  - Hello, and welcome to today's daily prayer.

  - Today's prayer focus is dealing with what happens
• 1:00
  - if God's peace is the answer that we've
• 1:03
  - been looking
• 1:05
  - for. You know, often we
• 1:07
  - expect God's guidance to come dramatically,
• 1:11
  - but
• 1:12
  - many times his answer comes quietly
• 1:16
  - in the form of peace.
• 1:18
  - And the scripture that comes to mind
• 1:21
  - is dealing with the prophet Elijah
• 1:24
  - who was emotionally tapped out,
• 1:26
  - and he was under great stress
• 1:28
  - and
• 1:29
  - needed to be emotionally,
• 1:32
  - replenished, if you will, and needed some guidance
• 1:34
  - from God. He needed some answers.
• 1:37
  - And the scripture says that
• 1:39
  - after the earthquake, a fire,
• 1:42
  - but the Lord was not in the fire.
• 1:44
  - And after the fire,
• 1:46
  - a still
• 1:47
  - small
• 1:48
  - voice.
• 1:50
  - And it was so when Elijah heard it
• 1:52
  - that he wrapped his face in his mantle,
• 1:55
  - which was a shawl,
• 1:56
  - and went out and stood in the entering
• 2:00
  - of the cave.

  - Now
• 2:04
  - I'm sure that you would agree that there
• 2:06
  - have been times
• 2:08
  - that,
• 2:10
  - like the prophet Elijah,
• 2:12
  - we have faced some immense things
• 2:15
  - that
• 2:16
  - we were emotionally in turmoil,
• 2:19
  - emotionally
• 2:20
  - tapped out, spiritually
• 2:22
  - tapped out, and almost to the point of
• 2:24
  - flatlining.
• 2:25
  - And
• 2:26
  - maybe felt like, god, if you do not
• 2:29
  - come,
• 2:30
  - I'm just not going to make it.
• 2:33
  - And because we're feeling emotionally and spiritually
• 2:36
  - volatile,
• 2:37
  - we think that god should be emotionally
• 2:40
  - and spiritually volatile to match our emotion.
• 2:43
  - But what's fascinating is
• 2:48
  - that God is always the perfect gentleman,
• 2:51
  - and he's not going to
• 2:54
  - talk above you. Right? If you're talking to
• 2:57
  - someone,
• 2:59
  - you have to wait for them to stop
• 3:00
  - talking so that you can talk. Right? Otherwise,
• 3:04
  - you guys are gonna be having a shouting
• 3:05
  - match.
• 3:07
  - But the scripture says that
• 3:11
  - it didn't come
• 3:13
  - for Elijah in the form of an earthquake,
• 3:17
  - but it did catch his attention.
• 3:20
  - It wasn't in the fire,
• 3:22
  - but the fire
• 3:23
  - captured
• 3:25
  - his his his thought process for a moment.
• 3:28
  - It gave him something different to look at.
• 3:33
  - But it was in the soft, still voice
• 3:37
  - that he found his answer.
• 3:40
  - A lot of times,
• 3:42
  - we can't hear God because
• 3:44
  - our emotions
• 3:46
  - are tumultuous like the waves of the sea.
• 3:50
  - We have to capture and bridle
• 3:53
  - our mind and our emotions.
• 3:56
  - And then God's
• 3:59
  - answer for us can be heard
• 4:02
  - clearly,
• 4:03
  - which will give us the peace we've been
• 4:04
  - looking for.
• 4:07
  - That being said,
• 4:09
  - let's pray.
• 4:12
  - Heavenly father,
• 4:13
  - thank you for being a god and a
• 4:16
  - father who leads with wisdom,
• 4:19
  - truth, and peace.
• 4:21
  - Teach us to recognize the
• 4:23
  - peace that comes from your presence
• 4:26
  - and trust it when we find
• 4:29
  - it. Help us seek you first in every
• 4:32
  - decision and rely on your word as our
• 4:35
  - foundation.
• 4:37
  - Let prayer become the place where confusion gives
• 4:39
  - way to clarity
• 4:41
  - and fear gives way to faith.
• 4:44
  - Today, we trust you to guide us
• 4:47
  - one day
• 4:48
  - and one decision
• 4:50
  - at a time.
