- 0:29Speaker 1: you'll get $ 150 in lineups instantly. All right, so there's
- 0:33Speaker 1: a really easy way to look at Ole Miss beating
- 0:35Speaker 1: LSU 32-24 Saturday night. Trinidad Chambliss threw for 363 yards.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Ole Miss jumped out to a huge lead. LSU made
- 0:44Speaker 1: a comeback, and Chambliss made the plays at the end
- 0:47Speaker 1: to win it. I think that's like the simple version.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But if you're Florida, I think there's a lot more
- 0:52Speaker 1: to learn from that game because LSU actually showed Florida
- 0:56Speaker 1: that Ole Miss is beatable. They also showed Florida exactly
- 1:00Speaker 1: how not to play this game. And if I'm John
- 1:03Speaker 1: Summerall and Brad White, there are probably parts of that
- 1:05Speaker 1: LSU tape that I absolutely want to copy this week.
- 1:09Speaker 1: There are also parts that I would like to burn.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Because LSU did some things extremely well. They ran the football.
- 1:15Speaker 1: They forced a turnover. They made adjustments. They raised a
- 1:18Speaker 1: 17-point deficit. They held Ole Miss scoreless for the entire
- 1:21Speaker 1: third quarter. And with about 11 minutes left in the game,
- 1:24Speaker 1: LSU had somehow turned that 24-17 halftime deficit into a
- 1:29Speaker 1: 24-24 tie. That should really get Florida's attention. Ole Miss
- 1:34Speaker 1: is really good. They're undefeated. They just beat a top-10
- 1:37Speaker 1: LSU team. But they are not unbeatable. And LSU may
- 1:41Speaker 1: have given Florida a little bit of a blueprint. The
- 1:44Speaker 1: first lesson, do not start slow. And I know that
- 1:47Speaker 1: that sounds painfully obvious, but look at what LSU did
- 1:50Speaker 1: in the first half. Ole Miss went field goal, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown.
- 1:55Speaker 1: At one point, the Rebels led 17-0. By halftime, it
- 1:58Speaker 1: was 24-7. And Ole Miss had already accumulated 289 yards
- 2:03Speaker 1: of offense, the most LSU has allowed in the first
- 2:05Speaker 1: half all season. LSU's offense, meanwhile, barely existed earlier in
- 2:09Speaker 1: the game. Ole Miss held them to two first downs
- 2:13Speaker 1: and 34 yards in the whole first quarter. You cannot
- 2:16Speaker 1: do that on Saturday if you're Florida. Florida's best path
- 2:20Speaker 1: to winning is not spending the second half desperately trying
- 2:23Speaker 1: to chase Ole Miss. I want Florida playing from ahead.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I want Jaden Baugh involved. I want Aaron Filo to
- 2:30Speaker 1: use play action. I want Ole Miss having to deal
- 2:32Speaker 1: with the crowd. I want Pete Golding having to decide
- 2:35Speaker 1: whether to load the box or leave Florida's receivers one-on-one.
- 2:39Speaker 1: What I do not want is Florida down 17-0 and
- 2:42Speaker 1: suddenly asking Aaron Filo to throw the football 40 times
- 2:45Speaker 1: to try to catch Trinidad Chambliss. That's an entirely different game.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Ole Miss is built to play with a lead. Chambliss
- 2:52Speaker 1: is good enough to keep putting pressure on you. Their
- 2:55Speaker 1: defense can become more aggressive. And suddenly everything you wanted
- 2:58Speaker 1: to do offensively just gets thrown out the window. LSU
- 3:02Speaker 1: spent the entire first half paying for the way it started.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Florida can't afford to do that. And the second thing
- 3:08Speaker 1: LSU showed, run the football. This is probably the biggest
- 3:14Speaker 1: thing that jumped out to me. If you looked at
- 3:16Speaker 1: the final score, you might have just assumed that Ole
- 3:19Speaker 1: Miss completely controlled LSU, but they didn't. LSU ran for
- 3:22Speaker 1: 172 yards. Dylan Jones had 23 carries for 106 yards
- 3:27Speaker 1: and a touchdown. Sam Leavitt added 63 yards on the ground.
- 3:31Speaker 1: LSU actually outrushed Ole Miss by a pretty significant margin.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Ole Miss finished with 426 yards of offense, but 383
- 3:39Speaker 1: of those yards came through the air. That means the
- 3:42Speaker 1: Rebels finished with only 43 net rushing yards. 43. So
- 3:46Speaker 1: if you are Florida, that should immediately get your attention.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Because what is the strength of this Florida offense right now?
- 3:53Speaker 1: Jaden Baugh. Florida just ran for 243 yards at Auburn.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Baugh had 162 of those yards and three touchdowns on
- 4:00Speaker 1: 26 carries. And Florida controlled the ball for 39 minutes
- 4:03Speaker 1: and 16 seconds. LSU showed that you can run the
- 4:08Speaker 1: football against this Ole Miss defense, and Florida may be
- 4:11Speaker 1: even better equipped to do it. I would absolutely make
- 4:15Speaker 1: Ole Miss prove that it can stop Baugh, and then
- 4:18Speaker 1: make them prove it again and again, because every five-minute
- 4:22Speaker 1: Florida drive accomplishes two things. It wears on the Ole
- 4:26Speaker 1: Miss defense, and it keeps Trinidad Chambliss standing on the sideline.
- 4:30Speaker 1: That's a key. LSU actually won time of possession 30
- 4:34Speaker 1: minutes and 15 seconds to 29 minutes and 45 seconds.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Now that's not a huge difference, but it shows Ole
- 4:40Speaker 1: Miss doesn't have to dominate the football to score. So
- 4:44Speaker 1: Florida's goal needs to be beyond just winning this possession.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Florida needs to turn possessions into touchdowns. And that brings
- 4:54Speaker 1: us to maybe the biggest LSU mistake of the entire night.
- 4:57Speaker 1: LSU had Ole Miss exactly where it wanted them. They
- 5:00Speaker 1: had to come all the way back They were down
- 5:02Speaker 1: 24-7 at halftime. They scored to make it 24-14, then 24-21.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Then early in the fourth quarter, LSU drives all the
- 5:10Speaker 1: way to the Ole Miss two-yard line. Third and two.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Tie game sitting right there. And Ole Miss stuffs Jones
- 5:19Speaker 1: at the line of scrimmage. LSU kicks a 23-yard field goal, 24-24. Now,
- 5:24Speaker 1: obviously tying the game is not a bad thing. But
- 5:26Speaker 1: look at what happens next. Ole Miss gets the ball.
- 5:29Speaker 1: 13 plays, 75 yards. Five minutes and seven seconds. And
- 5:33Speaker 1: Trinidad Chambliss runs it in from 14 yards out. Ole
- 5:36Speaker 1: Miss converts the two-point conversion. 32-24. Game over. That possession
- 5:42Speaker 1: is the warning for Florida. When you have Ole Miss
- 5:45Speaker 1: on the ropes, finish. You cannot consistently trade touchdowns for
- 5:50Speaker 1: field goals in this game. Florida was five for five
- 5:52Speaker 1: scoring in the red zone at Auburn. And that's great.
- 5:55Speaker 1: But three of those scores were field goals. Against Auburn,
- 5:58Speaker 1: Florida survived that. Against Trinidad-Chamberlain, I don't know how many
- 6:02Speaker 1: times you want to test it. If Florida gets first
- 6:05Speaker 1: in goal Saturday, I want seven. If you get the
- 6:08Speaker 1: football inside the Ole Miss five, seven. Because you're only
- 6:11Speaker 1: going to get so many opportunities. We're going to take
- 6:14Speaker 1: a quick break from this video to give some love
- 6:16Speaker 1: to our partners over at Alumni Hall. I know you
- 6:19Speaker 1: probably are still in need of some Game Gay gear.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Every time I go to my closet on Saturday, I'm like, oh,
- 6:24Speaker 1: I need something new. What am I going to do?
- 6:25Speaker 1: I'm going to order from alumnihall.com or I'm going to
- 6:28Speaker 1: visit them at their store on Archer Road in Gainesville.
- 6:31Speaker 1: But listen, they want to give some love back to
- 6:33Speaker 1: you guys. They've given us a code. It's PEAK15, P-E-E-K-1-5.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You can use it online or you can tell them
- 6:39Speaker 1: in the store when you go in. It's going to
- 6:40Speaker 1: give you 15% off your entire purchase. They've got all
- 6:43Speaker 1: the brands you're looking for, Nike, Jordan, Cutter & Buck,
- 6:47Speaker 1: Peter Millar, everything you could possibly imagine on their site, alumnihall.com,
- 6:51Speaker 1: or in their store on Archer Road. Make sure you
- 6:53Speaker 1: tell them Allie sent you, and make sure you get
- 6:55Speaker 1: your 15% off. Don't forget that code is PEAK15. We
- 6:59Speaker 1: appreciate Alumni Hall for all their support. LSU got all
- 7:03Speaker 1: the way back into the game, and then at the
- 7:04Speaker 1: exact moment it had a chance to take control, Ole
- 7:07Speaker 1: Miss forced them to settle. Chambliss then made them pay immediately.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And here is probably the biggest defensive lesson Florida can
- 7:14Speaker 1: take from LSU. You have to eliminate explosives. Ole Miss
- 7:18Speaker 1: wasn't killing LSU on the ground. They were killing LSU
- 7:21Speaker 1: through the air. Look at some of the big plays
- 7:23Speaker 1: from the first half. 36 yards to Traylon Ray. 30
- 7:27Speaker 1: yards to Caleb Odom. A 20-yard touchdown to Ray. Then,
- 7:33Speaker 1: with LSU finally getting some momentum late in the first half,
- 7:35Speaker 1: Ole Miss goes 75 yards in less than two minutes,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and Chambliss hits Deuce Alexander for a 20-yard touchdown with
- 7:41Speaker 1: essentially no time remaining. That might have been the most
- 7:44Speaker 1: damaging drive of the game. LSU had just put together
- 7:47Speaker 1: a 17-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. They finally cut it to
- 7:52Speaker 1: 17-7 with a minute and 57 seconds left before half.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So you're thinking, okay, get into halftime, make adjustments, get
- 7:58Speaker 1: the ball in the second half. Instead, Ole Miss goes
- 8:02Speaker 1: eight plays, 75 yards in one minute and 52 seconds.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Touchdown with five seconds left. Suddenly it's 24-7. That's brutal.
- 8:11Speaker 1: And that is where Florida has to be better than
- 8:13Speaker 1: LSU was. You cannot allow Ole Miss to answer immediately
- 8:16Speaker 1: after your offense scores, especially not with explosive passing plays.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Make them snap it again. Make them earn it. If
- 8:23Speaker 1: Ole Miss goes 12 plays in 75 yards, all right,
- 8:27Speaker 1: sometimes you just got to tip your cap. But you
- 8:29Speaker 1: can't give Chambliss a 36-yarder, then a 30-yarder, then lose
- 8:33Speaker 1: a receiver downfield for another touchdown. Florida just watched Byron
- 8:37Speaker 1: Brown throw for 271 yards and three touchdowns at Auburn,
- 8:40Speaker 1: despite Florida sacking him seven times. That should already have
- 8:44Speaker 1: Brad White's attention. Pressure alone is not enough. You have
- 8:47Speaker 1: to get pressure without sacrificing the back end. And LSU
- 8:51Speaker 1: also showed Florida something that I think could also be
- 8:54Speaker 1: important here. You can confuse Chambliss. He isn't invincible. In
- 9:00Speaker 1: the third quarter, LSU brought pressure on third and six.
- 9:03Speaker 1: They forced Chambliss into a bad throw. Jakeem Jackson intercepted
- 9:07Speaker 1: it and returned it to the Ole Miss 33. Six
- 9:09Speaker 1: plays later, Sam Leavitt ran it into the end zone. Boom, 24-14.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Now you've got some life. I think that's important. Florida
- 9:16Speaker 1: cannot just sit back all afternoon and let Chambliss get comfortable.
- 9:20Speaker 1: He completed 33 passes against LSU. He threw it 48 times.
- 9:25Speaker 1: If you give him the same picture, snap after snap,
- 9:28Speaker 1: he is eventually going to find the answer. Brad White
- 9:30Speaker 1: needs to change the picture, show pressure, and drop out.
- 9:33Speaker 1: bring it from different places, move guys around, make Chambliss
- 9:37Speaker 1: identify where the problem is coming from. But, and this
- 9:40Speaker 1: goes back to the other videos that we've talked about,
- 9:42Speaker 1: Florida has to do it with discipline because LSU also
- 9:46Speaker 1: showed how dangerous Chambliss is when things break down. You
- 9:49Speaker 1: cannot bring six and then give them an escape lane.
- 9:52Speaker 1: You cannot have defensive ends flying eight yards upfield trying
- 9:55Speaker 1: to get a sack. Sometimes keeping them inside the pocket
- 9:59Speaker 1: is actually more important than getting them on the ground.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And there's another thing LSU showed Florida that I think
- 10:04Speaker 1: people are going to overlook. Ole Miss can be stopped
- 10:07Speaker 1: on third down, but you have to finish the down.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Ole Miss converted nine of 15 third downs against LSU.
- 10:13Speaker 1: That's 60%. It's too high. Florida can't live like that Saturday.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Third and seven has to mean something. You do all
- 10:20Speaker 1: that work on first and second down. You get them
- 10:22Speaker 1: behind schedule. You create the third and long. Now get
- 10:25Speaker 1: off the field. Because when you let Chambliss extend drives,
- 10:29Speaker 1: Ole Miss is dangerous. One of their first scoring drives
- 10:32Speaker 1: was 12 plays. The next was 11 plays. The winning
- 10:35Speaker 1: drive was 13 plays. This offense is not just explosives.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And that's, I think, the scary part. They can hit
- 10:42Speaker 1: you for 30. But they also have enough patience to
- 10:45Speaker 1: just go 13 plays in 75 yards if that's what
- 10:48Speaker 1: they need to do. So Florida has to take away both.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Take away the big play and finish on third down.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Now let's flip it back to the offense. Because I
- 10:56Speaker 1: think LSU also showed us something that should give Aaron
- 10:58Speaker 1: Filo some confidence. Ole Miss gave up 24 points despite
- 11:02Speaker 1: LSU only getting 158 passing yards from Sam Levitt. LSU
- 11:07Speaker 1: did not have to throw for 350 yards to make
- 11:08Speaker 1: this a game. They threw for 158. They ran the football.
- 11:12Speaker 1: They converted nine of 17 third downs. They converted two
- 11:15Speaker 1: of three fourth downs. And they were standing at the
- 11:18Speaker 1: Ole Miss two-yard line with a chance to take the
- 11:20Speaker 1: lead in the fourth quarter. That is probably Florida's formula.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Aaron Filo does not need to out-duel Trinidad Chambliss statistically.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I don't think he can. He doesn't need 400 yards.
- 11:31Speaker 1: He doesn't need four touchdowns. Florida just needs him to
- 11:33Speaker 1: be efficient. Convert third down. Hit the throws Ole Miss
- 11:36Speaker 1: gives you. Take care of the football. And when Ole
- 11:39Speaker 1: Miss decides it's going to sell out to stop ball,
- 11:42Speaker 1: then hurt them. Because if Florida can run the football
- 11:45Speaker 1: anywhere close to the way LSU did, and especially the
- 11:48Speaker 1: way Florida did against Auburn, Ole Miss is going to
- 11:50Speaker 1: have to start committing more bodies to the box. That's
- 11:53Speaker 1: where Dallas Wilson becomes important and BB3 becomes important. That's
- 11:56Speaker 1: where the tight ends come in. And eventually, Philo is
- 11:59Speaker 1: going to get a one-on-one matchup that Florida has to win.
- 12:02Speaker 1: There's one final lesson from LSU's loss that I think
- 12:05Speaker 1: matters more than anything. You cannot just get back into
- 12:08Speaker 1: the game against LSU. You have to finish them. LSU
- 12:12Speaker 1: did the hard part. They were dead. They were down 24-7.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Ole Miss had all the momentum. The crowd was going crazy.
- 12:18Speaker 1: And LSU completely flipped the game. 17 unanswered points. Interception. Touchdown.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Another touchdown. Field goal. Tie game. Ole Miss went in
- 12:27Speaker 1: the entire third quarter without scoring. And then when the
- 12:30Speaker 1: game got tight, Trinidad Chambliss responded. 13 plays. 75 yards. Touchdown.
- 12:36Speaker 1: And when LSU got one final chance and drove all
- 12:39Speaker 1: the way to the Ole Miss six, fourth and six,
- 12:42Speaker 1: Levitt's pass gets tipped, intercepted in the end zone, game over.
- 12:46Speaker 1: That's what good teams do. And if Florida wants to
- 12:48Speaker 1: show that this program has taken another step, then that's
- 12:51Speaker 1: what Florida has to do Saturday. Not just compete, not
- 12:55Speaker 1: just make it interesting, not just prove that you belong
- 12:58Speaker 1: in the same field with a top 10 opponent. When
- 13:01Speaker 1: you get your opportunity, you take it. So if John
- 13:04Speaker 1: Summerall is watching LSU Ole Miss, and I am sure
- 13:07Speaker 1: he's going to, my takeaway is pretty encouraging. Ole Miss
- 13:11Speaker 1: can be run on. Their offense can be slowed down.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Chambliss can turn the ball over. You can come back
- 13:16Speaker 1: if they get ahead. LSU proved all of those things.
- 13:19Speaker 1: But LSU also showed Florida the consequences of the little mistakes.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Starting slowly, allowing explosive passes, giving up a touchdown right
- 13:28Speaker 1: before halftime, settling for three at the two-yard line, failing
- 13:31Speaker 1: to get off the field on third down, and then
- 13:33Speaker 1: allowing Chambliss to make the defining play of the game
- 13:36Speaker 1: when everything was on the line. Florida doesn't have to
- 13:39Speaker 1: reinvent football on Saturday. Run Jaden Ball. Keep Aaron Filo comfortable.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Make Ole Miss defend long drives. Eliminate the explosives. Make
- 13:47Speaker 1: Chambliss earn every single yard. Get off the field on
- 13:50Speaker 1: third down. And when Florida gets into scoring position, score touchdowns,
- 13:54Speaker 1: not field goals. LSU gave Florida the blueprint. They just
- 13:59Speaker 1: didn't finish the job. Now we get to find out
- 14:02Speaker 1: this week whether Florida can take that blueprint and take
- 14:05Speaker 1: it a step further, and they can finish the job.
