- 0:02Hello, everyone. Welcome back
- 0:03to EyeOpener Society. Welcome back to another one of my solo episodes.
- 0:07My name is Gary Dean. I'm with EyeOpener Society. Welcome.
- 0:12I've been sitting a lot with myself in these past few days, and I've definitely
- 0:21gathered a lot of stuff from source.
- 0:25And I've been sitting with it and playing with it. And I've been deciding that
- 0:30a lot of the stuff that we do in reality is completely unnecessary.
- 0:38Now, one of those things, incredibly, is shelter.
- 0:44We seem to have this love affair with real estate. Or even when we're renting.
- 0:52You know, we're looking for certain things, things that are completely unnecessary.
- 0:59Now, I've been thinking a lot about, you know, living a van life nomadically
- 1:04and just getting around and seeing different things.
- 1:07Just living out of a van alone takes away all of the unnecessary stuff that
- 1:13you need. And that could go even further.
- 1:17Many of these vans that are built up and even these motorhomes,
- 1:21they have kitchens. Everybody seems to be obsessed with a kitchen.
- 1:26You know, you could go very easily and pay anywhere between like $18 to $25
- 1:31for a two-burner electric element that you could put away inside of a drawer
- 1:37somewhere and then only take it out when it's necessary.
- 1:40A couple of utensils, a plate, a couple of cups.
- 1:46What more do you need? We overcomplicate every single thing.
- 1:54Just by some mysterious reason.
- 1:58Somebody told us we needed these things to live. We don't.
- 2:04I've been following a lot of content, too, on TikTok.
- 2:08And, of course, with my algorithm, I'm getting a lot of that stuff across my feed.
- 2:13Especially stuff where people are living nomadically or they're living out in the woods in just a tent.
- 2:18And that's it. They get by.
- 2:21And they're truly happy.
- 2:24And I keep believing the reason for that is just the fact that they don't have
- 2:30so much that they need to worry about.
- 2:34If I go out right now and take all my money that I don't have and I go spend
- 2:38it on a bunch of stuff I don't need and I bring it all back into my huge apartment I don't need,
- 2:47it just adds to your mental awareness all the stuff that you keep being track
- 2:55of now and then we're always wanting more from there.
- 3:01I could live out of the same clothes for about a week. It's not that bad,
- 3:06as long as I don't dirty them up.
- 3:10Undergarments, probably a different story. You know, you may have to change
- 3:13those daily, but you could get a pack of underwear for, you know, probably $6, $7, right?
- 3:20Why keep wearing the same stuff? You could wear a shirt for days on end.
- 3:26And when you buy the right kind, you could wash this out in the rain.
- 3:30And it's what it resists. So basically it dries on its own.
- 3:36I'm finding all these little things to help better my life because at some point
- 3:42I'm collapsing and I'm shrinking everything down.
- 3:46When it's finally my time to go, I'm not taking anything with me.
- 3:49So why do I need so much to have now.
- 3:54We feel so good. Our bodies are so accustomed to feeling great whenever we buy
- 4:00things that are so materialistic. We don't need them.
- 4:05I think we'll start becoming much more happier when we could sit in a moment
- 4:09by ourselves quietly and retain that moment because we're not worrying about
- 4:15all this stuff that we have.
- 4:19You know, we go out and buy bigger and bigger and bigger TVs.
- 4:23But yet when we use our cell phones to do the same thing, these tiny little
- 4:27things get probably better resolution than the biggest damn TV you have.
- 4:33It's kind of sad when you really think about it, just where we become addicted
- 4:39to all this materialistic stuff.
- 4:45It's not good for our psyche. It's not good for our brain. I've spoken about
- 4:50this before, but I'm going to speak about it again.
- 4:53And I simply want to keep addressing this because I feel it's important we start
- 4:58trying to teach each other,
- 5:00that even if we have very, very little, we treasure that stuff more than we
- 5:06do the stuff that we buy tons of.
- 5:11Because we recognize the importance of having what we do have.
- 5:18While it may be impractical that we all go out and live in tents, but is it?
- 5:25It would collapse this entire real estate nonsense.
- 5:30It would collapse all this stupid rental nonsense with all the rules and regulations
- 5:35you gotta have and pay all this money in rent and we could kick you out at any
- 5:39time and they hold that over your head.
- 5:41We could kick you out, we could kick you out. That's great. It's wonderful.
- 5:45Maybe that's what I want. Kick me out.
- 5:49I'm not very keen on living on the rules when I'm paying so much money to live
- 5:54within something which is basically a box. I'm just in a box.
- 6:00And then I gotta have all these rules on top of it. And every month I gotta
- 6:04shell out more and more for electric and gas and this and that.
- 6:09I could cook fine on an electric little stovetop thing I could pay 20 bucks
- 6:17for, and it works, and it works well.
- 6:20But I could also light a fire in the woods and cook right on that fire for free.
- 6:25I don't even need any kind of cooking utensils.
- 6:30It's primitive, and that's what scares us.
- 6:34But when we look back to when we started with electricity, it wasn't that long ago.
- 6:40It wasn't thousands and thousands of years ago.
- 6:43It was barely 100. I don't know exactly, but 100 years, even if it was 102 years.
- 6:50It's not long, especially on the timeline when human beings have been around.
- 6:57We'd done all of the living that we could have, with very, very little.
- 7:04So join me. Join me on this quest for shrinking down all the stuff you have,
- 7:11getting rid of a lot of materialistic stuff that just does nothing for you.
- 7:18Become more in tune with nature, live outdoors more.
- 7:25Travel around all you like. This will make you happy This will keep you complete
- 7:32It would end this vicious cycle Of homelessness And you know Strengthening the
- 7:38corporations That own homes.
- 7:43I'm happy. I'm happy with no matter what I have.
- 7:48I'm happy with the things that I do have. I'm happy buying stuff at times.
- 7:55But in the end, when I really, really sit and think about it, I don't need it.
- 8:02And I'm still happy. My name's Gary Dean. This is Eye Opener Society.
- 8:07Please join us every Monday for our regular shows with Lizzie.
- 8:11Don't forget our Wednesday night guided meditation series.
- 8:15And we're going to have a lot more content we're going to be putting on here

- 8:21She went from a podcast that's always been behind the scenes with us here,
- 8:25right up to now, I ordained her as a minister.
- 8:29And she's going to We use a lot of horoscopes and tarot readings as her modality as a minister.
- 8:36And we also have Halos Phoenix.
- 8:40We ordained her as a minister because she aligns so well with our mission and our vision.
- 8:48And I feel she's going to have some great things to bring to you as well with
- 8:55our sound healing and the way she thinks.
- 8:58She takes very very careful thoughts and
- 9:01she meditates on everything and i could see that just by watching her
- 9:04when she speaks she's an amazing individual i

- 9:33and we were going to have people, you know, subscribe monthly.
- 9:36We tried with Facebook. But here's the bottom line.
- 9:39All of that stuff is just corporate nonsense and it's very difficult to go.
- 9:43We have to keep giving, you know, more behind the scenes content and more content
