- 0:06Speaker 1: A sentiment breaking development has occurred. It's all about the
- 0:09Speaker 1: Algorand chain. Today we're going to break it down for you.
- 0:11Speaker 1: My name is Paul Barrel. Welcome back in a tech path.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Let's get going. I want to thank our sponsor and
- 0:15Speaker 1: that is I Trust Capital. This is a place where
- 0:17Speaker 1: you guys can get started on your CRYPTOIRA and you
- 0:20Speaker 1: can either do it from this very beginning or you
- 0:23Speaker 1: can transfer one in from an existing IRA. So it's
- 0:26Speaker 1: very easy to set up. All you have to do
- 0:28Speaker 1: is visit I trustcapital dot com. You can get one
- 0:30Speaker 1: hundred dollars in funding as a reward just to set
- 0:33Speaker 1: it up there. Use an IRA link down below.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Check it out. Let's go over to a couple of
- 0:36Speaker 2: points I want to.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Hit on right here, and that is the topic of
- 0:40Speaker 1: Algorand and FIFA. Now, you guys know, I'm sure you've
- 0:43Speaker 1: heard the news. We'll talk about that, but this was
- 0:46Speaker 1: a big deal. We did this video almost three years ago,
- 0:49Speaker 1: over two years ago. Algrind and FIFA the analysis, we
- 0:51Speaker 1: broke it down. We've had Algoran on the show many times.
- 0:54Speaker 1: The one argument that I've always had around the Algorand
- 0:57Speaker 1: token and many of its projects they were too slow.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Marketing efforts were too slow in being able to get
- 1:05Speaker 1: when there's so much activity in the crypto markets.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Now, you probably probably remember this picture right here.
- 1:10Speaker 1: This is of course, of the FIFA chair and that's
- 1:12Speaker 1: Silvio himself, one of the leads over at Algarn, the
- 1:15Speaker 1: guy who has created the idea of what Algoran really
- 1:17Speaker 1: means and behind Algoranz technology is very solid, but it
- 1:22Speaker 1: gets down to narrative, and I think narrative is a
- 1:25Speaker 1: thing that many companies in the crypto space have to
- 1:29Speaker 1: be able to latch onto. And here's a good example
- 1:32Speaker 1: because this was just last week where they were still
- 1:35Speaker 1: boasting about the whole issue about the partnership with FIFA. Okay,
- 1:38Speaker 1: granted that's reasonable, but the reality is is that we're
- 1:42Speaker 1: continuing to see issues flowing in a lot of these partnerships.
- 1:46Speaker 2: This of course was talking about.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And one of the reasons that we really liked Algren
- 1:49Speaker 1: was obviously because of the FIFA partnership, but also this
- 1:52Speaker 1: one right here, and that was the potential of decentralized
- 1:56Speaker 1: ticket sales, among many others. I still think that's going
- 1:59Speaker 1: to be a big market going forward. Now, whether algorand
- 2:02Speaker 1: is going to be involved in with That's the real question,
- 2:04Speaker 1: all right. One thing that you have to worry about,
- 2:05Speaker 1: of course, is where the competition is coming from. This
- 2:08Speaker 1: of course is Chili's and Socio's. They also were launching
- 2:12Speaker 1: the potential around ticketing and they are also very connected
- 2:15Speaker 1: to the soccer p uh you know sector as well,
- 2:18Speaker 1: which is another big factor that plays into this whole
- 2:20Speaker 1: FIFA news.
- 2:21Speaker 2: FIFA shifts its.
- 2:23Speaker 1: NFT platform now to a new Ethereum compatible blockchain.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That's the news.
- 2:27Speaker 1: They're stepping away from Algoran and that wasn't really with
- 2:30Speaker 1: like a bridge or they're just stepping away. It's like
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm out of here and they're going directly in and
- 2:35Speaker 1: they don't even care what compatible blockchain they're going to.
- 2:39Speaker 1: That's how much of an impact it could have going forward.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And I think when you look at that and this
- 2:45Speaker 1: next clip, because this next clip will get into the
- 2:48Speaker 1: whole issue because this was going on during the summit.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Remember the Crypto summit where you.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Know all those crypto heads in there, you know, you
- 2:55Speaker 1: had Trump in there and David Sachs and.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Then here comes FIFA. Listen to this.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Take a look, show how beautiful the World Cup trophy
- 3:05Speaker 3: is will you go ahead? So this is the new
- 3:09Speaker 3: trophy of a new as you can see if I
- 3:13Speaker 3: managed to do it. Yes, it's a treaty to day.
- 3:22Speaker 3: It's the stadiums, beautiful stadiums in the stages in the
- 3:27Speaker 3: United States of America were So if there is anyone
- 3:30Speaker 3: here with interested team up with FIFA, are the United
- 3:36Speaker 3: States of America and we're home. Thank you, thank you.
- 3:39Speaker 3: That join may be worth more than FIFA in the end.
- 3:46Speaker 2: It could be quite a coin.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Actually you can kind of see a little bit Craney.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I know the editors were having fun with that point
- 3:53Speaker 1: being as he has to said, a couple of things
- 3:55Speaker 1: in there. One of course, is during that whatever that was,
- 3:59Speaker 1: he was the FIFA head was asking for partnerships, partnerships
- 4:02Speaker 1: right there in front of all these different crypto companies,
- 4:05Speaker 1: and you had Trump even saying, hey, there's gonna be
- 4:08Speaker 1: a FIFA coin out there. So there was some clear
- 4:11Speaker 1: in this, I think indications that something was afoot going
- 4:16Speaker 1: into this for sure. Now I want to talk about
- 4:18Speaker 1: this a little bit further because this is Sean Ford.
- 4:20Speaker 1: He's talking about why business didn't remember sound forward with
- 4:23Speaker 1: Al Grand He's basically saying businesses don't like shifting blockchain.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Take a look, I mean, just amazing benefits that Algren
- 4:31Speaker 4: has versus let's say in a theorem, which is so
- 4:33Speaker 4: struggling gas fees and so forth, and Algren being very
- 4:37Speaker 4: energy efficient. Are they kind of knocking your door like, okay,
- 4:41Speaker 4: we want to explore this and we want to test
- 4:43Speaker 4: this out.
- 4:43Speaker 5: A lot of times businesses, especially ones that have a
- 4:46Speaker 5: certain operating system, they're very reluctant to change because obviously
- 4:53Speaker 5: there's risks associated with it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: And all right, so there are risks associated with those things.
- 4:58Speaker 1: But for whatever reason, FIFA stepping away so abruptly is
- 5:02Speaker 1: a big deal. Now, there may be a timing thing
- 5:04Speaker 1: playing into this. Here's Miami dad commissioners that they're giving
- 5:08Speaker 1: an initial approval for another ten and a half million
- 5:11Speaker 1: in extra World Cup funding. And I want to showcase
- 5:15Speaker 1: something right here. This is happening down in Miami. They're
- 5:18Speaker 1: going to have an economic impact similar to hosting seven
- 5:22Speaker 1: Super Bowls. That's what's coming into the World Cup arena.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And FIFA of course is well known for that. Now
- 5:30Speaker 1: what does that mean. It means that I think FIFA
- 5:33Speaker 1: is trying to line up and seize the moment. And
- 5:36Speaker 1: of course when you look at what's going on over
- 5:38Speaker 1: on Avalanche, somebody back here on April sixteenth launched a
- 5:43Speaker 1: FIFA blockchain. This is a lair one that's happening within
- 5:47Speaker 1: the avax ecosystem. And it's not like this is being hidden.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I mean these are actually opened into the network. So
- 5:55Speaker 1: you look at that and also the growth of these
- 5:57Speaker 1: layer ones. Could this be an indicator that we could
- 6:00Speaker 1: see a shift on FIFA over to something like an
- 6:03Speaker 1: avalanche other things. If you look at ALGHN in terms
- 6:06Speaker 1: of core developers from the peak which was right around
- 6:09Speaker 1: the time that this was going on this partnership to
- 6:12Speaker 1: where they are now has really declined, so I think
- 6:15Speaker 1: that had a big contributing factor to it. You look
- 6:17Speaker 1: at a comparison to Avalanche back from that same area
- 6:22Speaker 1: around twenty one to twenty two, it has been increasing
- 6:25Speaker 1: in terms of total developers all right. So interoperability is
- 6:29Speaker 1: going to be one of those things that someone like
- 6:31Speaker 1: FIFA is going to be that's going to be paramount.
- 6:34Speaker 1: It's going to be one of the key things they want.
- 6:35Speaker 1: This is a good example right here with gunsmy net
- 6:38Speaker 1: rolling out to its first thousand people. This of course
- 6:40Speaker 1: is all on Gunzilla. If you guys haven't been following along,
- 6:43Speaker 1: this is on the Avalanche ecosystem. And then of course
- 6:47Speaker 1: Off the Grid is now officially verified on open Sea,
- 6:50Speaker 1: which means all of these layer once are going to
- 6:53Speaker 1: be available on open See and their NFT, so all
- 6:56Speaker 1: that's going to hit the marketplace. Because this is just
- 6:59Speaker 1: to show you an Exams Apple Exclusive premiere Open Sea
- 7:01Speaker 1: weapons skin. This is you know, the Gunzilla skins if
- 7:04Speaker 1: you guys don't know the game Off the Grid, and again,
- 7:07Speaker 1: all of this means collectibles, just like with FIFA. Remember
- 7:11Speaker 1: FIA as also a game, all right, so remember Magic Eden,
- 7:15Speaker 1: these guys are expanding to support Avalanche ecosystem as well.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Let me go to this next clip because this clip
- 7:20Speaker 1: will get into a little bit more detail on where
- 7:23Speaker 1: the FIFA CEO.
- 7:25Speaker 2: And how he wants to do it for young gamers.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Take a look, many of the young generation, many of
- 7:31Speaker 3: you know FIFA as well from the game, right from
- 7:35Speaker 3: the simulation game. Maybe in future we know FIFA as
- 7:39Speaker 3: well for its cryptocurrency or for other tokens that we
- 7:45Speaker 3: will elaborate together.
- 7:46Speaker 1: All right, So he had already started talking about this,
- 7:49Speaker 1: even back when he was talking with Silvia, there is
- 7:51Speaker 1: that they were intending to launch some potential tokens. If
- 7:55Speaker 1: you look at that, along with what Mythical has been
- 7:57Speaker 1: able to do, they are all also looking at where
- 8:02Speaker 1: you need to create these game integrations, not just NFTs.
- 8:06Speaker 6: Take a look at this clip, well, I think a
- 8:07Speaker 6: lot of chain and tech companies would throw money to
- 8:11Speaker 6: them to be like just to try and get a
- 8:14Speaker 6: leg in, you know, like they just needed something. And
- 8:17Speaker 6: you see a lot of fractured attempts out there that
- 8:21Speaker 6: everybody's kind of going everywhere. Which is fine, I mean
- 8:24Speaker 6: that's great, Okay, cool, we got this and it's on
- 8:26Speaker 6: this chain doing this thing, and we're like, we can't
- 8:29Speaker 6: really do much with that. I mean it's like the
- 8:31Speaker 6: amount of work to make that interoperable would be very difficult.
- 8:34Speaker 6: But I do think what we're seeing the benefit is
- 8:37Speaker 6: they have experimented, which is great. But I do think,
- 8:39Speaker 6: like I said, I think if you start having a
- 8:41Speaker 6: game like a FIFA Rivals that we're getting one hundred
- 8:44Speaker 6: million people playing, it does become a platform, right, So
- 8:49Speaker 6: suddenly leagues can come in and run their own stuff
- 8:51Speaker 6: and they can have their own Web three initiatives, but
- 8:53Speaker 6: it can become the basis of esports for different groups.
- 8:56Speaker 6: It could become the basis of tournament structures or way
- 8:59Speaker 6: even Web threes strategies right of how they want to
- 9:01Speaker 6: deliver Web three to their audience.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so that is a big deal because it starts
- 9:05Speaker 1: to affect a lot of these games, especially what he's
- 9:07Speaker 1: talking about with FIFA rivals. Here's four games that people
- 9:11Speaker 1: are looking for. Pudge Party, which we know is going
- 9:13Speaker 1: to come, Creeps is coming in right there, FIFA rivals,
- 9:16Speaker 1: and he is right. It will potentially create platform, especially
- 9:20Speaker 1: when you look at the leagues that could be around
- 9:22Speaker 1: this and playing into this, because it is a global
- 9:25Speaker 1: sport that has a ridiculous amount of fans and very
- 9:30Speaker 1: rabid fans. So I think there is a huge opportunity.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So the step away from Algorand is a big one.
- 9:36Speaker 1: One thing on mythical is that it's not just related
- 9:39Speaker 1: to the soccer ecosystem. Here you have NFL rivals. Obviously
- 9:42Speaker 1: the draft just happened this last weekend. This is going
- 9:45Speaker 1: to open up a lot of opportunity. In fact, so
- 9:48Speaker 1: much they had an all time high at forty three
- 9:50Speaker 1: million in NFT sales volume. So you can see this
- 9:54Speaker 1: and of course this is being connected to Polka Dot.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You can see how all of this is going to
- 9:58Speaker 1: start really making it's way into many of these organizations
- 10:03Speaker 1: and only get bigger. Here's the CEO of Mythical talking
- 10:06Speaker 1: about the potential.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 10:09Speaker 7: Madden on mobile is about twenty five million players a year.
- 10:12Speaker 7: NFL Rivals is already six and a half million after
- 10:15Speaker 7: eighteen months. Chief of though, the old chief of mobile
- 10:17Speaker 7: game in a World Cup year five hundred million players
- 10:20Speaker 7: a year on mobile, CHIFA Mobile during the World Cup
- 10:22Speaker 7: twenty twenty two it had eighty five million daily players,
- 10:26Speaker 7: more than Roadblocks, more than Fortnite. It was bigger than
- 10:29Speaker 7: both those games.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Get that in your head, guys, more than Roadblocks and Fortnite.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's how big of an opportunity we could see. Polka
- 10:37Speaker 1: Dot Hub is also coming soon, enabling you to deploy
- 10:41Speaker 1: smart contracts. This will be going into where we're going
- 10:43Speaker 1: to see this on ethereum. This again goes back to
- 10:46Speaker 1: the point of FIFA saying we are going to choose
- 10:49Speaker 1: or go into possibly multi chain. I would think in
- 10:52Speaker 1: the sense of being able to just be in the
- 10:54Speaker 1: ethereum ecosystem.
- 10:55Speaker 2: They understand that it has these huge opportunities.
- 10:58Speaker 1: If you take a look at albrahim And right now
- 11:01Speaker 1: from its height to where it is right now, I
- 11:03Speaker 1: just don't know that this project is going to come
- 11:04Speaker 1: back from this unless there is something big brewing in
- 11:08Speaker 1: the Algorand ecosystem that we haven't seen. Let me know
- 11:11Speaker 1: in the comments if you guys think that that's happening
- 11:14Speaker 1: out there. And of course if you're an Algorand holder,
- 11:17Speaker 1: this is probably what you feel like right now.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Today. I feel gay today, I feel disabled.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So I completely understand where the Algoran investors are right now,
- 11:41Speaker 1: and it's not you know, we see projects like this
- 11:44Speaker 1: that go down don't come back. It happens in every cycle.
- 11:48Speaker 1: The key here is narrative, it is sentiment. Is how
- 11:52Speaker 1: partnerships are built and are they executed. That is the
- 11:56Speaker 1: key for any project out there. So when you guys
- 11:58Speaker 1: are selecting no financial advice, those are the things you
- 12:01Speaker 1: need to look for that are very very interesting cornerstones
- 12:06Speaker 1: that every project should have in its place. Get in
- 12:09Speaker 1: on a diamond circle. If you're not there right now,
- 12:10Speaker 1: it's a great place to get additional content from me
- 12:13Speaker 1: and hit me up on x at Paul Baron. We'll
- 12:16Speaker 1: catch you next time, right here on Techpath
