- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, it's bald Cubby and Christine in the morning,
- 0:02Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM and producer Kristen.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:06Speaker 3: It happened yesterday.
- 0:08Speaker 4: Aw.
- 0:08Speaker 3: But this time a different class.
- 0:10Speaker 1: So if you were listening a couple weeks ago, I
- 0:12Speaker 1: mentioned how whenever I pick up my son Miles at daycare,
- 0:15Speaker 1: when I go up the stairs and into his room,
- 0:18Speaker 1: the kids will kind of giggle a little bit and go, oh, look,
- 0:20Speaker 1: he has no hair, he's bald, blah, blah, blah.
- 0:23Speaker 3: And it happens almost every day.
- 0:25Speaker 1: It's not like the whole room laughing every day, but
- 0:27Speaker 1: it will always be pointed out. Well, yesterday, yesterday I
- 0:32Speaker 1: walk into daycare.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And I'm not even at Miles' room yet.
- 0:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 0:36Speaker 1: This is a whole new set of kids. And they're
- 0:39Speaker 1: coming down the hall with the teacher holding their hand.
- 0:41Speaker 1: They're just coming back from the bathroom.
- 0:43Speaker 3: There's a line of like 12 kids.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Some kid in the middle.
- 0:46Speaker 1: He has no hair. I couldn't even get to Miles'
- 0:50Speaker 1: room and they're coming at me.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Are you okay, Cubby?
- 0:53Speaker 1: But like you said, Christine, have they never seen anybody
- 0:57Speaker 1: with no hair?
- 0:58Speaker 2: There's no bald ear? like because they're everywhere you guys
- 1:01Speaker 2: are everywhere apparently.
- 1:03Speaker 3: All the fathers are people that work at.
- 1:04Speaker 1: This daycare that pick their kids up or whatever have
- 1:07Speaker 1: hair and i'm the only person so anyway i got
- 1:10Speaker 1: a kick out of it a kick out of it
- 1:12Speaker 1: i thought of you guys immediately.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yes so but you're really okay this isn't triggering anything.
- 1:17Speaker 1: No i i i insecurities not at all not at
- 1:21Speaker 1: all because now i you know i probably could grow
- 1:23Speaker 1: a little bit a little bit.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Of hair but would it make a difference to them?
- 1:27Speaker 3: No, no.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So I just, you know, just buzz it. Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 3: How was your day? Can you top that? Anybody make
- 1:32Speaker 3: fun of you yesterday?
- 1:33Speaker 5: Nope.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Nobody made fun of me, but boy, did we eat.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Where'd you go?
- 1:37Speaker 2: We ate like crazy yesterday, Cubby. I talked about this place, Velardo's.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's a deli that's in Nutley, New Jersey.
- 1:43Speaker 3: I've heard you mention that.
- 1:44Speaker 2: That like exploded, went viral. I don't know who made
- 1:48Speaker 2: the discovery and started posting, but... Velardo's. Yeah. It's gone nuts.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And there it was like down the street the whole time, right?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Eric and I could have gone anytime, but as soon
- 1:58Speaker 2: as I see it on Instagram and I see these sandwiches...
- 2:00Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, we have to try that, too. So
- 2:03Speaker 2: I went there yesterday afternoon and it was late in
- 2:07Speaker 2: the afternoon. There was still a line.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Oh, you're thinking maybe nobody's.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Going to be there there. And I'm telling you, it's
- 2:13Speaker 2: worth it. It's OK. There was a line. They move
- 2:15Speaker 2: along quickly and they're very polite. They're not rude. They're
- 2:18Speaker 2: not like we want. They're not like that at all.
- 2:20Speaker 2: They're like, you know, nice family owned business. I walked in.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Two guys were outside filming. Like they were filming each
- 2:27Speaker 2: other having the sandwiches. I'm like, okay, this must be
- 2:30Speaker 2: the spot. And the sandwiches that have gone viral is
- 2:34Speaker 2: this buffalo chicken salad wrap.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Don't mention that right now. I'm so hungry.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Like chipotle chicken paninis.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Please stop.
- 2:43Speaker 2: My stomach is growling. I kept sending Eric pictures of
- 2:47Speaker 2: the sign and looking at the place like, which one
- 2:49Speaker 2: do you want? Which one? And he kept switching it.
- 2:52Speaker 2: First he started with eggplant and I was like, okay,
- 2:55Speaker 2: you sure you want eggplant? Because the viral ones are
- 2:57Speaker 2: the chicken. And then he looks, he's like, okay, no, chicken, chicken.
- 3:00Speaker 2: But I was in line so long. And he's like, okay,
- 3:02Speaker 2: come on. No, I'm changing it again. Coming in with
- 3:04Speaker 2: the number 10. How do you spell the name of
- 3:05Speaker 2: this place? Velardo's. V-I-L-A-R-D-O-S. Velardo's Deli in Nutley, New Jersey. Oh,
- 3:16Speaker 2: how nice. Do you see those sandwiches on there?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So I want to go back. I want like the
- 3:21Speaker 2: Italian sub sandwich. I want all these different chicken ones.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I'm showing Kristen.
- 3:25Speaker 2: That's a nice plug for them. I mean, they were unbelievable.
- 3:29Speaker 3: 250 High Street, Nutley, New Jersey.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Velardo's.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yep.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Deli and catering.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Wow.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I'll be coming back because I want to try more
- 3:36Speaker 2: of the sandwiches. And, you know, we got two different
- 3:39Speaker 2: ones so we could split them and both try them.
- 3:41Speaker 2: And it was just sandwich coma after that. It was
- 3:45Speaker 2: so good.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Did your eyes roll back?
- 3:46Speaker 2: It was like that.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 2: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> Well, yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:52Speaker 5: Um.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Glad you had a good lunch.
- 3:54Speaker 2: So that was my day.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: We're coming right back with two pretty cool things. Valardos,
- 3:58Speaker 1: come visit us.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I am hungry.
- 4:00Speaker 4: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Okay.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I need to tell you two things.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Covey and Christine's.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Two pretty cool things. I find this extremely cool. I
- 4:14Speaker 1: don't know if Vanna White finds it cool. Did you
- 4:17Speaker 1: know over 3,500 men have written letters proposing marriage to
- 4:21Speaker 1: Vanna White?
- 4:22Speaker 5: Oh.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Surprises are not more after all these years.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what she says. It's like almost as much
- 4:29Speaker 1: as you. All the letters we get here at Light FM.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Just closing in on my record.
- 4:34Speaker 1: What would that be like to get a letter written
- 4:36Speaker 1: to you, like proposing to you?
- 4:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Do you tear it up?
- 4:41Speaker 1: Do you save it?
- 4:42Speaker 3: $ 3, 500?
- 4:43Speaker 1: Look, she got $ 3, 500.
- 4:45Speaker 3: One's got to.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Be, you know. No, she missed out. I don't think
- 4:49Speaker 2: she followed up on any of those.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Probably don't date.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Viewers, whatever.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I'm sure she's got some rules.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:57Speaker 1: And you have a cool thing.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Some boundaries.
- 4:58Speaker 3: What do you have?

- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Light FM.
- 6:29Speaker 4: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Good morning. It's Cubby and Christine on Light FM with
- 6:36Speaker 1: producer Kristen. And how often do we talk about hottest
- 6:39Speaker 1: fashion and hottest TV shows? And hottest movies. There's a
- 6:44Speaker 1: hot everything. We want to make sure you're up to
- 6:47Speaker 1: date on all the trends.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Now, when it comes to the ladies.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yes, Cubby?
- 6:51Speaker 3: What is the hottest haircut to have?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Oh, I'm so glad that you asked.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Because there is a haircut of the season, isn't there?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yes, this one is taking off, apparently, according to our hairdressers.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It's called the Bixie.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Hang on.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It is the haircut of 2026. With a B?
- 7:07Speaker 1: Bixie?
- 7:07Speaker 2: The Bixie.
- 7:08Speaker 3: The Bixie.
- 7:09Speaker 2: It's a mashup of a bob and a pixie cut.
- 7:13Speaker 2: And according to stylists, it's one of the most requested
- 7:16Speaker 2: haircuts of the year. They said, like, it's a look
- 7:20Speaker 2: back to, you know, how the 90s have become pretty
- 7:22Speaker 2: popular once again. So they said celebs like Winona Ryder,
- 7:25Speaker 2: Cameron Diaz, Meg Ryan. That look that they had in
- 7:29Speaker 2: the 90s, you know, that little choppy haircut?
- 7:30Speaker 5: Yeah, totally.
- 7:31Speaker 2: That is making a major comeback.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So go back and watch old Melrose places and Beverly
- 7:36Speaker 1: Hills 90210.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Okay, thank you, Kristen.
- 7:39Speaker 1: She is showing you a picture.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Oh, Kristen, thank you.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 5: See?
- 7:43Speaker 3: It is very 90s.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Looks like 90s. There's Halle Berry. It looks gorgeous, yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 3: It's very Friends.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Like, I picture, like, a Courtney Cox with that.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Right, but shorter.
- 7:52Speaker 3: But shorter than that.
- 7:52Speaker 2: It's short because it's, yeah, it's a little combo between
- 7:56Speaker 2: a Bob and a Pixie. Well, it's not long. I
- 7:59Speaker 2: know a lot of time you guys like long hair.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Well.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Are you one of those guys, by the way? Because
- 8:04Speaker 2: there's so many guys who've said that, that they prefer
- 8:06Speaker 2: long hair.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Prefer long hair?
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I don't care, really. It's a good question.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Like, I've... long or short.
- 8:14Speaker 2: You'll take it.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Just breathing.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Just show up for the date. So experts say the
- 8:20Speaker 2: Bixi works on a wide range of hair types, especially
- 8:23Speaker 2: straight and wavy, adding volume and texture for people with
- 8:26Speaker 2: finer hair, and even better, it grows out very nicely,
- 8:29Speaker 2: meaning fewer trips to the salon. My hairdresser, Christina, is listening.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Maybe she knows what I'm talking about. I don't know
- 8:35Speaker 2: if I would go that short.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I'd be curious to hear from hairdressers right now.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 8:39Speaker 3: If they're hearing about the Bixi.
- 8:41Speaker 1: You can text us at 44363, but it says here
- 8:45Speaker 1: the length falls between the ears and the chin.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so not a lot of extra for those of
- 8:50Speaker 2: us who are insecure and pulling hair around our faces.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yeah, but right, very 90s.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 3: All right, what do you have coming up in the news?
- 8:56Speaker 2: We're going to check out the headlines and exactly how
- 8:59Speaker 2: long can you leave your cat home by himself?
- 9:02Speaker 4: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Hey, thank you for having us on. It's Cubby, Christine,
- 9:08Speaker 1: producer Kristen. On this Tuesday morning, and you were telling me, Christine,
- 9:14Speaker 1: because I have a daughter.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I have a son, too. But because I have a daughter,
- 9:18Speaker 3: that might mean something.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yes. Might mean that you'd make an excellent boss.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Well, those days have passed.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Wait a minute.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I had the chance.
- 9:28Speaker 2: No. You're saying there's a chance?
- 9:30Speaker 3: What does this mean, though? Why would I be a
- 9:32Speaker 3: good boss?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Okay, so we'll circle back to when Cubby had a chance.
- 9:36Speaker 3: That's a boss term right there.
- 9:37Speaker 2: That is a boss term right there. But yeah, apparently
- 9:40Speaker 2: girl dads are quote-unquote better bosses. So this is a
- 9:44Speaker 2: study over researchers that looked at so many different companies
- 9:48Speaker 2: and they find this pattern that when you have a
- 9:51Speaker 2: male boss who raised daughters, he is more likely to
- 9:55Speaker 2: hire women, promote women... and even help close the pay gap.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I love it. All right.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Well, we have a good boss here, though. So we can't,
- 10:04Speaker 1: I don't know if they're... Well, we.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Have a female boss.
- 10:06Speaker 3: A female boss.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Which is wonderful.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah. But this is about specifically with the guys. The
- 10:12Speaker 2: theory is that having a daughter makes gender inequality more
- 10:15Speaker 2: personal and easier to recognize.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:18Speaker 2: So no surprise, research found companies didn't suffer any drop
- 10:21Speaker 2: in performance when more women were hired and promoted. So
- 10:24Speaker 2: if you've got a boss who's a proud girl dad,
- 10:27Speaker 2: science says he just might be a little more tuned
- 10:29Speaker 2: into workplace fairness. And again, that equal pay and hiring,
- 10:33Speaker 2: promoting women.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's very interesting.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Something we definitely look for, an attribute in a boss.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So go for it, Cubby.
- 10:41Speaker 3: You know, I never was a boss. I had the
- 10:43Speaker 3: opportunity one time.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I was wondering about that.
- 10:46Speaker 1: This was a long time ago when I was working
- 10:47Speaker 1: in Houston.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Oh, back, all the way back.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Before I came to Z100.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I was about ready to depart because I got the
- 10:55Speaker 1: job offer here in New York. And the general manager
- 10:58Speaker 1: at the radio station I was working at in Houston said,
- 11:00Speaker 1: was like, would you like to be program director here?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Would you be the boss? And I was the MD,
- 11:06Speaker 1: the music director at that radio station at the time.
- 11:08Speaker 1: So that would have been a promotion and I would
- 11:10Speaker 1: have been in charge of the programming team and I'd
- 11:12Speaker 1: be interacting with the sales department, all that kind of stuff.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Lots of responsibility.
- 11:16Speaker 3: And I said, thank you so much. And I said, no.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And I came to New York and I, looking back,
- 11:23Speaker 1: things worked out, but I was also coming into a situation.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I didn't know how it was going to work out here.
- 11:28Speaker 1: So I had an easy, I could have said yes
- 11:31Speaker 1: and probably still been there right now. But the responsibility,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I just, nothing but props and respect to bosses because
- 11:37Speaker 1: you just have different personalities coming at you.
- 11:39Speaker 3: You have to put out fires all the time.
- 11:42Speaker 1: You have to, I don't know what your job is,
- 11:44Speaker 1: but here in radio, we have to talk to the
- 11:46Speaker 1: sales department a lot. And then we talk to the DJs.
- 11:49Speaker 1: We have to talk to the record labels, get the music.
- 11:51Speaker 1: There's so much going on.
- 11:52Speaker 2: There's got to be something rewarding in there that people
- 11:54Speaker 2: want to do it though.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:56Speaker 3: And I feel like the people that are doing it.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 3: They're cut out for it. That's why they're doing it.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Right.
- 12:01Speaker 2: There's a certain personality type that's cut out for that.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I like talking to you every morning and leaving at 10.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:06Speaker 1: And we're done.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Pretty much.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 3: We're coming right back, though, with more music. Taylor Swift,
- 12:12Speaker 3: Light FM.
- 12:12Speaker 4: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 12:18Speaker 1: 6.58 on this Tuesday morning. Christine has everything you need
- 12:21Speaker 1: to know right now. Christine, good morning.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Good morning, Cubby, and happy National Coffee Day. Don't forget,
- 12:26Speaker 2: there's deals all over the place, so make sure you
- 12:28Speaker 2: get your coffee today. Cleanup efforts continue here around New
- 12:32Speaker 2: York City, Queens, Brooklyn, Jersey Shore, hit hard by the
- 12:36Speaker 2: storms this past weekend. So crews have been out there nonstop.
- 12:40Speaker 2: President Trump hosting an AI summit at the White House today.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Fears are growing over its possible threat to humanity. Lindsay
- 12:48Speaker 2: Clancy expected back in a Massachusetts courtroom today as prosecutors
- 12:52Speaker 2: decide whether to retry her in the deaths of her
- 12:55Speaker 2: three children. And actor Dennis Haskins, best known as Principal
- 12:59Speaker 2: Richard Belding on Saved by the Bell, has passed away.
- 13:02Speaker 2: 75 years old, he did have Parkinson's, although no cause
- 13:06Speaker 2: of death has been confirmed. Powerball jackpot is rolling over.
- 13:10Speaker 2: No big winner. So we're up to $ 409 million on
- 13:12Speaker 2: Wednesday tonight. If you want to go for the mega millions,
- 13:18Speaker 2: that is $ 300 million. In sports, this is a big one.
- 13:23Speaker 2: This is very important. Yankees are going to host the
- 13:26Speaker 2: Red Sox tonight, game one of the wild card series.
- 13:30Speaker 1: And it's important because it's only a three-game series. Yes.
- 13:33Speaker 1: You don't want to fall behind 0-1.
- 13:35Speaker 5: No.
- 13:35Speaker 1: So you've got to win this, guys.
- 13:36Speaker 2: We're looking for the win, of course. NBA, WNBA, Liberty
- 13:39Speaker 2: will play the Lynx game two of the playoffs tonight
- 13:42Speaker 2: at 830. Monday night football, Bears beat the Eagles 27-7. And, Cubby,
- 13:47Speaker 2: you may ask yourself, how long can I leave my
- 13:49Speaker 2: cat alone?
- 13:50Speaker 3: I think about that, actually, because we do quick day
- 13:53Speaker 3: or two trips.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Are they okay?
- 13:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You guys have company. Correct. I think it's better when
- 13:59Speaker 2: they have company. I just have one, Archie. How long
- 14:01Speaker 2: can he be by himself? According to vets, 8 to
- 14:04Speaker 2: 12 hours.
- 14:05Speaker 5: What?
- 14:06Speaker 2: That's all he can tolerate.
- 14:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 14:08Speaker 1: If you have a litter box and enough dry food
- 14:10Speaker 1: and water, shouldn't it be longer than that?
- 14:12Speaker 2: They're not happy after that.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Oh.
- 14:14Speaker 3: This is.
- 14:15Speaker 2: This is so funny.
- 14:15Speaker 3: It's not just about their stomach and their food.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It's about their overall well-being. I was telling Eric about
- 14:21Speaker 2: this yesterday and he said the same reaction you did.
- 14:24Speaker 5: What?
- 14:25Speaker 2: He's like, we can't go out.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Right. Right.
- 14:27Speaker 2: And I'm like, well, he does. He gets upset when
- 14:29Speaker 2: we go out.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Well, leave the windows open so we can watch Squirrels,
- 14:32Speaker 1: which I know you do.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Or maybe leave the TV on.
- 14:35Speaker 1: You told me he's become a big fan of the TV.
- 14:37Speaker 2: No, he's got a problem with the TV and his
- 14:40Speaker 2: cat TV. He's been cut off.
- 14:42Speaker 3: You're trying to limit screen time on your cat.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yes, she's not a good influence, yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 14:52Speaker 1: We got a save the date for a friend of
- 14:54Speaker 1: ours for a wedding coming up in April of next year.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 14:57Speaker 3: My niece is getting married in two weeks in Virginia.
- 15:00Speaker 3: We're going to that.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Is that a big wedding?
- 15:02Speaker 1: That's going to be, apparently, for my sister, it's going
- 15:05Speaker 1: to be a pretty big shadoo. Is it shadoo?
- 15:10Speaker 3: No.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Shabang?
- 15:11Speaker 2: Shabang.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Shabang.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Shabang.
- 15:13Speaker 3: It's a pretty big to-do.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 2: To-do. There you go. You got it.
- 15:16Speaker 3: 23 skidoo?
- 15:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Remember that?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Back in the 20s, they would say that. The Little Rascals.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Of course.
- 15:20Speaker 5: 23 skidoo.
- 15:21Speaker 3: But yeah, so that's happening Columbus Day weekend.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, because I was going to ask you,
- 15:25Speaker 2: what type of venue?
- 15:27Speaker 3: It's one of those over-the-top ones, I think.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Again, it's in Virginia, so I don't know too much
- 15:32Speaker 3: about it.
- 15:32Speaker 1: But I know there's a lot of tables and all that.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Just because there's trends right now, especially for 2027, and
- 15:40Speaker 2: the wedding venues, people are going for unconventional venues. They're
- 15:44Speaker 2: skipping traditional ones and hosting their wedding parties.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Like in a shed?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Beach clubs. A shed would work for us. Beach clubs, townhomes,
- 15:52Speaker 2: sports arenas, and spas. I think only Taylor did a
- 15:55Speaker 2: sports arena. Well, a sports arena, yeah. And spas.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Okay.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I don't know. So, yeah, I was just wondering. So
- 16:01Speaker 2: more low-key? Like, no, but different, unconventional. Like, not a
- 16:05Speaker 2: wedding hall. Do you know what I mean? Like, people
- 16:07Speaker 2: are looking for something different.
- 16:08Speaker 1: And that's where I think my niece is having it,
- 16:09Speaker 1: at a banquet hall.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Okay. So something you, it's not necessarily downplaying.
- 16:14Speaker 1: It, but like you said, it's unusual.
- 16:15Speaker 2: It's just different.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Maybe, like, I don't know, at Urban Air.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Okay. Okay.
- 16:21Speaker 2: And then sophisticated colors are definitely going to be in.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Bold color palettes, shades of merlot, plum, moss greens, powdery
- 16:29Speaker 2: blue are going to lead the way. Secondary colors like
- 16:32Speaker 2: blush pink and champagne are in. Antique lace. These are
- 16:36Speaker 2: all the wedding trends for 2027. This is what's trending.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Already featured in bridal gowns and veils, the romantic fabric
- 16:42Speaker 2: will be showing up in details like tablescapes and wedding stationery.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Very big year for swans and ballet corps.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Like where? Like in the decorations?
- 16:53Speaker 2: In the aesthetic, Cubby. Yeah, all of it.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Swans and what?
- 16:56Speaker 2: Swans mate for life, and they form a heart with
- 16:59Speaker 2: their bodies during courtships.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Oh, like when you go on a cruise and they
- 17:02Speaker 1: make the towels?
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 17:04Speaker 3: And they bend the towels and the swans.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Are hugging each other?
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yes, and they love each other.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Okay, now I got the visual.
- 17:09Speaker 2: It's going to be something like that. Single floral designs
- 17:11Speaker 2: using blooms like hydrangea or wisteria becoming more popular. Flowers
- 17:16Speaker 2: like poppies are also appearing up. appearing in bouquets and
- 17:20Speaker 2: wedding attire. Silver's making a comeback. They said gold is
- 17:24Speaker 2: here to stay, but silver's having a moment. Stationary dinnerware
- 17:27Speaker 2: and accessories.
- 17:28Speaker 1: All right.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Couples who want their guests to feel more at home
- 17:31Speaker 2: are creating wedding spaces that reflect their residences using table lamps,
- 17:37Speaker 2: coffee table books, and menu tassels.
- 17:40Speaker 1: By the way, you can go back and listen to
- 17:41Speaker 1: this on the iHeartRadio app if you didn't catch all
- 17:43Speaker 1: this because.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I'm giving you a lot.
- 17:46Speaker 3: No, but this is great info. If you really want
- 17:47Speaker 3: to Follow this to the T. Right. There's a lot
- 17:50Speaker 3: going on here.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Pop-up experiences as wedding favors. From fragrance stations to bouquet bars,
- 17:57Speaker 2: brides and grooms are turning wedding favors into a full
- 18:00Speaker 2: experience instead of just throwaway merch. Cultural menus honoring their
- 18:05Speaker 2: cultural roots with food. I always thought that would be beautiful.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Another way for couples to make their wedding more personal
- 18:10Speaker 2: and unique. And analog registries. Some couples are going retro
- 18:14Speaker 2: with their registries. opting for items like old-school cocktail glasses,
- 18:19Speaker 2: vintage-style record players, and camcorders, along with stand mixers, are
- 18:24Speaker 2: making a comeback.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Wow.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Okay, so that's for 2027. Yep.
- 18:28Speaker 1: And the biggest headline out of all that is unconventional location,
- 18:33Speaker 1: not necessarily a banquet hall. That's what I really took
- 18:35Speaker 1: from that.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Okay.
- 18:36Speaker 1: So that's why I made a joke. See, I've been
- 18:38Speaker 1: going to a lot of kids' birthday parties. Like, Producer
- 18:40Speaker 1: Kristen had a birthday party. Was it this year or
- 18:42Speaker 1: last year you had the Rockin' Air? That was this year, right? Yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Like kids have birthday parties at like Urban Air, Rockin' Air,
- 18:50Speaker 1: all these jumping places. Why can't you get married.
- 18:52Speaker 5: At one of those places?
- 18:53Speaker 2: Oh, I see. I didn't know what that was.
- 18:54Speaker 3: It's unconventional.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:56Speaker 1: But mainly the kids are, I'm there all the time.
- 18:59Speaker 1: If you're an adult, could you have your wedding at
- 19:01Speaker 1: Urban Air or Jumpin' Jungle or at any of these kids' places?
- 19:06Speaker 2: Sure, if you ask the kids to clear out for
- 19:07Speaker 2: the day.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Could you do a wedding at Chuck E.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Cheese? I think you could.
- 19:11Speaker 3: How great would that be?
- 19:11Speaker 2: You could do a wedding at White Castle.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Well, yeah, on Valentine's Day.
- 19:15Speaker 3: If you had a wedding at Chuck E. Cheese, you
- 19:17Speaker 3: already have a band in place.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Okay.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So these are things I'm thinking of.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I've got a band in mind for you, so yeah.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I do too. All right, we're coming right
- 19:24Speaker 1: back with more music on Light FM.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 19:30Speaker 1: How about hearing that and seeing that performed at the
- 19:35Speaker 1: Super Bowl halftime show?
- 19:37Speaker 3: What do you think? Maybe not? He's alive and well.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:39Speaker 3: He's Michael Cimbello. He is 72 years old.
- 19:42Speaker 1: He did that song in 83. It's Light FM, Cubby, Christine, producer, Kristen.
- 19:46Speaker 1: And I bring up the Super Bowl because you brought
- 19:48Speaker 1: up a great point, Christine. Usually by now we're hearing
- 19:51Speaker 1: who might be doing the Super Bowl halftime show in February,
- 19:54Speaker 1: but we're not hearing much.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I know. Usually by the end of September and clocks ticking,
- 19:58Speaker 2: we're almost there. We just have tomorrow. And so far,
- 20:01Speaker 2: no word. ESPN has said the broadcast rights to Super
- 20:05Speaker 2: Bowl on Valentine's Day. They will have... an announcement, but
- 20:10Speaker 2: we don't know when as to who the performers are
- 20:14Speaker 2: going to be. So people who do these online wagering apps,
- 20:19Speaker 2: here's what people are betting on. Miley Cyrus or Jay-Z. Okay.
- 20:23Speaker 2: There's also money on Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter,
- 20:27Speaker 2: or Taylor Swift.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I feel like Bruno should be in there, like Bruno Mars.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I know he did it like 12 years ago. In fact,
- 20:33Speaker 1: he did the one here at MetLife in 2014.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 1: But he's so hot again.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I know, he's so good.
- 20:38Speaker 1: And he has so many hits. Yep. uh anybody at
- 20:40Speaker 1: the top of your head that you can think of
- 20:42Speaker 1: um like sabrina makes sense going.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Back oh she does mention that right.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Uh madonna she crushed it at the vmas you know
- 20:50Speaker 1: artist of the year she's still on fire how about madonna.
- 20:52Speaker 2: And she did it recently not that recently no like
- 20:56Speaker 2: 10 or 15 years ago i don't know time i'm
- 20:59Speaker 2: losing track of time she's.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Definitely done it how about they do the whole justin
- 21:02Speaker 1: timberlake janet thing again Um, if they.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Would agree to it, I don't know about that.
- 21:08Speaker 3: That was a little issue there, if you remember.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Yeah, wardrobe malfunction. They're saying that there may be a
- 21:13Speaker 2: delay because they're trying to assemble a package of related performers,
- 21:15Speaker 2: such as former boy bands.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Oh, you got Kristen's attention.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Whoa, Kristen's interested.
- 21:21Speaker 3: You got Backstreet Boys, and they leave, then NSYNC comes.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 3: And then New Kids, maybe. Then, yeah, that's an idea, actually.
- 21:28Speaker 2: So that might be why it's taking so long.
- 21:31Speaker 3: O-Town's like, yes, there's a chance.
- 21:32Speaker 2: O-Town, yes, exactly.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Okay.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Okay. Open the phones, please.
- 21:37Speaker 1: 1-800-222-1067. We're looking for two people to play our trivia battle.
- 21:41Speaker 3: And what do we have?
- 21:42Speaker 2: Tickets to see In the Heights at New York City Center.
- 21:45Speaker 2: This Tony-winning musical coming to New York City Center this fall,
- 21:49Speaker 2: which is now. It gets you dancing in your seat
- 21:52Speaker 2: with its game-changing blend of Latin rhythms, hip-hop, and traditional
- 21:55Speaker 2: Broadway sounds. For tickets, visit nycitycenter.org. Or give us a
- 22:01Speaker 2: call and play.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Good luck, Light FM.
- 22:03Speaker 4: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Next on Light FM.
- 22:09Speaker 1: You're pretty good at trivia.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Well, Christine, on this Tuesday morning, we have two contestants
- 22:16Speaker 1: from Brooklyn and two contestants that.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Played last week and lost.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Oh, okay. How about that? All right.
- 22:22Speaker 3: So someone's going to win.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Yes.
- 22:23Speaker 1: On Team Cubby, John from Brooklyn. John, remind us what
- 22:26Speaker 1: you do for a living.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Hey, good morning, Cubby. I'm a VP of Accounting at
- 22:31Speaker 5: Bodido & Associates.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I remember talking to you.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 22:34Speaker 1: And you didn't pull it off last week, so hopefully
- 22:36Speaker 1: you'll pull off a victory today.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Good luck to you.
- 22:38Speaker 5: I couldn't sleep all week after that loss.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Oh, boy.
- 22:42Speaker 3: All right. Let's see if today is redemption day.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Yes. Good morning. Hi, Danielle.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Hi.
- 22:47Speaker 1: How are you?
- 22:48Speaker 2: Good. How are you doing today?
- 22:49Speaker 5: Doing great.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Hoping to win today.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 22:52Speaker 2: What do you do for a living? It helps us remember.
- 22:54Speaker 3: That's okay.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I am a school social worker.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Nice to talk to you again.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Accounting versus school.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 23:01Speaker 1: John, you'll get three questions. Danielle, you'll get three questions.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Best out of three wins our trivia battle. We're up
- 23:06Speaker 1: first here on Team Cubby with John. Hey, John, which
- 23:09Speaker 1: of these sports is Bam Margera known for? A, snowboarding, B, skateboarding,
- 23:16Speaker 1: or C, BMX? B, skateboarding.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Man, you knew that quick.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I thought I was going to stump him.
- 23:24Speaker 2: You are right.
- 23:25Speaker 3: John, you're on the board 1-0.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Okay, Danielle, Hilary Duff just celebrated her 39th birthday. Which
- 23:31Speaker 2: of these sitcom spin-offs did she star in? Was it A,
- 23:35Speaker 2: Girl Meets World, B, Young Sheldon, or C, How I
- 23:38Speaker 2: Met Your Father? I believe it was How I Met
- 23:42Speaker 2: Your Father. And you're correct, yes.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Boy, they both lost last week. Now we're tied up 1-1,
- 23:48Speaker 1: so they've been studying.
- 23:49Speaker 2: On board.
- 23:50Speaker 3: John, question number two for you. Nick's superstar, Jalen Brunson.
- 23:55Speaker 1: He did a great job on SNL over the weekend.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Do you remember where he.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Played college basketball? Was it A, St.
- 24:03Speaker 1: John's, B, Georgetown, or C, Villanova?
- 24:08Speaker 5: Probably that's going to be C, Villanova.
- 24:10Speaker 4: You.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Are correct, and it is 2-1, John.
- 24:13Speaker 2: All right, Danielle, here we go. Which of these teams
- 24:16Speaker 2: is part of the 2026 Major League Baseball postseason wildcard field? A,
- 24:22Speaker 2: the Philadelphia Phillies, B, the L.A. Dodgers, or C, the
- 24:26Speaker 2: Atlanta Braves?
- 24:29Speaker 5: That's a tough one.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Can you repeat the options again? A, the Philadelphia Phillies, B,
- 24:36Speaker 2: the L.A. Dodgers, C, Atlanta Braves.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Would it be B?
- 24:41Speaker 2: The Dodgers? Yes. No, I'm sorry. It's the Phillies. It's
- 24:46Speaker 2: the Phillies.
- 24:47Speaker 1: All right, John, you get this and you win. John,
- 24:50Speaker 1: you missed this. Danielle can tie it up. Here we go, John.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Of the four main stars in Seinfeld, which was the
- 24:57Speaker 1: only one to not win an Emmy? A, Julia Louise Dreyfuss, B,
- 25:03Speaker 1: Michael Richards, or C, Jason Alexander?
- 25:08Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I'm going to have to say B. B, Michael Richards,
- 25:15Speaker 1: who played Kramer.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 25:19Speaker 1: No, the answer is Jason Alexander, who played George.
- 25:21Speaker 5: That was my second. I was debating between them. I
- 25:24Speaker 5: didn't know. Big Seinfeld spin, though.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Danielle can tie it up.
- 25:29Speaker 2: All right, Danielle, for the tie, what was Tim Taylor's
- 25:32Speaker 2: TV show called on Home Improvement? Was it A, Home Time, B,
- 25:36Speaker 2: Tool Time, C, The Tool Man Show?
- 25:42Speaker 5: The Tool Man Show.
- 25:44Speaker 2: That's your answer. C? C. Oh, I'm sorry. It was
- 25:48Speaker 2: tool time. I'm sorry, Danielle.
- 25:51Speaker 3: I tried.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yes, you did. And as you can tell, you can
- 25:54Speaker 2: call us again.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Call tomorrow.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Call next week.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Till you win.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I've won a few times. It's all right.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Thank you all.
- 26:02Speaker 5: You did great, Danielle. Good job, though.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I hope you enjoy the show.
- 26:06Speaker 1: You deserve it.
- 26:07Speaker 2: This is like a party line.
- 26:09Speaker 3: I feel like it's 1990.
- 26:10Speaker 2: It's really nice.
- 26:13Speaker 5: If you want, you can take me, but you don't
- 26:15Speaker 5: have to.
- 26:16Speaker 1: No, I'm kidding.
- 26:16Speaker 5: Whoa!
- 26:19Speaker 3: We're going to talk to you two off the air here.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Danielle, thank you.
- 26:23Speaker 2: All right, Danielle, we'll talk to you soon. John, congratulations.
- 26:27Speaker 2: You've got tickets to see In the Heights at New
- 26:29Speaker 2: York City Center.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Oh, great.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 26:32Speaker 4: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
- 26:35Speaker 4: expect next on Light FM.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I love.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Rockin' steady into the Major League Baseball playoffs. 106.7 Light FM. Cubby, Christine,
- 26:44Speaker 1: Producer Kristen. Yankees play tonight. And yes, indeed, the Major
