- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with on our radio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Almost Famous Podcast. We're back with
- 0:09Speaker 2: another recap of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island, Episode six.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We've got mansions, We've got masks, messy comments. This episode
- 0:19Speaker 2: has it all, and it's also reminded me for the
- 0:21Speaker 2: first time and over a month of my life, Lauren,
- 0:25Speaker 2: why I don't watch these type of shows?
- 0:27Speaker 3: Are you fired up?
- 0:29Speaker 4: I get I'm over it.
- 0:33Speaker 3: He's checked out. Guys, it's only me now. Hey, there's
- 0:37Speaker 3: so much to unpack with this one episode. They like
- 0:40Speaker 3: jammed it all into one.
- 0:42Speaker 4: It's so much.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it made me, Okay, I have to be careful
- 0:48Speaker 2: here to not be so one sided when it comes
- 0:51Speaker 2: to watching this show. Yes, obviously we're watching it and
- 0:55Speaker 2: breaking it down because of our beloved Ashley being a
- 0:59Speaker 2: part of this show, but we are breaking it down
- 1:02Speaker 2: holistically for every character in every person watching. I didn't
- 1:09Speaker 2: realize when we tuned into episode one that six weeks
- 1:13Speaker 2: into this every episode was just going to be people
- 1:17Speaker 2: arguing with each other about different topics at different times.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, the same topics over and over again at
- 1:23Speaker 3: different times. I mean that's uh. That seems to be
- 1:28Speaker 3: Kelsey's MMO, honestly, because she looks like she's the one
- 1:31Speaker 3: that's hanging on to certain things, and it appears as
- 1:34Speaker 3: if Joellen is kind of letting go and kind of
- 1:37Speaker 3: being the bigger person. We're getting a dive into Joellen's
- 1:40Speaker 3: life besides ruining Rula's Brian is doing for her, not Rula.
- 1:47Speaker 3: So it looks like Kelsey's the one that's hanging on
- 1:49Speaker 3: all these old fights it is.
- 1:51Speaker 2: That's a good point I would say. I felt fine.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm just gonna come in unfiltered. I felt fine about
- 1:59Speaker 2: the Rula situation the whole time, just because I think
- 2:02Speaker 2: Brian's up to something, and so I understand that she's hurting,
- 2:05Speaker 2: and I understand that it's not ideal to have on TV.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Why she said yes to it will always be a
- 2:11Speaker 2: question that I want to ask her one day, but
- 2:14Speaker 2: it's it's kind of been this, Hey, I want your
- 2:18Speaker 2: eyes to be open to the fact that there is
- 2:20Speaker 2: something going on. If you're okay with what's going on,
- 2:23Speaker 2: tell us you're okay with it, we move on. If
- 2:25Speaker 2: you're not okay with it, like it seems like you're
- 2:28Speaker 2: not so far. Then let's keep digging in until your
- 2:33Speaker 2: eyes open up.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So that's why I've never really had an issue with
- 2:37Speaker 2: the rule of thing one hundred percent.
- 2:38Speaker 3: It's not really a fight. It's more of like just
- 2:40Speaker 3: bringing to light some information.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yes, this episode we do start at Liz's house. Kelsey
- 2:49Speaker 2: tells Liz at this moment that the relationship has run
- 2:51Speaker 2: its course. Yes, not a shocker to any of us.
- 2:55Speaker 2: We knew this relationship was on the fringes at least
- 2:58Speaker 2: because we saw that other guy, what's his name, the
- 3:02Speaker 2: other boyfriend, Billy Billy. Yeah, we saw Billy show up
- 3:06Speaker 2: for the last few episodes, so we knew something was
- 3:09Speaker 2: happening in her relationship in the house that she was
- 3:13Speaker 2: staying in. But she does open up to Liz at
- 3:16Speaker 2: the beginning of the episode.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah, she says that the I'm gonna call him sugar Daddy. Yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 3: I like, I'm gonna call him sugar Daddy. They were
- 3:27Speaker 3: holding each other in bed, discussing their future and uh,
- 3:33Speaker 3: She's like, I think this is right on its course,
- 3:34Speaker 3: and you go. He essentially goes, I'm glad you finally
- 3:37Speaker 3: realized that I can't wait for you to get out
- 3:42Speaker 3: of my house so I can get a younger model in. Actually,
- 3:45Speaker 3: I'm sure he's been waiting for her to come to
- 3:47Speaker 3: this for a long time.
- 3:48Speaker 4: How would that make you feel?
- 3:50Speaker 3: I'd be so embarrassed. I'd be so embarrassed because I'd
- 3:54Speaker 3: be like, oh, yeah, he's I'm just like his kept
- 3:56Speaker 3: his hot kept woman, laying in his bed waiting for
- 3:59Speaker 3: m come home from his other conquests. And I'm thinking that, like, oh,
- 4:04Speaker 3: I'm this hotch. But really he appears he's been waiting
- 4:08Speaker 3: for her to come to this conclusion on her own,
- 4:11Speaker 3: and that's embarrassing kind of. And she says that what
- 4:16Speaker 3: did what did he say? That was like ooh, that
- 4:18Speaker 3: he's making the right decision, and that she found out
- 4:23Speaker 3: I guess recently that there was more women in his
- 4:25Speaker 3: life than like he let on. So she found out
- 4:28Speaker 3: that there was. It wasn't just like another girlfriend in Florida.
- 4:33Speaker 3: There probably have been many, maybe others in Rhode Island.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I'm sure they'll be coming out of the woodwork soon.
- 4:39Speaker 3: And I guess that's why she was like, I can't
- 4:41Speaker 3: just keep waiting around?
- 4:42Speaker 4: Is there a difference between one and three?
- 4:44Speaker 3: Look, I'm not for me, Okay.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I just didn't know, like in that world, is there
- 4:49Speaker 2: a difference between having one, you know, person on the
- 4:52Speaker 2: side or three. It didn't feel like it was ever
- 4:55Speaker 2: an issue no matter how many it was.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. Maybe with someone that was like
- 5:01Speaker 3: she found out that was like close to home or
- 5:03Speaker 3: younger and then she was like, oh, I got to
- 5:05Speaker 3: get out because they're they're getting younger than me. Now
- 5:09Speaker 3: speculation only allegedly, this is.
- 5:15Speaker 2: A big though moment for the show. It does create
- 5:18Speaker 2: the storyline where now Kelsey is off on her own.
- 5:21Speaker 2: At least at that point we thought she was trying
- 5:23Speaker 2: to figure out life. We then flashed to Rosie's house.
- 5:28Speaker 3: She's just talking to rich about like how she's going
- 5:31Speaker 3: to the mansion with the girls and she hopes that
- 5:33Speaker 3: it goes well because it went well at the polo match.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Not a lot to it other than like just talking
- 5:39Speaker 3: about if they're going to be in a good mood
- 5:41Speaker 3: or not around her, and she's just gonna try and
- 5:44Speaker 3: be herself.
- 5:45Speaker 2: They this episode, I think underlying could have a theme
- 5:49Speaker 2: of childhood trauma. Yeah, childhood trauma and current trauma. Joellen
- 5:55Speaker 2: and her sister Jen are shown shopping during this episode,
- 6:00Speaker 2: Joelan starts talking about the recent passing of her grandfather
- 6:04Speaker 2: and the impact he made on their lives. This brings
- 6:07Speaker 2: up a lot of feelings about their childhood and the
- 6:09Speaker 2: memories that they have. This is a little foreshadowing I
- 6:12Speaker 2: felt like towards you know, for the rest of the episode.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Mm hmm. Yeah, they talk about how well we don't
- 6:20Speaker 3: really know what Joel and the mother did to her.
- 6:23Speaker 3: She's just saying that she didn't give her any love
- 6:27Speaker 3: or show her the same love as Jen and that
- 6:30Speaker 3: her Joellen's friends and her husband give her the love
- 6:33Speaker 3: that she requires. We don't really know yet. Oh yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 3: And they talked about how her mom sent to her
- 6:39Speaker 3: too a behavior a behavioral place like kind of like
- 6:42Speaker 3: one of those camps for like really bad people like
- 6:44Speaker 3: arsenists and stabbers. She said so, and Joel and says
- 6:50Speaker 3: that she was just doing basic teen you know, drinking.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Maybe I don't really know, she doesn't say, but she
- 6:57Speaker 3: wasn't on the level of arsenists and staff.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah, she didn't maybe belonde this like it was a
- 7:04Speaker 2: not the right move. But it's gonna be interesting. I
- 7:07Speaker 2: saw this part. It's kind of been a storyline. Yeah,
- 7:11Speaker 2: we saw Jolenes's mom come into the house at one
- 7:15Speaker 2: of the episodes. They obviously are still talking, They're still
- 7:18Speaker 2: reasonably close.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's going to be very awkward. I feel like
- 7:24Speaker 4: for Jollens's mom to be watching these episodes. Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I mean, the little teaser we have with Joalenes's mom
- 7:30Speaker 3: is she was like, I showed love the way that
- 7:32Speaker 3: love was showed to me, or like that's what my
- 7:34Speaker 3: parents did. So the general ritional trauma is definitely going
- 7:38Speaker 3: to be a theme here, and I guess you could
- 7:40Speaker 3: also get into that with Alicia and her dolls. You know,
- 7:43Speaker 3: that's something weird.
- 7:45Speaker 2: The dolls do help us kind of push towards the
- 7:49Speaker 2: rest of the episode, which happens at a mansion.
- 7:51Speaker 4: It's a new Port mansion.
- 7:53Speaker 2: The ladies are writing and style in a Royals roice.
- 7:59Speaker 2: They pull up to a hundred year old, forty three
- 8:02Speaker 2: thousand square feet eighteen bathroom, twenty nine bedroom mansion in Newport.
- 8:09Speaker 2: It's a dull tea party like theme at least at
- 8:13Speaker 2: the beginning. Ashley comes back with the pigtails.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Yes, she comes back with the pigtails and also holding
- 8:20Speaker 3: her dirty, dirty, old new bounced sneakers. In her hand
- 8:24Speaker 3: as she rolls up. I'm like, can you just for
- 8:27Speaker 3: once be uncomfortable? You know, Like she always has to
- 8:32Speaker 3: have her jacket, her snacks and yeah, why didn't she
- 8:36Speaker 3: like put them in her suitcase or her bag? Probably
- 8:38Speaker 3: because they didn't fit. And she goes, oh, I'll just
- 8:40Speaker 3: carry them a normal person, Like I'll get a bigger
- 8:42Speaker 3: suitcase or I'll have two bags. I'll just carry these
- 8:46Speaker 3: disgusting sneakers around. Classic Ashley, you know.
- 8:50Speaker 4: It's good to see.
- 8:52Speaker 2: However, there is that moment where you're like, Ashley, you
- 8:55Speaker 2: know what show you're on? Can you fake it? Just
- 8:57Speaker 2: fake it just for this I'm not asking, like for
- 9:01Speaker 2: your character to change, your personality change, but you're in
- 9:04Speaker 2: a Rolls Royce. Step out of that thing, I know
- 9:08Speaker 2: and style.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I know. That was my only note for that scene. Really,
- 9:11Speaker 3: I saw her carrying the shoes and I go, wow,
- 9:13Speaker 3: she really couldn't just pretend for a minute.
- 9:16Speaker 2: She can't, she can't pretend for a minute. The tea
- 9:20Speaker 2: party theme is doll themed. I think that's fantastic, and
- 9:24Speaker 2: also dolls do creep me out. But Ashley's very into
- 9:27Speaker 2: this theme. But yeah, yeah, they use her commentary on
- 9:31Speaker 2: all the dolls that she's had grown up.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, Asha would love any like childish sort
- 9:36Speaker 3: of thing. So that's why her and Alicia kind of
- 9:38Speaker 3: get along. Yeah, she still has her so many dolls,
- 9:42Speaker 3: so many dolls in her room, still at.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Home, Lauren.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I think, up until this point the episode is fairly tame.
- 9:48Speaker 2: We set the stage for a few things, right, We
- 9:52Speaker 2: get a little bit of a glimpse into Joe Ellen's upbringing.
- 9:55Speaker 2: We obviously understand that Kelsey is now single and I
- 9:59Speaker 2: don't even know if we can day living alone or
- 10:02Speaker 2: moving off on her own. We find out later that
- 10:04Speaker 2: that is not the definition of what she's actually doing.
- 10:07Speaker 2: She's getting financially supported to just have her own space.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Is more or less the.
- 10:13Speaker 3: He literally paid her to get out of the house.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he said, hey, I'll give you any amount of
- 10:17Speaker 2: money if you get your own apartment.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I'll pay for everything. You just can't live here any longer.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and in so many words that that is what happened.
- 10:27Speaker 4: And she can say, oh, we over exaggerating there.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Honestly, based on what she told us, that seems to
- 10:34Speaker 3: be what happened, even if it looked like a normal breakup.
- 10:38Speaker 3: A normal breakup does not require financial support afterwards. But
- 10:41Speaker 3: she did make a good point. I will say this
- 10:43Speaker 3: that if they were married, she would leave with a
- 10:45Speaker 3: lot more. So I get that. But guess what, he
- 10:50Speaker 3: didn't marry you, so you don't get that.
- 10:52Speaker 4: There's no way that dude doesn't do a prenup.
- 10:55Speaker 3: He's a lawyer, a lawyer, judge family.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm sure she might have agreed to get
- 11:02Speaker 2: something out of this, but you're ten years in and
- 11:06Speaker 2: there's been no signs of marriage, and so I don't
- 11:08Speaker 2: know why marriage was ever the expectation that you thought
- 11:11Speaker 2: you had. And Lauren, I'd make the argument that she
- 11:17Speaker 2: lived in his home for free for ten years. That
- 11:21Speaker 2: might have been payment enough.
- 11:23Speaker 3: That's so, yeah, that's true, and I would be kind.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I would be kinder to this situation if she didn't
- 11:30Speaker 3: attack other people for things that she does not have.
- 11:34Speaker 3: We'll get into that, I guess when we get to
- 11:36Speaker 3: the Rose the Fighter at the Masked dinner where Liz
- 11:40Speaker 3: delivers all these different masks to the girls and then
- 11:44Speaker 3: she hands them out, and of course she gives Ashley
- 11:47Speaker 3: the worst mask. Now, I think that is hilarious. Her
- 11:50Speaker 3: sitting there not being able to eat or drink or
- 11:53Speaker 3: make any kind of face, and Liz said, I think
- 11:56Speaker 3: Ashley is Liz's least favorite around the table, which is okay, hey,
- 12:00Speaker 3: like they're not extremely close, so she's like, here's the
- 12:02Speaker 3: shittiest mask. But then I think according to Ashley, this
- 12:08Speaker 3: evening and this trip of the mansion, Liz and Ashley
- 12:11Speaker 3: got closer, so that may have switched later on.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a brutal it's a brutal mask. I don't
- 12:18Speaker 2: know who picked it out.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I mean I think Liz did.
- 12:21Speaker 4: It's brutal.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It's really cover up everything, and you're like, hey, yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 2: Ashley sit in a mask that has no breathable parts
- 12:28Speaker 2: to it.
- 12:31Speaker 4: And just sit there like it's it's it's comedy.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Honestly, just watching Ashley sit at dinner like fully covered
- 12:39Speaker 2: in this mask without the ability to make any facial
- 12:42Speaker 2: expressions to feel so awkward and weird. I want to
- 12:47Speaker 2: flash back though a little bit, because everything was tame
- 12:51Speaker 2: up until the moment where the doll party begins. And
- 12:58Speaker 2: we've mentioned it before, but for and there must be
- 13:02Speaker 2: more to the story than I understand. But these ladies
- 13:05Speaker 2: really don't like Rosie. They really don't other than Ashley.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I don't think Rosie has a friend in that group.
- 13:13Speaker 2: And not just friends. They have people that are very
- 13:16Speaker 2: open to make Rosie feel worse about herself without saying
- 13:22Speaker 2: a word. And it happens when Joellen walks out and
- 13:24Speaker 2: looks at Rosie and says, hey, you look like a stripper.
- 13:27Speaker 3: How could that come out of someone's mouth, Even to
- 13:29Speaker 3: my best friend, I wouldn't say you look like a stripper.
- 13:32Speaker 3: And I was so. I mean, it wasn't a great outfit,
- 13:35Speaker 3: but it was for a tea party. It was for
- 13:37Speaker 3: a doll tea party. You can wear whatever you want
- 13:39Speaker 3: to a doll tea party.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I haven't attended like strip clubs in my life, but
- 13:44Speaker 2: I would imagine that strip club outfits don't look like that.
- 13:50Speaker 3: No, maybe like at the beginning of the nights, before
- 13:52Speaker 3: the clothes.
- 13:53Speaker 2: They wear like a hat and like a little like
- 13:57Speaker 2: she kind of looked like, I'm not gonna remember the
- 14:00Speaker 2: what's the person?
- 14:01Speaker 4: Little bo peepe Yes.
- 14:03Speaker 3: She looked like little bo Peep. That would have been
- 14:04Speaker 3: the proper diss if you wanted to diss Rosie on
- 14:06Speaker 3: her outfit. But I think she really came into this
- 14:09Speaker 3: mansion trip as like I'm just gonna let them say
- 14:13Speaker 3: whatever they want and I'm just gonna like ignore everything.
- 14:15Speaker 3: So she didn't seem bothered by it. She kind of
- 14:19Speaker 3: just is very relaxed. Like she told her husband, She's like,
- 14:22Speaker 3: I'm just gonna try and be me, which is more
- 14:24Speaker 3: quiet than I have been. So that's what she's doing,
- 14:28Speaker 3: taking the taking.
- 14:29Speaker 2: The hits, taking the hits to try to fit in. Yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 2: how I she's not enjoying this experience so far. Just
- 14:37Speaker 2: in general, We're six episodes deep and it feels like
- 14:40Speaker 2: Rosie's confidence has gotten.
- 14:43Speaker 3: The light is durraining from her eyes.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Okay, let's go to this masquerade dinner. Then the adult
- 15:00Speaker 2: party is what it is.
- 15:02Speaker 3: They're kind of talking about Rula a little bit, but
- 15:04Speaker 3: they're like, let's just say the rule a top for
- 15:05Speaker 3: when Rula is here.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Basically, yeah, and that's it is respectful to the situation ahead.
- 15:11Speaker 2: There is a moment where Alicia cannot pronounce the word
- 15:14Speaker 2: facade and great.
- 15:16Speaker 4: It's great, and it's great.
- 15:19Speaker 2: It also is for me a reminder of what who
- 15:26Speaker 2: like what exactly is happening here? We have a bunch
- 15:29Speaker 2: of people trying to make life work, one can't read
- 15:33Speaker 2: the word, like one is now living outside of her
- 15:39Speaker 2: big mansion for the first time. Like, let's just set
- 15:41Speaker 2: the stage for this dinner party where everybody gets a
- 15:44Speaker 2: mask chosen by Liz a note attached to it. The
- 15:50Speaker 2: masks range in beauty and glamour. And then you do
- 15:54Speaker 2: have Ashley's mask, which is a full faced plastic ask
- 16:01Speaker 2: that's painted gold.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yeah. And I don't remember the reason why Liz gave
- 16:06Speaker 3: her that when she said it's because she like hides
- 16:09Speaker 3: or something she hides. I think, yeah, But I think
- 16:12Speaker 3: they start around the table delivering all their sad stories.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Do they start with Alisha, they start Joellen.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I think it's Joe, and they start Ellen.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and Joellen talks about her mother, which we already
- 16:24Speaker 3: talked about, and then I guess we go to Alisha.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Was there anything else to that? I guess. The biggest
- 16:32Speaker 3: drama was that Alicia said she was.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Homeless, and it seemed to be.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Incorrect according to Liz.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Yeah, she's her.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Her memory of her childhood is corrected by Liz, and she.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Lived with her grandparents in apparently a very lovely house
- 16:50Speaker 3: when her dad left. When Alicia's dad left, and I
- 16:54Speaker 3: know that down the line this becomes an issue between
- 16:56Speaker 3: Liz and Alisha. I think they get in an argument
- 16:58Speaker 3: of this down the line, because how dare you tell
- 17:01Speaker 3: me about my life experience? You know, like, yeah, you
- 17:03Speaker 3: were kind of there for it, but like maybe it
- 17:05Speaker 3: was more traumatic for Alicia than you know, just living
- 17:10Speaker 3: with your grandparents. I kind of feel bad for Alicia.
- 17:13Speaker 3: They always tear up to be like the stupid one
- 17:15Speaker 3: and discrediting everything she says. Liz is like, I'm trying
- 17:19Speaker 3: to save you from looking stupid because Everard and Rhode
- 17:22Speaker 3: Island knows your story and you can't lie make it
- 17:24Speaker 3: sound sadder than it is.
- 17:26Speaker 2: The problem is, I mean, there is some wisdom to this.
- 17:30Speaker 2: If you were in Liz's shoes, where you go, Okay,
- 17:31Speaker 2: she's already said it on TV. It's already going to
- 17:34Speaker 2: be shown. Me correcting her doesn't make it look any better.
- 17:39Speaker 2: That really only makes me look like the person that
- 17:41Speaker 2: knows it all and is correct. And so you know,
- 17:47Speaker 2: I don't know if you've ever had this happen, Lauren,
- 17:49Speaker 2: but I have close friends in my life who I've
- 17:51Speaker 2: known since I was six years old. This reminded me
- 17:54Speaker 2: of one of those moments where you know, the friends
- 17:56Speaker 2: are sitting in the room and you think you have
- 17:58Speaker 2: your your peace people there, your backers, and then you
- 18:03Speaker 2: say something and you're quickly corrected by one of them,
- 18:07Speaker 2: just out of them trying to prove themselves right, and
- 18:10Speaker 2: it hurts deeply. Yeah, because you're sitting there going wait,
- 18:13Speaker 2: you're a friend of mine. You're supposed to have my
- 18:15Speaker 2: back now. Was Alicia homeless or not?
- 18:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 18:19Speaker 2: It's how she remembers it, and it's the story she
- 18:21Speaker 2: wants people wants to tell and wants people to hear.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Is that right or wrong? It's not dissimilar if she
- 18:29Speaker 2: is over exaggerating to what they've jumped down Rosie's throat
- 18:33Speaker 2: for saying her house is going to.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Be bigger than it is.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Very good, Ben, that's a very good comparison.
- 18:38Speaker 4: I've been watching.
- 18:39Speaker 3: That is so true. Yeah, it's like holmeless is the
- 18:44Speaker 3: wrong word. Maybe five thousand square feet is the wrong word,
- 18:46Speaker 3: you know, but it's similar, and that's what they want
- 18:49Speaker 3: to portray. I do know, like Ashley likes accuracy, so
- 18:55Speaker 3: she will do this to our friends all the time,
- 18:57Speaker 3: Like she will say No, that's not true. You only
- 19:00Speaker 3: dated Him's like, oh I did him for ten years.
- 19:02Speaker 3: It's like you dated him for six years because remember
- 19:04Speaker 3: we were here, and that's when he asked your up
- 19:06Speaker 3: with herself, like she needs the accuracy and then she'll
- 19:09Speaker 3: disrupt like big, grandiose stories. So maybe Liz is one
- 19:12Speaker 3: of those people that really likes accuracy.
- 19:13Speaker 2: That's a good that could happen. And it's also maybe
- 19:16Speaker 2: why Ashley, as she is presented with explaining her trauma
- 19:22Speaker 2: as a childhood, this whole thing feels weird to me. Lauren,
- 19:24Speaker 2: let's pause here. The whole concept of this is, I
- 19:28Speaker 2: guess to trauma bond to bring them closer together through
- 19:31Speaker 2: their own traumas. That feels very unhealthy to me, especially
- 19:36Speaker 2: in a group of people who currently still have things
- 19:40Speaker 2: that will be traumatic in two years for them and
- 19:42Speaker 2: they're choosing to live within them. I'm thinking, you know,
- 19:46Speaker 2: marriages that are falling apart, you know parents that they're
- 19:51Speaker 2: not close.
- 19:51Speaker 4: With, parents are financial. Yeah, like they're living in the
- 19:56Speaker 4: midst of this.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yet they think like, and this feels crazy to me
- 20:01Speaker 2: that the start of building a relationship with each other
- 20:04Speaker 2: will be trauma bonding with each other and as a result,
- 20:08Speaker 2: typically when you do group trauma therapy, somebody's trying to
- 20:12Speaker 2: one up the next person. It could be why Alicia
- 20:14Speaker 2: said I'm homeless. It could be you know, like, you try,
- 20:17Speaker 2: you're like, but you get to Ashley.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Mm hmm. They're all scared of looking like Ashley, which
- 20:23Speaker 3: is basically like, oh, not a lot happened to me,
- 20:26Speaker 3: And why is that such a terrible thing, Because when
- 20:29Speaker 3: life is harder, makes the other person's life more valuable.
- 20:32Speaker 3: It's like they made her look silly. And I know
- 20:35Speaker 3: Ashley wasn't crying because she's actually scared of when someone dies,
- 20:39Speaker 3: like we're all going to go through it, it's gonna be traumatic.
- 20:43Speaker 3: That's not why she's crying. She's crying because she's uncomfortable
- 20:46Speaker 3: that this is an uncomfortable experience going around the table
- 20:48Speaker 3: and waiting for your turn to say, to try and
- 20:50Speaker 3: one up a sad story, and she just knows she's
- 20:52Speaker 3: gonna get crickets at the end of it. So I
- 20:55Speaker 3: feel bad for her. I feel bad they look stupid.
- 20:57Speaker 3: They made her look stupid. But it was a very
- 20:59Speaker 3: small blipin episode because they move right along to Rosie
- 21:02Speaker 3: and then they start attacking Rosie.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I think for us watching it and for Ashley,
- 21:08Speaker 2: it's going to be a big moment in the episode.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I do think when you are just a fan, you're
- 21:14Speaker 2: gonna say, you know, it was a blimp. But Ashlely
- 21:20Speaker 2: the part we have to respect here, and it is
- 21:23Speaker 2: why this episode was lacking in fun.
- 21:26Speaker 1: For me.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Was one thing that I think.
- 21:30Speaker 2: We need to celebrate in life is people not trying
- 21:33Speaker 2: to create stories to get attention. Yes, and one thing
- 21:36Speaker 2: we see in Ashley there is that she's not trying
- 21:39Speaker 2: to create a false narrative to get more attention from
- 21:41Speaker 2: the group. She would be much more likely to bond
- 21:44Speaker 2: with them over something enjoyable or shared interests or shared
- 21:49Speaker 2: empathy than she ever would to say, Hey, I'm going
- 21:52Speaker 2: to sit here in my moment and lie about something
- 21:55Speaker 2: so that the group will respond in a way that
- 21:57Speaker 2: makes them feel something towards me. I don't want them
- 22:00Speaker 2: to feel something towards me when it comes to me
- 22:02Speaker 2: being the victim.
- 22:04Speaker 4: I'm not the victim here. I don't have any experiences.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Of a victim having been like a victim, and I'm
- 22:10Speaker 2: not going to try to create a narrative to become
- 22:13Speaker 2: a victim, and that dismiss in a lot of ways
- 22:16Speaker 2: diminishes the real stories that people have of trauma.
- 22:20Speaker 4: If I am going to create my own.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Yeah, actually actually said that verbatim. She goes, I didn't
- 22:26Speaker 3: want to discredit them and by trying to like make
- 22:31Speaker 3: like my OCD sound bigger than it is, because it
- 22:33Speaker 3: would be insulting to them and their stories, like Liz
- 22:36Speaker 3: had a very traumatic story in Joe Ellen's relationship with
- 22:39Speaker 3: her mother and so on and so forth, and Kelsey
- 22:43Speaker 3: apparently her relationship with her ex is traumatic. But yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 3: so she was like, I didn't even want to attempt
- 22:50Speaker 3: to say anything, and that made me uncomfortable as well,
- 22:52Speaker 3: because nothing's gonna compared to a lot of those things.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Well, there's wisdom, and I think this comes with being married,
- 23:00Speaker 2: being a mom, having good friendships, having a close sister,
- 23:04Speaker 2: having good parents. There's wisdom and when in knowing when
- 23:10Speaker 2: it's your time to speak out and speak up and
- 23:13Speaker 2: also stay silent and be the listener Ashley's listening. I
- 23:16Speaker 2: guarantee you should go around and say, that's what that
- 23:18Speaker 2: person said, that's what that person said. However, it's not
- 23:21Speaker 2: my time to speak up. And try to one up
- 23:23Speaker 2: anybody here or try to even explain anything that's not
- 23:26Speaker 2: going to make sense. I'm going to be the silent
- 23:29Speaker 2: partner here who is listening to the stories of these women.
- 23:32Speaker 2: That's healthy. But when we start to say everybody needs
- 23:36Speaker 2: to have their story, that's when it gets unhealthy. And
- 23:38Speaker 2: it's coming from an unhealthy place. Yeah, really, what it
- 23:42Speaker 2: would have been beautiful here and I don't think Ashley
- 23:45Speaker 2: like communicated in a way that maybe would have been
- 23:50Speaker 2: the perfect segue. But what would have been really nice
- 23:53Speaker 2: is if all these ladies would have like rallied around
- 23:56Speaker 2: Ashley and said, hey, like, congrats to your parents.
- 24:00Speaker 4: They're still married.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 24:02Speaker 2: They showed you love and care and support. Congrats to
- 24:05Speaker 2: Jared on letting you feel safe and comfortable in your household,
- 24:09Speaker 2: in your marriage. And Ashley, congrats to you for making
- 24:13Speaker 2: decisions that you know have been following along with this
- 24:16Speaker 2: dream that you've had of being a mom and being
- 24:18Speaker 2: a wife and being a daughter, and like, congrats to
- 24:22Speaker 2: these things.
- 24:23Speaker 4: You don't need the.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Trauma to relate to us. But what we want to
- 24:26Speaker 2: say is like, let's lift your parents up, because maybe
- 24:31Speaker 2: they haven't heard it and just say well done.
- 24:34Speaker 3: So very well said Ben. I wanted to say something
- 24:36Speaker 3: similar to that, but obviously you crushed it. Yeah, they
- 24:40Speaker 3: just they heard her say that, like oh actually, And
- 24:43Speaker 3: also if she was to say like I just want
- 24:45Speaker 3: to say like this isn't my place, like I hear
- 24:47Speaker 3: you guys, they would be like, of course Ash's not
- 24:50Speaker 3: talking again, She's not letting us in again. It's like
- 24:53Speaker 3: there is nothing to let you in and I just
- 24:55Speaker 3: want to respect you guys. So that's all very well said.
- 24:58Speaker 2: It does flash quickly to a comment that's made to
- 25:02Speaker 2: Rosie and it's taken I guess by the Ashley Rosi
- 25:06Speaker 2: team as disingenuous. Yeah, backhanded, backhanded, and Ashley does speak
- 25:14Speaker 2: up in this moment yep, what did you feel about it?
- 25:17Speaker 4: Lauren? Like kind of walk us through.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Okay. So Rosie talks about her anxiety, very relatable, obviously
- 25:27Speaker 3: not I think she talks about like being perfect for
- 25:32Speaker 3: her mother something along onto that. But then it flashes
- 25:38Speaker 3: to Kelsey being like, well, Rosie, that was like really
- 25:42Speaker 3: that was nice because I felt like you were being
- 25:44Speaker 3: genuine for once, and then Ashley and Rosie are like,
- 25:49Speaker 3: what do you mean for once? And then they're like,
- 25:51Speaker 3: come on, just accept the compliment.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Just accept it.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Why did you have to flip it? How how about
- 25:57Speaker 3: you just said that was really genuine of you. I've
- 26:00Speaker 3: really like liked hearing that rather than for once you've
- 26:04Speaker 3: actually sold like there was a way to say it,
- 26:07Speaker 3: there was. It was obviously backhanded, and I just can't
- 26:10Speaker 3: see it in another way. I can't see it from
- 26:12Speaker 3: joel On's point of view, where she was like, just
- 26:14Speaker 3: accept the compliment, can you?
- 26:16Speaker 2: No, Because we've all had those things said to us
- 26:19Speaker 2: multiple times in so many ways of you know, the
- 26:22Speaker 2: backhanded compliments, the comments that are said, and you can
- 26:28Speaker 2: read through the.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Lines, Yeah, you can't let that fly.
- 26:32Speaker 2: No, And I'm in those moments as I've gotten older,
- 26:36Speaker 2: they have been the moments that I've spoken up and said,
- 26:38Speaker 2: what do you mean by that? Like, elaborate on what
- 26:41Speaker 2: you're actually trying to tell me, because I would have
- 26:43Speaker 2: appreciated a lot more if you would have just directly said,
- 26:47Speaker 2: I feel like you've been lying to me since the
- 26:49Speaker 2: day we've met, then I would, Hey, it's nice that
- 26:52Speaker 2: you're finally being genuine for ones that's a you know,
- 26:57Speaker 2: it feels like a stab. It feels like a prick
- 27:02Speaker 2: after mini pricks with the knife in your back and
- 27:05Speaker 2: just going I'm exhausted those comments exhausted.
- 27:08Speaker 3: It's exhausting, and you have to speak up in the moment.
- 27:11Speaker 3: And then they do. They say why would you do that?
- 27:14Speaker 3: And they're like, just accept the compliment, but why jenuine
- 27:18Speaker 3: for once? And so then they go back that it ends.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Rosie defeatedly says thank you. I accept it, but then
- 27:26Speaker 3: they're still like, I can't believe you did that. And
- 27:28Speaker 3: then Ashley and Rosie go back to their room and
- 27:30Speaker 3: they're obviously debriefing and they're like going over like what
- 27:32Speaker 3: did I miss there? Like how did we misinterpret this?
- 27:35Speaker 3: I don't understand? And then Kelsey and Joellen are listening
- 27:39Speaker 3: outside the door, what like doors closed obviously on girls trips,
- 27:43Speaker 3: this happens every time you're rooming with your best friend.
- 27:46Speaker 3: You go back to the room and you talk about
- 27:47Speaker 3: the other girls. It's not science, okay, like like that's
- 27:51Speaker 3: what you do. And then Kelsey and Joelan are listening
- 27:53Speaker 3: through the door Ashley and Rosie debriefing, and then she
- 27:57Speaker 3: comes in and are like Kelsey's like, why didn't you
- 28:02Speaker 3: just say this? At the table, like you do every
- 28:04Speaker 3: opportunity to talk about this at the table, she says,
- 28:07Speaker 3: I did. I said, why would you backhanded compliment me
- 28:11Speaker 3: like that? Like she gave her the opportunity and she
- 28:15Speaker 3: took it. So she's acting like she didn't already talk
- 28:17Speaker 3: to her about it and only talking behind her back.
- 28:20Speaker 3: I hated that, and Kelsey is like, as she goes,
- 28:24Speaker 3: please give me example so we can like squash us.
- 28:27Speaker 3: What are the examples that she lied about? And she
- 28:29Speaker 3: said the square.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Footage of her house what still a thing?
- 28:34Speaker 3: So let me get all these points why Kelsey hates Rosie.
- 28:39Speaker 3: She didn't post her on Instagram, she didn't tag her
- 28:44Speaker 3: on Instagram, she lied about her, the scare footage of
- 28:47Speaker 3: her house, and she asked about her boyfriend. Is that correct?
- 28:54Speaker 3: Those are the three reasons why Kelsey doesn't like Rosie.
- 28:57Speaker 3: So what's the issue here?
- 28:59Speaker 2: I can from Kelsey's side where the question about her
- 29:03Speaker 2: boyfriend came off as mean spirited. That's the one point
- 29:08Speaker 2: here where if you watch the flashback, the Bravo's so
- 29:11Speaker 2: good at doing, Yeah, you watch it back and you go,
- 29:15Speaker 2: I feel like if I was to assume what Rosie
- 29:18Speaker 2: was trying to get at I think she was trying
- 29:20Speaker 2: to get at sparking a conversation about Kelsey and her
- 29:23Speaker 2: multiple partners and make a judgment call based on that.
- 29:29Speaker 4: That's the one part here. Square footage of house.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I don't think any of my friends have ever told
- 29:33Speaker 2: me the accurate square footage of their house, big or small.
- 29:36Speaker 3: No, I'm the builder doesn't know.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Okay, the job with Rosie, I don't know who to.
- 29:44Speaker 4: I mean, I don't really care.
- 29:46Speaker 3: But it's nothing that is attacking Kelsey herself. Like Rosie
- 29:50Speaker 3: isn't attacking Kelsey, So I don't know why she's meant.
- 29:53Speaker 3: So she elaborated maybe on the square footage, and she
- 29:56Speaker 3: said she took a health break for her job because
- 29:59Speaker 3: she had colitis. It's not directly affecting Kelsey. And that's
- 30:02Speaker 3: where I'm like confused. It's not like she's being mean
- 30:05Speaker 3: towards Kelsey. And if it's only because she asks about
- 30:09Speaker 3: her holyamorous relationship, then that's then don't get it into
- 30:14Speaker 3: relationship like that if you're expecting not judgment, you know.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a kind of as we started this season,
- 30:21Speaker 2: there was this kind of tone that Kelsey's relationship was
- 30:24Speaker 2: going to be off limits, almost like her boyfriend was
- 30:27Speaker 2: never going to show up to filming.
- 30:29Speaker 4: It wasn't really going to get talked about.
- 30:31Speaker 2: But obviously it has gotten talked about, because that's what
- 30:34Speaker 2: this show seems to be is talking about relationships and
- 30:37Speaker 2: all the craziness that happens in our relationships. And we're
- 30:40Speaker 2: supposed to watch his viewers and go, hey, that seems
- 30:42Speaker 2: good or that seems bad. Yes, so you're not going
- 30:46Speaker 2: to get away from it. And so Rosie maybe was
- 30:48Speaker 2: the first one to open up the door to talk
- 30:50Speaker 2: about it. But it was going to get talked about anyways,
- 30:53Speaker 2: just because of you know, this situation that we're in
- 30:57Speaker 2: in the show that you're on.
- 30:58Speaker 4: We know that.
- 30:59Speaker 2: And now you've gone through a breakup, so you're talking
- 31:01Speaker 2: about your relationship and you're talking about the details of
- 31:04Speaker 2: this relationship in a way that we've you know, not
- 31:08Speaker 2: heard before it. But also is this there's like wisdom Lauren,
- 31:15Speaker 2: you know you said it where on a girl's trip
- 31:17Speaker 2: you go back to your room and you talk about
- 31:18Speaker 2: everything that's happened. Yeah, there's wisdom in kind of choosing
- 31:22Speaker 2: who you confide into. And Ashley and Rosie in that moment,
- 31:25Speaker 2: are confiding in each other because they feel kind of
- 31:28Speaker 2: like their own little island right now, and that, in
- 31:31Speaker 2: a lot of ways, is healthy. You need to balance
- 31:33Speaker 2: your thoughts off of somebody going, Hey, was that Did
- 31:35Speaker 2: I read that wrong? Did I overreact? Did I underreact?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Should I have stood up for myself? Should I not have? Like,
- 31:42Speaker 2: that's just processing with somebody. It doesn't feel unhealthy. What
- 31:47Speaker 2: would have been unhealthy is if they would have said, hey,
- 31:50Speaker 2: three other girls that we know can all agree with us. Yes, girls,
- 31:53Speaker 2: come into the room and let's all talk about the
- 31:56Speaker 2: one person that's sitting on the outside listening.
- 31:58Speaker 4: That would have been unhealthy.
- 31:59Speaker 3: And me, yeah, I also kind of like got this
- 32:03Speaker 3: very like mean girl gang up mentality. Like I when
- 32:08Speaker 3: Kelsey and Joelan walk in the room and then actually
- 32:11Speaker 3: asked for specifics they talk with the square footage. Kelsey's like,
- 32:16Speaker 3: Rosy's like I don't care anymore, Like I'm really I'm
- 32:19Speaker 3: really exhausted from this. And then Kelsey's like she's not
- 32:21Speaker 3: fighting back. This is calm Rosie. And then she was
- 32:24Speaker 3: like come on, Joe, come on, Joe, like follow me,
- 32:27Speaker 3: follow me out. I am the leader here, follow me out.
- 32:30Speaker 3: And like you said earlier before we started recording, is
- 32:34Speaker 3: basically these like uh, Liz, Liz, Joe Allen, and Alicia,
- 32:41Speaker 3: I guess, aren't going to attack each other because they're
- 32:43Speaker 3: actually very scared of each other and they're scared of
- 32:45Speaker 3: pissing each other off. So they're going for the two
- 32:47Speaker 3: girls on the outside who really don't have as many
- 32:50Speaker 3: ties to the Rhode Island and the inner workings of
- 32:53Speaker 3: their families and the relationships and everything, so they're allowed
- 32:56Speaker 3: to attack those people. So I feel like maybe Kelsey
- 32:59Speaker 3: wants attack someone else and she just can't. Like one time,
- 33:03Speaker 3: for example, I was with my friend and Ashley, and
- 33:08Speaker 3: I was so mad at my friend, but I couldn't
- 33:10Speaker 3: like piss her off, so I couldn't like attack her.
- 33:14Speaker 3: So I kind of just like picked Ashley to be
- 33:16Speaker 3: mad at because I'm allowed to be mad at her.
- 33:18Speaker 3: You know, So you kind of like fight with someone
- 33:21Speaker 3: that is a common denominator.
- 33:25Speaker 4: There, Yeah, I mean I think you're you're hitting on it.
- 33:28Speaker 2: And Kelsey's choosing the common denominators because she also doesn't
- 33:32Speaker 2: want to go after the women and that you know,
- 33:35Speaker 2: group of three powerful you know, kind of like patriarchs,
- 33:39Speaker 2: of the show. They're the ones that are together there,
- 33:44Speaker 2: and so you're picking on the two people on the outside. Yeah,
- 33:47Speaker 2: and they're not really picking on Ashley. I don't want
- 33:49Speaker 2: to throw Ashley into this. She she's getting comments, but
- 33:52Speaker 2: everybody's getting comments on this show. She doesn't feel like
- 33:56Speaker 2: she's getting crushed. But what I'm wondering is they w
- 34:00Speaker 2: Ashley to open up so badly? Is it because they
- 34:03Speaker 2: want her to open up so that they can crush her?
- 34:06Speaker 2: Because so far, the one thing I haven't seen is
- 34:10Speaker 2: true support throughout the season from friends yet, so the
- 34:15Speaker 2: more somebody opens up, the more I feel like they
- 34:17Speaker 2: open themselves up to criticism and things that are really
- 34:20Speaker 2: like personal to them that you don't see somebody open up.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Really.
- 34:24Speaker 2: That's why this trauma bonding thing was so weird to me.
- 34:27Speaker 2: And then everybody rallies around and says, hey, you've got this.
- 34:31Speaker 4: You know you can. It feels very unhealthy.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I know while filming, they were really
- 34:39Speaker 3: pushing Ashley to give us more, like there's got to
- 34:42Speaker 3: be more. There's got to be more. I don't know
- 34:44Speaker 3: how many times I can say there isn't more. Because
- 34:48Speaker 3: they wanted to use it against her and you know,
- 34:50Speaker 3: have it come up with the other girls, and then
- 34:52Speaker 3: there'd be actual drama rather than just like defending the
- 34:57Speaker 3: fights with Rosie over nothing. I hope that I'm not
- 35:00Speaker 3: again just looking at it from this one perspective.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I think we are.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Are we really? Because I just I really tried to
- 35:08Speaker 3: step out and I'm like, if I was watching Kelsey
- 35:11Speaker 3: yell at Rosie, would I be like, what is she
- 35:14Speaker 3: mad about? As someone who was like not a fan
- 35:17Speaker 3: of Rosie and Ashley?
- 35:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I still think that's the question.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I think.
- 35:21Speaker 2: I do think actually that is a genuine response from
- 35:25Speaker 2: the viewership of Kelsey.
- 35:26Speaker 4: What are you actually mad about?
- 35:28Speaker 1: Like?
- 35:28Speaker 4: What has caused you to be so angry at Rosie? Here?
- 35:43Speaker 3: Now, do we want to talk about the new things
- 35:44Speaker 3: that are coming out as of this week because we're
- 35:46Speaker 3: almost at the end of the episode and I know
- 35:48Speaker 3: there's like interviews going around of Kelsey.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Yeah, we definitely can. Yeah, you want to touch on it?
- 35:54Speaker 3: Sure, So this interview with Kelsey came out. She did
- 35:57Speaker 3: a podcast with two guys I don't remember the podcast,
- 36:00Speaker 3: page six, So they said basically, are you do you
- 36:06Speaker 3: hang out with Ashley or the question. Then Kelsey said,
- 36:10Speaker 3: I've DMed her, I've reached out. She doesn't respond to
- 36:15Speaker 3: my dms, and that she keeps to herself, and then
- 36:18Speaker 3: she treats this as a job. She films, then goes home,
- 36:22Speaker 3: and I know that no one has invited Ashley to
- 36:29Speaker 3: hang out besides Rosie and Rosie and Ashley hang out.
- 36:33Speaker 3: And if Kelsey would like to hang out with Ashley,
- 36:35Speaker 3: maybe an invite would be great. But also, Ashley doesn't
- 36:39Speaker 3: have a lot of time. Okay, she's got two little kids.
- 36:42Speaker 3: She's working almost every hour of the day. If Kelsey,
- 36:46Speaker 3: you know, wanted to hang out with Ashley, she probably
- 36:48Speaker 3: should have asked and go to Chuck e Cheese with
- 36:51Speaker 3: her kids. Rosie goes to Chuck e Cheese, goes to
- 36:55Speaker 3: all like the trampoline parks and stuff. She just like inflatrates.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Ashley's like, there's not a lot of time to go
- 37:01Speaker 3: get on a little boat and have lunch every day
- 37:03Speaker 3: and have your seats picked out of your lemons. Very
- 37:06Speaker 3: different stages of life here. Maybe that's why her and
- 37:09Speaker 3: Liz get along. They're not in the same stage of life,
- 37:12Speaker 3: but they have the same like time on their hands.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I don't think she actually wants to hang out with
- 37:17Speaker 3: ash I think she just said that as like a
- 37:18Speaker 3: little a little job, you know.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Allegedly, there's receipts where there has been complete correspondence back
- 37:28Speaker 2: and forth on direct messages. Yes, that the idea that
- 37:34Speaker 2: Ashley has ignored Kelsey's you know messages is just not true.
- 37:39Speaker 3: She would never ignore a message from someone she knows personally.
- 37:44Speaker 4: And it is a weird.
- 37:45Speaker 2: It is kind of a weird argument to start where it's, Hey,
- 37:49Speaker 2: this mom of two doesn't hang out with us during
- 37:54Speaker 2: the day like everybody else. Again, here's where my frustration happens,
- 37:59Speaker 2: Lauren Ashley or not. Instead of criticism there, how about
- 38:05Speaker 2: we turn it to support for Wow, Ashley, I'm sure
- 38:09Speaker 2: would love to take a boat ride and drink wine
- 38:12Speaker 2: for five hours of her day.
- 38:14Speaker 4: That would be amazing.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not an option in her life. Or she's
- 38:20Speaker 2: intentionally chosen to stay at home with her kids and
- 38:25Speaker 2: be around her kids when she's not working, so her
- 38:28Speaker 2: time is limited, just like millions of Americans listening time
- 38:33Speaker 2: is limited, especially in the toddler to infant stages.
- 38:38Speaker 4: It of life.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Let's celebrate that instead of criticizing, because here's the one thing.
- 38:47Speaker 2: If we're in an interview and they're like, who do
- 38:49Speaker 2: you hang out with, They're like, Oh, I hang out
- 38:51Speaker 2: with Ashley every day. Her and I have the best
- 38:54Speaker 2: shopping sprees, We do the best bow rides.
- 38:58Speaker 4: We live that luxurious lifestyle.
- 39:01Speaker 2: As a friend of Ashley, I would call her up
- 39:03Speaker 2: and say, check yourself, kid, go home.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Go home, like be at home.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I know it's maybe not the most luxurious, but it's
- 39:14Speaker 2: the best thing for the people that you've brought into
- 39:16Speaker 2: this world, and it's the best thing for you.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, there's definitely a fine balance. I mean,
- 39:21Speaker 3: that's how you hang out with your friends. You like, Hey,
- 39:24Speaker 3: do you want to go see this cartoon in the
- 39:25Speaker 3: movie theater? We can hang out a little bit and
- 39:27Speaker 3: then we can have our kids watch the movie. I know.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Joe Ellen is very kind and she understands because she
- 39:32Speaker 3: has little kids too, when she reaches out and says, like,
- 39:35Speaker 3: we could go to a park or something, and that's
- 39:37Speaker 3: not even just in the show, that's in real life.
- 39:38Speaker 3: So it's kind of just like understanding the season of
- 39:40Speaker 3: life that she's in and just like kind of being
- 39:42Speaker 3: aware of that and not taking it personally. Not everything
- 39:45Speaker 3: is about you.
- 39:47Speaker 2: And it's a level of empathy that I think I
- 39:49Speaker 2: would love to watch on this show would be a
- 39:52Speaker 2: level of empathy to the situations of life everybody are
- 39:56Speaker 2: in and also realizing that and I, Kelsey, you've made
- 40:00Speaker 2: decisions that have put you in the place in life
- 40:03Speaker 2: you're at.
- 40:03Speaker 4: That's fine, those are the decisions you have made.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I'm not going to criticize you for the decisions you've
- 40:10Speaker 2: made to get you here. However, the only moment I'll
- 40:14Speaker 2: stand up for a friend or one of these other
- 40:16Speaker 2: people is when you start to become critical of the
- 40:19Speaker 2: life decisions they've made that are different than yours.
- 40:22Speaker 4: And that's what's happening here.
- 40:24Speaker 3: That's exactly that's the issue here. I don't know. I
- 40:28Speaker 3: don't know Kelsey personally. We could get along famously, but
- 40:31Speaker 3: what we are seeing is this that she is judging
- 40:34Speaker 3: everyone else and not and kind of like taking the
- 40:37Speaker 3: spotlight away from her and her relationship and the fact
- 40:42Speaker 3: that she doesn't know what a principal payment is or
- 40:44Speaker 3: how to pay for health insurance and everything and these
- 40:46Speaker 3: do you think she's admitting herself like yeah, like this
- 40:49Speaker 3: is fair game? Here like she is not her.
- 40:52Speaker 4: It's about to get hard.
- 40:53Speaker 3: The world's about to get hard, and she's pushing and
- 40:56Speaker 3: yelling at other people. I think maybe that's what we're
- 40:58Speaker 3: seeing here. I like Kelsey, but everything she's coming out
- 41:02Speaker 3: is making it seem like her. She don't stink when
- 41:04Speaker 3: it probably stinks real bad.
- 41:07Speaker 2: The question I have and maybe that this is actually
- 41:12Speaker 2: just the easiest target right She's the biggest name that's
- 41:15Speaker 2: on the show right now. She has the easiest accessibility
- 41:20Speaker 2: to make a headline with any thing she does or
- 41:23Speaker 2: anything somebody says about her. So as a result, is
- 41:26Speaker 2: there any strategicy here to just pick on Ashley? Because
- 41:30Speaker 2: you know that people will listen when you pick on Ashley?
- 41:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean it gets you in this in
- 41:36Speaker 3: it'll get picked up by more places if you mentioned
- 41:39Speaker 3: her name. It's just not fair to it's just not
- 41:42Speaker 3: fair to bring her up. She's not doing anything to you.
- 41:45Speaker 3: There's nothing personal. I think people really enjoy Lizen Kelsey
- 41:50Speaker 3: now and they're becoming bigger names because they're such personalities
- 41:53Speaker 3: on the show. And I think they're realizing that they
- 41:56Speaker 3: have a lot of power now too, and they feel
- 42:00Speaker 3: like they can say anything now, even if it's just, oh,
- 42:04Speaker 3: Ashley isn't the biggest personality, which apparently makes her worse
- 42:08Speaker 3: than everyone else. That's kind of what they're getting at, Like, oh,
- 42:11Speaker 3: she doesn't talk as much, which means we're better. That's
- 42:14Speaker 3: what we're seeing here. Come out this week with like
- 42:16Speaker 3: podcasts and interviews and stuff. And it's hard to watch
- 42:19Speaker 3: because she's not doing anything to you. So just like,
- 42:21Speaker 3: leave her alone, get out of each other.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Surreal Housewives of Rhode Island right in your face.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Hey, we do see the preview for upcoming episodes. We
- 42:31Speaker 2: see the women at parties, Ashley and Rula crying. We
- 42:36Speaker 2: see more about Kelsey's boyfriend. This is I think Billy, Yeah,
- 42:41Speaker 2: who's talking about how tough life has been with her
- 42:45Speaker 2: a part of his life for the last ten years.
- 42:48Speaker 2: I don't know how long it's been. We also see
- 42:50Speaker 2: Ashley getting fired up a little bit. It looks like
- 42:53Speaker 2: at Audrey's yelling everybody just to stop screaming and stop
- 42:58Speaker 2: fighting and stop arguing.
- 43:01Speaker 3: She doesn't want to have a lovely time, you know,
- 43:03Speaker 3: like she is out of the house with adults drinking wine.
- 43:06Speaker 3: She wants to just have a lovely time and every
- 43:08Speaker 3: time she's filmling with them. It's not that.
- 43:10Speaker 2: So it could be a reason why she also doesn't
- 43:13Speaker 2: say yes any invites to hang out because she's like,
- 43:15Speaker 2: why would I say yes to some free time if
- 43:18Speaker 2: I know what I'm getting myself into, which is just
- 43:20Speaker 2: a bunch of us yelling at each other.
- 43:22Speaker 3: That's it. Yeah. Oh and that one guy on from
- 43:27Speaker 3: page six was like you'd think she'd be calling you
- 43:29Speaker 3: guys to come to comment. It was just dumb. Just
- 43:33Speaker 3: don't even address it because it was.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Just no, you can address it. But like I thought,
- 43:37Speaker 2: that was just a very weird comment for him to
- 43:40Speaker 2: make given the moment, in the circumstance.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Yes, it didn't even track doesn't make sense.
- 43:44Speaker 4: What was he trying to get?
- 43:45Speaker 3: She's the biggest name already and we already know this,
- 43:49Speaker 3: and so you would think what having reaching out like
- 43:52Speaker 3: please come save my coffee shop was stupid?
- 43:56Speaker 4: Yes, and it's outrageous. It was.
- 43:59Speaker 2: I don't know what he was trying to get at
- 44:01Speaker 2: or point to. No, it wasn't even even on Kelsey side.
- 44:06Speaker 2: It's like it was just a.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Dig at Ashley for absolutely no reason about a failing
- 44:10Speaker 3: coffee shop. And it's not even failing.
- 44:12Speaker 4: No, it's not it's doing great. Let's close with this, Lauren.
- 44:16Speaker 2: We do see a hint for a future episode where
- 44:20Speaker 2: Rula is in the room. She looks absolutely defeated and
- 44:24Speaker 2: she's saying Brian was arrested for tracking her. The women
- 44:28Speaker 2: are kind of responding with what are you going to do?
- 44:32Speaker 2: But this is like a big that's a big story.
- 44:35Speaker 3: I'm very much looking forward to that.
- 44:37Speaker 4: Is it illegal for me to track my wife?
- 44:39Speaker 2: I've never I'm not doing it, Just to be clear,
- 44:42Speaker 2: that's but I didn't know if that's illegal.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Ho I track my husband, so it's okay, but I
- 44:46Speaker 3: track him with Life three sixty, Fine Friends all that.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess I did. She did make like, have
- 44:51Speaker 2: me sign up for Fine Friends, and she asked me
- 44:53Speaker 2: to track her.
- 44:54Speaker 3: I have to accept it. So yeah, I like, I
- 44:58Speaker 3: love tracking in relationship. It just makes it easier. It's like, Hey,
- 45:01Speaker 3: when you're gonna be home, I don't have to ask,
- 45:02Speaker 3: I see where you are. But yeah, it was definitely
- 45:05Speaker 3: an illegal tracking. He put a tracking device on her car.
- 45:08Speaker 3: I think I'm looking forward to that because it's already
- 45:11Speaker 3: a dumpster fire of a relationship. So we can kind
- 45:14Speaker 3: of just watch that go. This is all alleged.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Yeah, so he allegedly put a tracking device on her
- 45:20Speaker 2: car without her knowing, which I'm assuming is the illegal
- 45:23Speaker 2: part of this and why he was arrested for it.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Yeah, he didn't. She didn't consent to be tracked.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Okay, that makes sense to me.
- 45:31Speaker 3: My theory of why he did it is, I guess
- 45:34Speaker 3: to see when she was going to be home or
- 45:36Speaker 3: where she was going to be so he could be
- 45:38Speaker 3: out with his mistress. I don't think he didn't trust rule.
- 45:41Speaker 3: I think he wanted to see how much time he
- 45:42Speaker 3: would have with his mistress.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Oh that's a theory and a half, Lauren, I didn't
- 45:47Speaker 2: think of it that way. Goodness, gracious, well all this
- 45:51Speaker 2: is yet to come in the season ahead. Yes, this
- 45:54Speaker 2: week was not my favorite episode.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Full episode.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it fell toxic and unhealthy and weird and hard
- 46:03Speaker 2: for me to watch because there was no comfort or
- 46:06Speaker 2: support for the traumas that were being communicated, and then
- 46:10Speaker 2: also no understanding for everybody involved in the room to
- 46:15Speaker 2: actually get to know each other better.
- 46:17Speaker 4: So this just felt almost dirty and heavy.
- 46:21Speaker 2: I am ready to get back to polo matches and
- 46:24Speaker 2: bus parties and drinking and talking about life.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely, I.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Think the rest of the season will be great. Not
- 46:33Speaker 2: discounting it, just this was not for me personally.
- 46:37Speaker 3: I agree. Yeah, I want more fun episodes. I hope
- 46:41Speaker 3: we don't have any more snarky interviews coming out this week,
- 46:44Speaker 3: but I have a feeling we may see some maybe
- 46:47Speaker 3: on Vile Files.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Oh goodness, I'm sure now as the season continues to
- 46:54Speaker 2: become more and more popular. In fact, I think they're
- 46:58Speaker 2: nominated for Critics Choice. The cast and then first the
- 47:03Speaker 2: whole show itself. What an incredible few weeks Real Housewives
- 47:08Speaker 2: of Rhode Island has had so first critical as I
- 47:11Speaker 2: was about this episode, they must be doing something right.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Yep. The ladies are loving it. It's funny to see
- 47:17Speaker 3: all like the positive feedback, because as Ash was filming,
- 47:20Speaker 3: she was like, I don't know what they're going to
- 47:22Speaker 3: do with this. I don't know, and it's look what's cut,
- 47:25Speaker 3: Look what's happened. Critics' Choice Yep.
- 47:29Speaker 4: It's blowing up.
- 47:30Speaker 2: It's blowing up, just like we are here at the
- 47:32Speaker 2: Almost Famous Podcast. We'll be back next week breaking down
- 47:36Speaker 2: episode seven of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island. This week,
- 47:40Speaker 2: we have breakdowns of farmer wants a Wife headlines. We're
- 47:45Speaker 2: still covering the court hearings with Taylor Frankie Paul if
- 47:49Speaker 2: they actually happen or not, but we'll be giving you
- 47:52Speaker 2: all the info.
- 47:54Speaker 4: It's going to be a packed week here on.
- 47:56Speaker 2: The Almost Famous Podcast, but we're excited to talk with
- 47:59Speaker 2: you about it.
- 48:00Speaker 4: So until next time, I've been Ben, I've been Lauren,
- 48:03Speaker 4: we'll talk to you soon.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Follow the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcasts on
