- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, guys, welcome back to the Almost says bath time. Wow, guys,
- 0:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with that because there is a bath
- 0:13Speaker 2: time going on behind me. So if you hear some screeches,
- 0:17Speaker 2: the kids just got out from playing outside in the
- 0:20Speaker 2: dirt in the sprinkler and they're having a bath before naptime,
- 0:24Speaker 2: and you might hear things. Okay, but Heather and I producer,
- 0:29Speaker 2: Heather and I are here to talk Taylor, Frankie Paul
- 0:32Speaker 2: drama because it never ends.
- 0:34Speaker 3: It really doesn't.
- 0:36Speaker 2: The other night, Trista gave you guys some information was
- 0:39Speaker 2: breaking news about Taylor's ex, the ex husband Tate, filing
- 0:44Speaker 2: for a restraining order against her and Taylor's stint in rehab,
- 0:48Speaker 2: which we do have a little bit more update on
- 0:52Speaker 2: the rehab, not so much the restraining order update. So
- 0:56Speaker 2: the restraining order was actually denied. Raise your hand. You
- 1:00Speaker 2: were kind of shocked by this. I don't even know.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I can't even answer myself.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Heather, Well, we speculated the other night when this was
- 1:10Speaker 4: filed that, you know, we did talk about the timing
- 1:13Speaker 4: of all of this being very convenient.
- 1:17Speaker 2: What up Dakota doing it.
- 1:19Speaker 4: It's interesting to see what is kind of being reported
- 1:22Speaker 4: today about this situation.
- 1:25Speaker 2: All right, so you and I will speculate some more,
- 1:27Speaker 2: but first let's go with the facts. So the restraining
- 1:31Speaker 2: order has been denied. This is what the court documents say,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and these were obtained by US Weekly on Wednesday, July first.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Tate himself recognizes many of his supporting allegations are based
- 1:47Speaker 2: on inadmissible hearsay aka rumors without any corroborating evidence. Many
- 1:54Speaker 2: concerns like the children not doing well in school and
- 1:59Speaker 2: expressing se madness which is very sad, will require ongoing attention,
- 2:04Speaker 2: not remedied with an emergency order changing custody. Continues to say,
- 2:10Speaker 2: the court acknowledges that what he is allegedly hearing can
- 2:15Speaker 2: create anxiety. But contrary to the claim that his children
- 2:19Speaker 2: are in immediate danger, this is a new word that
- 2:22Speaker 2: I don't know, Taylor, profers, Do you know that word?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Proffers? Profers that Tate left.
- 2:30Speaker 2: The children with her from June eleventh to June seventeenth
- 2:36Speaker 2: when he went to Iceland. The court cannot find an
- 2:39Speaker 2: immediate or reparable harm as contemplated by Rule sixty five
- 2:45Speaker 2: A and the motion has declined denied. You guys, obviously
- 2:49Speaker 2: we got a little bit into lawyer speak there.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Yeah, profer it's hold out something to someone for acceptance
- 2:56Speaker 4: and offer.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Okay. So basically they're saying that what they think, And
- 3:01Speaker 2: I wonder if this is the same judge.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I'm gonna get the judge that's overseeing the custody situation.
- 3:08Speaker 3: I'm gonna say it with Dakota. Dakota, Okay, I'm gonna
- 3:11Speaker 3: say it's not the same.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Okay. They're saying that he doesn't have much backing as
- 3:15Speaker 2: to wanting this other than hearing rumors. He is not
- 3:19Speaker 2: these kids haven't said anything or he hasn't witnessed any
- 3:23Speaker 2: behavior from her first hand that is concerning. It sounds
- 3:26Speaker 2: like he's seeing hearing rumors, which if.
- 3:29Speaker 5: We were to speculate, Yeah, because the last week we
- 3:33Speaker 5: just did a podcast on how sure we were that
- 3:37Speaker 5: it seemed like Taylor's season was gonna air and now
- 3:41Speaker 5: while I don't think it is, but is this Dakota
- 3:45Speaker 5: Dakota's friends getting in the ear of ex husband Tate.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Well, we did talk about this the other night. Is
- 3:51Speaker 4: that crew who is Dakota's roommate did a live and
- 3:56Speaker 4: Tate commented on that live on TikTok about the situation
- 4:02Speaker 4: with his current co parenting with Taylor and essentially said,
- 4:07Speaker 4: this is not a direct quote, but said something along
- 4:09Speaker 4: the lines of it was good until recently.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Okay. And we also know, and I'm sure you covered
- 4:14Speaker 2: on Tuesday night that recently was her being called on
- 4:21Speaker 2: by the cops.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Yes, we did talk about that about her getting called
- 4:25Speaker 4: the cops called on her, and it was confirmed in
- 4:28Speaker 4: the press that Dakota was the one who called the cops.
- 4:32Speaker 4: He called the cops asking questions about if their restraining
- 4:36Speaker 4: orders were being violated.
- 4:38Speaker 2: By doing what was she dropping them off herself?
- 4:41Speaker 4: No, it sounds like what's being reported is that allegedly
- 4:46Speaker 4: some sort of third party might have been contacted in
- 4:50Speaker 4: terms of dropping off the kids or something along those lines,
- 4:55Speaker 4: or seeing the kid, because there's allegedly she went to rehab,
- 4:59Speaker 4: she missed a visitation with her child and was trying
- 5:02Speaker 4: to make up for it.
- 5:03Speaker 3: That's what's being reported. And you remember when we.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Talked to our legal expert, we specifically asked, does this
- 5:09Speaker 4: restraining order mean that Taylor and Dakota cannot talk to
- 5:12Speaker 4: each other's the ex's family members and member. She told us, yes,
- 5:18Speaker 4: it like that protective order extends, so they're not allowed
- 5:22Speaker 4: to like Taylor cannot talk to Dakota's mom and vice versa.
- 5:27Speaker 4: So that's what's being reported about the cop calling situation.
- 5:31Speaker 4: But the cops supposedly went to her house, talked to
- 5:34Speaker 4: her and asked her questions, and it is being, you know, reviewed,
- 5:40Speaker 4: if there was a violation in terms of their restraining
- 5:43Speaker 4: order agreements. I think it's interesting though, to look at
- 5:46Speaker 4: what was reported today by TMZ in regards to the
- 5:51Speaker 4: Tate Paul situation, because it says Taylor Frankie Paul's ex husband,
- 5:56Speaker 4: using texts about mental health crisis miss new plea for
- 6:01Speaker 4: restraining order. So it says that the custody fight with
- 6:05Speaker 4: the ex husband isn't over yet because after a judge
- 6:08Speaker 4: denied his request for a temporary restraining order, he's asking
- 6:12Speaker 4: the court to take another look. According to online court records,
- 6:16Speaker 4: Tate filed a motion for reconsideration arguing the court should
- 6:20Speaker 4: revisit its decision to deny the tro Along with the motion,
- 6:25Speaker 4: Tate submitted several exhibits, including text messages. He says show
- 6:29Speaker 4: Taylor refusing to disclose why she was receiving inpatient treatment,
- 6:34Speaker 4: keeping him in the dark about a mental health crisis,
- 6:37Speaker 4: and admitting she stopped assaulting boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. When he
- 6:42Speaker 4: records their interactions, that last.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Part sounds like it's coming from Dakota again, but also, Taylor,
- 6:49Speaker 2: can we just like be on our best behavior? Like, Taylor,
- 6:52Speaker 2: what in the world, like if you why in the
- 6:55Speaker 2: first place are you contacting any of Dakota's family members,
- 6:59Speaker 2: Like why aren't you?
- 7:00Speaker 4: Well, this is this is alleged. I know, maybe she did,
- 7:03Speaker 4: maybe she didn't. Maybe it was an even further removed
- 7:06Speaker 4: person and somebody in her camp called them, you know
- 7:09Speaker 4: what I mean. We don't know the details on that.
- 7:11Speaker 4: But what I will say is when he's talking about
- 7:15Speaker 4: text messages about her mental health or you know, things
- 7:19Speaker 4: like that, it sounds like whatever this rehab since was,
- 7:23Speaker 4: he was not notified of.
- 7:24Speaker 3: It, is what he's claiming.
- 7:26Speaker 4: So he clearly didn't know she was going to rehab
- 7:28Speaker 4: or maybe that she was in rehab. And we still
- 7:32Speaker 4: have differing kind of information on how long she was
- 7:35Speaker 4: there was it only supposed to what's being reported is
- 7:38Speaker 4: that she was there for a week. She's been there
- 7:40Speaker 4: for a week. He was there for a week. She
- 7:43Speaker 4: is already out. We really think that she's already out. Yes,
- 7:46Speaker 4: it's already been reported that she is out, and she's
- 7:49Speaker 4: definitely been posting a lot.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Okay, So everybody, I think, would initially have seen this
- 7:54Speaker 2: news break on Tuesday and think, oh, he's trying to
- 7:58Speaker 2: get a restraining on her, a straining order on she
- 8:01Speaker 2: should make the you know, the PR move to go
- 8:03Speaker 2: to rehab. But actually she had already been in rehab,
- 8:07Speaker 2: left to rehab, so it wasn't a PR fix that
- 8:11Speaker 2: the rehab thing. It prepossibly was that she was having
- 8:15Speaker 2: a mental health crisis, went to rehab without telling him,
- 8:19Speaker 2: and that's when he realized that she had left without
- 8:22Speaker 2: solving issues, ended up going forward with I know, this
- 8:26Speaker 2: is all speculation.
- 8:27Speaker 3: All speculation.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, he filed the restraining order and then
- 8:35Speaker 4: we got the news alert that she had been to rehab.
- 8:38Speaker 2: It feels like the normal PR way, but it actually,
- 8:41Speaker 2: in fact is probably the opposite.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Now.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I think something that's worth mentioning is we know that
- 8:48Speaker 2: he wants to get updated custody on the kids, why
- 8:52Speaker 2: file a restraining order? Against her if that's not going
- 8:55Speaker 2: to do anything for their kids situation, Right, does he
- 8:59Speaker 2: feel like he's actually in danger here?
- 9:01Speaker 4: Well, it seems like a judge is not in agreement
- 9:05Speaker 4: with him, if that's what he was trying to convey.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it says today.
- 9:08Speaker 4: He also submitted call logs and text messages involving members
- 9:13Speaker 4: of Taylor's immediate family, evidence he also apparently believes will
- 9:17Speaker 4: help convince the court to reconsider its ruling.
- 9:21Speaker 2: So again, it sounds like I think that he thinks
- 9:26Speaker 2: if he gets a restraining order on her, that the
- 9:27Speaker 2: custody will be dealt with promptly.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Exactly, And you and I, both not being legal experts,
- 9:34Speaker 4: I would agree with you on that speculation.
- 9:39Speaker 2: This is sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Yeah, And I get more
- 9:43Speaker 2: and more confused as to is there a good side,
- 9:46Speaker 2: is there a bad side? Is there both sides bad?
- 9:48Speaker 2: Because Tate has been very non problematic in all of this,
- 9:52Speaker 2: that getting him involved is a big red flag against her.
- 9:56Speaker 4: I said the same thing the other night because right,
- 9:59Speaker 4: like he he's not involved in secret lives and Mormon wives,
- 10:03Speaker 4: their children are not involved in that show. He throughout
- 10:07Speaker 4: this entire filming of the Bachelorette and all of this
- 10:11Speaker 4: stuff coming out. He has been pretty mute on everything,
- 10:15Speaker 4: has not said a whole lot, hasn't done a tell
- 10:19Speaker 4: all interview, you know what I mean, Like, there are
- 10:21Speaker 4: a whole lot of things this guy could have done
- 10:23Speaker 4: and has not done. What I will say is the
- 10:28Speaker 4: spidy sense goes off for me a little bit when
- 10:30Speaker 4: I see the roommate of Dakota doing a live and
- 10:34Speaker 4: the ex husband commenting on it. It all seems extremely chaotic,
- 10:42Speaker 4: and I feel like all of these people involved live
- 10:47Speaker 4: in the eye of the storm and they do not
- 10:50Speaker 4: actually know what life can be like when it's not chaotic.
- 10:56Speaker 4: That's what I truly feel from all of these people
- 10:58Speaker 4: that I do not know personally, but I feel like
- 11:01Speaker 4: they all live in this constant state of chaos and drama.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I can't imagine living like that. I
- 11:08Speaker 2: do it on TV.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I view it in real life.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yes, well it happens on a TV show around me.
- 11:15Speaker 4: I mean, even her mom has gotten, you know, into
- 11:19Speaker 4: the situation. She's also you know, Leanne, we love you,
- 11:24Speaker 4: you know.
- 11:24Speaker 2: We love your honesty.
- 11:27Speaker 4: But she definitely has tried to I think remain semi
- 11:31Speaker 4: quiet through a lot of this stuff, you know. But
- 11:34Speaker 4: she took to Instagram the other day and she posted
- 11:38Speaker 4: a picture of Taylor holding her three kids, and she
- 11:41Speaker 4: wrote in the caption that both dads know damn right
- 11:46Speaker 4: that Taylor's a great mother. Trying to keep them away
- 11:49Speaker 4: from her is only going to hurt my grandbabies. They
- 11:53Speaker 4: love their mommy more than anyone or anything in this world,
- 11:57Speaker 4: and they both know it so well. I I want
- 12:05Speaker 4: to know, you think we don't have a season from
- 12:08Speaker 4: here based on this?
- 12:10Speaker 2: Now?
- 12:10Speaker 3: I don't.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Now, I don't.
- 12:11Speaker 3: That's how I feel too.
- 12:13Speaker 2: And if this was Dakota's plan because he felt it
- 12:18Speaker 2: ramping up, it worked again, which is crazy, but also
- 12:24Speaker 2: plenty of doubt here that perhaps she's just really not good.
- 12:30Speaker 4: If Dakota feels that his protective order has been violated,
- 12:35Speaker 4: he has every right to call the cops and to
- 12:38Speaker 4: check that out, does Dakota.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I want to know.
- 12:43Speaker 4: We should have our legal expert on to talk about this.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Is Dakota in violation of the restraining order by contacting
- 12:52Speaker 4: Taylor's ex husband? Should be wouldn't you think that he
- 12:57Speaker 4: would fall into her camp?
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:59Speaker 3: Taylor, if you're listening.
- 13:00Speaker 4: I wonder if that is, uh, that is something, because
- 13:05Speaker 4: why would those two be allowed to communicate in this
- 13:09Speaker 4: situation when protective orders are granted on both sides.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm assuming that it would also be not
- 13:15Speaker 2: okay for Tate to reach out to Dakota.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Exactly like I would feel like there's should be no
- 13:20Speaker 4: contact whatsoever happening.
- 13:23Speaker 2: It's very good point, very good point, detective. All right,
- 13:37Speaker 2: well this is that, and we'll get back to you.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I'm sure with updates it's not going to happen over
- 13:42Speaker 2: the holiday weekend. But I wonder when we will find out.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Well, remember July eighth is their next court hearing.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Oh goodness, gracious and so and so.
- 13:52Speaker 4: We also speculated that maybe that had something to do
- 13:55Speaker 4: with the rehab stint. Was it supposed to be longer,
- 13:58Speaker 4: but she couldn't commit to that because she knew she
- 14:00Speaker 4: had to be in court on July eighth.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Could has still gone another week, another week would have
- 14:04Speaker 2: looked better.
- 14:05Speaker 4: I said to Trista, there's different of rehab. There's ones
- 14:09Speaker 4: where you don't stay at the facility, you know, and
- 14:13Speaker 4: we do know that Taylor is on antidepressants.
- 14:16Speaker 3: She did share that information.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Recently, so it seems like things are moving somewhat in
- 14:23Speaker 4: the right direction. I would like, you know, what I
- 14:26Speaker 4: said is that I think she needs something more intensive.
- 14:28Speaker 4: I think that she really also needs to break away
- 14:32Speaker 4: from the cell phone. It's getting it's because this is
- 14:34Speaker 4: what is happening now. Her messages and her things are
- 14:39Speaker 4: getting used against her by her ex husband.
- 14:41Speaker 3: He's using them.
- 14:43Speaker 4: You're sharing with the world about your mental health, and
- 14:45Speaker 4: he's now using that as ammunition to go against you.
- 14:49Speaker 4: And so that's part of what I mean is like,
- 14:52Speaker 4: as much as people love and embrace her authenticity, you
- 14:56Speaker 4: can't share everything now.
- 14:57Speaker 2: And the fact that when something happens she goes directly
- 15:00Speaker 2: on Instagram like like a middle schooler and has to
- 15:04Speaker 2: post exactly what's happening in her court life.
- 15:07Speaker 4: She's incredibly impulsive. And there was that one about the
- 15:11Speaker 4: cops being called got deleted. So it's again, it's it's
- 15:13Speaker 4: posting deleting, it's posting deleting. It's like, create a notes app, girl,
- 15:18Speaker 4: Write it in the notes app, don't post it.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Write a book. Write it in a book, write it
- 15:23Speaker 2: in a diary that turns into a book, and it'll
- 15:26Speaker 2: do very well. And if you get off social which
- 15:28Speaker 2: you don't have, like she said, she has to do
- 15:30Speaker 2: it for work, right, and like, I am very protective
- 15:33Speaker 2: of the fact that, like I need my phone and
- 15:36Speaker 2: I need to work, and that is I understand. Nobody
- 15:39Speaker 2: understands better then you need your phone for work. However, girly,
- 15:45Speaker 2: you don't have any ads right now because no brands
- 15:48Speaker 2: want to sign you. So how about you actually do
- 15:52Speaker 2: turn off the phone for a month. You will always
- 15:55Speaker 2: be an influencer that people are interested in watching exactly,
- 15:59Speaker 2: So you take a break is like gonna make everybody
- 16:03Speaker 2: miss you more, gonna make people more captivated when you
- 16:05Speaker 2: start posting again, and it'll work out for the very best.
- 16:10Speaker 2: And then you'll make a lot of money on your
- 16:12Speaker 2: book when it comes out.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Okay, And I don't think we're getting a season of
- 16:15Speaker 3: The Bachelorette.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Anyways, I know, good lord, I just don't think you
- 16:19Speaker 4: can do it because and especially you can't do it
- 16:21Speaker 4: on ABC where it's it's contingent on the ads being
- 16:25Speaker 4: bought around it.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I just don't see it happening.
- 16:28Speaker 2: No, And what how if it were just Dakota calling
- 16:32Speaker 2: the cops and being.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Like she's not she's having another person pick up, or
- 16:36Speaker 6: she's texting somebody about pick up that could have been
- 16:39Speaker 6: excused and probably dealt with. On the eighth been like, girl,
- 16:42Speaker 6: what are you doing? Just text the circle that ut circle.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Well, it's important to say that she was not arrested,
- 16:47Speaker 4: she was not detained, Like, nothing has happened to her.
- 16:50Speaker 2: It's now Tate getting involved in him having an issue
- 16:53Speaker 2: with her. That's what makes the season being like, yeah,
- 16:56Speaker 2: we definitely can't. There are two guys now that don't
- 16:59Speaker 2: feel good about it. You.
- 17:01Speaker 4: I also just think it looks morally on the show.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Why would somebody with this much chaos and this much
- 17:09Speaker 4: struggle with their mental health, why would we want to
- 17:13Speaker 4: see them dating? Why would we want to continue perpetuating
- 17:16Speaker 4: that dating should be the last thing on her mind? Yeah,
- 17:21Speaker 4: dating herself should be what is the main focus. And
- 17:25Speaker 4: I think and I think like this perpetuation of will
- 17:28Speaker 4: she get back together with that guy from the show?
- 17:31Speaker 4: Are they kind of what are? It's like that is
- 17:33Speaker 4: the least important thing at this time. Anyways, like Ashley said,
- 17:38Speaker 4: we will continue to follow this because there will be more.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I'm sure there.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Will be more. And until then, I've been Ashley I've
- 17:45Speaker 2: been Heather Siah.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I follow the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 17:51Speaker 1: on iHeartRadio or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
