Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 2: What should happen to the Democratic Party?
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on seven too.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Well, what it was today? It's Wednesday already, all right, tonight,
- 0:10Speaker 2: I keep reminding you tonight seven o'clock mayoral debate. Curtis Cuomo, Mom, Donnie,
- 0:17Speaker 2: you know, they don't actually even have to let the
- 0:19Speaker 2: Cuomo in the debate. He's a third party candidate, he's
- 0:22Speaker 2: not a major party candidate, but he will be in
- 0:24Speaker 2: the debate this time. They've I guess, tossed a coin
- 0:28Speaker 2: or something on speaking order. Curtis will go first. That's
- 0:34Speaker 2: not a It's more important who goes last. Although I
- 0:37Speaker 2: don't know if everybody will make it to the end
- 0:38Speaker 2: of the debate. But it's tonight now.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Oh.
- 0:40Speaker 2: The difference is tonight's debate. The last one was Channel four.
- 0:44Speaker 2: It was done in a TV studio without an audience.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Tonight it'll be a Long Island city with an audience.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's a college auditorium. They will have an audience, so
- 0:54Speaker 2: that can change the dynamic a little. Curtis very good
- 0:57Speaker 2: in front of an audience, you know, when it comes
- 1:00Speaker 2: to being in front of our audience for almost a
- 1:02Speaker 2: lot of experience, But Mam Donnie's not that experienced in
- 1:05Speaker 2: front of a live audience. Curtis, the most experienced, does
- 1:09Speaker 2: speeches all the time, so that could help them. Down
- 1:13Speaker 2: in Chinatown, a big uproar. People are all upset because
- 1:18Speaker 2: terrible things were happening. Ice was there arresting illegals and
- 1:23Speaker 2: Democrats in New York. When they see law enforcement enforcing
- 1:26Speaker 2: the law, they get all upset. They do not like that,
- 1:30Speaker 2: and apparently they we're cracking down. Hey, I don't know
- 1:32Speaker 2: if I like this either. They were cracking down on
- 1:34Speaker 2: the illegal vendors down there in Chinatown. Those are the
- 1:37Speaker 2: ones that sell the fake Louis Vuittan, the fake Gucci.
- 1:41Speaker 2: You know, some of that is kind of useful. I
- 1:42Speaker 2: don't know if you want to get rid of all that.
- 1:43Speaker 2: But again, they're there enforcing the law, arresting illegals. That's
- 1:49Speaker 2: what law enforcement is supposed to do. But everybody was upset, angry.
- 1:53Speaker 3: What are they doing to our city?
- 1:55Speaker 4: Shot the citizens New York?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Well, actually where they in the city, cleaning it up,
- 2:02Speaker 2: enforcing the law. And they weren't going after the citizens
- 2:04Speaker 2: in New York. They were going after illegals who broke
- 2:07Speaker 2: into the country who were not citizens. Then you get
- 2:10Speaker 2: this Jamani Williams who shows up.
- 2:12Speaker 5: None of this is about public safety.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It is about fear and chaos. Well, yeah, they are
- 2:20Speaker 2: trying to create fear among illegals. That's why we've had
- 2:22Speaker 2: almost two million self deport already. Chaos would be no
- 2:28Speaker 2: border and millions flood into the country illegally, that would
- 2:31Speaker 2: be chaos. But it's Jimani Williams left wing guy. These
- 2:35Speaker 2: left wing cooks. They hate law enforcement, they hate enforcing
- 2:39Speaker 2: the law. They love illegals for all sorts of reasons.
- 2:42Speaker 2: They don't want to see those. They do not want
- 2:44Speaker 2: to see the immigration laws enforced. Here's one of the
- 2:47Speaker 2: great kooks of all time, Brad Lander. Angry Brad Lander.
- 2:50Speaker 1: There is no excuse for sending military style vehicles and
- 2:55Speaker 1: a national law enforcement responds.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Now, he it's right about that. If you look at
- 3:02Speaker 2: the video they are in, uh, it does look like
- 3:07Speaker 2: a big military view. They look like troops in Iraq.
- 3:09Speaker 2: The vehicle looks like that, and the officers are in it,
- 3:13Speaker 2: says police. On their uniforms and on their vests. But
- 3:16Speaker 2: their military style uniforms, you know, like green combat military
- 3:21Speaker 2: with all the helmets and all this, so they do
- 3:23Speaker 2: look military. But hey, I don't mind it. I mean,
- 3:27Speaker 2: if it's enforcing the law. Remember the riots all over
- 3:30Speaker 2: New York that summer and Cuomo would not send the
- 3:32Speaker 2: National Guard in. That was more frightening than this. So
- 3:36Speaker 2: I don't mind a lot of law enforcement. It's not
- 3:38Speaker 2: a bad thing, but it drives these left wingers crazy. Hey,
- 3:42Speaker 2: in the New Jersey race, it's Chittarelli and Mikey Cheryl,
- 3:46Speaker 2: Mickey Mickey or Mikey whatever her name is, Mikey Cheryl. Okay,
- 3:52Speaker 2: when last time you met a woman named Mikey Mikey Cheryl.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But that's a cute name. But she's having trouble. Chitarelli
- 3:59Speaker 2: has up to her in the polls. It's even now,
- 4:03Speaker 2: so she's called in Obama to help. I guess it's
- 4:08Speaker 2: not that important, Obama. It's not worth a trip. He's
- 4:10Speaker 2: not flying in. He's supposed to fly in, appear with
- 4:14Speaker 2: her at the rally, you know, hold her hand up
- 4:16Speaker 2: in your hand to a big speech. You're supposed to
- 4:20Speaker 2: do that. It's not that important, Obama. He's not flying
- 4:24Speaker 2: in for this, so instead he made a video. It's
- 4:28Speaker 2: like the guy that won't show up to the roast
- 4:30Speaker 2: or the dinner, so he sends a video. It's a
- 4:32Speaker 2: real cheap easy way, takes five minutes, you don't have
- 4:35Speaker 2: to bother. So he sent a video to endorse her. Now, also,
- 4:40Speaker 2: remember maybe it's a good thing he didn't fly in
- 4:42Speaker 2: because anytime he would show up in those congressional races
- 4:46Speaker 2: all over the country. Whenever he'd show up and campaigned
- 4:49Speaker 2: for the person and endorse him, they would lose. His
- 4:51Speaker 2: track record was like ninety seven percent of his candidates lost.
- 4:55Speaker 2: So maybe maybe it's helping her. But I don't think
- 4:59Speaker 2: he means much anymore. You know, he's from another era. Hey,
- 5:03Speaker 2: George Santos got pardoned, Well, he didn't get parted, he
- 5:06Speaker 2: got a sentence commuted. He's still convicted, so he's a
- 5:10Speaker 2: free man and he's out and about. But local officials,
- 5:14Speaker 2: local d local officials now talking about indicting him locally
- 5:18Speaker 2: on local charges. Now, that could put him back in
- 5:21Speaker 2: jail if he's convicted, and there's nothing President Trump can
- 5:25Speaker 2: do about a local charge. The governor maybe could do something,
- 5:29Speaker 2: but she's not, so he still could be in legal jeopardy.
- 5:34Speaker 2: A couple of people in the prosecutors DA's have talked
- 5:37Speaker 2: about possibly going after him to keep an eye on that.
- 5:41Speaker 2: President Trump apparently is being pushed to pardon. Well again,
- 5:46Speaker 2: not pardon, he would be commuting the sentence of p Diddy,
- 5:49Speaker 2: which would mean still convicted. Everything stands. He just lets
- 5:53Speaker 2: him out of jail, but he served two years. Some say,
- 5:56Speaker 2: well that for what he got convicted of, two years
- 5:59Speaker 2: is enough. I don't know, it'd be a little controversial.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You can't keep commuting everybody's sentence. Although with Trump, you know,
- 6:06Speaker 2: what is it ten to twelve people? With Obama it
- 6:09Speaker 2: was a Biden. It was thirty five hundred pardons. It
- 6:12Speaker 2: was out of control. Hey, another thing he's getting pushed on,
- 6:16Speaker 2: you know, with the tariffs. It's been pretty successful with
- 6:18Speaker 2: the tariffs. It hasn't caused inflation, it hasn't crashed the economy.
- 6:22Speaker 2: All those people got it wrong. But it bothers some people.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And he's talking about a tariff on coffee. That's scaring
- 6:32Speaker 2: a lot of people because coffee is very expensive to
- 6:34Speaker 2: begin with. I don't know why people pay it. Like,
- 6:37Speaker 2: if you work here at iHeart, you get down the hall.
- 6:40Speaker 2: We got like six coffee machines in the kitchen. It's free.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I don't know why I have to go to Starbucks
- 6:45Speaker 2: and pay eight dollars for something. But people do, and
- 6:48Speaker 2: it's already very expensive in all these coffee places, so
- 6:51Speaker 2: they don't want the price to go up. Now, the
- 6:53Speaker 2: argument against Trump putting tariffs on coffee, and it's a
- 6:58Speaker 2: pretty good argument against it. Supposedly, the reason you do
- 7:02Speaker 2: the tariffs is to help America, so in other words,
- 7:06Speaker 2: instead of importing, people will buy local and it will
- 7:10Speaker 2: shift everything from foreign imports to local sources. But people
- 7:15Speaker 2: are pointing out that's a good point. Ninety nine percent
- 7:18Speaker 2: of coffee is imported. We really don't make coffee here
- 7:21Speaker 2: in the US. Now. Maybe we should start, and maybe
- 7:23Speaker 2: we could, but we don't really really. Maybe there's somebody
- 7:29Speaker 2: upstate growing their own coffee or something, but ninety nine
- 7:33Speaker 2: percent of it is imported, so we don't really we
- 7:37Speaker 2: don't really need those tariffs. Hunter Biden has spoken out,
- 7:40Speaker 2: I don't know why. I don't know what he have
- 7:43Speaker 2: copes they'll accomplish, but well, I guess I do. He
- 7:47Speaker 2: was making a fortune under Joe with the influence peddling,
- 7:51Speaker 2: getting millions and millions and millions of dollars from shady
- 7:54Speaker 2: companies in the Ukraine, millions from China when on and
- 7:59Speaker 2: when he ran out of that, he started selling these
- 8:01Speaker 2: fake paintings for millions. He made millions on these phony
- 8:05Speaker 2: fake paintings, you know, just a piece of junk, and
- 8:08Speaker 2: he'd sell it for people. Pay you one hundred thousand
- 8:11Speaker 2: for his painting, five hundred thousand. It was a way
- 8:13Speaker 2: of giving him money legally without it being technically a bribe.
- 8:19Speaker 2: It's an old scheme that was used in the Paola
- 8:21Speaker 2: days and rock and roll. That's probably where he learned it.
- 8:25Speaker 2: But that all stopped. You know, everybody's paying a million
- 8:28Speaker 2: for his painting, five hundred thousand for his painting, fifty
- 8:31Speaker 2: thousand for his pay He's making a fortune. As soon
- 8:34Speaker 2: as Joe's out of office, nobody bought a painting. Ever again,
- 8:37Speaker 2: that was the end of Hunter. Everybody else finding some
- 8:41Speaker 2: other way to buy influence. So Hunter Biden got a
- 8:45Speaker 2: pardon from Joe Biden, and speaking out yesterday, he said
- 8:48Speaker 2: it was only because of Donald Trump. He blames Trump
- 8:50Speaker 2: for this. Had Trump not won, I wouldn't have needed
- 8:53Speaker 2: a pardon, But we were so worried about law fair,
- 8:56Speaker 2: about retribution and all. This was his revenge tour. Hunter
- 9:01Speaker 2: says it was clear he was going to conduct a
- 9:02Speaker 2: revenge tour. That's the only reason I needed a pardon. Well,
- 9:07Speaker 2: the other reason he's probably guilty of everything. They probably
- 9:09Speaker 2: it could be a retribution revenge tour. But the point
- 9:13Speaker 2: is you're actually guilty. You know, Comee's going to have
- 9:15Speaker 2: a problem. John Bolton clearly has a problem. They've got
- 9:18Speaker 2: him dead to rights. I mean, there's almost no way
- 9:21Speaker 2: out of a conviction for John Bolton, and it looks
- 9:24Speaker 2: like Clapper will be next. Oh no, excuse me, Brennan.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Clapper is probably down the road. John Brennan, former CIA director,
- 9:32Speaker 2: very very shady guy who was caught up in the
- 9:35Speaker 2: Russia hoax. He was, I mean, just disgusting what he
- 9:40Speaker 2: did trying to get Trump. CIA director John Brennan. So
- 9:46Speaker 2: he testified before a Congressional committee, the Judiciary Committee. They
- 9:50Speaker 2: have now referred him to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution.
- 9:56Speaker 2: As the chairman pointed out, Brennan made numerous willful, intentionally
- 10:01Speaker 2: false statements of material fact contradicted by the record established
- 10:07Speaker 2: by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He made,
- 10:10Speaker 2: according to Jordan, made false statements before Congress. It's a
- 10:14Speaker 2: crime that people have convicted for so they could have
- 10:19Speaker 2: Brennan here convicted. Now you could say, well, it's retribution.
- 10:24Speaker 2: It could be, but if you're guilty, you're guilty if
- 10:27Speaker 2: you did it. It's also justice at the same time.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And remember law fair is when you get indicted in
- 10:33Speaker 2: four cities at the same time, like Donald Trump, that's
- 10:37Speaker 2: law fair. Hey, in Israel, you've got Wick Cough, You've
- 10:42Speaker 2: got Jared Kushner, You've got Vice President Vance over there
- 10:47Speaker 2: trying to settle this thing, trying to keep it calm.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Looks like Marco Rubio will head over there tomorrow. It's
- 10:53Speaker 2: going to take four people now to keep Netanyahu calm,
- 10:57Speaker 2: keep everything on track. But video released yesterday shows things
- 11:03Speaker 2: going on in Gaza, Hamas torturing, executing Palestinians that were
- 11:10Speaker 2: just begging for relief. Footage shows Hamas gunman shooting Palestinians
- 11:18Speaker 2: in the street. First, they've badly beaten man. They beat
- 11:22Speaker 2: this guy so badly, then shot him in the leg
- 11:25Speaker 2: and the Torso there's video of all this, and there's
- 11:28Speaker 2: a second one who breaks down crying a terrorist. Hamas
- 11:32Speaker 2: then shoots him. Israel putting out this video that they
- 11:36Speaker 2: got a hold of saying to the media, we call
- 11:38Speaker 2: on all media outlets to give appropriate coverage to this.
- 11:43Speaker 2: You've shown every other kind of footage, show this footage.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Responsible journalism should shine a light on this problem and
- 11:52Speaker 2: do something about it. Now, if Israel's counting on the
- 11:56Speaker 2: media in America to be fair, that's not a good thing.
- 11:59Speaker 2: It's not going to work. Hey, there's a Democrat running
- 12:03Speaker 2: in Nassau County for District attorney, so they ran commercials
- 12:08Speaker 2: tying her to Zoron Mom Donnie. She's now threatening to
- 12:13Speaker 2: sue the Republican Party. That's how bad things are for
- 12:16Speaker 2: this Mom Donnie, a Democrat candidate, is suing the GOP
- 12:21Speaker 2: for trying to connect her to Zoron Mom Donnie. She
- 12:25Speaker 2: said it's completely fabricated, false, defamatory. She wants nothing to
- 12:29Speaker 2: do with Mom Donnie. She wants no connection to Mom
- 12:34Speaker 2: Donnie and is willing to sue over it. Hey, they
- 12:37Speaker 2: had a big they call it the Rose Garden Club.
- 12:40Speaker 2: This is the beautiful new Rose Garden Terrace. It's enormous
- 12:44Speaker 2: with tables and chairs. It's one of the most beautiful
- 12:47Speaker 2: outdoor dining places in the world. And yesterday President Trump
- 12:51Speaker 2: invited a lot of the Senate for lunch special Senate lunch.
- 12:56Speaker 2: He made a big speech to all of them, but
- 12:58Speaker 2: everybody noticed he didn't invite and Paul. He was left
- 13:01Speaker 2: out of the group, and in fact, during a Trump's
- 13:05Speaker 2: speech he talked about some of the achievements the Republican
- 13:07Speaker 2: Party made while also throwing in again and Ran Paul
- 13:11Speaker 2: didn't vote for this, so they had been friendly for
- 13:14Speaker 2: a while, but apparently that's over a lot of tension
- 13:18Speaker 2: now between between Ran Paul and Trump, and he was snubbed,
- 13:22Speaker 2: not invited to the luncheon. So anyway, don't forget Tonight's
- 13:27Speaker 2: the debate seven o'clock. I have no idea what Curtis
- 13:30Speaker 2: will bring him, but you know, he could bring up
- 13:32Speaker 2: the fact that Cuoma's not really in the campaign. Cuomo
- 13:35Speaker 2: still hasn't opened a campaign headquarters, he's not actively campaigning anywhere.
- 13:39Speaker 2: He does some TV shows, but that's about it. Curtis
- 13:43Speaker 2: is in every neighborhood every week, and reporters noted said
- 13:48Speaker 2: to Cuomo, you know, you don't seem to be out
- 13:50Speaker 2: there on the campaign trail. You're not working in the neighborhoods.
- 13:53Speaker 2: He didn't really respond to anything, but hey, will take
- 13:57Speaker 2: some calls in a minute. Eight hundred three to two
- 14:00Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 14:03Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten.
- 14:05Speaker 5: Yea more, Mark simone on.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Tony
- 14:15Speaker 2: in Westchester, Tony.
- 14:16Speaker 6: How you doing great?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Mark?
- 14:19Speaker 7: I don't understand something and I think you you'll say
- 14:22Speaker 7: it best is you know, if Trump was last there,
- 14:27Speaker 7: he would have put Hillary in prison, you know, ten
- 14:30Speaker 7: years ago. And then Obama comes out and as all
- 14:34Speaker 7: the Democrats do and say it's law there and Trump
- 14:39Speaker 7: getting his revenge. He needs to clean up the DJ
- 14:42Speaker 7: and that's what he's doing, isn't.
- 14:43Speaker 2: He Yeah, yeah, definitely. It's a good point. You know,
- 14:47Speaker 2: when it came to Hillary, he's not a vengeful guy.
- 14:49Speaker 2: He's not a you know, a guy who gets retribution.
- 14:51Speaker 2: This's is not him. He never does that. But some
- 14:55Speaker 2: people thought after that first term was over, Yo, you
- 14:57Speaker 2: didn't do enough to stop these people. Maybe you should
- 14:59Speaker 2: have gone after Hillary. And then this was different what
- 15:02Speaker 2: they did to him and his family. This was total
- 15:05Speaker 2: out of control lawfare. It was imagine being on trial
- 15:09Speaker 2: in four cities at the same time. It was just ridiculous.
- 15:12Speaker 2: So and you look back at that Russia hoax. What
- 15:14Speaker 2: a crazy, insane thing they tried to pull. So you
- 15:17Speaker 2: got to make sure that doesn't happen again. And again
- 15:19Speaker 2: Trump's style is to let it go. But you got
- 15:23Speaker 2: to do something. You got to create a deterrent so
- 15:25Speaker 2: nobody pulls that crap again. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 15:29Speaker 2: how you doing, Good morning, Mark.
- 15:31Speaker 5: I'm doing very well.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Thank you. Mark.
- 15:33Speaker 5: I have two questions about Madami.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Please.
- 15:36Speaker 5: First of all, if you're the president of the United States,
- 15:39Speaker 5: you have to be a natural born citizen. Why doesn't
- 15:42Speaker 5: this law apply for mayor of New York or any
- 15:45Speaker 5: other major city? And the last question is have we
- 15:48Speaker 5: ever learned the results of the investigation into his wealth?
- 15:52Speaker 2: Well, it's coming, it's coming. But the first question, Yeah,
- 15:55Speaker 2: that's just the way the founding fathers did it. You
- 15:57Speaker 2: only have to be born here to be president. I
- 16:00Speaker 2: guess that's because you're conducting foreign policy and we could
- 16:04Speaker 2: be at war with the country you're from. I guess
- 16:06Speaker 2: that's the reason. In the case of a mayor or
- 16:08Speaker 2: a governor, you're not dealing with foreign policy, so you
- 16:11Speaker 2: don't have to have been born in the country. Schwarzenegger
- 16:14Speaker 2: was governor of California, wasn't born here. A lot of
- 16:16Speaker 2: examples the difference with Mam Donnie. You know, Schwarzeger had
- 16:19Speaker 2: been here for a long time. Mam Donnie came to
- 16:22Speaker 2: this country like twelve minutes ago and only recently became
- 16:25Speaker 2: a citizen. So it's a little odd. Let's go to Shelley,
- 16:30Speaker 2: Rockland County. Shelley, how you doing.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Hi, pleasure to speak to you. I'm concerned about exception tampering.
- 16:38Speaker 6: We don't want to take away any votes from the
- 16:41Speaker 6: only good, righteous camp. Some elect and I have a
- 16:44Speaker 6: ceiling that there's going to be some election Tampa.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Well, yeah, yeah, I remember it's New York City. There's
- 16:50Speaker 2: always been election fraud in New York City. Even the
- 16:52Speaker 2: Democrats will admit that to you privately. It's always been
- 16:56Speaker 2: that way, especially Manhattan. They do some funny business sometimes.
- 17:01Speaker 2: But the expert that campaign people will tell you though,
- 17:04Speaker 2: even the fraud, if you're lucky, it's only five to
- 17:07Speaker 2: seven percent, but it means you got to win by
- 17:09Speaker 2: a lot more. There are people saying we should also
- 17:13Speaker 2: you get a lot of illegals voting. There are people
- 17:15Speaker 2: saying an ice officeer should be at every balling place
- 17:19Speaker 2: just to keep things clean. That might be a good idea.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Let's go to Mark and Brooklyn. Mark, how you doing?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yes? Sorry, good morning, walk?
- 17:26Speaker 2: How are you good?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Good? I was going to guess I wanted to make
- 17:30Speaker 3: a couple of comments, and then a suggestion.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Can't come in with the whole playlist? How about one
- 17:36Speaker 2: com We'll see if we want to continue.
- 17:38Speaker 3: All right, there's a fine line between ideology and pragmatism,
- 17:41Speaker 3: and from what I see, even though I would strongly
- 17:44Speaker 3: support course, see what these numbers are just not there?
- 17:48Speaker 2: So well, how do you know it?
- 17:50Speaker 3: Well? If you look at the percentage, says following in percentage.
- 17:53Speaker 2: How do you know? How do you know what the
- 17:54Speaker 2: numbers are?
- 17:56Speaker 3: Well, they're on the radio and on TV.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I know your voting. This poll from Monday, which was
- 18:01Speaker 2: actually done by Cuomo people, and it's a polling company
- 18:04Speaker 2: I never heard of, and again done by Cuomo people.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I wouldn't take it too seriously. I wouldn't trust that
- 18:10Speaker 2: poll at all. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 18:14Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 18:15Speaker 4: I'm doing good? Mark? And yesterday I asked the woman's
- 18:18Speaker 4: comment about illegals and your comment about they busted twenty
- 18:23Speaker 4: four hundred dollars in Texas. They found that twenty four
- 18:26Speaker 4: hundred illegals actually voted, and they're calling for other states
- 18:31Speaker 4: to look into their electoral records to see if it's
- 18:36Speaker 4: going on there. You know, Mondami goes around his big
- 18:40Speaker 4: catch freighter and his big word is affordability. Well, please
- 18:44Speaker 4: let me remind all New York is, as Ronald Reagan said,
- 18:50Speaker 4: government is not the solution. Government is the problem. The
- 18:55Speaker 4: reason why it is so expensive to live in New
- 18:58Speaker 4: York City and New York State these days. Also Jersey Is.
- 19:03Speaker 4: For example. Look on your either landline phone bill or
- 19:08Speaker 4: your cell bill. There's all these charges, nickel and dime
- 19:11Speaker 4: charges for things you've never even heard of. Now, what
- 19:15Speaker 4: the city has did. They've notified all the landlords and
- 19:18Speaker 4: the co op managers recently that we have to have
- 19:23Speaker 4: lead paint inspections in our apartments. And they're very, very pricey.
- 19:30Speaker 4: I've been going around getting estimates. Here's another example. Last week,
- 19:35Speaker 4: the city council, these boneheads who've never ran even a
- 19:39Speaker 4: lemonade stand, passed the law that when you have a
- 19:43Speaker 4: new stove installed in an apartment. You have to have
- 19:47Speaker 4: a master plumber come, not even a regular plumber, a
- 19:53Speaker 4: master plumber come and install that stove. A master plumber
- 19:59Speaker 4: you're talking about just to walk in the door anywhere
- 20:02Speaker 4: from two point fifty to five hundred dollars to do
- 20:05Speaker 4: five or five minutes work in years pasted it. I've
- 20:08Speaker 4: had this experience. If you had the new stove delivered
- 20:12Speaker 4: to the apartment in question, the gas company would gladly
- 20:17Speaker 4: send around a technician to hook it up and to
- 20:21Speaker 4: test it. In five minutes, it's done. Now you can't
- 20:24Speaker 4: do it. And who they're gonna pass that price? I
- 20:28Speaker 4: know I am. I'm gonna pass it on to the tenants.
- 20:32Speaker 4: You want that new stove, you're gonna That's.
- 20:35Speaker 2: A good point. Good point, Vincent, thanks for calling you.
- 20:37Speaker 2: That's affordability crisis, a lot of it caused by Democrats
- 20:40Speaker 2: with overregulation on apartments and buildings and everything. Anyway, Well, hey,
- 20:45Speaker 2: when we come back and Culter, we'll be with us.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Next we'll talk to her about ice, the Merrill race,
- 20:50Speaker 2: no kings, all sorts of stuff coming up on seven
- 20:53Speaker 2: to ten wo r Mark seven, wr Well and Culture.
- 21:01Speaker 2: The best selling offer of the Great Column let's make
- 21:03Speaker 2: sure you follow a Twitter and even better as substack
- 21:07Speaker 2: because on subjects he's got columns, podcast videos, interviews, all
- 21:11Speaker 2: sorts of stuff. Just go to and culture dot substack
- 21:14Speaker 2: dot com and culture.
- 21:16Speaker 1: How you doing fantastic? How are you? Marximon?
- 21:19Speaker 2: Good?
- 21:20Speaker 3: No?
- 21:20Speaker 2: Did I see you marching in that No Kings thing
- 21:23Speaker 2: on Saturday?
- 21:25Speaker 1: Uh? No, I would have brought the average age down
- 21:28Speaker 1: and I can buy about thirty years.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it did look like Halloween at the Senior Center,
- 21:35Speaker 2: didn't it.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's very weird that these I mean, this has
- 21:39Speaker 1: got to be like the Bill Clinton generation and they
- 21:43Speaker 1: really think it's the Summer of love and they get
- 21:45Speaker 1: to have re sex and they're young and good looking,
- 21:47Speaker 1: and boy they aren't. Oh that that ship has sale.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it was more like the Eugene McCarthy generation,
- 21:55Speaker 2: the George mcgoverny generation.
- 21:57Speaker 1: So hey, Charles Manson generations.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Today yesterday in Chinatown Ice rated they were resting illegals,
- 22:08Speaker 2: illegal vendors, and the Democrats were up in arms protesting.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Now is that a good idea? You know, those illegal
- 22:16Speaker 2: vendors in Chinatown, that's where you get the counterfeit Gucci
- 22:19Speaker 2: and Louis Vutan, and do we really want to eliminate that.
- 22:24Speaker 2: We kind of like that.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I would think that more people would be sympathetic to
- 22:28Speaker 1: keeping that than keeping many many other places alleged illegals go.
- 22:37Speaker 1: But I do think it's a little bit different the
- 22:40Speaker 1: traditional canal street vendors they have they have storefronts, so
- 22:45Speaker 1: I don't even know that they're they're illegal. The new
- 22:48Speaker 1: push I gather was from the African selling stuff on
- 22:52Speaker 1: the street, and I do think that that is quite
- 22:55Speaker 1: different than having a store front that that does start
- 22:58Speaker 1: to look like a very peasant third world country where
- 23:01Speaker 1: people just throw blankets on the ground and hawk their goods.
- 23:06Speaker 1: No got a storefront, and to have a storefront, I mean,
- 23:09Speaker 1: I think they're Koreans. The Koreans there, they're probably legal.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know those storefronts in China Town where
- 23:17Speaker 2: you buy that stuff, you got a whisper and then
- 23:19Speaker 2: they whisper it back to you and then they take
- 23:21Speaker 2: you down in the basement.
- 23:22Speaker 1: The goods are legal. Oh okay, but this was an
- 23:27Speaker 1: ice ray. They're supposed to be looking for the illegal immigrants,
- 23:30Speaker 1: not the knockoff Gucci bag.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, just make sure that you're legal and
- 23:36Speaker 2: you can sell it. Right, the illegal part, that's Gucci's problem.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Don't let them worry about it. But right, this White
- 23:46Speaker 2: House demolition, it's happened before a million times with other presents.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Why did they Why did these Democrats get themselves so
- 23:54Speaker 2: outraged they're talking about desecration of the White House from
- 23:57Speaker 2: adding a ballroom.
- 24:00Speaker 5: No.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Also, I like democrats pretending that they care about desecration
- 24:04Speaker 1: after years of them ripping down centuries old American history,
- 24:11Speaker 1: all of the monuments anyone, anyone in American history who
- 24:17Speaker 1: held a slave or did not denounce slavery, which would
- 24:20Speaker 1: be you know, everyone on the face of the earth,
- 24:23Speaker 1: since slavery existed in every country, every place. And guess what,
- 24:26Speaker 1: it still exists today, Mark Simone, principally in sub Sahara, Africa.
- 24:33Speaker 1: But no one will point that out. Perhaps we should
- 24:36Speaker 1: cut off their funding. But no, this is what I mean.
- 24:39Speaker 1: All the Black Lives Matter protests, the ripping down of history,
- 24:43Speaker 1: the replacing portraits, and universities, you know the science room,
- 24:47Speaker 1: it has all their Nobel Prize winners. Nope, got to
- 24:50Speaker 1: take those portraits down because they're all white males. So yeah, don't. Don't.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Oh the orson arson and mostly peaceful protests. Do not
- 24:58Speaker 1: talk to me about desecrat Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 2: So if you're going to get rid of anything that
- 25:03Speaker 2: had a racist past, wouldn't you have to get rid
- 25:06Speaker 2: of the Democratic Party? Since?
- 25:08Speaker 1: Oh yes, let's start there. That's a fine idea.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Hey, tonight is the final mayoral debate, seven o'clock tonight.
- 25:19Speaker 2: What do you think can we stop? Mom Donnie?
- 25:22Speaker 1: No, no, no. The only shot ever, and even that
- 25:27Speaker 1: was a long shot, was Adams that that is a
- 25:30Speaker 1: pure generic choice what you have now versus something much worse.
- 25:34Speaker 1: There are so many reasons to hate Cuombo. I've never
- 25:38Speaker 1: thought he has a chance. Many people hate him for
- 25:41Speaker 1: many different ways. I mean, maybe these will be famous
- 25:44Speaker 1: last words. I don't think it's going to be a
- 25:45Speaker 1: day at the beach if he wins anyway, And I
- 25:48Speaker 1: guess all we can hope for is I mean, New
- 25:52Speaker 1: York City will get worse. The main thing Mom Donnie
- 25:54Speaker 1: can do is make crime even worse out, which seems
- 26:00Speaker 1: kind of hard to believe. But a lot of the
- 26:05Speaker 1: things he's promising he can't.
- 26:06Speaker 7: Do, he will.
- 26:07Speaker 1: He will. As I have childre befoors he's definitely gonna
- 26:09Speaker 1: help wealthy landlords with non rent stabilized apartments if he
- 26:14Speaker 1: freezes rents as he claims he will on the one
- 26:18Speaker 1: third of rental apartments that are in New York City
- 26:22Speaker 1: that are rent stabilized, that just makes the non rent
- 26:25Speaker 1: stabilized apartments more valuable, so those landlords can increase the
- 26:30Speaker 1: rent through the roof. There's a limited supply thanks to
- 26:35Speaker 1: mom dommy, so he will he will be helping people
- 26:38Speaker 1: well like himself. And it is absolutely outrageous, and it
- 26:42Speaker 1: was so glib and flippant to say, oh, you know,
- 26:46Speaker 1: Cuomo thinks that he can he can solve the affordability
- 26:50Speaker 1: crisis by raising my and my wife's rent. No, the
- 26:55Speaker 1: point is he's rich living in a rent controlled apartment
- 27:00Speaker 1: that's supposed to be to help low and middle income
- 27:04Speaker 1: New Yorkers, not rich New Yorkers. But of course rent
- 27:08Speaker 1: control is there is no income qualification in New York
- 27:12Speaker 1: for rent control department. So a few years ago Reason
- 27:15Speaker 1: magazine did an investigation and looked up all these New
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yorkers Manhattan nights paying nine hundred dollars a month three
- 27:23Speaker 1: bedroom apartments. Meanwhile, they have two million dollar homes in
- 27:27Speaker 1: East Hampton.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Yeah, if we had real press, actual real legitimate media,
- 27:34Speaker 2: then everything would be different. They might keep pointing out,
- 27:36Speaker 2: Democrats have controlled every inch of New York for fifteen years,
- 27:41Speaker 2: the legislature, city council, governor, mayor fifteen years of this.
- 27:45Speaker 2: If we have such an affordability crisis, wouldn't make sense
- 27:47Speaker 2: to get rid of the Democrats since they it's their
- 27:50Speaker 2: affordability crisis they've caused.
- 27:53Speaker 1: No, of course, you're absolutely right. Every time I fly
- 27:56Speaker 1: into any New York airport, I think about this. They
- 27:58Speaker 1: are such complete disasters. I mean the scaffolding all over
- 28:03Speaker 1: New York. How long it takes to get anything done,
- 28:05Speaker 1: anything built. And there is there is a theory why
- 28:10Speaker 1: did why did the Access Powers after World War Two?
- 28:13Speaker 1: Why did they become you know, economic juggernauts While Britain,
- 28:17Speaker 1: the leader of the war until we stepped in against Hitler,
- 28:22Speaker 1: became known as the sick man of Europe. Their economy
- 28:25Speaker 1: has just steadily declined since World War Two. And the
- 28:28Speaker 1: argument is, after a while, in any society, a country,
- 28:33Speaker 1: in this case, a city, special interests becomes so entrenched
- 28:37Speaker 1: it becomes like scoliosis. You can't change you can't move,
- 28:41Speaker 1: and you need to just destroy it and start from
- 28:45Speaker 1: start from scratch, which luckily in a way happened to
- 28:48Speaker 1: Germany and Japan. And I don't know how New York
- 28:51Speaker 1: ever gets out of this. It just seems like an
- 28:53Speaker 1: endless downward cycle. I suppose, you know, start voting Republican
- 28:58Speaker 1: and you can at least get rid of the entrench
- 29:00Speaker 1: interests and massive corruption that runs this city so that
- 29:04Speaker 1: nothing can ever get done and the entire infrastructure is
- 29:07Speaker 1: falling apart.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's another thing to remember. In fifteen days, thirteen days,
- 29:13Speaker 2: when the election happens, get rid of Alvin Bragg, put
- 29:16Speaker 2: in the Republican DA, vote for every Republican on the
- 29:20Speaker 2: city council, change the city council. That could make a difference.
- 29:23Speaker 2: But we only got like a minute left. We got
- 29:25Speaker 2: through eight years at the Blasio. We could get through Mamdani, can't.
- 29:28Speaker 1: We Well, what's great about the city remains great as
- 29:32Speaker 1: the people in the private industries. But yes, I agree
- 29:35Speaker 1: with you. People have got to get over forget about
- 29:37Speaker 1: associating those of you who hate the Republicans. Everything you
- 29:41Speaker 1: hate about the Republican Party. This ought to be just
- 29:43Speaker 1: an anti corruption. Vote just to shake things up. Vote
- 29:48Speaker 1: whether now we're in the next election or the next one,
- 29:50Speaker 1: just keep voting Republican in a place like New York
- 29:53Speaker 1: to shake things up if you ever want the bad
- 29:56Speaker 1: things about it to change.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yeah, good point. Well, everybody follow Ann Call on Twitter. Hey,
- 30:00Speaker 2: make sure you follow on substacks. You got a lot
- 30:02Speaker 2: of stuff up there, interviews, podcast videos, all sorts of
- 30:05Speaker 2: things and Culter dot substack dot com. Great stuff and Culter.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Thanks for being with us.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Good to talk to you. Mark Simone, Bye bye, take care.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Hey, Now, don't forget tonight seven o'clock Final debate. It's
- 30:21Speaker 2: on New York One. Now a lot of cable systems
- 30:23Speaker 2: don't get New York One. But I'm sure it'll be
- 30:25Speaker 2: online on YouTube. You'll be able to watch it online.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Final Debate tonight, seven o'clock until eight thirty. It's a
- 30:33Speaker 2: ninety minute debate. Unfortunately you got Errol Lewis nice, very
- 30:38Speaker 2: nice guy, but the most slanted, biased left wing guy
- 30:43Speaker 2: in the world as the moderator. That shouldn't be happening,
- 30:46Speaker 2: but it will. But it's tonight. That's the final debate,
- 30:49Speaker 2: and then early voting starts Saturday. That's right. In three
- 30:54Speaker 2: days people begin voting in the mayoral race. Hey, don't
- 30:57Speaker 2: forget Buck and Clay, they'll be here next right after
- 31:00Speaker 2: the twelve o'clock News with a great show on seven
- 31:03Speaker 2: to ten, wor.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Set Up said on the iHeartRadio app to dou Woor
- 31:08Speaker 5: to hear Mark live.
- 31:10Speaker 6: Set another for Mark's podcast, to hear him anytime.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Now, back to Mark Simone on WOOR. Well, let's see
- 31:20Speaker 2: New York Post website, big new top story. Curtis Lee
- 31:25Speaker 2: what quits radio gig In on air shouting match, Curtis says,
- 31:31Speaker 2: you'll never go back to WABC. Well, listen, this is
- 31:34Speaker 2: in the heat of the moment. Things calm down. You
- 31:36Speaker 2: never know that can be patched up. We'll always find
- 31:40Speaker 2: a place for him here. But again, it's just an
- 31:44Speaker 2: he's and I understand his anger. Everybody telling him to
- 31:49Speaker 2: get out of the race. It's insane. People should be
- 31:52Speaker 2: telling Cuomo to get out of the race. No point
- 31:54Speaker 2: in talking about it now. The most important thing is
- 31:56Speaker 2: tonight's debate. That's the final check after this campaign. Well,
- 32:02Speaker 2: there's another week after this, but if it's going to
- 32:04Speaker 2: turn around, it would probably have to be tonight. Merril
- 32:09Speaker 2: Debates seven o'clock to eight thirty. It's on New York One.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Most people can't get that. It'll be on YouTube, it'll
- 32:15Speaker 2: be online, look for it anyway. I'll be back tomorrow.
- 32:19Speaker 2: We'll go over the debate, we'll analyze it, we'll break
- 32:21Speaker 2: it all down tomorrow. I'll be here ten to noon.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Don't go away. Buck and Clay are coming up next
- 32:27Speaker 2: with an excellent show. And remember, if you can't listen
- 32:29Speaker 2: to this show from ten to noon, you can listen
- 32:32Speaker 2: to it anytime you want afternoon night. Whenever you want
- 32:34Speaker 2: to hear the show, just get the podcast wherever you
- 32:37Speaker 2: get podcasts. So I'll see you tomorrow at ten. Have
- 32:40Speaker 2: a great day seven to ten, wor
