- 0:00Speaker 1: Jalene, I guess to start as what did you see
- 0:02Speaker 1: was the That's the big difference today in how the
- 0:05Speaker 1: game turned out.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Obviously, the first quarter forty three thirty five.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Just down.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Obviously not a good defensive quarter from us. Offensively, the
- 0:19Speaker 2: ball was going in but didn't get enough stops. They
- 0:25Speaker 2: came with energy and physicality and set the tone for
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game, and we responded obviously in the second quarter
- 0:34Speaker 2: was great and besides the last min and a half
- 0:38Speaker 2: and then just playing catch up from that point on.
- 0:42Speaker 4: U for either one of you, you guys spent all
- 0:43Speaker 4: season being a low turnover team. Seventeen tonight for twenty
- 0:47Speaker 4: points for them, it felt like a lot of them
- 0:50Speaker 4: were unforced just in the moment, did if did you
- 0:52Speaker 4: guys get the sense that just a little sloppy as
- 0:55Speaker 4: a group with the ball or was there something with
- 0:56Speaker 4: their defense that that sparked any of that?
- 1:00Speaker 2: I mean, a lot of them are stuff that we
- 1:02Speaker 2: can control as a team. We've just seen to tighten
- 1:06Speaker 2: the screws when it comes to that, you know, just
- 1:09Speaker 2: being aggressive. If there are aggressive turnovers, that'd be different.
- 1:12Speaker 2: But pass the turnovers is not.
- 1:15Speaker 5: Us, guys. For either one of you, Indiana consistently made
- 1:19Speaker 5: the extra pass tonight and converted. What are some of
- 1:22Speaker 5: the things that can be done to maybe eliminate some
- 1:24Speaker 5: of those backdoor cuts or some of the miscommunication we
- 1:27Speaker 5: saw in the first half.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I mean, obviously staying I don't want to, staying in
- 1:42Speaker 2: our coverage most and foremost, and making sure that we're
- 1:46Speaker 2: keeping one on the ball, keep keeping bodies on bodies,
- 1:51Speaker 2: do a better job of just not being in rotation.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And yeah, that's it.
- 2:00Speaker 6: Carl.
- 2:00Speaker 4: I know you were able to get back on the
- 2:02Speaker 4: floor after your knee was hurting. How how's it feeling now?
- 2:06Speaker 4: Do you think it's prevent you from playing?
- 2:09Speaker 3: I'm only thinking about the loss. I'm not thinking about
- 2:11Speaker 3: that right now. So, uh, you know, it's disappointing when
- 2:17Speaker 3: you don't get a win, you know, and we just
- 2:20Speaker 3: didn't do nothing to get the job done tonight.
- 2:23Speaker 7: Jillen, you guys have been so good with the backs
- 2:26Speaker 7: to the wall. Now it's elimination you're facing Thursday. Just
- 2:30Speaker 7: kind of what changes or what what has to change
- 2:34Speaker 7: as you come back out on Thursday at the garden.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, nothing else matters at this point.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I mean, you gotta give it your all's is that simple, Carl.
- 2:47Speaker 5: When you guys are enjoying such a decisive edge on
- 2:50Speaker 5: the glass, even in spite of the foul trouble, does
- 2:52Speaker 5: that reinforce to some degree your approach taking that into
- 2:56Speaker 5: Game number five?
- 2:59Speaker 3: Oh, I mean at the end of the day, really
- 3:02Speaker 3: just worried about getting to win. And uh, you know,
- 3:06Speaker 3: I think the playoffs have shown us. Uh sometimes statistically
- 3:10Speaker 3: you think you win these statistics and you win these categories,
- 3:13Speaker 3: and you're gonna win the game. And I think for
- 3:15Speaker 3: the whole entire playoffs, not just the series we've been
- 3:17Speaker 3: involved with. You know, it's just sometimes to the things
- 3:24Speaker 3: you that are always told to be the things that
- 3:27Speaker 3: will win you the game. You know, sometimes it just
- 3:29Speaker 3: comes down to we just winning the game. And uh,
- 3:33Speaker 3: sometimes it doesn't make sense when you do, when you
- 3:35Speaker 3: win the rebounding battle and all that stuff and you
- 3:37Speaker 3: still find a way to lose the game.
- 3:38Speaker 8: I mean, Uh, it's just there's little things that just
- 3:42Speaker 8: cost us and and there's little things that changed to
- 3:45Speaker 8: outcome of the game, and we just didn't find ourselves
- 3:48Speaker 8: on the right side of uh.
- 3:49Speaker 3: The game tonight. You know, you you say we did
- 3:52Speaker 3: a great job of rebounding. We also on the same s,
- 3:55Speaker 3: same turn, didn't do a good job with you know,
- 3:58Speaker 3: the ball and just all around. So that's just one
- 4:03Speaker 3: category of many categories. You know that you got to
- 4:05Speaker 3: win to win a game, and we just didn't do enough.
- 4:08Speaker 9: I know how easily this could be for either of you,
- 4:10Speaker 9: but I know how easily the series could be to
- 4:13Speaker 9: two And then said, you guys are in a three
- 4:15Speaker 9: to one hole. Is there something to be said for
- 4:18Speaker 9: the pace this team plays at? You guys were a
- 4:21Speaker 9: team that was pretty methodical throughout the regular season that
- 4:24Speaker 9: when you guys enjoyed these these comeback victories that you're
- 4:28Speaker 9: making play after play after play where you guys just
- 4:30Speaker 9: make the right reads and you're playing at your pace.
- 4:33Speaker 9: Is there because of the thought process of if we
- 4:37Speaker 9: turn it over that they they run at the pace
- 4:39Speaker 9: they do that just did the the rotations that they
- 4:44Speaker 9: make with their passes and stuff like that they force
- 4:46Speaker 9: you guys into that just the level of decision making
- 4:49Speaker 9: with the pace they play at, that makes them more
- 4:51Speaker 9: difficult to play against them.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Maybe other teams, I mean, I know this is a
- 4:57Speaker 2: copycat league, but uh, a lot of teams are different
- 5:00Speaker 2: identities and so obviously their identities playing fast, make or miss,
- 5:07Speaker 2: run the floor, and we just gotta follow our game, playing,
- 5:12Speaker 2: game planning, discipline, and we weren't disciplined tonight. I wasn't
- 5:16Speaker 2: disciplined tonight. Maybe just gotta be smarter. I gotta be smarter.
- 5:22Speaker 2: It's it's it's really that black and what.
- 5:25Speaker 3: We all gotta be better, you know, we all gotta
- 5:28Speaker 3: be better for him, with him, you know, we gotta
- 5:31Speaker 3: we gotta be better as a team. So it's unfortunately
- 5:34Speaker 3: we all, you know, couldn't find a way to win
- 5:38Speaker 3: tonight that we found a way in all the other
- 5:39Speaker 3: series to do it.
- 5:42Speaker 7: For either one of you guys. You guys seem to
- 5:44Speaker 7: find some defensively in Game three just seemed today from
- 5:48Speaker 7: the start forty three points in the first quarter, uh
- 5:51Speaker 7: band into the first half, early second half just kind
- 5:54Speaker 7: of what what went? What wasn't there defensively tonight?
- 5:58Speaker 3: We just we didn't match their uh their pace. I
- 6:03Speaker 3: know you want to say that, but desperation too, I think,
- 6:06Speaker 3: you know, we just we just didn't match what we
- 6:09Speaker 3: needed to do tonight to start the game. And it's
- 6:13Speaker 3: true fashion to our whole playoff run. You know, we
- 6:16Speaker 3: put ourselves in a deficit, we dug ourselves out the deficit,
- 6:20Speaker 3: and usually you feel good about us, you know, in
- 6:24Speaker 3: a close game going into the fourth quarter or you know,
- 6:28Speaker 3: showing that resilience. Uh, but I've said it m multiple
- 6:33Speaker 3: times to y'all. You know, you get burned putting yourself
- 6:35Speaker 3: in that position too many times. And tonight it was
- 6:37Speaker 3: one of those nights where we got burnt.
- 6:39Speaker 5: You know.
- 6:39Speaker 3: We we put ourselves again in the deficit. Y you
- 6:43Speaker 3: think that coming into the fourth quarter, we're gonna you know,
- 6:47Speaker 3: find that that one trick to get us to the end,
- 6:51Speaker 3: to to the end of the game would win and
- 6:53Speaker 3: and we just you know, we just didn't have that, uh,
- 6:56Speaker 3: that magic tonight.
- 6:58Speaker 4: How much does the adversity and the challenges you guys
- 7:01Speaker 4: have already been through so far this postseason serve you
- 7:04Speaker 4: help prepare you heading into back home to Madison Square.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Gard I mean, we we've we've we've been a team
- 7:11Speaker 3: that has kind of found a way to do the
- 7:16Speaker 3: impossible when it always seemed impossible. You know, we just
- 7:22Speaker 3: keep fighting. So it's gonna be a testament to our
- 7:25Speaker 3: whole playoff run, you know, And now we have to
- 7:28Speaker 3: be in one of the biggest fights of our lives
- 7:30Speaker 3: in the end of our season, and that starts with
- 7:33Speaker 3: the next game. So just taking a game by game,
- 7:37Speaker 3: don't look ahead, and just worry about the first quarter
- 7:40Speaker 3: of the next game and we'll deal with the rest later.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Did did you guys see him do anything different to
- 7:46Speaker 1: to get Halliburton in space or whatnot? Just the way
- 7:48Speaker 1: he was in attack mode, it seemed like maybe he
- 7:51Speaker 1: would he was a little more aggressive, just from your
- 7:52Speaker 1: vantage plaint what allowed him to have the score of night.
- 7:55Speaker 3: That he did.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he was playing the space. They all
- 8:01Speaker 2: do a good job of obviously creating space for each other,
- 8:05Speaker 2: and he was able to pick us spots and get
- 8:09Speaker 2: to what he's gonna do. And I mean, he's a
- 8:12Speaker 2: great player, as simple as that. And it's a it's
- 8:16Speaker 2: all nice to try and limit them as as we can.
- 8:17Speaker 2: And now it's just all nice to get back to
- 8:21Speaker 2: drawing board and drawing board and just get ready for
- 8:24Speaker 2: game five.
- 8:25Speaker 6: Jalen, they're they're throughout the series, not just today, but
- 8:28Speaker 6: throughout the series. They've been using your guy as a
- 8:31Speaker 6: screener for Aliburton a lot throughout the series. How do
- 8:34Speaker 6: you feel like you've done on those matchups, and and
- 8:36Speaker 6: what in particular do you feel like you could kind
- 8:38Speaker 6: of be doing to mock them up?
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 8:40Speaker 3: Uh, not good enough.
- 8:42Speaker 9: I mean.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I could sit here and be very detail oriented with
- 8:48Speaker 2: you by certain things, but obviously not good enough. So
- 8:54Speaker 2: there has to be difference on my part when it
- 8:55Speaker 2: comes to that. It's as simple as that, we all
- 9:00Speaker 2: got to be better for him. It's not just him,
- 9:02Speaker 2: it's all of us. I'm not going to start the
- 9:05Speaker 2: you know, he's cap of of course, he's gonna always speak.
- 9:09Speaker 3: With the highest regard. But as a team, we all
- 9:10Speaker 3: got to do better. It's not just him, it's all
- 9:13Speaker 3: of us. You know, we all got to do a
- 9:15Speaker 3: better job of making it difficult for each one of
- 9:19Speaker 3: them to score. And tonight we didn't do that as
- 9:22Speaker 3: a team, not just him, but as a team, we
- 9:25Speaker 3: all didn't do it. So, if you write anything right
- 9:28Speaker 3: about the team and about anybody else singularly,
