Baltimore County Police Officer Derek Hadel won’t face criminal charges in the death of Samuel “Big Sam” Brown, despite the Medical Examiner ruling it a homicide. The Maryland Attorney General’s office determined there wasn’t enough evidence to prove Hadel committed assault or excessive force — even though body cam footage shows Brown swatted at the officer before he was punched twice in the face.
