A Hertz employee called police after a customer allegedly tried to rent a car with a fake ID, while exit staff pretended the rental system was down to delay him. Officers took the man into custody after a foot pursuit, and he was charged with identity theft of information to obtain money, resisting an officer, and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
