- 0:02Speaker 1: This is Teddy Teapod. Hi, guys, welcome to this week's
- 0:14Speaker 1: Teddy Teapod, who I am co hosting with Bob Guinney.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Most of you who know me at all know that
- 0:23Speaker 1: I'm like a crazed Bachelor fan, like from the very beginning,
- 0:29Speaker 1: and I couldn't think of sharing all of my personal
- 0:33Speaker 1: information with anybody other than you because you were one
- 0:36Speaker 1: of my favorites than so many incredible things post Bachelor,
- 0:41Speaker 1: but I figured, you know what, I'm so grateful to
- 0:44Speaker 1: have you here today because you know you've been through
- 0:47Speaker 1: this reality world business back in then you know those
- 0:52Speaker 1: of it. Well, thank first of all, thanks for having me.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I really appreciate it. I'm excited to be on and
- 0:58Speaker 1: uh yeah, you know if they if they were watching
- 1:00Speaker 1: the show that far back, you were probably still in diaper.
- 1:02Speaker 1: So I appreciate it how you're able to No, so
- 1:05Speaker 1: white year were you on was in n No what?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh my god, you actually just made me feel older
- 1:12Speaker 1: than I am. No, it was two thousand and three,
- 1:15Speaker 1: as on trist this season and then so it was
- 1:17Speaker 1: the first bachelotte and then they made me the bachelor,
- 1:19Speaker 1: so I was actually the fourth bachelor, and I was
- 1:21Speaker 1: in two thousand and four, Okay, so I knew it
- 1:23Speaker 1: was close to when I originally moved out. So I
- 1:26Speaker 1: moved to California nine and we would have like viewing
- 1:31Speaker 1: parties in my like little apartment that I shared with
- 1:33Speaker 1: like eighties six other people. That has stuck with us.
- 1:38Speaker 1: This will be the first year that I can't have
- 1:40Speaker 1: my Bachelor viewing parties because of COVID. I know, man,
- 1:44Speaker 1: COVID thing is just killing so many fun things. You know,
- 1:48Speaker 1: it's just not the same one zoom, But at least
- 1:50Speaker 1: this call, it feels the same. It feels like we're
- 1:52Speaker 1: sitting in the same room together. It does. And so
- 1:55Speaker 1: you know, I wanted to tell you. So my wife,
- 1:57Speaker 1: who you've not met, um uh, we just moved from
- 2:02Speaker 1: Seattle back to the Midwest, and my wife her best friend, uh,
- 2:06Speaker 1: a lady in Cherish, is in Seattle, and so they
- 2:10Speaker 1: would watch every episode of Real Housewives and they are
- 2:13Speaker 1: the Teddy and Kyle relationship up there. And it was
- 2:16Speaker 1: so funny because they'd always be like, I call my
- 2:19Speaker 1: wife Kenyon, which is her maiden name, but Kanyon. I
- 2:21Speaker 1: was always like, you know, he can Kanyon, you know
- 2:24Speaker 1: what's going on? There, She's like, well everyone's just Teddy
- 2:26Speaker 1: and Kyle and us yet again, So I'll just kiss uh.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And so is she the teddy? She's the teddy. Yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and her friend cherishes the coum. Is she a little
- 2:37Speaker 1: bit type A controlling, funny though loving way, Yes, yes
- 2:44Speaker 1: she is. Actually, when we were getting married, I called
- 2:46Speaker 1: her the Frugal Fiance because she I was like, you
- 2:49Speaker 1: should have your own like pod series and it called
- 2:51Speaker 1: the Frugal Fiance And she's like, what do you I go, Well,
- 2:53Speaker 1: everything that comes up, You're like, wait a minute, I
- 2:55Speaker 1: can go get that at Costco and make it myself.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Now that's not a teddy thing. That's just a canyon to.
- 3:00Speaker 1: But to give you an idea of her type A nous,
- 3:02Speaker 1: it comes out. You know what, she's a girl after
- 3:05Speaker 1: my own heart type AI till the end. But she's
- 3:07Speaker 1: probably a straight shooter and that's you know why you
- 3:09Speaker 1: fell in love with her, because it's it's it's a
- 3:14Speaker 1: blessing and a curse for us straight shooter type A types. Yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: this last week has been such craziness around here. Well
- 3:23Speaker 1: I only imagine. I mean you're dealing with First of all,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I said this last night in passing. But I know
- 3:29Speaker 1: we have a lot of news to get to today,
- 3:30Speaker 1: in particular what's going on with housewives and with you
- 3:34Speaker 1: and uh and I mean, at the end of the day,
- 3:36Speaker 1: it's just got to be such a I would imagine
- 3:39Speaker 1: you said of blessing and a curse. I would imagine
- 3:41Speaker 1: you're probably feeling a little bit of a blessing and
- 3:43Speaker 1: a curse or a little bit of a relief, but
- 3:44Speaker 1: also a little bit of like, you know, what the
- 3:47Speaker 1: hell is going on here? I mean, so what is
- 3:48Speaker 1: going on? The headlines are out right now about you
- 3:51Speaker 1: know you. So the crazy thing, the craziest part about
- 3:55Speaker 1: it was, I think it was last Monday. I woke up,
- 3:59Speaker 1: I was on the Holton and my girlfriend started texting
- 4:03Speaker 1: me my non television show girlfriends and they're like, hey,
- 4:07Speaker 1: is everything cool? And I'm like why, and they're like, well,
- 4:12Speaker 1: it's all over the Daily Mail that you're no longer
- 4:14Speaker 1: a housewife. And I was like, oh, come on, you know,
- 4:19Speaker 1: like whatever, you know, like you know, And then I
- 4:22Speaker 1: went on Daily Mail and looked at it and then
- 4:24Speaker 1: I like sent the message to my manager and agent
- 4:27Speaker 1: publicist and I was like, hey, guys, what's up? And
- 4:31Speaker 1: like maybe not three hours later, I get the phone
- 4:34Speaker 1: call and they're like hey, and I'm like what and
- 4:38Speaker 1: they're like, so, um, your contracts not getting renewed as
- 4:44Speaker 1: a housewife, And I'm like, you are telling me that
- 4:48Speaker 1: it's released to the Daily Mail before me, so that
- 4:53Speaker 1: to me, you know, like you have to kind of
- 4:56Speaker 1: go through a couple of different stages, which I'm sure
- 4:58Speaker 1: you know, but like the first stage like your ego,
- 5:01Speaker 1: like which we all hate to admit we have one,
- 5:03Speaker 1: but it's like what what is happening? Like how did
- 5:07Speaker 1: this happen? How did I have no idea? But then
- 5:09Speaker 1: you start to kind of think about things and I
- 5:12Speaker 1: started really like, of course my heart broke because I
- 5:15Speaker 1: was like, how was I blindsided by this? How did
- 5:18Speaker 1: this happen? And I wouldn't know, um, but I think
- 5:21Speaker 1: for the last couple of months I had been preparing
- 5:23Speaker 1: myself because we had like a really busy year last
- 5:28Speaker 1: year with our family, Like I got pregnant naturally for
- 5:30Speaker 1: the first time I had was able to tell the kids,
- 5:32Speaker 1: like I filmed so many amazing things that were never
- 5:36Speaker 1: shown on the show that I was like, it should
- 5:40Speaker 1: have been the writing on the wall, you know, like, okay,
- 5:43Speaker 1: all of the all the like things that make me
- 5:45Speaker 1: a likable, redeeming human being, we're not shown on the
- 5:48Speaker 1: season thing is the worst on the reality show, yeah,
- 5:54Speaker 1: you know, And so if you only see a certain
- 5:56Speaker 1: part of somebody, it's really hard to connect to them,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think. And I'm not blaming production or Bravo or
- 6:02Speaker 1: whatever it is, but I was there too, you know,
- 6:05Speaker 1: to do a certain part, and that part I did,
- 6:07Speaker 1: but if you don't see the other part, it's hard
- 6:10Speaker 1: to relate to the person. If you don't see me
- 6:12Speaker 1: at work, if you don't see me with my kids,
- 6:14Speaker 1: if you don't see me with my husband, and you
- 6:16Speaker 1: just see me arguing, right, it's I mean to be fair.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I mean you were you were a decent, like a
- 6:26Speaker 1: kind arguer. I will say that like in the episodes
- 6:29Speaker 1: that I've left, you were never like going for the juggler,
- 6:31Speaker 1: which you know, you weren't really playing the game, so
- 6:33Speaker 1: to speak. I guess in that regard where it's like
- 6:36Speaker 1: scorees Earth and then you know that's how everyone stays
- 6:39Speaker 1: getting renewed here here, right, they just don't really have
- 6:41Speaker 1: h I think the biggest thing for me was like
- 6:45Speaker 1: I always said, I was only gonna say things you
- 6:48Speaker 1: know what, I can't stand when it comes to like
- 6:50Speaker 1: listening to some few past housewives will come forward and
- 6:53Speaker 1: they'll be like I was forced to do that or
- 6:55Speaker 1: I was forced to that. We're not forced to do anything.
- 6:58Speaker 1: We're adults. You make our own decisions. But I can
- 7:01Speaker 1: say that, yes, I made mistakes throughout my time on Housewives,
- 7:06Speaker 1: but I also I also did authentically what felt right
- 7:11Speaker 1: to me in that moment. And yes, some things I
- 7:13Speaker 1: had to apologize for and some things I still stand
- 7:16Speaker 1: true to today. But I'm not going to be the
- 7:19Speaker 1: type that you're gonna worried is like gonna punch somebody.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Like everything I say comes from the heart. And maybe
- 7:25Speaker 1: that's why you know you're not gonna see craziness from me,
- 7:28Speaker 1: because like I'm doing it because it's how I'm feeling,
- 7:32Speaker 1: not what I think. You know, Jennifer is going to
- 7:35Speaker 1: think on blah blah blah watching it back. Sure, No,
- 7:39Speaker 1: I get it, And that's if you If you were
- 7:40Speaker 1: doing that, that's pretty transparent too, That's what they I say, right,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you can see right down the lens. So if you
- 7:45Speaker 1: were just putting on an act. Everyone would have been
- 7:48Speaker 1: pissed about that. They would have been able to pick
- 7:50Speaker 1: up on that and they would have been like, oh,
- 7:51Speaker 1: she's totally acting this out. So you know, that's I
- 7:54Speaker 1: think that people out there that love you are no.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I know that you're a very genuine article and that's
- 7:57Speaker 1: something that's important. You know, Thank you. I can imagine
- 8:10Speaker 1: being the last to know had to just be so disheartened.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I mean, well, I think, you know, there's also a
- 8:15Speaker 1: big part of when something is such a huge part
- 8:18Speaker 1: of your life for over three years and it takes
- 8:21Speaker 1: you know, we're filming five six days a week with
- 8:25Speaker 1: these same people, and it's not only just the other
- 8:28Speaker 1: women that you film with, it's also the producers, the crew.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Like you talk to these people more, almost more than
- 8:36Speaker 1: you talk to anybody else in your life. So I
- 8:40Speaker 1: remember and I still. I mean, I text, like I'm
- 8:43Speaker 1: on a you know, a group text with Erica and
- 8:46Speaker 1: Kyle and Renna, and like there are days where I'm like,
- 8:49Speaker 1: why do I feel sad today? And They're like, You're
- 8:51Speaker 1: gonna feel sad some days, like and then the next
- 8:54Speaker 1: day you're not gonna feel sad, and then you're gonna
- 8:56Speaker 1: feel sad, you know, like because it's a habit, it's
- 8:59Speaker 1: something that created in your life, and like it really
- 9:02Speaker 1: does feel like a breakup because like there're certain producers
- 9:06Speaker 1: that I would talk to, you know, like I joked,
- 9:09Speaker 1: but I joked with one of them. I was like,
- 9:11Speaker 1: you're like my my second husband, or like you're like
- 9:14Speaker 1: my sister wife. Like we talk so much that you know,
- 9:19Speaker 1: it's always going to be different, even if I came
- 9:21Speaker 1: back as a friend of or whatever happens, Like my
- 9:25Speaker 1: life will forever be different. But in that same token,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I feel like when I was all all in on Housewives,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I was unable to do some things that I know
- 9:36Speaker 1: I need to do in the rest of my life
- 9:38Speaker 1: because the negativity and the positivity, all of those things
- 9:43Speaker 1: consumes you. Oh yeah, for sure. Well you know you
- 9:46Speaker 1: mentioned the friend of I mean, would you would you
- 9:49Speaker 1: consider that, like if they came to do you and said, hey,
- 9:51Speaker 1: we'd like you to come back, and you know, be
- 9:53Speaker 1: kind of like a side a side player type of thing.
- 9:55Speaker 1: You know. I think there's different types of friends. I
- 9:58Speaker 1: think if if it came down into a situation where
- 10:01Speaker 1: like it was to support one of my friends at
- 10:03Speaker 1: an event, that I you know, I want to be
- 10:06Speaker 1: there for and I care about. You know what, if
- 10:08Speaker 1: it makes sense, then I you know, I'll never say never.
- 10:11Speaker 1: But I wouldn't want to be in a situation just
- 10:13Speaker 1: to like throw drama, you know, Like, yeah, so I
- 10:16Speaker 1: never say never because I just don't know the circumstance.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And some of these women I really love and care about. Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 1: well that's what I was thinking. I mean you just
- 10:25Speaker 1: mentioned like Ranna and and Erica, I mean, and obviously Kyle.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I mean those are real friends of yours now, like
- 10:31Speaker 1: you guys, because and I mean I've met Na years ago.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I've always loved her. You know, she's she's a wild card,
- 10:37Speaker 1: but she's funny and crazy. But were there anyone else?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Was there anyone else on the show that you feel
- 10:40Speaker 1: like you walk away with a genuine friendship that will last,
- 10:44Speaker 1: you know, while you're not on the show. You know,
- 10:47Speaker 1: I reached out to dereit Um because deret and I've
- 10:52Speaker 1: had some extreme highs and lows on the show. And
- 10:54Speaker 1: I don't know if that's because the extra you know,
- 10:57Speaker 1: just that extra pressure of like wanting to get your
- 10:59Speaker 1: point of ross or whatever it may be. But I
- 11:02Speaker 1: texted her as soon as I found out and just said, hey,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I just wanted to let you know, like we've had
- 11:07Speaker 1: good times and bad times on the show, but I
- 11:09Speaker 1: want to let you know they're not renewing me as
- 11:11Speaker 1: a housewife, and I just want to wish you the best,
- 11:14Speaker 1: like regardless of I think that Derit has a good
- 11:18Speaker 1: heart and our kids loved playing together. So I reached
- 11:21Speaker 1: out to her, and then, like Sutton and I have
- 11:23Speaker 1: message back and forth, but like I you know, I
- 11:26Speaker 1: think that time will tell. Yeah, And I think it's
- 11:30Speaker 1: crazy to put too much expectation on yourself or on
- 11:33Speaker 1: other people, because also what starts to happen is you
- 11:36Speaker 1: don't want the others to feel like like they can't
- 11:40Speaker 1: share things with you or they need to share things
- 11:42Speaker 1: with you, because this is a situation out of our
- 11:44Speaker 1: control completely right. But I got ahead. I did hear
- 11:51Speaker 1: from Andy, and you know what, Andy did something like
- 11:53Speaker 1: I think it was on his podcast or on his
- 11:56Speaker 1: serious um channel where he said that my post was
- 12:01Speaker 1: the most like authentic departure post he had ever seen,
- 12:05Speaker 1: because I was just straight for you know, every housewife,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I think Prior always says, you know, it was a
- 12:10Speaker 1: mutual decision to not go. And you know the biggest
- 12:16Speaker 1: thing for me, I was like, I'm not gonna say that. Yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say that. I'm not gonna do that
- 12:21Speaker 1: because it's not true and if anything, I'd rather be honest.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And then I got some heat because people are like,
- 12:28Speaker 1: why did you turn off your commenting? Like why did
- 12:31Speaker 1: you turn your commenting off on that post? If you're
- 12:33Speaker 1: gonna be so authentic and be so honest, why are
- 12:35Speaker 1: you turning off your commenting? And the truth is, sometimes
- 12:39Speaker 1: you're okay, you're in a good mental state to take
- 12:42Speaker 1: heat and to take the abuse or to take trolls,
- 12:45Speaker 1: or to take people coming at your family. That wasn't
- 12:48Speaker 1: the day for me now. And that's your choice to
- 12:51Speaker 1: make too, you know. I I think about that, like
- 12:53Speaker 1: I was. I was wondering, because I mean I used
- 12:55Speaker 1: to when I was a pachelor. I remember I'd have
- 12:57Speaker 1: like five nice things said about me in two bad things,
- 13:01Speaker 1: and those two bad things would stick in my mind
- 13:03Speaker 1: for like a month, you know, and I would second
- 13:04Speaker 1: guess everything, and it was like these people don't realize
- 13:07Speaker 1: you're a human being, you know, And so when you're
- 13:09Speaker 1: going through something like that. I would imagine turning the
- 13:11Speaker 1: comments off. You're like, look, I'm gonna be genuine and authentic,
- 13:13Speaker 1: but I take it. I'm gonna take today off, you
- 13:17Speaker 1: know which for me, I wanted to. I felt really
- 13:21Speaker 1: good about the way that I shared it. It was like,
- 13:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest. I had. I think that was
- 13:26Speaker 1: the second or third day after I found out, I
- 13:28Speaker 1: was going in waves of crying and then laughing and
- 13:31Speaker 1: then crying like I was. I didn't know how to
- 13:33Speaker 1: reconcile my emotions, but I knew I had to be
- 13:35Speaker 1: honest and I wanted to come forward and tell the
- 13:38Speaker 1: truth because it was almost generating more hate by the speculation.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I know they normally prefer to wait and do a
- 13:45Speaker 1: big announcement at the end, but I was like, I,
- 13:48Speaker 1: for me, I need, I need to say it because
- 13:50Speaker 1: I needed to like put a stop to people speculating
- 13:54Speaker 1: and I just want to kind of put it out there.
- 13:56Speaker 1: But I also didn't want my emotion about you know,
- 14:01Speaker 1: maybe grieving that the show's over or being excited for
- 14:04Speaker 1: what's to come, to be affected by somebody else's opinions
- 14:08Speaker 1: of me. Right, yeah, and there's gonna be you know,
- 14:10Speaker 1: the hardest part about that is a lot of those
- 14:12Speaker 1: people are fans and love you and support you, and
- 14:14Speaker 1: then you'll have a few people who they don't dislike you.
- 14:17Speaker 1: They just like to stir up the sauce, you know,
- 14:19Speaker 1: for reaction, and they don't realize how I can really
- 14:22Speaker 1: mess with you a little bit, you know, you know,
- 14:25Speaker 1: And I think it just all comes with time. I
- 14:27Speaker 1: mean when I first came to California when I was
- 14:29Speaker 1: seventeen years old, I had these like big dreams, you know,
- 14:33Speaker 1: like I was like, Okay, I want to be an actor,
- 14:34Speaker 1: I want to be a singer. And I remember my
- 14:38Speaker 1: first big rejection was the end for me, and I
- 14:43Speaker 1: didn't do anything in regards to that world again for
- 14:48Speaker 1: like fifteen years, Yeah, because like I didn't want to
- 14:52Speaker 1: hear it. It hurt me too much and I didn't
- 14:55Speaker 1: want to go back to that seventeen year old girl.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Like I've done so much work myself to to grow
- 15:02Speaker 1: and feel comfortable in my own skin and know who
- 15:04Speaker 1: I am, and sometimes we revert back to old patterns
- 15:10Speaker 1: when like things happen to us that are out of
- 15:12Speaker 1: our control and I just I don't want to do this.
- 15:15Speaker 1: It's not fair to me. It's not fair to my kids, right,
- 15:19Speaker 1: I was gonna say that. See, I mean, how do
- 15:20Speaker 1: you I mean, obviously you've had this discussion with your family,
- 15:24Speaker 1: So how are they reacting to? Like what's your husband think?
- 15:27Speaker 1: What does you know? What does everybody think? Um? My
- 15:29Speaker 1: husband's like listen, I think I he's like I wish
- 15:34Speaker 1: everybody got to see the amazing things about like like
- 15:37Speaker 1: your first season, people got to see a lot of
- 15:39Speaker 1: who you are, Like you're silly, you make fun of yourself,
- 15:42Speaker 1: you don't take yourself too seriously, but like you're also
- 15:46Speaker 1: such an amazing mom. Like we had a moment where
- 15:49Speaker 1: and I remember saying to production, like I'd rather not
- 15:52Speaker 1: film this because this is a really important thing for us.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It was the day we told our kids that we
- 15:56Speaker 1: were pregnant. We made this book and we read it
- 15:59Speaker 1: and like it was like we are you know, this
- 16:02Speaker 1: whole thing and and they were like, no, no, Teddy,
- 16:06Speaker 1: we'll do it. It'll be in there. And like I
- 16:10Speaker 1: thought that would be a memory that we would have forever,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and it wasn't in there, you know. So it's like
- 16:14Speaker 1: some of those things like gosh, you're like why did
- 16:17Speaker 1: I why did I share that side of me? Or
- 16:19Speaker 1: like things were asked about growing up and I'm like,
- 16:21Speaker 1: why did I share that? You know, you put yourself
- 16:23Speaker 1: on the table for not to be shown. But he
- 16:25Speaker 1: was like, here's the beauty of it, Teddy, Like you
- 16:29Speaker 1: came on. The people that watched the show and relate
- 16:32Speaker 1: to they still love you. They still, you know, are
- 16:34Speaker 1: motivated by what you're doing or inspired by what you're
- 16:37Speaker 1: doing or how you've changed your life. Your business is
- 16:39Speaker 1: in a good, healthy place, your kids are happy, like
- 16:43Speaker 1: we're we're still married, you know, like all all of
- 16:47Speaker 1: the things that can happen when you really put your
- 16:49Speaker 1: life out there, Like it didn't happen. We we came
- 16:53Speaker 1: out unscathed. I came out with some good friends. I
- 16:57Speaker 1: just moved into a beautiful new house. Like you know,
- 17:01Speaker 1: life is not I'm not in it's such a place.
- 17:04Speaker 1: But you know, there's definitely Oh. But the only person
- 17:07Speaker 1: that was really pissed was my son Cruz. He goes, Mom,
- 17:13Speaker 1: what did you do? And I said, you know, I
- 17:16Speaker 1: don't really know that I did anything, and he goes,
- 17:18Speaker 1: I wanted to be famous. Now what You're like, we
- 17:23Speaker 1: can work on that. You're gonna have to figure that
- 17:26Speaker 1: out on yourself, buddy. Yeah, that's really fun. How are
- 17:31Speaker 1: the kids? I mean, I know they're all going through
- 17:33Speaker 1: a little you know what, I don't one of them
- 17:35Speaker 1: had a little hand issue and the neurosurgery and everything.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Are you okay to talk about that? Like? How how's
- 17:39Speaker 1: everyone doing? Everybody's doing good. Um my daughter dev who
- 17:44Speaker 1: had neurosurgery, she gets her helmet on Friday or her
- 17:47Speaker 1: doc band and she's looking good, she's happy, she's you
- 17:51Speaker 1: wouldn't have known that she's had neurosurgery. Uh. And then
- 17:56Speaker 1: Slay and Cruise. I mean, they're doing as good as
- 17:58Speaker 1: they possibly can be. Doing school at home. You know,
- 18:00Speaker 1: there's highs and lows with that because they want to
- 18:03Speaker 1: bet all their friends. And luckily we found a huge
- 18:06Speaker 1: outlet which has been we've all been riding again. So
- 18:09Speaker 1: we got to the barn and ride horses and like
- 18:11Speaker 1: that's a safe, you know, sport for us to do. Yeah. Then, um, Luckily,
- 18:17Speaker 1: because of everything that's going on and because they can
- 18:20Speaker 1: do virtual school, my dad was like, hey, do you
- 18:23Speaker 1: want to come visit us? And he's like, you know,
- 18:25Speaker 1: we're figuring out a safe way to go visit my
- 18:28Speaker 1: mom and my dad and my sister, so everybody can
- 18:30Speaker 1: meet baby Dov and the kids, because it's been you know,
- 18:34Speaker 1: my dad met baby Dov, but my mom and my
- 18:36Speaker 1: sister haven't because you know, she's a pandemic baby. Right. Yeah,
- 18:40Speaker 1: that's It's such a weird time for everything, isn't it. Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 1: You know, I I was gonna tell you I have
- 18:45Speaker 1: the coolest memory of your dad. Uh. I was five
- 18:49Speaker 1: years old and we just signed a record deal and
- 18:52Speaker 1: I was playing the Bluebird in Bloomington's. I've been there. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 1: Kenny Arnolf was playing with a band. They're like just
- 18:59Speaker 1: having fun and playing and we were like the opener
- 19:02Speaker 1: for his band, and your dad came out and got
- 19:04Speaker 1: on stage and just started singing with his with case,
- 19:06Speaker 1: you know, and I just sat there and oh my god.
- 19:09Speaker 1: We closed the place down and we just hung out.
- 19:11Speaker 1: And I mean, I'd be lying if I said I
- 19:13Speaker 1: had like this great heart to heart with your dad,
- 19:15Speaker 1: which I didn't, but I was in the same room
- 19:18Speaker 1: with him, and I'm such a fan that it was
- 19:19Speaker 1: just so cool to get there and his hang with
- 19:21Speaker 1: him and his you know, he was telling stories and
- 19:23Speaker 1: just being just you know, really just like a cool
- 19:26Speaker 1: dude to be around. And Kenney are Enough was so
- 19:28Speaker 1: like gracious to us, and you know, it's like one
- 19:30Speaker 1: of those moments that you it sticks with you the
- 19:32Speaker 1: rest of your life, you know, And so I wanted
- 19:34Speaker 1: to share that way because it made a huge difference
- 19:36Speaker 1: for me when I when I'm not in that night. Oh,
- 19:38Speaker 1: I love that story, And I mean that's that's really
- 19:41Speaker 1: who he is. And I think that's taught me a
- 19:43Speaker 1: lot as well as like he's somebody who just really
- 19:46Speaker 1: loves what he does. Yeah, and he doesn't for him
- 19:50Speaker 1: and for you know, like he creates music that he loves,
- 19:53Speaker 1: that he cares about. He paints because it's something he
- 19:56Speaker 1: loves doing. And I think that that's been a big
- 19:58Speaker 1: lesson for me, and in regards to doing the show
- 20:01Speaker 1: and also having all in and also having my kids,
- 20:04Speaker 1: Like the importance has got to remain on what do
- 20:06Speaker 1: I love doing? What do I wake up in the
- 20:09Speaker 1: morning and crave doing. And that's helping people, and that's
- 20:14Speaker 1: working on myself. That's making sure that my family is
- 20:17Speaker 1: taking care of themselves and having fun and we are
- 20:19Speaker 1: doing things together and that I'm present and you know,
- 20:23Speaker 1: like truthfully. Like my dad was like, listen, Teddy, when
- 20:26Speaker 1: one door closes, another opens, as long as you keep
- 20:29Speaker 1: showing up for yourself every day. And that's the truth.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Like I've had paparazzi stalking me every day since it happened.
- 20:36Speaker 1: They've got some real flattering shots, let me tell you.
- 20:39Speaker 1: But like they stocked me on my runs because I
- 20:42Speaker 1: think they're waiting for me to like be having this
- 20:44Speaker 1: crying breakdown, you know what. I might have to them sometimes,
- 20:49Speaker 1: but it's not gonna be outside on my run, all right.
- 20:55Speaker 1: That's like, I guys, it's not gonna happen here. I
- 20:57Speaker 1: do that in the bathtub when no one's I'm watching
- 21:01Speaker 1: with a with a giant magnum of blind with my
- 21:04Speaker 1: huge apperall sprints, and you're just pretending I'm having self care. Yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 1: that's right. Accountability is your thing. So it's importantly you're
- 21:15Speaker 1: accountable for how much wine you're drinking on on one
- 21:17Speaker 1: of those nights too. You gotta, you know, keep your hands.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I'm definitely accountable the next morning. Well, I think it's
- 21:23Speaker 1: true too. It's like, you know, the adversity happens, right,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I meanies been a garbage year for so I mean
- 21:30Speaker 1: for all of us, so many people, you know, with
- 21:32Speaker 1: COVID and everything, and it's been just awful. The debates
- 21:35Speaker 1: were awful. If anybody watched it, you know, it's like
- 21:38Speaker 1: it's like, you know, there's no there's no sense of
- 21:40Speaker 1: calm and so much change happening. So it's like, you know,
- 21:44Speaker 1: of course this happened this year, and it's just all
- 21:46Speaker 1: the times is what happened. Of course it happened this year.
- 21:48Speaker 1: But it does give you a chance to to really
- 21:51Speaker 1: take the notoriety and the and the the you know,
- 21:54Speaker 1: the name recognition and everything you got from the show
- 21:57Speaker 1: and turn it into something great. I mean, I know
- 21:59Speaker 1: it's I know it's quick, but if you already started
- 22:02Speaker 1: kind of thinking about next steps or are you just
- 22:04Speaker 1: sort of sitting back and you know, I think the
- 22:07Speaker 1: biggest thing has been my My biggest focus has been like,
- 22:10Speaker 1: all right, I'm really leaning in too, and I leaning
- 22:14Speaker 1: in a such an over your work to stop leaning in.
- 22:19Speaker 1: But I've really been focusing on like the morale of
- 22:21Speaker 1: all of my employees and focusing on my clients and
- 22:25Speaker 1: the things that I did prior to Housewives, because you know,
- 22:30Speaker 1: when I when I'm filming Housewives. I can only keep
- 22:33Speaker 1: on so many personal clients myself, so now I'm starting
- 22:36Speaker 1: to grow that number again. I'm starting to also go
- 22:39Speaker 1: back to the things that I love that have nothing
- 22:42Speaker 1: to do with the television show, like going out to
- 22:45Speaker 1: the barn riding horses, like making time to talk to
- 22:49Speaker 1: the people in my life that are really important that
- 22:51Speaker 1: I do love, you know that when you're busy and
- 22:54Speaker 1: then they're like, Rush, how you doing? You know, like
- 22:56Speaker 1: even my sister, like rush conversations were like she's one
- 23:00Speaker 1: of my very best friends. I love her so much.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Like I need to take that time to, you know,
- 23:06Speaker 1: invest in those relationships that maybe I haven't been putting
- 23:10Speaker 1: enough effort into. And also like watching the show back,
- 23:13Speaker 1: there are some things that I've learned, you know, about
- 23:15Speaker 1: myself that I want to work on, and like I'm
- 23:19Speaker 1: glad that I, you know, was able to watch this
- 23:21Speaker 1: season back and go, Okay, you know, this was an
- 23:23Speaker 1: ideal this was an ideal rom and then also remember
- 23:26Speaker 1: the good parts, but then go okay, in the future, yes, Teddy,
- 23:29Speaker 1: you can still be straightforward. Yes you can say what's
- 23:32Speaker 1: on your heart. Maybe your tone could been a little different,
- 23:35Speaker 1: maybe you could you know, like that's part of you.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Like my my version of Teddy here at home. I'm
- 23:41Speaker 1: always like, it's not what you say, it's how you
- 23:44Speaker 1: say it. I said, it's my wife all like you
- 23:46Speaker 1: sound bad. She's like, it's just my voice, you know,
- 23:49Speaker 1: Like you know, sometimes my intensity level is a little hot,
- 23:53Speaker 1: you know. So and like the season before that, I've
- 23:55Speaker 1: learned like gosh, I'm really nagging my husband a lot,
- 23:58Speaker 1: you know, like or whatever. It made so just able
- 24:01Speaker 1: to kind of take those things and say, like all right,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I can grow and learn from this, and the friendships
- 24:05Speaker 1: that matter from the show will continue on. Yeah, that
- 24:08Speaker 1: doesn't end just because the contract then, you know. And
- 24:11Speaker 1: to that point, like I mean you said you reached
- 24:13Speaker 1: out to Dry, I mean, what what did Kyle say? Like,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I mean, I know you guys are so close. What
- 24:17Speaker 1: how does she read? I mean, I think there's always
- 24:20Speaker 1: this moment. There's this thing that like we always kind
- 24:24Speaker 1: of everybody knows that, like sometime after the reunion is
- 24:27Speaker 1: when you get your pickup letters, right, so everybody just
- 24:31Speaker 1: it's like that unknown thing that you don't really speak about. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 1: that morning I got the text about the Daily Mail.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I texted her and I was just like h and
- 24:43Speaker 1: She's like no, and I was like, yeah, I think
- 24:46Speaker 1: I think this is a yes, and she was like no,
- 24:51Speaker 1: you know what. And then once she found out, it's
- 24:54Speaker 1: like it all happens for a reason, like we love you.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I can't imagine doing this without you. We love you, Like,
- 25:00Speaker 1: but I I might even get emotional, so cheesy, but like, oh,
- 25:05Speaker 1: but being able to create such an amazing friendship through
- 25:09Speaker 1: reality television show, it's really unheard of. And my you know,
- 25:14Speaker 1: I never would have thought, like when people are like
- 25:16Speaker 1: our reality television shows fake, Like I never in my
- 25:20Speaker 1: deepest like thoughts of doing Housewives sort of been gosh,
- 25:23Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna find one of my very best friends
- 25:26Speaker 1: doing this show. You wouldn't have guess that in a
- 25:27Speaker 1: million years. Yeah, Like, and she has been a friend
- 25:31Speaker 1: that's connected with my friends, Like we have integrated into
- 25:34Speaker 1: each other's lives outside of the show. And it really
- 25:38Speaker 1: is incredible that you can really form that strong of
- 25:41Speaker 1: a relationship with cameras on you. It's amazing, isn't it.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I mean, forget the cameras are there, right, and you're
- 25:48Speaker 1: just being yourself, which I think is white people love
- 25:50Speaker 1: you so much. But I think about that with Kyle
- 25:52Speaker 1: te Like, I mean, you know, I watched the show
- 25:55Speaker 1: as much as I could, and I would always I
- 25:56Speaker 1: always like be to my wife and I was like, oh,
- 25:58Speaker 1: you're watching that show again, then I do. I can't
- 26:00Speaker 1: believe I would. Everyone makes fun of me for that,
- 26:04Speaker 1: but I would say you brought out a different side
- 26:06Speaker 1: of Kyle too, you know, Like, I mean, there's a
- 26:09Speaker 1: side of Kyle that I think seemed a lot more
- 26:10Speaker 1: relatable this past season in that, you know, she let
- 26:14Speaker 1: her guard down a little bit. She's always kind of been,
- 26:16Speaker 1: you know, battling out in the past with the ander pomp,
- 26:19Speaker 1: you know, for the Queen Bee type of situation, and
- 26:22Speaker 1: I think she's just you brought out a side of
- 26:24Speaker 1: her that I think you really needed to see too,
- 26:26Speaker 1: like a little more of a human side, you know. Well,
- 26:29Speaker 1: I I think we really trust one another and it
- 26:31Speaker 1: was a true authentic friendship. And I think that any show,
- 26:35Speaker 1: whenever you're you know, watching a show, you can feel
- 26:38Speaker 1: that and you can see that. And that's why I
- 26:39Speaker 1: think at the beginning of the season, all the women
- 26:42Speaker 1: were like, what's going on? What is this? What is it?
- 26:44Speaker 1: And we're like, this is called an authentic friendship? You guys,
- 26:49Speaker 1: what happens? I'm just kidding, idea. I actually I watched
- 27:02Speaker 1: the finale again last night, the part three of the
- 27:04Speaker 1: finale in UM. First of all, I love to pick
- 27:07Speaker 1: hare and I was that was a nice touch. Um.
- 27:10Speaker 1: But you know, Erica, You and Erica are like it
- 27:13Speaker 1: seemingly very different people, but you guys seem to have
- 27:16Speaker 1: like a nice understanding of one another. I thought, you
- 27:18Speaker 1: know what, I love Erica and I. The thing that
- 27:21Speaker 1: I learned so much is like Eric and I the
- 27:23Speaker 1: first season didn't click. And the reason why it was
- 27:27Speaker 1: we never did anything together the two of us. Every
- 27:30Speaker 1: single thing was in the group. So how do you
- 27:34Speaker 1: It's very hard to connect with a person in a
- 27:37Speaker 1: large group when you don't get to know anything about
- 27:40Speaker 1: that person and the only thing that you know about
- 27:42Speaker 1: them is what's been told to you from somebody else, right,
- 27:47Speaker 1: you know. So I got brought in and then you know,
- 27:49Speaker 1: had these conversations with vander Pumper Dread or whomever we're
- 27:53Speaker 1: having the current situation with her, and then I started
- 27:57Speaker 1: feeling things that maybe I didn't necessary really feel or no,
- 28:00Speaker 1: just because we never spoke, you know, it was other
- 28:04Speaker 1: than hello, like there was no time for us to connect.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And then once we both said, you know, at the
- 28:10Speaker 1: reunion after my first season, like okay, you know, we're
- 28:14Speaker 1: going to make a conscious effort to move forward and
- 28:16Speaker 1: get to know each other. It was impossible not to
- 28:18Speaker 1: like one another because like, she's a straight shooter, she's
- 28:24Speaker 1: an you know, an honest person. I've said this before,
- 28:26Speaker 1: but like if I were to get arrested tomorrow, Erica
- 28:29Speaker 1: would be the person I would call because I know
- 28:32Speaker 1: that she would never tell a soul, you know, like
- 28:34Speaker 1: she is. She is that kind of that kind of person.
- 28:37Speaker 1: And she's also funny and smart, and you know, I
- 28:41Speaker 1: think it takes a big person for both of us
- 28:43Speaker 1: to say, you know what, maybe we were wrong about
- 28:46Speaker 1: each other that first season. I think it says a lot. Yeah,
- 28:48Speaker 1: I mean, because it's hard to do. It's hard to look.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I mean, well, you mentioned it a few times, you know,
- 28:52Speaker 1: like looking back and watching the show, you decided maybe
- 28:55Speaker 1: you were a little nagan too much, you know, maybe
- 28:57Speaker 1: this or that. It's like it's hard to do that
- 28:58Speaker 1: self evaluation because I know for me, I mean, god,
- 29:01Speaker 1: I watched the first season on The Bachelorette back and
- 29:03Speaker 1: saw my side profile, I'm like, Okay, I've got to
- 29:06Speaker 1: do something. I'm not knocked cards and I'm doing some
- 29:10Speaker 1: donkey kicks immediately. But that was just a visual thing,
- 29:14Speaker 1: you know, and then you start realizing different things about yourself.
- 29:17Speaker 1: But it's hard to do that because it's you know,
- 29:18Speaker 1: you're doing it while still filming, are still in the
- 29:21Speaker 1: public eye, and it's so good for you. I mean,
- 29:23Speaker 1: I can't be easy. I mean, I think another big
- 29:25Speaker 1: thing about the show is what I've learned is you
- 29:27Speaker 1: have two options. You have the option to be the
- 29:29Speaker 1: type of person that talks behind somebody's back and in
- 29:33Speaker 1: their confessionals, or you have the option to always say
- 29:35Speaker 1: it to somebody's face. And even though it was hard,
- 29:39Speaker 1: it's hell for me to do it, I always chose
- 29:42Speaker 1: to say it to somebody's face. Yeah, and you see
- 29:45Speaker 1: that throughout all three of my seasons. Like, I mean,
- 29:47Speaker 1: I was on the struggle bus trying to do it,
- 29:49Speaker 1: and I mean, I said to myself, why do I
- 29:51Speaker 1: say awkward so many times? Because anytime I'd have to
- 29:54Speaker 1: do it, I'd like put my like man hands up
- 29:56Speaker 1: and I'd be like, this is gonna be awkward, you know,
- 29:59Speaker 1: but I had to go that route because the only
- 30:03Speaker 1: way that sits well with me, you know, like and
- 30:07Speaker 1: and that's the thing people do understand, like why would
- 30:09Speaker 1: you say it to her face? Or why did you
- 30:10Speaker 1: bring it up at a dinner because you think me
- 30:13Speaker 1: saying it in a confessional behind her back and letting
- 30:16Speaker 1: her find out six months later watching It's gonna be better. No, ma'am,
- 30:21Speaker 1: that's gonna be a hot mess right there if you
- 30:23Speaker 1: do that. I mean, you did the right thing. It's
- 30:25Speaker 1: I couldn't imagine it being easy. Even last night when
- 30:27Speaker 1: I rewatched uh the finale and you were like, you know,
- 30:30Speaker 1: you say that you support women, but you didn't get
- 30:33Speaker 1: on the plane and go, you know to Yeah. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 1: it's one of those things where I was watching, I
- 30:39Speaker 1: was like, oh wow, that's that took some that took
- 30:42Speaker 1: some chance. Yeah that's nice. But I think, you know,
- 30:45Speaker 1: for me, it wasn't like trying to get it at
- 30:49Speaker 1: at Garcela. I mean, I like Garsela. I think garselves funny.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I think she's a big personality. I think she's all
- 30:53Speaker 1: those things. But I think that it's it's really challenging
- 30:57Speaker 1: going through it and and always trying to say, like,
- 31:01Speaker 1: you know, we all have to empower each other in
- 31:03Speaker 1: every moment and this is who we are, and making
- 31:06Speaker 1: these big accusation as women, but then not necessarily doing
- 31:12Speaker 1: it or then kind of mocking the entire situation. We
- 31:16Speaker 1: all know we're on a TV show. We all know
- 31:18Speaker 1: that the TV show thrives on drama. So when you
- 31:23Speaker 1: say things like that, you know that it's going to
- 31:26Speaker 1: make other people look bad. You just it's you know,
- 31:30Speaker 1: like you know clearly if you're like, wow, guys, why
- 31:33Speaker 1: are you being so petty? You know what Real Housewives,
- 31:37Speaker 1: Beverly Hills this, so like let's let's let's yeah, let's
- 31:42Speaker 1: reel this. And it's not your first rodeo, so like that.
- 31:45Speaker 1: That was mainly my point, like you can't say those
- 31:48Speaker 1: kind of off the cuff comments if you're not gonna
- 31:52Speaker 1: be there every single time, showing up to show some more,
- 31:56Speaker 1: whether you're getting paid or not. That's right. That's another
- 32:00Speaker 1: thing too. I mean, you come through this whole situation
- 32:02Speaker 1: obviously a bunch of women. You almost become like a sisterhood,
- 32:05Speaker 1: and there's certain friendships you have that you're gonna take
- 32:07Speaker 1: away from it. But are there certain people that you're
- 32:10Speaker 1: almost thankful that you aren't gonna have to see again?
- 32:12Speaker 1: I mean, is it? I mean, I'm sure you'll still
- 32:14Speaker 1: see them, You'll still be in certain circles. But are
- 32:16Speaker 1: there certain people that you're glad you're not gonna have to,
- 32:18Speaker 1: you know, sit at dinner with every night? You know what?
- 32:21Speaker 1: I'm really excited not to be a part of Twitter.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Twitter, Like I want you to hold me
- 32:28Speaker 1: accountable to this. Okay, So I'm gonna put it out
- 32:32Speaker 1: there to all my Tea pod listeners and to you.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I don't want to be the ex housewife that is
- 32:40Speaker 1: tweeting on the show years after I have been on
- 32:43Speaker 1: the show about other people's problems, right, I never want
- 32:48Speaker 1: to be that person. I never want to be the
- 32:50Speaker 1: person shading somebody years after. Like it has been something
- 32:55Speaker 1: that has been crazy to me, Like Camille Grammar makes
- 32:57Speaker 1: it her sole mission in life to try to put
- 33:00Speaker 1: me down on Twitter, and I'm like, how does this
- 33:03Speaker 1: even involve you? And what do you care? Like I
- 33:06Speaker 1: just don't. That is my biggest goal, Like if I'm
- 33:09Speaker 1: involved in something, if I do come back as a
- 33:11Speaker 1: friend and it's something I'm involved in, Okay, that's fine.
- 33:14Speaker 1: But if I am not on that show, I better
- 33:17Speaker 1: not be commenting on Twitter. Yeah, like absolutely not, and
- 33:22Speaker 1: especially if it's not and you know, and trying to
- 33:26Speaker 1: be funny and when trying to be mean. Yeah, you know,
- 33:29Speaker 1: I just don't. I don't want to become that. I
- 33:31Speaker 1: don't want to be bitter. I don't want to be angry.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I don't want to go after people that are on
- 33:35Speaker 1: a show that I was once on, Like I just
- 33:38Speaker 1: that negativity I am. I really want to be done with. Yeah.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I think that's a smart movement. I mean, at the
- 33:45Speaker 1: end of the day, it's like, you don't strike me
- 33:47Speaker 1: as a type of person who's gonna be, you know,
- 33:49Speaker 1: sitting there and like watching every episode and trying to
- 33:51Speaker 1: figure out mean tweets. Like, you know, I may send
- 33:54Speaker 1: a text to my girlfriends that are on the show
- 33:56Speaker 1: and be like whoa hot mass express or like you
- 34:00Speaker 1: really drunk? Or this really happened, you know, whatever happened.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I may heckle them to their favorite But I really
- 34:06Speaker 1: I think there's and I don't want Housewives to be
- 34:09Speaker 1: something that defines me forever where I feel the need
- 34:13Speaker 1: to justify things ten years later. Yeah, yeah, that's yeah.
- 34:20Speaker 1: It's a it's a launching pad, right. I mean, it's
- 34:21Speaker 1: a great opportunity for you to get out there and
- 34:23Speaker 1: then obviously with all the other things you have going
- 34:25Speaker 1: on in your life, it's it's it's not a bad
- 34:28Speaker 1: thing that people know you as someone who is a
- 34:30Speaker 1: straight shooter, who is going to lay their heart out
- 34:32Speaker 1: there on the line and not be That was a
- 34:34Speaker 1: big thing for me when I was the Bachelor guy too,
- 34:36Speaker 1: or on the Best Route rather, I should say before
- 34:38Speaker 1: the Bachelor, but I didn't want to be the guy
- 34:40Speaker 1: in the I t m S. Was in the moment
- 34:42Speaker 1: things with producers where I was like trashing the other guys.
- 34:44Speaker 1: So I told them that because that was that was
- 34:47Speaker 1: my That was like my badge of honor in my mind,
- 34:49Speaker 1: because I'm like, I gotta go home after this, and
- 34:50Speaker 1: the last thing I wanted my buddies just ragging on
- 34:53Speaker 1: me because I'm super nice in this dude's face and
- 34:55Speaker 1: then stabbing the them back, you know, when I'm not
- 34:57Speaker 1: around them. So I think that that has always a
- 35:00Speaker 1: nice thing that I've heard from other people that they
- 35:02Speaker 1: respected from the show. So I I totally feel that
- 35:06Speaker 1: and something that my um babysitter said to me. You know,
- 35:11Speaker 1: after I found out about getting let go from the show,
- 35:13Speaker 1: which I had totally kind of forgotten about. You know,
- 35:15Speaker 1: you almost like black out the negatives when something happens,
- 35:18Speaker 1: Like you're like, oh, I don't remember this side I said.
- 35:21Speaker 1: I was like, gosh, you know, like I just can't
- 35:24Speaker 1: believe this happened. Blah blah blah, and she goes, Teddy,
- 35:26Speaker 1: I'm just so grateful this happened for you. And I
- 35:29Speaker 1: said why and she goes, I remember so many nights
- 35:32Speaker 1: throughout these last three years where you'd come home later
- 35:35Speaker 1: than you wanted to come home, or whatever happened, and
- 35:39Speaker 1: you'd be crying and you would be sad about what
- 35:43Speaker 1: went down. And you know, even though I wasn't crying
- 35:46Speaker 1: on the show, like, yes, I was sometimes believe me,
- 35:49Speaker 1: everybody now it's called me or crying baby all you want,
- 35:51Speaker 1: but I those car rides home from every single event,
- 35:55Speaker 1: going through everything that may have happened to you or
- 35:57Speaker 1: to your friend or between two friends, like it eats
- 36:01Speaker 1: away at your soul, and like I would come home
- 36:05Speaker 1: and I'd have tears in my eyes. You know, ripping
- 36:07Speaker 1: off those fake eyelashes, like taking out my extensions. Like
- 36:11Speaker 1: I say, my like driver that drove me to and
- 36:13Speaker 1: from Housewives, and I'm like he was like my therapist.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Like we'd sit in the car right home and I'd
- 36:17Speaker 1: be like, I can't believe it's happened, and so and
- 36:19Speaker 1: so I just feel sick, like and anxiety and like
- 36:23Speaker 1: just consumes so much of your life. Sure, I mean
- 36:28Speaker 1: some of those arguments are just I mean, I watched
- 36:31Speaker 1: still and it's funny with my wife, She'll go, you
- 36:33Speaker 1: know what, this relaxes me. I'm like, how does this
- 36:35Speaker 1: relax you? Like it makes me insane, Like I'm like
- 36:38Speaker 1: jumping out of my seat, like I'm you know, I
- 36:40Speaker 1: was watching it. I can only imagine how it had
- 36:42Speaker 1: to feel afterwards. And that's funny that you say that
- 36:44Speaker 1: the drivers like a therapist, because that he's probably like,
- 36:47Speaker 1: you know, he's probably the guy who really holds those
- 36:49Speaker 1: where all the bodies are buried, so sure he knows
- 36:52Speaker 1: the good like because if also there were times I
- 36:55Speaker 1: was crying, There's also times I was pissed. You know,
- 36:57Speaker 1: she's in the car, like I can't believe she at
- 37:00Speaker 1: that I can't believe she said that to me. I
- 37:02Speaker 1: can't you know whatever it maybe or like the drive
- 37:05Speaker 1: home from this season when I cried. I think I
- 37:08Speaker 1: only cried one time this season, which is a small miracle.
- 37:13Speaker 1: On the way home, my husband's like, I had never
- 37:16Speaker 1: seen it happen like any other time during Housewives. It
- 37:19Speaker 1: wasn't like a group dinner, and I like broke down.
- 37:21Speaker 1: So he was like casually eating a salad during it,
- 37:23Speaker 1: and he's like, babe. And on the way home he's like,
- 37:27Speaker 1: I can't believe you cried, Like why do you even care?
- 37:29Speaker 1: Why would you even get upset? And my driver he
- 37:32Speaker 1: goes edwin. Now it's not a good time. That's so funny.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Now it's not a good time for her. She's processing.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Let let it die down. She just had a dramatic experience.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I know this, this is her process. She's gonna sit quiet,
- 37:52Speaker 1: and then she'll start venting, and then she may cry again,
- 37:55Speaker 1: give a few minutes. It's funny. I remind myself all
- 37:59Speaker 1: the time. But like the things I'm supposed to do
- 38:00Speaker 1: with my life's and at me and I'm like, okay,
- 38:02Speaker 1: I probaish you just step away. Let her process and
- 38:04Speaker 1: then come back in. So it's got to be hard
- 38:06Speaker 1: when you're in those like pressure cooker moments. You know,
- 38:09Speaker 1: it was funny, seem like this is totally off topic,
- 38:12Speaker 1: but it's I've never seen anyone do it on any
- 38:14Speaker 1: of the shows before until de Nice. But where like she,
- 38:18Speaker 1: I think she just assumed that if she said certain
- 38:21Speaker 1: things and that they wouldn't air it because it didn't
- 38:23Speaker 1: seem like a TV show. I mean, she would tell
- 38:25Speaker 1: her husband like, hey, stop, you know, stop saying stop
- 38:27Speaker 1: seeing anything cameras on, you know, And the fact that
- 38:29Speaker 1: they would leave that in I thought was kind of
- 38:32Speaker 1: shrewd by Bravo, like a smart move by the producer. Well,
- 38:35Speaker 1: this is the first year they broke the fourth wall
- 38:37Speaker 1: in general, but it was because she kept breaking the
- 38:40Speaker 1: fourth wall, so not that's not happening. Like we all
- 38:43Speaker 1: know we're on camera. We don't need to like remind
- 38:45Speaker 1: ourselves like so I think that's partially why. But also
- 38:50Speaker 1: like even in the interviews they showed, like production talking
- 38:53Speaker 1: to us asking interview questions and then us thinking about
- 38:57Speaker 1: the answer, you know, like all of that. I actually
- 39:00Speaker 1: thought it was good that they did that because I
- 39:03Speaker 1: think sometimes it's hard to understand where we're coming from,
- 39:05Speaker 1: or like you saw a producer talking to Garcella at
- 39:08Speaker 1: the car one time, like they're just opening it up
- 39:11Speaker 1: because oftentimes, you know, you are watching the show and
- 39:16Speaker 1: you're like, how did that come up? You know, like
- 39:17Speaker 1: how does this happen? And it's so many things stem
- 39:21Speaker 1: from fourth wall stuff right now, Like and for those
- 39:24Speaker 1: of you guys who don't know what fourth wall means,
- 39:26Speaker 1: because I had no idea what fourth wall met my
- 39:28Speaker 1: first season. When everyone's like, oh, that's for you know,
- 39:31Speaker 1: you can't break the fourth wall or whatever it was,
- 39:34Speaker 1: that is anything that makes what you're doing a TV
- 39:37Speaker 1: show versus reality. So so when Denise would say Bravo, bravo,
- 39:45Speaker 1: effing bravo, she was trying to break the fourth wall,
- 39:49Speaker 1: which would mean that production stops what they're doing and
- 39:53Speaker 1: then read does the scene. But the problem is we
- 39:55Speaker 1: had never seen that. That wasn't something we were doing.
- 39:58Speaker 1: So then that created a whole new issue with all
- 40:00Speaker 1: of us. Yeah, no, no one was happy about it.
- 40:04Speaker 1: You know, it was happy about it because we're all like,
- 40:05Speaker 1: why can you do that? But we can. I would
- 40:08Speaker 1: love to have done Bravo, Bravo, effing Bravo when I
- 40:11Speaker 1: was crying at Kyle's dinner at the beginning of the season.
- 40:14Speaker 1: But you signed up to do this, Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 40:18Speaker 1: It's your it's kind of your job right now, so
- 40:19Speaker 1: you gotta stick with it and take the give in
- 40:21Speaker 1: to that. Yeah. Yeah, that's interesting. I was wondering about
- 40:25Speaker 1: that because I mean, I was thinking that to myself,
- 40:27Speaker 1: Like we would do those I t M s where
- 40:29Speaker 1: we would sit there and you know, and I'm not
- 40:30Speaker 1: sure if this is how it works with the producers
- 40:32Speaker 1: on on on the Housewives, but they would basically we
- 40:35Speaker 1: would use what they would say to us in a
- 40:37Speaker 1: question and we would repeat it back on camera to
- 40:39Speaker 1: kind of give the context of what we were doing. So,
- 40:42Speaker 1: for example, like if I was just not a group date,
- 40:44Speaker 1: they'd say today I want a group date with Debbie,
- 40:46Speaker 1: Brenda and Ronda, and I'd be like, today, I want
- 40:48Speaker 1: a group date with DEBI, you know. And that's why
- 40:50Speaker 1: I think they weren't amazing so much on The Bachelor,
- 40:52Speaker 1: because the producers are like, today, today was just amazing.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I wanted this great group date, and that's how I
- 40:56Speaker 1: would start my sentence. You know, did did that ever play?
- 40:59Speaker 1: In to those you would have on the show. The
- 41:03Speaker 1: only time it happened was my first season when I
- 41:12Speaker 1: I had I was upset about the situation with Erica
- 41:17Speaker 1: that she wasn't agreeing with me, like even though she
- 41:19Speaker 1: had already agreed with me, and I was venting to
- 41:22Speaker 1: a producer and we had both like, I think that
- 41:26Speaker 1: the pretend to amnesia comment, I don't know that that
- 41:30Speaker 1: came from my own like I know that that was
- 41:32Speaker 1: said and are venting back and forth. I just thow
- 41:35Speaker 1: I came up with it because I did. I'm like,
- 41:39Speaker 1: I don't know that I've ever thought like granted, I
- 41:41Speaker 1: think maybe we were just like I was like, I
- 41:43Speaker 1: can't believe she said that I remember this happening and
- 41:46Speaker 1: we were walking up the stairs and I had the
- 41:48Speaker 1: memory and they showed the memory later that did happened.
- 41:51Speaker 1: But but I think the producer may have been like,
- 41:54Speaker 1: I know, it's like pretend Amnizia. And then I remember
- 41:57Speaker 1: three days later sitting down and being like, pretend Amnisia.
- 41:59Speaker 1: And then I was like, Dann, why did I say that?
- 42:03Speaker 1: You know, like, but it wasn't ever Teddy, you should
- 42:07Speaker 1: say this. It's just talking to another human being. It's
- 42:11Speaker 1: like if you hang out with somebody for a long
- 42:12Speaker 1: time and they say the word y'all, all of a
- 42:16Speaker 1: sudden you start saying y'all. It's not subliminally subliminally happening
- 42:22Speaker 1: versus you know, you're being told to do something, not
- 42:25Speaker 1: forcing the words down their mouth, but it's just out
- 42:27Speaker 1: there in the atmosphere, and it's just in your head,
- 42:29Speaker 1: you know, even even my you know, I got so
- 42:33Speaker 1: much heat about talking with my hands, which you can
- 42:35Speaker 1: see I do seven. I can't help it. My dad
- 42:38Speaker 1: does it, and then my mom does it. She's Italian,
- 42:41Speaker 1: like this is who we are. So I got so
- 42:44Speaker 1: much heat about it that I tried for like a
- 42:47Speaker 1: couple of episode, a couple of confessionals to sit on
- 42:50Speaker 1: my hands. Like I was like, okay, I'm going to
- 42:53Speaker 1: not use my hands in confessionals. This is my new thing.
- 42:57Speaker 1: And I got a call and said, Teddy, I don't
- 42:59Speaker 1: know what you've changed your confessionals, but you're like a
- 43:02Speaker 1: zombie up there. You need because I couldn't. I don't
- 43:09Speaker 1: know how to talk without my hands. So it's like
- 43:11Speaker 1: if you try to change who you are, it just
- 43:13Speaker 1: doesn't You can't do it. No, I totally agree. Well,
- 43:18Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be huge for you. I think
- 43:20Speaker 1: it's exciting. I know it. You know at the beginning,
- 43:23Speaker 1: like you said, it had to suck the way it felt,
- 43:25Speaker 1: and I think you're being so honest about it that
- 43:27Speaker 1: it's going to really let people see, you know, why
- 43:29Speaker 1: they fell in love with you in the first place.
- 43:31Speaker 1: And so ultimately that's kind of the big big takeaway
- 43:34Speaker 1: for me, you know, just getting to talk to you
- 43:35Speaker 1: today on this, and I mean, I guess, like what
- 43:38Speaker 1: what is I know you said what's next is like
- 43:40Speaker 1: you're gonna focus on your business, focus on your family folks.
- 43:43Speaker 1: On that are you're gonna take any time just for
- 43:45Speaker 1: yourself and just kind of peel back, And you know,
- 43:48Speaker 1: I think I kind of already have been. I think
- 43:50Speaker 1: from that I let myself fully feel like more in
- 43:54Speaker 1: the first couple of days. And then now for me,
- 43:57Speaker 1: what makes me feel best is routine. Like I know
- 44:01Speaker 1: it's working for my family. I know, like we get up,
- 44:04Speaker 1: we have our morning breakfast, you know, we have that,
- 44:06Speaker 1: like we put on music and then like I go
- 44:08Speaker 1: for a walk or run and like I have to
- 44:10Speaker 1: keep doing me And I know the ideas will keep coming.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I know that the next steps will keep coming, and
- 44:16Speaker 1: I know if I have a bad day, it will
- 44:17Speaker 1: pass right. And like, that's that's how you have to be.
- 44:21Speaker 1: If if you pretend that every day you're gonna wake
- 44:23Speaker 1: up and feel happy or feel the same exact way
- 44:26Speaker 1: you feel felt yesterday, you're gonna do damage. Yeah, especially
- 44:30Speaker 1: during this time and everybody's life is like it's tough
- 44:33Speaker 1: to wake up and even just put a smile on
- 44:35Speaker 1: your face. So it's like to go through something like
- 44:37Speaker 1: this on top of all this other bs and come
- 44:40Speaker 1: out with a positive mental attitude, and especially because there's
- 44:43Speaker 1: so many unhappy people on Instagram on social media right now,
- 44:47Speaker 1: they're doing everything they can to try to, you know,
- 44:50Speaker 1: hurt others. You know, I just keep trying to remember,
- 44:52Speaker 1: like that's not who I want to be, right, That's
- 44:56Speaker 1: gonna be my focus. And I think if we do that,
- 44:58Speaker 1: then we're all gonna get through this. We're all in
- 45:00Speaker 1: this together, and you know what good things are ahead.
- 45:05Speaker 1: I can feel it. I can feel it too well.
- 45:07Speaker 1: I love go today. Thanks for taking time with me
- 45:10Speaker 1: and for letting me come on your show and hang out. Well,
- 45:13Speaker 1: thank you so much. I hope to talk to you soon,
- 45:15Speaker 1: and please tell your wife I said hello, and anytime
- 45:18Speaker 1: she comes to l A and wants to hit up
- 45:19Speaker 1: Home Goods or Costco, I'm her gal. Those are her
- 45:22Speaker 1: two favorite spots, so I know she was. But thanks, Datty.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I love talking to you man. Have a great rest
- 45:29Speaker 1: of your day. Tell your family I said hello, and
- 45:31Speaker 1: hopefully we'll get to hang out in l A sometime soon.
