. He has a towel So I
- 16:36Speaker 2: want to know what he's recording on.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Is he on his glasses somebody said he had the Ray-Bans.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Oh the meta glasses. Yeah, let me see Well, Ray-Bans
- 16:44Speaker 2: aren't the same thing as Metaglasses. These don't look like Meta...
- 16:47Speaker 2: They look like Metaglasses. Yeah, yeah. They don't look like
- 16:50Speaker 2: they are Metaglasses, though. Oh.
- 16:53Speaker 1: He might have been. Again, I'd rather the video be
- 16:55Speaker 1: out there and we could put an end to this discussion.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But it is kind of crazy.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I wish Alexei hadn't stopped recording.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I know. I know. Now we know. Just keep the
- 17:02Speaker 1: video going. But I don't think we're going to get
- 17:04Speaker 1: many interactions like that. That was a one-off. That was a... Well,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I hope not. Two.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Two Tampa Bay sports beefs in one month is pretty wild.
- 17:14Speaker 1: We're doing something good, all right? Are we? Well, I
- 17:17Speaker 1: don't know about good, but talk-worthy. It's been so wild
- 17:20Speaker 1: how many people have talked to me about that. People
- 17:23Speaker 1: have hopped up in the comments. I'm like, look, I
- 17:25Speaker 1: don't want to spread bad things about somebody.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I just told what happened.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Moral of this whole saga between my mom starting a
- 17:33Speaker 2: fight and you unintentionally starting a fight, just don't talk
- 17:36Speaker 2: to Tampa Bay athletes.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Damn, that's the hard truth.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Leave him alone.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I'm trying to think, like, who would actually be nice, though? Like,
- 17:41Speaker 1: if I saw Baker Mayfield out, I would want to say, hey.
- 17:43Speaker 2: He can't shake his hand because his thumb is dislocated.
- 17:46Speaker 1: He's got a bad thumb.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Got to dab him up.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Any other athlete? I mean, no.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Who would, okay, if you could approach any Tampa Bay
- 17:52Speaker 2: athlete and you know it would be a good interaction,
- 17:56Speaker 2: who would you want to approach? Who would you want
- 17:57Speaker 2: to have a conversation with?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Ooh, that's a good question.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Guaranteed good time.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Guaranteed good time, probably.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Current Tampa, somebody on a team right now.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I was going to say, I mean, Baker Mayfield would
- 18:07Speaker 1: be one, but I feel like that's a throwaway. But
- 18:09Speaker 1: I feel like him and I could bro out.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 18:10Speaker 1: He's a bro's bro. The other one that I think
- 18:13Speaker 1: would be more normal would be like Brayden Point on
- 18:15Speaker 1: the Lightning.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Why him?
- 18:17Speaker 1: Because he just seems like a normal dude. He's really
- 18:19Speaker 1: good at a sport. He's fast. He's not somebody that's
- 18:22Speaker 1: normally getting into a bunch of fights on the ice. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:25Speaker 1: He's just really good.
- 18:26Speaker 2: He does seem very normal.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think, again, this is going to sound weird,
- 18:30Speaker 1: but I would want to say Vassie on the lightning,
- 18:33Speaker 1: the goalie.
- 18:33Speaker 2: He would be funny, but here's the thing. I could
- 18:35Speaker 2: never meet him because I would just be trying to
- 18:37Speaker 2: do his Russian accent back to him the whole time.
- 18:39Speaker 1: That would be it.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I'd be like, do you have the belief this season? Also,
- 18:43Speaker 2: he really pissed me off the last game I saw.
- 18:45Speaker 1: He like.
- 18:46Speaker 2: there was an easy get that what the Panthers got
- 18:48Speaker 2: and he just like let him slide. I was like, dude, Dude.
- 18:52Speaker 1: He could bring that up when you meet him. He
- 18:53Speaker 1: would be nice. I think he would be nice, but
- 18:55Speaker 1: it would be hard to have a full-on conversation because
- 18:59Speaker 1: English is not the first back-and-forth language for him. But
- 19:02Speaker 1: Brighton Point would be cool, and I can't name anybody
- 19:04Speaker 1: on the Rays. I really can't.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I couldn't name a single person on the Rays. The
- 19:09Speaker 2: only people I know on the Bucs are Baker Mayfield.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Is Mike Evans still on the team?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Not anymore. He left. He would have been a nice
- 19:17Speaker 1: one to meet. There's a couple cool defensive players that
- 19:23Speaker 1: would be cool to meet.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, maybe Cooch. Oh, yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Off the lightning. He would be cool.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Cooch would be fun.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Hockey players. And this is just, you know, what a
- 19:32Speaker 1: privilege it is to say this. But when you get to.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You got to stop hyping them up this month. Apparently,
- 19:36Speaker 2: they hate it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Oh, they hate the.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Well, because you know how you're like, oh, it's such
- 19:39Speaker 2: an honor to meet them?
- 19:39Speaker 1: No, no. Oh, okay.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 1: It's not an honor to meet them. But I will say, like,
- 19:42Speaker 1: they're super chill. Like, when we went to the arena
- 19:46Speaker 1: to do a couple interviews with the old hockey players, older... Oh, who.
- 19:50Speaker 2: who did we talk to for game two? Because I
- 19:54Speaker 2: think he does, he either does or used to do
- 19:56Speaker 2: their podcast. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I want to say
- 20:00Speaker 2: it's like Ryan McLaughlin.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Nope, nope.
- 20:03Speaker 2: What's his name?
- 20:03Speaker 1: You're thinking of Ryan McDonough, but it's not him. Yeah.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I'm also thinking of The Big Rig. What's his name?
- 20:11Speaker 1: Damn it. It's not going to come to me.
- 20:12Speaker 2: The old guy?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Hang on.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I'm going into the archives.
- 20:13Speaker 1: No, not the old guy.
- 20:14Speaker 2: She's pregnant.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Oh, Mazel Tov.
- 20:17Speaker 2: My friend is pregnant. That's crazy.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Tis the season. I guess if you want to have
- 20:22Speaker 1: a spring baby, you do it now. Do the math.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I don't want to. Go ahead.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Think of it.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Archives. That's crazy.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You know what's crazy? Just to go back for a second.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He's probably going to listen to every podcast going forward.
- 20:36Speaker 2: He becomes our P1.
- 20:37Speaker 1: He's a big fan. I told him, come on, just
- 20:40Speaker 1: talk about it.
- 20:40Speaker 2: His lawyers are going to become P1s of ours.
- 20:42Speaker 1: God, bless America.
- 20:44Speaker 2: They're just waiting for us to fuck up.
- 20:46Speaker 1: We don't. We just talk. That's literally it.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Hang on. Oh, this was such a fun game. Remember
- 20:50Speaker 2: when you got in that little bro brawl with Thunderbug?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, with Thunderbug.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Where is Thundee?
- 20:56Speaker 1: He's getting ready for the season.
- 20:57Speaker 2: He's busy. Who took that video of him cheating? coming
- 21:01Speaker 2: up on stage at Scotty and Addie Live, he scared
- 21:04Speaker 2: the shit out of me. Did you see that video
- 21:06Speaker 2: of me?
- 21:06Speaker 1: No, not that one.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I literally looked like I shat my pants. I wasn't
- 21:10Speaker 2: expecting him, and then he just gets all up in
- 21:11Speaker 2: my face. I was like, oh my god.
- 21:13Speaker 1: You're like, I was not expecting you. Hi.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Hello. Welcome. Oh, here we go.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I had to find the post. So, oh yeah, we
- 21:20Speaker 2: posted it. It was my roster.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Did we not tag him? God, we're so dumb. Why
- 21:26Speaker 2: did we not tag this man? I don't know.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I don't know if I knew his tag.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I don't know who... It's like Ryan McLaughlin.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I don't think that's the name.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I swear, his name is like Ryan McDonough.
- 21:40Speaker 1: No, that's another player. There was another one that used
- 21:44Speaker 1: to play for the Lightning. That's super nice. He does
- 21:46Speaker 1: a lot of shows with the Bone. I can't think
- 21:48Speaker 1: of his name, but we've had him in the studio.
- 21:51Speaker 1: It's not going to come to me. Anyway, they're usually
- 21:52Speaker 1: really chill to talk to. Those are the guys that...
- 21:54Speaker 1: I think they're just so concussed.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Damn.
- 21:57Speaker 1: More concussed or less concussed than football players?
- 22:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I'm going to say less.
- 22:01Speaker 2: The funny thing is, is like, I feel like hockey,
- 22:04Speaker 2: you don't really need to get concussed. No. But they
- 22:06Speaker 2: just start, they're just giving each other CTE.
- 22:08Speaker 1: They do it just because it's fun.
- 22:10Speaker 2: They're just mad. So they're like, you know what? Get
- 22:12Speaker 2: on the ground.
- 22:14Speaker 1: They choose to actually have the violence. For football, it's
- 22:16Speaker 1: like you're literally banging your head into each other over
- 22:18Speaker 1: and over again.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:19Speaker 1: He's like, well, we haven't hit each other in a while.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and swing hands.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I just feel like someone's going through like a bad breakup.
- 22:25Speaker 2: They're like, just let me. We swing a little.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's kind of how off campus was. It's like, I'm
- 22:29Speaker 1: going to take this opportunity to get all my rage
- 22:32Speaker 1: out on you, sir.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And it is funny. I'll see videos of the like
- 22:37Speaker 2: pop up on my TikTok or something. And I'm fully
- 22:40Speaker 2: expecting all the women in the comments to be like,
- 22:41Speaker 2: I can't believe we're normalizing this. But I think women,
- 22:44Speaker 2: we see it. We're like, yeah, it's fine.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Kind of into it. Yeah, we're into it. I like
- 22:48Speaker 1: that more women have gone online and been like. I
- 22:50Speaker 1: like it. I like it. Boys, men... Just keep it
- 22:53Speaker 1: on the ice. Yeah. You know? No, yeah. When it
- 22:55Speaker 1: gets off the ice, then it's uncomfortable. Like, why are
- 22:57Speaker 1: you fighting outside of, like, a.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you're a grown man. You're a grown man.
- 23:00Speaker 1: You're a grown man fighting.
- 23:01Speaker 2: You're a grown man fighting.
- 23:02Speaker 1: You're a grown man in my DMs.
- 23:03Speaker 2: What do you think we are? You're a grown man
- 23:04Speaker 2: in my DMs?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Why is Warren Sapp a grown man starting to fight
- 23:08Speaker 2: with you in the DMs?
- 23:09Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't want any beef. I really don't.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I don't care about it anymore. It was just, like,
- 23:13Speaker 1: a day after kind of just recapping the day. Like,
- 23:15Speaker 1: it should be dead, done, over with. But here we are.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I'm sure... I am sure we're going to have some
- 23:21Speaker 1: kind of meeting about it. I'm almost positive.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Look at us. Who would have thought?
- 23:27Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 23:28Speaker 2: We've been here four months.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And already having.
- 23:31Speaker 2: And we already have more interesting beef than any station.
- 23:35Speaker 1: That's it. That's what we bring.
- 23:36Speaker 2: In the CMD cluster.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I don't know what that says about us.
- 23:39Speaker 2: We have beef with our own stations.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Damn.
- 23:41Speaker 2: TBT.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Wait a second. Are we the problem? Are we?
- 23:45Speaker 2: The problem is we're not. Oh. Because like, for example,
- 23:48Speaker 2: so obviously we didn't do anything with the bone and
- 23:52Speaker 2: they came at us.
- 23:52Speaker 1: That's true. We were just doing our thing.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I mean, we did post the podcast, but whatever. That's
- 23:56Speaker 2: what we're supposed to do.
- 23:57Speaker 1: We did our jobs, people.
- 23:58Speaker 2: We did our jobs. We did our jobs. And then
- 24:00Speaker 2: my mom started a fight with the guys at the
- 24:04Speaker 2: dive bar.
- 24:05Speaker 1: On one of the teams some athletes.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And then but so that didn't involve me that was
- 24:09Speaker 2: all my mom it's other people never got an apology
- 24:11Speaker 2: for that by the way um and then you unintentionally
- 24:17Speaker 2: got in a fight with warren sapp hall of famer.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Weird would have never put that on the bingo card
- 24:21Speaker 1: for this year never would have thought who's next a
- 24:24Speaker 1: beef with the i'm trying to think i like cheat.
- 24:27Speaker 2: On thunderbug with with gritty Oh, that's wrong.
- 24:31Speaker 1: That's wrong.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Listen, I love following the Gritty account.
- 24:34Speaker 1: That's funny. Oh, no, you can't do it with another
- 24:37Speaker 1: mascot from a rival team because then our own people
- 24:40Speaker 1: will get mad.
- 24:40Speaker 2: That's so true.
- 24:41Speaker 1: But if there's one team that you could do it
- 24:42Speaker 1: with in the Florida area, that would actually rally up people.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I don't know what the mascot is over in Florida.
- 24:48Speaker 1: The Panthers, they probably have a cat.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Oh, I thought you were going to say maybe the
- 24:52Speaker 2: Bucks or the Rays.
- 24:54Speaker 1: No, because then they're all fans. But you could get
- 24:55Speaker 1: really close with the Rays.
- 24:57Speaker 2: The Rays mascots make no sense to me.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Have we talked about this before?
- 25:01Speaker 1: I don't know if we've gotten into full detail because
- 25:03Speaker 1: I did look it up a little bit. I'm trying
- 25:04Speaker 1: to figure out.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I'm going to ask Dr. GPT.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Yeah, producer.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Explain the Rays mascots to me. Also, why have we
- 25:14Speaker 2: become a Tampa Bay Sports podcast?
- 25:16Speaker 1: I know. We talk about it in a different angle.
- 25:19Speaker 1: And all these other podcasts in the area, they don't
- 25:22Speaker 1: have beef like we have beef. Never thought that would
- 25:24Speaker 1: be the sentence.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Okay, I said, explain the Tampa Bay Rays mascots to me,
- 25:29Speaker 2: because they have three.
- 25:29Speaker 1: They have three.
- 25:30Speaker 2: They have an actual Stingray, who's kind of like the most,
- 25:33Speaker 2: he looks like Justin Bieber, but with a Rays cap on,
- 25:36Speaker 2: because he's like wearing white skinny jeans.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he's just a regular Stingray.
- 25:39Speaker 2: And then the cat, but he's a DJ.
- 25:42Speaker 1: DJ Kitty.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Like, why is he a DJ? I don't know. And
- 25:45Speaker 2: then the big fluffy blue guy.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Raymond! That's the actual one.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Why is his name Raymond?
- 25:51Speaker 1: And why does he not look like a stingray? I
- 25:52Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Okay, the Rays have three mascot characters, and the confusing
- 25:56Speaker 2: part is that their main mascot isn't actually a Ray. Yes,
- 26:00Speaker 2: Raymond is the big blue furry one. The team says
- 26:02Speaker 2: he's a sea dog. What? It's a made-up species discovered- Wait,
- 26:08Speaker 2: this makes no sense. A made-up species discovered in the
- 26:11Speaker 2: Gulf of Mexico? So, is he made up or was
- 26:15Speaker 2: he discovered in the Gulf of Mexico? Ha ha ha!
- 26:17Speaker 1: We discovered him fictionally.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Also, people in the comments, it's Gulf of America now.
- 26:22Speaker 2: He's been around since the Rays' first season in 1998. Damn.
- 26:27Speaker 2: And then there's DJ Kitty, which sounds strangely pornographic.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Oh, Jesus.
- 26:33Speaker 2: DJ Kitty.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Oh, I got it.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Is the cat in the Ray's cap. He started as
- 26:39Speaker 2: a video board joke in 2010 and became a costume
- 26:42Speaker 2: mascot after fans loved him. And then Stinger is the.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Stinger?
- 26:46Speaker 2: So why is Raymond not the Ray?
- 26:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Raymond should become the Ray, but Raymond's a made-up
- 26:52Speaker 1: sea monster, sea dog.
- 26:54Speaker 2: From the Gulf of America.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Gulf of America, Gulf of Mexico.
- 26:57Speaker 2: So Stinger is the actual Stingray. He's associated with the
- 26:59Speaker 2: Ray's touch tank and is the one with the wide
- 27:02Speaker 2: flat head and face. So in shorthand, Raymond Seadog. DJ Kitty,
- 27:07Speaker 2: internet famous cat, Stinger. Right.
- 27:10Speaker 1: The internet famous cat is the best part. Have you
- 27:12Speaker 1: seen that video, right? Of like the little cat and
- 27:14Speaker 1: like doing the, it was like a meme. Yeah. DJ.
- 27:17Speaker 1: And I think it had a raise hat on. That's
- 27:19Speaker 1: why it went viral for the raise. Oh, and it
- 27:21Speaker 1: was like this little cat DJ and you know, not literally,
- 27:24Speaker 1: but somebody.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Was holding her cat. So they had two and they're like,
- 27:25Speaker 2: why not? Why not a third?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Why not add stinger? What?
- 27:28Speaker 2: I mean, is there anything more Florida than a throuple?
- 27:30Speaker 1: So I mean, Hey, when in Florida do as the
- 27:33Speaker 1: Floridians do and they are, they're the only ones that
- 27:35Speaker 1: are actually representing the state fully. It is weird. The
- 27:38Speaker 1: other ones make sense. Well, okay, yeah, no, Thunderbug makes sense.
- 27:43Speaker 1: He's a lightning bug.
- 27:45Speaker 2: He's a lightning bug.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Captain Fear makes sense because he's a pirate.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Captain Fear is objectively a horrible name.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Can you imagine?
- 27:53Speaker 2: You're in a horror film, and let's say in a
- 27:55Speaker 2: theoretical universe, it's like the Tampa Bay Rays, and they're
- 27:58Speaker 2: like the pirates, and they're invading the Vikings. And they're like,
- 28:03Speaker 2: you better talk to my little friend, Captain Fear.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Feeder?
- 28:09Speaker 2: He's going to make you so afraid.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Be very afraid. That's why Feeder's in the name.
- 28:13Speaker 2: He should be Captain Raymond.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Oh my.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Because it's at Raymond James Stadium. But Raymond is objectively
- 28:19Speaker 2: not like a scary name.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Raymond's not scary at all.
- 28:21Speaker 2: They got to be like Captain... What's like the worst
- 28:24Speaker 2: thing that can happen to a player?
- 28:27Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Captain Torn ACL. He's going to come up and fuck
- 28:32Speaker 2: up your knees.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Ruin your season in one play.
- 28:35Speaker 2: How do you think you got this peg leg?
- 28:39Speaker 1: Poor captain fear walk.
- 28:40Speaker 2: The do the plank The most compelling Player or not
- 28:51Speaker 2: player thunderbugs made such a name for themselves in this
- 28:54Speaker 2: area like he'd be buzzing you'd be busting and buzzing
- 28:58Speaker 2: Busting when you throw that thing back like hey, there's
- 29:01Speaker 2: a reason named mascot of the year in the NHL
- 29:03Speaker 2: Always doing the very most Yeah, I don't know what
- 29:06Speaker 2: the other ones are doing, but I do think out
- 29:07Speaker 2: of everybody, the other ones are goofy.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Like, do you know, what's the one over in Orlando?
- 29:11Speaker 1: Like the basketball team, the Magic? You ever seen that one? No.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Look up that mascot. That one looks.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Orlando Magic mascot?
- 29:17Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure, if I'm thinking of the right thing,
- 29:18Speaker 1: that thing looks ridiculous. I don't even, because what do
- 29:23Speaker 1: you think the Orlando Magic... What the actual, why does
- 29:25Speaker 1: this look like a Dragon Tales character? That's exactly what
- 29:28Speaker 1: I'm saying.
- 29:28Speaker 2: So.
- 29:30Speaker 1: The hell is that thing?
- 29:31Speaker 2: So, um... I have to be on drugs. There's no way.
- 29:35Speaker 2: The official mascot of the Orlando Magic is Stuff the Magic.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Dragon. Okay, you thought. What was the other one? Fear
- 29:42Speaker 1: was bad.
- 29:42Speaker 2: A friendly green dragon with pink wings, yellow horns, and
- 29:45Speaker 2: blue stars. Fast facts about Stuff. His debut, he was
- 29:49Speaker 2: hatched from a giant egg in downtown Orlando. That's right.
- 29:53Speaker 1: In 1989.
- 29:53Speaker 2: A play on the song Puff the Magic Dragon.
- 29:57Speaker 1: That song's about drugs, guys.
- 29:59Speaker 2: And the basketball term stuff. Slam dunking or blocking a shot.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a stretch, guys.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Hey, he was just named NBA mascot of the year, though.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Oh, well, then let me not come after stuff.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Come on, stuff.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I just don't understand what the mascot is. I guess
- 30:14Speaker 1: it's hard when you name something like the magic.
- 30:16Speaker 2: This is a sleep paralysis demon. Oh, look at that thing.
- 30:19Speaker 2: It's spooky as fuck.
- 30:21Speaker 1: See? We're not the only ones with a crazy looking mascot.
- 30:24Speaker 1: But we had a reason. Raymond could have been a Ray. Stuff? Okay,
- 30:28Speaker 1: I guess you needed to stretch it.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Stinger could have been the big blue fluffy guy, which
- 30:31Speaker 2: I don't really even know why we need the blue
- 30:32Speaker 2: fluffy guy.
- 30:33Speaker 1: We don't.
- 30:33Speaker 2: It should have been a ray to begin with.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it should have been. That would have made
- 30:37Speaker 1: more sense.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Because we're the Tampa Bay Rays, not the Tampa Bay
- 30:41Speaker 2: blue fluffy guys.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Blue fluffy sea monsters on the Gulf of Mexico. Thank you. Yeah,
- 30:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know where you come up
- 30:49Speaker 1: with these things.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Getting politically incorrect, Scott.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Nah, I'm good. I've already had enough beef online. I'm good.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I don't need anybody else in my DMs. Let's talk
- 30:55Speaker 1: about before we actually have to go to the sales meeting.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we got nine minutes.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Your dating situation.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I guess I could tease this because I
- 31:02Speaker 2: don't think we really have time to talk about it.
- 31:04Speaker 2: But I got set up on a blind date from
- 31:06Speaker 2: the guys at The Bone.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 31:08Speaker 2: And I've decided for for privacy reasons, I'm not going
- 31:11Speaker 2: to talk about the specific date because I think that's
- 31:15Speaker 2: kind of unfair. You throw yourself into this mess and
- 31:17Speaker 2: then like some girl talks about you.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Kind of. And. He also knew he was signing up
- 31:23Speaker 1: for it when calling a radio station to get a date. Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 1: But also, I understand where you're coming from. Yeah. Someone
- 31:28Speaker 1: that now has beef with somebody that, you know, I
- 31:30Speaker 1: talked about. I get it.
- 31:31Speaker 2: I will talk to you about the fact that our
- 31:33Speaker 2: co-workers were there watching it.
- 31:35Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 31:36Speaker 2: And what they did afterwards with the waiter that made
- 31:38Speaker 2: me like, I wasn't mad that they set me up
- 31:40Speaker 2: on the date. Cause I'm like, I'm a team player.
- 31:42Speaker 2: I was a little, um, I'm not mad at them.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I'm not mad at them. I'm not like, not like
- 31:48Speaker 2: starting beef. So it's like, they listened to this. I'm
- 31:49Speaker 2: not mad at you guys, but I was a little
- 31:51Speaker 2: uncomfortable with what they did after the date with another guy,
- 31:54Speaker 2: the waiter. Um, I will tell you about that experience
- 31:58Speaker 2: of them observing the date.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's very, like, if they could hear that,
- 32:02Speaker 1: because I feel like people need to put themselves in
- 32:05Speaker 1: the shoes of the person that they're doing something to. Like,
- 32:09Speaker 1: I think we'd all feel a little uncomfortable with that.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Well, I appreciate them for, no, no, I appreciate them
- 32:13Speaker 2: for being there.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Hell, yeah, thank the God.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I wanted them to be there. Thank God they were there.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Just making sure I didn't get abducted.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Safety first on dates.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Safety first, but yes, I went on a date. I
- 32:24Speaker 2: had delicious food at Noble Crust. And that's the end
- 32:28Speaker 2: of the bit.
- 32:29Speaker 1: So just for a couple of clarifications, was the date
- 32:33Speaker 1: comped completely? It's not like he had to do the
- 32:34Speaker 1: thing where he paid for it?
- 32:35Speaker 2: Totally comped.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Okay, cool.
- 32:36Speaker 2: And shout out to Patrick who set me up on
- 32:38Speaker 2: the date. He left a big, generous tip. So thank
- 32:40Speaker 2: you for doing that because I didn't have cash on me.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Heck yeah, that's Patrick Smith, right?
- 32:43Speaker 2: I was like, I don't need to bring my wallet.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Oh, my God. They're going to set you up on
- 32:46Speaker 1: a date. That would have been so funny. That would
- 32:48Speaker 1: have been so typical, like, Tampa man behavior.
- 32:49Speaker 2: And they were like, well, I was like, I for
- 32:51Speaker 2: sure don't have to pay right now. Like, yeah, just
- 32:53Speaker 2: leave a tip. I'm like, you guys, I'm Gen Z.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Do I look like I have cash on me?
- 32:56Speaker 1: Yeah, like, I don't have enough money to tip here.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I'm like, I have five euros from my trip to
- 33:00Speaker 2: Italy in my wallet, and that's about it.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you want me to give this? You
- 33:02Speaker 1: guys set this up for me. You guys cover everything.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 1: But the date went down. What did you order? What
- 33:07Speaker 1: did he order?
- 33:08Speaker 2: We shared the burrata.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Oh, very... Oh, kind of cute.
- 33:12Speaker 2: And... And then I got a salad. I got the
- 33:15Speaker 2: salad that I got last time I was there because
- 33:17Speaker 2: I was like, let me play it safe. I'm also
- 33:19Speaker 2: trying to get super freaking jacked. I'm trying to get freaking,
- 33:24Speaker 2: I'm trying to get my body in check.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 33:28Speaker 2: And then he got the avocado toast.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Okay, very cash. Very cash.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Very low key. And then I got a glass of
- 33:35Speaker 2: rosé and then they sent over mimosas for us.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Very nice. Which is very sweet. Some of the things
- 33:39Speaker 1: I asked on the last podcast, I want to see
- 33:41Speaker 1: if it happened, this one, when you went to meet them,
- 33:43Speaker 1: You're talking about the vibes. Was it a handshake or
- 33:45Speaker 1: a hug situation?
- 33:47Speaker 2: I think I hugged him goodbye.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Oh, nice.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Okay. I think I shook his hand when he got
- 33:51Speaker 2: to the table.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I think that's very respectable. Like, it's respectable as a
- 33:55Speaker 1: business meeting.
- 33:55Speaker 2: It's a business meeting until it's not. It is, though.
- 33:57Speaker 1: It's like the safe measure of going for the handshake.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I don't even know you. Let me just get to
- 34:01Speaker 1: sit down with you for a second before I'm rubbing
- 34:04Speaker 1: my body against yours. You know. Ew. Understandable.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Let's not go there.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Well, just saying. The other one I was thinking is
- 34:11Speaker 1: if he was going to do all the ordering. Did
- 34:12Speaker 1: he do all the ordering?
- 34:13Speaker 2: He actually did.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I like that.
- 34:14Speaker 2: He was very gentlemanly. Like, he poured my water for me,
- 34:18Speaker 2: which was very nice.
- 34:18Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 34:19Speaker 2: He ordered for me, which was very nice.
- 34:22Speaker 1: That's actually, you know what? Like, little points. You know what?
- 34:25Speaker 1: Even if it's not, like, you know, the love of
- 34:27Speaker 1: your life, it's cool to hear because I think a
- 34:29Speaker 1: lot of guys, like, forget, like, these things are kind
- 34:31Speaker 1: of nice to do.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Get to know your partner. You know, help them out.
- 34:35Speaker 1: I guess, but if your partner likes that. Is there...
- 34:40Speaker 1: You talk about.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Your girlfriend like you guys are a lesbian couple.
- 34:43Speaker 1: What are you talking about?
- 34:44Speaker 2: I've never heard straight people refer to their boyfriend and
- 34:47Speaker 2: girlfriend as partner.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Oh, no, I was just talking in general.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yeah, like it's like a gender neutral term.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not my girlfriend. I'm talking about my baby.
- 34:55Speaker 1: That's my baby.
- 34:57Speaker 2: That's my baby.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Don't even get me going on that.
- 35:00Speaker 2: That's my lady.
- 35:01Speaker 1: For real. Come on, that's my woman. I don't talk
- 35:04Speaker 1: about her all day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But for everybody else,
- 35:07Speaker 1: don't get me going.
- 35:08Speaker 2: That's your partner.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Now, is there a plan set up afterwards, or do
- 35:12Speaker 1: you want to save that?
- 35:14Speaker 2: No, no, no. Like, that was, yeah, it was one
- 35:16Speaker 2: date and done.
- 35:17Speaker 1: One date and done.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so shout out to him. I know it's very
- 35:19Speaker 2: nerve-wracking to put yourself out there. He did call me
- 35:22Speaker 2: the night before.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Oh, okay, so that call did happen.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he called me while I was
- 35:26Speaker 2: on a walk, and he was just like, I just
- 35:28Speaker 2: wanted to, like, get to know you. And I was like, okay, whatever.
- 35:33Speaker 2: I don't know why we're going on this date then.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I guess we could just call. And so I felt
- 35:36Speaker 2: bad because like, for me, I'm just such like an
- 35:37Speaker 2: in-person person to where I'm like, just ask me what
- 35:40Speaker 2: you want to ask. I know what you want to ask. Like,
- 35:42Speaker 2: you know, why am I doing this? Do I want
- 35:44Speaker 2: to do this? And I'm like, listen, I kind of
- 35:45Speaker 2: got thrown into this. I'm not, I'm, I could be
- 35:48Speaker 2: into it if I like you, but also if I
- 35:49Speaker 2: don't like you, then I'm not going to be into it. Like,
- 35:51Speaker 2: how do I say that?
- 35:52Speaker 1: Correct. Like, it's like you said before, it's like, it
- 35:54Speaker 1: is comes down to vibes.
- 35:55Speaker 2: It literally is just vibes.
- 35:56Speaker 1: You can't really get vibes off of a phone call
- 35:58Speaker 1: unless you're sleepless in Seattle, like that movie. Beautiful love story.
- 36:01Speaker 1: But that's a beautiful love story. So would you do
- 36:03Speaker 1: something like that again?
- 36:04Speaker 2: God, no.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, yeah. Get set up and have a rant.
- 36:06Speaker 1: On the bone?
- 36:07Speaker 2: No.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. It's a little tough. I know.
- 36:10Speaker 2: I'll get boozled into doing it again at some point,
- 36:12Speaker 2: I'm sure. That's why I'm like, God, someone date me
- 36:14Speaker 2: so I don't have to do this shit again.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I was literally thinking that. I was like, how many
- 36:17Speaker 1: times has it been? Let's set Abby up on a date.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I really am. Just when I think I can't get
- 36:22Speaker 2: more at my wits end with being single, I'm really like,
- 36:27Speaker 2: I'm not doing well, you guys.
- 36:28Speaker 1: You know what? You're like, I'm just going to go
- 36:30Speaker 1: live alone.
- 36:31Speaker 2: And I know I'm supposed to just be like, girl boss, like,
- 36:33Speaker 2: it's totally fine. Live your life. Fall in love with
- 36:34Speaker 2: your life. But you guys, I've been live, laugh, love
- 36:36Speaker 2: in my life for 29 years. I want someone to
- 36:39Speaker 2: hold my hand romantically.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:41Speaker 2: That I'm not repulsed by. Absolutely.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Somebody that I'm not disgusted by. Doesn't give me
- 36:44Speaker 1: the ick immediately. Doesn't say something weird on the date.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Doesn't say something weird.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Just something casual. Keep it cash. Yeah.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Honestly, I even like, I was praying to God last
- 36:52Speaker 2: night for the first time in years. And I was like, listen,
- 36:53Speaker 2: I'll settle.
- 36:55Speaker 1: No.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I was like, I'm fully prepared to settle.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Yeah. very i i don't know i think you're still
- 37:00Speaker 1: too young to settle but i also understand if it's
- 37:02Speaker 1: like i just want i want someone's hand to hold just.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Picture that like just put yourself in my shoes you
- 37:07Speaker 2: guys i have i've like been 29 i've never been
- 37:11Speaker 2: in a long-term relationship just picture imagine you having never

- 37:29Speaker 1: my God, long relationship, long relationship. But that's what I
- 37:31Speaker 1: think I said before a couple of podcasts ago. I'm like,
- 37:34Speaker 1: I don't know what I prefer. Like one taught me
- 37:35Speaker 1: a lot of lessons, but also sometimes you could think like,
- 37:37Speaker 1: oh my God, those years, like, was it, was it
- 37:40Speaker 1: worth it? I think it all brings perspective. And then
- 37:42Speaker 1: for you, I'm like, God, when that person does come along,

- 38:17Speaker 2: You know, the 300th anniversary of America. Me and him.

- 38:23Speaker 1: to be so romantic.
- 38:24Speaker 2: We got to go.
- 38:24Speaker 1: All right. Let's go to a sales meeting. And you
- 38:26Speaker 1: know what's sad? This podcast might get up and we
- 38:29Speaker 1: might never be back because I might be getting sued.
- 38:32Speaker 2: You're getting sued. I'll be back. Oh, what the heck?
- 38:33Speaker 1: You did the podcast with me. Nah, man.
