- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:29coop. So today I want to talk to you
- 0:32about the fact that sometimes our intentions and our outcomes
- 0:39don't actually arrive on time. We love that when we're like, Oh
- 0:43no, I had planned that it was going to work by this time and
- 0:47how much that spins us out of control.
- 0:50And the moment we start to spin out of control, we start to have
- 0:52even more problems because ultimately our emotions create
- 0:57more of the situation that we're experiencing and cannot stress
- 1:02this enough. I know we talk about it a lot,
- 1:04but when you're focused on a large outcome, it's a it's
- 1:10inherently an opportunity for stress to arrive.
- 1:14And when you have stress arrive, it's just supposed to come to
- 1:18you as information. When we take it on as more than
- 1:21the information and we start living in that state of stress
- 1:24and we start acting in that state of anxiety, we ultimately
- 1:29are giving way more power than we should.
- 1:32Because all of a sudden that's the point that we're attracting
- 1:35from. That's the point where all the
- 1:37energy is going to and we know like attracts like science, not
- 1:41woo, woo, It's definitely the case.
- 1:44So we have to make sure that when we put our intentions on an
- 1:49outcome, and the outcome is arriving slower than we want it
- 1:53to, or not quite in the way that we want it to, rather than
- 1:57getting into that state of frustration, irritation, anger,
- 2:01fear, whatever you want to call it or whatever you're
- 2:03experiencing it to be, we have to stop and say, I gotta hang on
- 2:10here for a second. I got to look at this and say
- 2:12this is just information. And I can't allow myself to stay
- 2:16in that state because that state attracts more of itself.
- 2:21And maybe the information it's providing to me means I need to
- 2:25change my approach. I need to look at something and
- 2:28shift. I need to try something
- 2:30different. Because often when we get into
- 2:32those states, we become blinded by the path that we've been
- 2:36doing, as opposed to looking and saying, OK, is there something
- 2:40else I can do? Is there another way I can look
- 2:43at this? Is there another person I can
- 2:45involve? How can I participate in my own
- 2:48rescue rather than drowning myself in unresourceful
- 2:53emotions? And this probably is one of the
- 2:56hardest things to do because typically when your emotions are
- 3:00high, we don't become the brightest people.
- 3:03You know, I've heard, you've probably heard me say before
- 3:06when emotions go up, intelligence goes down.
- 3:08But this is definitely one of those cases.
- 3:10Because when you're in it and you're trying to evaluate things
- 3:15and you're in a heightened state of emotion, God knows that that
- 3:19is a just difficult place to be thoughtful about your reactions
- 3:25and taking action to move forward to something.
- 3:29You know, I have myself when I I know when I panic.
- 3:34It is not a good thing. And I don't always think
- 3:36clearly. I always mired my husband
- 3:39immensely for his ability to have this sense of peace.
- 3:43When things get really intense, he has this ability to pull
- 3:47himself down and get into this very centered place and be
- 3:51thoughtful about it and you know, change his approach if
- 3:53necessary. I've seen him do this in life
- 3:56threatening situations where we all almost drown in kayaks and
- 4:01had to. He had to save my son.
- 4:03He's in the ice cold water up to his chest, over his head,
- 4:09hanging onto a kayak and he's talking to me as calmly as he
- 4:13would saying can you please pass the milk?
- 4:16And that's the ability to be able to do that is such a
- 4:22presence and such a gift because it helps you to make smart
- 4:28decisions, because he was capable of doing that in those
- 4:31moments when we were in trouble, he saved us and he made sure
- 4:35that we were all walking away from that without a disaster.
- 4:38And that was predicated on the ability to be able to do this.
- 4:42So think about the fact that you might be doing something right
- 4:46now and it's super intense and there's a lot happening around
- 4:51you, whether you're, you know, people or business is happening.
- 4:54You're waiting for clients, you're working on a project and
- 4:58it's not going the way you thought.
- 4:59Your boss is upset with you, whatever it might be.
- 5:03Your emotional reaction to it has to be thought out.
- 5:08If you're having an emotional reaction and it's not
- 5:11resourceful, say to yourself, OK, is this trying to teach me
- 5:14something or is this unnecessary right now?
- 5:16Really debrief yourself. Ask yourself, is this
- 5:19resourceful? Is this the emotion I need to be
- 5:22in? And then figure out if there's
- 5:23information you need. Change your approach and you
- 5:27don't have to come up with this all by yourself.
- 5:29Ask if you need help, ask someone else and say, OK, how
- 5:32would you approach this? But go make sure you go to a
- 5:36good resource, of course. But always check in with
- 5:39yourself and realize then in those moments when it's not
- 5:43working out the way you intended it to be, is there something you
- 5:46can learn from it? Is there a way you can change
- 5:49your approach? Is there.
- 5:50You can definitely change your emotion and that can't be done
- 5:54by anybody but you. You are the person that changes
- 5:57that emotion. So please be aware, no one can
- 6:00help you change your emotion, but but you can change your
- 6:05emotion. So you need to go in there and
- 6:07do that work. Hold yourself to that, like very
- 6:11strict line. I'm in charge of my emotion.
- 6:13I don't choose this one. I choose to be this way.
- 6:16I choose to look at this differently.
- 6:18And I choose to focus on what I can learn and move forward so
- 6:21that I can get to my outcome and I can get to what my intention
- 6:26was. All right, my friends, I hope
- 6:28this was helpful and I hope you have a very blessed day and I
- 6:31will see you tomorrow. Bye.
