- 0:02Happy Tuesday morning, everybody.
- 0:07Hey, Can you believe yesterday it was Monday and I said happy
- 0:13Wednesday morning, everybody. I love it though, because all of
- 0:19you remind me that I said the wrong day.
- 0:26All right, everybody, today the subject matter is the next big
- 0:32three race car drivers, the next young talent coming.
- 0:37So here, here they are, and we're going to talk about them
- 0:40all. The next one is Corey Heim.
- 0:45Corey Heim really came to my attention when I talked to Denny
- 0:52Hamlin about Corey Heim, Jenny Hamlin said.
- 0:57Corey Heim is a really mature driver for his young age, but I
- 1:04think Corey Heim is 23 years old.
- 1:07It's kind of old. He better get racing.
- 1:11I'll tell you what, man, they start these kids so young.
- 1:15Now I'll go to some of these races out at Millbridge.
- 1:20Oh, Tony, Yuri, the you know the Yuri's, you know they crew chief
- 1:29Dale Junior. So so Tony's boy, he had him in
- 1:35the go Kart couple years ago, I think it was like 5 years old.
- 1:39They start these racers so young that when they put him in these
- 1:42go karts, the helmets that the kids are wearing are bigger than
- 1:46them. You'll see the go Kart or the
- 1:48whatever it is, the race car going around Mill Bridge and all
- 1:51you see is the helmet bopping. You're like, is there a kid in
- 1:55there? So anyway, Corey Heim, I think
- 1:582325 years old something right there that's pushing it.
- 2:04These these automakers, they freak out.
- 2:07They love youth. Yes, they do.
- 2:09They love youth, but they just they just get all jacked up on
- 2:13Mountain Dew. Oh, look, he's young.
- 2:15Look, he's just, he's two months old.
- 2:17He won the Daytona 500. Simmer down, everybody, simmer
- 2:21down. But that's why NASCAR put that
- 2:26age limit in there. They said you got to be 18 years
- 2:29old, you know, because that's the Kyle Busch rule.
- 2:33Kyle Busch was 16 years old and won a truck race, NASCAR truck
- 2:38race up there at the old Chicago land, Joliet.
- 2:42Wherever the hell racetracked it was, it was there, they ran,
- 2:44then it was gone. So that's the Kyle Busch rule.
- 2:47Got to be 18 years old to be racing in the NASCAR, the big
- 2:51three series. I think like trucks.
- 2:55I don't know how old you got to be to run in Cup.
- 2:58Respond right here. Is there an age limit?
- 3:01How old do you have to be to run in the Cup Series?
- 3:05Can you be racing in Cup at 18? Furthermore, who's the youngest
- 3:09driver that's ever run in Cup history?
- 3:13Just like who is it? Is it, is it Kyle Bush?
- 3:17I think it is. So this Corey Heim, he's the
- 3:21next big thing. Corey Heim is going to drive for
- 3:26Denny Hamlin, Michael Jordan, 2311.
- 3:29Well, at least they got him signed.
- 3:32Anytime he runs a Cup race, he runs good.
- 3:35But I don't, I don't, you know, I don't see anything that
- 3:38they're going to have to make some room for him something like
- 3:41that. I'm sure.
- 3:43Now I'm just taking a guess. Here's my opinion.
- 3:46I'm sure Corey Haim would already be there if they
- 3:49wouldn't be doing all this lawsuit stuff.
- 3:52They would announce something, let's put it that way.
- 3:55So Corey Haim, he's the next big thing. 9 truck wins this year.
- 4:00He has tied Greg Biffle for the most wins in one year in the
- 4:05Truck Series. So the next driver, Connor
- 4:10Zillich. How about that Connor Zillich?
- 4:13I mean Connor is 18 years old with As he won 7-8 races already
- 4:18this year. Love that kid.
- 4:22I think Connor is one of the best raw talents in a long time.
- 4:30Said he was. They said he was taught over in
- 4:33Europe. Well, whoever the hell taught
- 4:35him knew what they was doing because that kid can get it done
- 4:37on old tracks. Rd. course.
- 4:40He's the real deal now. He likes SVGSVG, likes him.
- 4:45They kind of got that Red Bull mentality.
- 4:48You know the the Red Bull club. I've seen videos where Connor
- 4:55Zilich knows Max Verstappen from Formula One.
- 5:01Max giving an attaboy so counter.
- 5:04Zilich is worldly. He's not just a NASCAR dude.
- 5:08Connor Zilich is worldly like he's known throughout the world
- 5:13somewhat because he ran over in Europe.
- 5:16I think they know he's a hell of a talent.
- 5:18Plus, I like Connor Zilich because he gave me respect at
- 5:24Rockingham this year when Schrader and myself went down
- 5:28there for, you know, the truck race, the Xfinity race, the ARCA
- 5:32race. Now Marty Lindley's is crew
- 5:34chief. I think Marty might have said,
- 5:36Connor, go over and talk to Kenny Wallace about this
- 5:40racetrack. He ran really good here.
- 5:42I don't care. All I can tell you is Connor
- 5:45Zillich walked up to me and smiled and said, Kenny, tell me
- 5:49how you got around here. And I said, well, all right,
- 5:52made me feel, made the old man feel good.
- 5:55So Connor Zillich, one of my favorite because he was nice to
- 5:59me. Now the next one I don't see
- 6:02coming for a while, but Corey Day, Corey Day in the open wheel
- 6:08world is like, you know, he's like the new Kyle Larson.
- 6:16But Corey Day, they're on the verge of, I'm not saying losing
- 6:23him. He's very young, but they got to
- 6:25get him going. He does not have enough asphalt
- 6:28racing to have it. I mean, I'd put him in anything.
- 6:31I I think, listen, they know what they're doing, but I really
- 6:35like to see Corey Day, you know, like racing late miles,
- 6:40everything like right now, let's get it done.
- 6:42So Corey Day is being paid right now.
- 6:45He's on the payroll at Hendrick and I talked to Kyle Larson at
- 6:53Trackside Live up there just, you know, on Sunday at Loudon,
- 6:58NH and I agree with what Kyle Larson said about Corey Day.
- 7:06He's like, ah man, we just, you know, he's not as far farther
- 7:10ahead as, you know, Corey Heim and Connor Zilla's because
- 7:16although Corey Day is great in the open wheel dirt world, they
- 7:19he just hasn't run enough asphalt racing.
- 7:21So I think he's going to be lagging.
- 7:23As great as Corey Day he is, I think he's going to be lagging.
- 7:26I think he's going to be in his mid 20s before we see him
- 7:30winning anything in NASCAR. Who knows, maybe he might not
- 7:33get a hang of it. If you remember Sammy Swindell
- 7:40and Steve Kinzer, they, they came to NASCAR too late and
- 7:45although, although they're great, they really never got a
- 7:48hang of it. So you got to get these kids on
- 7:52asphalt early if you want them to be NASCAR heroes.
- 7:58So that's it everybody. That's my top three.
- 8:01You got Corey Heim, he's number one, tied right there with
- 8:07Connor Zillich. Actually, I'd say let's back
- 8:09that up. Connor zillich #1 And here's
- 8:12why. Because he's going to drive Cup
- 8:16next year, Sir. Connor zillich #1 he's going to
- 8:21drive the car. Daniel Suarez, he's going to be
- 8:23with track house. Sir Connor Zillich driving at
- 8:27track house in the Cup series next year.
- 8:29Connor zillich #1 Corey heim #2 he's won nine truck right now.
- 8:34Remember, if Corey Heim wins one more truck race, that means he's
- 8:39the winningest. He'll hold the record for the
- 8:41most truck wins in one year, moving ahead of the BIFF.
- 8:46And then of course #3 right now on my radars, Corey David, they
- 8:50got to get, they got to get him rolling.
- 8:51They got to get him more. I mean, he's got to get at least
- 8:55be running up there at Hickory just about twice a month.
- 9:01All right, everybody, if you know anybody out there, respond
- 9:05right here. But that's my top three.
