Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: The SmackDown sweep is complete. Yeah, I said this on
- 0:04Speaker 1: the podcast this week, and I said, you know, something
- 0:08Speaker 1: I noticed over the course of this past week is
- 0:10Speaker 1: that there is not a single SmackDown star who was
- 0:13Speaker 1: advanced in either the King of the Ring or the
- 0:15Speaker 1: Queen of the Ring tournament. And surely on SmackDown this
- 0:19Speaker 1: week there would be at least one SmackDown name that
- 0:23Speaker 1: would move on into the next round. Well, I got
- 0:27Speaker 1: good news and I got bad news. What do you
- 0:29Speaker 1: want for? I'll give you the good news first. The
- 0:32Speaker 1: good news is we actually did have one SmackDown name
- 0:34Speaker 1: move on to the semi finals, and that is in
- 0:36Speaker 1: the Queen of the Ring and that is Charlotte Flair.
- 0:39Speaker 1: She will be wrestling Live Morgan next week in the
- 0:42Speaker 1: second round of the tournament. So at least they got
- 0:44Speaker 1: one right. But then we had the King of the
- 0:47Speaker 1: Ring in the main event tonight, the final four way
- 0:50Speaker 1: on the men's side, and we had jay Usso we
- 0:52Speaker 1: had La Night, We had Royce Keys, and we had
- 0:55Speaker 1: Finn Balor or shall I say Pinbalor making his SmackDown
- 0:59Speaker 1: day tonight on the show. This was kind of like
- 1:02Speaker 1: his rebirth here on a new show, and there were
- 1:06Speaker 1: two options here. You had Finn Balor, you had Royce Keys.
- 1:12Speaker 1: You want to go with Royce Keys, I understand it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Royce Keys is the new guy on the block, and
- 1:18Speaker 1: so you want to give him a little bit of
- 1:19Speaker 1: a push. You maybe move him along here in the
- 1:21Speaker 1: King of the Ring. Great. I got no problem with that.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Finn Balor winning, I got no problem with it. He's
- 1:26Speaker 1: not going to win the tournament, but you know what,
- 1:28Speaker 1: it's his first night on smack Down. Is a full
- 1:30Speaker 1: time SmackDown guy. At least send him into the next round, right,
- 1:34Speaker 1: Finn Balor against Javon Evans, I could get behind that,
- 1:37Speaker 1: Royce Keys against Javon Evans, I could get behind that.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Wwe had one job tonight, one job. Their only job.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Send one person, one person, one man from SmackDown into
- 1:52Speaker 1: the next round so that SmackDown does not come away
- 1:56Speaker 1: looking completely inept. They had one job. They failed. Not
- 2:04Speaker 1: only is Royce Keys and Finn Baller not moving on
- 2:06Speaker 1: to the next round of this tournament, but La Knight
- 2:10Speaker 1: of course, ah ah, all of you thought La Knight
- 2:14Speaker 1: was going to move on to the tournament. I don't
- 2:16Speaker 1: know what you were thinking or what you were smoking
- 2:19Speaker 1: moving on to this tournament. Into the next round is
- 2:22Speaker 1: jay Usso. Everybody give me a ye yea four letters
- 2:31Speaker 1: one word. Ahuh ye. He'll be yeating his way into
- 2:35Speaker 1: the next round to wrestle Javon Evans and quite possibly
- 2:38Speaker 1: maybe yeating his way into the finals. And then I
- 2:42Speaker 1: guess the only question is do they actually do the
- 2:44Speaker 1: unthinkable and have him yeat his way into a crown
- 2:48Speaker 1: at the end of this tournament. I would sit here
- 2:51Speaker 1: and tell you that that's not going to happen, but
- 2:53Speaker 1: you know what, with this writing crew, anything's possible. They
- 2:57Speaker 1: went with the least interesting option. They went with the
- 3:00Speaker 1: least interesting winner in the main event tonight. I mean,
- 3:03Speaker 1: I would expect nothing less out of these people, but
- 3:06Speaker 1: that's what we were left with. At the end of
- 3:08Speaker 1: SmackDown tonight. Jay Usso will wrestle Javon Evans. I don't
- 3:13Speaker 1: know if that's going to happen this coming Monday on raw.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I don't know if they mentioned that or not, but
- 3:17Speaker 1: that will be taking place in the second round of
- 3:19Speaker 1: this tournament. This is what the brat, not that it
- 3:21Speaker 1: matters anymore, but this is what the bracket look like
- 3:25Speaker 1: coming into the night, so you can kind of fit
- 3:27Speaker 1: jay Usso's picture there. And this is what we're looking
- 3:29Speaker 1: at here. We have Obafemi and Dominic Mysterio on the
- 3:33Speaker 1: left side, and on the right side we have Evans
- 3:36Speaker 1: and jay Usso. And I gotta tell you, the only
- 3:39Speaker 1: combination of names here that even reasonably interests me would
- 3:44Speaker 1: be an Oba Femi Javon Evans final because Oba Femi
- 3:48Speaker 1: and Javon Evans actually had some kick ass matches together
- 3:50Speaker 1: in NXT. I could get behind that match, even though
- 3:54Speaker 1: the outcome is highly predictable. That's the only match I'm
- 3:59Speaker 1: looking at here even potentially that interests me, and the
- 4:03Speaker 1: chances of us getting that match are probably very very slim.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I don't know where we went wrong here in this tournament.
- 4:10Speaker 1: There was a lot of potential here in this King
- 4:12Speaker 1: of the Ring tournament. I actually like the fact that
- 4:15Speaker 1: Javon kind of got the unpredictable win on Monday night.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I was not a fan of dom going on to
- 4:21Speaker 1: the semi finals last week. Not a fan of that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: But I look at some of the name and there's
- 4:26Speaker 1: a lot of names that are missing from this tournament.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But I look at what we have here and I'm like,
- 4:30Speaker 1: there's just so much wasted potential to really put together
- 4:35Speaker 1: some fun matches here in this tournament, and they just
- 4:39Speaker 1: pissed it all away. Now, one thing that I made
- 4:42Speaker 1: mention of the other night on TNT, and I think
- 4:44Speaker 1: I mentioned this on the Young Crown Wrestling show as well,
- 4:48Speaker 1: is that perhaps, and again I'm giving them a little
- 4:51Speaker 1: too much credit here, but just bear with me, perhaps
- 4:54Speaker 1: we could be looking at a situation where they want
- 4:57Speaker 1: to make this thing really ultra and maybe the winner
- 5:01Speaker 1: of the King of the Ring is somebody who we
- 5:02Speaker 1: don't even see in that bracket. Maybe the winner of
- 5:06Speaker 1: the King of the Ring is somebody like a drumacintyre
- 5:10Speaker 1: or Randy Orton or a Cmpunk or somebody who's currently
- 5:13Speaker 1: on the sidelines, likely on their way back soon, and
- 5:16Speaker 1: maybe they shoot some sort of injury angle heading into
- 5:20Speaker 1: the finals and then they slot that other person in there,
- 5:23Speaker 1: and that person goes on to win the craze. Is
- 5:26Speaker 1: it a cheap cop out way to kind of work
- 5:28Speaker 1: somebody in there at the very end? Sure, but it
- 5:31Speaker 1: was something that I floated, and honestly, looking at what
- 5:34Speaker 1: we're left with here, I'm not against that idea at all,
- 5:39Speaker 1: I would be okay with it. Depending on who the
- 5:41Speaker 1: person is, I think I would be okay with that.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I don't know what they're gonna do. I don't know
- 5:49Speaker 1: what they're gonna do. And frankly, my interest level in
- 5:52Speaker 1: this tournament has only gone down as the tournament has progressed. Normally,
- 5:58Speaker 1: with these things, you wanted to go up, but in
- 6:00Speaker 1: this case it seems to be regressing and going in
- 6:03Speaker 1: the opposite direction. This is the Queen of the Ring bracket. Again.
- 6:06Speaker 1: This is prior to the match we had tonight. What
- 6:11Speaker 1: a match. I'm gonna talk about that here in a second.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I was not a fan of that match. But this
- 6:16Speaker 1: is what we have here. We have Live Morgan is
- 6:18Speaker 1: gonna be wrestling Charlotte Flair SmackDown Got One that's gonna
- 6:24Speaker 1: be taking place next Friday. On the other side of
- 6:27Speaker 1: the bracket, we have EO Sky going one on one
- 6:30Speaker 1: with Raquel Rodriguez, which, again, it could go either way.
- 6:33Speaker 1: They could very well be leading us into an all
- 6:36Speaker 1: Judgment Day final, which again I think would just be
- 6:39Speaker 1: the least interesting path to take here in this tournament.
- 6:42Speaker 1: That is not a match that you need. The King
- 6:44Speaker 1: of the ring or Queen of the ring in this case.
- 6:46Speaker 1: To get to you could do live in Raquel outside
- 6:49Speaker 1: of the tournament. Hopefully EO will at least make it
- 6:52Speaker 1: to the finals, if not win the entire thing. But again,
- 6:55Speaker 1: my interest level in these tournaments has just plummeted to
- 6:58Speaker 1: next to nothing. I just I can barely bring myself
- 7:02Speaker 1: to care. I don't know why this is so hard,
- 7:07Speaker 1: I really don't, But at least tonight we had the
- 7:11Speaker 1: correct outcome when it comes to the Queen of the
- 7:14Speaker 1: Ring stuff, although I don't know what the fuck happened
- 7:16Speaker 1: in that match. Next week we're gonna be getting a
- 7:21Speaker 1: WWE Championship match. I will not be here live for it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: For those of you who will be tuning in live,
- 7:27Speaker 1: we'll see Cody Roads defending his championship against Gunther. And tonight,
- 7:30Speaker 1: Gunther was to choose the stipulation for that match. I
- 7:34Speaker 1: guess because he got screwed in his last match they gave.
- 7:36Speaker 1: They gave him the opportunity to pick the stip and
- 7:39Speaker 1: so what he decided to do is pick a special
- 7:41Speaker 1: guest referee, and the special guest referee for that match
- 7:45Speaker 1: will be none other than the last good guy, Sammy's Ain,
- 7:50Speaker 1: And I will say this, of everything that took place
- 7:52Speaker 1: on this show tonight, and really what's been going on
- 7:55Speaker 1: on SmackDown for several weeks now, the Sammy's Ain story,
- 7:59Speaker 1: the Sammy's Ain character arc, has been the most interesting,
- 8:03Speaker 1: most compelling part of SmackDown. If I had to pick
- 8:06Speaker 1: one thing, tonight was no different. The best parts of
- 8:09Speaker 1: the show really involved the Cody and Sammy's story. Gunther
- 8:13Speaker 1: he never even came out in front of the live crowd.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I'm not even sure if he was there. Maybe he
- 8:18Speaker 1: wasn't even there live, I don't know, but him aside,
- 8:23Speaker 1: and again you talk about somebody who's lost a lot
- 8:25Speaker 1: of his aura recently, but Cody and Sammy and the
- 8:29Speaker 1: story they've been telling with those two has really been
- 8:33Speaker 1: carrying this show. For me. It's the single most interesting storyline,
- 8:37Speaker 1: the single most interesting thing that is happening on these shows,
- 8:41Speaker 1: which is quite the turnaround, because you know, as I
- 8:43Speaker 1: was sitting here reviewing these SmackDown shows even just a
- 8:45Speaker 1: few months ago, I was talking about Sammy's Ain and
- 8:48Speaker 1: how he just was It's kind of like La Knight
- 8:50Speaker 1: in that interview he did with Chris Van Vliet when
- 8:52Speaker 1: he said that he felt like he was or is
- 8:55Speaker 1: a man without a country, right, and he just didn't
- 8:58Speaker 1: have anything to really sink his teeth. He had no story,
- 9:01Speaker 1: he had no direction. That was Sammy's Ain a few
- 9:04Speaker 1: months ago, and he just got very boring. All he
- 9:08Speaker 1: was doing on TV was bitching and moaning about you know,
- 9:10Speaker 1: how he knows he can do it. He could be
- 9:12Speaker 1: the world champion and things are going his way, and
- 9:15Speaker 1: I'm like, man, this guy, it's fucking depressing to watch
- 9:18Speaker 1: him on the show. But then again, watching SmackDown itself
- 9:20Speaker 1: is depressing. I mean, look at Johnny Gargano every week.
- 9:23Speaker 1: He's depressed every week. But now, all of a sudden,
- 9:26Speaker 1: just a few months later, and because the crowd started
- 9:29Speaker 1: to react a little bit differently to him, and I
- 9:31Speaker 1: think they just kind of ran with it. Sammy is
- 9:34Speaker 1: more interesting now than he's been probably in over a year.
- 9:38Speaker 1: So thankfully we at least have that to sort of
- 9:41Speaker 1: hang on to right now. I am interested to see
- 9:43Speaker 1: where that goes. The match next week with the two
- 9:46Speaker 1: of them for the championship is going to be commercial free,
- 9:50Speaker 1: just kind of nice. But outside of the Samy's Ain stuff,
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'll say this, I thought the King of the Ring
- 9:56Speaker 1: match in the main event tonight was it was good.
- 10:00Speaker 1: They had a good match. The Ray Phoenix match tonight
- 10:04Speaker 1: with Axiom was sad, which is not to say that
- 10:08Speaker 1: there wasn't good stuff in the match. I thought when
- 10:10Speaker 1: it was over they also had a good match. It
- 10:13Speaker 1: was sad because I would say for a good ninety
- 10:16Speaker 1: percent of that match tonight, nobody gave a shit. Ray
- 10:20Speaker 1: Phoenix came out. He's got the Triple A Cruiserweight Championship
- 10:23Speaker 1: that he just won from Laredo Kid right like a
- 10:26Speaker 1: week ago, two weeks ago, and he was defending it
- 10:30Speaker 1: toennight against Axiom. Nobody cared. He came out, Nobody cared.
- 10:35Speaker 1: The bell rang, nobody cared. These guys are working, they're
- 10:38Speaker 1: going back and forth. Nobody cared now, thankfully, as the
- 10:43Speaker 1: match kind of built to the final, I don't know,
- 10:45Speaker 1: ninety seconds or so, they did some big moves and
- 10:48Speaker 1: the fans kind of got into a little bit. Phoenix
- 10:51Speaker 1: picked up the win, and I'm just like, I'm looking
- 10:54Speaker 1: at this and I'm going I can't even blame Ray fix.
- 10:56Speaker 1: It's not Ray Phoenix's fault, and it's not Axiom's fault.
- 10:59Speaker 1: These are two uber talented professional wrestlers, and they went
- 11:03Speaker 1: out there and they had the best match that they
- 11:05Speaker 1: could have given the limitations that they're under. Because, believe me,
- 11:08Speaker 1: if Axiom and Ray Phoenix, if you gave those guys
- 11:10Speaker 1: ten or twelve minutes to go out there and have
- 11:12Speaker 1: the kind of match that they would like to have,
- 11:14Speaker 1: it would look very different than the match we had tonight.
- 11:18Speaker 1: By WWE standards, it was good. It was good, but
- 11:21Speaker 1: we know these guys could do better. But I don't
- 11:23Speaker 1: even blame them for that. This is the product of
- 11:28Speaker 1: not putting these people in positions to succeed. I don't
- 11:31Speaker 1: give a shit how many belts you put on Ray
- 11:33Speaker 1: Phoenix from outside WWE when he's on SmackDown. None of
- 11:37Speaker 1: that shit matters. Dominic Mysterio walks out every single week
- 11:41Speaker 1: and he's got the Triple A Mega Championship around his waist.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Who gives a fuck? Who gives a shit on Ron's SmackDown.
- 11:48Speaker 1: It doesn't mean anything. And I say the same thing
- 11:52Speaker 1: about some of these people when they pop up on
- 11:54Speaker 1: you Dynamite or whatever. Would belts from this promotion and
- 11:57Speaker 1: that promote unless it's like the IWGP belt or something.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Who cares. Okay, we have enough championships as it is.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Can we please focus on what we have right in
- 12:06Speaker 1: front of us. What we have right in front of
- 12:08Speaker 1: us is a very talented wrestler that WWE has basically
- 12:13Speaker 1: kept impurgatory now for months. His brother is doing great.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Penta is having a hell of a run for himself
- 12:21Speaker 1: on Monday nights. Ray Phoenix has been left in the
- 12:24Speaker 1: dust and look Penta. To me, Penta is more charismatic
- 12:29Speaker 1: of the two. Anybody who's gonna get a bigger singles push,
- 12:32Speaker 1: I'm not shocked at Penta is the one who is
- 12:34Speaker 1: succeeding here. But how do you expect these people to
- 12:37Speaker 1: get over and to get reactions from the crowd when
- 12:40Speaker 1: you don't even take the time to work them into
- 12:43Speaker 1: your shows? And I don't want to hear from anybody
- 12:45Speaker 1: when SmackDown goes back to two hours in a few weeks,
- 12:48Speaker 1: oh well, this is what you wanted. You wanted one
- 12:50Speaker 1: less hour of SmackDown, and now people like Ray Phoenix
- 12:52Speaker 1: are not gonna get TV time. And whenever somebody makes
- 12:55Speaker 1: a mention of something like that, I'm going to go
- 12:57Speaker 1: right back in their face and I'm going to say, oh,
- 12:59Speaker 1: you mean, like all the times that Ray Phoenix was
- 13:01Speaker 1: getting television time when the show was three hours. Really,
- 13:08Speaker 1: this is what happens when when you don't take the
- 13:10Speaker 1: time to actually feature these people on the television show.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Nobody gives a fuck. Nobody cares. They could be out
- 13:17Speaker 1: there doing all the flips and all the spectacular moves
- 13:21Speaker 1: in the world, an avalanche this and that it doesn't matter.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. People are going to sit on their hands,
- 13:26Speaker 1: are going to be looking at their watch, their phone,
- 13:28Speaker 1: They're gonna be waiting for the real stars to come out.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I was more sad watching that match than anything else. Now,
- 13:34Speaker 1: maybe part of it was the fact that they were
- 13:36Speaker 1: back in the States, so this was definitely not Europe.
- 13:40Speaker 1: This was not France, this was not Spain, this was
- 13:43Speaker 1: not Italy. In a different building, in a different country,
- 13:46Speaker 1: in a different environment, like those rowdy crowds that we've
- 13:49Speaker 1: seen over the last few weeks, it probably would have
- 13:51Speaker 1: been a very different match. But it is what it is, right,
- 13:56Speaker 1: it didn't help, but it goes beyond that. It goes
- 13:59Speaker 1: beyond that. I would like to think that maybe this
- 14:02Speaker 1: is the start of something where Phoenix is going to
- 14:03Speaker 1: start to be featured on a regular basis on this show.
- 14:06Speaker 1: But I know better, right, I have no faith in
- 14:09Speaker 1: these people. I know that's not going to happen. He
- 14:11Speaker 1: might be on the show next week, two three weeks
- 14:14Speaker 1: from now, we're going to have him on the you know,
- 14:16Speaker 1: fucking where is he? List right, He'll be on the
- 14:19Speaker 1: fucking milk carton. Let's talk about this show. Let's talk
- 14:25Speaker 1: about SmackDown. This is your Friday Night SmackDown review. It
- 14:28Speaker 1: is June twelfth, twenty twenty six. I am the Solemn Monster.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Thank you guys for spending part of your Friday night
- 14:35Speaker 1: with yours. Truly do me a favor. A few things
- 14:39Speaker 1: I need from you. I need you to go ahead
- 14:41Speaker 1: and hit that like button, and if you have a
- 14:43Speaker 1: super chat to drop, I appreciate it, go ahead and
- 14:46Speaker 1: do so. And I will be reading your messages later.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I know we already had a whole bunch of them
- 14:51Speaker 1: that came through, so as they come in, I will
- 14:54Speaker 1: be getting to those a little bit later. And we
- 14:57Speaker 1: do a little thing here where we have a color
- 15:00Speaker 1: full wheel on the screen that we're gonna take for
- 15:02Speaker 1: a spin. See how many likes. We need to do
- 15:06Speaker 1: hour be the booker segment, speaking of milk cartons? Where
- 15:09Speaker 1: is dragon of don't get me started. We'll be here
- 15:12Speaker 1: all night. Give me to go through this roster. We'll
- 15:18Speaker 1: be here for a few hours. Four hundred and sixty
- 15:20Speaker 1: five likes, and then you get a free box of wooings.
- 15:25Speaker 1: We're two fifty already, which is a good sign. It's
- 15:28Speaker 1: a good sign for sixty five. If I have too
- 15:31Speaker 1: many wooings, that's gonna be my new weight, four hundred
- 15:35Speaker 1: and sixty five pounds, all right, So get to work
- 15:38Speaker 1: on that. I'm gonna get to work on this. I'm
- 15:40Speaker 1: gonna take it from the top here. And it all
- 15:43Speaker 1: started with the general manager of this show, Nick Aldis,
- 15:47Speaker 1: who greeted Cody Rhodes as he entered the building tonight,
- 15:52Speaker 1: and Cody wanted the update, what's going on with Gunther?
- 15:55Speaker 1: What's going on with this stipulation that he's supposed to
- 15:58Speaker 1: be picking for our championship match next week? All this
- 16:02Speaker 1: so well, I haven't heard from Gunther. And he said
- 16:06Speaker 1: that his decision, though, would be rendered and we would
- 16:08Speaker 1: all know before this night was over. So then Jimmy
- 16:11Speaker 1: and Jay Uso were there. We know Jay Uso was
- 16:13Speaker 1: going to be on the show because he was in
- 16:15Speaker 1: the King of the Ring tonight where Jay goes, Jimmy goes,
- 16:17Speaker 1: where Jimmy goes, Jay goes. It's almost like their cousin cousins.
- 16:20Speaker 1: It's almost like their brothers. Maybe their cousins too. I
- 16:23Speaker 1: don't know, that'd be kind of impressive. Actually, if they
- 16:25Speaker 1: were brothers and cousins, what kind of fucked up family
- 16:29Speaker 1: tree would that be? But the Usos were there confronted Cody,
- 16:35Speaker 1: and Jay said that it's going to be Jay and
- 16:37Speaker 1: Cody for the WWE Championship at Summer Slam, after Jay
- 16:41Speaker 1: wins the King of the Ring. I don't even want
- 16:46Speaker 1: to think about this. I really don't even want to
- 16:48Speaker 1: think about it. Cody said he hoped Jay was right.
- 16:51Speaker 1: He said, Jay deserves it, but he hopes it's Jay's
- 16:53Speaker 1: decision and not Roman calling the shots. So they cut
- 16:58Speaker 1: back to ringside. We had Joe Tess, we had Wade
- 17:01Speaker 1: Barrett on commentary, and this was the first that I
- 17:05Speaker 1: had heard about this. But they made mention to the
- 17:06Speaker 1: fact that Rhea Ripley, who was not on the show,
- 17:09Speaker 1: the WWE Women's Champion she suffered a knee injury on
- 17:14Speaker 1: the European tour. She suffered a knee injury in Italy.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I think he said clash in Italy, so it may
- 17:21Speaker 1: have happened in her match with Jade on that show.
- 17:24Speaker 1: But the other they had smacked down was in Italy
- 17:27Speaker 1: last week, so maybe it happened there. But basically, from
- 17:31Speaker 1: what they indicated here, she's rehabbing it there waiting to
- 17:35Speaker 1: see if that's going to be enough or if the
- 17:38Speaker 1: injury ends up being more serious and they have to
- 17:41Speaker 1: take some sort of action. So basically, they didn't really
- 17:43Speaker 1: have much of an update for us other than the
- 17:45Speaker 1: fact that she is hurt and hopefully it ends up
- 17:48Speaker 1: being nothing too serious. It sounds like she's probably not
- 17:51Speaker 1: going to be wrestling for a little bit, so she
- 17:53Speaker 1: may not be wrestling a Night of Champions. I think
- 17:55Speaker 1: the hope at this point is that she'll be okay
- 17:58Speaker 1: enough to keep her bell to not have to vacate
- 18:01Speaker 1: it before we go to SummerSlam. But that's the update now.
- 18:05Speaker 1: False Finish h Q shout out to them. They had
- 18:07Speaker 1: a report about Jace Jane. Apparently her name has been
- 18:11Speaker 1: pitched internally as a potential challenger for Rhea Ripley and
- 18:17Speaker 1: the women's championship at SummerSlam. So I don't know if
- 18:20Speaker 1: it's going to end up being Jac. We don't even
- 18:22Speaker 1: know if Riea is going to be on the Summer
- 18:23Speaker 1: Slam card. If this turns out to be a more
- 18:25Speaker 1: serious injury, I could get behind that, though, you know,
- 18:29Speaker 1: it's not that big Marquis SummerSlam match like ria An
- 18:33Speaker 1: EO or Ria and Charlotte, but Jace. Again, I've come
- 18:38Speaker 1: around on Jac over the last six months in a
- 18:41Speaker 1: way that, like, I don't know, a year ago, year
- 18:45Speaker 1: and a half ago, I would have said, of all
- 18:47Speaker 1: the members of Fatal Influence, Fallen Henley is the one
- 18:50Speaker 1: who I would have seen is maybe getting that big
- 18:52Speaker 1: push first and being like a future world champion, And
- 18:55Speaker 1: I still think she can be. But Jac's really come around.
- 18:58Speaker 1: She's had a lot of success, and Fatal Influence hasn't
- 19:03Speaker 1: been on the main roster for very long. But I
- 19:06Speaker 1: like the idea of JC getting a shot. She's a
- 19:08Speaker 1: new face, she's very good, and if that ends up
- 19:10Speaker 1: being the match, then you know what, I'm okay with it.
- 19:13Speaker 1: But from what I can gather from this report, it's
- 19:15Speaker 1: not anything that's you know, etched in a stone tablet.
- 19:18Speaker 1: It's just that her name has been pitched and she's
- 19:20Speaker 1: at least possible for summer slim. Yes, that that j C. Jane,
- 19:26Speaker 1: j C Janet God. I remember, man, we were doing uh,
- 19:32Speaker 1: we were doing TNT that night that she beat Stephanie
- 19:36Speaker 1: for the NXT Women's Championship, and I just remember my reaction,
- 19:40Speaker 1: like j C. Jane, I was just so I was
- 19:44Speaker 1: so caught off guard by that. It was like, of
- 19:47Speaker 1: all the people that were gonna beat Stephanie to win
- 19:49Speaker 1: that belt, she would have been at the bottom of
- 19:51Speaker 1: the list of people I would have expected. Now, they
- 19:56Speaker 1: opened with a first round four way in the Queen
- 20:00Speaker 1: of the Ring Tournament, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, soul Arruca
- 20:06Speaker 1: and Lyra Valkyria. There have been matches that Jade Cargill
- 20:12Speaker 1: has had recently that I've praised, maybe even more so
- 20:17Speaker 1: than other people. They thought maybe I over praised it.
- 20:21Speaker 1: But I thought her match with Rhea, and I think
- 20:23Speaker 1: this is a pretty standard opinion. Her match with Riha
- 20:25Speaker 1: Ripley WrestleMania, I thought was good. They had a good match.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I thought their match at Clash in Italy was even
- 20:32Speaker 1: better than their WrestleMania match. And some people disagreed with
- 20:35Speaker 1: me on that, and that's fine, but two good matches,
- 20:39Speaker 1: and I said, a lot of that probably has to
- 20:40Speaker 1: do it Rhea, But again it takes two to tango,
- 20:43Speaker 1: and so credit to Jaye. They went out there, they
- 20:45Speaker 1: had good matches. I don't know what the hell happened
- 20:49Speaker 1: in this match. This was about as bad as Jade
- 20:54Speaker 1: Cargill has and I don't mean as bad as she's looked.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I mean, she looks unbelievable when she walks out to
- 20:58Speaker 1: the ring, but then the and so in terms of
- 21:01Speaker 1: the match itself, this is as bad of a Jade
- 21:04Speaker 1: Cargill match as I've seen in a very long time.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I don't know what happened here, but this was just
- 21:10Speaker 1: a fucking disaster for her and this match on this night,
- 21:14Speaker 1: it was a disaster. Now. She had a fallaway slam
- 21:17Speaker 1: early on in the match to Lyra and she sent
- 21:20Speaker 1: her backwards into Solaruka. That was honestly one of the
- 21:23Speaker 1: few clean moments of the entire That might have been
- 21:26Speaker 1: the peak, that might have been the highlight of the
- 21:28Speaker 1: match for her, was that early Fallaway Slam, So after this,
- 21:34Speaker 1: it was basically a dumpster fire for her. We got
- 21:37Speaker 1: our first exchange with Charlotte and Jade because they've really
- 21:40Speaker 1: kept them apart now for a while, and obviously we're
- 21:43Speaker 1: going to get the big singles match between them. So
- 21:45Speaker 1: maybe at SummerSlam we're gonna get the big singles match
- 21:47Speaker 1: finally between these two. So they started engaging right and
- 21:52Speaker 1: there were chops and they were doing spots and I'm
- 21:55Speaker 1: watching this and not only did it just not look
- 21:59Speaker 1: good good, they were so tentative or deliberate and slow
- 22:06Speaker 1: in everything that they were doing here. It's like Charlotte
- 22:10Speaker 1: was trying to guide her through and I'm watching It's
- 22:14Speaker 1: almost like they're doing drills in the ring like it's
- 22:17Speaker 1: their first week in school. For some I'm like, what
- 22:20Speaker 1: do we do? What's going on here? So it didn't
- 22:24Speaker 1: look good, you know what was going on here between
- 22:26Speaker 1: these two Meechin and Beefab. They pulled Charlotte out of
- 22:30Speaker 1: the ring. That brought out Alexa Bliss. She came out
- 22:32Speaker 1: to her music to a big reaction and she ran
- 22:35Speaker 1: down to the ring to fight them off. She was
- 22:38Speaker 1: followed by Tiffany Stratton, who fought Mitchen off into the crowd.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Bliss went off with b fab. Jade was supposed to
- 22:46Speaker 1: catch Soul on a springboard crossbody. She fell back. She
- 22:51Speaker 1: was clearly she did not want to fall down, but
- 22:53Speaker 1: she fell backwards. She did roll through, She made it
- 22:56Speaker 1: back to her feet until Lyra hit a dropkick and
- 23:00Speaker 1: sent Soul down on top of Jade. Now she's pinning her.
- 23:03Speaker 1: So Lyra quickly, you know, went over to break that up.
- 23:07Speaker 1: A little later on, there was a tower of doom
- 23:10Speaker 1: spot in the corner. All of the women except Jade
- 23:14Speaker 1: are on the ropes and they're jockeying for a position,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and so Jade was to get underneath them to set
- 23:21Speaker 1: up for the spot. And I can't even put all
- 23:23Speaker 1: the blame on Jade here, but she gets underneath and
- 23:25Speaker 1: obviously the other women are not set. They're not ready yet.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Jade maybe she was too early. So Jade's underneath them,
- 23:33Speaker 1: they're not ready, So she just has to stand there
- 23:35Speaker 1: and you can see her like they're all talking and
- 23:37Speaker 1: conversing trying to figure out like are we ready here?
- 23:40Speaker 1: And so Jade is underneath them, just standing there. For
- 23:44Speaker 1: it probably wasn't more than I don't know ten seconds,
- 23:46Speaker 1: but that's a long time. And then finally she brings
- 23:50Speaker 1: all of them down with kind of sort of a
- 23:52Speaker 1: power bomb. Then there was a double superplex spot later
- 23:57Speaker 1: on where Charlotte and Soul gave Jade a superplexed. They
- 24:00Speaker 1: take her all the way down to the mat, and
- 24:03Speaker 1: as soon as Jade hits the mat, she lost her wig.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Her wig came off briefly. She was able to grab
- 24:11Speaker 1: it so it didn't fully go like flying off her
- 24:13Speaker 1: head into the fucking fifth row, which would have been hilarious.
- 24:16Speaker 1: But her wig came off or it came loose, and
- 24:20Speaker 1: so you could kind of see underneath and everything and whatever.
- 24:22Speaker 1: So now she has she's struggling that to keep it
- 24:26Speaker 1: on her head. She's got her hands on her head,
- 24:29Speaker 1: and you know, she's laying there. She's holding onto this
- 24:31Speaker 1: thing for dear life, because she's got that long like
- 24:34Speaker 1: the silver hair, right, it's all. It's all a wig
- 24:36Speaker 1: that she wears. So she's trying to hold it on
- 24:38Speaker 1: as best she can. And for the remainder of the match,
- 24:42Speaker 1: she never let go of the wig. She had her
- 24:45Speaker 1: hands on her head. It was as if she had
- 24:46Speaker 1: hurt her head on the landing or she was kincussed,
- 24:48Speaker 1: Only she wasn't kinkush. She was just trying to keep
- 24:50Speaker 1: the hair on top of her head. So that didn't help.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Then when Jade went to go give Charlotte the jaded,
- 24:58Speaker 1: because the dude the jaded, You've got to use both
- 25:00Speaker 1: of your arms, right, like the chicken with a double
- 25:03Speaker 1: chicken wing. You hat to get your opponent up and
- 25:04Speaker 1: then slam them down. But at the same time, she's
- 25:07Speaker 1: trying to keep her hair in her head. So she
- 25:09Speaker 1: goes and like I think Charlotte maybe went to jump
- 25:12Speaker 1: too soon. They miss timed it and she got her
- 25:14Speaker 1: up for it and draw it looked like shit, but
- 25:17Speaker 1: whatever she hits jaded and the pin got broken up.
- 25:22Speaker 1: In the midst of all of this, Lyra and Soul
- 25:25Speaker 1: and Charlotte put together what I would say was a
- 25:28Speaker 1: pretty exciting final ninety seconds or so. Uh, this was
- 25:33Speaker 1: the best part of the match. They actually like the
- 25:36Speaker 1: speed picked up where they weren't working in slow motion,
- 25:40Speaker 1: and we got some exciting stuff here in the closing
- 25:42Speaker 1: moments of this match. They picked up the pace. There
- 25:44Speaker 1: were a couple of good near falls. Soul caught Jade
- 25:47Speaker 1: with a soul snatcher. I mean she almost snatched the
- 25:50Speaker 1: wig right off her head, but she hit the soul
- 25:53Speaker 1: snatcher in the corner. She had her beat. Lyra, though,
- 25:56Speaker 1: reaches in at the last second. She pulls Soul out
- 25:59Speaker 1: of the ring, then quickly scales up to the top rope.
- 26:02Speaker 1: She hits Jade with a top rope leg drop to
- 26:04Speaker 1: the back of the head. But as Lyra gets up,
- 26:07Speaker 1: Charlotte sneaks up behind her and hits natural selection, except
- 26:11Speaker 1: she didn't. I think Lyra just basically put her hand
- 26:14Speaker 1: down to prevent it, and then she crucifixed Charlotte over
- 26:21Speaker 1: into a close near fall. In the end, though Charlotte
- 26:23Speaker 1: got the figure eight applied. Except now, look, if I'm
- 26:28Speaker 1: gonna call Jade out for a lot of wonky shit
- 26:31Speaker 1: here in this match, Charlotte doesn't get She doesn't escape
- 26:34Speaker 1: any criticism here. She went to go put the figure
- 26:37Speaker 1: eight on. As she's bridging up into the figure eight,
- 26:41Speaker 1: she lost it. So you know how a figure four
- 26:44Speaker 1: leglock is applied? Were the real pain, Like I've had
- 26:47Speaker 1: that move put on me before. It fucking hurts, and
- 26:50Speaker 1: it hurts because it's like bone on bone, right, But
- 26:53Speaker 1: as she's bridging up here into this hold. Her legs
- 26:56Speaker 1: slipped out, so there was no real pressure being applied
- 26:59Speaker 1: in the hold. But this is the finish, and so
- 27:02Speaker 1: what's Lyra gonna do? So she's screaming in pain, and
- 27:05Speaker 1: then finally Lyra begins tapping out and Charlotte wins the match,
- 27:09Speaker 1: and just man, what a mess this was in some
- 27:13Speaker 1: places in some place. And I'm not saying the whole
- 27:16Speaker 1: match was a mess, but the messy parts were really messy.
- 27:20Speaker 1: But it got better there at the end. I will
- 27:22Speaker 1: say Soul and Lyra in particular, they were the superstars
- 27:25Speaker 1: of this match. I don't have a bad thing to
- 27:28Speaker 1: say about either one of those women in this match.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I thought they did their part, They did the best
- 27:31Speaker 1: they could, and they had some good stuff. I mean,
- 27:34Speaker 1: they just wrestled on television this week. They had an
- 27:36Speaker 1: Intercontinental title match that I thought was solid. But when
- 27:40Speaker 1: Jade was in there, especially the stuff with Jade and Charlotte,
- 27:45Speaker 1: I mean again, they were just they were moving so slow.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I could have sworn I saw a fucking glacier pass
- 27:51Speaker 1: by behind them in the background. And if this is
- 27:54Speaker 1: like an indication of what a Charlotte and Jade singles
- 27:57Speaker 1: match is going to look like at SummerSlam. I'm not optimistic.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I still feel like it's a big match that they
- 28:03Speaker 1: could do on that show, but I'm not optimistic about it. Again,
- 28:08Speaker 1: like it looked like she was going through drills and
- 28:10Speaker 1: like wrestling school, and it's not like Jade looks like
- 28:14Speaker 1: that in every single match. I mean, there are matches
- 28:16Speaker 1: where she does look like that, and it's almost like
- 28:18Speaker 1: her opponent is trying to help guide her along, which
- 28:22Speaker 1: and again it's very weird to me because she's been
- 28:23Speaker 1: doing this now for many years. It's not like she's
- 28:25Speaker 1: a rookie at this. But for whatever reason, here in
- 28:28Speaker 1: this match, and maybe it's a multi person match type
- 28:32Speaker 1: situation with her where she's better if it's just focused
- 28:34Speaker 1: one on one, or if she has a certain chemistry
- 28:37Speaker 1: with the person that she's in the ring with, like
- 28:39Speaker 1: she seemed to with Rhea, Like the two of them
- 28:41Speaker 1: work really well together, and then you put her in
- 28:43Speaker 1: the ring and there's fucking three or four other people
- 28:45Speaker 1: in there and the whole thing falls apart. I don't know,
- 28:48Speaker 1: maybe that's part of it, or she just doesn't have
- 28:50Speaker 1: the ability to sync up well with them, but Charlotte
- 28:55Speaker 1: winning was the right outca at the end of the day,
- 28:58Speaker 1: a SmackDown person had to go over here, and given
- 29:00Speaker 1: the match that she had today, if it would have
- 29:02Speaker 1: been Jade, that would have been a disgrace. So the
- 29:05Speaker 1: only right outcome here was Charlotte Flair winning and moving
- 29:08Speaker 1: on into the next round. Again. She's gonna be wrestling
- 29:10Speaker 1: Alexa Bliss. That'll be in the semi finals on the
- 29:13Speaker 1: show next week. I don't see any reason. I don't
- 29:17Speaker 1: see any purpose for Live Morgan to be going to
- 29:19Speaker 1: the finals of this start. She shouldn't even be in
- 29:21Speaker 1: this tournament to begin with, all right, let's just be honest.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Stephanie Vakaier is probably going to show up next week
- 29:27Speaker 1: or the week after it in ri odd and cost
- 29:29Speaker 1: her the win. I get it. She does not need
- 29:33Speaker 1: to be She should not be in this tournament. Live
- 29:35Speaker 1: Morgan has no business being in the Queen of the Ring.
- 29:37Speaker 1: They concocted some you know, kak a Maimi story about
- 29:40Speaker 1: I want it all, I want to win it all. Fine,
- 29:43Speaker 1: but she has no business being in this tournament, let
- 29:45Speaker 1: alone being in the finals. So hopefully it's Charlotte who
- 29:49Speaker 1: moves on, but I could easily see WWE wanting to
- 29:53Speaker 1: send Live to the finals because Live is the champion
- 29:55Speaker 1: and right we got to have her in the finals. No,
- 29:57Speaker 1: you don't we go backstage after this? Did I say
- 30:03Speaker 1: Alexa Bliss? Of course Bliss fan would pick up on that.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I met liv Morgan. Charlotte Flair against Alexa Bliss is
- 30:10Speaker 1: the match that we should be having in the semi finals. Backstage,
- 30:16Speaker 1: Kathy Kelly found Tiffany Stratton thankfully and not Kevin Owen's wife.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Tiffany made it very clear that just because she came
- 30:25Speaker 1: out there to help doesn't mean that her and Charlotte
- 30:27Speaker 1: are besties. But a meechin and befab they found Tiffany
- 30:31Speaker 1: in the back. They were about to lay a beat
- 30:34Speaker 1: down on her before a wild Chelsea Green appeared. She
- 30:38Speaker 1: was wielding a kendo stick and she was able to
- 30:40Speaker 1: fend them off, and Chelsea said that she was going
- 30:42Speaker 1: to go talk to Nick all this to make a
- 30:44Speaker 1: match tag team match for later tonight, which was in
- 30:47Speaker 1: fact made officials. So later in the show we ended
- 30:49Speaker 1: up with Tiffany and Chelsea as partners for the first time,
- 30:53Speaker 1: taking on Meechen and beefab elsewhere in the back, Jacob
- 30:59Speaker 1: fa Too showed up to confront Jimmy and Jay. Welcome
- 31:03Speaker 1: to Friday Night Raw, everybody. If you don't get enough
- 31:06Speaker 1: of it on Monday nights, don't worry because you got
- 31:08Speaker 1: plenty of it on Fridays now. So they wanted to know, Hey,
- 31:11Speaker 1: what are you doing here? Man? He said, Roman wanted
- 31:15Speaker 1: because Jimmy mentioned that Roman wanted Jay to handle his
- 31:18Speaker 1: business tonight on his own in the King of the Ring,
- 31:20Speaker 1: but he was there just to make sure nobody interfered
- 31:23Speaker 1: and stuck their nose in his business. So Jacob said, look,
- 31:25Speaker 1: I'm not here to see either of you. I'm here
- 31:27Speaker 1: to see Solo, and so off he went to go
- 31:31Speaker 1: find Solo Soca. We got yet another vignette for Blake Monroe,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and this time she was talking about Charlotte Flair and
- 31:38Speaker 1: the last one she was talking about Tiffany Stratton and
- 31:42Speaker 1: so it kind of looked like maybe they were setting
- 31:44Speaker 1: her up for something with Tiffany once she makes her
- 31:47Speaker 1: formal debut. But then this week it was about Charlotte.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Maybe next week it'll be about Alexa or Rhea or
- 31:52Speaker 1: somebody else. She may be going down the entire list.
- 31:56Speaker 1: It may be another six weeks before she finally shows
- 31:58Speaker 1: back up on this show. I say back, because she's
- 32:01Speaker 1: coming soon. Meanwhile, three weeks ago or whatever it was,
- 32:04Speaker 1: she already debuted on this show. She's still coming, though
- 32:09Speaker 1: she shall come again. Apparently coming once is not enough,
- 32:12Speaker 1: she has to come twice. So backstage, Gunther arrived to
- 32:16Speaker 1: chat with Nick all this, and Gunther said that he
- 32:19Speaker 1: would not trust Nick's referees. He would not trust his
- 32:22Speaker 1: officials after what happened in Clash in Italy. I can
- 32:24Speaker 1: understand that. So he's not going to trust him to
- 32:27Speaker 1: pick the referee for this title rematch next week. So
- 32:29Speaker 1: his rematch with Cody Rhodes on Friday next week is
- 32:32Speaker 1: going to have a special guest referee and all This
- 32:37Speaker 1: wanted to know, Well, who's it going to be? Gunther said, Well,
- 32:41Speaker 1: wouldn't you like to know? He said, I'm still mulling
- 32:43Speaker 1: over my options, but I will have an answer for
- 32:46Speaker 1: you by the end of the night. Elsewhere, Finn Ballor
- 32:52Speaker 1: was being interviewed by Kathy Kelly before they were interrupted
- 32:55Speaker 1: by Our Truth. Was very happy to see Baalor back
- 33:00Speaker 1: on SmackDown. We're on spackdown, said the Judgment Day is back.
- 33:07Speaker 1: He thinks the Judgment Day now is being put back
- 33:09Speaker 1: together again. Damian pre showed up. He looked very annoyed.
- 33:13Speaker 1: He was not happy to see Finn Balor here. Baler
- 33:15Speaker 1: was not happy to see him. Priest very reluctantly in
- 33:19Speaker 1: the most insincere way possible, welcomed him to SmackDown, and
- 33:25Speaker 1: Balor headed off to go get ready for his King
- 33:27Speaker 1: of the Ring match tonight. And then Priest is telling truth.
- 33:30Speaker 1: He goes, look, don't trust this guy after what he
- 33:32Speaker 1: did to us. All that matters is you and me
- 33:35Speaker 1: are the Tag Team champions and next week we are
- 33:39Speaker 1: defending our titles against the MFTs. That's next week. We
- 33:54Speaker 1: had Page and Brie Bella, the women's Tag Team champions,
- 33:58Speaker 1: in a non title match here against Fallon Henley and
- 34:02Speaker 1: Laney Reid of Fatal Influence, who had JC Jane in
- 34:07Speaker 1: their corner. Jace tripped up Brie early on when the
- 34:12Speaker 1: referee wasn't watching Fatal Influence. They kept Bree isolated for
- 34:16Speaker 1: a while. Brie finally did get the tagg to Page. Laney, though,
- 34:20Speaker 1: had the referee distracted and so he didn't see it.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Therefore it doesn't count. Paige finally tagged in legally went
- 34:27Speaker 1: on offense. She hit her rampage DDT, and honestly, every
- 34:32Speaker 1: time she hits it, it looks like she just breaks
- 34:34Speaker 1: her opponent's neck like it just it looks great. It's
- 34:37Speaker 1: just it looks brutal every time she does it. It's
- 34:40Speaker 1: just this spike DDT right into the mat. Only got
- 34:44Speaker 1: a near fall though on Laney. After Fallon broke up
- 34:46Speaker 1: the pin. So Brie Bella, she was on the apron
- 34:49Speaker 1: distracting the referee, and I didn't catch exactly what the
- 34:52Speaker 1: fuck she was doing. She was distracting the referee. Meanwhile
- 34:55Speaker 1: her own partner has a submission hold applied to fatal
- 34:59Speaker 1: influen so the referee is distracted, can't call anything because
- 35:03Speaker 1: Brie is having a conversation with him. Meanwhile, Jace reaches
- 35:07Speaker 1: in because Page had had her in the PTO. The
- 35:12Speaker 1: Bull Nakano move. I always loved that move when Bull
- 35:15Speaker 1: would put Alundra Blaze in that hole many years ago.
- 35:20Speaker 1: You know, imagine if those two were around when WWE
- 35:23Speaker 1: really started taking their women's division. Seriously, imagine that Bull
- 35:28Speaker 1: Nakano as part of the women's division in twenty fifteen wrestling.
- 35:32Speaker 1: You know Becky and Charlotte and Sasha was Victoria. Victoria
- 35:37Speaker 1: wasn't around at that point. Who else was there? Who
- 35:42Speaker 1: else was on the roster at that point, Naomi Natty,
- 35:47Speaker 1: I remember, I don't remember who else would have been active?
- 35:51Speaker 1: Bailey hadn't been called up. Bailey didn't get called up
- 35:54Speaker 1: until twenty sixteen, Oh to Mina anyway, So she had
- 36:00Speaker 1: the PTO locked on here believe on Fallon, So Jace
- 36:08Speaker 1: reached in pulled her to the ropes. So the referee
- 36:10Speaker 1: did see this, and so he ejected jac from the
- 36:13Speaker 1: ringside area. And as she was pitching a fit outside
- 36:16Speaker 1: and leaving, Fallon had Page rolled up. Breethough turned it
- 36:20Speaker 1: into a pin for Page behind the referees back, and
- 36:23Speaker 1: the Champions got the win. Yes, so the Tag Team
- 36:29Speaker 1: Champions here in this non title match, got a win
- 36:32Speaker 1: over Fatal Influence. Therefore, Fatal Influence shouldn't be getting a
- 36:37Speaker 1: shot at the Tag team titles anytime soon because they
- 36:39Speaker 1: can't even beat the Champions in a non title match.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Standard stuff. Otherwise, it got better when Page tagged in,
- 36:47Speaker 1: But I'm not really sure what this accomplished. I don't
- 36:50Speaker 1: think this accomplished anything. In the back, Sammy's ain was
- 36:55Speaker 1: again venting to a depressed Johnny Gargano who was planking
- 36:59Speaker 1: on a rate while Candace Larray bitched to her husband.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Sammy decided that he was going to go out to
- 37:06Speaker 1: the arena to clear the air with Cody Rhodes once
- 37:08Speaker 1: and for all. He thanked Johnny for the advice, even
- 37:10Speaker 1: though it was Candace who had said something to Johnny
- 37:13Speaker 1: about him getting up up off his ass and doing something.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Apparently this inspired Sammy, who then credited Johnny with the advice.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Elsewhere are you ready for some comedy everybody? Dan Hausen
- 37:27Speaker 1: was in his makeshift science lab, which travels with him
- 37:32Speaker 1: from one city apparently countries even one country one city
- 37:35Speaker 1: won arena to the next, and he was talking to
- 37:39Speaker 1: Los Garza, who were begging him to recurse the New
- 37:44Speaker 1: York Knicks because they had a lot of money riding
- 37:46Speaker 1: on the Spurs in game five tomorrow. You know what
- 37:49Speaker 1: they should do. They should be begging Dan Housen to
- 37:51Speaker 1: uncurse the two of them. They care so little about
- 37:55Speaker 1: their careers here on this show. They're more interested in
- 37:57Speaker 1: in in fucking recursing the Knicks. How about uncursing los Garza.
- 38:05Speaker 1: So they had to dan Housen a duffel bag full
- 38:07Speaker 1: of human monies. But before he could uncurse the Knicks,
- 38:12Speaker 1: as los Garza walked off, Matt Cardona walked in and
- 38:16Speaker 1: he said, don't recurse the Knicks. For the record, he
- 38:22Speaker 1: never did recurse the Knicks, which means the Knicks now
- 38:25Speaker 1: they have to win tomorrow. They have to win the
- 38:27Speaker 1: championship tomorrow because they were not, in fact recursed by
- 38:33Speaker 1: Dan Housen. They should build a statue for Dan Housen
- 38:37Speaker 1: outside Madison Square Garden after the Nicks win the championship
- 38:40Speaker 1: tomorrow night. So Kit Wilson returned, then he entered. Now
- 38:44Speaker 1: he missed the last two weeks for whatever reason. He
- 38:46Speaker 1: did not go on the overseas tour, so he was
- 38:48Speaker 1: not there. But he was back and he had the
- 38:53Speaker 1: Miz with him, and the Miz was. Now we talk
- 38:55Speaker 1: about Johnny Gargano sort of being in this catatonic state
- 38:58Speaker 1: every single week, and his case, he's planking on the floor.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Miz was upright, but he also was sort of just
- 39:05Speaker 1: staring off into the distance. His hair was his hair. Basically,
- 39:09Speaker 1: they made his hair up to look like he had
- 39:10Speaker 1: stuck his finger in the electrical socket because he had
- 39:13Speaker 1: gotten electrocuted when he touched the wrong piece of equipment
- 39:16Speaker 1: last week or two weeks ago in Dan Housen's lab.
- 39:20Speaker 1: And so now not only is he looks like he
- 39:22Speaker 1: had a stroke, but beyond that, he is now apparently
- 39:27Speaker 1: reciting all of the catchphrases from his career, and he's
- 39:32Speaker 1: had many of them on a loop, on an infinite loop.
- 39:36Speaker 1: He just walks around and he's reciting all of these
- 39:38Speaker 1: different catchphrases. So Kit Wilson, I think Kit Wilson wanted
- 39:42Speaker 1: him to fucking uncurse him, or I don't know. He
- 39:45Speaker 1: got exasperated, although not nearly as exasperated as I got
- 39:49Speaker 1: watching this show. And so Wilson put his hands on
- 39:52Speaker 1: one of the pieces of equipment, he too was electrocuted,
- 39:56Speaker 1: ended up on the floor. Dan Housen stared at him
- 39:58Speaker 1: and basically just did he can of a shit And
- 40:00Speaker 1: he walked off, And that was the end of that comedy.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Sammy's Aing. He was out to the ring gold dust,
- 40:13Speaker 1: he said, gold gold dust, Miss oh my god. That
- 40:20Speaker 1: was when Randy Orton and Battista that's right. Threw him
- 40:23Speaker 1: into that electrical panel in the back of the arena
- 40:28Speaker 1: and he got electrocuted. And he basically was walking around
- 40:32Speaker 1: pretending that he had turets. But like when he was
- 40:34Speaker 1: on Howard Stern, Goldust went on Howard Stern during this period,
- 40:38Speaker 1: and of course they're all making fun of him and everything.
- 40:40Speaker 1: He goes, it's not tourets. They're like, what are you
- 40:42Speaker 1: talking about. He goes, no, No, it's not turets. It's a
- 40:45Speaker 1: neurological condition. Sure sure thing. It's like, it's the Undertaker's symbol.
- 40:51Speaker 1: It's not a cross, it's not meant to be a cross.
- 40:53Speaker 1: It's the Undertaker's symbol. Sure thing. So Sammy came out
- 40:59Speaker 1: to the ring. Myle booze from the crowd. Well again,
- 41:03Speaker 1: we're definitely not in France or Italy anymore. Sammy also
- 41:08Speaker 1: has a new T shirt that says the last real
- 41:10Speaker 1: good guy. He called Cody Roads out to the ring
- 41:13Speaker 1: to handle their business. Sammy said that it was a
- 41:16Speaker 1: bit strange the reaction here from Providence, Rhode Island. He
- 41:22Speaker 1: was referring to the lack of reaction. Really, I think
- 41:25Speaker 1: what happened was because he was standing out there for
- 41:27Speaker 1: a while, right and really milking the reaction. I think
- 41:33Speaker 1: he was expecting either more of a louder mixed reaction
- 41:38Speaker 1: or more booze from the crowd, and he was getting
- 41:41Speaker 1: a very tepid, very sort of lukewarm reaction. I don't
- 41:46Speaker 1: think it was quite the reaction that he was anticipating.
- 41:50Speaker 1: He said they didn't want to compare the European crowds
- 41:52Speaker 1: to the American crowds, but his rider die Fan showed
- 41:56Speaker 1: up for him in Europe. He said that the crowd
- 41:58Speaker 1: could either sit and be so or they could be
- 42:01Speaker 1: ride or Die with the last real good guy Solo
- 42:08Speaker 1: is one of Sammy's ride or Die for Hey, I'm
- 42:11Speaker 1: a rider dies Sammy's ain fan. I mean I did
- 42:14Speaker 1: sour on him a few months ago, like when he
- 42:17Speaker 1: was wrestling Drew for the Championship of the Royal Rumble.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Like during that period, like I I couldn't bring myself
- 42:23Speaker 1: to give two shits about what Sammy's ain was doing.
- 42:28Speaker 1: But I'm back on the train now. I'm a rider die.
- 42:35Speaker 1: So he wanted to clear the air with Cody Rhodes.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Cody made his way out to the ring and he
- 42:41Speaker 1: asked Sammy what do you want to talk about? And
- 42:44Speaker 1: Sammy asked, Cody, please don't be this character, this facade,
- 42:48Speaker 1: like just for a second, I want you to be
- 42:50Speaker 1: a real person. I want you to be the real Cody. Okay,
- 42:53Speaker 1: my friend, not this whatever this thing is that you
- 42:57Speaker 1: pretend to be when you come out to the ring.
- 43:00Speaker 1: So we can have an honest conversation. Sammy brings up
- 43:03Speaker 1: getting hurt helping Cody over the last few months, and
- 43:07Speaker 1: Cody made Sammy feel like the worst person in the
- 43:09Speaker 1: world when Sammy didn't save Cody. Remember all those weeks
- 43:12Speaker 1: ago when Gunther this before clash in Italy, when Gunther
- 43:15Speaker 1: had snuck up behind Cody and put him in the
- 43:17Speaker 1: sleeper and Sammy just stood there and he just watched
- 43:20Speaker 1: it right and he left. So he says Cody made
- 43:23Speaker 1: him feel like a terrible person and a terrible friend.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Last week though, Sammy helped Cody and then Cody hit
- 43:30Speaker 1: him with a suicide dive, and at this point he
- 43:32Speaker 1: just has to ask if all of this is really
- 43:34Speaker 1: just an accident, so he wants the truth from Cody.
- 43:41Speaker 1: So Cody asked, if Sammy is really are you really
- 43:43Speaker 1: asking me to explain pro wrestling to you. Cody brings
- 43:47Speaker 1: up their history going all the way back to WrestleMania
- 43:49Speaker 1: of forty when Cody finished the story and he beat
- 43:51Speaker 1: Roman Reigns and he won the WWE championship. And Sammy said,
- 43:57Speaker 1: you know, he wasn't just a guy in the ring
- 43:59Speaker 1: with Cody night. He was the first person in the
- 44:02Speaker 1: ring with Cody to greet Cody and celebrate with Cody
- 44:06Speaker 1: after he won the title. He says, before anybody, he
- 44:09Speaker 1: was out there, and if anybody deserved to have sour
- 44:12Speaker 1: grapes about that, it was him. But he was happy
- 44:14Speaker 1: for Cody, and he still is because he's a good guy.
- 44:18Speaker 1: But everybody else in the ring that night, none of
- 44:20Speaker 1: them are still Cody's friends anymore, right, John Cena, Randy Orton,
- 44:24Speaker 1: Kevin Owens, all those guys, they can't be the problem.
- 44:29Speaker 1: All of them can't be the problem. So the problem
- 44:31Speaker 1: must be Cody. So Cody said he wasn't able to
- 44:34Speaker 1: be honest with those men, but he was going to
- 44:36Speaker 1: be honest with Sammy. The truth is that these fans
- 44:38Speaker 1: are booing you because you suck. You've become whiny and desperate.
- 44:45Speaker 1: And Cody said he was sorry he's sorry that he
- 44:48Speaker 1: has the WWE championship and that Sammy never will and
- 44:53Speaker 1: that hurts Sammy to his core because Sammy turned around
- 44:56Speaker 1: and he slapped him right across the face. And immediately
- 45:00Speaker 1: after he slaps Cody, he starts to apologize. He gets
- 45:04Speaker 1: right up in front of Cody's face. He's grabbing his arm.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it that. Please forgive
- 45:09Speaker 1: me for I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. And as
- 45:12Speaker 1: he's apologizing this entire time, Cody is just he's fuming, right,
- 45:17Speaker 1: He's just fuming. He's just it looks like he's about
- 45:19Speaker 1: to explode. And so Cody eventually slaps him back even harder.
- 45:24Speaker 1: So Cody asks him, are we good? Are we good? Now?
- 45:28Speaker 1: Apparently not, because Sammy left the ring. He was pacing
- 45:31Speaker 1: back and forth, and he walks over and he grabs
- 45:34Speaker 1: a steel chair and he gets up on the apron.
- 45:36Speaker 1: He makes like he's gonna come back in the ring
- 45:37Speaker 1: and he's gonna beat the hell out of him with
- 45:39Speaker 1: the chair. He thinks it over and then finally he
- 45:41Speaker 1: drops the chair. He drops down off the apron, and
- 45:45Speaker 1: at that point, Sammy walks off again. I have really
- 45:49Speaker 1: been enjoying the I guess you could say evolution of
- 45:54Speaker 1: this Sammy's Zin character. It's taken a few weird turns
- 45:58Speaker 1: over the last few months, but I think he's in
- 46:00Speaker 1: a really good spot right now where he's got something interesting.
- 46:04Speaker 1: And not only does he have something interesting, but he's
- 46:07Speaker 1: right in the middle of this World Championship program. Here
- 46:09Speaker 1: on this show, it's not just Cody and Gunther, it's Cody,
- 46:12Speaker 1: Gunther and Sammy. Right. He's in a good spot right now.
- 46:16Speaker 1: It's a hell of a lot more interesting than just
- 46:18Speaker 1: him being all playing Jane Vanilla, you know, the good
- 46:21Speaker 1: guy and all right whatever you know, or or even worse,
- 46:25Speaker 1: the good guy who comes out and just whins and
- 46:27Speaker 1: cries about how he's been screwed and where he's not
- 46:30Speaker 1: getting opportunities where he tries to be good and people
- 46:33Speaker 1: keep you know, wronging him like woo, keep crying about it,
- 46:37Speaker 1: like there's nothing interesting about that, right, So what they've
- 46:42Speaker 1: been doing with him lately is resonating more. It's the
- 46:45Speaker 1: most interesting thing they're doing on SmackDown. And maybe you
- 46:47Speaker 1: look at that and say, well, that doesn't speak very
- 46:49Speaker 1: well to how interesting SmackDown is. I don't disagree with you.
- 46:52Speaker 1: I'm just telling you it is the most interesting compelling
- 46:55Speaker 1: thing on this show week to week is the stuff
- 46:59Speaker 1: with Cody and sam And here we are. Now we're
- 47:02Speaker 1: heading into a rematch, right with Cody and Gunther. I'm
- 47:06Speaker 1: more interested in seeing Cody against Sammy than I am
- 47:09Speaker 1: Cody against Gunther. The way they did that match of
- 47:12Speaker 1: clash in Italy did not make me more interested in
- 47:15Speaker 1: seeing Cody and Gunther. I'm sure they're gonna have a
- 47:17Speaker 1: really good match next week. I am more interested, though,
- 47:20Speaker 1: in Cody and Sammy. And as far as this segment here,
- 47:26Speaker 1: when this was over, it was pretty clear who the
- 47:28Speaker 1: referee was going to be for this championship match next week.
- 47:31Speaker 1: And later in the show we found out because backstage,
- 47:34Speaker 1: Gunther finds a nick all this and he says, I've
- 47:36Speaker 1: made my decision. I've decided that you know what I want.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I want this referee to be a good guy, maybe
- 47:44Speaker 1: even the last real good guy. And so I'm gonna
- 47:48Speaker 1: need you to make Sammy Zain the special guest referee
- 47:51Speaker 1: for this championship match next week. And as far and yeah,
- 47:56Speaker 1: it's actually a good comparison. I just people in the
- 47:58Speaker 1: chat bringing up y seven Brett Heart. It's not exactly
- 48:01Speaker 1: the same thing. There are similarities, though. There are similarities
- 48:06Speaker 1: between the two characters, and the ninety seven Brett Hart
- 48:09Speaker 1: thing was just that was a fantastic character shift for him,
- 48:14Speaker 1: where I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't change on
- 48:17Speaker 1: you people. You people changed on me. Right. Look at
- 48:21Speaker 1: who you're cheering. You're cheering Stone Cold Steve Austin, this
- 48:25Speaker 1: guy who doesn't give a shit about authority, and he
- 48:27Speaker 1: flips people off. He has no respect. This is what
- 48:31Speaker 1: you're rooting for. Now you're booing me and sharing this.
- 48:35Speaker 1: And he had his rider die fans outside the USA,
- 48:38Speaker 1: just like Sammy has his rider die fans in Europe. Right,
- 48:41Speaker 1: he has rider die fans in Italy and France last week,
- 48:45Speaker 1: same thing with Brett. Brett would go to Canada, he
- 48:47Speaker 1: would go to Europe, he would go to all these plays,
- 48:49Speaker 1: he would go to the Middle East. He was in Kuwait,
- 48:51Speaker 1: all these different places. They loved him. They would cheer
- 48:53Speaker 1: for him, even when he was supposed to be a
- 48:54Speaker 1: heal didn't matter. So there are similarities. There probably has
- 48:59Speaker 1: some to do with why I've been enjoying the character
- 49:02Speaker 1: so much, but it's not quite exactly the same thing.
- 49:06Speaker 1: But as far as this match next week Cody and
- 49:09Speaker 1: Gun there, it just does not feel to me like
- 49:11Speaker 1: we are getting a WWE title change next week, and frankly,
- 49:15Speaker 1: I don't know why we would. I mean, look, you've
- 49:17Speaker 1: got a ple coming up in a few weeks, literally
- 49:21Speaker 1: the week after SmackDown next week, I think like eight
- 49:24Speaker 1: days later you have a ple called Night of Champions.
- 49:29Speaker 1: We're gonna have a bunch of championship matches on there,
- 49:31Speaker 1: and you know the WWE title is going to be
- 49:33Speaker 1: defended because Roman Reigns isn't even working the show. And
- 49:37Speaker 1: then in less than two months we have SummerSlam. So
- 49:40Speaker 1: now like you could have done something at Clash in Italy,
- 49:44Speaker 1: but now a few weeks later, it's like that moment
- 49:46Speaker 1: has passed. I don't get the sense we're getting a
- 49:49Speaker 1: title change on this show, or maybe not even a
- 49:52Speaker 1: Night of Champions quite frankly, but certainly not on SmackDown
- 49:56Speaker 1: next week. And now that Sammy is the referee, I
- 49:58Speaker 1: think they really want to think after the events of tonight,
- 50:02Speaker 1: like Cody is fucked, he screwed, right, It's almost a
- 50:07Speaker 1: little too obvious. If there was to be a title change,
- 50:11Speaker 1: it all just feels to me like we're heading for
- 50:13Speaker 1: a triple threat. I don't think that they are going
- 50:15Speaker 1: to want to beat Gunther straight up next week. Having
- 50:20Speaker 1: Sammy as the referee gives them an out. They could
- 50:23Speaker 1: do a finish in such a way that we still
- 50:25Speaker 1: have no clear cut winner, and coming out of it
- 50:28Speaker 1: somehow we end up with a triple threat made right,
- 50:31Speaker 1: because to me, that's a good main event for that
- 50:34Speaker 1: Night of Champions show. Cody, Gunther, Sammy, and you know,
- 50:39Speaker 1: I take it back about Night of Champions. You could
- 50:41Speaker 1: do a title change there if that's the case without
- 50:45Speaker 1: beating Cody. You could actually change the championship if you
- 50:48Speaker 1: want to gun Through to win the belt there but
- 50:51Speaker 1: not beat Cody, or if you wanted Sammy to win
- 50:54Speaker 1: the championship there but not beat Cody. Right, although having
- 50:57Speaker 1: Sammy pin Gunther, I wouldn't do that, but there's at
- 51:00Speaker 1: least options for like how you can go with it.
- 51:03Speaker 1: I'm not at all opposed to a Sammy's Ain title
- 51:06Speaker 1: win at Night of Champions. I'm not opposed to a
- 51:09Speaker 1: Sammy's Ain title win at Summer Slim if he was
- 51:12Speaker 1: to be the one that ends up challenging Cody for
- 51:14Speaker 1: the belt. I'm not against it. I think you could
- 51:18Speaker 1: absolutely do. I'm not saying they will, but I'm not
- 51:22Speaker 1: at all opposed to it because I find Sammy to
- 51:25Speaker 1: be more interesting than Cody. I know a lot of
- 51:28Speaker 1: people like to just like shit on Cody. He sucks,
- 51:30Speaker 1: he's this and that. No, he's in the position he's
- 51:32Speaker 1: in for a reason, and you can't say that he's
- 51:35Speaker 1: not over anymore or he's ruining the show and the
- 51:39Speaker 1: numbers are down because of like he's he calls himself
- 51:42Speaker 1: QB one, But you know what, that's that's what he is, right,
- 51:45Speaker 1: That's what he is. And he still goes out there
- 51:48Speaker 1: and he gets these great reactions, and he still goes
- 51:50Speaker 1: out there and has really good matches most of the
- 51:52Speaker 1: time with the people that he works with. But at
- 51:55Speaker 1: the same time, his character, there's nothing interesting about his
- 51:58Speaker 1: character right now, so he is he has gotten very
- 52:02Speaker 1: stale and very boring. Sammy's ain to me is a
- 52:06Speaker 1: more interesting option, and I'll say even more than Gunther.
- 52:12Speaker 1: It really is. It's sad like we talk about the
- 52:14Speaker 1: aura of Gunther right and all the big wins that
- 52:17Speaker 1: he got last year at the beginning of this year
- 52:20Speaker 1: over aj styles. He's the career killer, right, He's unbeatable.
- 52:23Speaker 1: All this stuff and not having any real direction for
- 52:27Speaker 1: him going into WrestleMania hurt. And I think doing the
- 52:32Speaker 1: finish the way they did it clashing Italy hurt a
- 52:34Speaker 1: little bit. He doesn't feel like that same guy anymore.
- 52:39Speaker 1: They've taken some of the shine away from him, and
- 52:43Speaker 1: so Sammy to me, Sammy would be a fine option.
- 52:46Speaker 1: I'd be okay with that, right, the last real good
- 52:49Speaker 1: guy finally won the Big One, and Cody back in
- 52:53Speaker 1: chase mode as opposed to just Cody coming out every
- 52:56Speaker 1: week with a big cheesy smile on his face, going,
- 52:59Speaker 1: what do you want to talk about? Gee? I don't know,
- 53:01Speaker 1: why don't we talk about the same shit we talk
- 53:02Speaker 1: about every week? Because it just feels like nothing ever
- 53:06Speaker 1: really changes on these shows. But I'm not expecting a
- 53:10Speaker 1: title change next week. I'd be I wouldn't be shocked,
- 53:13Speaker 1: but I would be very surprised if they do put
- 53:16Speaker 1: the belt on gun through next week. I just I
- 53:18Speaker 1: don't see that happening. Now we go backstage, Jacob Fatu
- 53:22Speaker 1: confronts Solo Socoa in his short sleeve turtleneck. He's got
- 53:28Speaker 1: a message from the OTC. He needs Solo to come home.
- 53:33Speaker 1: And Solo just laugh this off. He said that that
- 53:36Speaker 1: ain't home, that's a doghouse, and Jacob is his lap dog.
- 53:41Speaker 1: He doesn't understand this, Like, what the hell happened to you?
- 53:43Speaker 1: Man used to be a killer. He used to be
- 53:45Speaker 1: the Samoan werewolf, someone that people were afraid of, and
- 53:48Speaker 1: now you're just Roman's background. I thought he said he
- 53:52Speaker 1: was Roman's bag boy, but I think he said he
- 53:54Speaker 1: I think he called them Roman's background went I rewound it.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that's what he said. And he said,
- 54:01Speaker 1: he said, you know, Roman has done nothing but embarrass you.
- 54:06Speaker 1: Made you kneel before him like a dog, right in
- 54:09Speaker 1: front of the whole world, in front of our family,
- 54:12Speaker 1: and that's not how you treat someone that you love.
- 54:16Speaker 1: But he wants me to come back. He's not going back,
- 54:20Speaker 1: so Jacob can tell Roman he can go to hell.
- 54:24Speaker 1: And Jacob said, look, I get it. I understand everything
- 54:27Speaker 1: that you're talking about, but I made my decision already
- 54:30Speaker 1: and I'm going to stand on business. So if the
- 54:32Speaker 1: OTC sends me for you, I'm coming for you, and
- 54:37Speaker 1: Solo told him, okay, said you tell Roman if he
- 54:41Speaker 1: wants to come back, if he wants him to come
- 54:43Speaker 1: back home, then he can come and get him. Now,
- 54:47Speaker 1: I'm over all of this. Like again, I'm over all
- 54:51Speaker 1: this stuff. This is just it's just not it's not
- 54:55Speaker 1: the same. It's not this, it's it's the sequel. Well
- 55:00Speaker 1: is not as good as the original. That being said,
- 55:03Speaker 1: this was the best Solo Soca segment I feel like
- 55:06Speaker 1: that we've had in forever, just in terms of and
- 55:08Speaker 1: again it's just a brief backstage segment in terms of
- 55:13Speaker 1: the dialogue, and just in terms of how Solo came
- 55:15Speaker 1: off here. This was not Solo in the MFTs. This
- 55:17Speaker 1: was just Solo and Jacob and Solo standing up for
- 55:21Speaker 1: himself and frankly making some very valid points about Roman Reigns,
- 55:25Speaker 1: who's a complete dick. He's not wrong, you know, and
- 55:29Speaker 1: what he's saying. I just don't have it in me
- 55:32Speaker 1: to get excited though, for Roman Reigns and Solo so
- 55:35Speaker 1: CoA again, which is what they were heavily teasing here.
- 55:39Speaker 1: I mean they've been outright teasing Bloodline MFTs. Maybe in
- 55:42Speaker 1: War Games in a few months now war games as
- 55:44Speaker 1: many months away, but some sort of bloodline civil war,
- 55:49Speaker 1: you know, revisited between the two side. I just I
- 55:52Speaker 1: don't I don't care. I don't care. Been there, done that,
- 55:59Speaker 1: don't care. But this was a good segment for Solo Soco.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Now Ray Phoenix. He was out to the ring next
- 56:08Speaker 1: the brand new Triple A Cruiserweight Champion. He was out
- 56:11Speaker 1: to the ring to absolutely no reaction whatsoever, and he
- 56:19Speaker 1: was defending his championship against Axiom. I said this at
- 56:25Speaker 1: the beginning of the review, This was the saddest match
- 56:28Speaker 1: of the night for me, because we had two very
- 56:31Speaker 1: talented guys out there, and these people in Providence didn't
- 56:37Speaker 1: give a shit for a good ninety percent of this match.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Crickets Crickets. This match was brought to you by Cricket
- 56:45Speaker 1: Wireless Absolute Crickets. For the majority of this match, I'm
- 56:51Speaker 1: pretty sure I heard the guy's ring tone who was
- 56:54Speaker 1: up in the upper last row of the upper deck.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I think he had the the tony soprano ring tone.
- 57:00Speaker 1: I could hear it from all the way up there.
- 57:06Speaker 1: I'll give you an example during one of the commercial breaks,
- 57:10Speaker 1: because I did watch with my VPN tonight during one
- 57:14Speaker 1: of the commercial breaks, Ray Phoenix did this thing and
- 57:16Speaker 1: a lot of wrestlers will do this when they're trying
- 57:18Speaker 1: to rally the crowd behind them and kind of get
- 57:21Speaker 1: the crowd really loud and into the match. They'll like
- 57:24Speaker 1: bang on the mat right trying to rally the crowd.
- 57:27Speaker 1: This is one of the few times I've seen a
- 57:28Speaker 1: wrestler do that and the crowd doesn't rally. The crowd
- 57:33Speaker 1: is just they're still silent. He's banging on the mat.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Maybe he was banging on the mat out of frustration,
- 57:38Speaker 1: I don't know, but he's banging on the mat and
- 57:40Speaker 1: just nobody cares. Nobody cares. They did finally react though,
- 57:48Speaker 1: when he did an Avalanche Spanish fly That came later though,
- 57:52Speaker 1: so Phoenix avoided a golden ratio. He landed a brainbuster
- 57:55Speaker 1: for an ear fall. They did the avalanche Spanish Fly
- 57:58Speaker 1: spot where Axiom took him all the way down to
- 58:01Speaker 1: the mat. That got a rise out of the crowd
- 58:04Speaker 1: on the near fall. Phoenix ended up winning with the
- 58:06Speaker 1: Mexican Musclebuster to retain the title, and so when it
- 58:10Speaker 1: was over, we ended up getting some good Luca action
- 58:12Speaker 1: here in this match. A small taste of what these
- 58:16Speaker 1: men can do in the ring together. They just never
- 58:20Speaker 1: get the chance to show it, you know, in the
- 58:23Speaker 1: case of Phoenix, mainly because Phoenix is the one. It's
- 58:27Speaker 1: really like Axiom and Nathan Fraser, they're a tag team
- 58:31Speaker 1: in the tag team division right now is just in
- 58:32Speaker 1: total shambles. So I'm not surprised we don't see a
- 58:35Speaker 1: lot of Axiom on these shows. Axium, they threw him
- 58:37Speaker 1: a bone a few weeks ago. They were in his
- 58:39Speaker 1: home country. He had a really good match in Spain.
- 58:43Speaker 1: It's like I said at the time, I said, it's
- 58:44Speaker 1: like the old toy that they take off the shelf
- 58:47Speaker 1: and they kind of, you know, they blow the dust
- 58:49Speaker 1: off fucking toy. Story five is coming out next week.
- 58:52Speaker 1: It's like opening the toy chest. Though, Okay, who do
- 58:54Speaker 1: we got in here? We have Axiom in here. We
- 58:56Speaker 1: haven't used Axiom in a while. I forgot I even
- 58:59Speaker 1: had him in there. And you pull him out of
- 59:00Speaker 1: the toy chest and he's kind of dented and he's
- 59:03Speaker 1: all fucked up and stuff. But like you play with
- 59:05Speaker 1: him for a little bit and then you throw him
- 59:07Speaker 1: back in there. You close the lid and you don't
- 59:08Speaker 1: think of him again for another nine months. That's Axiom.
- 59:12Speaker 1: There's so many people that you can use that analogy
- 59:14Speaker 1: for on this show. But that's the case with Axiom,
- 59:17Speaker 1: and that's the case of Ray Phoenix. Ray Phoenix went
- 59:19Speaker 1: to Triple A. He won the Triple A Cruiserweight Championship
- 59:22Speaker 1: a few weeks ago from Laredo Kid. They gave them
- 59:24Speaker 1: eleven minutes on that show. Even that match, I felt
- 59:26Speaker 1: like should have been better than it was because they
- 59:28Speaker 1: just didn't get a lot of time. But he won
- 59:30Speaker 1: the Cruiserweight title, and it's like, Okay, good, good for him.
- 59:33Speaker 1: It's like the war Raiders. They sent the war Raiders
- 59:35Speaker 1: to Triple A. Now they're the Triple A Tag Team champions.
- 59:39Speaker 1: They showed up on SmackDown a week or two ago
- 59:41Speaker 1: in a backstage segment. Nobody like. It was almost I
- 59:46Speaker 1: wasn't even sure they were showing it on the tron
- 59:48Speaker 1: in the arena because there was no reaction. Nobody cared.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Why should they care. You cannot keep people off television
- 59:55Speaker 1: for an extended period of time unless they're already a
- 59:57Speaker 1: major star and expect that when you just threw roll
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: them out there unceremoniously like that that people are just
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: suddenly going to give a shit. You can't put a
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: belt on somebody from some other promotion. Oh well they
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: have a belt, and let's send them out there. And
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: then wonder, as I'm sure some people maybe were wondering,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: how come the people aren't reacting to Ray Phoenix g
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: I wonder why because you have told people that this
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: man is not a priority on your show, that you
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: shouldn't care. You have not given them a reason to
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: care about him. Yeah, he may be a great wrestler,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: but so what if he doesn't have the chance to
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: go out there and show what he can do. He's
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: a guy in a mask who gives a fuck. We
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: got plenty of guys in masks. What makes him special?
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: We know what makes penta special. Pent is on the
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: show every single week. He's given promo time on the
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: shows every single week. He's very charismatic, he's very likable.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Pent is great. Raymisterio wrestle Penta this week. Raymisterio has
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: a mask. Raymisterio as a Hall of Famer, So of
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: course people love Raymisterio. Dragon Lee. Dragon Lee's been getting
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: a fair amount of television time, so at least he
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: gets some reactions when he's out there, and then I see,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: like Ray Phoenix, I'm like this poor bastard, Like what
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: must be going through his head when he's seeing all
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: of these other people. And the best that they could
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: do for him is, well, we'll just send him to
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: the Undertaker and Triple A. We'll put a belt on
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: him there, and then we'll bring him back to SmackDown
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: to have a few matches. Okay, so he beat Axio
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: him tonight, and maybe next week he'll wrestle Nathan Freyer.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: In two weeks he'll wrestle Nathan Fraser and they'll have
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: a banger of a match, and then what after that?
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Then what? Then he disappears again, He disappears back into
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: the void, Like it's as predictable as fuck. We all
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: know how this is gonna go. And then eventually he'll
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: end up on some list and we won't see him anymore.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: But I just find I find it very amusing how
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: they feel, like, again, they could just sort of throw
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: these people out there, and then you know, you're left
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: to wonder, what, man, how come these fans don't care.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Let's blame the fans, man, If only they were in
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: front of a better crowd. Yeah, you know what, if
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: they would have done this match in Europe, it most
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: likely would have gotten a much better reaction. But those
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: people were reacting to everything. They were reacted to everything.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: So imagine you take these two guys right and put
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: them in a match in front of a crowd like
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that and really knocked their socks off. It would have
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: been a totally different atmosphere. But that was not the
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: case tonight. And again, I have no faith in these
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: people whatsoever. So this is not going to change. I
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: don't care how many belts from other places that you
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: put on him. It will not make a difference. We
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: had the United States champion Trick Williams out to the
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: ring next with Lil YACHTI in tow. There was a
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: little kid in the crowd as s Trick was coming out
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: and he was smacking hands with fans in the aisle.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: There was a little kid I couldn't have been more
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: than six or seven and maybe if that. And he
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: was wearing the same white fur coat that Trick wears
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: when he comes out. He looked like a little pimp
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: in the crowd. That's a good thing or a bad thing.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: But Trick spotted him and went right over to him.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: So that was kind of a nice moment there. So
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Yadi started doing his intro for Trick, and Trick cut
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: him off and said, look, I lost last week in
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: the King of the Ring tournament and I didn't like it,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: but it woke something up inside me. It lit a
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: fire in me that I haven't felt in a very
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: long time. It made me want to level up and
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: bring SmackDown to New heights. He said that he was
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: the leader of the New School and the fact that
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: he lost last week really pissed him off. So Ricky
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Saints music interrupted. He started to make his way out
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: to the ring, but then Carmelo Hayes's music hit. He
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: walked out, He blew right past Ricky, upstaged him and
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: went to the ring. Now all three of them ended
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: up in the ring together and basically they were bickering
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Hayes and Saints and talking about you know, it's time
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: we need to know who the number one contender is
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: for the US title, and Saints argue that he beat
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Hayes last week, which means that he should be the
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: one to face Trick Williams. That's it case closed, so
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: they kept arguing until Trick told the two of them
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to shut the hell up, and he said that he
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: would stomp either one of them. He said, until they
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: figure things out, shut up while grown folks are talking,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: and he went to go leave. Hayes got shoved into
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Trick by Ricky, and Hayes starts pummeling on the Saints.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Trick gets back into the ring, he lays them both out,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: and they played his music and that was it. It's
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: like when it was over him, like that's it. It
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: just sort of ended abruptly and it was just a
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: very paint by numbers segment. So not much to this really,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: but next week they did announce that Ricky Saints and
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Carmelo Hayes they're going to wrestle again. They're going to
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: have a Number one Contenders match. The winner of that
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: match will go on to challenge Trick for the US
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: title at Night of Champions. I mean, we've got to
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: be heading for a triple threat. You would think, now,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: if we get a triple threat with the WWE Championship,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: maybe they don't want to do the same thing with
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: the US title. But I think whether it's Night of
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Champions or Saturday Night's main event, or clearly we are
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: going to be headed at some point soon to a
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: triple threat match with all three of these men involved.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: It's only a matter of like which show do they
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: want to do it on? So I think next week
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: there's a better than decent chance we don't get a
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: straight up winner and then we get the triple threat.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: If I had to pick one, though, if it's going
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: to be one over the other, I would say that
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: we're probably going to end up with Ricky Saints picking
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: up the win next week. But I feel like we're
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: just going to go right into a triple threat. Here
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: in the back, Royce Keys was chatting with Kathy Solo.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Socoa interrupted. Solo said, you know, the Bloodline is here tonight,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: and he knows what play they're gonna be running in
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: the main event to make sure that Jay wins. And
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: he brings up that Jacob is also here. Some friend
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: he is. Huh, says Keys doesn't have to fight for
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: or with him. He just doesn't want to see Keys
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: become a casualty in Roman's War. The fact that Royce
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Keys ended up losing that match tonight, it just again,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: it just feeds into everything that Solo has been telling
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: him for weeks now, the two of them are gonna
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: end up linking up. That's the end game here, Royce Keys.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Whether he becomes a full fledged MFT or just sort
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: of loosely aligns himself with Solo, they're gonna end up
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: on the same side. That's what this is building to.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: Everything he's been telling Royce Keys makes sense. It is
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: the truth. Tonight only backed it up. He told them, Look,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: the Bloodline is here to make sure Jay wins. And
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: what happened. The blood line showed up in Jay one.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Now he had Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green against Meechen
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: and b fab Chelsea toss Meechen overhead with the Northern
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Light suit plex. She sent Meechen out of the ring
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: and then b Fabrin right into the ring post shoulder first,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: right as she was about to tag out to Tiffany,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: though Jade Cargill showed up, as if she didn't have
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: an exciting night already. She shows up and she yanks
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Tiffany off the apron, and that led to Michen delivering
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: a styles clash to Chelsea for the win. Not much
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: of a match to speak of for Meechin and B Fab.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I mean it's good for them because they're getting they're
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: getting TV time, which is why I said, like when
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: they first put them together with Jade, I said, Okay,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: this is gonna be great, you know, for the two
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: of them, because what would they be doing otherwise? You know,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: if Jade's going to be featured on the show, that
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: guarantees that Meechin and B Fab were going to get
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: weekly TV time. So here they had the chance to wrestle.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: They won again. The match itself was not terribly exciting,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: but for the two of them, this has been This
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: is a good thing. It's been a net positive for them.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I can't say that they're in a position that's really
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: any different than they were when they first started linking
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: up with Jade, but it's better than the alternative. And
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: somebody like b Fab, who again hasn't been doing this
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: as long as like Meechin has, for example, or probably
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: even Chelsea, the only way to get better is to
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: get in the ring and get reps. And they don't
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: have a real house show schedule to speak of. So
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: when you talk about these people, whether it's a Maxine
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: Dupre or it's a B fab. They really need to
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: be getting in the ring on these shows. It's the
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: only way they're going to get better. It's the only
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: way they're going to improve. Yeah, they may not be
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: the most exciting matches in the world, but these are
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: the types of matches that are necessary when you don't
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: have live events anymore, at least not in this country.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: They just had a whole European tour, but I think
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I mean they've they've cut
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: back on them significantly and it's really had a negative
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: effect on some of the lesser experience talents that they
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: have on the roster. As far as Tiffany and Jade.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I mean, look, we've already been there, you know, been there,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: done that with these two multiple matches with Tiffany and Jade.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: SummerSlam last year Saturday Night's main event, right, I think
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: that's when Jade won the championship. So I don't really
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: have any appetite to go back to this again. If
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: they want to do this and just kind of blow
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: this off at Night of champions because we got to
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: get title matches on the show, fine, or if they
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: want to do it as a TV match one week,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: that's fine. Too. This is certainly I mean, there's no
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: way this is going to be the Summer Slim match.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Fucking hope not. I still have to imagine the direction
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: for Summer Slim is going to be Jade and Charlotte.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Unless Charlotte is challenging for the women's title. I don't
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: think that's a guarantee. Again, we may end up with
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: Riha and j C. Jane for all we know. We
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: got a recap of Julia and Keana James breaking up
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: on the show last week in Italy. In the back live,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Kathy Kelly talked with Keanna, who said that she did
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: everything for Julia, booked her travel right, she was with her,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: She was with her, helping her every step of the way,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: and the one time that she needed Julia, she was useless.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Julia walks in and she says she only needed Keana
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: to help her with her English. And Julia says her
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: English is better now and she can finally tell Keana
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: what she thinks of her, and then she slaps the
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: shit out of her. Okay, good, So we're building to
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: a Julia Keanna James match. Great. They should have broken
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: them up a while ago, so I'm glad they broke
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: them up, but now we get to find out who
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: is going to come out on the better end of
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: this Who is going to come out on the better
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: end of this pairing, because it just feels to me
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: the pairing was meant as much for, if not more so,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: for Keana to really get Keana introduced to the main
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: roster than Julie, and I think they have big things
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: in mind for Keana in the future. I'm less sure
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: that when it comes to Julia. I hope she gets
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: the chance to show what she can do and gets
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: the chance to get over on her own. And her
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: English has improved. I mean her English was never was
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: never bad. I mean they kind of made it like, oh,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: she can't really cut English promos. I mean, if you've
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: heard her speak, she can. Hopefully we get to see
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: more of that. Julia should be one of the key
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: players in this women's division. There's no reason for her
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: not to be. Keana will get there eventually. If it
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: takes time, so be it. She's newer at this, but
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: there's no reason that with the talent she has the
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: jewel and you saw some of it in the n
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: XTAM before she got called up. There's no reason that
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Julia should not be contributing. And I could say the
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: same for Jordan Grace wherever the fuck she is. Like
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I'm just again, I'm astounded by just some of the
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: some of the decisions that are made sometimes in terms
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: of who they push and who gets you know, real
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: estate on these TV shows and who doesn't. Sometimes people
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: get hurt, but a lot of times it's not about
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: being hurt. It's just about the way that you're being
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: used or not being used. We know Jordan Grace is
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: not hurt. She's wrestling on main event. She is wrestling.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: She's just not on the main show anymore. And for
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: the life of me, I can't figure out why. But
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: I really hope Julia can turn it around, because the
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: thing is, you know, they put the US title on
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: her twice, like I'm a fan of hers, but the
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: reality is she wasn't over. She just wasn't. You know.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: She would go out there to crickets. It was really
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: no different than when Zelena Vega would be out there.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: You know, it was sad, it would come out, nobody
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: would care. Again, she has a championship, but so what
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: it's not about. You can put any belt on anybody
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: you want to. If they're not over, they're not over,
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: and there's got to be a reason for it. We've
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: seen Julie again, we saw it in NXT. We know
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: what she can bring to the table. You just have
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: to figure out a way to bring it out of her.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Put her with the right people, put her in the
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: right situations to succeed, and I think that success will come.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I just I don't know if it's going to work
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: out on SmackDown. Maybe a move to Raw would benefit
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: her in the long run. I thought if it were
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: up to me, I would have already moved her over
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: to Raw. She just has to be given the opportunity.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: If she's going to sink on her own, then she sinks,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: but at least give her the chance. The pairing with
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: the two of them just it was beyond its expiration date.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: And the back Finn Balor was walking and he came
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: upon Tomatanga. They bumped into each other. He said, that's
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: been a long time and he wished Balor luck. Bullet
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Club Alert. You know they did this with Tama and
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Nakamura where they it's just a little nods to their history.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: You and me, we have a lot of history, and
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: they never explained it by the way to the So
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: you know, you have people watching these shows when Knakamura
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: talks to Tomato and they apparently have dropped that story,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: but they would have these backstage segments and how many
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: people you think we're watching SmackDown going what are they
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: talking about? Like what history are they referring to here?
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: And so it's kind of here, it's like it's just
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: a little winking a nod to the fans who know
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: about their history and Bullet Club and that's and that's
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: cool and all. But yeah, the Knockamorra stuff led nowhere.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: This is not leading anywhere either. So I would not
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: look at any any further into it than it was
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: just a little nod to the people who know that.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: Cody confronted Nick all this in the back and he
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: had concerns about Sammy's ain being chosen to be the
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: referee for their match next week, said that Sammy, this
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: guy right now, he's an emotional wreck. I don't know
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: about this, Nick, you gotta do something. All this was like,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: my hands are tied. There's nothing I could do. And
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: he didn't realize that Sammy is standing behind him and
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Sammy said, you know, he said that to look. I
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: don't know, Cody, I'm a wreck. My emotions are all
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: over the place. But he wished him good luck next week,
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: and Cody had a very uneasy expression on his face
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: like he thought his championship was in great peril. It
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: was in great jeopardy next week. So they closed the
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: show with the first round four way and the King
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: of the Ring tournament, Jay Usso, La Knight, Royce Keys,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: and Finn Balor. They're all in the ring and La
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Night before they're about to lock up, and La Knight
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: says wait and he looks towards the hardcam and he
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: goes like this like he wants to run it back.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: So they play his music again and he goes to
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: climb the ropes and Jay immediately goes and attacks him,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: and the matches on away. That was funny. That's that's
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: the best running back spot that we've seen yet. So
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: I got a nice we'll let chuckle out of that.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: There was a there was a spot in here that
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: got bosh. I think it was La Knight. He went
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: to go hit a neck breaker on Royce Keys. I
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: think Keys dropped too soon, thinking that night was already
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: in mid motion. He wasn't, so he just went down
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: and Knight had to just figure out a plan B
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: just to keep things moving here. Keys came back there
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: with a power slam and had Night pin Ballor broke
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: it up. A little while later, Keys ran Jay Usso
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: into the ring steps outside Jimmy Usso all of a
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: sudden he shows up at ringside and he's nose to
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: nose outside with Royce Keys and in between them that
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: They shot this in a way where we could see
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: someone coming down the aisle and it was solo socoa.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: More bloodline drama here as we went to a commercial break.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: So later in the match, we had Jay Usso, La Knight,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: and Finn Balor all working together. They clear off the
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: announced desk and they put Royce Keys through the desk
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: with a shield style triple power bomb. And they when
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: I say they put him through the desk, I mean
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: they put him through the desk. They didn't hold back
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: on this power bomb. He took a rough bump man
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: through that table, so down he went back inside. Balor
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: put Jay down with a sling blade, but Jay super
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: kicked him. Baler then cut off Jay's spear attempt. He
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: hit another sling blade and he hit a shotgun dropkick.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Balor went up top and La Knight did that thing
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: where he leaps and jumps to the top rope and
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: thankfully he didn't slip and fall off Balor though instead
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: of him delivering the superplex, Balor kind of did an
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: inverted superplex and dropped him straight down onto j Baler
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: then hit Ja with the Couda grass and had him
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: pin Keys though pulled Balor out of the ring. I
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: guess he he he has risen, he recovered, so he
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: pulled them out of the ring and solo Sokoa. He's
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: praising Royce, Keys and everything, but he was distracted as
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: back turned and jay ussoh or not it La Knight
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: delivered a kick through the ropes that sent Royce into
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: solo in the ring. At Night hit Keys with the
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: top rope elbow drop. He went for a BFT Keys
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: was able to avoid it. Solo Socoa gets up on
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: the apron. He hits Night with a Samoan spike, unbeknownst
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: to Royce, Keys or the referee, which does really matter
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: because it's a four way so it's notice qualifications. Keys
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: hit a spinebuster on La Night and he had the
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: match one. He had him covered. Jay Uso though we
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: forgot about jay Usso, and he comes flying off the
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: top rope with a Samoan splash, and Uso splash off
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: the top onto keys and then he scrambles over on
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: top of La Night. Of course, La fucking Night takes
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: the pin here in this match, and jay Usso is
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: gonna run it back in the semi finals of the
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: King of the Ring and he will wrestle Javon Evans
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: in the next round. And this is again, this is
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: not the updated bracket. This was the updated bracket before
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: SmackDown Tonight, but you can fill in the blank there
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: in the lower right hand corner. Jay Usso going to
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: the semi finals, which means that Monday Night Raw Talents
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: they ran the table here in this King of the
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: Ring tournament. Not a single SmackDown Star advanced to the
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: second round. Unbelievable. SmackDown was utterly and completely buried here
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: in this tournament. And as if that isn't bad enough,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: they went with the least interesting option of all all
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: four men in this match, and the one that I
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: guess should have been the most obvious, But I mean,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: I just couldn't wrap my head around not a single
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: SmackDown name, at least moving into the second round. But
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: never underestimate ww's ability to care less about this show
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: than the fans do. If they drove home no other
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: point here tonight on this show, that's the number one
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: point that they drove home. Now, as far as where
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: we go from here, is Jay Usso going to the
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: finals of this tournament? Is Jay Usso going to win
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: the King of the Ring tournament? No, he is not
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: going to win the King of the Ring tournament? Is
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: he going to go to the finals of the tournament? Fuck?
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: If I know, very possible. I didn't think he was
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: getting out of the first round, So who the fuck knows.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: All I know is that I'm a lot less interested
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: in this tournament now than I was twenty four hours ago.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: I know that that. I can tell you there were
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: a lot of really fun possibilities in this tournament, and
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: they went with absolutely out of them. It's like if
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: you put a bracket up on the screen, and of
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: course fans love this shit, right, Oh we got a bracket.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: It's like we've got the march madness, Like, oh, the
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: bracket and the boxes, and everybody starts making their bets
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: about who's going to move on and go to the
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: final four and all that. Right, it's part of the fun.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: It's what fans do. So you get a bracket right
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: here it is, and you look at it and you go, man,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: look at all these poit look at all these match possibilities,
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: and of course, like Joe tessitour. When I initially look
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: at this, I think, man, that's a lot of singles matches.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: And then you realize, oh, they've already eliminated some of
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: the fun by not giving us singles matches. They're giving
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: us a bunch of fatal four way matches. It's like, okay,
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: well that's not as good, but hey, we still got
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: some good ones here, right, and we got some good
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: action in this tournament. We did. But you just start
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: looking at like, okay, who could go in this spot
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: and who could advance here? And oh man, we can
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: get Obafemi and bron Breaker. But maybe on this side
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: we'll get you know, we'll get these two guys going
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: one on one and I it's just ridiculous. It really
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: is just ridiculous. And even some of the names in
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: this tournament on it like, come on, man, what are
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: we doing here? The Talatanga and Damian priest then come on, man,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: what what are we doing here? Ah? Now you look
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: at this and more more so than jay Uso Obafemi's
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I said this on Monday. I mean, it's really Obafemi's
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: to lose, but I think that there's some some fuckery
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: that's coming. That's what I think.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Look, I would not at all mind Obafemi and Javon
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: Evans in the finals. It's like, we know Javon Evans
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: is not getting a World Championship match at Summerslim, but
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: a Javon Evans and Oba Femi match in the finals,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: given the matches they've had before, would be a hell
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: of a lot of fun. I'm down for that, given
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: where we are at this point, Like to me, that's
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: the best option of the people who are left. Of course,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: that doesn't encount that, that doesn't account I should say
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: for the people who are not in the tournament. Do
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: not discount the possibility that somebody else could end up
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: in the finals and end up winning this tournament that
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: we are not even seeing in the bracket. There are
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: names that could be worked into this tournament, who may
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: well win the entire thing. There could be fuckeryabound. Retro says,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: this is worse than two thousand and eight. Oh man,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: I remember that two thousand and eight one that I
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: think they did all that in one night, right on
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Monday Night. I think that was actually, if I remember correctly,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: I believe that was a special three hour episode back
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: when they were special of Monday Night. Raw is the
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: King of the Ring tournament, and I think I was
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: watching it. I was actually in Boca Raton. I think
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: I was in Florida. That was the one William Regal won, right,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: I think it was Regal and Punk in the finals
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: of that tourn Yeah, that was a bad one. I
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: remember like hardly any of the matches got like any time.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: It was like, this is not the way King of
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: the Rings should be done. But I've also realized something.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I have realized that, and this is kind of said.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: I think a lot of us who have been watching
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: for a long time we look back on King of
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: the Ring and I think we romanticize it a little
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: too much, because when you really look at it in totality,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: all of the King of the the televised King of
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: the Ring tournaments that we've had going back to nineteen
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: ninety three and ninety three is still the best one.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Ninety three told the best story, and you had the
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: entire tournament qualifiers aside. You had the entire tournament in
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: one night. It was just a totally different dynamic. Like
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: when you got to the finals, and in this case
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: it was Brett, but it could have been anybody else.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: It felt like, man, this is a struggle, right because
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: to win you'd have to win as many as three
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: matches in one night. None of this bullshit where it's like,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: well we'll just do the finals on this show, we'll
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: just do the semis and the like. You had to
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: win the entire thing. It was just very different. But
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: like we had King of the Ring in ninety three
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: all the way through two thousand and one, I'm sorry,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: two thousand and two, and then we didn't have another
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: one until two thousand and six, and then it was eight,
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: then it was twenty ten, right, and then after that
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: it gets a little fuzzy, I think twenty fifteen, twenty nineteen,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: and then in recent years we had a couple of them.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: There haven't been all that many great king of the
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: Ring tournaments. I think we look at King of the
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Ring as like what we imagine it could be in practice,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: though in execution, we've gotten mostly pretty bad tournaments over
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: the years. Like if you were going to rank them
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: or go back and watch all of them and then
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: compare them, I'm willing to bet there were more like
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: dis pointing, underwhelming or bad tournaments than there are really
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: good ones. WWE has just I don't know if it's
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: just a case where they just they don't know how
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: to do these tournaments, or they just don't care enough.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: If they really wanted to put like maximum effort into this,
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: like some of the entrants would have looked very different
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: and we'd be sitting here having a very different conversation now.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: But I just don't. I think they're just like, yeah,
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: we'll just do a tournament and whatever, and you know,
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: this will be all about the Judgment Day, and then
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: this one will be all about the Bloodline because think
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: about it, right, that's kind of what we're dealing with here.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: It really is about the Judgment Day more than anything else.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: But we had like all the Bloodline dramas and I
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: worked in there, and it's like, come on, man, like,
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: you know, this could have been so much better than
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: it was. They don't know how. I really don't think
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: they They don't know. They don't know how to book
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: a good tournament. It's not their strong suit. They don't
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: know how to do it. They just don't know how
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: to do it. It's very sad. But as far as
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: this SmackDown goes again, it's all about the Cody and
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: the Sammi stuff right now. That's really kind of carrying
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: the load here on this show. I thought the men's
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: King of the Ring match was good. The women's match
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: got good towards the end, but yeah, that was that
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: was not great. Phoenix and Axiom had a I thought
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: a good match as well. Again, just very sad. And
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: beyond that, I mean, they have their their other stories
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: that they're telling, but there's just nothing terribly compelling on
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: this show. And the quicker they slice off that third hour,
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: the better off will all be. How do they not
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: book an Oba Breaker final? I don't know, man, they
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: may have somebody else in mind to win. NXT knows
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: how to do tournaments. I can't vouch for any recent
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: tournaments NXTS. NXT's had some good tournaments over the years though,
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: you know, but yeah, it's just they don't know how
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: to do it. They don't know how to book tournaments.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: That's my takeaway from these last few years. All right,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: So the goal tonight was four sixty five, and just
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: to give you guys an update, we are at four eighteen.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: So we still have a little ways to go, maybe
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: about fifty or so likes. I think we'll get there,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: but we're not there yet. So if you have not
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: already done, so, go ahead and hit that like button.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: All right, let's get through your messages here, because we
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: got a bunch of them, a bunch of them to
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: go through. I love it. King Yeat is now in
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: your city. Get ready, solo, don't say that, Please don't
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: say that. If you give me the kind of the
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: red pill blue pill, you know, do you want you
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: gotta you gotta pick one. The Knicks win a championship
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: and you get King Yeat or the Knicks don't win
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: the championship, but we get anybody other than King Yet.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: Obviously I'm going with the Knicks winning the championship, but
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: I think I'd have to take like ten seconds to
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: really think about that before I make my final decision.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: It would be like an instant. Oh well, it's so obvious.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: I'd have to think about that for a few seconds. Joseph,
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: what's going on, Joseph. I'm gonna try to speed through Joseph.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: We're gonna do a speed round with Joseph here. But
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: he's got some wrestling questions here. He says, do you
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: think Hardcore and Crash Holly will go into the WWE
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Hall of Fame? I do not, not as a team.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: Hardcore Holly could go in one day, but I don't
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: see them going in as a team. I don't see
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Crash going in. We got Joseph saying, what is your
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: favorite Crash Holly match? It's not one match, but all
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: of those twenty four to seven title defenses where he
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: was in weird locations like fun Time, USA or JFK.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: I think was a jfkir Newark. It was one of
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: the airports that the head bangers were chasing him through.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: They beat him up in his hotel room once. Like
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: all of those were very, very entertaining. I kind of
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: lumped them all together. Do I remember Raven and Crash
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: having a hardcore match? I don't. Do you remember Raven
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: and Eddie Guerrero on WCW Saturday Night. I don't, but
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: they on the w CW channel. They just the other
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: day uploaded it's like almost two hours a compilation of
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: I don't know if it's all the matches or most
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: of the matches from the month of June nineteen nine,
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: all from WW Saturday Night. It's where like you could
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: feel things were changing, right because the nWo was first arriving.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: The Hogan turn hadn't happened yet, but the winds of
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: change were blowing in WCW. You could feel it. I
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: was watching that earlier today. Do you think Ted Turner
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: will remember more in the wrestling I think he means
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: be remembered more in the wrestling world than Vince McMahon.
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: No.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: Do you think WW had a better roster than WWE
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: in ninety seven and ninety eight. That's a good question.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: I think the answer is probably yes. They had a
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: very very strong roster and a bigger roster, very talented roster.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: I think I don't think saying yes is a hot take.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: Did I play any of the WW video games? I
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: play WWNWO World Tour. I think it was and Revenge
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: on someone else's console at their house, but didn't really
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: have a lot of hands on experience with the ww games.

- 1:33:28Speaker 1: dot com slash harmony. A quizzical one, who is a colonostepist?
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Is that what they're called? A colonostepist? I don't even
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: think that's what they're called. Maybe it is. I don't know.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: That's just funny to say that out loud. What is
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: a colonostopist's favorite actress? Cameron Diaz? I see what the
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: punchline was, didn't really land the way that I think
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: it was supposed to. I also laid bricks for a
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: fire pit. That means I can play for the San
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: Antonio Spurs. See that that was a better one. Death side.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: Why did the cool guy ask out the pyrophiliac because
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: he thought she was on fire? And we got dad
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: jokes tonight? Hey Nico, what's going on? Says? When I
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: was in high school, Tallatanga was six three sixty four,
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: big boy type shit. Did you go to high school
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: with Talatoga. Can you confirm this to be true? Says,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Since you're a baseball fan, what is your favorite baseball movie?
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: It's either Major League or a League of their own.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: Still can't get over live being in the tournament and
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: having the world title make it make sense? Well, to them,
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: it makes sense because if Stephanie ends up costing her
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: the crown, then that sort of sets them back on
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: their path together. But in the big picture here, it
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: doesn't make sense. The world champion should not be in
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: the King of the Ring or the Queen of the
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: Ring tournament. It does not make sense. It's like I
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: think back to when Brock was in the Royal Rumble
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: in twenty twenty and he was the champion, because you
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: could make the same argument like, well, does that make sense?
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: And it kind of doesn't. But it worked, It really did.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: It worked so well. That was one of the more
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: fun rumbles, honestly from the last decade plus that they've done.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: And there's also thirty spots in a Royal Rumble match,
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: very different than doing it in a tournament setting, and
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: you're wasting one of the spots on your women's World
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: champion it'shes it's very dumb, and then Nico with a
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: twenty spot says, long weekend ahead of me. Today, had
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: to do some medical tests, went to my local hardcore
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: punk show, and tomorrow got a flight to Philly for
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: the World Cup on Sunday. Oh, so you're going to
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: the World Cup. That's very cool. Well, I helpe your
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: medical tests go well and enjoy the game. He says.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: It was supposed to be colin oscopist. Damn auto correct.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: I was gonna say, what did it say? What did
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: it auto correct? As? Oh yeah, I'm like, what the
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: fuck is that? Uh? Nico, he says, what is the
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: name of the intro to Uncrowned? Every time I hear it,
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: I start doing my Kramer impression when he hears the
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: et intro. The Uncrowned intro as a banger. It is
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: a banger. I think it is the best intro to
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: any wrestling podcast out there. Frankly, it's it's a production theme,
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: so it's nothing that you can just kind of search
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: for special for the show. But I'm glad you enjoy it.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: Very old school, very old school feel to it. Death
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: Size says, since apparently see I'm punk is going to
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: be moved to SmackDown when he returns, him and Randy
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: Orton should have a feud since Cody is occupied with
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: Gunther and Sammy. Well, hopefully Punk will end up on SmackDown.
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: That's what I've been telling you people since he disappeared.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: I've been saying this for a couple months now. He
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: shouldn't end up on SmackDown. Nico says, if you don't
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: do the Forbidden Door stream, it's all good. Get the
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: good quality sleep. Yeah, I think that's what I'm gonna do. Yeah,
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: I said it in my Forbidden Door review last year.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: You know where It's like Forbidden Door jumped the shark
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: a few years ago. It's really no need for it anymore,
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: you know, especially if they're not going to really take
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: the time to And I understand like New Japan has
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: its Dominion Show. I think they have some stuff. They
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: can't really start promoting promoting certain matches until that works
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: itself out and they can get some of the New
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: Japan talents maybe to make an appearance on TV. But like,
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: you haven't taken the time to really even give us
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: a reason to get excited for any any of those matches,
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: and those are the real Forbidden Door matches. They announced
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: Omega and Zach Sabers Junior, So that's good, but like
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: what else, mostly aw stuff. You got the finals of
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: the Owens and you got this convoluted cage match that
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: they put together second year in a row. By the way,
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: hopefully this is not going to be in every year
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: thing where we get a big cage match in the
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: main event. Forbidden Door isn't needed. Forbidden Door isn't needed.
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: And they could have moved the Redemption pay per view
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: from July to June. You could have given you more
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: time to really build to all in Nico. You're very welcome,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: Thank you for the super Child love. Death Side says
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: was having Live Morgan win a wrestle many of forty
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: two a mistake? Well, no, apparently not. If Stephanie Vaker
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: was going to be hurt, you had to get the
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: belt off of her, so doing a title change, I
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: wouldn't say that was a mistake. I would say the
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: mistake was not having a real good plan B for
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: what to do with your women's world champion, because she's
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: done a whole lot of nothing. She's been a total
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: non factor. Super Pony actually nikas is. How is SmackDown tonight? Eh?
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: Not great? Super Pony Sammy is by far the most
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: interesting character in the entire company. Right now, this has
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: to end with him winning the title, right Oh, this
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: is WWE. It doesn't have to It doesn't have to
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: end that way at all, but I would be totally
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: fine with it if it did. GMB with a four
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: ninety nine. The Punk Jeff feud was so hilarious. In hindsight,
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: Punk really got booed for telling the crowds not to
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: do drugs and not to screw up like Jeff. Well,
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: probably because many of those fans were doing the exact
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: same thing. Jimmy White had fun at the show live,
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: but it dragged on. Are you talking about SmackDown? I
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: assume you're talking about SmackDown. Well, that's what happens when
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: you have three hours of SmackDown. I am Batman and
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: it's not Joseph. Would you believe it? Joseph has some
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: competition here. I am Batman with a fifty dollars. My goodness,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: that's the only way Batman knows how to do it.
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: He goes bigger, he goes home. He says, Obi some
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: oba oba versus Dom kicks off, Raw, Oba comes out,
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: Brock beats him down, though Dom thinks he's going to
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: go to the finals, and Adam Pierce says, I will
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: come up with a replacement for you in the main
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: event of Raw, and it's Randy Orton or Drew McIntyre.
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: They win King of the Ring and they challenge Cody
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: at SummerSlam. Well, it's very similar to the idea that
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: I pitched on my show and on Uncrowned and TNT
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: this week, where somebody gets bounced, they do an injury
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: angle and you slot one of the bigger names in
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: there to win the tournament. So if we were to
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: end up with another Randy Orton Jevon Evans match, we
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: had that on NXT a couple of years ago, maybe
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: we end up with a Randy Orton Jevon Evans King
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: of the Ring final that nobody would have expected, right,
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: I mean that that could work, could very well happen.
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: I am Batman, Thank you brother, you are the you
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: are the King of the Night. So far fast Eddie.
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: Here comes the Solemn Monster Rent with jay Uso and
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: Cody Roads at Summer Slim. Now we're not getting jay
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: Uso and Cody Roads at Summer Slim. It can't happen.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: It can't happen, It won't happen. I refuse to I
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: refuse to even acknowledge that it's a possibility. Can't happen,
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: won't happen, shouldn't happen, isn't going to happen. I'm not
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: going to will that into existence because it simply cannot happen. Uh,
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: Super Pony, cancel the tournament? How do they keep doing this?
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: Genuinely asking how do they continue to go down the
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: worst possible path time and time again. It's what they do.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: As as Triple Ah loves to say all the time,
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: it's what we do, it's what we do, what we do,
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: it's what they do. They can't book tournaments. They don't
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: know how. They don't know how to book a really exciting,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: compelling tournament. They are incapable of it. They demonstrated over
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: and over and over again. They don't know how. Venom
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: Caitetsu are just gonna play Doom while solo sounds off.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: Thank you, Venom, I love you two brother, or as
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: Doom would say, shake it baby, go ahead and drop
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: some dollars in Doom for me would you death side
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: if we get Jay and Cody, Oh my god, if
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: we get Jay and Cody at SummerSlam, I'm gonna start
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: drinking a shot of vodka every time I hear the
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: word yeat coming out of j Usso's mouth during the build.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: Oh we got Nico says, j Usso won no yeat
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: and saw that highlight when Julia pimpsmacked Keano. All she
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: was missing was baby powder. Bace Beers says, no yeat.
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: I agree, super Pony, the bloodline is one of the
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: worst things to happen to wrestling. I don't care what
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: anybody says. There are a bunch of parasites that won't
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: go away. Wow, tell us how you really feel, super Pony.
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: I wouldn't say they're parasites, but I would say this story,
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: this story has gotten a little long in the tooth,
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: I would say. Nico says, Solo, what do you think
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: the finish will be between Cody and Gunther with Sammy
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: as the special guest referee. I think we're gonna get
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: some sort of indecisive finish. I don't know how it's
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: gonna go, but I think it's going to lead directly
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: to a three way match for the championship, because I
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: think that as your main event for a Night of
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: champions that would be a very interesting match to close with, because, honestly,
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: I think you know people going into it. I think
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: you get a lot of different opinions about how that
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: match would go. Some people would think, oh, Cody's gonna retain,
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: some people would think, oh, Gunther's gonna win, and some
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: people would believe that Samy's aid might actually win the
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: championship in Saudi. In Saudi, he'd get cheered for it,
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: and then he could celebrate because these are all my
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: Rider Die fans here in Riod. Very very possible that
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: Sammy could win the championship on the twenty seventh. And
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: you know what, I'm here for it. I'm here for it.
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: Oh I confused Doom with Duke nukemb damn it. I
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: got them confused. I said, I said, shake a baby.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, man, that's Duke nukemb. See. Now we
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: need a Doom and Duke Nukem crossover. That's what we need.
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: I got my old school games mixed up. Man, those
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: were fun. Shane with a ten dollars super Chat Creative
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: has finally buried l A Knight for real in my book,
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: I just cannot take him seriously anymore. Yeah. Yeah, he
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: is where he is for a reason because that's that's
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: as far as he's gonna go. I think all the
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: La Knight fans need to stop torturing themselves over it,
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: because it's not gonna change Doom Nukem. Hey, there you go,
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: There you go, Doom Nukem. You like the color coordination,
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: by the way between the hat and the mic. These
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: things are not done by accident, you know. Nico says,
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: give me Heel La Knight. I think heal l A
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: Knight would be the way to go. I've said, I
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: think I think he has a good main event level.
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: Heel run in him as a babyface. He's gone as
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: far as he's gonna go. Prince Vegeta says, nothing like
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: listening to the Solemn Monster on a Friday night while
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: building my new Luigi and Mock eight lego set. Is
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: La Night the biggest choke artist in WWE? He says, Yeah,
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: happy Friday. Yeah, thank you, Prince Vegeta. Well, I mean,
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: is he the biggest choke artist in WWE? Yes, yes,
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: yes he is. And but in terms of like the
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: overall like overall choke artists, He's I mean, he's easily
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: number two. He's definitely in second place. First place of
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: course being occupied by the San Antonio spurds uh Dico says,
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: Jay Uso is the King of the Ring winner. That's
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: gonna be a no for me. Dog Derrek j Speaks says,
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: you're a good man, Solo. But WWE has proven for
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: a long time that they don't give two shits about SmackDown.
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: No shock to me that they got buried in the
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: King of the Yeah, and that's exactly what happened. They
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: got buried. They got buried in the King of the
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: Ring this year. There's no other way to put it.
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: There's no defense of it. Solo monsters lost son with
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: a dollar ninety nine. Oh no Jay winning, No good dad,
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: not good no son, No, no, it is not good.
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: Base Bearris says, I too am a hat backwards guy.
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: Thank you, brother. Nico says we'll be seeing more hats
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: on you Solo. Probably not. When I was out before
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: and I just didn't feel like taking it off, and
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: I said, it's blue. The mic is blue. SmackDown is blue.
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: All the LA night fans out there waiting for that
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: big push. Their balls are blue, I said, let me
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: wearing my hat Misfit Wrestling podcast with a twenty one
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: dollars that the the Row Row Roman reigns one Ken
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: dan Hausen curse the whole Onawaii family. Hey, now come
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: on now, I'll tell you whether I wish Dan Housen
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: would uncurse SmackDown. That's what I wish he would do.
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: Solomonster's lost son. Please Javon beat j I'll be shaking
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: my ass twenty four to seven. I don't know what
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: that has to do with wanting Javan to be j
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: but if that's what it takes, then go for it.
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: Although I didn't raise my son to shake his ass,
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: so I'd rather you not do that. Arabian Night two
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: thousand one company has Osprey versus Swerve in the finals,
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: and the other might be Yeat versus Dom. Thank God
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: more than ever tkowwe isn't the monopoly and still no Ilia.
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: It's over. Oh it's been over. It's been over for
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: Ilia for a while now, a bred heart, thank you
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: for the fifty one months. WWE is so boring. I
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: would rather watch a two hour video of Solo Monster,
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: JD and Chris Van Vliet doing their taxes. Well, we
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: might have to collaborate and do that next year. There's
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: always next year. Death Side Solo. Get the voodoo doll
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: for jay Uso. I will, I will, It's just it's
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: I don't have it in front of me. I don't
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: know where it is at the moment. I may have
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: to pull out the Voodoo doll on Monday. I got
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: the white pins and the black pins. We got retro
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: mint Man. Look at this with a twenty dollars superchair.
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: Retro mint Man. What's going on? Man? A solo Monster?
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: Greetings from San Antonio. Oh, he may not like my
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: spurs crack before. I recently came across a clip of
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: Rob Van damon Raw in nineteen ninety seven. I also
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: recall seeing Jerry Lawler in ECW as AWWE guy. Was
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: WWE already thinking about buying ECW in ninety seven? Oh,
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: I don't know they were thinking about buying them. They
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: had a secret or not so secret working relationship. Going
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: back to it could have been ninety I want to
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: say it was probably at least late ninety six, because
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: I remember they had the Mind Games pay per view
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: was in Philadelphia in September of ninety six, and that
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: was the pay per view where they had like Sandman
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: and some people in the front row. So there was
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: a there was a relationship there going back to like
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: ninety six ninety seven, and there were talents that WWF
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: wasn't using that they would send to ECW, like an
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: Al Snow, you know, and Al Snow ended up hitting
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: on this gimmick with Head and then eventually they brought
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: him back and he was moreover, So it was like
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: a talent exchange kind of thing. But Vince was kind
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: of bankrolling him in there for a little bit. But
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: I think honestly it wasn't out of him being this
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: righteous personal well, you know, I want to help this
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: company in need. There was a real war going on
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: with WWF and w ACW, and I think Vince just
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: felt like ECW could be a useful tool. So yeah, it,
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: I mean, the relationship goes back to ninety six. I
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: don't know that they were thinking about buying them though.
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: It's not like they had this long five year plot
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: to buy the company out. I don't think that was
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: the case. No, Okay, I don't feel so bad now right.
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: Retro mint Man says, I've been to one Spurs game
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: in my entire life. Not a basketball guy. Yeah, they
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: had a mini ECW invasion that was early. That was
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: like February of ninety seven, February in March, there were
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: a bunch of ECW things going on on Raw, but
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: the Manhattan Center show in February of ninety seven were
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: Legion to Do made their return. That was the night
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: that Sabu fell. He fell off, really jumped off the
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: giant Raw sign off leather wings. Some folks on Twitter
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: were saying Raw twenty thirteen had better quality matches than
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: SmackDown in two thousand and two with Shield, Brian Punk,
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: et cetera. What is your take on this? My take
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: is that we had great wrestling matches on SmackDown in
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: two thousand and two, and we had some great wrestling
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: matches on Raw in twenty thirteen. I don't look at
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: one as being supremely better than the other. Brian and
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: Punk and the Shield were basically in ring carrying the
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: entire show in twenty thirteen. In two thousand and two,
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: you at least had more than just it was more
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: than just three or four people so if you want
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: to say two thousand and two was better because of that,
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: then that's fair. But we had great We had great
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: matches in O two. We had great matches in twenty thirteen.
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: I don't see the need to compare the two. But
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: in O two you just had so many more people.
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: You had the SmackDown six, but then you had it
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: was more than just the SmackDown six, right, There were
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: a lot of really talented guys on that show, Brock Lesner,
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: Kurt Angle, You have the hassm Benjamin, Eddie Guerrero, Chris
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: ben Watt, But did you have Hulk? Cogan and the
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: Rock had big names on there too, Hogan, Rock Undertaker.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: I know I'm missing people. They had just this treasure
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: trove of talent to work with, and two and three
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: on that SmackDown show, it was just ridiculous Edge. Who
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: else am I missing? Raymistereo, uh JM. If Javon is
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: going to the finals, then it makes sense for Jay
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: to win tonight. Javon beating Jay is a bigger deal
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: than Javon beating the other three guys, is it? Though?
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: I guess in terms of how hard he's pushed relative
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: to the other ones. But I don't know if I
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: totally agree with that as long as Javon goes to
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: the finals. But to me, that's the only thing that
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: matters at this point. But I if it were me,
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: I would rather get the better match out of it
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: and then maybe have Javon win and it'll still be
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: a big deal. If you went in there with Royce
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: Keys and somehow found a way to beat Royce Keys.
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: Maybe there's some solo Sokoa involvement. It's not totally clean.
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: It's not like that's not going to be a big deal,
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like, yes, Jay Usso might
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: be a bigger start of the WWE audience right now
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: than Royce Keys, but beating Keys would still be a
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: nice achievement for him, or him in Balor, you know,
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: would be a better match. I'd rather have that, and
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: believe me, Javon would not be hurt too badly if
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: he beats a Balor as opposed to it, Jay Husso,
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: Saint James, what's going on? Man, I'm going to cry
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: about La Night losing. Don't cry. Nobody should be crying
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: over La Night at this point, because really nobody should
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: be shocked by this super pony. Why should guys like
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: La and Finn keep going when the people in charge
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: have put a ceiling on them that they're both in
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: their mid forties. When is enough enough? Why should they
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: keep going? Oh? I don't know. I would say that
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: they probably have a lot of zeros on the end
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: of their salary. That probably is what keeps that that
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: keep me going. Nice contract in at least the mid
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: six figure range, if not maybe a little more. I
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: I'd say that would probably keep me pretty motivated. They
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: don't run house shows anymore. Basically, they're on one brand
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: typically just one show a week. Right, Some people are
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: on Raw and SmackDown sometimes, but figure you work one
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: show a week with very few, if any house shows anymore.
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: If you're in LA and eight or a Finnvalley, there's
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: probably a pretty good chance you're not even on most
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: of these fucking pls, and you're getting paid a pretty
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: good sum of money and royalties. I could think of
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: a few reasons why that they would keep going. Devin
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: from NJ says buyer sell better promo Rick Flair or
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: Mick Foley. I don't know, man, It's a two very
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: different styles of promo. Flair, he's more He's entertaining in
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: a different kind of way. I'm gonna say Foley is
- 1:58:45Speaker 1: a better promo, but they're just they're two different types. Fully,
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: sometimes he would get very loud and very you know,
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: angry in his promos, but a lot of times it
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: was more reserved, almost the Jake Roberts like. Flair was
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: just always at like on a scale of one to ten,
- 1:59:06Speaker 1: he was always a seventeen, you know what I mean,
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: And he would fucking drop elbows on his suit jackets.
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: So it was more entertaining in that way. But as
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: far as like an actual promo, I shit, I mean,
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: I might go Fully over Flair also whose take was
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: more accurate, fully calling Flair a shitty booker or Flair
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: calling Fully a glorified stunt stuntman. I would have to
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: I have to remember what things Flair booked at that time.
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: That was early nineties. I don't know what he was
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: responsible for and what he wasn't responsible for. You know,
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: a lot of people shit on Jim Hurd and some
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: of the other people who were in charge at that time,
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: and it was their ideas Flair had had booking power.
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: I don't remember off him what years it was and
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: what he would have been responsible for, so I can't say. Also, now,
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: the glorified stuntman comment was insulting to Folly because he
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: was more than just a glorified stunt man. But in
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: some way, sure, he was a glorified stuntman. You know,
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: he literally did a lot of really stupid stunts. Think
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: of the stuff that a stuntman would do in a movie,
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: right that the actors wouldn't, and then Foley was doing
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: that without without any kind of safety net. He was
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: doing that on a regular basis in wrestling matches, the
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: kind of bumps he was taking in the falls and everything.
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: In a way, he kind of was a glorified stunt man.
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: But to just say he was a glorified stunt man
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: and that's it reduces him to nothing more than just, well,
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: he just took stupid bumps and didn't do anything else,
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: which of course is an absurd comment because Foley actually
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: was a pretty good wrestler and he was a great storyteller. Right,
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: He did a lot more than just take stupid stuntman bumps,
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: So you could see why he was upset about that.
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: He booked the the Yetti was like ninety five, though
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: Flair wasn't booking at that point. Broley hope Triple H
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: has balls to do O but Javon in the finals,
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: so I hope so too. Also does the lack of
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: pen eaters and women's division hurt the talent? It feels
- 2:01:18Speaker 1: like everyone gets pinned because there's no upper card jobbers,
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: the lack of pen eaters and the women. What does
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: that even mean? I'm not sure what you mean by that,
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: the lack of pin eaters. See. I think that it's
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: a compout whenever they do these multi person matches because
- 2:01:37Speaker 1: they don't want to pin the big names. Like it's
- 2:01:42Speaker 1: okay for your your top names. I'm not even talking
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: about the champions, but like it's okay for your top
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: names to be taking a pinfall here and there. It's
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: like they try to avoid that at all costs and protect.
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: When you protect everybody at all times, then nobody is special.
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: I think they go overboard with it. EJ. Slimpson. Do
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: you think owen Hart would have felt less out of
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: place in ww than Brett. Always felt that Brett seemed
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: more like a WWF guy than Owen He did spent
- 2:02:13Speaker 1: fourteen years there. He became a world champion there. He
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: was one of their time. He was their guy, you know,
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: and Owen was too. But to a lesser degree. Would
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: Owen have felt less out of place? Probably a little bit.
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: It still would have felt weird, though, Even Bulldog being
- 2:02:31Speaker 1: there felt weird, And Bulldog had already been there in
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: ninety three, and it still felt weird seeing him back
- 2:02:35Speaker 1: there in ninety seven, in ninety eight. Paul Carpenter of
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: Brian Pillman didn't leave WW in ninety six, what do
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: you think he'd be doing? And do you think he
- 2:02:45Speaker 1: would have joined the nWo turning on the Four Horsemen? Uh? Well,
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: I mean there's no way of knowing, obviously, but I
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: think Pelman in the nWo would have made more sense
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: than most of the people who joined the nWo. I mean,
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: fucking Vincent and Michael wall Street and Masse hero Shono
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: and Brian Adams and like, my god, Dusty Rhodes. They
- 2:03:10Speaker 1: put fucking Dusty Rhads in the nWo, Like are you
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: kidding me? Like a craze, loose canon Brian Pillman wearing
- 2:03:19Speaker 1: like a sleeveless nWo shirt. I could picture that in
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: my head. I'm sure he would have ended up there.
- 2:03:27Speaker 1: I'm sure he would have ended up in the nWo.
- 2:03:31Speaker 1: EJ says, rewatching the nWo and Harf Foundation ninety seven,
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: I don't think the nWo holds a candle to the
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: foundation better story matches and heat and my crazy I
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: mean holds a candle again in what way? nWo was
- 2:03:47Speaker 1: far literally literally and figuratively, far bigger than the Hart Foundation,
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: and far more impactful, far more influential. It meant more
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: to business. I love the Heart Foundation, and you could
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: say they had better matches, but it was not nearly
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: as big or as important as the nWo. Justin g
- 2:04:10Speaker 1: who's everyone got in the World Cup? Well, I will
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: leave that to all of you. Does anybody have a
- 2:04:14Speaker 1: prediction they want to make in the World Cup? Because
- 2:04:16Speaker 1: I'm not really following it as closely, so my prediction
- 2:04:19Speaker 1: doesn't really mean shit. I don't know. EJ says. I
- 2:04:26Speaker 1: turned three just before Goldberg ended Brett's career. I'd have
- 2:04:29Speaker 1: done anything to see Brett in real time. It's not fair.
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: You were lucky. I was very lucky. I think all
- 2:04:35Speaker 1: of us who lived through that era were very lucky.
- 2:04:41Speaker 1: The way that wrestlers, I feel like were trained and
- 2:04:43Speaker 1: brought up in the business, and you saw it in
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: their matches and the way they work very very different
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: than the wrestling you see today. The wrestling you see
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: today is it's different. It's different. That was a special era.
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: It wasn't always great, but yeah, that was a special
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: era that just can never be replicated. You had to
- 2:05:12Speaker 1: be there. Power spying games. Arsenal won their first title
- 2:05:17Speaker 1: in twenty two years. Knicks are one game away from
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: winning the championship. There's always hope for the Mets and England.
- 2:05:27Speaker 1: Yes to the Mets in England and the Knicks. That
- 2:05:34Speaker 1: sounds very random, but that's okay. Misfit Wrestling podcast with
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: a ten dollars super chat. I feel like WWE booked
- 2:05:42Speaker 1: the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments like they
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: did with the Cruiserweight and May Young Classics. I don't
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: think we would complain much about the booking of the
- 2:05:50Speaker 1: tournament if they would have booked them. I mean, the
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: Cruiserweight Classic was ten years ago, dude, and it was
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: not main roster. So again, there is a reason why
- 2:06:02Speaker 1: that worked. It was it was kept apart from the
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: main roster and Vince and their influence at that time.
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: Things haven't changed on the main roster. When it comes
- 2:06:10Speaker 1: to these tournaments. They don't know how to book a
- 2:06:12Speaker 1: proper tournament. They just don't know how. I don't know
- 2:06:15Speaker 1: why it's so difficult, Alex his brother. I'm so glad
- 2:06:24Speaker 1: that you're not here next Friday to watch the garbage
- 2:06:27Speaker 1: as the oh the MFT. Yeah, the MFTs are challenging
- 2:06:32Speaker 1: for the tag team titles. Yeah, I will not be here.
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: I will be in Chicago for House of Glory. So
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: super pony. This is the same guy that booked the CWC.
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: By the way, well, I think he had some help.
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: It wasn't all him, But yeah, that kind of makes
- 2:06:55Speaker 1: it worse, doesn't it. Somewhere along either one of two
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: things have happened. Either he has forgot all of what
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: he learned previously or used to do, or wasn't all
- 2:07:15Speaker 1: him and he had some help booking that stuff. Toya
- 2:07:24Speaker 1: ain't nice? Is WWE allergic to fun? Apparently? Yes? EJ says.
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: If the Knicks win tomorrow, well you have Truro's on
- 2:07:40Speaker 1: Monday's stream. In honor of Chuck and the Women of
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: San anton and the women of San Antonio. Better feud
- 2:07:46Speaker 1: than current W Chuck and the women of San Antonio
- 2:07:49Speaker 1: is it's quite the quite the feud there. I will
- 2:07:54Speaker 1: not be eating chorros on the stream by the way,
- 2:07:59Speaker 1: watching me eat churos as I consume them. That eleven
- 2:08:03Speaker 1: thirty at night doesn't sound very appetizing. Paul, Thank you, brother.
- 2:08:11Speaker 1: I appreciate you tuning in every single week here and
- 2:08:17Speaker 1: on TNT. Thank you brother. EJ. Slamp Hayman once said
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: he almost got Misawa and Kolbashi for Heat Wave ninety
- 2:08:26Speaker 1: eight before booking Hayabusa and Hakushi against RVD and Sabu.
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: Do you buy that or no? I think he probably
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: had conversations and tried to make it happen. Sure I
- 2:08:36Speaker 1: could believe that how close he came. I have no idea.
- 2:08:42Speaker 1: He brought in some pretty big international names during that
- 2:08:45Speaker 1: period of ECW. I can believe it. EJ says, shout
- 2:08:53Speaker 1: out to Nunzio, him into against A Jerry and Super
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: Crazy are some of the most underrated matches I've ever seen.
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: We'll shout out to Nunzio on taking that spear from
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: Goldberg in the Royal Rumble in two thousand and four.
- 2:09:09Speaker 1: I don't know how he survived that that still lives
- 2:09:13Speaker 1: rent free. In my head, Brolie says, if Triple H
- 2:09:16Speaker 1: booked Ruthless Aggression era WWE, Sina would have been stuck
- 2:09:20Speaker 1: with that rap gimmick for his whole career. He's bad
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: at elevating guys to main event spots. It's not a
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: great track record so far. We'll see how things work
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: out with Oba and Jacob and Braun. No reason that
- 2:09:38Speaker 1: in the next two years, three years, these should not
- 2:09:40Speaker 1: be the guys on top, along with Cody and Roman
- 2:09:43Speaker 1: and whoever else may be left. Probably most of them
- 2:09:45Speaker 1: will still be wrestling, Fucking Sath, Goady, Punk Brock. They'll
- 2:09:52Speaker 1: all still be around, Sammy, Drew, Randy. It's not easy
- 2:10:02Speaker 1: to go away and leave it all behind. Eric the Shawn.
- 2:10:08Speaker 1: If imagine if he Men and Skeletre were in the WWE,
- 2:10:13Speaker 1: what would their finishers be? Their finishers? I feel like
- 2:10:19Speaker 1: me he Man should probably have like a bear hug,
- 2:10:24Speaker 1: and Skeletor I feel like should have like a dick
- 2:10:26Speaker 1: kick and then do that like run away that he does,
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: Just kick him in the dick and run and laugh
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: and cameo Johnson with a twenty dollars, super gym. My
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: sister wanted to ask you with WWE, what the fuck happened?
- 2:10:42Speaker 1: She's been watching the old nineties, two thousands WWE. She
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: was born in seven and can't fully comprehend how it
- 2:10:51Speaker 1: became so commercial and soulless. Also, she likes your book
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: her team impression. Well, CAMEO tell you, sister, Sola Monster
- 2:11:01Speaker 1: says hi teller, The Sola Monster says, yo, Uh, it's
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: a really good question. What happened? What the hell happened that?
- 2:11:12Speaker 1: I think we're all asking that question. How did it
- 2:11:15Speaker 1: get to this point? The almighty dollar, anything that they
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: could commercialize, anything, they could slap a logo on anything,
- 2:11:26Speaker 1: just anyway, anyway that they can make money, any sort
- 2:11:33Speaker 1: of Again, you see it on the turn buckles, on
- 2:11:36Speaker 1: the ring mats, on the ring posts, on the barricades.
- 2:11:40Speaker 1: They'll have the announcers in the middle of a show
- 2:11:42Speaker 1: break in with their fucking food on the desk. Oh
- 2:11:44Speaker 1: you know, we're eating what a burger? Fucking what a
- 2:11:46Speaker 1: man shows up in the middle of the show. What
- 2:11:48Speaker 1: a man? What a moron? Like all this stuff, it's
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: the TKO era. That's just the way it is. It's
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: the era that we're in now, but it even predates TKO.
- 2:11:58Speaker 1: I mean, you go back to years look at WWE
- 2:12:02Speaker 1: ten years ago as compared to how it was in
- 2:12:04Speaker 1: the nineties, right, I mean, time goes on, things change,
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: things evolve, things get better, things get worse. But it
- 2:12:14Speaker 1: is a stark contrast when you go back on the
- 2:12:16Speaker 1: vault and you watch that stuff, you watch the old stuff,
- 2:12:19Speaker 1: and you compare it to the new stuff, and it
- 2:12:21Speaker 1: was about the wrestling back then. That's not what it's
- 2:12:24Speaker 1: about anymore. You know, it doesn't feel like a wrestling show.
- 2:12:30Speaker 1: Back then, it felt like a wrestling show. Today it
- 2:12:33Speaker 1: doesn't feel like a wrestling show. It's the biggest difference
- 2:12:38Speaker 1: because to them, it's not the most important thing. We
- 2:12:44Speaker 1: got Jack, If you had the choice or you stopping
- 2:12:51Speaker 1: the asteroids from hitting the planet or letting the dinosaurs
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: go extinct. If I had the choice, I'm going to
- 2:13:01Speaker 1: stop the asteroids from hitting the planet. We probably deserve
- 2:13:08Speaker 1: to be wiped out. I'm okay with that. Super Pony says,
- 2:13:16Speaker 1: do you think Zach Saber Junior would have won the
- 2:13:18Speaker 1: Cruiserweight Classic if he signed with WWE? It felt like
- 2:13:22Speaker 1: it was going to be him and he Boushie in
- 2:13:24Speaker 1: the finals, but they both didn't sign because they had
- 2:13:28Speaker 1: a brain in their head. That's why they made the
- 2:13:31Speaker 1: right decision. Would he have won? Yeah? Who won? TJP won? Right?
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: If they would have been able to get either one
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: of those guys under contract, then yes, they would have won.
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: The best thing they ever did was not sign with WWA.
- 2:13:45Speaker 1: It would not have worked. It would not have worked,
- 2:13:49Speaker 1: and we would have been deprived of a lot of
- 2:13:50Speaker 1: really great matches that we probably were not going to
- 2:13:53Speaker 1: get in. WWAJ says, Obviously the nWo was bigger and
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: more influential. I just find the Heart Foundation more entertaining
- 2:14:05Speaker 1: to rewatch. That's fine. Everyone's got their personal likes and
- 2:14:11Speaker 1: dislikes the Heart Foundation story. Even the way that Brett
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: sort of you know, influenced his more manipulated, it's a
- 2:14:21Speaker 1: better word, not unlike the way Roman Reigns has manipulated
- 2:14:25Speaker 1: his cousins. The way that Brett was able to manipulate
- 2:14:28Speaker 1: his brother and brother in law to be with him
- 2:14:31Speaker 1: again just so he had some backup was great. It
- 2:14:35Speaker 1: was great. It was great television. It was great television.
- 2:14:38Speaker 1: It was a great storytelling. USA versus Canada happened at
- 2:14:41Speaker 1: the same time. It was the rise of Austin anti authority,
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: Sean Michaels, the Boy Toy, it was great, Grapevine fires.
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: Who do you think has the best working punch in
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: WWE today? You know you talk about lost arts in wrestling,
- 2:15:01Speaker 1: there's a lost art for you. Everybody does those forearms,
- 2:15:05Speaker 1: they chop, they forearm. Very few people throw a really
- 2:15:10Speaker 1: like believable good punch in wrestling. That's why it's like
- 2:15:16Speaker 1: it's something that just stopped being taught. I don't really
- 2:15:19Speaker 1: understand why. I don't really get it, don't. I don't
- 2:15:21Speaker 1: know why that is. Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett, Razor Room,
- 2:15:27Speaker 1: Scott Hall had a great work punch, Brett Hart, Steve Austin,
- 2:15:32Speaker 1: the Rock, even the Rock, who throws a great work
- 2:15:38Speaker 1: punch to that? That's a good question. Roman Reigns has
- 2:15:44Speaker 1: a really great like thrust. He does this like thrust.
- 2:15:49Speaker 1: I guess that's how you would describe it. I'll give
- 2:15:51Speaker 1: him credit for that. I don't know, man, I don't
- 2:16:02Speaker 1: think there's any one person today that really stands out.
- 2:16:06Speaker 1: I'm like struggling to think of one. Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: I don't know who that would be, Eric DeShawn. Also,
- 2:16:17Speaker 1: so have you seen Spider Noir on Prime? Nicholas Cage
- 2:16:22Speaker 1: makes an interesting Spider Man, and I enjoyed every minute
- 2:16:24Speaker 1: he was on screen. I have not seen it. I've
- 2:16:26Speaker 1: heard a few things about it, but I have not
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: actually watched it yet. Jacy Jane, I love her discus punch. Yeah,
- 2:16:37Speaker 1: her discus punch is actually pretty pretty wicked. But see
- 2:16:43Speaker 1: if jac Jane is like the only name we can
- 2:16:45Speaker 1: come up with, and I think that kind of says
- 2:16:48Speaker 1: it all. First name I see in the chat that
- 2:16:53Speaker 1: even comes clubs J C. Jane, I'm like, oh, man,
- 2:16:56Speaker 1: that doesn't speak very well, does it too?
- 2:16:59Speaker 2: Uh?
- 2:17:01Speaker 1: The state of the worked punch and pro wrestling today,
- 2:17:05Speaker 1: Shane McMahon had the word. Shane McMahon threw punches that
- 2:17:07Speaker 1: didn't connect. I mean like visibly visibly never connected. His
- 2:17:15Speaker 1: punches were fucking awful. And the thing is like, he's
- 2:17:19Speaker 1: the boss's son, right, so he got to sell for him.
- 2:17:23Speaker 1: Remember him throwing those shadow punches when he was feeding
- 2:17:25Speaker 1: with Randy Orton. Not a single one of them connected.
- 2:17:28Speaker 1: Randy Orton had to stand there and just like start shaking,
- 2:17:30Speaker 1: like he had to sell this shit. I'm like, this
- 2:17:32Speaker 1: is awful. This is so awful, bro, He says, Triple
- 2:17:40Speaker 1: H had bor Ash and Regal in NXT. Now he
- 2:17:43Speaker 1: has Hayes and Bruce. Yeah, but Triple H had somebody else. God,
- 2:17:47Speaker 1: what was his name? He had another writer with him.
- 2:17:53Speaker 1: Was it Rich? I forgot the guy's name, but he
- 2:17:58Speaker 1: was I think he was the one who was really
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: writing those shows back then. Obviously, you know, Triple H
- 2:18:03Speaker 1: had his his input into the bigger picture and where
- 2:18:06Speaker 1: certain key guys were gonna go. I remember Tyler Breeze
- 2:18:10Speaker 1: actually gave Triple H credit for helping him come up
- 2:18:13Speaker 1: with that entrance because he had a bunch of different
- 2:18:15Speaker 1: things he was trying gimmick wise that just weren't working,
- 2:18:19Speaker 1: and he hit on the Tyler Breeze thing and then
- 2:18:21Speaker 1: he would come out with the selfie stick and everything,
- 2:18:24Speaker 1: and and Triple H was the one who really helped
- 2:18:26Speaker 1: him come up with that. So like he contributed. But yeah,
- 2:18:30Speaker 1: people think like Triple Ah just sat there by himself
- 2:18:32Speaker 1: and wrote the shows, Like that's not how it works.
- 2:18:35Speaker 1: You know, he had a team of people around, he had,
- 2:18:38Speaker 1: he had people helping him out doing that might have
- 2:18:41Speaker 1: been Ryan Ward. Maybe it might have been Ryan Ward.
- 2:18:49Speaker 1: It's like Undertaker in Triple A. Now, it's like, you know,
- 2:18:52Speaker 1: he may deserve a lot of the credit he's getting,
- 2:18:54Speaker 1: but I just I wonder how involved Jeremy Borashes in
- 2:18:58Speaker 1: that process, you know, And nobody mentions his name. It's all, oh,
- 2:19:01Speaker 1: the Undertaker's doing great in Triple A. It's like, all right,
- 2:19:04Speaker 1: well he's not the only guy down there, though, you know,
- 2:19:06Speaker 1: he's the most visible. And EJ says, if you're booking
- 2:19:13Speaker 1: my tag team Mount Rushmore, Midnight Express, E and C
- 2:19:17Speaker 1: LD and MotorCity Machine Guns, who comes out on top
- 2:19:22Speaker 1: owing a match? LD? LD ain't doing the job for
- 2:19:30Speaker 1: these other guys. You think LD is going to do
- 2:19:32Speaker 1: the job for the MotorCity Machine Guns? What are you crazy?
- 2:19:38Speaker 1: I'm talking like late eighties, late eighties, early.
- 2:19:42Speaker 2: Nineties LD, not late nineties LD.
- 2:19:47Speaker 1: That's who wins that match. All right, we're five hundred
- 2:19:50Speaker 1: and seventeen likes. The goal was four sixty five. All right,
- 2:19:56Speaker 1: very good. We're actually seven out of ten on the
- 2:19:58Speaker 1: bonus goal. But we have guaranteed one round of be
- 2:20:02Speaker 1: the bookers, so let's do it. It's almost two o'clock
- 2:20:05Speaker 1: in the morning.
- 2:20:06Speaker 2: It is now time to be the booker.
- 2:20:11Speaker 1: It is almost two a m. That's all I'm said. Mate,
- 2:20:15Speaker 1: you guys had the question. You brought the questions tonight.
- 2:20:21Speaker 1: All right, here we go, tag team be the booker.
- 2:20:27Speaker 1: It takes a team of people to books back down. Yeah,
- 2:20:30Speaker 1: that's scary, isn't it. Think how scary that is. It
- 2:20:34Speaker 1: takes a team of people to booksmack then, and this
- 2:20:36Speaker 1: is what we end up with.
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: In most weeks we have Hollywood Hulk, Hogan and the
- 2:20:44Speaker 2: Worm Dennis Rodman, the nWo.
- 2:20:49Speaker 1: Thirty years ago. Do you believe it? It was thirty
- 2:20:52Speaker 1: years ago this summer that the nWo formed, Hogan and
- 2:20:58Speaker 1: Rodman wrestled. I think back to back summers on the
- 2:21:02Speaker 1: Bash of the Beach pay per view. So let's see
- 2:21:06Speaker 1: who Hogan and rodmin again a wrestling at Oh my Gosh,
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: Sewn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Funny enough, this
- 2:21:16Speaker 1: was this photo here when they were teaming up and
- 2:21:18Speaker 1: they were tag team champions. That was ninety seven too.
- 2:21:22Speaker 1: So at the time that they were teaming up and
- 2:21:23Speaker 1: they were tag team champions, Hogan and Rodman were they
- 2:21:28Speaker 1: were becoming a team. They were doing their thing. Hogan
- 2:21:33Speaker 1: and Rodman against Austin and Michaels. There's a fucking match, man,
- 2:21:40Speaker 1: and this is nineteen ninety seven. Shawn Michaels so as
- 2:21:43Speaker 1: fucked up as he may have been in ring, he
- 2:21:46Speaker 1: was untouchable in ninety seven. You know, I don't know,
- 2:21:50Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if the drugs had
- 2:21:52Speaker 1: something to do with I don't know, But ninety seven
- 2:21:54Speaker 1: Shawn Michaels was just a different He was a different
- 2:21:57Speaker 1: kind of cat. He was untouchable in the ring, like
- 2:22:01Speaker 1: just put him in there with anybody is and this
- 2:22:06Speaker 1: is Austin a few months before the neck injury. Man,
- 2:22:13Speaker 1: that would have been something else. Who's doing the job
- 2:22:18Speaker 1: Michael's or Hogan Rodbin. We got Victoria the Spider Lady
- 2:22:32Speaker 1: or Tara. She was Tara and TNA Victoria against rowdy
- 2:22:38Speaker 1: Ronda Rowsey. I think Victoria would give her a good
- 2:22:43Speaker 1: run for her money. There so far, so good, So far,
- 2:22:49Speaker 1: so good, and here we go. We got our main event.
- 2:22:52Speaker 1: This is it comes down to this. We have the Undertaker,
- 2:22:56Speaker 1: not just the Undertaker. This is o g Undertaker. This
- 2:22:59Speaker 1: is not gi Ananobi. This is og Undertaker, gray glove
- 2:23:05Speaker 1: perm like fucking orphan Annie haircut Undertaker. I mean you
- 2:23:12Speaker 1: want to go really old school, like you go back
- 2:23:14Speaker 1: to the early days of the Undertaker, when he and
- 2:23:16Speaker 1: Paul BarreR first started being linked up together, before even
- 2:23:21Speaker 1: like the body bags. Do you remember what they would
- 2:23:24Speaker 1: do after he would beat an opponent, He would reach
- 2:23:28Speaker 1: into his little satchel he had, like a little pouch.
- 2:23:31Speaker 1: These days you would fucking pull out thumbtacks. But back
- 2:23:34Speaker 1: then might have even been brother maybe it was brother
- 2:23:38Speaker 1: love even it might like go back even earlier. But
- 2:23:41Speaker 1: Undertaker would take a little little bag and he would
- 2:23:45Speaker 1: pull out dirt, and he would hold the dirt over
- 2:23:49Speaker 1: his opponent's body and just sort of let the dirt
- 2:23:51Speaker 1: fall on them like they're taking a dirt nap. That's
- 2:23:55Speaker 1: old school Undertaker. Oh my god, Undertaker against Minoru Suzuki.
- 2:24:14Speaker 1: Holy shit, what would that look like? Undertaker and murder
- 2:24:22Speaker 1: Grandpa or even better before he became grandpa. If he
- 2:24:25Speaker 1: was in his younger years, that Undertaker was probably nineteen ninety,
- 2:24:34Speaker 1: late ninety, late ninety, early ninety one Undertaker, so early
- 2:24:39Speaker 1: ninety one Suzuki. What a card? Yeah, what a card Man.
- 2:24:47Speaker 1: What a card we got tonight. That's a good beat
- 2:24:51Speaker 1: the Booker, right there is what that is. They're gonna
- 2:24:56Speaker 1: beat the hell out of each other, Yes they are.
- 2:25:00Speaker 1: I love it, Ah Mays with fifty nine months of
- 2:25:06Speaker 1: channel membership, you must have had a nice impatient parents,
- 2:25:10Speaker 1: because if I tore up a chair like you said
- 2:25:12Speaker 1: you did, being he man, I would have had my
- 2:25:16Speaker 1: ass whooped. I got my ass whooped a few times.
- 2:25:22Speaker 1: Not for that though, thank you Mays and E J.
- 2:25:29Speaker 1: Slimp says. I was today years old when I learned
- 2:25:33Speaker 1: Nicki Minaj did vocals on Victoria's theme. Victoria is one
- 2:25:38Speaker 1: of the most underappreciated women's wrestlers ever. Yes, she did.
- 2:25:41Speaker 1: She did do vocals on her theme. Was she the
- 2:25:45Speaker 1: one who did the opening like I'm not the lady
- 2:25:47Speaker 1: to mess with? What right? And she did that whole
- 2:25:50Speaker 1: thing of the I can't do it, but like at
- 2:25:52Speaker 1: the beginning of the song. I think that was Nicki Minaj. Yeah,
- 2:25:57Speaker 1: Victoria should probably be in the Hall of Fame one
- 2:25:59Speaker 1: of these days. A two minute be the Booker was
- 2:26:05Speaker 1: better than a three hour SmackDown. Yeah, well that's how
- 2:26:11Speaker 1: it goes. Sometimes there were a couple of really awful
- 2:26:15Speaker 1: be the Booker cards recently, so I'm really glad we
- 2:26:18Speaker 1: were able to kind of wash the taste out of
- 2:26:20Speaker 1: our mouths. Tonight, Navy forty one eighty one coming in
- 2:26:26Speaker 1: late with a five dollars super chat Triple H said
- 2:26:29Speaker 1: they were going to strap a rocket to Jay's ass.
- 2:26:32Speaker 1: Turns out it was a SpaceX rocket. Every few months
- 2:26:36Speaker 1: he comes flying back. Surprise, he doesn't explode. Yeah, it
- 2:26:43Speaker 1: was her. That was Nicki Minaj. That was back when
- 2:26:46Speaker 1: she was she was a nobody compared to what she
- 2:26:51Speaker 1: would be a few years later. Anyway, thank you guys
- 2:26:57Speaker 1: for all the love, all the great questions. Tonight fun
- 2:27:00Speaker 1: stream more fun than SmackDown. Typically, that's the way it works.
- 2:27:04Speaker 1: Tonight was no different. And I have a brand new
- 2:27:09Speaker 1: podcast coming up for you on Sunday, Episode nine to
- 2:27:13Speaker 1: sixty seven. With any hope maybe we could be celebrating
- 2:27:17Speaker 1: a championship here in New York. I don't know, there's
- 2:27:19Speaker 1: a big game coming up later tonight. It's already two
- 2:27:22Speaker 1: o'clock in the morning, so maybe some of you will
- 2:27:26Speaker 1: be up very late on Saturday. When you wake up
- 2:27:28Speaker 1: on Sunday and you're drunken stupor you will have a
- 2:27:31Speaker 1: brand new sound of hopefully waiting for you, and then
- 2:27:34Speaker 1: back with you live for the Raw post show on
- 2:27:36Speaker 1: Monday night. Next week, we have Raw, we have Dynamite,
- 2:27:39Speaker 1: no SmackDown post show. I will be in Chicago for
- 2:27:42Speaker 1: House of Glory. We've got some big matches on that card,
- 2:27:47Speaker 1: Ricky Sosa against the Amazing Red That's going to be
- 2:27:51Speaker 1: a fun one. Shatzie and Steph de Lander, who have
- 2:27:53Speaker 1: been beefing down for a couple of months, were finally
- 2:27:55Speaker 1: going to lock horns for the women's championship. Nick Nemeth
- 2:27:59Speaker 1: was just announced for the show. He may very well
- 2:28:02Speaker 1: be your next t and a world heavyweight champion. He
- 2:28:04Speaker 1: will be in Chicago next Friday. Who he'll be wrestling
- 2:28:09Speaker 1: up to wait until this week to find out. But anyway,
- 2:28:13Speaker 1: that's where I'll be. So we'll be back with the
- 2:28:15Speaker 1: SmackDown review in two weeks and then I will be
- 2:28:19Speaker 1: reviewing SmackDown, probably on the SoundOff next weekend that we'll
- 2:28:22Speaker 1: just save it for the Sunday show. That's all. So
- 2:28:24Speaker 1: that's the plan right now. Of course Tuesday next week,
- 2:28:26Speaker 1: t n T. You know the drill, you know the schedule.
- 2:28:28Speaker 1: I'm all over the place anyway. Be well, stay safe,
- 2:28:33Speaker 1: have yourself a great rest of your nights, a great
- 2:28:36Speaker 1: rest of your weekend. Go nixt and I will see
- 2:28:38Speaker 1: you back here for more SoundOff live here on YouTube
- 2:28:41Speaker 1: for a brand new week coming up on Monday night.
- 2:28:43Speaker 1: Until then, take care, guys,
