- 1:16Speaker 2: defenses no, no, no, this is what we're preparing for it.
- 1:19Speaker 5: If the Patriots score thirty points, how many of the Eagles.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I'm just saying. If the Patriots offense looks good? No, listen,

- 1:32Speaker 8: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for
- 1:37Speaker 8: deals by a Toyota dot com.
- 1:41Speaker 2: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday. It
- 1:47Speaker 2: took me a minute. It is Wednesday here at Jillette Stadium,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and of course we're getting ready for the Philadelphia Eagles
- 1:55Speaker 2: for twenty five tilt here at the stadium, the house
- 1:58Speaker 2: that Tom built, and Tom will be here. It's really exciting.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I can't wait. We're excited, and I just right off
- 2:06Speaker 2: the top. I just want to let people know that.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Of course, we'll have the show within a show today
- 2:12Speaker 2: and usually we're gonna give away T shirts, but for
- 2:15Speaker 2: this show, we are gonna give away these exclusive game
- 2:21Speaker 2: day posters. It's part of the Game Day Poster series
- 2:24Speaker 2: that we're gonna start this year. Every get Home game,
- 2:28Speaker 2: we've contracted with a local artist and they've created a
- 2:31Speaker 2: unique poster for that game. And so for the Eagles game,
- 2:35Speaker 2: this is it. Each poster is is numbered and signed
- 2:40Speaker 2: by the artist. There's only two hundred and seventy five available,
- 2:44Speaker 2: and we're gonna give away three of them today in
- 2:46Speaker 2: the show within a show with the trivia questions. So Matt,
- 2:50Speaker 2: get these out of here before I spill something on them.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Because each like throw. Like I said, each one is
- 2:58Speaker 2: numbered and signed. So if you're room and one.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Would you sign a grease standing? Maybe if you get
- 3:02Speaker 6: a grease stand on there, especially from Fred, you.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Should sign it With the Tide, I'll do one finger painting,
- 3:08Speaker 2: you know from Grease and everything else, and we'll do that.
- 3:11Speaker 2: But so that's that's this week's You can go on
- 3:14Speaker 2: patries dot com and you can see uh all, not
- 3:20Speaker 2: all the posters because we're gonna reveal them one at
- 3:22Speaker 2: a time, but you can see the artists who they are,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and each one is also going to be available for purchase. Uh,
- 3:29Speaker 2: but we're gonna give away three today. Remember there's they're unique,
- 3:32Speaker 2: only two seventy five per game, signed and numbered by
- 3:35Speaker 2: the artists. So that's pretty cool. So hang around for
- 3:39Speaker 2: the show within a show today and you could win
- 3:42Speaker 2: one of these exclusive posters and Matt will try to
- 3:45Speaker 2: get them to you. Yeah, hopefully a little bit better
- 3:49Speaker 2: than the T shirts.
- 3:50Speaker 6: All everybody's gotten their shirts.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah, don't know creases, pea envelope, no creases.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Just you know, we're aiming for one hundred percent.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Right, I think we can we can do.
- 4:00Speaker 5: I think we can strive for.
- 4:01Speaker 2: The all right, So that's that's. Uh, the the poster
- 4:04Speaker 2: series promotion, which I think is really cool. I'm excited
- 4:08Speaker 2: about it. But let's talk football right.
- 4:13Speaker 9: Game week?
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah, how we doing? First of all, breaking news that
- 4:17Speaker 2: we didn't really break it yesterday, but we advanced it
- 4:20Speaker 2: and it came true. Jack Jones is a free man,
- 4:23Speaker 2: just like that.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Yeah boom, who knew random call up to one of
- 4:26Speaker 5: my shows?
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so who knew.
- 4:31Speaker 6: That he packed his own bag?
- 4:32Speaker 5: In all seriousness, I want to do this and with
- 4:36Speaker 5: a straight face, because I often sort of tease all
- 4:39Speaker 5: our colleagues. Kudos to Chris Mason from Mass Live. It's
- 4:45Speaker 5: so rare around here that USU we we local patriots
- 4:51Speaker 5: beat writers, et cetera, get any real news, and he
- 4:57Speaker 5: he had it first, so I think he did a
- 4:59Speaker 5: good job with that. Now, obviously there was a lot
- 5:00Speaker 5: of buzz about it from that call in the morning,
- 5:04Speaker 5: but I want to just want to give a little
- 5:06Speaker 5: hat ye to Chris Mason.
- 5:07Speaker 2: But they're being first, good news for him first that
- 5:10Speaker 2: I saw. Anyway, you know, he's a free man and
- 5:12Speaker 2: free to play football.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Speaking a free man, yeah, Evan here after his move.
- 5:18Speaker 9: I'm not so sure about Freeman anymore.
- 5:20Speaker 2: But no, no, you're you're hitched. Yeah, you did your
- 5:25Speaker 2: move yesterday.
- 5:26Speaker 9: Yeah, so much fun.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And you're you're emailing while you're uh.
- 5:30Speaker 9: Yeah, I was listening. I had the air pods in
- 5:33Speaker 9: while we were moving boxes, and I was like, oh,
- 5:36Speaker 9: the show's on, so I'll just I'll just flip it
- 5:38Speaker 9: on and listen to to the show.
- 5:40Speaker 6: No grances, no grievances.
- 5:42Speaker 9: No, No, I didn't hear. I didn't listen to the
- 5:45Speaker 9: whole show about twenty minutes or so.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Okay, so you missed the part where we're talking about Yeah, yeah, probably.
- 5:50Speaker 9: Did, probably, but I did, Uh, I did hear about
- 5:54Speaker 9: the third quarterback stuff. That's what I was texting Deuce
- 5:57Speaker 9: about so.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Maybe you can explain it. Well, that's why we were all, Oh.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Well, that's what I was really calling you for.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Are we sure that the wording was changed?
- 6:07Speaker 5: Yes?
- 6:07Speaker 2: And was it changed because of us?
- 6:09Speaker 9: I don't. I can't speak to that, Like who knows,
- 6:12Speaker 9: but the wording was definitely changed from when they passed
- 6:16Speaker 9: the rule and whenever that may or whatever, they passed
- 6:19Speaker 9: those rules owners meetings and the rules changed, and so
- 6:24Speaker 9: the original rule was just that they needed to be
- 6:28Speaker 9: on the game day roster right for the quarterback to
- 6:32Speaker 9: serve as an emergency quarterback or QB two. Now, the
- 6:36Speaker 9: new rule basically says that all three have to be
- 6:39Speaker 9: on the fifty three man roster. So the way that
- 6:41Speaker 9: the rule was initially written, the Patriots could have elevated
- 6:44Speaker 9: Bailey Zappi from the practice squad, made him QB two,
- 6:48Speaker 9: and made Matt Corral the emergency quarterback. So therefore you
- 6:52Speaker 9: could dress all three qbs with only two roster spots.
- 6:55Speaker 9: But the way that the rule is written now, all
- 6:58Speaker 9: three quarterbacks need to be on the fifty three man roster.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Now, what I wanted clarification on, and I think I
- 7:04Speaker 5: understand it is that they can still elevate Bailey Zappi
- 7:08Speaker 5: from the practice squad, make him QB two and have
- 7:11Speaker 5: Matt Correll inactive correct, correct, Yeah, and he can be.
- 7:14Speaker 2: The emergency quarterback. He cannot, he cannot, he's on the
- 7:17Speaker 2: fifty three.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Yeah, but so they on the fifty three in order
- 7:21Speaker 5: to be able to use that. Yeah, okay, you have
- 7:24Speaker 5: to have three quarterbacks on the active fifty three for
- 7:27Speaker 5: the for the week. You can't elevate. The part about it.
- 7:30Speaker 9: That not the like, it's not that big of a deal,
- 7:32Speaker 9: but but the part of it that that I just
- 7:35Speaker 9: think is weird to me is that they put this
- 7:39Speaker 9: role in back in place, right because it was it's
- 7:41Speaker 9: a rule before this for years, But they put the
- 7:43Speaker 9: role back in place because of the NFC Championship game,
- 7:46Speaker 9: because the Niners got down to Christian McCaffrey warming up
- 7:50Speaker 9: on the sideline to play quarterback and they wanted to
- 7:53Speaker 9: make sure that never happened again for the integrity of
- 7:56Speaker 9: the game. But the Niners in draft dress three quarterbacks
- 8:00Speaker 9: that day, and most teams don't carry three quarterbacks on
- 8:04Speaker 9: the fifty three man roster. So unless you're telling teams,
- 8:07Speaker 9: well like unless teams are gonna go out of their
- 8:09Speaker 9: way now to carry three quarterbacks, then I just don't
- 8:12Speaker 9: see how this rule is ever going to apply, Like,
- 8:14Speaker 9: who's ever gonna use it?
- 8:15Speaker 5: The second part of that, I agree with the first part,
- 8:18Speaker 5: the fact that the Niners didn't dress three, like, yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 5: well they may they may have if they had this,
- 8:25Speaker 5: but they didn't have three on the roster right most.
- 8:27Speaker 5: But the second part of it is is absolutely right.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Most teams do not carry three quarterbacks on their active roster,
- 8:35Speaker 5: you know, in this day and age. Now maybe that
- 8:36Speaker 5: will change, maybe that's changed right now. I haven't seen
- 8:39Speaker 5: the updated If.
- 8:40Speaker 2: They're really if they're really worried about the quality of
- 8:43Speaker 2: the game, I don't think it has to do with integricy,
- 8:45Speaker 2: but the quality of the game. If you lose to
- 8:48Speaker 2: then why not just make an exception for a quarterback
- 8:51Speaker 2: where you get a roster not a roster exception, but
- 8:55Speaker 2: the guy who was on your practice squad is your
- 8:57Speaker 2: third quarterback can be available for the game in an emergency,
- 9:01Speaker 2: and but he doesn't have to take up a fifty three.
- 9:04Speaker 2: One of the fifty three.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Well, I kind of agree with you on that. Like
- 9:07Speaker 5: this stipulation that like they couldn't elevate Bailey Zappi and
- 9:12Speaker 5: just name him the third quarter or whatever, Like I
- 9:14Speaker 5: don't really understand why, Like it doesn't matter to me,
- 9:18Speaker 5: but yeah, it's kind of a well, if you're going
- 9:20Speaker 5: to have the rule, why not make it easier for
- 9:22Speaker 5: people to use it.
- 9:23Speaker 9: Well, that's sort of my point, and that's that's the
- 9:25Speaker 9: way the rule was originally written was that you would
- 9:28Speaker 9: essentially get an extra game day roster spot on a
- 9:31Speaker 9: quarterback from the practice squad. But now that they close
- 9:35Speaker 9: that loophole, I just don't I'm interested to see Week one, Like,
- 9:38Speaker 9: I don't see how many teams are really going to
- 9:40Speaker 9: be using this rule. It's almost useful.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I wonder if there's something that they foresee teams exploiting
- 9:47Speaker 2: and that's why they did.
- 9:48Speaker 5: I think they don't like hiding a roster.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Or like a guy like Malik cunning him. I don't know,
- 9:54Speaker 2: it's not that, No, No, it's hid.
- 9:57Speaker 9: I think that they And if it was a con
- 10:00Speaker 9: spiracy against the Patriots, because everything is right, it is true.
- 10:04Speaker 5: If it wasn't, even though it's because of San Francisco,
- 10:06Speaker 5: but yeah, we'll just go with it.
- 10:07Speaker 9: If it was a conspiracy against the Patriots. The Patriots
- 10:11Speaker 9: may have exploited the loophole that they could elevate Bailey
- 10:16Speaker 9: Zappi from the pack to squad, make him the backup,
- 10:18Speaker 9: and make coraality emergency quarterback, and they close that loophole.
- 10:22Speaker 9: So now you can no longer do that. So that
- 10:25Speaker 9: that's the catch here in the way the rule was
- 10:28Speaker 9: originally written was different throughm what the rule is now.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I just don't see the different Like I understand,
- 10:35Speaker 5: like specifically he's inactive as opposed to the emergency quarterback.
- 10:40Speaker 5: I understand the differences. I just don't like that to
- 10:43Speaker 5: me is not really that's six to one half dozen
- 10:47Speaker 5: the other. To me, it's the same thing. Now the
- 10:50Speaker 5: other part, I just my guess is the league doesn't
- 10:55Speaker 5: want teams using Okay, we're gonna let you have this
- 10:58Speaker 5: emergency quarterback on the game active roster. We're going to
- 11:01Speaker 5: give you an extra guy, but you can't also hide
- 11:05Speaker 5: a roster spot doing it, Like you need to have
- 11:07Speaker 5: that extra guy be one of your fifty three regular
- 11:10Speaker 5: roster spots. So now we're letting you steal a roster
- 11:13Speaker 5: spot and a game day spot. That's probably why they're
- 11:16Speaker 5: they're stepping in. But the the Malik Cunningham thing, to me,
- 11:22Speaker 5: you still can't have that, Like, I think it's a
- 11:24Speaker 5: it's an enormous risk to go into a game. Let's
- 11:28Speaker 5: just say Sunday and say Malie Cunningham is going to
- 11:31Speaker 5: be active in this game, and we're gonna use Matt
- 11:33Speaker 5: Corral as the emergency quarterback. Right, Let's say maliek Cunningham
- 11:37Speaker 5: was on the active roster. You could do it. I
- 11:40Speaker 5: don't think Bill would do that because now something happens
- 11:43Speaker 5: to Mac Jones, he has to play Malie Cunningham, right,
- 11:45Speaker 5: And I don't think he wants to do that. Cheraly
- 11:47Speaker 5: not based on his answer this morning.
- 11:49Speaker 6: That was a good one.
- 11:50Speaker 9: That was like the real conspiracy theory loophole that people
- 11:55Speaker 9: were talking about was that, oh, like they'll make Millie
- 11:57Speaker 9: Cunningham the backup and then he plays in the wild
- 12:00Speaker 9: cat package and oh, I stubbed a toe, so now
- 12:02Speaker 9: Makkal can come into the game. Something like that would happen,
- 12:05Speaker 9: as and I always said.
- 12:06Speaker 5: He'd have to fake an injury, yes, And.
- 12:08Speaker 10: I always said from the beginning, if wet right, but
- 12:12Speaker 10: that gets hurt and then you have Mali Kenningham faken interest.
- 12:15Speaker 10: And I said from the beginning that if that, if
- 12:17Speaker 10: they even broached that the the level of h you know,
- 12:22Speaker 10: we saw what happened with the flake Gate, this would
- 12:24Speaker 10: be the exact go to the Supreme Court.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Now, maybe that the Patriots should be the flake Gate
- 12:27Speaker 5: I think was absurd. I would be on board whatever
- 12:30Speaker 5: the league did if someone got caught faken an injury
- 12:33Speaker 5: in a situation.
- 12:34Speaker 6: Like that, Yeah, like preemptive, like they premeditated.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Yeah, like that's your that's your call. I got a
- 12:41Speaker 5: signal your plan going in is to use this guy
- 12:43Speaker 5: as a wide receiver, slash guy, wildcat quarterback. And then
- 12:47Speaker 5: oh man, the order sixty six gets order sixty six.
- 12:51Speaker 5: The starter just got hurt and it's the middle of
- 12:52Speaker 5: the second quarter. Oh man, hey, listen, Rudy Stein, take
- 12:57Speaker 5: one in the back, make it a little good, make
- 12:58Speaker 5: it late only go oh I don't say down hurt
- 13:05Speaker 5: Rudy Stein.
- 13:06Speaker 9: You're with me right, Just to be they did close
- 13:12Speaker 9: any Molie Cunningham loopholes as well. So so now the rule,
- 13:17Speaker 9: there was a clarification to the rule as well as
- 13:20Speaker 9: the written rule that said, essentially, like a Taysom Hill,
- 13:24Speaker 9: Mollie Cunningham type of player. It does not count as
- 13:28Speaker 9: a quarterback in the eyes of the league, like that
- 13:30Speaker 9: would not.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Can't be the emergency quarterback.
- 13:33Speaker 6: It has to be a real quarterback, and it can't
- 13:35Speaker 6: be QB two. It doesn't run too Yeah, yeah, it's
- 13:39Speaker 6: kind of funny.
- 13:40Speaker 9: It has to be a real quarterback. Can't be any
- 13:43Speaker 9: of this this gimmicky stuff.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Be kind of like, I mean, I know they want
- 13:48Speaker 6: him in the mix, so it's not.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Really that one.
- 13:49Speaker 5: I think you could you could fight, Like I think
- 13:51Speaker 5: Taysom Hill could be the Saints backup court. Is he
- 13:53Speaker 5: still in the Saints Saints backup quarterback coming? I think
- 13:56Speaker 5: he's played enough quarterback.
- 13:58Speaker 2: All right, So we got to practice today. Yeah, you
- 14:01Speaker 2: just came from some press conferences, Henry and Mandra anything
- 14:05Speaker 2: to report.
- 14:06Speaker 6: I think the Bill one is worth talking about.
- 14:08Speaker 9: The Bill one was decent, I thought, I mean, after
- 14:11Speaker 9: he gushed for ten minutes about the Eagles, which I
- 14:14Speaker 9: honestly everything he said was pretty valid. Like I don't
- 14:17Speaker 9: think that there was.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Any in this case. You're talking about a team that just.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Four pre Cleveland Browns. Yeah, it was like a school
- 14:25Speaker 5: from anywhere on the field except actually on the field.
- 14:28Speaker 9: I thought was, you know, I never really thought about
- 14:30Speaker 9: the Eagles longevity until he brought it up. But going
- 14:34Speaker 9: from Reid, I know they had the Chip Kelly years,
- 14:37Speaker 9: but going from Reed to Peterson, to Sirianni and McNabb
- 14:40Speaker 9: to the Wentz Foles era and then now to Jalen
- 14:44Speaker 9: Hurt's like they've really been good for like twenty five years.
- 14:47Speaker 9: This is not really just a unique to I think
- 14:49Speaker 9: one of.
- 14:50Speaker 2: The underrated owners, uh in the league is is Jeffrey Lourie. Yeah,
- 14:55Speaker 2: and he's done a really good job well with yeah
- 14:58Speaker 2: as his GM. Yeah, he's done. They've done a really
- 15:00Speaker 2: good job with that team, keeping it relevant and competitive
- 15:04Speaker 2: for a long stretch.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Now did that strike he as weird that he brought
- 15:07Speaker 6: up Howie Roseman. I just I don't remember him bringing
- 15:09Speaker 6: up like a personnel guy who has built a team
- 15:11Speaker 6: and kind of crediting him in one of these places.
- 15:13Speaker 2: It did.
- 15:14Speaker 9: But what I think is interesting is how much respect
- 15:16Speaker 9: he has for Howie Roseman, but how he Roseman does
- 15:18Speaker 9: it completely differently than how the Patriots do it. So
- 15:22Speaker 9: I feel like that's that was interesting, you know, to
- 15:25Speaker 9: just hear him praising somebody, it's like almost like Tom
- 15:28Speaker 9: Brady praising a mobile quarterback, right like, It's like, you know,
- 15:31Speaker 9: we do it very differently, but we both get results
- 15:34Speaker 9: sort of thing. I don't know. I mean, Howie Roseman
- 15:37Speaker 9: is a totally different type of GM than Bill Belichick is.
- 15:40Speaker 5: I wonder if he has a relationship with Roseman, because
- 15:43Speaker 5: you're right, you know, I'm thinking some of the guys
- 15:45Speaker 5: over the years that he hasn't talked like that about
- 15:48Speaker 5: now you do hear it, not as much anymore, but
- 15:51Speaker 5: with Baltimore, with Ozzie.
- 15:53Speaker 6: Right right now.
- 15:54Speaker 5: You know, we love Zuzzie. You know, it's a great
- 15:56Speaker 5: connection with him from way back in Cleveland and everything else.
- 15:59Speaker 5: So I just want, you know, like you would never
- 16:02Speaker 5: really hear him talk about Bill Pollion as an example,
- 16:05Speaker 5: because I don't think that they get along very well.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Those two.
- 16:07Speaker 6: That just what struck me. It was, you know, Evan's point,
- 16:10Speaker 6: they go about it so different, and you know, Bill
- 16:11Speaker 6: went out of his way to kind of highlight how
- 16:13Speaker 6: they do it, which you know, Fred.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Do you know, does Mike and Evan know how you
- 16:18Speaker 5: refer to Bill pollyon.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Bill polyon Lion because he's always lyon.
- 16:24Speaker 5: It's not a great friendism.
- 16:25Speaker 6: Were you there when the Patriots time is over?
- 16:27Speaker 5: I was, yeah, Yeah, we were there for that.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Running down the hallways. It was time. It's the cult.
- 16:35Speaker 11: It wasn't.
- 16:38Speaker 2: After they There was also to win.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Yeah, they gave us the flu g everybody the flip.
- 16:45Speaker 2: They gave us got the flu they they gave us
- 16:49Speaker 2: the sound, the heat.
- 16:50Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 16:51Speaker 5: There was also the time I think it was the
- 16:53Speaker 5: same regular season, may have been the year before Indye
- 16:56Speaker 5: beat the Patriots arry Foxborough regular season. Both those years
- 16:59Speaker 5: back to back years five and oh six. What was
- 17:01Speaker 5: the year that Flutie was on the team, probably five whatever,
- 17:05Speaker 5: whatever year that was. Floodie was mopping up at the
- 17:07Speaker 5: end of the game, banging. He was up in the
- 17:11Speaker 5: press box.
- 17:11Speaker 2: He's running around and they couldn't Yeah, and he literally
- 17:15Speaker 2: in the press box said break his leg, like.
- 17:18Speaker 5: They gonna make this stuff out.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah he was.
- 17:21Speaker 6: Yeah, he was a little specifically to the Patriots, or
- 17:24Speaker 6: generally specifically to the Patriots at.
- 17:26Speaker 5: That point, we used to call us the Patriots.
- 17:29Speaker 2: To the Patriots, he couldn't pronounce our name, so I said, okay,
- 17:32Speaker 2: if you can pronounce our name, I'm not going to
- 17:34Speaker 2: be able to pronounce your name. You're plying from now on.
- 17:37Speaker 6: So there take that, Yeah.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Loser, Sure he cares.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Now, those are truly great moments for PFW history.
- 17:45Speaker 6: Well, it's it's funny because we I mean, we get
- 17:47Speaker 6: some little tidbits in the press box of either you know,
- 17:49Speaker 6: John Robinson sitting in front of us during the playoff.
- 17:52Speaker 12: Right, and.
- 17:54Speaker 6: Who do you work for?
- 17:56Speaker 2: You? Are you supposed to be.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Here watching Crow and Ellie at Wolf coming?
- 18:00Speaker 5: You know that one John Robinson?
- 18:03Speaker 2: Where I think was I forget? I think we might
- 18:05Speaker 2: have been in Buffalo.
- 18:06Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 2: And I get to the press box and you know
- 18:09Speaker 2: how it is, everyone always sits generally the same place,
- 18:13Speaker 2: and all of a sudden there's this guy in the
- 18:15Speaker 2: chair next to me. I'd never seen him before, and
- 18:17Speaker 2: so I'm like, Hi, are you supposed to be sitting here?
- 18:20Speaker 2: And he goes, yeah, I'm John Robinson? You know Yeah?
- 18:23Speaker 2: Did you go? Oh? Yeah? Okay?
- 18:26Speaker 5: Eric?
- 18:28Speaker 2: And who is that? What do you do?
- 18:31Speaker 6: You don't know who I am?
- 18:33Speaker 2: But Eric?
- 18:36Speaker 5: Anyway, that was like do you remember that on on
- 18:41Speaker 5: my station way back when John Henry just showed up
- 18:43Speaker 5: at ninety eight five and went on with felgrin Mass.
- 18:46Speaker 5: He just he walked in. So when he got they
- 18:48Speaker 5: used to have a receptionist who was just like there
- 18:50Speaker 5: was a whole building they had a lot of different
- 18:52Speaker 5: radio stations and whatever. He knew nothing about sports. And
- 18:55Speaker 5: John Henry came in and just walked in. He goes,
- 18:58Speaker 5: got to help you. I'm John Henry and he goes and.
- 19:04Speaker 2: It pertaining right right right, Jehan Henry, John Henry.
- 19:11Speaker 6: What's your last name? Jack Well, a man, It's just
- 19:16Speaker 6: John Henry.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Oh god, eight five five pass five hundred. Is the
- 19:19Speaker 2: a stick a hotline web radio at Patris dot com.
- 19:22Speaker 2: So how we feel? So Bill was interesting this morning.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I think it was in a pretty good mood. He
- 19:28Speaker 2: even said, you know, he thinks that, you know, they've
- 19:31Speaker 2: made good progress. There's a lot to do yet, of course, uh,
- 19:35Speaker 2: you know, with it being Wednesday, this is when you
- 19:37Speaker 2: know the players get their game plan for their upcoming
- 19:40Speaker 2: opponent and you know they start to implement it out
- 19:43Speaker 2: on the field on the practice field. But he seemed
- 19:46Speaker 2: in a pretty good mood, you know.
- 19:48Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it was I think, you know, I've
- 19:50Speaker 6: referred earlier to talking Doug Kat. I think asked him about,
- 19:53Speaker 6: you know, using Malie Cunningham for read option preparation against
- 19:56Speaker 6: Jalen Hurts, and you know, it's just it was funny
- 19:58Speaker 6: because I think we've all been saying that, and I
- 20:00Speaker 6: think it makes sense to a certain degree. But Bill
- 20:03Speaker 6: was kind of like, you know, it's tough comparing a
- 20:05Speaker 6: practice squad player to the guy who finished like second
- 20:07Speaker 6: in MVUT. You know, he kind of put it down
- 20:08Speaker 6: a little bit. That's the beauty.
- 20:10Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, it really is, in a nutshell, the beauty
- 20:12Speaker 5: of Bill, because we all know that's not the question.
- 20:16Speaker 5: The question is does it help having a mobile quarterback
- 20:18Speaker 5: sort of emulate some of the things that Jalen Hurts. Yes,
- 20:20Speaker 5: nobody would suggest Malie Cunningham. Same same with Jalen Hurts.
- 20:27Speaker 5: And he takes that as an opportunity and he knows that,
- 20:30Speaker 5: but he takes it as an opportunity. I can spend
- 20:32Speaker 5: now the next five minutes with a filibuster glowing on
- 20:35Speaker 5: just how great Jalen Hurts us.
- 20:36Speaker 6: Yeah, And I found myself though, questioning a little bit
- 20:38Speaker 6: of just you know, like, what is the real benefit
- 20:41Speaker 6: to actually having Malik Cunningham a player who did it?
- 20:44Speaker 6: You know, is he is it just a smoother operation
- 20:47Speaker 6: when he's trying to do read options pull it back,
- 20:49Speaker 6: you know that kind of stuff, Like is he just
- 20:51Speaker 6: you know what I mean, like, what is the advantage
- 20:52Speaker 6: because like you.
- 20:53Speaker 5: Could rather have Malik Cunningham do it, or Lynn Bowden
- 20:57Speaker 5: yeah right, or Mountain Perry.
- 20:59Speaker 6: Does it make it? Does it really make a difference?
- 21:00Speaker 5: I think yeah. I mean I can't tell you for sure.
- 21:03Speaker 5: I'm no football expert. I'm not out in the practice field,
- 21:06Speaker 5: but I would think this guy who spent five years
- 21:08Speaker 5: doing it in the ACC is better than a guy
- 21:12Speaker 5: who kind of played wide receiver, you know, was an
- 21:15Speaker 5: athlete at Navy.
- 21:17Speaker 9: Yeah. I also think that if they get into the
- 21:19Speaker 9: scout team periods and they're not actually tipping their hand
- 21:22Speaker 9: on what the plays are, that there is an advantage
- 21:24Speaker 9: of like he could actually throw it, like it's not
- 21:29Speaker 9: like he could really throw it and uh and that
- 21:32Speaker 9: you know, could be a problem. But I my whole
- 21:35Speaker 9: thing with with the whole Jalen Hurts thing, and this
- 21:37Speaker 9: is my this is my my my big opinion of
- 21:39Speaker 9: the week.
- 21:40Speaker 6: This is I'm really not in development.
- 21:43Speaker 9: This is not let's hear it, It's time for Bill
- 21:48Speaker 9: Belichick to show us something against mobile quarterbacks, like I'm
- 21:52Speaker 9: kind of he drafted three guys in the top of
- 21:56Speaker 9: the draft that all should help in this scenario. Christian
- 21:58Speaker 9: Goanzales should be able to take a guy one on
- 22:01Speaker 9: one on the outside. Kean White we saw in the
- 22:03Speaker 9: preseason him chasing down C. J. Stroud and his athleticism.
- 22:07Speaker 9: We know how athletic Marty maphu is. You have the horses.
- 22:10Speaker 9: Now you have all these versatile safeties and these guys
- 22:13Speaker 9: like Jabriel Peppers and Adrian Phillips and Duggar who can
- 22:15Speaker 9: hit and tackle and run and do all those different things.
- 22:19Speaker 9: I need to see something like, show me what you got.
- 22:21Speaker 9: You had all off season to prepare for this matchup.
- 22:23Speaker 9: You've known you've been playing the Eagles for how many months? Now,
- 22:27Speaker 9: show me something.
- 22:29Speaker 6: It's right along the same point I kind of brought
- 22:31Speaker 6: up yesterday of you know, this is the greatest coach
- 22:34Speaker 6: of all time. These kind of offenses have given real problems. Yeah,
- 22:37Speaker 6: and like you said, you've had all offseason to prepare
- 22:39Speaker 6: for it. I mean, I still think and I think
- 22:41Speaker 6: we're all kind of landing on a similar place of that.
- 22:44Speaker 6: Even if they play excellent. It's it's gonna be a
- 22:47Speaker 6: it's gonna be a tough game, Like they're gonna make
- 22:48Speaker 6: plays that nothing's gonna be easy. You're never gonna shut
- 22:51Speaker 6: them down for four quarters. They're gonna make some plays.
- 22:53Speaker 6: And you know, I think that's if the Patriots are
- 22:56Speaker 6: gonna win this game. I think they have to be
- 22:57Speaker 6: mentally prepared for the ups and downs and you know,
- 23:00Speaker 6: if they can fight through falling behind early. You know,
- 23:03Speaker 6: like I don't think any of us think that that's ideal.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Not to spoil Paul's key to the game, but I
- 23:07Speaker 6: think he was, you know, dead on. It's it's every down,
- 23:10Speaker 6: and it's it starts with those first down performances and
- 23:13Speaker 6: and getting them as evans as you know, can continue
- 23:16Speaker 6: to hammer getting them off schedule.
- 23:17Speaker 5: Which sounds like I think first down is huge.
- 23:20Speaker 6: And it's a great one bothation.
- 23:23Speaker 9: I just think you need to schematically personnel wise, you know,
- 23:28Speaker 9: whether it's different packages, whether it's something creative that they
- 23:32Speaker 9: haven't done before. They have to show me that they're
- 23:36Speaker 9: they're doing something different, like and they're really trying to
- 23:39Speaker 9: make an effort out of being able to stop these
- 23:41Speaker 9: guys because at this point, you face them almost every
- 23:44Speaker 9: week like you're you're going to go through this schedule
- 23:46Speaker 9: and there's a lot of mobile quarterbacks, there's a lot
- 23:49Speaker 9: of offenses that are running RPO now and all these
- 23:52Speaker 9: different college style schemes that have trickled up, and you
- 23:55Speaker 9: have to prove that you can stop it. Because if
- 23:58Speaker 9: Jalen Hurts beats them gone five bombs away down the
- 24:01Speaker 9: sideline to aj Brown, then so be it. Like tip
- 24:04Speaker 9: your cap and say good job on you. But if
- 24:06Speaker 9: he beats them because they can't stop RPO on first down,
- 24:09Speaker 9: it's gonna be frustrating.
- 24:10Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I guess the only thing I
- 24:12Speaker 6: can I can think of that's coming together in my
- 24:14Speaker 6: head of just not giving up those deep shots. I mean,
- 24:17Speaker 6: I think that that's a that's a non starter. If
- 24:19Speaker 6: you're going to give up deep shots to those two guys,
- 24:21Speaker 6: I mean, it's it's gonna be game over. But you know,
- 24:23Speaker 6: is there a place where and not to say that
- 24:25Speaker 6: I think that Jalen Hurts stinks when he's in the pocket,
- 24:28Speaker 6: But is there a way to get him off of Goddard,
- 24:31Speaker 6: to get him off a Brown and Smith and to
- 24:32Speaker 6: make him go to the other, you know, the slot
- 24:35Speaker 6: receivers that nobody's talking about, Zach p Yeah, like like Watkins, Yeah, like,
- 24:39Speaker 6: get him to go to those guys, make them process,
- 24:43Speaker 6: you know, make them try to decipher the Patriots defense.
- 24:45Speaker 6: I think we all you know, know they're going to
- 24:47Speaker 6: spin the dial and have different stuff from down to down.
- 24:49Speaker 6: So you know, can you hate the mush rush though,
- 24:52Speaker 6: because he's going to kill you if you just sit back,
- 24:55Speaker 6: especially in the RPO stuff where they have no no,
- 24:57Speaker 6: you know, no question of being able to do whatever
- 25:00Speaker 6: they want those first three seconds of the snap because
- 25:02Speaker 6: you're not going to get any penetrating.
- 25:03Speaker 5: I also think it was I also think it's it's
- 25:06Speaker 5: three taking three guys out as hard. Like I think
- 25:10Speaker 5: if you had like a J. Brown tight end, you
- 25:13Speaker 5: could you could say, all right, we're gonna make sure
- 25:14Speaker 5: you don't use a J. Brown. But they have three
- 25:17Speaker 5: different guys. I think that they'd be more than happy
- 25:19Speaker 5: if they led led the team and reception their own
- 25:22Speaker 5: yards on on Sunday. You know, I don't think they'd
- 25:24Speaker 5: have any problems if you held Smith and Brown relatively
- 25:29Speaker 5: in check and Goddard had you know, so seven two touchdowns.
- 25:33Speaker 2: So every Every quarterback has their kryptonite, you know, even
- 25:37Speaker 2: Brady like you know, if you can rush him up
- 25:40Speaker 2: the middle, don't allow him to step up. You know,
- 25:42Speaker 2: even he had.
- 25:43Speaker 6: To get them off kilter early.
- 25:45Speaker 2: So what would we say, is Jalen Hurts kryptonite? What
- 25:49Speaker 2: is his weakness?
- 25:50Speaker 6: I mean, I mean, I I don't really I couldn't
- 25:52Speaker 6: tell you exactly, but I think it's along the lines
- 25:54Speaker 6: of what I said earlier, you know, just making him
- 25:56Speaker 6: not go to his favorite guys. But even then, but
- 26:00Speaker 6: for him to tuck it and.
- 26:02Speaker 5: The ball outside. I've seen a lot of stuff about
- 26:04Speaker 5: both Mac and Hurts. You know, they're much better when
- 26:06Speaker 5: they're throwing between the numbers. You'll make them do something different,
- 26:09Speaker 5: see if you can confuse them.
- 26:11Speaker 9: Yeah, I think you know, on one hand, every quarterback
- 26:14Speaker 9: is worse under pressure, but his numbers under pressure are
- 26:17Speaker 9: take a hit across the board. But I would also
- 26:20Speaker 9: say I'm still not entirely convinced that he's like a
- 26:23Speaker 9: traditional drop back passer. So if you can turn this
- 26:26Speaker 9: game into third and eight, I think that you're gonna
- 26:30Speaker 9: win some rounds doing easier said than done.
- 26:32Speaker 5: But and that's the whole thing that's how.
- 26:35Speaker 2: That offense is designed not to have those.
- 26:37Speaker 9: Right, And that's that's the whole game to me, is
- 26:39Speaker 9: can you get them into longer down and distances where
- 26:43Speaker 9: all their bells and whistles, the option plays, that play action,
- 26:46Speaker 9: they'd use a ton of motion like they're a college offense.
- 26:49Speaker 9: They don't run a whole lot of like traditional drop
- 26:53Speaker 9: back you know, what you'd call pro style scheme type
- 26:56Speaker 9: of stuff. If you can get them out of that
- 26:58Speaker 9: and just force Hurts to beat you in the pocket
- 27:02Speaker 9: as a drop back passer making full field progressions on
- 27:04Speaker 9: third and nine, I think you have a chance.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Yeah, But then that's what worries me is what kind
- 27:09Speaker 6: of rushes there? Are you able to get him? Are
- 27:11Speaker 6: you able to finish him off? I mean nothing drives
- 27:13Speaker 6: me more nuts in football. Third and eight everybody's covered
- 27:17Speaker 6: and then he just tucks it and burk, you know,
- 27:18Speaker 6: and he's got it, and that's him, Like that's he
- 27:20Speaker 6: can easily do that one. Do you can a Marty
- 27:22Speaker 6: Map who run with him? You know, can a Marty
- 27:24Speaker 6: Map who keep the angle on him and have leverage
- 27:26Speaker 6: and be able to cut him off before he gets
- 27:27Speaker 6: the first down?
- 27:28Speaker 13: Like?
- 27:28Speaker 6: Is that something they're thinking of or you know, we're
- 27:30Speaker 6: still still kind of looking at mac Wilson in that role,
- 27:33Speaker 6: Like you know, those are the those are the questions
- 27:35Speaker 6: I have, Third and third. If they can get him
- 27:37Speaker 6: into third and long, how do they how do they
- 27:38Speaker 6: get off the field.
- 27:40Speaker 9: He's not a much of a of a scrambler. He
- 27:44Speaker 9: he does the playground stuff. He'll do that like improvising
- 27:48Speaker 9: in the second reaction, but it's not so much scrambles
- 27:52Speaker 9: with him as it is more designed quarterback run. But
- 27:55Speaker 9: I think Mapu's the guy to me that if you
- 28:00Speaker 9: can use him as a spy, because what I hate
- 28:02Speaker 9: the most about when they play mobile quarterbacks is the
- 28:04Speaker 9: mush rush. Like I understand the philosophy of it, but
- 28:06Speaker 9: I think at the end of the day, you're just
- 28:08Speaker 9: allowing the guy to sit back there and throw the
- 28:10Speaker 9: ball like it's seven on seven, And I just don't
- 28:13Speaker 9: see how that's really helpful for anybody, especially nowadays when
- 28:17Speaker 9: they all they do is play seven on seven. So
- 28:19Speaker 9: it's like, you know, justin fields, like you want me
- 28:21Speaker 9: to play like this, fine, Like I can play like
- 28:23Speaker 9: this almost Like.
- 28:24Speaker 2: You have to, like, you know, be heavy on one
- 28:28Speaker 2: side to force him to go to a certain way
- 28:30Speaker 2: and then have a trap form.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Yeah you know what I mean side of you know.
- 28:34Speaker 9: Like they've done that before, and I wish they did
- 28:35Speaker 9: it more. So, Like obviously you want to force him
- 28:38Speaker 9: against his arm side. So he's a righty. So if
- 28:40Speaker 9: you can force him left and then you make him
- 28:42Speaker 9: throw across his body to try to get the ball
- 28:44Speaker 9: down the field, that's like the most effective way. But
- 28:47Speaker 9: I just think they have to tee off on him
- 28:48Speaker 9: and use Marty Mapu or somebody if they don't trust
- 28:52Speaker 9: Mapho yet, somebody more experienced.
- 28:54Speaker 2: A big game for ushe or does it have to
- 28:57Speaker 2: be a big game for ushe if you're going to win.
- 29:00Speaker 6: I I mean I don't know. I just I look
- 29:02Speaker 6: more at I said yesterday, bar more at Quale. Maybe
- 29:05Speaker 6: key On White, like the interior guys, you know, maybe
- 29:07Speaker 6: test their their new guard that they have.
- 29:09Speaker 2: You know, ke On White even in Cole he wasn't
- 29:11Speaker 2: a big sack guy, you know.
- 29:13Speaker 6: No, no, I know. And but I think you know
- 29:15Speaker 6: on an interior pass rush, you know, third down those.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Kinds of things, can he can push the pocket.
- 29:19Speaker 6: I just don't have a lot of a lot of
- 29:21Speaker 6: faith in josh Ucha against two monstrous tackles, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 6: I mean maybe he can get around them with speed.
- 29:26Speaker 6: I don't bet he's not going to get through them.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean if you're forcing them well, like like Evan,
- 29:31Speaker 5: like they used to do that with Josh Allen. They've
- 29:32Speaker 5: still done it. They've tried to force Josh Allen to
- 29:34Speaker 5: roll left. He's not as effective. I mean, very few
- 29:37Speaker 5: guys are other than Mahomes can do anything. But you know,
- 29:41Speaker 5: if does that mean you're you're you're trying to force
- 29:44Speaker 5: the front side to go into where Judaan usually is.
- 29:48Speaker 5: I'm like, to me, the key is, like I have
- 29:52Speaker 5: reasonable amount of faith that there'll be players in position
- 29:54Speaker 5: to make plays. Can you make enough plays? Like last year,
- 29:58Speaker 5: you know, you have Josh Allen dead to rights on
- 30:00Speaker 5: the sideline and you can't make a play yep, you
- 30:03Speaker 5: can't get him out of bounds or on the ground,
- 30:05Speaker 5: and you can't cover a guy in the end zone.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Like I don't think there was anything wrong with whatever
- 30:11Speaker 5: Steve Belichick and Drod Meyo dialed up on that particular play,
- 30:14Speaker 5: but it ends up being a touchdown.
- 30:16Speaker 6: That's the theme.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Can they do that? Can they finish enough times to
- 30:21Speaker 5: keep them off off schedule.
- 30:22Speaker 6: I think to your point, it's just like a gauntlet
- 30:24Speaker 6: to even just get the third down, you know, like
- 30:26Speaker 6: like even to get them in that third and long
- 30:29Speaker 6: is enough of a challenge. And then it's even more.
- 30:32Speaker 2: You got to have those disruptive plays. You got to
- 30:34Speaker 2: tackles for loss and things like that, you know.
- 30:37Speaker 6: With Evan, like, go get them. I don't want to
- 30:40Speaker 6: see godshalk guy wise. You know, three four, mush rush,
- 30:44Speaker 6: two gap, no pressure. He sits back there.
- 30:47Speaker 2: He does what he wants, So you get you're saying
- 30:48Speaker 2: the patrio's gonna have to take some chance.
- 30:50Speaker 6: I think so. I just I think it's in you know, again,
- 30:53Speaker 6: I hate spoiling keys, but I'm like, just let it rip, Like,
- 30:55Speaker 6: go out there and play like you have nothing to
- 30:58Speaker 6: lose against this team.
- 30:59Speaker 5: Because very differ and audience is today Sunday.
- 31:02Speaker 6: Yeah right, I feel like this.
- 31:04Speaker 9: Is just such a it's a heavyweight fight and you're
- 31:07Speaker 9: the underdog. So the only way that you're gonna get
- 31:09Speaker 9: them off the field on defense is it is to
- 31:11Speaker 9: throw some haymakers, right, and maybe it might burn you,
- 31:15Speaker 9: like you might you might like run like a blitz
- 31:18Speaker 9: er a scrape exchange up front, and Jalen Hurts might
- 31:20Speaker 9: get the edge one time and go for a twenty
- 31:22Speaker 9: five yard game. But if you can get them down
- 31:25Speaker 9: on the ground three times and only one time, give
- 31:27Speaker 9: up the twenty five yard game. And that's how you're
- 31:29Speaker 9: gonna have to play this game. If you just sit
- 31:31Speaker 9: back and try to read and react to all their
- 31:34Speaker 9: different things, that's what they want you to do, because
- 31:35Speaker 9: they mess with your eyes, and they have motion over here,
- 31:38Speaker 9: and they have the option going on over there, and
- 31:41Speaker 9: that's how you get to chasing the chicken, and you
- 31:43Speaker 9: don't want that.
- 31:44Speaker 6: I like chasing the chicken. It's kind of like another
- 31:47Speaker 6: Rockie too. We're keeping a theme here. Yeah, watch the
- 31:50Speaker 6: other day. Oh sorry for your loss. I was just
- 31:53Speaker 6: gonna say, though, Paul, you know, going back to Goddard,
- 31:55Speaker 6: like I just like they can't lose to Goddard. Like
- 31:57Speaker 6: you've got seventy five tight ends on the ross, safeties
- 32:00Speaker 6: on the roster. You know that you can spin the dial,
- 32:02Speaker 6: that you should have somebody that can come in this
- 32:05Speaker 6: first year. I don't know, I don't know's I know,
- 32:08Speaker 6: I know, And that's exactly the point I was getting
- 32:10Speaker 6: that was like, you know, hey, we want to give
- 32:12Speaker 6: Kyle Duggar that next big contract extension. Here's the challenge
- 32:15Speaker 6: right out of the gate for somebody like I mean,
- 32:16Speaker 6: he's probably my my initial choice just because of his size,
- 32:21Speaker 6: PU it's hard to mill on him.
- 32:22Speaker 5: I would put Mills because I think he's a better
- 32:24Speaker 5: cover guy too, but I don't like the match I
- 32:27Speaker 5: don't like the matchup of their safeties on tight ends.
- 32:29Speaker 9: On good tight ends, I would put Kyle Duggart in
- 32:32Speaker 9: the middle of the field, allowing him to rove, let
- 32:35Speaker 9: him roam and follow the football, get into the passing lanes,
- 32:39Speaker 9: things like that. Play whoever you want up top because
- 32:42Speaker 9: they're not gonna they're not going to test the post
- 32:44Speaker 9: safety anyways. And then put Jalen Mills on Goddard.
- 32:47Speaker 5: And I do think the Patriots also have an advantage
- 32:49Speaker 5: in that regard. I don't think the Eagles tight end
- 32:52Speaker 5: safeties are going to be great matchups for Gasiki and Henry.
- 32:56Speaker 5: I think those are they're young guys. You know, in
- 32:59Speaker 5: Blanken Chips, Casey played like you started like five games
- 33:01Speaker 5: last year as an undrafted rookie. That's a big jump now,
- 33:05Speaker 5: like you kind of were a good story as a rookie.
- 33:08Speaker 5: You know, you make make the team, you get some
- 33:10Speaker 5: playing time. Now you're the man.
- 33:11Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, maybe Mapu I mean not right out
- 33:15Speaker 6: of the gate on Goddard, but but maybe that's like
- 33:17Speaker 6: I mean, I just I like a lot what I
- 33:19Speaker 6: saw from Mills this year in springs and summer and stuff.
- 33:22Speaker 6: But like, I don't know, I think like he's still
- 33:25Speaker 6: kind of my ideal choice on the back end. Like
- 33:27Speaker 6: I don't know, I get I just that's for me.
- 33:30Speaker 6: I think you got to protect against those deep balls
- 33:32Speaker 6: against those guys, and I'm sure that there's gonna be
- 33:34Speaker 6: some shots coming against Christian Gonzalez. And I'm just curious
- 33:38Speaker 6: how they match up too. On the outside of those
- 33:39Speaker 6: two guys, do they you know, follow them, they didn't
- 33:42Speaker 6: match up with them.
- 33:43Speaker 5: I was thinking about it since Monday. I you know,
- 33:45Speaker 5: I don't know. I mean, it's probably right. I was
- 33:48Speaker 5: looking at those two guys in the outside, like I
- 33:50Speaker 5: think you got a double them both, and I know
- 33:52Speaker 5: that that sort of leaves you thin. But I don't
- 33:55Speaker 5: know if you can ask Christian Gonzalez to take one
- 33:57Speaker 5: of those guys by himself, either one not doubt. I
- 34:01Speaker 5: don't like the physicality of Brown and the speed and
- 34:05Speaker 5: quickness of Smith.
- 34:07Speaker 6: I just yeah, I was just gonna say, I don't
- 34:09Speaker 6: think the experience is there to say like it might
- 34:11Speaker 6: have been in the past when you had, say, you know,
- 34:13Speaker 6: Gilmour and Jesse Jackson.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Was fillmore, I would say, he's my best I'm gonna
- 34:17Speaker 5: put him against Brown and I'm gonna take my lumps
- 34:19Speaker 5: if I have to. But I like that matchup. I
- 34:21Speaker 5: don't know if you can ask yeah, and that.
- 34:23Speaker 6: Like they'll get a beat on it, you know, like
- 34:24Speaker 6: when you just know, like, hey, they're they're matching guys. Now,
- 34:27Speaker 6: it's this is what it is. Like, I think even
- 34:29Speaker 6: if they do that from some downs, they've got to
- 34:30Speaker 6: disguise it. They can't let him know when it's going
- 34:33Speaker 6: to be Gonzalez one on one on the outside with
- 34:35Speaker 6: a j Brown going down the field, you know, like
- 34:36Speaker 6: they have to they have to disguise things and and
- 34:39Speaker 6: and muddle it up a little bit for him.
- 34:40Speaker 5: Do you think we'll see Jack Jones yes, starting or
- 34:44Speaker 5: like ish like one of the three corners significant snap
- 34:48Speaker 5: Jack Jones, Jonathan Jones, Christian Gonzales. The top three corners.
- 34:53Speaker 9: I don't think this is the game for Jack Jones, Okay,
- 34:55Speaker 9: just in general, So I bets off. I don't think
- 34:58Speaker 9: it's the game for Jack Jones's wedding is because you
- 35:02Speaker 9: got to be able to tackle in this game, and
- 35:05Speaker 9: you got to be disciplined in this game, because they're
- 35:07Speaker 9: gonna mess with you, like they they're gonna show you
- 35:09Speaker 9: window dressing all game long. It's gonna be motion over here.
- 35:13Speaker 9: You think we're hitting over there, but actually we're doing
- 35:15Speaker 9: this and there. You have complimentary plays, like they run
- 35:17Speaker 9: a lot of slant flat, but then they'll run a
- 35:19Speaker 9: slugo all of a sudden, and if you think it's
- 35:22Speaker 9: slant flat and you jump that slant, it's a forty
- 35:24Speaker 9: yard touchdown over your head.
- 35:25Speaker 5: So who's the third guy? Assuming I wonder if I
- 35:28Speaker 5: wonder if they go three saves all safety?
- 35:30Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, I put Gonzalez and Jonathan Jones out there
- 35:34Speaker 9: with the three saves.
- 35:35Speaker 6: What was lunch?
- 35:36Speaker 5: Yeah, but for what exactly, I don't know it was.
- 35:39Speaker 6: I think you thought he was gonna start, I don't.
- 35:41Speaker 5: I mean, I think he's gonna When I say start,
- 35:43Speaker 5: I don't mean, like the first play of the game,
- 35:45Speaker 5: I mean, I know, I like when they have three corners,
- 35:47Speaker 5: he's one of the three corners. I think that that's possible.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I think he plays.
- 35:51Speaker 6: I think he replays twenty twenty five steps.
- 35:52Speaker 9: How many times are they in third down? That's a
- 35:55Speaker 9: good point that like third in in passing, Like I.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Would rather have Jonathan Jones in thist with Jack Jones
- 36:01Speaker 5: and Gonzales outside and Mike didn't. I think that was
- 36:06Speaker 5: sort of I was leaning.
- 36:07Speaker 6: More towards what I think the safeties, you know, worrying
- 36:09Speaker 6: about Goddard and not.
- 36:10Speaker 5: You know, listen, like there's a reason, Like here's the
- 36:13Speaker 5: other thing about the whole Jack Jones stuff that we
- 36:15Speaker 5: haven't no one's really talked about, like his like extensive
- 36:19Speaker 5: playing time in the preseason. Could they have been evaluating
- 36:23Speaker 5: him like Okay, so here's a guy that we've we've
- 36:26Speaker 5: put a lot, we've gone like out of our way
- 36:30Speaker 5: to hold on to him, right. I mean even the
- 36:34Speaker 5: scary lawyer said that, like we want to thank the Patriots, yeah,
- 36:38Speaker 5: you know, for for I want to say something about, uh,
- 36:42Speaker 5: he almost lost his job. So I think that I
- 36:44Speaker 5: think she used the phrase he almost lost his job.
- 36:47Speaker 5: So they've gone out of their way? Is Bill maybe
- 36:51Speaker 5: looking at us like, how worth it is this kid
- 36:54Speaker 5: that we've put ourselves in a position when we look bad?
- 36:56Speaker 14: Now?
- 36:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean maybe that's why he played so much.
- 36:59Speaker 6: I mean, I would just say I thought he looked
- 37:01Speaker 6: excellent in Green Bay, you know, in the joint practices.
- 37:04Speaker 6: I thought one of the second day was one of
- 37:06Speaker 6: his best days I've seen. But he looked terrible in
- 37:08Speaker 6: the last preseason game.
- 37:09Speaker 5: So I don't think that played well in any of
- 37:10Speaker 5: the games.
- 37:11Speaker 6: You know, I don't.
- 37:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I I now that I thought means less to
- 37:14Speaker 5: me than practice. That last preseason game.
- 37:15Speaker 6: Looked as bad as I think I've ever seen him play.
- 37:17Speaker 6: So I just like, I don't know what it is
- 37:20Speaker 6: like it was he pissed that he was playing?
- 37:22Speaker 5: Was he you know those kind of like it's just
- 37:24Speaker 5: he admitted Evan and I were on the second one
- 37:27Speaker 5: when about battling focus problems. Now, maybe that's a big
- 37:31Speaker 5: thing that he no longer has to worry about.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe it's a way he's maybe he's cleared, you know,
- 37:36Speaker 2: in his head now.
- 37:37Speaker 6: Or even he was thinking what you're thinking, he didn't
- 37:39Speaker 6: realize he was going to be playing the whole game
- 37:41Speaker 6: in the third preseason game, and as it snowballed on
- 37:43Speaker 6: him and he was playing bad and he was getting frustrated.
- 37:45Speaker 6: I mean, you know, I I forget what I heard
- 37:47Speaker 6: Felgrim as a little bit yesterday on it. I forget.
- 37:50Speaker 6: I think they were like, he runs hot, you know,
- 37:51Speaker 6: like I think he's an emotional definitely an emotional kid practice.
- 37:56Speaker 5: Yeah, and I don't know if I've ever seen that,
- 37:58Speaker 5: Like someone asked me if I had ever seen anything
- 38:00Speaker 5: like that. I've seen the coaches ask guys to leave
- 38:03Speaker 5: all the time. Happens every single year. I don't know
- 38:06Speaker 5: if I've ever seen if that's what happened. I don't
- 38:09Speaker 5: know if I've ever seen a player just decide to
- 38:11Speaker 5: leave on his own.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he's he's kind of a lie, and that's when
- 38:13Speaker 2: wont come back.
- 38:14Speaker 6: I mean, if it wasn't an injury, like going in
- 38:16Speaker 6: to get something tape.
- 38:17Speaker 5: Which leads that's what led everybody to believe that he
- 38:19Speaker 5: wasn't asked to leave.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, he's a little bit of the teapot.
- 38:23Speaker 6: Yeah, and I mean, and I mean, it's it's tough
- 38:25Speaker 6: at that position because that's we all know that position.
- 38:27Speaker 2: You got you know, and let it go.
- 38:31Speaker 9: He's just too undisciplined to me for this game. I'm
- 38:34Speaker 9: just I would be really concerned about them playing mine.
- 38:36Speaker 9: That's an interesting point, but I I'm not nearly as concerned.
- 38:40Speaker 9: I don't think with the passing game as as maybe
- 38:42Speaker 9: you guys are.
- 38:43Speaker 5: I'm concerned with everything so me.
- 38:45Speaker 2: So I know that we we don't get to see
- 38:49Speaker 2: much of practice anymore. But is there anything to be
- 38:53Speaker 2: gleaned out of what you're gonna be able to see today?
- 38:55Speaker 2: I mean, we're not even we're not even gonna know
- 38:57Speaker 2: who the starting offensive line is.
- 39:00Speaker 9: We do get that, like sometimes we get that very
- 39:02Speaker 9: first period where they're running, you know, doing kind of
- 39:06Speaker 9: walk through ish type of stuff, but they don't really
- 39:09Speaker 9: like us reporting on what we see in terms of
- 39:11Speaker 9: combinations and things like that. So I don't know. I mean,
- 39:14Speaker 9: we might have an inkling.
- 39:17Speaker 2: And then there'll be open locker room today at like
- 39:19Speaker 2: five or something like that.
- 39:21Speaker 6: Five, we'll get Mac this afternoon, a couple other guys
- 39:24Speaker 6: before locker room, and then yeh.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Mac is going to the podium before locker room. Yeah,
- 39:28Speaker 5: I think so after practice.
- 39:29Speaker 2: That's a new thing where they send the guys to
- 39:32Speaker 2: podium for locker room, and then they have the open
- 39:34Speaker 2: locker room.
- 39:35Speaker 6: Gives us a little extra time.
- 39:36Speaker 5: It's partly because of the construction. You can't get because
- 39:40Speaker 5: you can't get from hair to theres, like the new
- 39:43Speaker 5: media work room is not conducive to get into the
- 39:46Speaker 5: locker room.
- 39:46Speaker 2: And that makes sense.
- 39:47Speaker 9: Yeah, you can't go back and forth.
- 39:48Speaker 6: Where will the new media workroom be when it's.
- 39:51Speaker 2: I don't think they know yet.
- 39:52Speaker 6: Yeah, because this is a problem that we could possibly
- 39:55Speaker 6: have on the forward, I guess, yeah, but just could
- 39:58Speaker 6: be the same thing if it's not close to the
- 40:00Speaker 6: locker room.
- 40:00Speaker 2: A tent outside the podium, tent pulls good for you,
- 40:05Speaker 2: pull pond good?
- 40:07Speaker 5: All right, construction down out there? Can we use the
- 40:09Speaker 5: blue gate?
- 40:10Speaker 6: We're not supposed to.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Turn that yet. Now a sticket outline is a five
- 40:13Speaker 2: five past five hundred. Let's get people involved here. We'll
- 40:17Speaker 2: go to John and Louisiana. What's up John? Yeah, all right, question.
- 40:23Speaker 12: I kind of wish what I said yesterday about mag
- 40:26Speaker 12: needs to take the team over the top. But a
- 40:28Speaker 12: lot of people are saying, you know, he doesn't have
- 40:29Speaker 12: the weapons. But I look at a team like Jacksonville
- 40:32Speaker 12: last year, I had Christian Kirk, Marvin Jones, Jamal As
- 40:36Speaker 12: what Evan ingraman, I'm looking at our teams saying our
- 40:38Speaker 12: team is just as good as that team last year,
- 40:40Speaker 12: So why not make Why make Kings think that them
- 40:43Speaker 12: this year?
- 40:43Speaker 2: With those he can and I think I think he does.
- 40:46Speaker 2: The weapons are good enough. Now they're not great, but
- 40:50Speaker 2: they're good enough. And somebody made you know the point,
- 40:53Speaker 2: if you put Mahomes on this team, they'd be fine,
- 40:56Speaker 2: they'd be great.
- 40:58Speaker 5: You know that's not fair, that's not there.
- 41:00Speaker 2: But I'm just saying that.
- 41:02Speaker 5: Yes, if you had an elite quarterback, you have enough talent.
- 41:05Speaker 2: But there's enough. I think I think that the weapons
- 41:08Speaker 2: on this team are good enough. If you're a good quarterback,
- 41:12Speaker 2: you can you can win with these. I would I would.
- 41:14Speaker 5: I'm gonna I'm gonna surprise you here. I'm gonna defend
- 41:16Speaker 5: Mack the one put the Jacksonville comp first. I would
- 41:22Speaker 5: say I think there. I think, like Christian Kirk and
- 41:25Speaker 5: ingram A better players than the Patriots, have better weapons.
- 41:30Speaker 5: But I would also say, yeah, Trevor Lawrence, Jags, they
- 41:34Speaker 5: had a good year. How'd they do? Nine and eight?
- 41:38Speaker 5: Like you went eight and nine. They went nine and
- 41:39Speaker 5: eight in.
- 41:40Speaker 2: A terrible division.
- 41:41Speaker 5: So I agreed they're on the rise. I think that
- 41:45Speaker 5: Trevor Lawrence is sort of starting to get it, and
- 41:49Speaker 5: I think he'll be I'm not trying to be like argumentative.
- 41:51Speaker 5: I see the ability that everybody else does, but I
- 41:55Speaker 5: think Mac Jones is perfectly capable of being nine and
- 41:58Speaker 5: eight last year instead of I think they easily could
- 42:01Speaker 5: have won another game. You know, So I've been critical
- 42:04Speaker 5: of Mac, but I want to be fair about that too.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but again, just the eyeball test. You
- 42:10Speaker 2: saw Trevor Lawrence come on last year. You know, he.
- 42:13Speaker 5: Didn't think they did things coming from behind.
- 42:15Speaker 2: He he did things last year that Mac hasn't done yet.
- 42:19Speaker 5: Correct fourth quarter comebacks, overtime performances, down like three scores
- 42:24Speaker 5: to Dallas in the game. Yeah, I have I have
- 42:28Speaker 5: seen that, and I haven't really seen it from Max.
- 42:30Speaker 5: But I'm just trying to be fair, like I don't
- 42:32Speaker 5: think first of all, I think Jacksonville has better weapons
- 42:36Speaker 5: than the Patriots, And second, I don't think that Jacksonville's
- 42:39Speaker 5: really achieved so much to say like, well, you know,
- 42:42Speaker 5: Mac couldn't do that I make.
- 42:44Speaker 9: I think Mack could Jacksonville and the Chargers are on
- 42:47Speaker 9: my radar is the most overhyped teams in the NFL
- 42:50Speaker 9: right now.
- 42:50Speaker 5: And yeah a lot of people don't think the Chargers
- 42:52Speaker 5: is gonna make the playoffs, which I don't get, but yeah,
- 42:54Speaker 5: you're right.
- 42:55Speaker 9: I mean, I agree with everything that you all said
- 42:58Speaker 9: about Trevor Lawrence, like that guy can obviously play and
- 43:01Speaker 9: has done things that Mac hasn't done. But to the caller,
- 43:04Speaker 9: I just like, why are we we're getting mad at
- 43:07Speaker 9: mact for things that he hasn't done yet, Like, let's
- 43:09Speaker 9: see how he plays, Like you know, now it's on
- 43:12Speaker 9: the line this year. I think all of us are
- 43:14Speaker 9: in agreement that I play. I made plenty of excuses
- 43:16Speaker 9: for him last year and I'm not here.
- 43:18Speaker 5: You might not be doing it this year, but they
- 43:20Speaker 5: will be made.
- 43:21Speaker 9: And you all can hold me accountable. If I started
- 43:23Speaker 9: going down excuse highway again with Mac, then you know
- 43:27Speaker 9: this is this is it? Like at this point he
- 43:30Speaker 9: needs to be he needs to show us that he
- 43:33Speaker 9: is a franchise quarterback like that, whether it's okay, like now,
- 43:37Speaker 9: it's good enough that if we get a number one
- 43:40Speaker 9: receiver in here. Next year we get his Staffan Diggs,
- 43:43Speaker 9: and then we really hit the ground running in year four.
- 43:45Speaker 9: But we need to know after this season whether or
- 43:47Speaker 9: not Mac is the future.
- 43:48Speaker 2: I mean the question you asked after the season, are
- 43:51Speaker 2: you willing to pay this guy thirty million dollars a
- 43:53Speaker 2: year or more?
- 43:54Speaker 5: Safe?
- 43:55Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 43:56Speaker 5: He ain't getting him for thirty million, yeah or whatever.
- 43:58Speaker 9: Wouldn't give Brady that, you know, It's always like the
- 44:00Speaker 9: thing I you know, you talk about it with other
- 44:02Speaker 9: sports of the trade deadline, like do you want to
- 44:03Speaker 9: invest in this team? And for me, it's do you
- 44:05Speaker 9: want to invest in Mac Jones being your quarterback? Whether
- 44:08Speaker 9: it's him personally with the contract, or do they go
- 44:11Speaker 9: into next offseason and say, well, the quarterback took a
- 44:14Speaker 9: really big step. Now we really feel like we're a
- 44:16Speaker 9: player or two away on offense from being a really
- 44:18Speaker 9: good offense. And they do go out there and they
- 44:21Speaker 9: spend the extra money on them, that would be the.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Best case scenario.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let's go to Donnie in Pittsburgh. What's
- 44:28Speaker 2: up Donnie Donnay.
- 44:30Speaker 15: Hey, guys, thanks for taking the call. Sure, so, just
- 44:33Speaker 15: wanted to speak sort of on Jack Jones. Is this
- 44:36Speaker 15: thing wrapped up. Very relieved that he's going to be
- 44:38Speaker 15: available to play, and you know, just speaking on the
- 44:41Speaker 15: whole situation and the uncertainty that was out there. This
- 44:47Speaker 15: has happened twenty seven times over here in Pittsburgh at
- 44:50Speaker 15: our airport this year, so I don't think it's that uncommon,
- 44:53Speaker 15: and you know a lot of the time, you know,
- 44:56Speaker 15: there's not a big fine or a big criminal penalty.
- 44:58Speaker 15: So just happy to see him back on the field
- 45:00Speaker 15: and glad that we're done talking about it. In on
- 45:02Speaker 15: the football side of things, I'm really excited about the
- 45:04Speaker 15: d line group and the wide receiver group. I think
- 45:06Speaker 15: the depth is being understated and it's going to create
- 45:08Speaker 15: a lot of bad matchups for the opponents.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Okay, they hope you're right.
- 45:11Speaker 5: The depth of the wide receiver group, I think they
- 45:14Speaker 5: have depth. They might not have a dude, but they
- 45:16Speaker 5: have depth.
- 45:17Speaker 2: But but if it's if it's decent depth.
- 45:20Speaker 5: I think sie third receiver someday, if.
- 45:22Speaker 2: You know, it may not be top shelf depth, but
- 45:24Speaker 2: if it's good depth and Mac can spread the ball
- 45:27Speaker 2: around and can find that open guy, yeah, we're in business.
- 45:31Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's I mean Seven's point. It's you know,
- 45:33Speaker 6: you hired an Alabama offensive coordinator, somebody who's I mean,
- 45:36Speaker 6: it's like what other fit would there be, like other
- 45:38Speaker 6: than Bill O'Brien for Mac to come, you know, to
- 45:40Speaker 6: come in here and right the wrongs of last year.
- 45:43Speaker 6: So hopefully he's able to you know, spin the dial
- 45:46Speaker 6: and get guys in position to be successful and Max
- 45:49Speaker 6: in the you know as control of the offense too.
- 45:52Speaker 6: I mean, I think that's something that was improved this year.
- 45:54Speaker 6: He just looked more comfortable at the line of scrimmage.
- 45:55Speaker 6: You know, he looked like he was back in control
- 45:57Speaker 6: of you know, what was going on, what he was
- 45:59Speaker 6: seeing on the defense, what he needed to do to adjust.
- 46:01Speaker 6: And now you know, now he's got to do it
- 46:03Speaker 6: against a real good defense that yeah, you know, it
- 46:05Speaker 6: doesn't really need to spend the dial. They can just
- 46:07Speaker 6: come get you in. I mean, I like to I
- 46:08Speaker 6: think I Max said on the radio yesterday, like, you know,
- 46:10Speaker 6: we all we all understand that they got a bunch
- 46:12Speaker 6: of monsters over there that are you know, that are coming.
- 46:14Speaker 6: So I mean, they're well aware of what they're up against.
- 46:16Speaker 2: So let's say the Patriots you know, lose the toss
- 46:19Speaker 2: and they're on offense first right, because Philly will probably defer,
- 46:24Speaker 2: what's your script, what's your what's your first you know,
- 46:28Speaker 2: handful of plays.
- 46:29Speaker 5: Po quick slant, Yeah, r P O r PO again,
- 46:33Speaker 5: I'm looking for seven I'm looking for seven plus yards
- 46:36Speaker 5: on first down another r.
- 46:37Speaker 6: PO twenty two personnel remandree right up the beat out.
- 46:43Speaker 5: That's what That's what I'm gonna play.
- 46:47Speaker 2: But you know, right off the bat, do you get
- 46:49Speaker 2: Kasiki in there to like get him okay, you know
- 46:52Speaker 2: you got to pay attention to this guy by him well,
- 46:55Speaker 2: just because he's new. Get him into the game right away,
- 46:58Speaker 2: give him, make Philly think about him right away, you know.
- 47:03Speaker 6: I mean I think, for me, if there's an element
- 47:05Speaker 6: of pace that I would like to see involved in
- 47:06Speaker 6: the first game of the season where Philly hasn't played
- 47:09Speaker 6: a lot and you know, to maybe go fast and
- 47:11Speaker 6: try to get out there and you know, get personnel
- 47:13Speaker 6: in and out so that you're really rolling.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Everyone always wants to do that until it doesn't work
- 47:17Speaker 2: and it's like I get nothing.
- 47:19Speaker 5: I like tempo, but I'm just I would like to
- 47:22Speaker 5: see them, like I said, I saw them throw a
- 47:25Speaker 5: lot of slants, like let's complete one to start things
- 47:28Speaker 5: off and make it second in three second and two
- 47:30Speaker 5: and then you know the crowd's all going to be
- 47:33Speaker 5: jacked up at the start of the game. You know,
- 47:35Speaker 5: a run for two yards isn't going to get anybody.
- 47:37Speaker 9: Jack, but they're running on the me know that. But
- 47:40Speaker 9: can go back to Jack Jones for a second Jones,
- 47:42Speaker 9: because I feel like this, and I'm not picking on
- 47:45Speaker 9: the caller, but like I feel like his sentiment about
- 47:48Speaker 9: being so excited about Jack Jones playing is I think
- 47:51Speaker 9: a lot of Patriots fans feel very high on Jack Jones.
- 47:56Speaker 9: I'm not sure Jack Jones is good at football yet, Like,
- 47:59Speaker 9: I feel like Jack Jones made two really good plays
- 48:01Speaker 9: last year, including the pick six against the Packers, which
- 48:04Speaker 9: was clearly the like welcome to the NFL moment for him,
- 48:07Speaker 9: and then a whole lot of inconsistency.
- 48:10Speaker 6: Other than that, And I'm in off the field.
- 48:12Speaker 9: I'm just not sure where the is it just because
- 48:16Speaker 9: of the highlights that from.
- 48:18Speaker 2: That his m O that he's a chance taker, he'll
- 48:21Speaker 2: make a play, but then he'll give up a play.
- 48:23Speaker 5: You know, well, according to I think it was a
- 48:30Speaker 5: personnel guy around the league that he already talked to
- 48:33Speaker 5: he'll make a play and give up too, and we'll
- 48:36Speaker 5: take those odds.
- 48:37Speaker 9: That personnel guy, I mean, I don't know who it was,
- 48:40Speaker 9: anonymous personnel guy.
- 48:41Speaker 6: I don't disagree. I would just say that over the
- 48:43Speaker 6: course of the summer, I mean I was, I was
- 48:45Speaker 6: impressed with him at times. I mean, I think I
- 48:47Speaker 6: do think he can play with but I think he's
- 48:49Speaker 6: I think he's a wild card, you know.
- 48:51Speaker 9: And it was really good at the beginning. Was that
- 48:54Speaker 9: the spring or the beginning of camp, I get I
- 48:57Speaker 9: don't remember.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Most of training camp he spent covering like Tyric Pitts
- 49:02Speaker 5: and those guys in all. Seriously, he did not get
- 49:04Speaker 5: a lot of reps. I know, we can't we're not
- 49:06Speaker 5: allowed to say he did not get a lot of
- 49:09Speaker 5: reps that would necessarily translate to what we might see
- 49:11Speaker 5: in the regular season.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Right.
- 49:14Speaker 9: There's just a lot of inconsistency in his game that
- 49:19Speaker 9: I don't necessarily know if you think about when you
- 49:22Speaker 9: just think about Jack Jones, but when you go and
- 49:25Speaker 9: you really study it down to down, like that Packers
- 49:28Speaker 9: game is a great example. Everybody comes off that Packers
- 49:30Speaker 9: game like he played out of his mind. Over time
- 49:33Speaker 9: or the fact that he was burned twice for touchdowns
- 49:36Speaker 9: and Aaron Rodgers just didn't see the guy. So I'm
- 49:40Speaker 9: not trying to like rag on Jack Jones. Like I
- 49:42Speaker 9: think that he's got talent.
- 49:43Speaker 5: It's certainly better that he got off and he will
- 49:46Speaker 5: be part of it. Yes, But I think you're right.
- 49:48Speaker 5: I think the reaction in some it was funny. Did
- 49:51Speaker 5: you feel like there was some anger yesterday with fans
- 49:55Speaker 5: people calling, which I thought was a little odd, Oh
- 49:57Speaker 5: for us, not us, No, with Jack what he got
- 50:00Speaker 5: like sort of outrage that.
- 50:03Speaker 2: I think there were a couple you know, Oh, it
- 50:04Speaker 2: was a lot.
- 50:05Speaker 5: Yeah, which I was surprised at. And I think that's
- 50:08Speaker 5: just speaks to the negativity of the callers in general.
- 50:10Speaker 2: But I think there was facts out there that came
- 50:13Speaker 2: out that we didn't know about, like like what they
- 50:15Speaker 2: were registered guns in Arizona and he was going through
- 50:18Speaker 2: the process of getting them registered here. That wasn't immediately
- 50:22Speaker 2: it was, oh, they're unregistered guns.
- 50:24Speaker 5: I did not read that. Yeah, I didn't say you
- 50:27Speaker 5: were wrong, Yah said I did not read that.
- 50:29Speaker 2: I mean things came out.
- 50:30Speaker 5: I did not learn anything yesterday that I didn't know
- 50:33Speaker 5: from me.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 50:34Speaker 5: Other than that, the DA can evidently just say we
- 50:37Speaker 5: were not going to be able to prove that he
- 50:39Speaker 5: knew that they were That's the only thing that came out. Yes, yeah,
- 50:41Speaker 5: but the DA said, we couldn't prove that they were
- 50:43Speaker 5: in this bag, but he knew they were in this
- 50:45Speaker 5: I read that, you know, which is something I'm going
- 50:46Speaker 5: to have in my little memory bank moving forward if
- 50:48Speaker 5: I ever do something strong.
- 50:50Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing people were saying, I didn't pack
- 50:51Speaker 2: the bag. Yeah, you know, that's what But that's what
- 50:55Speaker 2: I read is that they were registered in Arizona and
- 50:57Speaker 2: he was.
- 50:58Speaker 5: The Arizona part came out. The fact that they were
- 51:01Speaker 5: registered to him came out a long time ago.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Well okay, and then they.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Said they were his guns, and.
- 51:06Speaker 2: They presented the evidence that he was in the process
- 51:09Speaker 2: of getting them registered in Massachusetts. I didn't know that.
- 51:13Speaker 5: That didn't mean what does that change the story. I
- 51:15Speaker 5: don't understand how that changes the story in any way.
- 51:18Speaker 2: I don't want to get into a whole thing, Okay,
- 51:20Speaker 2: you know, but I'm just saying that that the information
- 51:22Speaker 2: that came out immediately was they were unregistered guns.
- 51:25Speaker 5: Not the information that came out. This is what I'm saying.
- 51:27Speaker 5: You're misleading people that didn't come out. People were wondering
- 51:31Speaker 5: if they were registered. The very that very day that
- 51:34Speaker 5: the arrest happened, they got the police report and it
- 51:37Speaker 5: said that they were registered. To him, the police report
- 51:40Speaker 5: that day said that they were registered.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Don't remember that.
- 51:43Speaker 5: I do. I know you don't listen to those shows.
- 51:46Speaker 5: You and a lot of other people claim that you're
- 51:47Speaker 5: too good for those shows. But they read it on
- 51:51Speaker 5: to get personal.
- 51:52Speaker 2: You know, he has, he has to get personal.
- 51:53Speaker 5: Well, I mean, you're saying that they were making it
- 51:58Speaker 5: out to be like a deflate gate time said the overinflated,
- 52:02Speaker 5: and that was false. Listen, that didn't happen.
- 52:04Speaker 2: All I know is that what I heard immediately when
- 52:06Speaker 2: this happened was they were unregistered guns and this whole.
- 52:10Speaker 5: Thing were right away unlicensed gun unlicensed. Yeah, you got
- 52:16Speaker 5: you guys remember something. I know. I don't remember this, Okay,
- 52:18Speaker 5: But because I do wrong, because you're I apologize, thank you,
- 52:25Speaker 5: I apologize. I don't remember it. I don't remember them
- 52:27Speaker 5: being unregistered.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Obviously, obviously Paul's blood sugar is low, but his food
- 52:33Speaker 2: is here. We're gonna take a break now, don't forget
- 52:37Speaker 2: the Show within a Show. We've got the posters we're
- 52:41Speaker 2: gonna give away three. They're signed by the artist, numbered
- 52:45Speaker 2: the only two seventy five available. They come with a
- 52:49Speaker 2: certificate of authenticity. So this is really cool. Stick around
- 52:52Speaker 2: for the Show within a Show. We'll be back after
- 52:54Speaker 2: Paul gets his blood sugar back up.
- 52:56Speaker 8: Get in on the action with DraftKings, the official daily
- 52:59Speaker 8: fantasy partner of the New England Patriots. New customers can
- 53:01Speaker 8: download the DraftKings app now and play free for millions
- 53:04Speaker 8: in prizes using code Pats. That's code Pats only at DraftKings.
- 53:07Speaker 8: Minimum five dollars deposit required. Eligibility restrictions apply. See DraftKings
- 53:11Speaker 8: dot com for details.
- 53:15Speaker 16: All right, we're back to the Show within a Show.
- 53:18Speaker 16: I think this is episode three, maybe four, but we're
- 53:22Speaker 16: still going. So I'm going to open the show with
- 53:24Speaker 16: some trivia like we always do, but the prize is
- 53:27Speaker 16: gonna be a little different this.
- 53:28Speaker 11: Time, and we'll get to the prize at the end
- 53:30Speaker 11: of the show.
- 53:31Speaker 16: So question one, who was the only quarterback that went
- 53:35Speaker 16: three and oh against Tom Brady? All Right, who was
- 53:38Speaker 16: the only quarterback that is three and oh against Tom Brady.
- 53:42Speaker 16: Question two, who did Rob Gronkowski score his first touchdown
- 53:48Speaker 16: reception against?
- 53:50Speaker 14: All Right?
- 53:51Speaker 16: And question three what quarterback did Tie log get his
- 53:54Speaker 16: first career interception against?
- 53:56Speaker 2: All Right?
- 53:57Speaker 16: That is the first round of trivia for the day,
- 54:00Speaker 16: and the prize will be different and we'll get to
- 54:02Speaker 16: that at the end of the show. But we've got
- 54:04Speaker 16: a first time guest here, Karina Santos, who works with
- 54:08Speaker 16: our Patriots graphic design team, Correct Creative Service Creative Services.
- 54:14Speaker 16: So all those awesome images and graphics you see on
- 54:17Speaker 16: Patriots dot Com Instagram, there's a good chance she is
- 54:20Speaker 16: the woman behind the design there.
- 54:21Speaker 7: It's true.
- 54:22Speaker 16: And so I am having Karina on the show today
- 54:25Speaker 16: to talk about a project that she's been spearheading. And yeah, Karna,
- 54:29Speaker 16: tell me what have you been what you've been working on?
- 54:32Speaker 7: So basically what I've been working on is that we've
- 54:35Speaker 7: been collaborating with local artists in New England and the
- 54:39Speaker 7: New England Patriots are launching a series of exclusive and
- 54:42Speaker 7: limited edition posters, especially designed to commemorate the home games
- 54:46Speaker 7: played at Gillette Stadium during the twenty twenty three season.
- 54:49Speaker 7: So each poster is limited edition, uniquely numbered and signed
- 54:53Speaker 7: by the artist, and everyone has a different look and
- 54:57Speaker 7: feel and it's going to be showcasing every map that
- 55:00Speaker 7: we have at home. And only two hundred and seventy
- 55:03Speaker 7: five posters will be created, so you'll want to get
- 55:06Speaker 7: yours asap because once those sell out, no more are coming.
- 55:11Speaker 7: That's it.
- 55:12Speaker 16: Yes, And I've seen these posters are all awesome. All
- 55:15Speaker 16: have different, very different.
- 55:16Speaker 11: Styles, which is very cool, very cool.
- 55:19Speaker 16: And also this is this is a pretty exclusive thing
- 55:22Speaker 16: we have here right Like you know, think how many
- 55:25Speaker 16: were made for each each poster.
- 55:27Speaker 7: So we are selling two one hundred and fifty posters.
- 55:31Speaker 7: Each poster is signed and numbered by the artists themselves.
- 55:35Speaker 7: They have all come out to Jillette Stadium within the
- 55:37Speaker 7: past two weeks to sign and number them. They've taken
- 55:40Speaker 7: their photo with them to help promote it. It's gonna
- 55:42Speaker 7: be it's gonna be really cool. I think the fans
- 55:44Speaker 7: are really gonna like it. Everything's really unique. Everything is
- 55:48Speaker 7: if you follow our social media, it's a little different
- 55:50Speaker 7: than what we do because every artist has their own
- 55:52Speaker 7: take on it. It's really really awesome.
- 55:54Speaker 16: And this is pretty cool because I think you put out,
- 55:57Speaker 16: like you know, submit to join type thing like you
- 56:00Speaker 16: put feelers out on LinkedIn Instagram. So these are all
- 56:03Speaker 16: Patriots fans, yes, who are coming up with their own
- 56:06Speaker 16: design and each game has their own personal twists. So
- 56:09Speaker 16: that's pretty cool. And I'm pretty sure we're doing again
- 56:11Speaker 16: next year, right, If that's the plan.
- 56:13Speaker 7: I hope, so, so hopefully fans are liking what we're doing,
- 56:18Speaker 7: you know, purchase a poster or two or three, or
- 56:20Speaker 7: you know, however many you want. I think the goal
- 56:23Speaker 7: is to bring it back next year. You know, this
- 56:25Speaker 7: past year, we've had over two hundred and fifty applicants.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Okay, so I.
- 56:30Speaker 7: Went through and looked at every single person's portfolio and
- 56:35Speaker 7: you know, came up with a list of eight to
- 56:36Speaker 7: ten people that I'd really like to work with. And
- 56:39Speaker 7: next year, I'm hoping that we get even more applicants.
- 56:42Speaker 7: So we'll definitely be promoting it at the end of
- 56:44Speaker 7: the season for sure.
- 56:45Speaker 16: And so we're not the first team that has done this, right,
- 56:49Speaker 16: You were inspired by some others, but of course, obviously
- 56:52Speaker 16: Fred will say later he thinks is going to be
- 56:54Speaker 16: the best. I think so, But which can you compare
- 56:58Speaker 16: them to some other teams? Like I know the step
- 57:00Speaker 16: did one like is, how how are ours different than
- 57:02Speaker 16: the other teams?
- 57:04Speaker 7: So I think we kind of luck out that we
- 57:07Speaker 7: have all of New England to look into, so we
- 57:09Speaker 7: can you know, get artists from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut,
- 57:13Speaker 7: New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine. Like, we have so many opportunities
- 57:18Speaker 7: to reach a different, like different group of people. So
- 57:23Speaker 7: I think we have the better chance of being really
- 57:27Speaker 7: really good because we just have such a large variety.
- 57:30Speaker 7: Where the Seahawks, that's who we got our inspo from,
- 57:34Speaker 7: really talented, really awesome, but they're kind of limited to
- 57:36Speaker 7: you know, the Washington area. But we get so many
- 57:39Speaker 7: states to look into.
- 57:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:40Speaker 16: Also it was pretty cool is we have a lot
- 57:42Speaker 16: of big games this year, so we have we have
- 57:44Speaker 16: Tom returning this week, yes, and we have throwback Yeah,
- 57:48Speaker 16: going to Germany. They're getting their own.
- 57:49Speaker 7: Special ones too, are German artists?
- 57:51Speaker 16: Yeap from Germany German artists. We're gaining that signed as well. Yeah,
- 57:56Speaker 16: so you know, there's a lot of cool stuff out there.
- 58:00Speaker 16: See what else we got.
- 58:02Speaker 2: Anything else we want to describe about her career?
- 58:03Speaker 7: Come on, we got uh, what do we got?
- 58:07Speaker 11: What's your how about this? What's your favorite one? Let's
- 58:09Speaker 11: rank your top three.
- 58:10Speaker 7: I can't rank my top three because they're also awesome.
- 58:12Speaker 11: Okay, just come on, rank top three, top three.
- 58:14Speaker 6: No, I can't top favorite three.
- 58:16Speaker 7: I can't say favorite. They're all like.
- 58:20Speaker 11: No order, top three, no order. Time, just like the
- 58:22Speaker 11: top three that stand out to you.
- 58:25Speaker 7: I like what I think, maybe like fans would like
- 58:27Speaker 7: the most.
- 58:27Speaker 11: Yeah, there we go.
- 58:29Speaker 7: I love them all equally. I think they're all gray,
- 58:31Speaker 7: and I definitely don't want to say that I have
- 58:32Speaker 7: a favorite one. But I think fans are really going
- 58:35Speaker 7: to enjoy the Eagles one. So that one is launching
- 58:38Speaker 7: on Wednesday. I think people are really gonna like that
- 58:40Speaker 7: one because it has it has a little Brady nod,
- 58:42Speaker 7: you know, like nothing crazy, nothing out there. But and
- 58:45Speaker 7: then I think people are really going to like our
- 58:49Speaker 7: throwback one, which is next week, So that one's really cool.
- 58:56Speaker 7: That one is one of my friends who's a tattoo
- 58:58Speaker 7: artist and she killed it. And then third one that
- 59:01Speaker 7: I think fans are really gonna like. It's really so hard.
- 59:07Speaker 11: I'll tell you mine, what's yours?
- 59:08Speaker 7: Yeah, tell me your top three?
- 59:09Speaker 11: My top three? Yeah, I like Week one.
- 59:12Speaker 7: Yeah, that's the Eagles.
- 59:13Speaker 11: That's the Eagles. I really like the Chargers.
- 59:15Speaker 7: One, So that one's really cool because we kind of
- 59:18Speaker 7: riff off of the Chargers a little bit. And they
- 59:20Speaker 7: are anime based posters because the Chargers always do anime
- 59:28Speaker 7: schedule release videos, so we want to riff off of them.
- 59:30Speaker 16: That is that is a fun one. And then I
- 59:32Speaker 16: also this is a sneaky sneak one. I haven't heard
- 59:34Speaker 16: much about it. I like the Saints one.
- 59:35Speaker 7: The Saints one is really cool.
- 59:37Speaker 16: I think the what they do with the black and
- 59:40Speaker 16: black and gold contrasting with the red and white the
- 59:42Speaker 16: Pats looks really cool. So but yeah, so anyways, this
- 59:47Speaker 16: is going live. By the time this show within the
- 59:50Speaker 16: show goes live, this Game Day poster series will be
- 59:54Speaker 16: live on Patriots dot com. You get there by going
- 59:56Speaker 16: to the homepage click fan Zone, and then there'll be

- 1:00:03Speaker 16: I said at the beginning of the show, the trivia
- 1:00:05Speaker 16: that we had which submit your answers to web radio
- 1:00:08Speaker 16: at Patriots dot com, because the first three people that
- 1:00:11Speaker 16: submit it and get it right are actually going to

- 1:00:17Speaker 16: Week one posters, which is as Karina said earlier one
- 1:00:20Speaker 16: of her favorites would. I mean, it's one of the
- 1:00:23Speaker 16: best ones.
- 1:00:24Speaker 7: I think it's a big game.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: It's a good one. You'll like it.
- 1:00:28Speaker 16: We're gonna be live on Patriotson Filtered, so I'm actually
- 1:00:30Speaker 16: gonna have Fred hold up the poster for the camera
- 1:00:34Speaker 16: and he will announce the winners on Patriots on Filtered.
- 1:00:37Speaker 16: So thank you Karina for joining the show. Within the show,
- 1:00:40Speaker 16: I'm sure.

- 1:00:41Speaker 7: I cannot wait.
- 1:00:42Speaker 11: I'll have you back, don't worry.

- 1:01:29Speaker 2: a guy with all this lacrosse gear and I'm like, hey,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: you know, how's it going, how's your practice going good?
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Where do you play? And he's like, I'm I just
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: graduated from Notre Dame. And I'm like oh okay, And
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: so we start talking about, you know, the championship and
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: oh yeah, Virginia one and so and so, and I go, yeah,
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Notre Dame had a shot. I didn't. I completely forgot.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: He just told me that he played for Notre ding.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: So I'm telling him about a shot like oh. Then
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: he walks away in like.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: Oh, that's awesome. That's and he's probably thinking the same
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: thing you should have told him to get a tellis.
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: This guy has you know, what is he talking about? Yeah,
- 1:02:08Speaker 6: that's funny. So he was just there like you're telling
- 1:02:10Speaker 6: him about how his team, how Notre Dame had a shot.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: You know, it's like, yeah, I was just told you.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I was told you I played for right.
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: I just didn't throw He didn't throw it, Like yeah,
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: I thought we did right.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Oh No, he just kept walking.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: The next thing you're gonna find out is like they
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: lost in the Elite eight and they lost because of
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: that guy.
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: Right, some idiots shot in his own net, Like, I
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: can't believe.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: That's another great moment from Hey Patriots.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Frans Bridge Done is the official tire of the New
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: England Patriots and proud partner with Sullivan Tire, New England's
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: headquarters for quality Bridge Don't Tires. Visit Sullivantire dot com
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: to find a location near you. So we've got winners,
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: uh for the Philadelphia Eagles game poet again, it's a
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: really cool prize.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: The winner of the first question, which was who is
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: the only quarterback to go three and ozero against Tom Brady?
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Jake Plumber is the answer and the winner is Cody
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: in Indiana.
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: I did, I did know that one, but I do
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: know them.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Cody in Indiana. The second question was question who did
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Rob Gronkowski score his first touchdown against?
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: I remember that one? Bengals the Bengals.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: That's sewn and Vancouver got that one right first. And
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: the final question was what quarterback did Ty log get
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: his first interception against?
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: Didn't know that you got that one.
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: I'm gonna.
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: Think think the team you play a lot problem.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: Jim Kelly.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Jim Kelly is the right answer, and the winner was
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Andrew from Bradford.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: Yeah, listen, I like to pride myself on my my
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: nerdness and be able to get those I would have
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: gone over three of us.
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I would have gotten Plumber. No, I got Gronk.
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: I remember that Gronk touchdown.
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: I don't even know you know how I like to
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: tell you the scores of games twenty ten season opener
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: was were white?
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: They were white? Yeah? Here, Yeah, couldn't tell you the
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: score they were on the cover s I after.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: That, couldn't tell you the score of that game?
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: Like so much fun or something? I think was the Tata.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: Did they kill him?
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: I think they beat him pretty bad.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Audrey says, please bring back Holy Canoli. The show break
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: thing is a painful listen. And why doesn't Deuce get
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: ever get lunch a permanent diet? Midlife fun is fun,
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: you know, keep going strong, my favorite show. This could
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: be an interesting year. I mean, we just gave away
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: limited edition posters and this guy's complaining, madd he didn't win.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: It's just madd he didn't win. Okay, that makes sense.
- 1:04:47Speaker 14: The guy named Audrey also, yes, I am just very confused.
- 1:04:51Speaker 14: How some people really thought I naturally said holy Connoli,
- 1:04:54Speaker 14: like on a daily basis, holy commercial.
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: I don't think anybody actually thought that.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: Somebody did.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: I won't name any names I know, but you do
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: say g's Louise. I've heard you say that. I'm only.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Now now if it was Oh my god, I say that.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Oh my god, I say that. Everybody says that.
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: But I think is a sound clip, isn't it?
- 1:05:16Speaker 11: No?
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: Wh oh my god?
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: So all right, good stuff. We gave away some good
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: posters and graduate gratulations on people and by just to
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: remind people there's going to be a new poster with
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: a new artist for every game.
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: Will we give away other games too?
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Yeah, we probably will.
- 1:05:36Speaker 11: It's supposed to give away will be next Wenesday.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Yeah, And if you want, if if you want to
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: buy this week's poster, you can go on Patriot dot
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: com right now and you can purchase this poster. Knowing
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: that every game is going to be a unique poster.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: You can have a collection. I mean, we're we're we're
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: gonna frame these and put them up in our office
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: for sure, you because they're that good.
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: I mean I probably won't kill them, but I look
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: forward to seeing them up around the office.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and the beauty that is each one is so different,
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: you know, they're notists, different artists, different style.
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: Where did we get the artists from?
- 1:06:06Speaker 9: Was this?
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: We did a survey, we you know, a call for
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: action and you know, to local artists and we had
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: I don't know, a couple hundred artists reply and then
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: of those we picked uh, you know, nine or eight
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: and then a ninth from Germany. So for the Germany game,
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: we'll have German artists do it. That's cool. Yeah, it's
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: gonna be really cool, excited.
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: Art and sports.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Ye love it. All right, So Tamara's here, I'm here.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: What's up?
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: Just cranking out some content break?
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Uh you were at the early press conferences? Anything good?
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: No?
- 1:06:44Speaker 14: Not out of the fact that Hunter Henry has a
- 1:06:46Speaker 14: new baby and telling us the origin of her name.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Okay, so no, no, do guys? What was the mood
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: of the guys that.
- 1:06:54Speaker 14: You know, very cheaper, you know, obviously understanding that they
- 1:06:59Speaker 14: have a tough task ahead, as Hunter Henry you know,
- 1:07:01Speaker 14: phrased it, but it seems very chipper excited for week one.
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: Henry looks good, he looks in shape, you know, I
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: think he's ready for for a good year. I think
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: he's gonna have a little bit of resurgence. I didn't
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: I didn't see vermondre though.
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: How was was he his usual very business, very quiet?
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a quiet guy. Yeah. And then we'll have
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: open locker room today at.
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: Five Damn and Mac and a couple other guys forget.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Yeah, some of the they'll come to the podium.
- 1:07:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, So big day here Wednesday. Wednesday's the day.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Get your assignments.
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: It all starts today.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Do your job day, get going, all right. Web radio
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: at patres dot com is the email address. We have
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: a lot of emails coming in. Let's see, boy and
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: I don't know which one to go with first. Chris
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: Uh with a T I An says, nice to see
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Fred wearing a shirt that fits today. Wow, that was mean.
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: It's not necessary.
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: Didn't just to say that? Come on?
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: No, The thing about the Patriots unfiltered shirts, they're they're
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: good shirts, but they shrank a little in the wash.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: So I'm going to reorder. I'm gonna have a different manufacturer.
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: I think those are Guilden's. Maybe we get maybe get
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: some hoodies, you.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Know, crew necks, the best crew neck sweatshirts. Yeah, cut
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: the sleeves off.
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: Maybe maybe not. I don't know.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Silbert in New York says, I hope everyone's well. One statement,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: one question? Why does everyone think Mac had a great
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: rookie year? Since the Colts game, he has been terrible.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: I don't think he's the guy, but we're stuck with him.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Well that was I mean, that's the thing I said yesterday,
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: is that a lot of people say, well, if he
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: can be as good as he was his rookie year, No,
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: he's got to be significantly better than that because he
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: faded toward the end.
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: Did I mean I think he was good? I don't.
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: I mean, you know, rookie quarterback, first round pick expectations.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: And it was severely managed that year.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: I don't know. Hard to ask for more than he
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: gave you. I mean I don't think, but I don't
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: think great or you know that that.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: All, he had a fine rookie year, but it ain't
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: good enough. You know.
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: Now he's got to get back to his strengths. And
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: you know, I think he hired Bill O'Brien. I mean,
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: this is a guy who knows what he does and
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: seems to, you know, have a connection with him in
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: terms of what his strengths are. So I think that's
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: what we're all kind of waiting to see because you
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: didn't see a big example size this summer at all,
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: like we talked about plenty, but you do think the
- 1:09:23Speaker 6: elements are there. There's enough different twists that you know,
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: this is one of those weak ones where you don't
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: really I think you always don't know what you're going
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: to get. But I think, especially this week, it's like,
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: how does this offense all come together finally? And you know,
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: do they We know what it looked like last year,
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: and I think it's going to probably be a pretty
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: stark difference even if they don't, you know, pull the
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: game out and score thirty points.
- 1:09:41Speaker 14: I think I think people think he had a great
- 1:09:43Speaker 14: year because comparatively speaking to some people, some people's rookie seasons,
- 1:09:47Speaker 14: they did not have a great year, Like Trevor Lawrence
- 1:09:49Speaker 14: obviously super great in college, but yeah, really rough start
- 1:09:53Speaker 14: in the NFL, Daniel Jones, same thing like that.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: I think he had the best numbers of that rookie
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: class for sure.
- 1:09:58Speaker 14: Yeah, So I think that's why he was so great
- 1:10:01Speaker 14: right here.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: This week is Brady Week was there a reason why
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: this game was picked for his celebration. I believe it
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: should have been Week two against Miami. What game, if
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: you had to pick, would be better suited for the
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Brady return celebration? H I don't know. You kind of
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: want to get that out of the way, you know,
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: you don't want I mean, there's gonna be more' you know,
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: I don't think I'm letting the cat out of the
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: bag that this this isn't gonna be He deserves a
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: lot more than a halftime celebration, you know, so there'll
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: be more.
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: Like would they prefer you pick an opponent that he
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: really played a lot of games?
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: I think you got to do it right away. You
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: don't want to be like in Week four and this
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: thing's going on and now it's Brady week.
- 1:10:46Speaker 14: You know, I think they prefer an opponent that you
- 1:10:49Speaker 14: have a better chance to win against. But also you
- 1:10:52Speaker 14: can't when you're making the decision on this, it's like
- 1:10:54Speaker 14: you can't predict who's.
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: Going to be good and who's going to be bad.
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: You never know, right, Plus the first game he's officially retired, right,
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: so right, you know you tind to get right to it.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Yep, Jake and Wisconsin. I'm a math teacher and figured
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: i'd give you guys a pop quiz. I didn't know
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: it would be in math.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: Didn't school just start. It's a little bit early for quiz.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: But he says, I don't know the answers either. What's
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: more likely this week against the Eagles, two Patriots pass
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: catchers combine for over two hundred yards or three Patriots
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: rushing touchdowns?
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: Three Patriots rushing touchdowns? Okay, yeah, it was my understanding
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: that there would be no math. This is my kind
- 1:11:31Speaker 6: of math, though.
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: Paul I would agree with Mike.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Patriots forced two turnovers or Patriots turned the
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: ball over two times.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: I'm going to go with force two turnovers.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: I was going to be a negative Nancy and Pick.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: Hurts runs for one hundred plus yards or Stevenson runs
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: for one hundred plus yards. Yeah, more likely. I don't
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: think either one, but more likely and Booty gets on
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: the field or Douglas has three plus catches. Douglas, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: I agree. Let's see Marcus from Orlando. I've been enjoying
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: the show ever since I started using Spotify. My question
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: for you guys is this, if the wide receiver group
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: gets off to a rough start or becomes riddled with injuries.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: What are the chances we trade for a veteran like
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Tyler Lockett, Michael Thomas, or Chris Godwin. I don't know why.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: If we're going to do a trade, why stop there?
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, maybe Chris Godwin would be available.
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: Why would Tyler Lockett be available? Isn't Seattle considered to
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: be in the thick of the NFC playoff race?
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know a lot about him.
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: Mike Thomas different, Jackson Smith and Jigba.
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: Maybe I don't know.
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: No, I get that he's a little, you know, on
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: the older side, but like Seattle has aspirations.
- 1:12:52Speaker 6: Yeah right, No, I mean I think now we're we're
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: going to be in for another seven months of Mike
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: Evans to the Patriots trade talks.
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: Well, it won't be seven months. It'll be till three months,
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: three months, ok No, until the trade deadline and then okay, yeah.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Vaughn writes in, don't necessarily have a question, but I
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: wanted to rant a little, Okay, it's very frustrating to
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: see the news on juju. Rather it's whether it's true
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: or not. This is why I was banging the table
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: for d Hop. You couldn't have offered him a couple
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: more mill to beat out the Titans, but you could
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: go and find a retread on someone like Jalen Rager,
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: who have been on multiple teams in a short amount
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: of time. But that wasn't totally totally different. I'm trying
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: to be optimistic about the season, but it makes me
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: angry knowing that this team we're rolling out for the
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: twenty three, this is the team we're rolling out. Not
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: a lot of talent is one thing, but also having
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: one of the hardest schedules is another thing. Gear up going,
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: it's going to be a long one ahead.
- 1:13:51Speaker 6: All right, Well, I mean, don't go so they jump
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: off the bridge about Juju just yet? I mean, like again,
- 1:13:55Speaker 6: this has to keep getting brought up, like the story
- 1:13:58Speaker 6: from two weeks ago. But let's let's seem on the field.
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: I mean, people can report what they want and maybe
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: it's true, but I just I want to see him
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: on the field and then make a judgment on him.
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: And it's been hard to reserve judgment because there hasn't
- 1:14:10Speaker 6: been a lot of great stuff yet. But let's let's
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: just wait a few days and then we'll see how
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: it's kind of how he looks some of game field
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: pat Nagoam.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: One of the sneaky things that worries me when the
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: Eagles are on offense is the fact that they were
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: one of the top rushing teams in the league last year.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: What do you all think the odds are that the
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Eagles try and shorten the game by dominating the line
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: of scrimmage and trying to control the game on the
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: ground as opposed to airing it out.
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: I don't think they care about shorten the game. I
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: think they're just going to do what they do.
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: And I mean, but I do agree running the ball
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: and that might shorten the game or whatever. But I
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: agree with Mike. I don't think it's not a goal
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: of we got they want to score points, yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: But I mean I think a lot of them depend
- 1:14:49Speaker 6: on how the Patriots play them. You know, if the
- 1:14:51Speaker 6: Patriots are going really light and trying to like, you know,
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: do my thing, trying to get upfield, it's bar more
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: in a quality, a lot more on the inside then,
- 1:15:00Speaker 6: you know, and then I could see them maybe saying, hey,
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: we can we should try to run on these guys
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: because we get them, you know, we'll catch some gaps
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: when they're trying to get up field.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Bill mentioned it and Paul mentioned it
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: yesterday about the coordinators. It's new coordinators. Yeah, you know, now,
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: Sirianni said, we're gonna just it's not gonna be a
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: lot of change. But then why did you know, like
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: it's got to be a little bit at chance.
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: And that's what Bill said today. Bill, they asked Bill
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: about that, and he said, you know, it's it's the
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: same systems, but you know, there's new coordinators, so there'll
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: be new little twists that we'll have to kind of
- 1:15:27Speaker 6: be ready for that that each guy will probably bring
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: to me.
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: It's similar to the Patriots. With Bill O'Brien, it's gonna
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: be pretty much the same as Josh, but similar, not
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: exactly the same. Will do things that he likes that
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: Josh didn't.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's like tendencies. It's like you know when
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: in certain situations, you know, different coordinators have different tendencies,
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: And those are the things you don't really know. But
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: I mean it's i mean, as Bill ran down, it's
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: just you know, this is so many unknown. It's week one,
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: you have no real film. I mean, he pointed out
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: though Eagles didn't play a lot of their starters in
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: the preseason, neither the Patriots really, So you know, it's
- 1:16:04Speaker 6: just two teams that are that are both well coached,
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: kind of coming into this blind.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Let's see. Ben writs in I'm trying to get excited
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: for the season, particularly on offense. I know our defense
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: is great, but what are you guys most excited for
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: on the offensive side of the ball. Do you think
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: any one player will pop this season? Will we finally
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: see a thousand yard receiver or no? Chance?
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: I think changes. I don't think it's I mean, I mean,
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: I think seventeen games is a chance.
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: Kendrick Born maybe you know that that maybe he's kind
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: of the buzz guy right now. I'm just excited to
- 1:16:36Speaker 6: see the new pieces. You know, how do they use Gasiki?
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: Does he you know fit in?
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:16:39Speaker 6: Here is he?
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: Are they able to do something special with him and
- 1:16:43Speaker 6: Hunter Henry together and and Ezekiel Elliott?
- 1:16:45Speaker 8: What?
- 1:16:45Speaker 6: How how much uses does he get? Those?
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Are?
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: You know immediately the things that that I want to see?
- 1:16:49Speaker 6: And Juju two?
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Yeah, who do you think who do you think might
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: pop this year?
- 1:16:54Speaker 14: I think Kendrick Bourne. He's trending in that direction and
- 1:16:57Speaker 14: I would hope to see him continue to go that way.
- 1:16:59Speaker 14: It would be really under I guess, like underwhelming to
- 1:17:02Speaker 14: see like what we saw in preseason not translate over.
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: Obviously, you see that happen all the time. And God's
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: like JJ Taylor.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Just like visible, Yeah, like what happened to Who will
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: be the guy like Myers who he seems to come
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: through on third down? He seems Yeah.
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: I still think Hunter Henry's and maybe that's more of
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: a red zone thing, but I just I think we're
- 1:17:20Speaker 6: going to get back to gotta have it moments, Hunter
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: Henry coming through.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: Stevenson's the only guy that I could think of that
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: would pop on offense. I think he's their best offensive player.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: Christian says, I've been hearing over the past few days
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: that narrative that the Eagles offense and defensive teams have
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: not played any starters in the preseason, so they might
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: be rusty. Some are even saying we could possibly steal
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Week one because of this. What are your thoughts? As
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: much as I would love to be optimistic about that,
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: take my main concern is for the Patriots offensive line.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: I don't think even if the Eagles are rusty, we
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: can score enough offensive points to keep up with them.
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: Everybody's rusty, you know. We got a bunch of rusty.
- 1:17:58Speaker 6: We got a bunch of rusty guys who are gonna
- 1:17:59Speaker 6: play played it much.
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: Either, you just mentioned it. I mean, if that was
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: going to be a factor, I'd feel better about it
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: if the Patriot starters had played in the preseason, but
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: they played three series on offense.
- 1:18:08Speaker 6: Their offensive line together for the first time, whatever that
- 1:18:11Speaker 6: configuration might be. I mean, they've got just as many
- 1:18:14Speaker 6: I mean questions like that that the Eagles do.
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: I don't think there's a starter on offense that played
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: I mean maybe twenty snaps. I would say nine or
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: ten or starters on offense have not played more than
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: fifteen snaps yep.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: You know, Is.
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: That that big of a deal that it's zero compared
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: to fifteen? Yeah, barely anything, right, And and some of
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: those guys, you know, in the cases of when you
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: Calvin Anderson Cole Strange, the number is zero, yep, right,
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: And I think all three of those guys could start
- 1:18:47Speaker 5: right on Sunday, right.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: Into it Travis in West Virginia. The Brady segment you
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: played during your lunch break yesterday was very confusing. The
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: audio clips didn't match up with the narration. I don't
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: know what he that wasn't listening. Also, I'd like to
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: call you out for the excessive use of the term
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: mush rush.
- 1:19:03Speaker 6: Okay, I hate it right.
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: You don't hear me using those terms.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Mushrush, mush rush okay, Anthony and Seattle. I appreciate the
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: shout out from Andre New Jersey yesterday agreeing with the
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: twelve and five season, but you lost me with the
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: divisional round. Exit. Twelve and five means we have a
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: good team and a chance to go toe to toe
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: with anybody. Let's finish the job. When I said we're
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: winning the whole thing, I meant it. If you're gonna
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: get on this train, then get on and say it
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: with your chest. We're winning it all Okay, all right,
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: like the confidence. Okay, um, let's see eighty five five.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: Nobody's calling eight five five, pats five hundred.
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: It's the first Wednesday show.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: I would imagine everybody would be calling.
- 1:19:50Speaker 6: I think we should.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: I think they're all just coming down off the show
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: within the show.
- 1:19:57Speaker 6: It's a throw.
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: We've lost our audience due to the show in the show.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Let's see Jason Rocky Hill. A lot of emails though, Yeah,
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: a lot of Jason and Rocky Hill Connecticut. Last week,
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Paul and Fred reprised their debate about listening to fans
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: versus listening to the paid media. I absolutely stand behind
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: Paul's perspective and virtually any aspect of life, the advice
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: of an experienced professional is more valuable in better research
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: than that of someone who is untrained or a hobbyist.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: We're talking about sports, but anyway, my only question is this, Paul,
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: you routinely malign your colleagues in the media for their
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: bad takest reactions or carrying the water for coaches or players.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: These the experts that were supposed to listen to or
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: do you have others that you recommend instead?
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: Did I tell you that there was a butt com Yeah,
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: in all walks of life, and I like the way
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: he phrased that. I would say that when you watch
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: people and you listen to people, there's some that you
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: tend to say. Okay, I've seen Mike so and Tamara
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: Brown talk about this before. And that turned out to
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: be accurate. So I would say, yeah, the guys that
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: I tend to listen to a little bit more often
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: are guys like Phil Perry and Mike Reese because I
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: think they tend to be more accurate over time. Now,
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: no one's no one's perfect, no one's right. And I'll
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: tell you Tom Currents now the guy, and Tom Current's
- 1:21:22Speaker 5: higher on the team, Well he was. He seems like
- 1:21:24Speaker 5: I've come off of that a little bit, but he
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: was higher on the team than others. And I can
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: tell you Mike Reese is always higher on the team
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: than others, So like, I respect their opinions. Those guys, Now,
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: he's right. There's a lot of guys around here that,
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: honestly I don't And I would put Chris Mason in
- 1:21:43Speaker 5: the category of a guy who I'm starting to follow
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: a little bit more this year and I've been impressed.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: So maybe he's mass alive.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe he gets in that in my circle. Now,
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: the best, the best reporter, the actual actual reporter, is
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: Karen Grigian around here for the for the Patriots. I mean,
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: she's excellent, yeah, and has been for a long time.
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: So it's not everybody I I, I definitely have the
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: snark meter high when I'm talking about my colleagues a lot.
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: But it's not everybody. It's not across the board.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: Uh, Claire, hello, Marie, Hello everyone. Now we're so close
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: to the regular season, we can smell it. What do
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: you think was the biggest overreaction of the preseason?
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: The Bailey and Mac quarterback competition?
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: Okay, that could be one, although I don't really I
- 1:22:37Speaker 6: don't know.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: I just don't know why. The head coach not telling
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: you that there's a starting quarterback is not a story.
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: I just I will never forget. I will never get that.
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: I will be in my I'll be on my island
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: by myself.
- 1:22:49Speaker 6: But might that be more in the like Mac and
- 1:22:51Speaker 6: Bill thing than the Mack and Zappy.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: I think it was a Bill, Bill and Mac thing.
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: That's why I think it was a story.
- 1:22:56Speaker 6: I got you, I got you. I'm just trying to
- 1:22:59Speaker 6: think what we kind of like hyped up a little
- 1:23:02Speaker 6: bit that I don't.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: Know, Pop Douglas, I hope it turns out to be warranted.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: You know, Malie Cunningham, Okay, that's a good one.
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: That one was. You know, we were all kind of
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: he had. I mean, he probably had engineered the best
- 1:23:17Speaker 6: drive of the preseason, not you know, for what saying
- 1:23:19Speaker 6: what it is. It is what it is, but I
- 1:23:21Speaker 6: mean that is true. But I think everybody lost their
- 1:23:23Speaker 6: mind when after that and you know, thought that there
- 1:23:25Speaker 6: was going to be all kinds of packages for him.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: I think that's a yeah, Donovan writes in Looking at
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: the Eagles game from an optimistic perspective, Gonzales can shut
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: down Brown with help over the top, while our faster
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: cornerbacks covered Davante, our improved defensive line and athletic hybrid
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: linebacker safety group will contain the quarterback. Mack will be
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: able to work the defensive backs and find his third
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: or fourth option consistently. The old line will vastly outperform
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: the negative outlook with healthy starters in the game, and
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Zeken Mare will combine for one hundred and fifty yards
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: and two touchdowns. So that would be it would be nice.
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: Big Yeah, those are big things. I mean, I think,
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: you know, Macatt finding his third and fourth option. You're
- 1:24:11Speaker 6: gonna need that offensive fly to play well. He's gonna
- 1:24:13Speaker 6: get to those third and fourth options. So it's all
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: it's all connected.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: Uh spiing Fresno. I'm among the unwashed masses who fail
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: to meet Pu's hopeful fan threshold, meaning I will root
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: for them on every down, but I don't expect many
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: above average outcomes. That said, I'm a big Deuce fan
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: and he's kind of a sad lump these days, so
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: I want to elevate his spirits with a little more
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: likely game intended to exercise the optimism muscles. All right,
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: let's do it for each pair of positives, which is
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: more likely Christian Gonzalez looks truly comfortable in zone coverage
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: by week four, or josh Usha keeps pace with Judon's
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: season sack total.
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: Ouch, Yeah, I agree.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: Marty already mop Who's side by side dynamism at linebacker
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: is a perfect compliment to Juwan Bentley's thumping presence in
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: the middle. Or the tandem of Christian Barmore and key
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: On White strikes fear in the heart of the enemy.
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: Who I'm gonna vote with my heart on that one
- 1:25:16Speaker 6: and say two, I'm gonna say one. I just don't
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: think they're gonna pull the trigger on Maphu at minebacker.
- 1:25:23Speaker 6: I really, I mean as much as I am for it.
- 1:25:24Speaker 6: I just I'm really skeptical that they're gonna throw him
- 1:25:27Speaker 6: out there as a linebacker here in three days.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: Uh Ramandre Stevenson rushes for thirteen hundred plus yards or
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: Kendrick Bourne has one thousand plus receiving yards.
- 1:25:37Speaker 6: I'm gonna go Remandre just because we've seen it thirteen
- 1:25:40Speaker 6: hundred yard. I mean, we've seen him be good like that.
- 1:25:43Speaker 6: I don't know. I am brooting for Kendrick Bourne. I think
- 1:25:46Speaker 6: get a great camp, but I think it's a little
- 1:25:47Speaker 6: bit of a leap to think he's gonna jump the seventh.
- 1:25:49Speaker 6: That seems more of a leap to me.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: Right now, you're not answering any of these Paul, I thought.
- 1:25:54Speaker 5: This wasping Mike. He was trying to her.
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: Yeah, he was workshopping, trying to bring out my Hey,
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: we're gonna go to the super Bowl.
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: You guys complain when I talked too much? You complain.
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: We end the year feeling that MATC. Jones confidently bridled
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: and rode the wild horses on his offensive line, or
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: Jalen Mills makes us forget that Devin mccordy retired.
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: Oh wow, I didn't even hear the first one, and
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: I'm gonna go one.
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: Yeah, right, And finally, with Aaron Rodgers nowhere to be found,
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: a strip sack of Zach Wilson in Week eighteen by
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: Anthony Jennings sends a surging ten and seven Patriots team
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: to the postseason. Or Marcus Jones ends the year with
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: at least one touchdown in all three phases.
- 1:26:35Speaker 6: Oh that's a tough one h two.
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: What's more likely? I'm not predicting injuries now, I am right.
- 1:26:44Speaker 6: We had it last year with Marcus Jones.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: You're gonna be watching the Bills and Jets Monday night.
- 1:26:49Speaker 14: You're not predicting an injury to Annon Rodgers. You're you're
- 1:26:52Speaker 14: predicting like them to like plummet.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: Well, that's the difference, and it could be.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: And it could and it could be because of just
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: him being ahead.
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: If he's not playing then he got injured.
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: You don't think they would bench him for being a
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: head case.
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: No, No, there's a zero percent chance of him getting
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: benched for play. He could get hurt and it could
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: not work, but they're not going to bench him. If
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: he's healthy. You know, it could be a one and
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: done kind of deal, but they're not going to bench him.
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: Now here's the other thing. Maybe it could be one
- 1:27:23Speaker 5: because maybe the Jets didn't play Aaron Rodgers in the
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: week eighteen. I did not take this into consideration because
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: because they had the division wrapped up and they rested
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:27:36Speaker 6: And let the Patriots into the playoffs, and.
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: That's how the Patriots, you know, got the strip sack
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: of Zach Wilson. So I'm going to change that. Let's
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: say one, because what are the odds that are Marcus
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: Jones is going to do that two years in a
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: row when it really is was it like Dion the
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: only guy that's ever done that? No, no one's ever
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: I forget, I forget the having and.
- 1:27:54Speaker 6: There's been in the same offensively.
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: So I'm going to change that. They're gonna change that
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: and go to the Jets.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: One.
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: Okay, based on the Jets, Based on the Jets resting
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: H Dylan from Tampa Bay, Fred, who should we be
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: rooting for on Monday Night? Bills? Are Jets? I know
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: who I'll be rooting for.
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: You'll be rooting for the Bills.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: I guess that's correct.
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: I think I am too. Unfortunately, I think I'm going
- 1:28:19Speaker 6: to root you can get smarter to roof of the Jets, though.
- 1:28:22Speaker 6: You know, I'm gonna start for chaos like you want
- 1:28:24Speaker 6: AFC East chaos.
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: I'm going to root for the Jets too, because I
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: think Buffalo is the best team, and I'm going to
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: look at it week one, you know, sight unseen. I'm
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: gonna say I my goal is to win the AFC East.
- 1:28:35Speaker 5: I think Buffalo is the best team in the AFC East.
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: I want them to lose. I think that's a good
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: thing to root for. Just week to week is just
- 1:28:40Speaker 6: AFC East teams, no rhyme or reason. Who's beaten you?
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: Miami's upsetting people. You know, it's a tough one on
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: week at all. Yeah, keep it all in the middle,
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: you know.
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: Because you could ask me that same question if those
- 1:28:49Speaker 5: two teams were playing in Week nine, and I might
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: have a different answer.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: Oh, I would just love if the Bills win, they
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: hold the Jets to like ten points and just listen
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: to New York just implode.
- 1:29:00Speaker 6: It's tough. It's a tough schedule for the Jets too.
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: I mean there's just you know, they're they're right right
- 1:29:04Speaker 6: now to shoe as we are you know.
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: Call me crazy, but I have the Patriots beating the
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: Eagles twenty seven to twenty four with a Ryland fifty
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: plus yard field goal to win in his NFL debut,
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: cementing his legacy as the next great Patriots kicker. Chess checkers.
- 1:29:20Speaker 6: That's funny, you know what I was I was doing.
- 1:29:22Speaker 6: I was doing my ten things right up, and I
- 1:29:24Speaker 6: was just remembering how Gostowski didn't really face first year,
- 1:29:29Speaker 6: but didn't really face a pressure kick, didn't you like
- 1:29:31Speaker 6: until San Diego. I think that was the one in
- 1:29:33Speaker 6: the playoffs where he finally had to like make one
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: that they they won after the big play to down
- 1:29:38Speaker 6: the sideline. I mean, but not a lot of It
- 1:29:40Speaker 6: was a fourth quarter kick, so not like last minute.
- 1:29:43Speaker 5: And they weren't losing, and it wasn't like, I mean,
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: what was it. I thought it was kind of wasn't
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: it like forty yards?
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:29:50Speaker 6: I mean, it wasn't anything crazy, But I felt like
- 1:29:53Speaker 6: that was the only time in his whole rookie year
- 1:29:54Speaker 6: that he really, you know, had a kick he had
- 1:29:56Speaker 6: to make.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: Jets rights in. I just started my fall semester of
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: my senior year, and I'm due to graduate in the
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: fall with my bachelor's degree. Congratulations, these Wednesday shows are
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: going to get me through my twelve to three point
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: thirty break between my first and last class of the day.
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: That being said, these shows couldn't have come back at
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: a better time.
- 1:30:16Speaker 6: That's hey, there we go, but we just aimed to please.
- 1:30:20Speaker 6: Good luck with your senior year two.
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: L from Wisconsin. The episodes of a show within a
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: show have been getting better.
- 1:30:27Speaker 5: Oh nice.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: After the first episode, I was reminded of the daily
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: VT for men reviews that Fred insisted on. But thankfully
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: the last episode surpassed that mark. Do you remember that?
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: Oh you don't know? It was V So VT is
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: a hair remover. Yeah yeah, okay, that is not meant
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: to be used in the nether region, but people did,
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: and there's reviews on Amazon of people that did it,
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: and so it kind of took on a life of
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: its own, and people started writing fake reviews for VT,
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: you know that where they used it, you know, mistakenly,
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: and especially in like the UK. And so they were
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: so good that I would read a review every show
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: of the VAT. Yeah, first google VAT reviews and and
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: they're hilarious, they're they're they're.
- 1:31:14Speaker 6: Really it's different than their near same kind.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: Of it's the same kind of thing, but this one
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: like what burn the hell out of it?
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: Across the seas?
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: Yeah, across the.
- 1:31:22Speaker 6: Pond, but it would only burn if you used it
- 1:31:24Speaker 6: in your in.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: Your Yeah, sensitive areas, sensitive areas.
- 1:31:29Speaker 6: I mean we've gone though, Like like, manscaping is like
- 1:31:31Speaker 6: a full on industry now though there's full kinds of
- 1:31:34Speaker 6: products designed for you know everything.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: Like I go away for ten minutes and they start talking.
- 1:31:38Speaker 5: They're not talking about football. Why are they not talking
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: about idiots? It's all about the excess and notes? Why
- 1:31:45Speaker 5: are they not talking schemes?
- 1:31:46Speaker 9: I mean, you guys can talk about whatever you want,
- 1:31:49Speaker 9: but manscaping is an interesting conversation to walk back into.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, every man should scape keep it clean.
- 1:31:55Speaker 9: Sure, yeah, I'm gonna keep my thought.
- 1:31:57Speaker 6: Like, why isn't there like a manscaping place. It's like
- 1:32:00Speaker 6: girls have like pedicure places they can go for a man,
- 1:32:05Speaker 6: We're gonna you're gonna go in there and clean you up.
- 1:32:07Speaker 6: You're gonna you're not gonna walk out there with any here.
- 1:32:08Speaker 6: You get waxed, Yeah, wax everywhere, just like a general
- 1:32:12Speaker 6: manscaping place conversation right now another one of my Well guys,
- 1:32:15Speaker 6: do there some you know, little pampering too, like girls
- 1:32:18Speaker 6: got waxing places and you know all that stuff.
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: We need to be taken care of too. That's right,
- 1:32:23Speaker 5: I don't it is what it is?
- 1:32:29Speaker 9: Uh?
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: What's going on? Hello?
- 1:32:31Speaker 6: What happened?
- 1:32:32Speaker 9: I'm waiting for the jingle's on the phone? No, well,
- 1:32:38Speaker 9: I'll just jump the gun. Then the Patriots had perfect
- 1:32:42Speaker 9: attendance at practice today, Okay, so nobody absent.
- 1:32:46Speaker 14: Uh.
- 1:32:47Speaker 9: I will say though that the observations from those in
- 1:32:52Speaker 9: the in the media contingent where that DeVante Parker was
- 1:32:56Speaker 9: watching most of the time that we were out there
- 1:32:59Speaker 9: and seemed prett limited from the very limited time that
- 1:33:02Speaker 9: we had. But we did get a period today. So
- 1:33:05Speaker 9: we're out there for about ten minutes and he did
- 1:33:08Speaker 9: a whole lot of nothing.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: Okay, so well.
- 1:33:10Speaker 9: See what's up with him? But other than that, you know,
- 1:33:13Speaker 9: first official injury part of the day of the year,
- 1:33:16Speaker 9: I should say, today, So we'll find out some some
- 1:33:19Speaker 9: what's going on with Parker and you know who's dealing
- 1:33:23Speaker 9: with what later today.
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: So let's say he's not active on gamed what are
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: we looking at we're looking at.
- 1:33:29Speaker 6: I think it's I think it's a blow, you know.
- 1:33:32Speaker 6: I just I don't know who's going to be really
- 1:33:33Speaker 6: on the outside and have any kind of presence out there.
- 1:33:35Speaker 6: I just don't think they have. I mean, you could
- 1:33:37Speaker 6: have put Thornton out there, and he has some speed, but.
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: Jalen Rager yeah, oh god, yeah, really yeah.
- 1:33:43Speaker 9: I think Jalen Rager gets the promotion.
- 1:33:46Speaker 6: Wow, that would be that will be something. But I
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: you know, I made the joke about that's one of
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: their plays they got and you know, they don't have
- 1:33:54Speaker 6: a ton that you've seen that they can really go to,
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: but the contested catches and throwing it up the Parker
- 1:33:59Speaker 6: is one of the things they like. And that's going
- 1:34:00Speaker 6: to be out of the out of the book this weekend.
- 1:34:02Speaker 14: So I also just think that this is one of
- 1:34:05Speaker 14: the problems with Parker. His availability. It's just like a
- 1:34:07Speaker 14: roller coaster, just like time.
- 1:34:08Speaker 6: Montgomery, which like I've been waiting for Paul to jump
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: on this. I'm like just sitting here the.
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: Day that they signed them said he's gone.
- 1:34:16Speaker 14: It's like the best ability is availability, and he's never available.
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: I know, it's so spotty.
- 1:34:22Speaker 9: And last year he had to do half the time.
- 1:34:24Speaker 9: He had that badcussion in Arizona which knocked him out.
- 1:34:27Speaker 9: But a lot of the time it's soft tissue stuff
- 1:34:29Speaker 9: with him. It's groins and ham strings and things like that.
- 1:34:32Speaker 9: And he had mentioned last year that he tried to
- 1:34:34Speaker 9: do some more running in the off season to to
- 1:34:37Speaker 9: be more prepared for those types of things or avoid
- 1:34:40Speaker 9: those types of things. I guess should say, but it
- 1:34:42Speaker 9: was a concussion I think mainly last year that teld
- 1:34:45Speaker 9: him out of game. It's not anything to do with.
- 1:34:47Speaker 6: Which like it happens and shoulder problem play, When did
- 1:34:50Speaker 6: this happen?
- 1:34:51Speaker 5: Like which one this is right now?
- 1:34:55Speaker 6: I don't know, just one of those random injury surprises where.
- 1:34:58Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, he didn't play in Tennessee, so obviously
- 1:35:00Speaker 9: had to have happened in a practice at some point.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: So something we haven't talked about.
- 1:35:06Speaker 14: Though.
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: David reminds me. He says, the weather's going to suck.
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: What kind of short run plays where the Patriots run
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: can end around work and poor footing. Any rheumatism remedies
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: for Schuster and Will Douglas are born even play it's
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: gonna suck.
- 1:35:20Speaker 9: I don't think it's going to be chance of rain.
- 1:35:23Speaker 9: We're not talking about so I don't know you've seen here.
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: Well, if it does rain, it could be bad.
- 1:35:29Speaker 5: But on the turf, it's not really a bad footing
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: situation unless it's like Mike said, yeah, you know, you
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: get the standing water on the field, it's not good.
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: I mean, there could be lightning. It's like, you know,
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: because it's sorry.
- 1:35:42Speaker 11: Burning Man was like, what, it's really hot here now,
- 1:35:45Speaker 11: It is very hot.
- 1:35:46Speaker 9: That was definitely part of the grousing, and.
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: I like he's answering the parts of the questions before
- 1:35:52Speaker 5: they even Yeah, that was part of the grouse.
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: You know how like when the humidity and heat breaks,
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: there's lightning.
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: Did you did you find out what the mood was
- 1:36:01Speaker 6: in practice?
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: Well, what was the mood?
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: Sweaty, sweaty, hot, hot hot, hot hot.
- 1:36:06Speaker 14: I did not go out to practice today. I was like,
- 1:36:08Speaker 14: I just did my makeup. I'm not outside.
- 1:36:12Speaker 9: In Philadelphia.
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: They had to.
- 1:36:14Speaker 9: They have a heat wave going on in Philly right now,
- 1:36:16Speaker 9: and they actually move practice, so they move practice from
- 1:36:19Speaker 9: the afternoon to the morning because of the heat in Philly.
- 1:36:22Speaker 9: So maybe we're getting a little bit of that.
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: I thought you were going to say they move practice
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: from Philly to Delaware.
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a short drive. Actually, yeah's a very short drive.
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: I have done it too.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: Yeah, full pads?
- 1:36:33Speaker 9: No, no, no.
- 1:36:35Speaker 5: Are you upset at that?
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: Snapped at him.
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, will they be in pads this week?
- 1:36:41Speaker 9: They were in They were had shells on like they
- 1:36:44Speaker 9: were in upper I didn't. I don't think the quarterbacks
- 1:36:47Speaker 9: were in in like the skill guys and stuff like
- 1:36:49Speaker 9: that had any like padding on. But these practices are
- 1:36:53Speaker 9: always tough with that because a you have like ten
- 1:36:56Speaker 9: minutes to take attendance and like see everything. So sometimes
- 1:36:58Speaker 9: I forget to take note of that. And also I
- 1:37:01Speaker 9: some players are better, like in the trenches might be
- 1:37:04Speaker 9: wearing pads, but the guys the wide receivers might be
- 1:37:07Speaker 9: wearing like a little bit lighter pads. They're not tackling.
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: That's sometimes an underrated tricky thing to tell the difference
- 1:37:12Speaker 5: between the shells and the pads, especially with the skill
- 1:37:15Speaker 5: guys because they're so small.
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: So it's probably ninety plus degrees on that field, high human.
- 1:37:20Speaker 9: Yea, it was hot.
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: Were their coaches out there with with full sweatshirts?
- 1:37:23Speaker 9: Yes?
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: I never understood that. Yeah, I never understood.
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: That it was hot, Like is that yeah?
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: What is that like a statement?
- 1:37:30Speaker 14: Like allegedly, it like holds you off in a sense,
- 1:37:34Speaker 14: it keeps you cool because one, it's like your sweat,
- 1:37:36Speaker 14: it's like cold on your body.
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 1:37:39Speaker 9: No, that's what they say. Yeah, well, it's like why
- 1:37:42Speaker 9: basketball players put like the warm up soup back on
- 1:37:44Speaker 9: when they go sit to sit on.
- 1:37:47Speaker 5: I thought that was yeah, to stay.
- 1:37:49Speaker 6: But I don't know.
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: Your sweat being cool attached to your body, I guess
- 1:37:52Speaker 4: it cools you off.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:37:53Speaker 14: I don't believe in that theory, but I've always seen
- 1:37:56Speaker 14: the modefits, even turning camp.
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: I'm like, why are you wearing sweatpants and a sweat.
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: It's funny, I always thought. I mean, I guess I'm
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: probably totally wrong on this, but I always thought that
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: you saw that a lot with coaches because of the sun,
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: like fears of the sun.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: Okay, too much exposure, so you wear a long sleeve
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: shirt or something like.
- 1:38:13Speaker 9: There was a lot of exposure to the sun today.
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: It was so there was a lot of grousing.
- 1:38:19Speaker 5: It always kind of the sun. Again, to go out
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: there and watch practice once a while, they're out there
- 1:38:24Speaker 5: every single day for the whole time. Yeah, and you know,
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: like golfers sometimes golfers golf golfers, you know, I don't know.
- 1:38:32Speaker 9: Yep, there was some grossing.
- 1:38:33Speaker 5: Maybe it has nothing to do with that, and it's
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: what Samara said.
- 1:38:36Speaker 9: Grassing about the heat, a little bit of a Twitter
- 1:38:40Speaker 9: X grousing, grosing. Yeah, there's some X grousing because a
- 1:38:44Speaker 9: lot of us have now signed up for monetization on
- 1:38:47Speaker 9: on X, so we were comparing how much we were
- 1:38:50Speaker 9: all making and the outcome for us content creators is
- 1:38:55Speaker 9: not not so hot, not not exactly going to be
- 1:38:57Speaker 9: a billionaire from my my monetoza twenty seven cents. Yeah,
- 1:39:01Speaker 9: So that that was a big conversation, and as well
- 1:39:05Speaker 9: as how many times is head coach Bill Belichick gonna
- 1:39:09Speaker 9: be asked about Tom Brady returning to Jillette Stadium and
- 1:39:13Speaker 9: to the Patriots the Sun.
- 1:39:14Speaker 6: So the people asking him about Tom Brady are the
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: ones complaining about.
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: Yes, here's one that I have how many times this
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: is a bingo go? How many times will a writer
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: or commentator of the game use the word backdrop in
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: reference to this game? Is in the backdrop of Tom
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: Brady you know in that context. I've already heard it
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: twice this morning.
- 1:39:36Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, So he's been by my count. Bill has
- 1:39:39Speaker 9: already been asked four times about Brady coming back. He
- 1:39:42Speaker 9: got asked again today. He got asked on EI which
- 1:39:45Speaker 9: is the best answer that he's gonna give about it.
- 1:39:48Speaker 9: And he's been asked twice last once last week, and
- 1:39:50Speaker 9: then once on the Zoom call on Monday morning. So
- 1:39:53Speaker 9: we've we've already asked him four times. Now, are we
- 1:39:55Speaker 9: gonna go for the fifth on Friday? Or are we
- 1:39:57Speaker 9: gonna we could.
- 1:39:58Speaker 6: Get fifth Friday? Then after the game's Sunday?
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: How was it?
- 1:40:03Speaker 6: You got smoke? But what was it like?
- 1:40:05Speaker 4: Like he's gonna be like I don't know because I
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: was in the locker room.
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: I'm gonna say it's gonna be only yeah. No, if
- 1:40:11Speaker 5: they lose, I don't think you wish Tom was on the.
- 1:40:13Speaker 6: Field for you.
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: But if they win, always good to see Tom. Bring
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: him back next week?
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: Right, How do we feel about a break one victory?
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: You can come back every week? You know, that's if they.
- 1:40:23Speaker 5: Win, that's that's great. Like it's okay that the other
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: media can make fun of the other media, But when
- 1:40:28Speaker 5: I do.
- 1:40:29Speaker 6: It's I that it was mainly me that was pointing that.
- 1:40:34Speaker 5: So just for disclosure, how many times?
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: How many times?
- 1:40:37Speaker 9: Because like I'm not gonna be the one to ask
- 1:40:39Speaker 9: that question because I don't care, but be also because
- 1:40:42Speaker 9: like I let them handle asking the questions. But like
- 1:40:45Speaker 9: it's it gets to the point where it's just like guys,
- 1:40:48Speaker 9: like how many more sound bites we need it?
- 1:40:50Speaker 14: Oh?
- 1:40:50Speaker 9: Yeah, it's great to it's gonna great, be great, it's
- 1:40:53Speaker 9: gonna be great to have Tom. It's gonna be great,
- 1:40:54Speaker 9: it'sna be great.
- 1:40:55Speaker 5: But we got to it.
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: But that's where see, that's where that's where the TV
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: guys screw it up, you know, because like it's not
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: always the writers. The TV guys have to get it
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: on their camera. You know, even if he said it
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: last yesterday, I need to get it on my camera
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: for my six o'clock news, you know, him talking about
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: Tom Brady. And so they asked the same questions over
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: and over again.
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: When when the when the big when the big media
- 1:41:21Speaker 6: guy that like on TV, guys like Duke, when Duke,
- 1:41:23Speaker 6: I remember Duke coming down, you know, and they've got
- 1:41:25Speaker 6: the coach, you know, they have like the very capital.
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: Yeah like that, don't think like I don't know that's
- 1:41:30Speaker 6: you know. There was one today that asked one of
- 1:41:32Speaker 6: those questions, but they're just it's so, you know, coach,
- 1:41:34Speaker 6: what do you think of the you know right? Whereas
- 1:41:36Speaker 6: like you know, Roachie would just be like, you know,
- 1:41:38Speaker 6: his little camp.
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: Rocky to question, so do you like football?
- 1:41:45Speaker 11: How great is it?
- 1:41:49Speaker 6: Curious?
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: Andrew in North Carolina, It's absurd that people are complaining
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: about the show. Within a show, we're getting free content
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: instead of ads. Not to mention giveaways. It's a great service.
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: Anytime something changes, people will complain about it for a year,
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: no matter how good the change is. Anyway, give the
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: guys and gals who work on the show my thanks.
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: There you go.
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: Honestly, I feel like that's an old people thing.
- 1:42:12Speaker 14: Don't take offense like my old like my grandparents are
- 1:42:16Speaker 14: like they just hate change, Like she will literally write
- 1:42:19Speaker 14: a track at the grocery store forever, even though I'm like,
- 1:42:22Speaker 14: use your cards.
- 1:42:23Speaker 6: As a person who's getting older, though, I find like
- 1:42:25Speaker 6: a certain just like you get older and you're like
- 1:42:27Speaker 6: I like what I like and I don't care. I
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: just want to do what I like and I'm not like.
- 1:42:31Speaker 9: About writing checks like we can No, No, that's you know,
- 1:42:33Speaker 9: there's there's a line.
- 1:42:34Speaker 6: There's a line. No, there's a line, but there is.
- 1:42:38Speaker 6: But there is just a certain thing. I don't need
- 1:42:41Speaker 6: to try everything new to save a tree save five minutes?
- 1:42:44Speaker 14: Do you use your Apple wallet like you're Yeah, So
- 1:42:48Speaker 14: if cards completely went away and you had to use
- 1:42:50Speaker 14: your Apple wallet for everything, would you be annoyed?
- 1:42:52Speaker 5: I would?
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: You would?
- 1:42:54Speaker 5: Why I don't because I don't like that. Why I'm
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: one of the people she's making fun of. I don't
- 1:42:59Speaker 5: like change.
- 1:43:00Speaker 9: That's different though, because that's that's two steps like checks
- 1:43:03Speaker 9: are checks are two steps removed.
- 1:43:04Speaker 5: I haven't written I haven't written a check for anything
- 1:43:06Speaker 5: other than a gift for somebody in like fifteen years.
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: Even like self checkout. She hates self checkout checkout, and
- 1:43:15Speaker 4: she's like, I'm gonna go.
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: Why don't you like just using your phone instead of
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: a card?
- 1:43:19Speaker 6: I don't know, what do you do?
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: You don't know? I don't know.
- 1:43:23Speaker 6: They take take your phone at at a restaurant.
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: Yeah, they have. Now, I love the CA Now on
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: the receipt there's a QR coat you can you can
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: scan it and it's like Clover or something like that.
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: You give the tip right there, boom boom, you don't
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: have to talk to anybody.
- 1:43:40Speaker 9: I like the app on the maybe that's why I
- 1:43:42Speaker 9: like or at where is it?
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: Yard House?
- 1:43:45Speaker 9: We like Yardhouse? They have the kiosks. Yeah, and I
- 1:43:49Speaker 9: don't have to flag down the waiter for the check anymore.
- 1:43:51Speaker 9: It's beer. Yeah, it's because we go to the one
- 1:43:56Speaker 9: at Fenway a lot before Red Sox games and like
- 1:43:59Speaker 9: we might be time to go.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: The game is done.
- 1:44:03Speaker 9: Right and I don't have to, like, you know, flag
- 1:44:05Speaker 9: somebody down. It's just we're good, let's go.
- 1:44:07Speaker 5: But a lot of places have those kiosks. I like,
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: though those are I use my card, yeah, but I
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: don't have to wait for it.
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: But you know this is safer than using your card
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: how so, because.
- 1:44:17Speaker 5: I'm not telling you it's not.
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: It changes the number like every.
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: Time it sends a token instead of the actual card number. Yeah.
- 1:44:24Speaker 6: Safety.
- 1:44:26Speaker 5: So if they get my phone, they don't have access
- 1:44:28Speaker 5: to my Apple.
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: They still need your face.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: It's encrypted. It's encrypted, So.
- 1:44:33Speaker 14: Someone gets your phone, they couldn't purchase anything with it
- 1:44:35Speaker 14: because they would still need to know your password or
- 1:44:37Speaker 14: have your face.
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: But that's what hackers do, right, Hackers get into your personally.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: I mean, nothing's infallible, right, But that's why I was
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: wondering why it's safer.
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: Okay, take your word for it.
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: I know nothing about that, especially at the pump, like
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: any place that any place where you swipe a card,
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: you don't know if they're like reading it or whatever.
- 1:44:57Speaker 6: That's why you go in to pay, right, no.
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: Even even pay. They found people like you know how
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: they have the little machine, it's got the numbers and
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: you swipe it. Well, they found this one guy, Yeah,
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: he had skimmer. You lifted it up and there was
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: another thing, so it was double reading.
- 1:45:11Speaker 6: Always go in, you always just go in to pay.
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: But if you use your phone, and I've never done that,
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: you can if you use your phone at the pump
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: because there's no number.
- 1:45:20Speaker 6: Eric argument that we had.
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: I've never gone into a gas.
- 1:45:24Speaker 9: I don't think I've ever done that in my whole life.
- 1:45:27Speaker 9: I think that that.
- 1:45:28Speaker 4: Was once I've learned that someone has stole my card
- 1:45:31Speaker 4: number from the pump.
- 1:45:31Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, that's a big thing.
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: And in taxi cabs that's dangerous.
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: Can taxis now in New York?
- 1:45:38Speaker 9: You do?
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: Yeah, well, in Europe you have to kind of they
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: don't have uber and they do. I shouldn't say that
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: there they call.
- 1:45:47Speaker 6: It New York City Uber.
- 1:45:49Speaker 9: I'll take a taxi.
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: They're easier to get, easier to get and.
- 1:45:54Speaker 9: Well, yeah, but like if you're going, you know certain places.
- 1:45:58Speaker 6: Can I ask you what's your current philosophy? Because I'm
- 1:46:00Speaker 6: getting a lot of and the machine's just gonna ask
- 1:46:02Speaker 6: you a quick question. Oh right, Whenever I do anything
- 1:46:04Speaker 6: now you always get asked a quick.
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: Question, but it starts at like twenty five percent.
- 1:46:08Speaker 5: You have to hit no. But I think what Mike
- 1:46:11Speaker 5: is talking about is like anybody that goes out to dinner,
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: you sit down, you're doing so probably with an expectation
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: you're gonna give at least a twenty percent tip. Right, yes,
- 1:46:20Speaker 5: how about when you go to the bakery and you say,
- 1:46:22Speaker 5: can I have a dozen canolis?
- 1:46:24Speaker 6: And then he's gonna ask you a question?
- 1:46:26Speaker 5: Real quill you pay? They turn it around and it's
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: like tip five percent? Like I don't I generally tip
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: on that.
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: I do custom one dollar?
- 1:46:33Speaker 6: Yeah, ooh, just a buck?
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: Wow?
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: Say that's I would be like, why bother?
- 1:46:38Speaker 13: No?
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: If it's just listen if it's just if it's just
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: something at the counter and I'm buying it and they ask,
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: I'll give him a box.
- 1:46:45Speaker 5: So do you guys feel the same way? Do you
- 1:46:46Speaker 5: not tip on stuff off.
- 1:46:47Speaker 9: When if it's like something like you described, but if
- 1:46:51Speaker 9: I'm not.
- 1:46:53Speaker 5: Yeah, oh no, if you get a drink at a bar,
- 1:46:55Speaker 5: someone's bringing you over.
- 1:46:56Speaker 9: But even still like a big Newer's kick right right,
- 1:46:58Speaker 9: he is Big Newner's kick. Crack the can? Like was that? Like,
- 1:47:01Speaker 9: do I really need to give you a nice tip?
- 1:47:03Speaker 5: Because like you grab the cooler and.
- 1:47:05Speaker 2: I do want to get these calls.
- 1:47:07Speaker 5: But what about I go fin?
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: What about takeout? Like so you go to a traditional
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: restaurant but you're get to a little bit. How much
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: do you tip take out? Yeah?
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: Yeah, nothing, I do a little thing really un lest
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: they take it too if they if it's delivery, this
- 1:47:21Speaker 5: still I tip.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: Out of my cook involved, you know, and they.
- 1:47:24Speaker 6: Somebody put it all together and bag it up for
- 1:47:27Speaker 6: I do you tip the back? I understand why.
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: I'll give him like ten or fifteen.
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: I'm a pretty generous I'm not trying to tell you
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: how great. I'm a pretty generous tipper. But I don't.
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: I work take out at a restaurant Marshide down there,
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: like and so I always you know, there was some
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: work that goes into it. So that's why I'm biased
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: against it. But other stuff like an ice cream place,
- 1:47:47Speaker 6: like a little question for you, you know, like a buck, but.
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: I don't know, just getting I'd be more apptive on everything.
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: I'd be more apt to tip a guy getting me
- 1:47:53Speaker 5: ice cream, because I think that's a lot harder than
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: putting something scoop and get those people, especially you like
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: a really popular like Richardson's up. My way is packed
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: like throughout the summer, and they work their butts off,
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: Like I I tiped those guys. Yeah, but you know
- 1:48:12Speaker 5: the cook is cooking it and someone put it in
- 1:48:15Speaker 5: a styrofoam container.
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: I know, but they pulled the tips and they tipped
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: the cook off their tips, you know. So if you
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: don't tip, if no one tips, the cook, doesn't get they.
- 1:48:23Speaker 6: Never tipped the cook. Always tip the bus boys, you have.
- 1:48:25Speaker 5: To, So you're wasting your money. You think you're tipping
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: one person and you're not the cook. You're you're tipping
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: someone who's doing absolutely nothing for you.
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: Chefs, I don't know. All right, let's go to the ace.
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: Ticket up Tyreeks in South Carolina. What's up, Tyreek?
- 1:48:40Speaker 6: I'm gonna light y'all up in two weeks.
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: But what's that?
- 1:48:45Speaker 13: Good?
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: Said?
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: How you guys doing today?
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: Good?
- 1:48:49Speaker 12: It's good to good to talk to you guys.
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: I actually have the Patriots beating the Eagles, and the
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: one reason why it's crazy enough is just because I
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: think the speed of the defense has been upgraded this year.
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: And watching Marty play that last game and I saw
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: him just running across the field to the sideline and
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: make that tackle, I was like, Wow, I've not seen
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: that in so long.
- 1:49:13Speaker 6: Okay, listen, I hope you're right. Yeah, it is there.
- 1:49:17Speaker 6: I just wonder how much it's going to translate. I mean,
- 1:49:20Speaker 6: you know, where are the new pieces. Is Maphu gonna
- 1:49:22Speaker 6: play a bunch? And that speed's going to translate to
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: the game. You know, I think it might largely be
- 1:49:26Speaker 6: the same kind of cast of characters last year with Gonzales.
- 1:49:29Speaker 9: That's my biggest fear is that they're gonna just look
- 1:49:32Speaker 9: at it like we brought ten guys back from last year.
- 1:49:35Speaker 9: Gonzalez is obviously going to play on the outside, and
- 1:49:38Speaker 9: Kean White's maybe in like our situational rotational role. And
- 1:49:41Speaker 9: I'm concerned that Marty mop Who's not gonna play at all.
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: That's Mike's he really killed my buzz a couple.
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: Of bus just like that. Boom.
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: All right, thanks Tyreek, Let's go to Moises in Florida.
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: What's up Moises? Moises? Hello? Hello? Hello? Nope? Okay? Dan
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: and Virginia in Michigan. What's up? Dan?
- 1:50:05Speaker 17: I don't think we have time for what I was
- 1:50:07Speaker 17: originally calling about. So you mentioned last week you sometimes
- 1:50:14Speaker 17: run the show out of a code check closet, and
- 1:50:16Speaker 17: sometimes you have to pull double duty.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: If you did that with more.
- 1:50:19Speaker 17: Recent members of the team of the writing team, who
- 1:50:22Speaker 17: would go to prison first? Andy or Eric if they
- 1:50:25Speaker 17: have to check coats as well as.
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: Right and Andy would go to prison, but Eric would.
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: He'd get into arguments with people, and I.
- 1:50:34Speaker 5: Think Eric would be more likely to go to prison
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: for that reason. I think Andy would be pissed with you.
- 1:50:39Speaker 5: I think Eric would argue and get in trouble with
- 1:50:41Speaker 5: the people, but I.
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: Think he'd stopped short of getting arrested. Andy wouldn't no, no,
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: he'd go for it.
- 1:50:47Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, I can be convinced.
- 1:50:49Speaker 9: Yeah, why are you getting arrested for checking coats?
- 1:50:54Speaker 5: Because Fred's right, Andy would be more likely to hit somebody.
- 1:50:59Speaker 5: Oh I see yeah, like you know, hurry up?
- 1:51:02Speaker 6: Dare you you know?
- 1:51:03Speaker 5: Like sir?
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: Yeah? Boy?
- 1:51:08Speaker 6: Would you tip?
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: And is that it just a co check question? You
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: have anything else?
- 1:51:13Speaker 17: I had something else, but I really don't think we
- 1:51:14Speaker 17: have time. So let's go Patriots.
- 1:51:18Speaker 5: Yeah, okay too, because if it was deep, then you
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: couldn't get it in ten minutes.
- 1:51:23Speaker 6: Lots of unravel, lots on packs like.
- 1:51:25Speaker 9: We have shows three days a week now, so you
- 1:51:27Speaker 9: can call back to my game.
- 1:51:29Speaker 2: Spee again, he says, Mike, let's make a bet. If
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: the Patriots win nine or fewer games this year, I
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: buy lunch. But with ten plus wins this year, you
- 1:51:41Speaker 2: have to get a professional body wax. Wow, Now are
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: you willing to do it? Job?
- 1:51:47Speaker 6: And it's expensive, it'd be expensive for me.
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: I'll pay for it.
- 1:51:53Speaker 6: I don't know if I wasn't really paying attention to
- 1:51:56Speaker 6: wait a minute, that's asking a lot.
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: That's asking a lot, and you have to get a
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: full body at you know.
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: I wouldn't roll.
- 1:52:03Speaker 9: I would not I would need to be paid like
- 1:52:05Speaker 9: a million dollars to get it.
- 1:52:07Speaker 6: I mean it's a big job. No, no, no, I
- 1:52:12Speaker 6: mean I I know people who.
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: Are about his forty year old virgin.
- 1:52:18Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:52:18Speaker 6: I mean I knew a guy who worked at a
- 1:52:21Speaker 6: summer camp and before the summer camp he had to go.
- 1:52:24Speaker 6: He would get the whole kit kaboodle everything.
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah, No, No.
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: I mean he had to be because he was on
- 1:52:33Speaker 6: an island. But it's only an island if you look
- 1:52:36Speaker 6: at it from the water.
- 1:52:37Speaker 9: This is disgusting.
- 1:52:39Speaker 6: I'm to stay for that. But like I feel bad
- 1:52:42Speaker 6: that I'm letting speed down. Then I'm being too negative,
- 1:52:44Speaker 6: and you know, I just you know, I don't I
- 1:52:45Speaker 6: don't want him to think that I I think they suck.
- 1:52:48Speaker 6: I just you know, I think they're kind of middling still,
- 1:52:50Speaker 6: And you know that's where I come from with a
- 1:52:52Speaker 6: lot of this stuff. And so you know, I'm not
- 1:52:54Speaker 6: totally down. I still love the team I wanted to
- 1:52:56Speaker 6: do well.
- 1:52:57Speaker 9: Don't don't You're doing great?
- 1:53:00Speaker 6: Yeah no, I don't know. I feel like I'm letting
- 1:53:02Speaker 6: my my positive friends down. But you know, like I
- 1:53:05Speaker 6: said yesterday, it's just watch it. You know, this is
- 1:53:08Speaker 6: what you're watching. The team hasn't changed.
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: You have to be honest and.
- 1:53:11Speaker 6: I want them to change my mind, but you have
- 1:53:12Speaker 6: to be honest.
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: Frederick says, Mike, I see a fifty five yard bomb
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: down the sideline to Rager with a few minutes remaining,
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: d holds Patriots win a thriller twenty seven, twenty four.
- 1:53:25Speaker 5: He could have said, like anybody, but so.
- 1:53:29Speaker 14: I was thinking with Parker if he if he doesn't play,
- 1:53:33Speaker 14: then maybe we might see Booty.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Potentially.
- 1:53:37Speaker 6: Do you want to see Booty?
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: I don't like the way this that question was the
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: way I have to answer. It is interesting.
- 1:53:44Speaker 6: Because I might have to get waxed and.
- 1:53:47Speaker 5: You you wanted to leave your key HR just called You're.
- 1:53:53Speaker 6: O, we're gonna be doing Booty Jones cell here though, come.
- 1:53:55Speaker 14: On, wait, have you guys seen the Twitter that's like
- 1:53:58Speaker 14: Patriots unfiltered, no contact. Someone's probab clipping this right now
- 1:54:01Speaker 14: and it's going to put.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: Just there is such a thing, yeah, boy, where.
- 1:54:05Speaker 4: They just put clips with no context and it is
- 1:54:08Speaker 4: just very large.
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: Well, fred as a newspaper guy, I mean that would
- 1:54:11Speaker 6: have been a caption at some point if you like Booty.
- 1:54:14Speaker 5: Oh no, I mean, of course it's good nice booty
- 1:54:18Speaker 5: either way.
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: Did you get in trouble for the Are you ref
- 1:54:20Speaker 6: and kidding me?
- 1:54:21Speaker 16: One?
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: Is that?
- 1:54:21Speaker 12: What?
- 1:54:21Speaker 14: No?
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: But that that was on the line. No, it was
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: Frank that was played on me. There was a FedEx
- 1:54:27Speaker 2: that came from the league office that said I was
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: being fined five thousand dollars for criticizing the refs and
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: it was it was a prank.
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: Wow, that's a good one.
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:54:37Speaker 5: I was the greatest thing.
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: The only reason done the person fest up because I
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: said I'm calling the.
- 1:54:42Speaker 6: League official and everything that was pissed.
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: I thought it was real. They got me five.
- 1:54:47Speaker 6: Grand I would have got more.
- 1:54:48Speaker 5: But we did think about that cover for a while.
- 1:54:51Speaker 9: Fred.
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: That was Fred's cover. He came up with the idea
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: and mean like Andy and I was like felt out,
- 1:54:56Speaker 5: like that's perfect.
- 1:54:57Speaker 4: Did they do it on April folds or no?
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: No, no, no, no no no.
- 1:55:00Speaker 5: This was like the week after it happened.
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: We got screwed by the refs in Baltimore and the
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: refs were on strike, so it was all the place.
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: So we had a picture of the Justin Tucker's first
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: going wide and first with the caption are you ref
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: and kidding me?
- 1:55:18Speaker 9: I remember that?
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: Yeah? And so then I got this FedEx from the
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: league saying I'm being fine.
- 1:55:22Speaker 5: I'm like, were you part of that? No, Brian told
- 1:55:26Speaker 5: me after he had already done it.
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: How did he get it? How did he make it?
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: Say it was from the league, that's crazy.
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: Yeah, he did it. Jonathan was in on it.
- 1:55:34Speaker 5: Yeah he got Jonathan got him like the wording that,
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: like how it will be phrased and everything, and they
- 1:55:39Speaker 5: got the NFL stationary Like, Brian did it really well.
- 1:55:43Speaker 5: But he didn't tell me until after he had already
- 1:55:45Speaker 5: done it.
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: So I stormed out of my office and I was
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: on my way to a meeting. I said, as soon
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: as it's me, I'm calling the league. And so Brian
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: freaked out because he knew I was really going to
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: call the league, and he's like, I did.
- 1:55:55Speaker 5: It, goes. I got to tell him, I go no, no, no,
- 1:55:58Speaker 5: not now, what's getting good?
- 1:56:00Speaker 6: Good?
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: It was a good one. I still have it. Yeah,
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: I kept it. It was so good.
- 1:56:04Speaker 5: How about the frustrating covert that was?
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: That was parcels? Yeah? I got you know, Oh they're
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: using bad words. No, I didn't use the bad word
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: I just implied, applied it too. Yeah, quick one rose
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: from Saint Louis quick game to twenty twenty two breakout
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: team that regresses in twenty twenty three? Is it Seattle,
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: the Giants or the Vikings? Who regresses the Vikings? Yeah,
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: A lot of people think that.
- 1:56:33Speaker 5: Those are the two. Vikings and Giants are the two yeah,
- 1:56:36Speaker 5: big ones. But I think the Vikings because they want
- 1:56:38Speaker 5: so many fluky.
- 1:56:38Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm going Vikings.
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: A young quarterback that that'll establish himself as a franchise guy.
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: Picket Ritter or Fields mac Jones ticket, He's not one
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: of the selections.
- 1:56:49Speaker 9: That's rude.
- 1:56:49Speaker 6: I'm definitely I go two gloves on that one.
- 1:56:52Speaker 5: I to go picket on.
- 1:56:54Speaker 9: Out of those three, who is it, Ridder Picket and
- 1:56:56Speaker 9: Fields mac Jones.
- 1:56:59Speaker 5: I think Fields is gonna be okay too, But pick
- 1:57:01Speaker 5: it out of those three.
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: Vet that will fall into obscurity by the end of
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: the season. Cooper Cup, Derek Henry or von.
- 1:57:07Speaker 5: Miller, Aaron Rodgers, Derek Henry, von Miller, DeAndre. I think
- 1:57:13Speaker 5: they're handling von Miller perfectly. Yeah, it's gonna be like, yeah,
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: he'll never play, no, no, no, going to sit out the
- 1:57:19Speaker 5: first month, ready.
- 1:57:21Speaker 9: Play the last post Thanksgiving?
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: Could you could you ever see like being used that way?
- 1:57:28Speaker 6: Not in this part?
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: Not for what we're paying them. I know they're paying
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: von Miller a lot, but we won't do that.
- 1:57:33Speaker 14: Uh.
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: First coach fired Rivera Staley or Stefanski.
- 1:57:37Speaker 9: Staley definitely not Vera. I don't know if I don't,
- 1:57:43Speaker 9: I don't know if s is gonna get fired.
- 1:57:45Speaker 5: Did you guys see that stuff about Rivera not realizing
- 1:57:48Speaker 5: how well Sam Howell had played last year?
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:57:51Speaker 6: Yes, he practice.
