- 4:17steel waters. He restored my soul. He leaded me in the path of
- 4:23righteousness for his namesake. Yay, though I walk through the valley of the
- 4:28shadow of death, I will fear no evil. But Thou art with me.
- 4:32Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before
- 4:38me in the presence of my enemies. Thou alltnownest my head with oil,
- 4:43my cup running over. Surely goodness and MERGENI shild quality all the days of
- 4:48my life, and I will dwell in the household the Lord forever, Songs
- 4:54twenty three one through six. Thank you, Thank you, very very very
- 5:00much. That chripter tells us that the Lord is I was shelherd and we
- 5:03don't have to want for anything. I would like to ask my special guests
- 5:11on today if she would like to share a little bit of her testimony.
- 5:16Being that this is triggered reactions conquered, we want to go ahead and find
- 5:23out what were some of her triggers and how she got to where she is
- 5:29on today. Okay, Well, as I was growing up, UM,
- 5:39I was raised by my grandparents or my father's parents. And my father was
- 5:46a truck driver and he was never a right he would damn but he wasn't
- 5:49there. Hey, you can see him physically, but he wasn't involved in
- 5:54any activities in my life. My mother, UM, my mother, and
- 6:00had decided to have her own relationship, and um I was left with my
- 6:04father's my father's parents. So my grandmother raised me from from a child,
- 6:10and I dealt with a lot of issues as far as abandonment issues, fatherless,
- 6:16motherless issues. Also dealt with low self esteem growing up because I was
- 6:23bullied as a kid. I also dealt with sexual abuse. Um I dealt
- 6:29with, UM you know that sexual abuse and UM, well I had me
- 6:39okay, um sexual they liked me. Okay, that ain't it. That
- 6:43ain't happen. UM found that out you know in life, and um I
- 6:48just you know, then I went onto the rough side of that. Said.
- 6:55So, um, I got married, me and my husband separated,
- 7:01and um I had already had a first, a first, I had already
- 7:05had a child before I got married. UM, and my you know.
- 7:11Um, I'll say it like this. My husband became very abusive, so
- 7:15I left him and returned back to Virginia. Um and uh then I started
- 7:21getting into the club scene and a friend introduced me to my Oh you know
- 7:30what, you want to go to the strip club? I said, oh,
- 7:32okay, So I went there and it was kind of it became addictive.
- 7:39So I used to be a stripple. I used to be a prostitute.
- 7:43I used to be a thief. I used to uh lie still cheek.
- 7:48I used to be all those things, right until I had the death
- 7:55of my grandmother. My death and my grandmother happened November the fifth or two
- 8:00I was eleven, and then my uh that was like so Thanksgiving and Christmas?
- 8:05Really when the when, the you know, just wasn't fun for me
- 8:09anymore. And then my father he passed away three years later, two weeks
- 8:16before my birthday in July fourteenth or two thousand and fourteen. Um. And
- 8:20then my mother passed six months later, uh January the fifth, or two
- 8:26thousand and fifteen. So, um, I was sitting in mind, I
- 8:31was God. God. I say this, when you don't think God working,
- 8:41he working, okay, man? When when you don't think God working,
- 8:45he working right, So he started up. He started working on me.
- 8:48When my grandmother she would placed so she had a heart attack, placed
- 8:52on hospice and um, and I had to be her caregiver because my father
- 8:58he wasn't emotionally stable to do that. So I'm carrying a caregiver hospice.
- 9:03I had a cousin. Asked my cousin, I said, okay, I
- 9:07can you teach me how to tach my grandma because she's in the bed,
- 9:09she bed ridden in the hospital, bed in the house. So my cousin
- 9:13came and taught me. Then I got really interested in becoming a CNA like
- 9:16my cousin. So UM then I started did I. After she passed,
- 9:20I started taking CNA classes and I got my certification for that. UM.
- 9:26Up until my grandmother's death, I was still doing drugs. I was addicted
- 9:31to drugs and stuff like that. But um, so God slowly changed me
- 9:37to the person I am today. So fast forward, after my mom passed,
- 9:41I was sitting at my mom's funeral. Man, I heard a boy
- 9:45say to me, it's time for you to write your book. I'm was
- 9:48like looking around, let anybody else see that right, So no, God
- 9:50said it's sad for you write your book. Soon as I got from my
- 9:54mother's funeral, I came home and started writing this book. I'm okay,
- 10:01can you tell us a little bit about that book. This book is an
- 10:05autobiography, inspirational. It is in chronological order from birth up until the age
- 10:11of forty. It tells all the stories. I don't leave out nothing.
- 10:16I don't you know, play cadd I don't. Oh, you know we
- 10:20wanta play this down? You know, I don't. I don't do that
- 10:22in the book. I keep it real in the book. So it chronologically
- 10:26tells the life of me from childhood, from birth up until the age of
- 10:33forty, until my until those three deaths, until three deaths happened in my
- 10:37life. Amen, well, I thank you so much for being as transparent
- 10:43as you have been and letting us know that you don't sugarcoat anything, and
- 10:50the fact that it's all in the book. I would like to know if
- 10:54you would like to share, uh an excerpt from your book. A beat
- 11:00be too, darling. I'd be happy too. I wrote this poem.
- 11:05It's entitle once upon a Time And Okay. The poem is entitle. Once
- 11:13upon a time, it says, once upon a time, I used to
- 11:16think that I had to be perfect. Once upon a time, I used
- 11:22to think I needed your approval. Once upon a time, I thought that
- 11:26I wanted to be in a click. Once upon a time, I thought
- 11:31I had to sleep with you to make you like me. Once upon a
- 11:33time, I used to have self doubt and insecurities. Now I don't need
- 11:39to sleep around, or be perfect, or need your pool or being a
- 11:43click to get you to life Jesus, because I have found a man,
- 11:48and not just any man, that can please me in every way. I
- 11:52found out that I could depend on this man to bring me through. He
- 12:00he's a very special man, not like any mortal man. That man's name
- 12:05is Jesus. Now that I have accepted Jesus into my life, I have
- 12:11no worries, doubts, or feels because I have a savior that can make
- 12:16all of that go away. No matter what I'm going through, I know
- 12:22that Jesus can and will be in my corner. He'll never leave me nor
- 12:28for safety. Knowing that I have a heavenly father that is watching over me
- 12:35night and day is the comfort I have now he loves me unconditionally, and
- 12:41I can call him in my time of need. Once upon a time,
- 12:48I never thought that life would be this great. For this, I say
- 12:52thank you God for sending your son Jesus in the place of my sins.
- 12:58Thank you, Lord for the courage and the strength you have given me dating
- 13:05to rise and to have breath in my body and activity of my limbs.
- 13:09And I am in my right mind. Lord, I say thank you for
- 13:15all the grace and mercy you have given me when I didn't even have in
- 13:20it for myself. Lord, I say thank you for bringing me through the
- 13:26valley of the shadow of death. Lord, I say thank you for showing
- 13:31me the way to a more peaceful existence. And for this I will give
- 13:37you praise in the morning, noon and night. Lord. There are no
- 13:43words that could express how grateful I am. Thank you, Lord, in
- 13:48the mighty name of Jesus. A men A man. That is a wonderful,
- 13:54wonderful poem, and I thank you so much for sharing it with us.
- 13:58And I'm comparing and contrasting. Uh. In the beginning, you were
- 14:05talking about all these things that separated you from doing the things that God would
- 14:13have you to do. Yes. And by the way, the name of
- 14:16our topic today is coming to love yourself. Coming to love yourself, so
- 14:26truly, inside that point we were able to hear the love of Jesus as
- 14:33he has given you the wherewithal and the ability to love yourself. Now,
- 14:39I was wondering if if you published that book yourself or did you have someone
- 14:43else to publish it. I published it myself. Are you publishing company working
- 14:54on? I started off with my company H. Sharich Johnson l l C.
- 15:01But I plan on changing the name and becoming becoming a bigger publishing company
- 15:09johs not just for my books, but tell other authors with their books as
- 15:13well. Amen, Now I see, um LCC. Can you tell us
- 15:20what L B M is. LBM stands for my the three most impetant,
- 15:28three most important people in my life. L is for my grandmother, WITH
- 15:33stands for Lena, the B stands for Brandon, my father's name, and
- 15:39M for Margaret, my mother's name. Okay, thank you and um,
- 15:46yeah, I understand that you have a podcast as well. Yes, and
- 15:52they tell us a little bit about that podcast. Yes, ma'am, I
- 15:56started this podcast like two years ago. It's entitled Sharis on some Moors podcasts
- 16:02and um it. It can be heard on Spotify, Apple, Google,
- 16:07Overcast, UM, Pocketcasts, Radio, Public Verbal, Amazon Music, Audible,
- 16:18UM and the list can go and the list goes on UM. During
- 16:22the podcast, I have five different segments. I think it's fat was a
- 16:26fool, don't I don't know? Tell I got It's called me to keep
- 16:30up with. Okay, So I put my money word and worship. Money
- 16:34Word and Worship is one of the programs. Let's Talk Sunday is another program.
- 16:40UM, Entrepreneurial Corners is another program, and Authors Extra Sunday is another
- 16:45program. And then I have daily devotional up there too. Okay, well,
- 16:49that's that's a lot. You have truly got your hands full, yes,
- 16:56and it's a blessing to be able to juggle all those things and and
- 17:00just you know, do what you you are called to do. So I
- 17:04thank God for that for you. UM. So you're a gospel artist.
- 17:11Let's talk about a little bit about your ministry. Okay, Well, my
- 17:18ministry is Sharis Shawnson Moore's ministry where we build hope and it's in it.
- 17:26It's God gave me this ministry when I was seven He started this ministry in
- 17:33me when I was seven, you know, singing, and I didn't you
- 17:37know, you know, singing. You know, you're a kid, and
- 17:40you don't take it real serious, you know. But the older I get,
- 17:45I see that God gave me a gilt. God all God gives us
- 17:52all gifts and talents. Yeah, and I did not value this gilt.
- 17:56I didn't value the gilt here I had lost the three right. So my
- 18:03ministry, uh, I'll say God has been working that ministry in me since
- 18:08I was seven. But now, um, I have my own ministry.
- 18:14I'm a UM, it's not official, but I'm trying. I'm going to
- 18:18make it official because I'm waiting on this paperwork to come back. But it's
- 18:22five oh through five oh C three, so I can, you know,
- 18:26have it legally, you know. Um. But you know, and then
- 18:30I I do my morning word and worship, you know, my ministry of
- 18:36giving the word, you know. Um. I have a bachelor's degree in
- 18:38ministry. So um. And that was another thing I God placed in my
- 18:45heart to do. Um. And if it had not been for COVID,
- 18:49I'd probably still been going to class man. Um. That was that was
- 18:56uh, that was something that that's something I miss my class and we haven't
- 19:00started a class back up, so you know what, Um, I'm still
- 19:03gonna do the work at the lowis amen. And at this time we're gonna
- 19:10take a break and have a commercial and then we'll be right back with something

- 20:02reactions Conquered with Lisa Hopkins and my very special and amazing guest, Miss Cheries
- 20:10Johnson Moore. We were just talking about her ministry and her ministry. In
- 20:15her ministry, she sings and she also teaches the word, and she preaches
- 20:22the word. So at this time I would like to ask her if she
- 20:26would like to share one of her songs with our listeners on tonight. I
- 20:33will be happy, two babies, Oh thank you, I'll be so happy.
- 20:41Let me go ahead and get this, let's see. Oh oh give
- 21:00me a minute, let me all right, I'll wait, okay, can
- 21:07you hear me? Yes, everything's fine, Thank you as a lame men
- 21:19and in him. And now I'm lost without a call after giving it's my
- 21:32arm when to stop soil, calm and talking my song, I have to
- 21:44roll that I've been rude. Yes, one earth, and I turned to
- 21:52I looked to you. I look to and when all shoot it is hot,
- 22:07helacking strong, I look look TV. Yeah, and when the man
- 22:22load these are all he so long. He look about Mike d. There's
- 22:45no more friding, that sinking to vide, no ball searching for that open
- 22:56door and everyone, oh that I'm taking. That's a my be grid,
- 23:07and I don't know if I'm gonna make it head nothing to do with it
- 23:14my head. I to you, looked to you, oh yeah. And
- 23:26when all of my streuthing's gone, and you liking the strong, I looked
- 23:36to you. I looked to you, oh yes, And when bellowed didn't
- 23:48bellow didn't bellowed you all and you else song and look you oh oh,
- 24:00coming down, I'm coming down, coming down. I'm coming down on me.
- 24:03All the rain is falling. Thank you Jesus. I need you.
- 24:11I need you to send me f take me far away from the battle the
- 24:18f I need you the side on me. Do you. I looked to
- 24:30you, and when my stream is gone, thank you Lord. I can't
- 24:41be strong. I looked to you all a hello, Hello, hallo,
- 25:03Hallo, hall Lord. He look oh Lord, Hello Ollo, oh Lord.
- 25:30Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord. You need to take that mic
- 25:33and just drop it. I can't contain. I can't hardly contain myself.
- 25:40I really feel like shouting and praising the Lord and telling them thank you.
- 25:44But I thank you so much for that wonderful song that is Whitney Houston song.
- 25:49But you turned it into something amazing, something spiritual, something that you
- 25:56can feel. And I'm very, very grateful and thankful for your wonderful voice.
- 26:02I thank you for sharing what God gave you as his gift to us.
- 26:07I just I'm I'm done. I'm just like I just just pull his
- 26:12wig off and just throw it in a song. I heard you say,
- 26:19I look to you when all is said and done, I look to you.
- 26:30So in us looking to God and looking to Jesus, he comes inside
- 26:37of our life and he changes us one perspect one thing about Christian folks,
- 26:45people that are seeking the Lord for guidance, and people that proclaim to be
- 26:51believers of Jesus Christ. A lot of times our people have a hard time
- 26:59with forgiveness. M So, being that you are a minister, I know
- 27:04that one of your most favorite things to minister about is forgiveness. So can
- 27:11you share that with our audience. Okay, y'all's gonna take a dream and
- 27:18after that, look, I'm gonna tell you one too. I know what
- 27:25they saying that. I know they say, who were drinking our air?
- 27:26But inchy Way, who you sound so good, was drying? Amen?
- 27:37Ohn, Um, forgiveness is it is saying it. It is saying forgiveness
- 27:49means you forgive that person in your spirit, heart and soul. Right,
- 27:56yes, But we also had a choice, Uh, if we're gonna hang
- 28:02on to that being mad at a person for something they did to us,
- 28:06or we're gonna hold a grudge, or we're gonna are we gonna you know?
- 28:10But um, I give him this experience, right McGee, this experience.
- 28:15I experienced this myself. So I talked about this experience of showing my
- 28:23cousin that had a sexually sexually abused me. One day, I think it
- 28:30was shortly after their grandmother had passed, and they they came to the house
- 28:37and asked me, um, you know I knew it was wrong what I
- 28:42did to you. He said, I want to talk to you. I
- 28:45said, okay, you know, I ain't think another. So he says,
- 28:48he comes out and says, I don't. I want to say I'm
- 28:52sorry. I was like, good, he said what he said, I'm
- 28:56sorry. I'm asking for your forgiveness of me abusing you when you was younger.
- 29:03I'm asking I'm coming to you an apology. He said, he was
- 29:07sorry, And I was like, you know what, I forgave you a
- 29:12long time ago. I can gave you a long time ago. You know,
- 29:18you don't gotta you know, you you don't have to worry about me,
- 29:19you being mad, having a gloode about it, or nothing like that,
- 29:22because what I had learned, what I had learned, if you hold
- 29:27onto that pain that the person, but that that art, that art that
- 29:32they did to you, you're not forgiving the person forgiven. That forgiveness means
- 29:37completely let him go. Taking that, taking that apology, okay, you
- 29:44know, take it in. You know thriving and for a minute, and
- 29:48you know, and and and and and give it to the Lord and say
- 29:52Lord, you know, you know we should take everything to God. And
- 29:56man um that oh, for that moment that he came to to apologize,
- 30:03that shocked me. It shocked me, But it didn't shot me to the
- 30:08point that I I was cool, calm, collected about it. I ain't
- 30:14even no attitude. Um. I didn't get nasty with him. Um.
- 30:18I just took it gracefully. Sometimes when people come to you and they you
- 30:26know, they come to you, handle things with grace like God handle us.
- 30:30You know, we ain't perfect. Ain't nobody perfect of Hell but Jesus.
- 30:34Okay, so you know, and we can't cast no stones that were
- 30:38living in a glasshouse. So you take it with grace, and you take
- 30:45it and you hold your head up high and don't let that situation or don't
- 30:55let that situation or whatever the case, whatever was brought was brought to your
- 31:02table or ducked off on you affect you for the rest of your life.
- 31:07Because what he had, what he had done to me, affected me the
- 31:11rest of my life, because I became from mystery is you know, it
- 31:15affected my life in that way. But then, um, I just that
- 31:22wasn't mean after a while, that's not me. I don't want to do
- 31:26that no more. It isn't it, you know, any important, you
- 31:30know? And now I wish I had waited until I got murdered and had
- 31:33you know, have relations, you know. But but forgiveness is a thing
- 31:37that you have to take with grace and mercy and show other people grace and
- 31:42mercy like God show us. Yeah, we when we walk around with all
- 31:49that pain and all that hurt and all those things that people when we walk
- 31:59around like that, Oh my god, it's like a whole. It's like
- 32:06a whole lugg it's set on the on your back. And that's the one
- 32:10thing that we should never we should we should we should forgive those that trest
- 32:15pass against us. And it might be kind of hard, it might be
- 32:21kind of hard, but discussing with God and He'll leave you in the right
- 32:24direction when it comes to coming into situation that have happened in your life.
- 32:29You know, Um I had I had to forgive my mom for not being
- 32:35in my mom and my mother and my father for not being in for me.
- 32:38How did forgive a lot of people, and I had to forgive myself
- 32:43and myself, and I said, why am I holding on to this pain
- 32:46that they passed on me? For generational generational pain? Why am I holding
- 32:52on to that? Because what I did, I passed my pain onto my
- 32:54kids. Right. My thing is when you when you, when you,
- 33:00when you, when you have that when you have seeked or someone has asked
- 33:07for forgiveness from you, that gives you a whole new perspective about forgiveness,
- 33:13especially when the person come to apologize. So, and I'm gonna say this,
- 33:17I've had to apologize to a lot of people, I know. I
- 33:21mean, you know, my children, my you know, relatives because things
- 33:25like that, I've had to I've had to apologize myself to the individuals,
- 33:30you know, because that's what God asked me to do. Yes, I
- 33:35had to be obedient. Okay. And one thing I would like to share
- 33:39about about forgiveness, Well, we know that Jesus Christ died on the cross
- 33:45for our sins and we were so filthy and so dirty and so stinky that
- 33:52he had to be um alamed, that was flamed without spot or without blemish.
- 34:00And if he can forgive us for the things that we have done,
- 34:04then we have to forgive other people. We have to go to God with
- 34:07a forgiving heart before we can even go to him in prayer if we want
- 34:13him to receive our our prayer man. A lot of times people, uh,
- 34:20they they they forgive and they still hold onto it is not a good
- 34:27thing because when you holding onto it, you still stuck in the past.
- 34:30That person going on about their business about their business and were holding you were
- 34:39holding the band because we're still mad and angry. But one thing about it,
- 34:44the forgiveness. When you couldgive somebody, if not for them, it's
- 34:50for you so that you can be in right standing with God. So we
- 34:54thank God that he gave us an opportunity in a way to learn about forgiveness
- 35:01through him dying on the cross and him crucified, and it gives us the
- 35:06opportunity to know that that he was that precious and he was that forgiving that
- 35:13we should also be willing and able to forgive those who have wronged us.
- 35:20And with that being said, um Miss Sharife, Yeah, I would like
- 35:25to know if there was anything that you would leave our listeners, what would
- 35:30that be? Love yourselves? Yes, love love yourself. You know,
- 35:40even if that means walking away from someone that you know not treating me right.
- 35:46You don't kept blinders on for them. You kept blinders on for them,
- 35:51and uh you you know you you know how the horses in the stall
- 35:55he got the blinds. You just looking straight ahead like like oh that person
- 36:00like oh here, you know, you know, and then the gate and
- 36:02you run out and then somebody suck upon you and you see that. Okay,
- 36:08run, I prefer that to as abuse. Imorn. You know that
- 36:14you're knowing the science, the red flags that you know this relationship don't feel
- 36:19right on the inside or love yourself enough to know when to walk away.
- 36:22Yes, we have to know our worth, yeah, because it is very
- 36:28important. If you don't love ourselves and people will walk all over us.
- 36:32We have boundaries and may people know, hey, don't cross danger danger,
- 36:39Not that you're gonna do anything to them, but they have to know that
- 36:43they need to tread lightly around your space. So I would like for you
- 36:47to tell people, tell our listening audience where they can get your book.
