- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter eighty nine, Verses one through nine, The Deluge and
- 0:04Speaker 1: the Deliverance of Noah chapter eighty nine. And one of
- 0:09Speaker 1: those four went to that white bowl and instructed him
- 0:12Speaker 1: in a secret, without his being terrified. He was borne
- 0:16Speaker 1: a bull and became a man, and built for himself
- 0:19Speaker 1: a great vessel, and dwelt thereon, and three bowls dwelt
- 0:23Speaker 1: with him in that vessel, and they were covered in
- 0:26Speaker 1: And again I raised mine eyes towards heaven and saw
- 0:29Speaker 1: a lofty roof with seven water torrents thereon, And those
- 0:34Speaker 1: torrents flowed with much water into an enclosure. And I
- 0:38Speaker 1: saw again, and behold, fountains were opened on the surface
- 0:42Speaker 1: of that great enclosure, and that water began to swell
- 0:45Speaker 1: and rise upon the surface. And I saw that enclosure
- 0:49Speaker 1: till all its surface was covered with water, and the
- 0:52Speaker 1: water the darkness and mist increased upon it. And as
- 0:57Speaker 1: I looked at the height of that water, that water
- 0:59Speaker 1: had risen above the height of that enclosure and was
- 1:03Speaker 1: streaming over that enclosure, and it stood upon the earth,
- 1:07Speaker 1: and all the cattle of that enclosure were gathered together,
- 1:10Speaker 1: until I saw how they sank and were swallowed up
- 1:13Speaker 1: and perished. In that water. But that vessel floated on
- 1:17Speaker 1: the water, while all the oxen and elephants, and camels
- 1:20Speaker 1: and asses sank to the bottom with all the animals,
- 1:24Speaker 1: so that I could no longer see them, and they
- 1:26Speaker 1: were not able to escape, but perished and sank into
- 1:29Speaker 1: the depths. And again I saw in the vision till
- 1:33Speaker 1: those water torrents were removed from that high roof, and
- 1:36Speaker 1: the chasms of the earth were leveled up, and other
- 1:40Speaker 1: abysses were opened. Then the water began to run down
- 1:44Speaker 1: into these till the earth became visible. But that vessel
- 1:48Speaker 1: settled on the earth, and the darkness retired, and light appeared.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But that white bull, which had become a man, came
- 1:55Speaker 1: out of that vessel, and the three bowls with him,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and one of those three was white like that bull,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and one of them was red as blood, and one black,
- 2:06Speaker 1: And that white bull departed from them. Chapter eighty nine,
- 2:10Speaker 1: verses ten through twenty seven, from the death of Noah
- 2:13Speaker 1: to the Exodus. And they began to bring forth beasts
- 2:17Speaker 1: of the field and birds, so that there arose different
- 2:20Speaker 1: genre lions, tigers, wolves, dogs, hyenas, wild boars, foxes, squirrels, swine, falcons, vultures, kites, eagles,
- 2:32Speaker 1: and ravens, and among them was born a white bull,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and they began to bite one another. But that white bull,
- 2:39Speaker 1: which was born amongst them, began a wild ass and
- 2:42Speaker 1: a white bull with it, and the wild asses multiplied.
- 2:47Speaker 1: But that bull, which was born from him, begat a
- 2:50Speaker 1: black wild boar and a white sheep, and the former
- 2:54Speaker 1: begat many boares, but that sheep begat twelve sheep, and
- 3:00Speaker 1: twelve sheep had grown, they gave up one of them
- 3:03Speaker 1: to the asses, and those asses again gave up that
- 3:07Speaker 1: sheep to the wolves, and that sheep grew up among
- 3:10Speaker 1: the wolves. And the lord brought the eleven sheep to
- 3:14Speaker 1: live with it and to pasture within among the wolves.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And they multiplied and became many flocks of sheep, and
- 3:21Speaker 1: the wolves began to fear them, and they oppressed them
- 3:24Speaker 1: until they destroyed their little ones, and they cast their
- 3:27Speaker 1: young into a river of much water. But those sheep
- 3:30Speaker 1: began to cry aloud on account of their little ones,
- 3:33Speaker 1: and to complain, and too their lord, and a sheep
- 3:36Speaker 1: which had been saved from the wolves, fled and escaped
- 3:39Speaker 1: to the wild asses. And I saw the sheep how
- 3:42Speaker 1: they lamented and cried and besought their lord with all
- 3:45Speaker 1: their might, till that Lord of the sheep descended at
- 3:49Speaker 1: the voice of the sheep from a lofty abode, and
- 3:51Speaker 1: came to them and pastured them. And he called that
- 3:55Speaker 1: sheep which had escaped the wolves, and spake with it
- 3:58Speaker 1: concerning the wolves, that is, should admonish them not to
- 4:01Speaker 1: touch the sheep. And the sheep went to the wolves
- 4:04Speaker 1: according to the word of the Lord. And another sheep
- 4:07Speaker 1: met it and went with it. And the two went
- 4:10Speaker 1: and entered together into the assembly of those wolves, and
- 4:14Speaker 1: spake with them and admonished them not to touch the sheep
- 4:17Speaker 1: from henceforth. And thereupon I saw the wolves, and how
- 4:21Speaker 1: they oppressed the sheep exceedingly with all their power, And
- 4:24Speaker 1: the sheep cried aloud, and the Lord came to the sheep,
- 4:27Speaker 1: and they began to smite those wolves, and the wolves
- 4:30Speaker 1: began to make lamentation, but the sheep became quiet, and
- 4:34Speaker 1: forthwith ceased to cry out. And I saw the sheep
- 4:38Speaker 1: till they departed from amongst the wolves. But the eyes
- 4:40Speaker 1: of the wolves were blinded, and those wolves departed in
- 4:44Speaker 1: the pursuit of the sheep with all their power, and
- 4:47Speaker 1: the Lord of the sheep went with them as their leader,
- 4:50Speaker 1: and all his sheep followed him, and his face was
- 4:53Speaker 1: dazzling and glorious and terrible to behold. But the wolves
- 4:57Speaker 1: began to pursue those sheep till they reached a s
- 5:00Speaker 1: of water, and the sea was divided, and the water
- 5:03Speaker 1: stood on this side and on that before their face.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And their lord led them and placed himself between them
- 5:10Speaker 1: and the wolves. And as those wolves did not yet
- 5:13Speaker 1: see the sheep, they proceeded into the midst of that sea.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And the wolves followed the sheep, and those wolves ran
- 5:20Speaker 1: after them into that sea, And when they saw the
- 5:23Speaker 1: Lord of the sheep, they turned to flee before his face.
- 5:26Speaker 1: But that sea gathered itself together and became as it
- 5:29Speaker 1: had been created, and the water swelled and rose till
- 5:33Speaker 1: it covered those wolves. And I saw till all the
- 5:36Speaker 1: wolves who pursued those sheep perished and were drowned. Chapter
- 5:40Speaker 1: eighty nine, Verses twenty eight to forty Israel in the desert,
- 5:45Speaker 1: the giving of the Law, the entrance into Palestine. But
- 5:49Speaker 1: the sheep escaped from that water and went forth into
- 5:52Speaker 1: a wilderness, where there was no water and no grass,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and they began to open their eyes into sea. And
- 5:58Speaker 1: I saw the Lord of the sheep asturing them and
- 6:00Speaker 1: giving them water and grass, and that sheep going and
- 6:04Speaker 1: leading them, and that sheep ascended to the summit of
- 6:07Speaker 1: that lofty rock, and the Lord of the sheep sent
- 6:10Speaker 1: it to them. And after that I saw the Lord
- 6:13Speaker 1: of the sheep who stood before them, and his appearance
- 6:16Speaker 1: was great and terrible and majestic. And all those sheep
- 6:19Speaker 1: saw him and were afraid before his face, and they
- 6:22Speaker 1: all feared and trembled because of him, and they cried
- 6:25Speaker 1: to that sheep with them, which was amongst them, we
- 6:29Speaker 1: are not able to stand before our lord or to
- 6:31Speaker 1: behold him. And that sheep, which led them again, ascended
- 6:35Speaker 1: to the summit of that rock. But the sheep began
- 6:37Speaker 1: to be blinded and to wander from the way which
- 6:40Speaker 1: he had showed them. But that sheep what not thereof,
- 6:44Speaker 1: And the Lord of the sheep was wrathful exceedingly against them.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And that sheep discovered it and went down from the
- 6:50Speaker 1: summit of the rock and came to the sheep, and
- 6:52Speaker 1: found the greatest part of them blinded and fallen away.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And when they saw it, they feared and trembled at
- 6:59Speaker 1: its presence and desired to return to their folds. And
- 7:02Speaker 1: that sheep took other sheep with it and came to
- 7:05Speaker 1: those sheep which had fallen away and began to slay them,
- 7:08Speaker 1: and the sheep feared its presence. And thus that sheep
- 7:11Speaker 1: brought back those sheep that had fallen away, and they
- 7:14Speaker 1: returned to their folds. And I saw in this vision
- 7:18Speaker 1: till that sheep became a man and built a house
- 7:21Speaker 1: for the lord of the sheep, and placed all the
- 7:24Speaker 1: sheep in that house. And I saw till this sheep
- 7:28Speaker 1: which had met that sheep which led them, fell asleep.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And I saw till all the great sheep perished, and
- 7:35Speaker 1: little ones arose in their place. And they came to
- 7:38Speaker 1: a pasture and approached a stream of water. Then that sheep,
- 7:42Speaker 1: their leader, which had become a man, withdrew from them
- 7:45Speaker 1: and fell asleep. And all the sheep sought it and
- 7:48Speaker 1: cried over it with a great crying. And I saw
- 7:52Speaker 1: till they left off crying for that sheep and crossed
- 7:55Speaker 1: that stream of water, and there arose the two sheep
- 7:59Speaker 1: as leaders in the place place of those which had
- 8:01Speaker 1: led them, and fallen asleep. Literally had fallen asleep, and
- 8:04Speaker 1: led them. And I saw till the sheep came to
- 8:07Speaker 1: a goodly place, and a pleasant and glorious land. And
- 8:10Speaker 1: I saw till those sheep were satisfied, and that house
- 8:14Speaker 1: stood amongst them in the pleasant land Chapter eighty nine,
- 8:18Speaker 1: Verses forty one through fifty, from the time of the
- 8:21Speaker 1: judges till the building of the temple. And sometimes their
- 8:25Speaker 1: eyes were opened and sometimes blinded, till another sheep arose
- 8:29Speaker 1: and led them and brought them all back, and their
- 8:31Speaker 1: eyes were opened, and the dogs and the foxes and
- 8:35Speaker 1: the wild boars began to devour those sheep, till the
- 8:38Speaker 1: lord of the sheep raised up another sheep a ram
- 8:41Speaker 1: from their midst, which led them, and that ram began
- 8:45Speaker 1: to butt on either side those dogs, foxes, and wild boars,
- 8:49Speaker 1: till he had destroyed them all. And that sheep, whose
- 8:52Speaker 1: eyes were opened, saw that ram which was amongst the sheep,
- 8:56Speaker 1: till it forsook its glory and began to butt those sheep,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and rampled upon them, and behaved itself unseemly. And the
- 9:04Speaker 1: lord of the sheep sent the lamb to another lamb
- 9:07Speaker 1: and raised it to being a ram and leader of
- 9:10Speaker 1: the sheep instead of that ram which had forsaken its glory.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And it went to it and spake to it alone,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and raised it to being a ram, and made it
- 9:20Speaker 1: the prince and leader of the sheep. But during all
- 9:23Speaker 1: these things, those dogs oppressed the sheep, and the first
- 9:27Speaker 1: ram pursued that second ram, and that second ram arose
- 9:32Speaker 1: and fled before it. And I saw till those dogs
- 9:35Speaker 1: pulled down the first ram, and that second ram arose
- 9:39Speaker 1: and led the little sheep, and those sheep grew and multiplied,
- 9:44Speaker 1: But all the dogs and foxes and wild boars feared
- 9:47Speaker 1: and fled before it. And that ram butted and killed
- 9:50Speaker 1: the wild beasts, and those wild beasts had no longer
- 9:54Speaker 1: any power among the sheep, and robbed them no more
- 9:57Speaker 1: of aught. And that ram yet many sheep and fell asleep,
- 10:02Speaker 1: and a little sheep became ram in its stead, and
- 10:05Speaker 1: became prince and leader of those sheep. And that house
- 10:09Speaker 1: became great and broad, and it was built for those sheep.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And a tower, lofty and great, was built on the
- 10:15Speaker 1: house for the lord of the sheep. And that house
- 10:18Speaker 1: was low, but the tower was elevated and lofty, and
- 10:22Speaker 1: the lord of the sheep stood on that tower, and
- 10:24Speaker 1: they offered a full table before him. Chapter eighty nine,
- 10:28Speaker 1: verses fifty one through sixty seven, the two kingdoms of
- 10:32Speaker 1: Israel and Judah, to the destruction of Jerusalem. And again
- 10:37Speaker 1: I saw those sheep that they again aired and went
- 10:40Speaker 1: many ways, and forsook that their house. And the Lord
- 10:44Speaker 1: of the sheep called some from amongst the sheep and
- 10:46Speaker 1: sent them to the sheep. But the sheep began to
- 10:49Speaker 1: slay them, and one of them was saved and was
- 10:53Speaker 1: not slain, and it sped away and cried aloud over
- 10:56Speaker 1: the sheep, and they sought to slay it, But the
- 10:58Speaker 1: Lord of the sheep said it from the sheep, and
- 11:01Speaker 1: brought it up to me, and caused it to dwell there.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And many other sheep he sent to those sheep to
- 11:07Speaker 1: testify unto them and lament over them. And after that
- 11:11Speaker 1: I saw that when they forsook the house of the
- 11:13Speaker 1: Lord and his tower, they fell away entirely, and their
- 11:17Speaker 1: eyes were blinded. And I saw the Lord of the sheep,
- 11:21Speaker 1: how he wrought much slaughter amongst them in their herds,
- 11:25Speaker 1: until those sheep invited that slaughter and betrayed his place,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and he gave them over into the hands of the
- 11:31Speaker 1: lions and tigers, and wolves and hyenas, and into the
- 11:35Speaker 1: hands of the foxes, and to all the wild beasts.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And those wild beasts began to tear in pieces those sheep.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And I saw that he forsook that their house and
- 11:45Speaker 1: their tower, and gave them all into the hand of
- 11:48Speaker 1: the lions, to tear and devour them, into the hand
- 11:52Speaker 1: of all the wild beasts. And I began to cry
- 11:54Speaker 1: out loud with all my power, and to appeal to
- 11:57Speaker 1: the Lord of the sheep, and to represent him in
- 12:00Speaker 1: regard to the sheep, that they were devoured by all
- 12:03Speaker 1: the wild beasts. But he remained unmoved, though he saw
- 12:06Speaker 1: it and rejoiced that they were devoured and swallowed and robbed,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and left them to be devoured in the hand of
- 12:12Speaker 1: all the beasts. And he called seventy shepherds and cast
- 12:16Speaker 1: those sheep to them, that they might pasture them. And
- 12:19Speaker 1: he spake to the shepherds and their companions, let each
- 12:24Speaker 1: individual of you pasture the sheep henceforward, and everything that
- 12:28Speaker 1: I shall command you that do ye, and I will
- 12:32Speaker 1: deliver them over unto you duly numbered, and tell you
- 12:36Speaker 1: which of them are to be destroyed, and them destroy ye,
- 12:41Speaker 1: And he gave over unto them those sheep, and he
- 12:44Speaker 1: called another and spake unto him. Observe and mark everything
- 12:48Speaker 1: that the shepherds will do to those sheep, for they
- 12:51Speaker 1: will destroy more of them than I have commanded them,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and every excess and the destruction which will be wrought
- 12:59Speaker 1: through the shepherds. Record namely how many they destroy according
- 13:03Speaker 1: to my command, and how many according to their own caprice.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Record against every individual shepherd all the destruction he affects,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and read out before me by number, how many they destroy,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and how many they deliver over for destruction, that I
- 13:20Speaker 1: may have this as a testimony against them, and know
- 13:23Speaker 1: every deed of the shepherds, that I may comprehend, and
- 13:27Speaker 1: see what they do, whether or not they abide by
- 13:30Speaker 1: my command which I have commanded them. But they shall
- 13:33Speaker 1: not know it, And thou shalt not declare it to them,
- 13:36Speaker 1: nor admonish them, but only record against each individual all
- 13:41Speaker 1: the destruction which the shepherds affect, each in his time,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and lay it all before me. And I saw till
- 13:48Speaker 1: those shepherds pastured in their season, and they began to
- 13:52Speaker 1: slay and to destroy more than they were bidden, and
- 13:55Speaker 1: they delivered those sheep into the hand of the lions,
- 13:58Speaker 1: and the lions and tigers eat and devoured the greater
- 14:01Speaker 1: part of those sheep, and the wild boars eat along
- 14:05Speaker 1: with them. And they burnt that tower and demolished that house.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And I became exceedingly sorrowful over that tower, because that
- 14:14Speaker 1: house of the sheep was demolished. And afterwards I was
- 14:17Speaker 1: unable to see if those sheep entered that house. Chapter
- 14:21Speaker 1: eighty nine, Verses sixty eight through seventy one, first period
- 14:27Speaker 1: of the Angelic rulers, from the destruction of Jerusalem to
- 14:30Speaker 1: the return from the captivity. And the shepherds and their
- 14:34Speaker 1: associates delivered over those sheep to all the wild beasts
- 14:37Speaker 1: to devour them. And each one of them received in
- 14:40Speaker 1: his time a definite number. It was written by the
- 14:44Speaker 1: other in a book, how many each one of them
- 14:47Speaker 1: destroyed of them, and each one slew and destroyed many
- 14:50Speaker 1: more than was prescribed. And I began to weep and
- 14:54Speaker 1: lament on account of those sheep. And thus in the
- 14:57Speaker 1: vision I saw that one who wrote, how he wrote
- 15:01Speaker 1: down every one that was destroyed by those shepherds day
- 15:04Speaker 1: by day, and carried up and laid down, and showed
- 15:07Speaker 1: actually the whole book to the Lord of the sheep,
- 15:11Speaker 1: even everything that they had done, and all that each
- 15:14Speaker 1: one of them had made away with, and all that
- 15:17Speaker 1: they had given over to destruction. And the book was
- 15:20Speaker 1: read before the Lord of the sheep. And he took
- 15:22Speaker 1: the book from his hand and read it, and sealed
- 15:25Speaker 1: it and laid it down Chapter eighty nine, Verses seventy
- 15:30Speaker 1: two through seventy seven, second period from the time of
- 15:34Speaker 1: Cyrus to that of Alexander the Great, and forthwith. I
- 15:38Speaker 1: saw how the shepherds pastured for twelve hours, and behold,
- 15:41Speaker 1: three of those sheep turned back and came and entered
- 15:44Speaker 1: and began to build up all that had fallen down
- 15:47Speaker 1: of that house. But the wild boars tried to hinder them,
- 15:51Speaker 1: but they were not able. And they began again to
- 15:54Speaker 1: build as before. And they reared up that tower, and
- 15:57Speaker 1: it was named the High Tower. And they began again
- 16:00Speaker 1: to place a table before the tower, but all the
- 16:03Speaker 1: bread on it was polluted and not pure. And as
- 16:06Speaker 1: touching all this, the eyes of those sheep were blinded,
- 16:09Speaker 1: so that they saw not, and the eyes of their
- 16:12Speaker 1: shepherds likewise, and they delivered them in large numbers to
- 16:16Speaker 1: their shepherds for destruction. And they trampled the sheep with
- 16:20Speaker 1: their feet and devoured them. And the Lord of the
- 16:23Speaker 1: sheep remained unmoved till all the sheep were dispersed over
- 16:26Speaker 1: the field and mingled with them, in other words, the beasts,
- 16:30Speaker 1: and they, in other words, the shepherds did not save
- 16:33Speaker 1: them out of the hand of the beasts. And this
- 16:36Speaker 1: one who wrote the book carried it up and showed
- 16:39Speaker 1: it and read it before the Lord of the sheep,
- 16:41Speaker 1: and implored him on their account, and besought him on
- 16:45Speaker 1: their account, as he showed him all the doings of
- 16:48Speaker 1: the shepherds, and gave testimony before him against all the shepherds.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And he took the actual book and laid it down
- 16:55Speaker 1: beside him, and departed. And of section thirteen
