- 1:04Speaker 1: was on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok by searching hear I'm
- 1:06Speaker 1: here GM Sports Network Bernick butt Away and Austin brought
- 1:10Speaker 1: elap prospects here to.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Try to make sense of that one tonight.
- 1:15Speaker 1: The Sabers at a three two lead in this game, Austin,
- 1:17Speaker 1: they end up falling down and the.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Have score was a four unanswered goals.
- 1:23Speaker 1: We're gonna obviously try to get through the game stats
- 1:25Speaker 1: and the scoring summary tonight, and we'll hear from head
- 1:27Speaker 1: coach Lindy Rough. But after a game like that, it's
- 1:30Speaker 1: hard to talk about the statistics more so than just
- 1:33Speaker 1: you know, the overall effort after what was a very
- 1:35Speaker 1: good bounce back game five or game four, excuse me.
- 1:38Speaker 1: And now the Canadians have obviously answered here with a
- 1:41Speaker 1: bounce back of their own.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you know, going over things in terms
- 1:47Speaker 3: of like stats and things like that, that's just I guess,
- 1:49Speaker 3: something that's got to be done. But it's not really
- 1:51Speaker 3: what's important today. It's three major storylines that have been
- 1:55Speaker 3: happening all series just continue to point the Sabers in
- 1:58Speaker 3: the tail and that's literally what bit them again today.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Undisciplined not getting saves, whether you want to pin it
- 2:06Speaker 3: purely on the goalie playing bat or not, just straight
- 2:08Speaker 3: up not getting saves the other team is the coach
- 2:12Speaker 3: just is not good enough right now. And your superstars
- 2:15Speaker 3: are not only not helping you, they're actively hurting you.
- 2:20Speaker 3: And we've said it all. You know, playoffs long, you
- 2:23Speaker 3: can get away with that. Against the Boston Bruins, you
- 2:25Speaker 3: can't get away with that.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Against the Montreal Canadians and you just you can't.
- 2:29Speaker 3: They're making you pay for it, as they should, because
- 2:32Speaker 3: that's how good this team is, and you're just handing
- 2:35Speaker 3: them opportunity after opportunity, and that's what happened tonight. You
- 2:39Speaker 3: couldn't capitalize to get that too goal lead the second
- 2:42Speaker 3: Montreal tied this game, it was over. Montreal does not
- 2:46Speaker 3: make those mistakes. Montreal does not bungle those opportunities. The
- 2:49Speaker 3: Sabers bungled opportunity after opportunity, and they've done so all
- 2:52Speaker 3: series long.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, we saw Lucan and get the start again,
- 2:57Speaker 1: which has sort of been Lindy riding the hot hand
- 3:00Speaker 1: right when when Lion you know, got pulled and then
- 3:03Speaker 1: Lucanan came in and again it's worked. It worked well
- 3:07Speaker 1: in Game four, but then you come back home tonight
- 3:09Speaker 1: and I know the Sabers have been a better road
- 3:10Speaker 1: team this season in general than a home team, but
- 3:15Speaker 1: in this playoffs, but you know, just an effort like
- 3:17Speaker 1: that on home ice, you have an opportunity to really,
- 3:20Speaker 1: you know, bury the Canadians, I feel like in that
- 3:21Speaker 1: first period, and they just didn't take take advantage of it,
- 3:24Speaker 1: didn't capitalize on it. They let Montreal hang around, hang around,
- 3:27Speaker 1: and they didn't capitalize on a few, you know, really
- 3:29Speaker 1: good opportunities that could have broken the game open, and
- 3:32Speaker 1: instead Montreal was able to rattle off, you know, four
- 3:35Speaker 1: unanswered goals from the second in the third period. Buffalo
- 3:38Speaker 1: didn't score after the first of what is that eleven
- 3:40Speaker 1: minutes of the first.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, the biggest difference, particularly between the two
- 3:45Speaker 3: starters today, I'll focus on them because this game was
- 3:49Speaker 3: over by the time Lion went in the net. But
- 3:51Speaker 3: the biggest difference between the two starters is just Dobis
- 3:55Speaker 3: had a shot to be rattled early, didn't get rattled.
- 3:57Speaker 3: He got better as the game went on. Lucanan crumbled,
- 4:02Speaker 3: and that's kind of been the theme for Lucan in
- 4:05Speaker 3: all playoffs long. He was really good down the stretch
- 4:07Speaker 3: in the regular season. I'm not crucifying him as a goalie,
- 4:10Speaker 3: but the proof is in the putting these playoffs. It's
- 4:14Speaker 3: his mental toughness has not been good enough. And this game,
- 4:20Speaker 3: again three leads and not every goal was on him. Obviously,
- 4:24Speaker 3: I think for the most part of the first two
- 4:26Speaker 3: I'm not going to blame on him at all. But
- 4:28Speaker 3: that the last two goals that he gave up, I
- 4:32Speaker 3: think are just prime examples of you need a save
- 4:36Speaker 3: and Montreal after the three goals that Buffalo scored, Montreal
- 4:40Speaker 3: got saved all night long.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah, And I mean it looked like they had a
- 4:44Speaker 1: game plan against Doul which they were going low on
- 4:46Speaker 1: them all three goals. They scored three goals in the
- 4:48Speaker 1: first four shots.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Of the game.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Buffalo did right, and you thought, okay, like you even
- 4:52Speaker 1: saw Saint Louis if you're watching the sports Net broadcast,
- 4:55Speaker 1: they showed Saint Louis on the bench looked to his
- 4:57Speaker 1: assistant coach after that to maybe signal, you know, should
- 5:00Speaker 1: we take Dobish out of here? And then you know,
- 5:02Speaker 1: put Jacob Fowler, a really young goaltender in a really
- 5:04Speaker 1: tough position.
- 5:06Speaker 2: You know, good on Saint.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Louis for staying with Dobish and he was able to
- 5:09Speaker 1: obviously respond and he didn't give up another goal after that,
- 5:11Speaker 1: and that just you know, proves that Montreal sort of
- 5:13Speaker 1: has the advantage right now in that department.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and that goes to my other point that I
- 5:18Speaker 3: made just nothing necessarily bad on Lindy Rough, but he's
- 5:23Speaker 3: getting out coached, playing and simple. That is a decision
- 5:25Speaker 3: that Martine Saint Louis made and paid off dividends, and
- 5:30Speaker 3: he's made countless decisions in the series that have been
- 5:33Speaker 3: very beneficial to his team and not saying when the
- 5:36Speaker 3: rough is actively hurting the Sabers with his decisions, but
- 5:40Speaker 3: Saint Luis just seems to have his number in terms
- 5:42Speaker 3: of coaching, matchup adjustments and things like that. Like in
- 5:45Speaker 3: a game like today, was probably the time to blend
- 5:50Speaker 3: some things up after this game sort of kind of
- 5:52Speaker 3: got out of hand and we didn't really see that
- 5:54Speaker 3: happen until later in the in the game. This is
- 5:57Speaker 3: a series where your top line has been futrid all
- 6:00Speaker 3: series long, and they've stayed together all series long. And
- 6:04Speaker 3: you know, I said on Twitter, as like the middle
- 6:07Speaker 3: six cannot do anymore. Maybe the Jack Quinn line could
- 6:10Speaker 3: have actually converted on a couple of their chances. I know,
- 6:12Speaker 3: Zucker scored, but like and Jolenias scored, but like Quinn
- 6:14Speaker 3: had a number of chances. Maybe he could have converted
- 6:17Speaker 3: on one. But you can't ask that line or the
- 6:19Speaker 3: bens And line to really do any more yet, your
- 6:22Speaker 3: two three highest paid forwards because as well. As good
- 6:25Speaker 3: as the Bens and line has been, Norris isn't really
- 6:27Speaker 3: doing anything. Your three highest paid forwards are.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Nowhere, and that is the biggest difference between the two teams.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Suzuki, Awfield, Slefkoski and Hudson are all actively contributing. The
- 6:41Speaker 3: Sabers depths stepped up. The Saber stars have done nothing.
- 6:43Speaker 3: And if your stars are doing nothing, you have you
- 6:46Speaker 3: have no shot. You've scored first in four out of
- 6:49Speaker 3: five games.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And Gus are getting hot too at the right time,
- 6:54Speaker 1: right like Demidov and Coffield, they're finally starting to get
- 6:56Speaker 1: on the score sheet.
- 6:57Speaker 3: So they've been they've been dangerous as you can't say
- 7:01Speaker 3: the same for the Sabers.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I think Tuck and Thompson are now a combined minus
- 7:05Speaker 1: seventeen in this series.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm talking about in terms of coaching adjustments,
- 7:10Speaker 3: that the coaches refuses to break them up, and that's
- 7:13Speaker 3: baffling to me.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I was happy that Helenius got in again.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Obviously, it was nice to see him score after we
- 7:19Speaker 1: talked about the other night where he had two, you know,
- 7:22Speaker 1: really good opportunities, and we talked about how good of
- 7:24Speaker 1: a playoff debut he had. You know, were you okay
- 7:28Speaker 1: with the way the lineup was constructed, or you would
- 7:30Speaker 1: you have moved some stuff around, or even like in
- 7:32Speaker 1: game adjustments as you mentioned, like after tape after things
- 7:35Speaker 1: weren't working there, Like would you have switched something up
- 7:37Speaker 1: in the middle of the game.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you absolutely switched something up in the middle of
- 7:41Speaker 3: the game. The line up at the start of the
- 7:42Speaker 3: game is fine. You can't really expect much changes to
- 7:45Speaker 3: happen when you won and looked really well, really good.
- 7:49Speaker 3: But even then it's been to Benton and Dowan pairing.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Norris hasn't put anything up on the score sheet, but
- 7:54Speaker 3: he's also not actively hurting the team. But also he
- 7:59Speaker 3: makes almost eight million dollars. You would need him to
- 8:01Speaker 3: start contributing, but just watching how bad Tuck and Thompson look,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and Crebs is kind of catching heat here because he's
- 8:09Speaker 3: on that line and they're not doing anything. He's also
- 8:12Speaker 3: not contributing either, but I feel like he's being Never
- 8:15Speaker 3: thought i'd say this, but I feel like Crebs is
- 8:16Speaker 3: being completely weighed down by Tuck and Thompson, and that's
- 8:20Speaker 3: not a good thing. The fourth line is the fourth line.
- 8:23Speaker 3: They chip in every now and then. They were actually
- 8:25Speaker 3: I thought pretty solid tonight too, But it's also kind
- 8:28Speaker 3: of unfair to expect the fourth line to score regularly.
- 8:32Speaker 3: So I mean, it just comes down to Montreal's big
- 8:36Speaker 3: guys are firing, Buffaloes aren't, and yak Abdobish is playing
- 8:40Speaker 3: relatively well solid at times, and Buffalo's goaltending, whether they're
- 8:46Speaker 3: fully to blame or not, they've given up five plus
- 8:49Speaker 3: goals and every loss.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry about that.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I was just getting the list stream up for the
- 8:54Speaker 1: post game from Lindy to come here shortly. But yeah,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I mean, with what we've what we saw in the
- 9:00Speaker 1: Boston series, obviously Tuck led the team in points. Thompson
- 9:03Speaker 1: had the two goals, but we talked about, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 1: we praised him for the amount of other aspects of
- 9:09Speaker 1: his game that he was doing well, right, Like, he
- 9:11Speaker 1: had only scored the two goals in the first game
- 9:13Speaker 1: against Boston, but he was doing a lot of other
- 9:15Speaker 1: things to create offense to help the team. But it
- 9:18Speaker 1: feels like in this series, for whatever reason other than
- 9:20Speaker 1: that lucky you know, rim around the boards off the
- 9:23Speaker 1: Zamboni entrance stanchion or whatever you want to call it
- 9:26Speaker 1: and pass Dobis for the luckiest power play goal of
- 9:29Speaker 1: all time. You know, Thompson takes undisciplined penalty tonight to
- 9:33Speaker 1: Dolleen took a penalty as well, and again, like I
- 9:36Speaker 1: just I discipline, going back to what you talked about
- 9:39Speaker 1: in the open. Your best players have to be your
- 9:41Speaker 1: best players, and they're not leading by example right now
- 9:43Speaker 1: in that department.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not even that they're not playing like their
- 9:48Speaker 3: best players, they're actively hurting the team. Like those are
- 9:51Speaker 3: just two costly penalties, and Montreal scored on both the
- 9:54Speaker 3: power plays, and then on the flip side, Buffalo couldn't
- 9:57Speaker 3: do couldn't convert on their power plays. So like it's
- 10:00Speaker 3: just every single matchup, every single aspect of this series
- 10:05Speaker 3: that we said that Buffalo needs to kind of tighten
- 10:07Speaker 3: things up on, they have not. They've actively like the
- 10:10Speaker 3: power play has been better this series overall, but again
- 10:13Speaker 3: in a big game like tonight, you needed it early
- 10:15Speaker 3: in this game and nothing, and then Montreal gets a
- 10:19Speaker 3: power play and they convert immediately. Terrible goal to give
- 10:23Speaker 3: up by Yukupeca Lukenan, but they converted on the power
- 10:25Speaker 3: play and that ended the game essentially, because that power
- 10:29Speaker 3: play go wi put them up five to three. This
- 10:31Speaker 3: game down down four to three going into the third period.
- 10:34Speaker 3: You don't feel like this game's over. But the second
- 10:36Speaker 3: that power play goal is, it goes in to two
- 10:39Speaker 3: goal lead. You're not coming back on a two goal
- 10:42Speaker 3: lead on this team because even though Buffalo dominated the
- 10:45Speaker 3: third period, Montreal's defense, their ability to clear out the
- 10:48Speaker 3: front of the net, and Dovish has just got more
- 10:51Speaker 3: confident as the game went along and it was over.
- 10:53Speaker 4: It was it was too late.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Late penalty, late goal for Montreal. You know, that was
- 10:58Speaker 1: the backbreaker for Buffalo. Once again, let's quickly, let's quickly
- 11:01Speaker 1: go through this. The game stats tonight brought to you
- 11:03Speaker 1: by Janel Flooring. If think of a better deal anywhere
- 11:05Speaker 1: else you don't know Jack, check him out a Janel
- 11:07Speaker 1: Flooring dot com or visit or Nago falls ocase you
- 11:09Speaker 1: bed your quality flooring project today. Again, we're not gonna,
- 11:13Speaker 1: you know, spend a lot of time on this after
- 11:14Speaker 1: what we just witnessed tonight. As you mentioned, Buffalo at
- 11:18Speaker 1: shot Montreal twenty to three in the third, but they're
- 11:20Speaker 1: down three goals at that point for the game, it's
- 11:23Speaker 1: thirty six twenty six in favor of Buffalo. Face off
- 11:26Speaker 1: percentage Montreal gets back after a bad game for them,
- 11:30Speaker 1: specifically fifty five point nine to forty four point one
- 11:33Speaker 1: in Buffalo. For Buffalo. Montreal goes two for two on
- 11:36Speaker 1: the powerplay. They had one shot, one goal in the
- 11:38Speaker 1: power play at one point. Buffalo goes zero for two
- 11:40Speaker 1: on the man advantage. They The Montreal Canadians had a
- 11:44Speaker 1: lot more block shots tonight. That was another thing that
- 11:46Speaker 1: swayed in Montreal's favor tonight, twenty five to eleven block shots.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Buffalo had eleven giveaways and four takeaways. I know you
- 11:53Speaker 1: probably don't want to mention anything about that tonight.
- 11:56Speaker 4: No, I mean, it doesn't matter. I did.
- 12:00Speaker 3: The stats of that matter are your boneheaded leadership group
- 12:03Speaker 3: is playing like boneheads. Your coach is getting his absolute
- 12:06Speaker 3: lunch money taken away from him by Martin Saint Louis
- 12:08Speaker 3: and your goalie. I'm not gonna sit here and say
- 12:11Speaker 3: I agreed to it's the decision to keep ryding Lucanan,
- 12:13Speaker 3: because that's kind of what you've been doing. But he clearly,
- 12:17Speaker 3: so clearly early on, did not have it. And that's
- 12:20Speaker 3: been Lucanan's mo the entire playoffs, aside from the first
- 12:23Speaker 3: game the second it went downhill with him, it went downhill.
- 12:28Speaker 3: He I thought he kind of erased some of those
- 12:30Speaker 3: demons by getting a big win in Montreal, but you.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Could see it tonight.
- 12:33Speaker 3: He's just shaky, not confident, and there's just there's not
- 12:39Speaker 3: only no way it's obviously lying in Game six, but
- 12:41Speaker 3: I don't think there's anything you can do that would
- 12:44Speaker 3: convince me that now lucanan should ever get a shot
- 12:46Speaker 3: back at the mat.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I don't care how bad Lion plays.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Like, if you win game six, and you win Game seven, obviously,
- 12:52Speaker 3: and you go to the Eastern Conference Finals, somehow it
- 12:54Speaker 3: should just be Lyon's that the rest of the way.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Not that I'm against the rotation or anything like that,
- 12:58Speaker 3: but I'm against what I've seen from lucan in and
- 13:00Speaker 3: that's just he is not a confident guy, and I
- 13:03Speaker 3: don't know how he's ever going to get that back,
- 13:06Speaker 3: especially in the middle of this playoff run. Not that
- 13:09Speaker 3: starting line would have been the biggest difference in the world.
- 13:11Speaker 3: I guess we don't know. I can't say it wouldn't
- 13:13Speaker 3: have made a difference, because it very well could have,
- 13:16Speaker 3: But Today was like the first time out of one
- 13:20Speaker 3: of these losses in this series where I was more
- 13:24Speaker 3: upset with the goaltending than the rest of the team,
- 13:26Speaker 3: because you had three leads in the first period, and
- 13:30Speaker 3: every time you got a lead, they tied it up
- 13:33Speaker 3: almost instantly, right until the three to three goal, where
- 13:37Speaker 3: took them a little bit longer. But the second it
- 13:38Speaker 3: was three to three, it Montreal took over that game.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And what did we say about Lucanan in the last game.
- 13:44Speaker 1: You know, Montreal had a good first and then Lucanan
- 13:47Speaker 1: had to come up with some big saves early in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the second period to be able to get them that victory. Tonight,
- 13:51Speaker 1: it just felt like anytime they needed a timely save
- 13:55Speaker 1: after obviously taking out the first eleven minutes, because we
- 13:58Speaker 1: know Dobish was really shaky in the eleven minutes, but
- 14:01Speaker 1: I felt like after that he came up with big
- 14:03Speaker 1: saves when he needed to. Obviously didn't give up another
- 14:05Speaker 1: goal the rest of the game, but it felt like
- 14:07Speaker 1: every time Montreal had an opportunity and Lucan needed to
- 14:10Speaker 1: come up with a big save to keep Buffalo the
- 14:12Speaker 1: momentum or try to change the momentum in their way.
- 14:14Speaker 2: They just didn't get it in those.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Final whatever you want to call it forty you know
- 14:19Speaker 1: what a sixty minute games, so forty nine minutes.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean there were some really big saves by
- 14:25Speaker 3: Lucanan and like you know that one on Demidov comes
- 14:28Speaker 3: to mind, like he made some he made some big saves,
- 14:31Speaker 3: but it's not the big saves, it's the goals that
- 14:34Speaker 3: he gave up were just backbreaking, and that to me
- 14:38Speaker 3: outweighs any time we saved that he might have made
- 14:40Speaker 3: while he was in there for that second period, because
- 14:44Speaker 3: the fourth and fifth goals.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Just can't go in, just can't.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Like the fourth goal, you absolutely cannot have the puck
- 14:51Speaker 3: just get behind you on that angle and let Montreal
- 14:55Speaker 3: bang it in. The fifth goal, I know it was
- 14:58Speaker 3: a quick pass up to the slot, but goal just
- 15:00Speaker 3: can't beat you. Like I know it's a power play
- 15:02Speaker 3: and it was nice puck movement to Suzuki there and
- 15:04Speaker 3: in the face off circle, but just can't beat you.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Not at that time.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I know, your assistant captain put you in a really
- 15:10Speaker 3: bad spot by taking another dumb cross jacking penalty, but
- 15:13Speaker 3: that is when you need your goalie to step up
- 15:15Speaker 3: and he did it, and that kind of doesn't matter.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I mean, don't get me wrong. The power play goal
- 15:21Speaker 4: that line gave up.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Obviously, one goal and three shots isn't great, but at
- 15:24Speaker 3: that point you're down, You're down to one salts.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Power play is lethal. Demidov had been clicking all night.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Kind of hard to blame it on that, but you
- 15:32Speaker 3: maybe had a chance of coming back down to But
- 15:35Speaker 3: I don't know it.
- 15:37Speaker 4: We said it.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Earlier in the in the show, if your best players
- 15:39Speaker 3: aren't playing like your best players, if your coach isn't
- 15:41Speaker 3: making the right adjustments, and if your goaltender isn't making
- 15:44Speaker 3: saves and giving up soft goals, you're not gonna win.
- 15:49Speaker 4: The three goals in.
- 15:50Speaker 3: The first period were Zucker, Helenius and Don't that's your
- 15:54Speaker 3: middle six, you know who dug Montreal out of the
- 15:57Speaker 3: hole in the first period. It was their depth as well,
- 16:01Speaker 3: but they also got contributions from the superstars. That's the
- 16:04Speaker 3: biggest difference in tonight's game. This goalie made saves, Montreal's
- 16:07Speaker 3: big guys score goals.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Well, we're not going to go over the whole thing,
- 16:12Speaker 1: but the scoring summary Tonight's brought to you by the
- 16:14Speaker 1: Nagar Demployment Health Center helping people find work in the
- 16:16Speaker 1: Nagara regions since nineteen eighty three.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Check up.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Throw to the job board at EHC dot Owen dot seed.
- 16:19Speaker 1: If on your next work opportunity today you mentioned Buffalo's
- 16:22Speaker 1: three goals. In the first they scored two minutes in.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Jason Zucker on that point shot or with traffic from
- 16:28Speaker 1: Jack Quinn hits off. Zucker hits off, Matheson, goes past
- 16:32Speaker 1: Dobich to give Buffalo an early lead. Kawfield then evens
- 16:35Speaker 1: the game up there with Luken and kind of sprambling around.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Josh Done then gives the Sabers the two to one
- 16:41Speaker 1: lead with a nice give and go with Owen power
- 16:44Speaker 1: and he goes low once again on Dovis. Both shots
- 16:46Speaker 1: low two goals on three shots to open up on
- 16:48Speaker 1: the goaltender there. And then it was Texaia on the
- 16:51Speaker 1: next shift, as they were still announced. They hadn't eventarted
- 16:53Speaker 1: announcing the second Buffalo goal yet. Carrie takes a point
- 16:56Speaker 1: shot Texaday's battling with a Sabers defender in front, and
- 17:00Speaker 1: of course it hits. It was going wide anyway, but
- 17:01Speaker 1: it hits off them, goes past Lucanan and all of
- 17:04Speaker 1: a sudden the games tied it two Costa Helenius gets
- 17:07Speaker 1: the goal there, which was nice to see. Kind of
- 17:09Speaker 1: surprising Dobis you made like a little nice stutter step
- 17:12Speaker 1: there in the slot and maybe fool them went five hole.
- 17:14Speaker 1: The Sabers have three goals on four shots on Dobish.
- 17:17Speaker 1: At that point you're thinking, wow, like this is this
- 17:19Speaker 1: is a dream star for Buffalo in the first ten
- 17:21Speaker 1: or so minutes. But they had the three to two
- 17:23Speaker 1: lead after the first period. But then that's when things
- 17:26Speaker 1: sort of turned and we saw the four unanswered goals
- 17:30Speaker 1: by Montreal. I don't know if there's any specific ones
- 17:32Speaker 1: you want to touch on or go over there.
- 17:35Speaker 4: No, I've already talked about the goals that need to
- 17:37Speaker 4: be talked about.
- 17:38Speaker 3: It's much more productive, I think in Cathartic to talk
- 17:43Speaker 3: about the Sabers and what they can do, if anything,
- 17:48Speaker 3: to bounce back from this, because whether you know, whether
- 17:51Speaker 3: people want to hear it or not, the series is
- 17:53Speaker 3: not over. You have, you know, you got to win
- 17:55Speaker 3: into in a row. You got to go beat Montreal
- 17:57Speaker 3: on a Saturday night at Montreal, which is never easy.
- 17:59Speaker 3: But there was good to take from the Savers tonight,
- 18:04Speaker 3: but the bad. I think if the bad doesn't change,
- 18:06Speaker 3: this will be over in six and not only will
- 18:09Speaker 3: be over in six.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I think Montreal will beat the brakes off the Savers
- 18:12Speaker 4: if the big guys don't figure something out.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I will say for me, I think the biggest turning
- 18:19Speaker 1: point in the game. Austin and again, we don't really
- 18:22Speaker 1: talk a lot during the game. Full disclosure for those listening,
- 18:24Speaker 1: like Austin and I don't talk a lot during the
- 18:26Speaker 1: game because we want to sort of just get our
- 18:29Speaker 1: reactions to each other live on the show. Here, I
- 18:31Speaker 1: think the biggest turning point in the game was Thompson
- 18:34Speaker 1: not scoring on that breakaway early in the second period.
- 18:36Speaker 2: You're up three to two. Dobich comes up with the
- 18:39Speaker 2: big save early on.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I think Hudson got mixed up on a line change
- 18:42Speaker 1: or something and Thompson winning all alone. And I don't
- 18:45Speaker 1: know if Dobich got that with his left pad or
- 18:47Speaker 1: his glove, but right there, your superstar has an opportunity
- 18:50Speaker 1: to put you up by two early in the second period,
- 18:53Speaker 1: with the Montreal goaltender really struggling, and you give him
- 18:56Speaker 1: an opportunity to make a save there, and obviously the
- 18:59Speaker 1: game turns from there. But to me, like that was
- 19:01Speaker 1: the pinpoint right there. If the Sabers were going to
- 19:03Speaker 1: win the game, they were going to win it right there.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 3: No, that's that's a pretty big turning point as well.
- 19:10Speaker 3: You need your forty one goal scorer to score on
- 19:13Speaker 3: a breakaway, just plain and simple. I think the turning
- 19:18Speaker 3: point is obviously hindsight p in twenty twenty. The turning
- 19:21Speaker 3: point is something that happened extremely early in the game,
- 19:23Speaker 3: and that's Martanne Saint Louis making the choice to stick
- 19:25Speaker 3: with the Akamdobis and having confidence in his guy. Because
- 19:29Speaker 3: it could have been very easy to pull the trigger
- 19:30Speaker 3: three goals on four shots, he chose not to, and
- 19:34Speaker 3: he was rewarded for that decision.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Let me ask you this, do you think if it's
- 19:37Speaker 1: a veteran goalie on the bench and not a young
- 19:39Speaker 1: goalie and Jacob Fowler, he would would have made that call.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Depends how veteran.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I mean, if we're talking Montreal's depth chart, I don't
- 19:49Speaker 3: even think it mattered if it was Fowler or mont Tambal.
- 19:52Speaker 3: I don't think there was any way Sant Louis was
- 19:53Speaker 3: making that decision right there. I don't know if it
- 19:57Speaker 3: had anything necessarily to do with Fowler. It was more
- 20:01Speaker 3: Saint Louis has a pretty solid feel for the pulse
- 20:04Speaker 3: of this series and the pulse of this game, and
- 20:06Speaker 3: he knew he was He knew that this game was
- 20:09Speaker 3: not over. It was only three two. He knew that Dobish,
- 20:13Speaker 3: much like Lukenan in Game four, was gonna have a
- 20:16Speaker 3: chance to rebound, and he trusted his guy to rebound,
- 20:19Speaker 3: and he did, like in a big way, whether it
- 20:21Speaker 3: was that breakaway save, whether it was blanking the Sabers
- 20:24Speaker 3: power play in the second period, whether it was, you know,
- 20:27Speaker 3: a couple of key saves here and there. He sat
- 20:32Speaker 3: Louis was rewarded for trusting his guys. And I know
- 20:35Speaker 3: that's kind of a easy cop out because Ruff has
- 20:37Speaker 3: been trusting his guys and necessarily hasn't been rewarded. But
- 20:41Speaker 3: to me, it just it goes to Saint Louis has
- 20:44Speaker 3: more of a finger on the pulse of this series.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Than when you Rough does.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Right now, that's not the biggest reason why the Sabers
- 20:49Speaker 3: are behind. It's not the reason the Sabers are down
- 20:51Speaker 3: three two. The biggest reason.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Is the players just aren't showing up for Buffalo that
- 20:54Speaker 4: needs to show up.
- 20:56Speaker 3: But I thought that was a pretty big moment and
- 21:00Speaker 3: that kind of leads to the turning point that you
- 21:01Speaker 3: had because if Dobi if vulers in the nettage, I
- 21:04Speaker 3: think Page probably converts that breakaway.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I think you're right too, like a very tough situation
- 21:08Speaker 1: for a young goalie. We talked about last game that
- 21:11Speaker 1: you know, age doesn't really matter. If it's like with Helenius,
- 21:14Speaker 1: you put him in the lineup or Helenoose. I guess
- 21:16Speaker 1: we're going by now. You know you put him in
- 21:18Speaker 1: the lineup despite not having playoff experience. Shen got in
- 21:22Speaker 1: the lineup again. I guess we should mention that Stanley
- 21:24Speaker 1: was left out again. They put kessel Ring in full
- 21:27Speaker 1: equipment and put him out for the warm up. I
- 21:28Speaker 1: don't know if that was supposed to throw somebody off,
- 21:30Speaker 1: but regardless, Shen got in the game again. Did you
- 21:33Speaker 1: were you okay with that decision or would you have
- 21:36Speaker 1: looked to see something else?
- 21:38Speaker 3: No, I didn't have any issue with Shen tonight. I
- 21:40Speaker 3: think Connord Timmins was putrid awful. As much praise as
- 21:44Speaker 3: we've given him these playoffs. He's another guy I think
- 21:47Speaker 3: deserves a ton of blame for the reason that this
- 21:49Speaker 3: game happened the way that it happened. First goal turnover
- 21:52Speaker 3: cannot happen. That's a benchable offense. Even the back door
- 21:58Speaker 3: goal I believe it have been would have been coffields.
- 22:04Speaker 3: I believe he just stood there in no man's land.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Helenius tied up the guy in the crease and Timmins
- 22:12Speaker 3: decided to try and get to the back door. It
- 22:13Speaker 3: was too late and couldn't get there. He just he
- 22:17Speaker 3: for as good as and steady as he had been
- 22:19Speaker 3: through most of the games, he was awful. I think
- 22:22Speaker 3: he was on the ice for four les against in
- 22:24Speaker 3: twelve minutes of ice time, if he even got twelve
- 22:27Speaker 3: minutes of ice time, So I think you know he
- 22:30Speaker 3: had maintenance stake because he was banged up. So maybe
- 22:33Speaker 3: the excuse there is he wasn't feeling himself. But dear God,
- 22:37Speaker 3: if that performance isn't good enough to get him benched,
- 22:40Speaker 3: it goes back to I don't know what Lindy Ruff
- 22:42Speaker 3: is doing this series, because any other guy who plays
- 22:45Speaker 3: the way Timmins plays.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Should be stapled to the bench.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Timmins got ten to fifty six tonight, Shen got eight
- 22:53Speaker 1: oh one. Everybody else played over twenty minutes tonight, the
- 22:56Speaker 1: top four of Byron, Samison, Power and Doling.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't even know if you want twenty
- 23:02Speaker 3: six and four playing that much with the way they've
- 23:04Speaker 3: been this series, because again, just.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Not good enough.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I know Zucker was criticized a lot after Game three
- 23:12Speaker 1: where he played under seven minutes.
- 23:14Speaker 2: He's looked better.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Than I don't think it was Zuker that was criticized.
- 23:17Speaker 3: I think it was Rough that was criticized, and rightfully
- 23:19Speaker 3: so right because we just assumed Zucker was hurt and
- 23:24Speaker 3: that's clearly not the case because the last two games
- 23:25Speaker 3: he's been playing regularly.
- 23:27Speaker 2: He blamed it on the penalty kill being out there
- 23:29Speaker 2: a lot.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a nice, easy content. Jane L.

- 28:06Speaker 1: following his team's six' three loss on home ice through
- 28:10Speaker 1: The Montreal. Canadians now on the brink of elimination period.
- 28:13Speaker 4: In the second period became what it.
- 28:15Speaker 8: BECAME i actually thought the start of the second period
- 28:19Speaker 8: was pretty. Good you, Know thompson had to in a
- 28:24Speaker 8: loan to make the score for, two and THEN i
- 28:27Speaker 8: thought they had a pretty good push there for seven
- 28:31Speaker 8: or eight minutes where we didn't execute as well as
- 28:33Speaker 8: we needed to. EXECUTE i thought some of our puck
- 28:36Speaker 8: play was we're missing passes and you know we were
- 28:40Speaker 8: going north in a hurly and hurry early.
- 28:43Speaker 4: In the, game.
- 28:45Speaker 8: And then the second period we just sloaded.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Down what does this team have to do to Counter
- 28:51Speaker 5: montreal speed, shifting as and playmaking in game six to
- 28:55Speaker 5: force A game?
- 28:56Speaker 4: Seven, Well i'll just.
- 28:59Speaker 8: Say this The we've won four out of five games
- 29:02Speaker 8: on the road in real tough. Buildings we've played, Fast
- 29:08Speaker 8: we've played, Hard WE'VE i mean again, tonight the start
- 29:11Speaker 8: of the game was the start we. Wanted they got
- 29:15Speaker 8: a little bit of a break when the puck the
- 29:17Speaker 8: went off the skate on the. Backside you have to
- 29:20Speaker 8: fight through. BREAKS i thought early in the second we
- 29:25Speaker 8: could have probably pushed, them pushed them back a little,
- 29:28Speaker 8: further and we had a couple opportunities to make them,
- 29:31Speaker 8: pay and we. Didn't and when we made a couple
- 29:34Speaker 8: of our, mistakes they made us.
- 29:36Speaker 9: Pay, wendy what is your level of concern at this
- 29:41Speaker 9: point With Alex tuck no points in this series and
- 29:43Speaker 9: what does he have to do offensively to become a
- 29:46Speaker 9: factor like we saw in the last.
- 29:47Speaker 8: Series you, KNOW i think you get in a series
- 29:52Speaker 8: like this and and you're struggling a little.
- 29:55Speaker 4: BIT i think he's.
- 29:56Speaker 8: Lost just a little bit of confidence that trying a
- 29:59Speaker 8: little bit too hard make make that extra. PLAY i
- 30:03Speaker 8: think number one is the biggest thing is you got
- 30:06Speaker 8: to move your. Feet always move your. Feet get your feet,
- 30:08Speaker 8: moving whether it's through the neutra, zone whether it's you're
- 30:12Speaker 8: challenging at the blue line and that that line just
- 30:16Speaker 8: hasn't been quite. CONNECTED i think it all comes down,
- 30:19Speaker 8: to you, know skating on bucks and the offensive. Zone
- 30:21Speaker 8: if you want to go.
- 30:24Speaker 4: To a couple of.
- 30:24Speaker 8: Games that they're In boston in the first period the game,
- 30:27Speaker 8: six how well they moved inside the. Zone feet have
- 30:31Speaker 8: to get.
- 30:32Speaker 4: Moving you decided to put.
- 30:37Speaker 9: McCloud i'm, helen he's up.
- 30:39Speaker 8: There you were trying different things with that top. Line
- 30:41Speaker 8: have you considered kind of Separating thompson And tuck just
- 30:44Speaker 8: to try to get get those two guys.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Going, well we did for a couple of.
- 30:49Speaker 8: SHIFTS i don't know if you if you, noticed you,
- 30:52Speaker 8: know we Had clouder down with With tucky and THEN
- 30:57Speaker 8: i Put Crabs greenway. Together and and when the game
- 31:02Speaker 8: gets where you need a couple of, goals you got
- 31:04Speaker 8: to put your best players. Together they gotta.
- 31:06Speaker 4: Play hard to play four.
- 31:09Speaker 8: Lines when you're down because you gotta you gotta believe
- 31:12Speaker 8: in your top guys and they got to get it
- 31:13Speaker 8: done for.
- 31:14Speaker 1: You, okay there Was sabers head Coach Lindy ruff on
- 31:18Speaker 1: The Wild Bills auto repair post game as. Always video
- 31:20Speaker 1: courtesy of x Dot, Com Slash Buffalo SABERS msg and
- 31:23Speaker 1: The National Hockey League. Austin, YEAH i mean he said
- 31:27Speaker 1: he Moved krebs or excuse, Me thompson And tuck away
- 31:30Speaker 1: for a few. Shifts, uh but, uh what were your
- 31:33Speaker 1: thoughts on What lindy said?
- 31:34Speaker 4: Tonight too, little too?
- 31:37Speaker 3: LATE i mean that line has done nothing all serious and,
- 31:43Speaker 3: Yo tuck has lost his. Confidence, yeah no, Shit, Lindy
- 31:46Speaker 3: like sorry for my language, there but like, duh he's
- 31:50Speaker 3: him And tage have literally been, awful awful and that's
- 31:53Speaker 3: coming from you, know Like i'm. Not this is not
- 31:56Speaker 3: my overall opinion on these guys going forward As Buffalo.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Sabers but Dear, God Alex tuck to start contrast between

- 32:15Speaker 3: hell DO i want any part of that. Cage you
- 32:18Speaker 3: want to be in number one, center.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Show, Up just show, up, dude because you didn't show up.
- 32:26Speaker 1: TODAY i look at like LIKE i look at the
- 32:32Speaker 1: top three players for each, team Right, like let's, say
- 32:35Speaker 1: let's just Put, Suzuki, cawfield And hudson up Against, Thompson
- 32:41Speaker 1: tuck And dollan's production in this. Series you, know you
- 32:44Speaker 1: look at What Lane hudson's been. Doing you look at
- 32:46Speaker 1: What Cole cawfield has now got on the score. Shot
- 32:49Speaker 1: you Saw sazuki with a big power play goal, tonight
- 32:51Speaker 1: winning key, faceoffs and The sabers best players are just
- 32:54Speaker 1: not their best players right, now and as you, said
- 32:56Speaker 1: they're actively hurting them with bad penalties And Alex stuck
- 33:00Speaker 1: being in a contract. YEAR i know he loves and
- 33:02Speaker 1: Loves Buffalo on, obviously but if he's gonna want upwards
- 33:05Speaker 1: of ten eleven million dollars for an eight year, contract
- 33:07Speaker 1: as you, MENTIONED i want no part of.
- 33:09Speaker 2: That after what we've seen in this. Series, yeah he
- 33:13Speaker 2: just is.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Proving that he doesn't. Like this is a foreshadow of
- 33:21Speaker 3: what he's going to look. Like in two three, years
- 33:25Speaker 3: maybe even, Sooner like he's not a guy you can
- 33:29Speaker 3: commit to for eight years when no offense to these.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Guys their best players are the twenty four year old,
- 33:35Speaker 3: down twenty one year Old, benson twenty one year old
- 33:38Speaker 3: twenty year old hell It is And oacetland when he
- 33:40Speaker 3: was in in The boston series was also very. Good
- 33:43Speaker 3: like the youth and the speed is what is making
- 33:47Speaker 3: an impact on this.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Series The benson's work ethic has talked about a.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Lot what doesn't get talked about is how skilled he actually,
- 33:54Speaker 3: is because he's more than just a hard. Worker but
- 33:58Speaker 3: just look at the start contrast between and how those
- 34:01Speaker 3: Even Jack, quinn who you, know get credit for being
- 34:06Speaker 3: having buzz and flying around out. There eventually you need
- 34:10Speaker 3: to start producing in order to actually truly get. Credit
- 34:12Speaker 3: but he just feels like he's snake bit right. Now
- 34:14Speaker 3: but you just look at the way that those two
- 34:15Speaker 3: middle lines play compared to the way that the top line,
- 34:18Speaker 3: plays and it's just not only are those middle six
- 34:21Speaker 3: guys out Working montreal when they're on the, ice but
- 34:25Speaker 3: they're playing. Well it doesn't even feel Like Tage crabs
- 34:27Speaker 3: and talk, AGAIN i feel like crebs is getting bumped
- 34:29Speaker 3: in there because he has to. Be it's more So
- 34:31Speaker 3: tuck And thompson just don't have the. Juice whether that's health,
- 34:36Speaker 3: RELATED i don't. Care you're in the, lineup you're making
- 34:39Speaker 3: a lot of. Money battle through, it Like, dolleen whatever
- 34:43Speaker 3: is happening to you right now that's made you lose your.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Screws in the series Against, montreal figure it.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Out byron went from looking like a true Actual Stanley
- 34:53Speaker 3: cup run style defenseman TO i don't know what.
- 34:55Speaker 4: The heck has happened to.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Him it's very easy to see Why montreal is, winning
- 34:59Speaker 3: and it's not because.
- 35:02Speaker 4: They're just straight up.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Better it's because they're big guys have risen to the,
- 35:06Speaker 3: moment whereas The sabers big guys have. Crumbled the depth is,
- 35:10Speaker 3: equal if not probably In buffalo's favor because The benson
- 35:13Speaker 3: And domeline and Now helen uth line have been very
- 35:16Speaker 3: good for two. Games but it's It's, Coffield, Suzukis lefkowski
- 35:20Speaker 3: And hudson that's the difference right. Now and those guys
- 35:22Speaker 3: are very. GOOD i, know you Know buffalo can match.
- 35:25Speaker 3: That just those guys aren't On buffalo aren't doing absolutely.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Nothing what are your thoughts.
- 35:31Speaker 1: On just like we saw The shenanigans in the first
- 35:34Speaker 1: couple of games of the, series it hasn't been as
- 35:36Speaker 1: much as of. Late we saw a little bit more
- 35:37Speaker 1: When buffalo is down by two or.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Three but, yeah that's a. Loser it's just being a.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Loser it's just being a. Loser if you're The buffalo,
- 35:43Speaker 3: Savers i'm, sorry that's that's being a. Baby and just straight,
- 35:48Speaker 3: up you know you've got your teeth kicked, in so
- 35:50Speaker 3: you're acting out that stuff at the end of the.
- 35:53Speaker 4: GAME i hated every second of.
- 35:55Speaker 2: That where was?
- 35:55Speaker 3: That don't get me, wrong the end of the, game the,
- 35:58Speaker 3: scrums nor is doing what he did to mathieson all that.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Stuff just that's the loser. Attitude you got your teeth kicked.
- 36:06Speaker 3: In actually you didn't because you actually Outplayed montreal, tonight
- 36:09Speaker 3: but like scoreboard, wise you got your teeth kicked. In man,
- 36:12Speaker 3: up save the shenanigans for, later because you know, what
- 36:18Speaker 3: the shenanigans have meant nothing on this. Series The shenanigans
- 36:21Speaker 3: have only shown up in the games That buffalo has,
- 36:23Speaker 3: lost and that's because you've been blown out in every.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Loss just playing, it simple play yours game and you
- 36:30Speaker 3: will be. Fine play the way you played In game
- 36:32Speaker 3: one and In game, four and you won't have to
- 36:34Speaker 3: worry about. Shenanigans the best thing that happens is When
- 36:39Speaker 3: dobson and all these people try to do stuff to
- 36:41Speaker 3: guys like crabs and you just sit there and look
- 36:42Speaker 3: at him and don't let anything. Happen that's when you
- 36:45Speaker 3: get the edge Over. Montreal when you buy into, this
- 36:48Speaker 3: they know they're in your, head and when you have
- 36:51Speaker 3: the mental advantage taken away from, you you have no,
- 36:53Speaker 3: shot especially in an equally matched series like, This because
- 36:56Speaker 3: it doesn't look like it on the. Scoreboard these two
- 36:58Speaker 3: teams are a lot closer than what the scoreboard has
- 37:00Speaker 3: indicated in this, round.
- 37:02Speaker 4: At least in my.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Opinion, yeah AND i, mean you, Know buffalo had a
- 37:06Speaker 1: lot of pressure in that third, period But montreal pretty
- 37:09Speaker 1: much went into Prevent at that, point you're.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Down they scored the early, goal and it's a three goal. Game.
- 37:15Speaker 4: See, yeah it was the equivalent Of game one When buffalo.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Had the two and Then buffalo pulled the goalie with
- 37:19Speaker 1: what was that six twenty nine left down by.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Three, YEAH i thought that WAS.
- 37:23Speaker 4: I gotta do something.
- 37:24Speaker 2: INTERESTING i, yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 4: You gotta do. SOMETHING i, GUESS i don't.
- 37:27Speaker 1: KNOW i hate that we have a sponsor and For
- 37:31Speaker 1: knight's like, this but we have to do it. Anyway
- 37:33Speaker 1: the feature, player or excuse, me our player of the,
- 37:36Speaker 1: game brought to you by The Nagradentric clinic creating natural
- 37:38Speaker 1: smiles in The naga region for over twenty five. Years
- 37:41Speaker 1: i'm gonna, Say, helen that's just because he scored AND
- 37:43Speaker 1: i thought he looked.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Decent, Yeah i'll Go, benson because, again as this game
- 37:50Speaker 3: could have been so much, different you could have talked
- 37:52Speaker 3: about how That benson Don Norris lyon Had Dlayne hudson
- 37:57Speaker 3: pair and a, blender because there were just times When
- 37:59Speaker 3: benson it was just dominant with his ability to create
- 38:03Speaker 3: space in the offensive, zone the ability to get his own,
- 38:05Speaker 3: entries the ability to take pucks, away and things like.
- 38:07Speaker 3: That he is stepping up and rising to the. Moment
- 38:11Speaker 3: don't is stepping up and rising to the. Moment and
- 38:14Speaker 3: instead of talking about how these young guys could have
- 38:17Speaker 3: carried The sabers to a huge game.
- 38:18Speaker 4: Five, win we have to talk about how the.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Players you expect to Be buffalo's contributors continue to just
- 38:26Speaker 3: make bone, headed dumb plays that not only do nothing
- 38:32Speaker 3: to help, you actively hurt, you cost you the. Series
- 38:35Speaker 3: and now your back is against the. Wall it's time
- 38:37Speaker 3: to really put up and see what you're made, of because.
- 38:42Speaker 4: You're going into.
- 38:42Speaker 3: A hostile environment on A saturday night In montreal with
- 38:45Speaker 3: a chance for The habs to go to the conference,
- 38:47Speaker 3: final and if you show up the way you showed
- 38:51Speaker 3: up tonight again mostly the big Guys i'm talking about,
- 38:53Speaker 3: here it's not even going to be.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Close so to kind of wrap up here because obviously
- 39:00Speaker 1: there's Not we're just gonna beat a dead horse here
- 39:02Speaker 1: for you, know as long as we can. Here what would?
- 39:05Speaker 1: Be are you gonna make lineup changes for the next?
- 39:07Speaker 1: Game do you want to see anybody? In do you
- 39:08Speaker 1: want to see anybody? Out do you want to see
- 39:10Speaker 1: things like guys moved up or down the? Lineup like
- 39:12Speaker 1: what if you're making the lineup card For lindy in
- 39:14Speaker 1: game six On saturday?
- 39:15Speaker 2: Night what are you doing?
- 39:16Speaker 4: HERE i probably Put stanley And metsa in as your third.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Over timmins And. Shen there's just.
- 39:27Speaker 4: No way you can Put Connor timmins in the lineup
- 39:28Speaker 4: after the way he played. Today there's just not if
- 39:30Speaker 4: you are a respectable, coach you just you. Can't he was.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Awful he was just.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Putrid and he's not good enough to have a putrid
- 39:38Speaker 3: game and stay in the lineup as much As i'm
- 39:40Speaker 3: talking about To dolly and And. Tages, unfortunately like those, guys
- 39:43Speaker 3: you have to work through, it you have to figure it.
- 39:45Speaker 3: OUT a guy Like Connor, TIMMINS i don't care about
- 39:47Speaker 3: the penalty. Kill the penalty kill was over to. Tonight
- 39:50Speaker 3: as good as it was last, game it was equally
- 39:51Speaker 3: as bad this. Game AND i know there's only two,
- 39:53Speaker 3: chances but you were zero percent like. It and if
- 39:58Speaker 3: that's all he's good, for and then up, front it's
- 40:02Speaker 3: not going to. Happen But kozak Or karrik in For,
- 40:05Speaker 3: greenway but it's it's not gonna. Happen not That greenway
- 40:10Speaker 3: was even, Bad but the problem With greenway is he's
- 40:12Speaker 3: now all of a sudden become the number one forward
- 40:14Speaker 3: on the penalty kill for The, sabers AND i just
- 40:16Speaker 3: against this power play.
- 40:17Speaker 4: Unit as big as he, is he's too. Slow and
- 40:19Speaker 4: that's not.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Saying he's just a complete like he's not saying he's
- 40:22Speaker 3: bad it's just that this is a terrible matchup for
- 40:25Speaker 3: a guy Like. Greenway on the penalty. Kill the four
- 40:27Speaker 3: LINE i think has relatively been okay because they've been
- 40:29Speaker 3: able to kind of just hold the puck and do
- 40:31Speaker 3: things like. That but on the penalty kill he's become
- 40:33Speaker 3: like the most important, forward AND i don't understand, why
- 40:36Speaker 3: because it's not like he's any good at. It so
- 40:38Speaker 3: IDEALLY i would like to see again match the Speed
- 40:41Speaker 3: kozak in for For greenway would be an ideal. Move
- 40:45Speaker 3: not That greenway is being, punished BUT i think you
- 40:47Speaker 3: need to match the hab, speed And kozak does, That
- 40:50Speaker 3: greenway does, Not SO i switch up that third, pair
- 40:53Speaker 3: give him that's a real. Shot stanley goes back in and,
- 40:57Speaker 3: yeah try try to inject some more speed into the offensive,
- 41:00Speaker 3: lineup but realistically it'll just be shuffling.
- 41:02Speaker 4: That top line around.
- 41:04Speaker 3: SOMEHOW i don't exactly know what that looks like or
- 41:05Speaker 3: what he will, do but maybe it's breaking Up benson
- 41:10Speaker 3: And don't as awesome if they have been, together they
- 41:12Speaker 3: are playing so. Well trust them to each handle their
- 41:15Speaker 3: own line at this point and then Keep i'd keep
- 41:18Speaker 3: The Zucker Helenius quinn line together because for two GAMES
- 41:20Speaker 3: i thought they've been really.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Good would you drop Like, Thompson Tuck krebs as like
- 41:24Speaker 2: the third.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Line, No, no that's not a.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Line that's not a there's no way that can be a.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Line there's just Not thompson And tuck cannot be.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Together they just.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Can't, yeah like you, Know i'm looking at it right,
- 41:37Speaker 1: Now like with the possibilities. THERE i, know we Know
- 41:39Speaker 1: austlin's not, available but you've Got kozak And.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Kerrick those are two.
- 41:44Speaker 1: CENTERS i, mean one of, them you, know realistically could
- 41:46Speaker 1: play the wing if you really wanted, to just to
- 41:47Speaker 1: have a matchup based if somebody gets kicked out of the.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Circle you want to see McCloud get moved, Up LIKE
- 41:53Speaker 1: i don't, know because mcloud's the best.
- 41:55Speaker 4: Team but, no LIKE i, SAID i you can't unless
- 42:01Speaker 4: you're gonna throw.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Mcleoud you think it's matchup base two, obviously depending on
- 42:06Speaker 1: what line they're oute there.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Against, yeah, well unfortunately you've lost the ability to match.
- 42:10Speaker 4: Up you don't have last change.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Anymore, yeah it's real, game.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Man this is the type of stuff That i'm talking
- 42:15Speaker 3: about Where i'm not actively trying to crap On Lindi.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Rough he's a really good, coach But San louis working
- 42:21Speaker 3: him in this.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Series he's responded every, time.
- 42:25Speaker 3: AND i Give rough credit for The helenius in putting
- 42:30Speaker 3: him in. There that was a, big, big big lineup
- 42:32Speaker 3: adjustment for him and it worked. Out but every time you've,
- 42:35Speaker 3: Won montreal has responded And montreal really didn't even do
- 42:39Speaker 3: anything different, Tonight But Sant louis is just those little tiny,
- 42:43Speaker 3: moments whether it was even in that, game like that
- 42:46Speaker 3: challenge was a big moment For. Montreal it ended up
- 42:50Speaker 3: not thankfully it didn't hurt The sabers in the result
- 42:52Speaker 3: of the, game but that's a big moment for.
- 42:53Speaker 4: Them ended up Being montreal getting the.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Lead, today Trusting dobish to stay in end, up you,
- 43:00Speaker 3: know not, immediately but you end up taking the, lead
- 43:03Speaker 3: and just there's there's no panic for The habs When
- 43:07Speaker 3: buffalo gets a, lead whereas it feels like in every
- 43:10Speaker 3: game When montreal has gotten the, lead except For game
- 43:12Speaker 3: four because we came, Back but except For game, four
- 43:15Speaker 3: it feels like every Time montreal has gotten a lead
- 43:17Speaker 3: in this, Series buffalo does not know how to push.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Back they would push back On boston when they were.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Down they are struggling to push back On, montreal and
- 43:24Speaker 3: that's That's monreal deserves a lot.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Of credit for. That they're, very very good hockey.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Team but that's when you need something LIKE i don't,
- 43:33Speaker 3: know like we'll, see BUT i would give real thought
- 43:39Speaker 3: to To metsa And stanley bumping into the third, pair
- 43:42Speaker 3: and then you got to split up that top line some.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Way my middle six face, Together SO i guess that
- 43:48Speaker 3: does technically mean you're moving mc.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Cloud UP i think the third, line.
- 43:55Speaker 4: And then who's playing on the top, Line.
- 43:57Speaker 2: QUINN i don't like the sounds of it.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Either i'm just trying to come up with something, like
- 44:04Speaker 1: Maybe don't gets moved, up because you, said if if
- 44:06Speaker 1: don'an And benson aren't going to play, together maybe Give
- 44:09Speaker 1: don't a look on the top line With.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Thompson that's.
- 44:13Speaker 3: That's where it gets a little, Bit. HARRY i think
- 44:15Speaker 3: you should Trust don't And benson to ply split up
- 44:17Speaker 3: as good as they have, been because they have obviously
- 44:19Speaker 3: been your best two players this entire.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Series BUT.
- 44:24Speaker 3: I honestly would, bump, like if you're not changing the hellennious,
- 44:27Speaker 3: line keep. It but if you are going to change.
- 44:29Speaker 3: IT i would Put hellennius at center With thompson And
- 44:33Speaker 3: crabs and Then.
- 44:34Speaker 4: Tuck, Yeah Tucky.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Thompson to the right.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Wing, YEAH i don't Think thompson can play center the
- 44:39Speaker 3: rest of the. SERIES i just he's not playing. Well
- 44:41Speaker 3: he doesn't look. Right ALTHOUGH i know today When helenia's
- 44:44Speaker 3: got a shift with, Him hellennius was on the. Wing
- 44:47Speaker 3: SO i guess, again we'll have to. See But ruff's
- 44:49Speaker 3: gonna have to make some some adjustments and find somehow
- 44:51Speaker 3: some way to Get thompson And tuck going because that's
- 44:54Speaker 3: the only.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Hope That buffalo has because defense de.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Wise they're not Being, yeah depth, wise they're not be.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Out this is not a depth issue for The. Sabers
- 45:02Speaker 3: this is a top line issue for The.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Sabers LIKE i think it was two or three, goals
- 45:06Speaker 1: The sabers just couldn't win a face off in their
- 45:08Speaker 1: defensive end and it.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Led, YEAH i mean there's there's nothing you can add
- 45:13Speaker 3: to this lineup that's going to fix.
- 45:15Speaker 7: That.
- 45:15Speaker 1: YEAH i, Mean kerck's not going to be playing twenty minutes,
- 45:17Speaker 1: tonight so you know it unless it's like three on
- 45:21Speaker 1: three overtime where you have the guy take the face
- 45:22Speaker 1: off and then get off the ice. Immediately, unfortunately when
- 45:25Speaker 1: in playoffs you don't have the three on three. Ability
- 45:27Speaker 1: BUT i don't, KNOW i just they got to change something.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Up but the problem, IS i feel, like and this
- 45:33Speaker 1: is probably the last Thing i'm going to, say is
- 45:35Speaker 1: that every time The canadians have had a bad game
- 45:38Speaker 1: or just hasn't gone their, way they had, responded responded
- 45:41Speaker 1: Like game one was really bad for, them they had
- 45:44Speaker 1: a Great game, two and even Good game, three they
- 45:47Speaker 1: had a really bad, well they didn't even have a
- 45:48Speaker 1: Bad game. FOUR i just feel like they had a
- 45:50Speaker 1: couple of bounces go wrong their way And buffalo had
- 45:52Speaker 1: the right opportunities at the. End and then they respond tonight,
- 45:55Speaker 1: LIKE i just don't know How you're not expecting a
- 45:57Speaker 1: pushback if You're buffalo and either of those two scenario
- 46:00Speaker 1: that you, know a team like that that's well coached
- 46:02Speaker 1: is not going to Push so if You're Lindy, ROUGH
- 46:05Speaker 1: i don't, know you have to figure out something quickly
- 46:07Speaker 1: or obviously you're going to be packing your bags After.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Saturday, yeah and, honestly this this here is not a
- 46:12Speaker 3: shot At, lindy because what else is he supposed to,
- 46:14Speaker 3: say BUT i also don't love. That his response, is,
- 46:16Speaker 3: well we play good on the. Road it's, like, yeah
- 46:19Speaker 3: but you know what else could help to play good at?
- 46:21Speaker 1: Home you have home ice advantage for a, reason like
- 46:25Speaker 1: going In, YEAH i don't. Know, yeah SO i mean six,
- 46:30Speaker 1: three it is what it. Is game Six saturday at
- 46:33Speaker 1: The Bell. Center and, again as as you, mentioned sort,
- 46:36Speaker 1: of the only positive thing you can say is that
- 46:38Speaker 1: The sabers have played well on the. Road they're four
- 46:40Speaker 1: and one in the, postseason and can they push it
- 46:42Speaker 1: to A game seven On? Monday i'll give you final,
- 46:45Speaker 1: thoughts Your. Austin are we here we won't be here
- 46:48Speaker 1: with us On, saturday but are we here doing a
- 46:50Speaker 1: game recap On monday possibly talking about A sabers series?
- 46:54Speaker 1: Victory or do you think it tonight was really you,
- 46:57Speaker 1: know the nail on the.
- 46:58Speaker 4: COFFIN i, mean it's not really fair to ask me
- 47:01Speaker 4: right now.
- 47:05Speaker 5: Like.
- 47:05Speaker 3: This this was your chance to take a stranglehold on the,
- 47:08Speaker 3: series and you've fumbled it. Spectacularly so it's very hard
- 47:13Speaker 3: to sit here and be like. Yeah that being, SAID
- 47:17Speaker 3: i would not be surprised If.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Buffalo Wins saturday and Forces game.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Seven, right but but then what Then you've got to
- 47:26Speaker 1: come back home?
- 47:27Speaker 2: Again.
- 47:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah it's just it's.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Not every every POSSIBLE x factor that we talked about
- 47:35Speaker 3: in this series preview has just Gone montreal's way and.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Predictably SO i think for the most.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Part but now we can no longer just talk ABOUT
- 47:45Speaker 3: i don't know this is, Again we're the season is
- 47:47Speaker 3: not over, yet SO i don't want to keep bringing
- 47:49Speaker 3: up stuff that's a longer. Term but kind of not
- 47:52Speaker 3: really surprising that yourmo keklin and tried to add a
- 47:58Speaker 3: number one center Like Robert thomas this, roster Because i'm
- 48:00Speaker 3: pretty sure he probably foresaw something like this. Happening JUST
- 48:07Speaker 3: i don't know that it's easy to, say Like i'm
- 48:10Speaker 3: blamed rough a lot in this, podcast AND i will
- 48:12Speaker 3: continue to say that he has not been good enough
- 48:14Speaker 3: as a head, Coach but it really just comes down
- 48:16Speaker 3: to seventy, two eighty nine and twenty. Six that's, it right.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Now That's that's the only reason we're sitting here pissed off.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Tonight it's the only reason we're sitting here pissed off
- 48:26Speaker 3: down three to, two is.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Just because those guys haven't been good.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Enough if you would have told me, that if we
- 48:30Speaker 3: would have said, That Consta helenus scored a, Goal Jason
- 48:35Speaker 3: zucker scored a goal, tonight and Then doan also scored
- 48:38Speaker 3: a goal, Tonight.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Chances are we feel pretty.
- 48:41Speaker 3: Good but the rest of the lineup did a, zero
- 48:46Speaker 3: and unfortunately Lucan. In it's so hard to say because
- 48:53Speaker 3: how can you not agree with the decision to start.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Him but maybe there is something to that stat that
- 48:58Speaker 3: was floating around that The sabers goalie who wins has
- 49:01Speaker 3: always had multiple days rests so far in these. PLAYOFFS
- 49:03Speaker 3: i don't, KNOW i DON'T i don't, know but it
- 49:07Speaker 3: feels like there's a chance that that was the end
- 49:09Speaker 3: Of Ukapeca luca and In buffalo and he went out
- 49:12Speaker 3: very very.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Poorly And ruff's a finalist for The Jack Adams, trophy,
- 49:16Speaker 1: right like you just kind of expect.
- 49:18Speaker 4: He's he's a very good head.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Coach but LIKE i did, SAY i did say the
- 49:23Speaker 3: start of this, series it's going to be very interesting
- 49:26Speaker 3: when you're going up against another very good head, coach
- 49:28Speaker 3: but another very good head coach that has an equal,
- 49:31Speaker 3: to if not slightly better. Lineup your talent was just
- 49:34Speaker 3: better Than. Boston it didn't matter who the heck was their,
- 49:36Speaker 3: coach it didn't matter what the heck was going. On
- 49:38Speaker 3: you were just a straight up better. Team in this
- 49:41Speaker 3: the teams are a lot. More Even San louis has
- 49:46Speaker 3: won the advantage.
- 49:46Speaker 4: In terms of.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Coaching, YEAH i, mean realistically and plainly, put The sabers
- 49:53Speaker 1: best players have to show up On, saturday and if they,
- 49:56Speaker 1: don't then we'll be talking about a summer or an
- 49:58Speaker 1: offseason Of Alex tugby re. Signed, well you're Mokiek line
- 50:02Speaker 1: and circle back around to That Robert thomas trade after
- 50:04Speaker 1: not wanting to do anything within that. Room you know who.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Knows but again that's. Premature there's still two more games to.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Go sabers could Win game, six go To game, seven who.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Knows but The Carolina hurricanes are resting up nicely for
- 50:16Speaker 1: and hoping this gate the series goes farther because they're
- 50:19Speaker 1: looking their chops right, now waiting to host The Eastern Conference.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Finals So austin, appreciated and uh, yeah hopefully we're back
