- 1:48Speaker 2: Member FDIC. Where should like this cohort of new people
- 1:54Speaker 2: who graduate or a studying now, where should they be focusing?
- 1:57Speaker 2: In terms of AI intelligence?
- 2:00Speaker 1: I would say to focus on a problem to solve,
- 2:05Speaker 1: versus focusing on the technology tool. Right. So find a
- 2:10Speaker 1: problem that someone's willing to pay to have solved, right,
- 2:13Speaker 1: think of it as a valuable problem. It's a lesson
- 2:15Speaker 1: I had to learn in grad school. In grad school,
- 2:17Speaker 1: we were solving these very hard, difficult problems, but they
- 2:19Speaker 1: were not necessarily valuable ones. They were not necessarily you know,
- 2:22Speaker 1: you're solving a theorem that's been sitting around for thirty years,
- 2:25Speaker 1: but no one necessarily wanted to pay you to solve
- 2:27Speaker 1: that there. Yeah, But if you go into a business
- 2:29Speaker 1: and an enterprise, like, Okay, what problems do you have
- 2:32Speaker 1: that I can solve that will be valuable to you,
- 2:35Speaker 1: And it's usually around helping a business increase revenue or
- 2:38Speaker 1: decrease expenses, right, and that way you're delivering an ROI.
- 2:43Speaker 1: You look at the work I do in technology, as
- 2:44Speaker 1: you mentioned, I've been doing it for a long time,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but I don't do a lot of work around consumer technology. Right.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It's a very big space, very important space, that's not
- 2:53Speaker 1: my specially. What I tend to understand is give me
- 2:56Speaker 1: a business and let me find a problem within that
- 2:59Speaker 1: business that I can write software to solve for them.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And I tend to think about that across three layers.
- 3:06Speaker 1: No matter what kind of business you are, a healthcare
- 3:07Speaker 1: business or a manufacturing business, there's three things that most
- 3:11Speaker 1: businesses have in common. One is they have a layer
- 3:15Speaker 1: of infrastructure. Right, you have data, you have compute, you
- 3:20Speaker 1: have networking, you have software. You have a layer of
- 3:24Speaker 1: it infrastructure. Then another thing that most businesses have in
- 3:27Speaker 1: come is. The next layer is finance or the money. Right,
- 3:32Speaker 1: the money has to move. You have to pay bills,
- 3:34Speaker 1: you have to get your account receivables, you have to
- 3:36Speaker 1: pay payroll, and so there's a layer of finance in
- 3:40Speaker 1: every business. And then lastly you have people, and you
- 3:43Speaker 1: need to care for and optimize your people. So you
- 3:45Speaker 1: have training, you have upskilling, you have health tech, healthcare,
- 3:49Speaker 1: and so I tend to spend my time looking at
- 3:51Speaker 1: those three layers within a business and finding problems to
- 3:54Speaker 1: solve and seeing how software is disrupting things within there.
- 3:58Speaker 1: So an IT structure, you know, this shift from cloud
- 4:02Speaker 1: to AI to agentic, I mean it is uncovering lots
- 4:06Speaker 1: of opportunities to go build companies to help businesses understand
- 4:09Speaker 1: that and manage that scale that secure that right. Cybersecurity
- 4:13Speaker 1: is the industry that's still hundreds of billions of dollars
- 4:16Speaker 1: and it's been around for twenty to thirty years. Right,
- 4:18Speaker 1: is the gift that keeps giving in many ways, because
- 4:21Speaker 1: every time there's a new platform, the cyber criminals will
- 4:25Speaker 1: spend their days and nights trying to figure out how
- 4:26Speaker 1: to break it, and so that creates lots of opportunities
- 4:28Speaker 1: to your point for the next generation of entrepreneurs. When
- 4:32Speaker 1: you look at finance, you know what's happening now, open banking,
- 4:37Speaker 1: the globalizations creating this need for cross border payments, there's
- 4:41Speaker 1: this need for embedded finance. You know, there's a saying
- 4:44Speaker 1: that every software company is ultimately a fintech. Every software
- 4:48Speaker 1: company needs to move money around, and so embedded finance
- 4:53Speaker 1: is a huge area that we spend time. And then lastly,
- 4:56Speaker 1: software around the people. As AI disrupts me things to decide, well,
- 5:01Speaker 1: how do you deal with your work force, how do
- 5:03Speaker 1: you upscale, how do you retrain, how do you deal
- 5:07Speaker 1: with health tech? I mean, we look at health care
- 5:09Speaker 1: in this country. It's a four trillion dollar industry and
- 5:15Speaker 1: there's lots of efficiencies and efficiencies there, right, and so
- 5:19Speaker 1: there's room for improvement around healthcare. And so I tend
- 5:23Speaker 1: to say, don't go focus first on the technology. Focus
- 5:26Speaker 1: on going to find a problem that you can solve.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Go find one customer, solve it for, and then another
- 5:31Speaker 1: and then another. And that's when you have a business.
- 5:33Speaker 1: That's when you start to have repeatable, recurrent revenue.
- 5:35Speaker 3: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 5:39Speaker 3: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 5:43Speaker 3: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 5:47Speaker 3: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 5:51Speaker 3: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 5:55Speaker 3: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christinem, the United States Secretary
- 5:59Speaker 3: of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border crossings
- 6:04Speaker 3: are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over one
- 6:07Speaker 3: hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you are
- 6:11Speaker 3: here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly one
- 6:15Speaker 3: thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will never return.
- 6:20Speaker 3: But if you register using our CBP home app and
- 6:23Speaker 3: leave now, you could be allowed to return legally. Do
- 6:26Speaker 3: what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws, border
- 6:31Speaker 3: and families will be protected.
