• 0:00
Speaker 1: We led off the show talking a little bit about
• 0:01
Speaker 1: the ALCS in baseball. The talk of everything right now
• 0:04
Speaker 1: in the NLCS is Shohei Otani. So there was some rumor, Shady,
• 0:08
Speaker 1: that Shohei Otani, the four-time MVP, could be benched for
• 0:13
Speaker 1: Game 3. He is officially going to stay in the
• 0:16
Speaker 1: lineup for Game 3 when the series shifts back to
• 0:18
Speaker 1: Dodger Stadium tomorrow night. But, Shady.
• 0:21
Speaker 2: What are we talking about?
• 0:22
Speaker 1: I think this is the wrong decision, and I think
• 0:24
Speaker 1: they should bench Shohei Otani. You think that? I really do.
• 0:27
Speaker 1: He has been so bad. He had a knee injury.
• 0:31
Speaker 1: He had a bicep injury. He is clearly not himself
• 0:34
Speaker 1: right now. And because he doesn't play the field and
• 0:36
Speaker 1: add any value defensively, he's just a DH. He has
• 0:40
Speaker 1: a negative impact, a negative value in this lineup right now.
• 0:44
Speaker 1: And the Dodgers are down 0-2. They have to pull
• 0:47
Speaker 1: out all the stops, and you have to make this
• 0:49
Speaker 1: offense better. And I don't think that they're better with
• 0:52
Speaker 1: him in the lineup right now. I hate to say
• 0:53
Speaker 1: it because he's my favorite baseball player to ever watch.
• 0:57
Speaker 1: But I think you have to bench him. And they're
• 0:59
Speaker 1: not going to, and we'll see what happens.
• 1:00
  Speaker 2: You're tough, man.
• 1:01
  Speaker 1: I am tough.
• 1:03
Speaker 2: This is tough to hear. Let me tell you something.
• 1:06
Speaker 2: It is hard to play this sport. Baseball, football, whatever
• 1:09
Speaker 2: it is, it's hard to do. This guy has brought
• 1:12
Speaker 2: you two championships back-to-back. He's been the best player on
• 1:16
Speaker 2: the team since he got there. He's got two MVPs
• 1:19
Speaker 2: since he got there. And you're talking about benching him?
• 1:22
Speaker 2: Everything he's done for the city, and that's what you
• 1:24
  Speaker 2: tell me?
• 1:25
Speaker 1: You love resume talk, man. I mean, dang it.
• 1:28
Speaker 2: Talking about right now. The bitching is crazy. I mean,
• 1:32
Speaker 2: he's the biggest thing from Japan since Godzilla, and you
• 1:36
Speaker 2: want to bitch him?
• 1:38
Speaker 1: I want to win baseball games, man. Bro, listen. There's
• 1:42
Speaker 1: people on the team that can come in and play
• 1:44
Speaker 1: better right now, and I think you have to do it.
• 1:47
Speaker 2: Listen, man, out of my families, my whole family, your
• 1:50
Speaker 2: whole family, We won't make the money he's making. Never.
• 1:53
Speaker 2: A $ 700 million contract, and you want to bench him?
• 1:56
Speaker 2: It's not good optics.
• 1:57
Speaker 1: I'm not disagreeing with that.
• 1:58
Speaker 2: It's all about you won't win every year. People don't
• 2:00
Speaker 2: want to hear that. You won't win every year.
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: Sure.
• 2:02
Speaker 2: So if you give me two in a row, bling, bling, ching, ching,
• 2:07
Speaker 2: and now you want to bench him?
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: Since August 19th.
• 2:11
  Speaker 2: That's tough, man.
• 2:12
Speaker 1: Not only is he batting 157, he has zero home runs.
• 2:14
Speaker 1: That's right. Zero. He's batting 150 this postseason. Listen, man.
• 2:24
Speaker 1: He's hurt. He's hurt and he needs to sit.
• 2:26
Speaker 2: I'm going to give you this little nugget right here.
• 2:29
  Speaker 2: And it's not 100%, but it's about 89%.
• 2:31
  Speaker 1: Ready? Yeah.
• 2:33
Speaker 2: Good players that have bad moments, eventually they will get
• 2:36
Speaker 2: back to being good players. Bad players that have some
• 2:39
Speaker 2: good moments, eventually they'll get back to bad players. What
• 2:42
Speaker 2: the hell do you want them to do? What do
• 2:44
Speaker 2: you want them to do?
• 2:45
Speaker 1: And Otani has said that, like, he's adamant that he's
• 2:47
Speaker 1: about to turn the corner right now. He feels like
• 2:50
Speaker 1: he's close. I'm sorry, Joey. I've watched the last two games.
• 2:53
Speaker 1: Your swings are not even close. Like, he's taking the ugliest.
• 2:56
Speaker 2: Chops at the ditch right now.
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: I do, man.
• 2:58
Speaker 2: I got one question for you.
• 2:59
Speaker 1: Chat, tell me this.
• 3:01
Speaker 2: If you're going to bench him, who's going to tell him?
• 3:04
Speaker 1: The manager. They already had the coverage.
• 3:06
Speaker 2: The manager, he ain't doing that. He ain't going to
• 3:07
Speaker 2: do that. He ain't going to do that.
• 3:10
Speaker 1: Do you think the Dodgers come back from 0-2? Especially
• 3:14
Speaker 1: if they bench Ohtani. I think they have a better
• 3:17
Speaker 1: chance to come back 0-2 if they bench him.
• 3:18
Speaker 2: That's why I disagree. When you got a guy like that, man,
• 3:21
Speaker 2: that's like Clark Clint and not doing well, eventually... He
• 3:24
Speaker 2: turns into Superman. And if anybody's going to do it,
• 3:27
Speaker 2: he can do it. If it was Aaron Judd, obviously,
• 3:29
  Speaker 2: you know what?
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: You're right.
• 3:30
Speaker 2: Ohtani is something different, man. Ohtani's like Steph Curry, LeBron James,
• 3:36
Speaker 2: Michael Jordan, all in one. All in one. In a little,
• 3:40
Speaker 2: you know, come on.
• 3:41
Speaker 1: I can't agree with you more on that. I think
• 3:44
Speaker 1: he's the best baseball player I've ever seen.
• 3:46
Speaker 2: I can't believe you would say that.
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: I'm scared.
• 3:49
Speaker 2: I'm scared to work with you. If I do bad,
• 3:51
Speaker 2: you might get me out of here.
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: Quick, man. Dang.
• 3:55
Speaker 2: Are you serious? Yeah.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: I want to win games, and right now he's not
• 3:59
Speaker 1: bringing it. So, real quick, I.
• 4:00
Speaker 2: Just want to make sure I'm cool with this. Chat,
• 4:03
Speaker 2: correct me if I'm wrong. So, you're saying you want
• 4:05
Speaker 2: to bench him. One of the greatest players of all time.
• 4:08
Speaker 2: The richest player that we've ever seen in baseball. The
• 4:11
  Speaker 2: four-time MVP, two-time MVP with the Dodgers. Back-to-back champion. You're
• 4:17
  Speaker 2: telling me.
• 4:18
Speaker 1: Bench him? I don't want you playing in this NLCS.
• 4:22
  Speaker 2: Get healthy.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: Literally get healthy and we'll be fine.
• 4:24
  Speaker 2: Nobody's safe.
• 4:26
Speaker 1: That's just how it is, man. That's how I feel.
• 4:28
Speaker 1: We got another YouTube chat from Don Wannold saying, bang, bang,
• 4:32
Speaker 1: good players get hot again and you win. So they
• 4:34
Speaker 1: agree with you. Who said that? I figured I was
• 4:36
Speaker 1: going to be on an island on this one. That's
• 4:38
Speaker 1: Don Wannold. Don. More like Don Juan.
• 4:41
Speaker 2: Hey, you know something, boy.
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: You know something.
