- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:43hypnosis session all about self belief.
- 0:46And I was working with a client that really felt that they had
- 0:49the capabilities, but sometimes they felt a bit of an imposter.
- 0:54They felt this imposter syndrome that they couldn't really step
- 0:58in and take more of a leadership or managerial kind of position.
- 1:04And what's really, really important is that if there is
- 1:07this feeling that you're not quite ready, then what can
- 1:10happen is that you don't even attempt to take on more
- 1:14responsibility or even apply for promotions and things like that.
- 1:19So if you can connect with the idea of not being quite ready
- 1:24to, let's say, progress in your career or in your life in a
- 1:27different area, this is all about self belief because.
- 1:31The Great. Thing about self belief is that
- 1:34it opens up the resources to create positive self fulfilling
- 1:38prophecies in the same way that doubt does it the other way
- 1:41round. If you don't think you're quite
- 1:44ready or good enough, you won't even do the things that could
- 1:48lead to you figuring out that you can.
- 1:51But if you have that self belief, and even if the self
- 1:53belief isn't that you're currently capable, but that you
- 1:57can learn to be capable. That's.
- 1:59Also an advantage now, this specific client had recently got
- 2:03into this managerial position, but they didn't feel fully
- 2:09comfortable yet and that's completely natural.
- 2:12Because you're not. Going to have all of the
- 2:14knowledge and all of the skills of all these different new
- 2:17responsibilities on day one, but believing that as time goes by,
- 2:23you can get more and more confident, more and more
- 2:26comfortable with those responsibilities again, create
- 2:30this real feeling of now I can handle this and I don't need to
- 2:33know everything right now. So if you can connect with that
- 2:37idea and maybe you already have that new responsibility and
- 2:41you've got doubts about whether or not you can handle it or
- 2:45maybe you want to apply for the next position up.
- 2:48This will be a session that you can get some value from it was
- 2:52created. For an individual.
- 2:54And they happen to be managing a spa, a retreat that's quite
- 2:59specific, some of the responsibilities like payroll
- 3:02and managing staff that might be unique to them and not quite
- 3:06right for you. So you can ignore any
- 3:08suggestions that don't quite fit your suggestions and your
- 3:11situation and hone into the beliefs of the changes that
- 3:15would be really useful to you. And if you like the idea of
- 3:19having hypnotherapy entirely customized to your specific
- 3:23situation, have a look in the description or my website,
- 3:26adamcox.co.uk, and you'll see that you can book a completely
- 3:30free consultation call to explore working with me.
- 3:33For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place, the kind of
- 3:36lace where you're not going to be.
- 3:38Distracted or disturbed, relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:12Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:20long, deep, relaxing breath, and as you exhale, feel a wonderful
- 4:30feeling of release, as if tension, stress, and
- 4:36insecurities are starting to leave your body in that outward
- 4:42breath. Breathe in a feeling of
- 4:46worthiness and exhale any of those feelings of not quite
- 4:56being enough. Breathe in a feeling of
- 5:01confidence, and as you exhale, allow any anxieties to feel like
- 5:09they're melting away, leaving your body in that outward
- 5:15breath. That's it.
- 5:20Eyelids feeling heavier, jaw feeling looser, and just connect
- 5:26with that wonderful feeling of resourcefulness.
- 5:34I want you to get a sense then you have a track record
- 5:40throughout your life of doing things that you couldn't do
- 5:47before, and I want you to get a sense then that will always be
- 5:57true. There'll always be new things to
- 6:01learn, new things to understand, new problems to solve, but each
- 6:12and every time you do so, I want you to get a feeling that you're
- 6:19better prepared for the next time.
- 6:23Like it. I want you to imagine sitting in
- 6:29a chair in an old fashioned cinema and on the screen I want
- 6:37you to imagine seeing yourself like a character in a movie.
- 6:44One of those time loop movies where the day or the week
- 6:49repeats again and again and again.
- 6:55And I want. You to think of a day that would
- 6:58be the most overwhelming, demanding, difficult or
- 7:04stressful day possible. But see that version of you on
- 7:10that screen, confident, resourceful, conscientious and
- 7:16dedicated. And just imagine on day one, Of
- 7:23course, on such a demanding day, things will be missed, mistakes
- 7:30will happen, and that's OK. But imagine seeing that version
- 7:37of you waking up and reliving that day again, but keeping all
- 7:47of the knowledge and experience from the day before.
- 7:54I want you to get a sense that day 2 of exactly the same
- 7:59challenges would lead to a very different response.
- 8:05You'd be more prepared. You would understand all the
- 8:11different connotations. You would know what options work
- 8:16or don't work. Day 2 would feel easier than day
- 8:21one, and day three would feel easier than day 2.
- 8:30And I want you to skip forward to day 100 of the most
- 8:36difficult, overwhelming, demanding day possible.
- 8:41And with 99 days of already experiencing every possibility,
- 8:51your conscious and unconscious mind knows that it would be a
- 8:56walk in the park. It would be easy for you.
- 9:04And I want. That thought to fuel the belief
- 9:10that things get easier with experience, not because the
- 9:16demands get easier, but because you become better.
- 9:23If your unconscious agrees, let me know by nodding your head.
- 9:30That's it. Just allow that screen to turn
- 9:37to darkness and instead create an image on the screen of a
- 9:43wonderful place in nature. The kind of place that you feel
- 9:48connected, invigorated and inspired.
- 9:56And then imagine floating into that cinema screen and being in
- 10:02that place. Imagine being in that beauty,
- 10:08that nature, and connect to that feeling of feeling relaxed,
- 10:17connected, inspired, empowered. That's it.
- 10:27And I want you to imagine there's a nice comfortable chair
- 10:30in that place. In nature there shouldn't be,
- 10:33but there is. And imagine relaxing in that
- 10:38comfortable chair that's in. And I want you to imagine
- 10:48breathing in and breathing out, because this place, this place
- 10:53in nature is like your own inner retreat, a sanctuary for your
- 11:01soul. And I want you to imagine what
- 11:06it would be like to feel like you're drifting deeper and
- 11:12deeper down within yourself. Your shoulders relax.
- 11:20You breathe at that pace, that rhythm, that familiar zone where
- 11:26the subconscious becomes receptive, clear, focused,
- 11:32perhaps ready to upgrade. I don't want you to imagine
- 11:39drifting into a dream like sleep, where you're standing in
- 11:45front of a door, a door labeled capability.
- 11:53On the next inward breath, breathe in at capability, and on
- 11:58the next exhale, imagine stepping through and beyond the
- 12:05door is a different, calm, grounded space.
- 12:12A space where your best qualities rise to the surface,
- 12:17where doubts dissolve, and where your inner leader takes shape.
- 12:27I want you to imagine in that place, deep within your
- 12:32subconscious mind, with every single breath, you feel that you
- 12:39can do this. You can learn this.
- 12:45You can become excellent at this, because to become
- 12:52excellent at anything it requires doubt.
- 12:59But when you move beyond the doubt, you gain new levels of
- 13:04competency. The arrogant and the complacent
- 13:10don't have doubts, but they don't have drive and they never
- 13:16reach excellence. I want you to think of all of
- 13:23those what ifs. What if you're not smart enough?
- 13:29What if it's too much? What if I cave?
- 13:33What if I sabotage in? And I want you to think those
- 13:38not as problems, but as questions to protect you.
- 13:43They're not there to harm you, and they were never evidence of
- 13:49weakness. They were evidence that you
- 13:53care, evidence that you take responsibility seriously,
- 14:00evidence that you want to excel. And from now on, you treat those
- 14:06thoughts as signals, not threats.
- 14:10Signals that you're engaged, awake, committed, and willing to
- 14:15grow. That's leadership.
- 14:21You care and are striving to reach the level of capability
- 14:26and competency to easily exceed the demands of those
- 14:33responsibilities. And I wonder if you could
- 14:39imagine a quiet confidence rising up through you, a deep
- 14:45sense deep within that you can learn anything that you need to
- 14:48learn. Because you can and because you
- 14:53will. Every task, every challenge,
- 15:00every unknown becomes a lesson, a chance to build capability, a
- 15:10chance to sharpen judgement, chance to evolve as a leader.
- 15:19And you don't need to know everything today, because you
- 15:23can't. You only need the ability to
- 15:28learn, to adapt, and to grow. And your life right now is
- 15:35evidence that that ability is already within you.
- 15:42But feel it's strengthening now as you start to believe that
- 15:50mistakes are not failures, they are fuel.
- 15:55And in this new role, you don't fear mistakes, you utilize them.
- 16:08Some people worry, what if something goes wrong?
- 16:13Within a role with big responsibilities, it's not a
- 16:18question of if something goes wrong, something will go wrong.
- 16:24And that's not a problem when you reflect and you adjust and
- 16:31you improve and you step forward stronger, clearer, and sharper
- 16:37than before. Failure is just a feedback loop,
- 16:47crucial in that Groundhog Day to improve the next day, because
- 16:55you're becoming the kind of leader and manager who improves
- 17:00rapidly, because you learn rapidly.
- 17:06You don't want mistakes and setbacks, but if they arise, you
- 17:12will learn from them quickly. I want you to get a sense that
- 17:20your insecurities are becoming your awareness.
- 17:24And from now on, if you feel a block, a dip in energy, a wave
- 17:31of worry, or a sense of something being off, a sense
- 17:39that you're wading through thick Dewey mud, you do not spiral and
- 17:48you do not continue. Some people believe that the
- 17:54definition of insanity is doing the same things and expecting
- 17:58different results. So instead of stubbornness or
- 18:03spiraling, you observe, you reflect, you re evaluate, and
- 18:13then you make a decision about what needs to change or who you
- 18:20need to communicate to. Because your intuition is not an
- 18:27enemy, it's your ally. Your emotions become data and
- 18:35information, not danger. When your sensations become a
- 18:41feedback loop, not fear. This is what you evolving fast
- 18:50looks and feels like. You'll know ostrich with a head
- 18:56in the sand. You're paying attention, looking
- 19:02for opportunities to reflect and refine, and I want you to
- 19:09imagine yourself three months into this new role and thriving.
- 19:18I want you to imagine yourself breezing through scheduling.
- 19:27Payroll is something that feels like it matters.
- 19:33The very lifeblood of the organization, the people, the
- 19:40vital organs. I want you to get a sense that
- 19:47that version of you is doing the best they can with the resources
- 19:55they have, and those resources are becoming more and more
- 20:00capable and competent with every passing week.
- 20:05Imagine yourself handling challenges with calm authority.
- 20:11Imagine yourself communicating clearly, leading with
- 20:14confidence, making decisions with grounded wisdom, turning
- 20:22uncertainty into clarity, turning problems into progress,
- 20:29and learning something each day that makes you better in the
- 20:33next. Feel this identity forming,
- 20:40routing, locking into place. The identity of someone who
- 20:46grows, evolves, learns, leads, and succeeds.
- 20:54I want you to step into that future version of you and just
- 20:59imagine a crisis, a challenge, something overwhelming.
- 21:07And I want you to feel that you have all of the resources to
- 21:12deal with that well. Not perfectly, but well, because
- 21:20that's the best outcome. You handle something
- 21:26professionally, competently, and still extract wisdom and
- 21:31learning that could enhance the next similar situation and in
- 21:39that moment, feel the truth of what is happening.
- 21:44Feel that you can do this. You.
- 21:48Are doing this, and you're only getting better and better.
- 21:56And allow that truth to sink deep into your subconscious like
- 22:00a seed in fertile soil. A new default setting, a new
- 22:07expectation, a new identity. Imagine waking up tomorrow with
- 22:20even more self belief, self-confidence, A belief that
- 22:25this will work out well, that you're smart enough, capable
- 22:33enough, and learn fast enough. Get a sense of that renewed
- 22:40energy, grounded clarity, that courage, that wisdom, that
- 22:46confidence, that optimism that things will go well.
- 23:00You are capable. You are adaptable.
- 23:02You are resilient and that will only compound like a snowball
- 23:10rolling down a mountain because what you learn is built and what
- 23:16you've learned before. And I want you to get a sense, a
- 23:25sense of ease, alignment, that either something or someone has
- 23:34your back, that you are supported and encouraged on this
- 23:41exciting new chapter. And imagine leaving that
- 23:52sanctuary in your mind, walking back through the door, the door
- 23:57that says capability, but now it says capability and leadership.
- 24:07Imagine yourself going back to that comfortable chair in that
- 24:11place in nature. And then imagine leaving that
- 24:16chair and floating back through a screen in an old cinema back
- 24:21into your body. And then imagine starting to
- 24:25float all the way back into your physical body.
- 24:29Now the here, the now, the present, but taking all of these
- 24:35wonderful thoughts, ideas, strategies and beliefs with you
- 24:40with a whole new sense of self, belief and worthiness.
- 24:45So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 24:50nose. Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your
- 24:54toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 24:56here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 25:04you. Starting to count 123 waking up
