- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I am your host, rochelle.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm a holistic human design health coach and this is a space for human design and spiritual journey.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It's not about being a master of your emotions, rather mastering the tools to self-regulate, to awakening yourself and remembering who you are.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Human design changed my life about five years ago and I've been learning and teaching the system ever since.
- 0:24Speaker 1: This podcast is human design meets spirituality, meets astrology.
- 0:27Speaker 1: You don't have to have a belief system to be here, just an open mind and curiosity.
- 0:32Speaker 1: This is a journey of meeting yourself and awakening to your infinite potential.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Now let the magic begin.
- 0:38Speaker 1: This episode on the podcast.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I am talking to Dr Ron Stotz, who is a three-time bestselling author with a PhD in psychology and a doctor of chiropractic.
- 0:51Speaker 1: He's explored the depths of ancient wisdom and the latest psychological, neurological studies and leadership as he guides entrepreneurs and executives into the highest levels of conscious leadership.
- 1:01Speaker 1: This conversation was so beautiful and it was such a good reminder to cultivate self-awareness, to really do that inner healing work and to breathe.
- 1:15Speaker 1: We talk about breathwork a lot, the power of breathwork, and as I was listening to this, I had a moment earlier today actually, where I was reminded to come back and focus because lately I feel like I've been a little bit out of my practice.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I haven't been going to the gym as often as I usually do.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I've been a little bit distracted and I think, you know, the beginning phases of relationships can be really exciting and creating space to be on the phone or to see each other.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And also I sort of have to remember my patterns and how I can.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I have a tendency in the past to lose myself in that and not that that's what's happening, but it's this balance of creating space, of creating space and also not losing the things that you're doing right.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And so earlier today I was thinking I need to really come back to myself and really, in my mind, prioritize things, because things are changing at my work and relationship and the podcast and everything, and so really reorganizing and restructuring to make sure that I continue to do the things that I love and I'm passionate about and that excite me.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And today is the Taurus new moon, which is really big energy, and it's a beautiful time to really set intentions and manifest.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It's just like opening a door to a new chapter.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Is what it feels like?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Jupiter's in the mix, venus is in the mix.
- 2:46Speaker 1: The sun and the moon obviously are conjunct and it just feels really exciting.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I actually was exhausted yesterday, but this episode was really.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it was just a great reminder to sort of come back and to prioritize and to create self-awareness and to really love myself.
- 3:03Speaker 1: There are so many quotes that I took from this episode that Ron said that I'm gonna be posting on Instagram and making content out of them because they were really, really good.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah, like I said, it was just such a beautiful reminder.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You know, just yeah, doing that inner healing work, stopping and breathing.
- 3:23Speaker 1: We talk about conscious leadership.
- 3:24Speaker 1: We talk about, you know, dealing with the past, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, becoming more conscious and rewiring your brain, which is so powerful.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We talk about plant medicine.
- 3:33Speaker 1: We talk about our childhood and normalizing how we tend to normalize our childhood.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Even if it's painful, it's what we know, it's what we grew up with, and so we tend to feel like it's normal, even though you know it may be painful.
- 3:46Speaker 1: This was a really great conversation, so I'm going to keep this brief because it's after 10 o'clock, but you can find Ron through his website, that is ronstotzcom, and you can find me on Instagram at Rochelle Christian R-O-C-H-E-L-L-E dot.

- 4:16Speaker 1: I just guided a new moon circle tonight.
- 4:17Speaker 1: We have an inner child healing workshop tomorrow.

- 4:25Speaker 1: There's a full moon circle.
- 4:27Speaker 1: So much good stuff in there.

- 4:48Speaker 1: We go into energetics, we go into the gene keys, we go into astrology, we go into all of the things, and it is just such.

- 5:50Speaker 1: This is my birthday next week.

- 5:59Speaker 1: And you know we talk a lot about mindset work in this episode and it's so amazing.
- 6:05Speaker 1: It's always in hindsight when we look back and we're like, whoa, I changed so much.
- 6:09Speaker 1: You know the things that used to terrify me and of course, at every level there's something new.
- 6:13Speaker 1: That's scary, right, but the ability to do something scary and new now and it not take over my completely, take over my system and make me run, you know, just shows the trust in myself, the shift in myself.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And again, not to say that those things don't make me nervous, but also to see the bigger picture and to be able to reframe my mindset, and it's just such a beautiful journey.
- 6:34Speaker 1: So enjoy the episode and I will talk to you next week.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Well, welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Today I have Dr Ron Stotz, who is an executive coach and transformation guide, three-time bestselling author with a PhD in psychology and a doctor of chiropractics, and I'm really excited to have this conversation because I think the themes of breathwork, like we talked about, emotional intelligence, authentic leadership, are so important for everyone, and I think it's something that a lot of us are waking up to.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And, you know, I believe when you're on this journey, whether it's spiritual or just in leadership or as an entrepreneur, these things really help, you know, propel you forward, and obviously that's what we're going to get into today.
- 7:16Speaker 1: So I'm excited.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I will hand you the floor, though, and I'll let you, you know, introduce yourself and kind of share your journey of how you got to where you are and any defining moments along the way.
- 7:26Speaker 3: All right, yeah Well, just in terms of what you shared to me, there really aren't and I'm sure you agree, there aren't separate selves that we go through the world in.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I mean, a lot of people do it that way, but I think it creates a lot of schism within their ability to function on a higher level, and so the real quest is to become a single, authentic human being that's really accessing your full potential and that takes.
- 7:56Speaker 3: That is a journey.
- 7:57Speaker 3: It might be the whole journey.
- 7:59Speaker 3: It is a journey that has to be taken consciously, and so you know how we get there.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I'm just thinking, in the last couple of days, people calling who are interested in the work or involved in the work and that type of thing, and you know I had a great call with a kid.
- 8:17Speaker 3: That's very rude, 27-year-old adult, younger than my grandkids, but you know, brilliant guy, really capable and really sees what he wants to do in the world.
- 8:32Speaker 3: But I'm kind of looking for, well, what challenges are you facing?
- 8:37Speaker 3: What's your dream come true?
- 8:38Speaker 3: And you know it's more.
- 8:40Speaker 3: The classic is that he's looking outside of himself for those answers, outside of what's motivating him.
- 8:47Speaker 3: He's motivated by childhood stuff.
- 8:49Speaker 3: In an unconscious way he's been motivated by his desires and fears and other ways.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I'm sure he's going to do great I really am but like everybody who ends up coming to me, they're going to do great with what they have until they reach a certain point and then they need to access more and unfortunately they're addicted.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I mean, I really do feel that that's not too strong a word in the way that I see things.
- 9:18Speaker 3: They're addicted to looking outside of themselves for what can only be found within, and so that's really what my work is about is supporting people in that inner journey for the outer success, healing the past to empower their future.
- 9:36Speaker 3: However you want to say it.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think some people celebrate that I am so on my journey and so on my path, and it's like you know, the truth for me is healing and really becoming a whole, integrated human being is much easier than struggling and being at the effect of all the childhood issues that nobody wants to look at.
- 10:03Speaker 3: And so when somebody comes to me and they might be from 27 to 67, I mean whatever age they are what I'm looking at is what's really behind where you are.
- 10:18Speaker 3: You're running into something.
- 10:20Speaker 3: You want more.
- 10:21Speaker 3: You know you want to play on another level.
- 10:23Speaker 3: You want to be more successful, more money, have a more effective organization, more cooperative, collaborative, whatever it might be.
- 10:33Speaker 3: So you're looking for more.
- 10:35Speaker 3: And then I say congratulations.
- 10:37Speaker 3: That angst, that struggle you're in is really nothing more than an indicator that you're ready to evolve, and so it's a matter of it's like okay, so maybe they're feeling the classic not enough, or like they're not fulfilling their potential or whatever.
- 10:56Speaker 3: And it's like you know the truth is you're not enough unless you've learned to access more of yourself, and that's an ongoing process of evolving.
- 11:09Speaker 3: That's an ongoing you know.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You're always.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You know whenever you run up against something, you don't know what's next, or you're having a challenge, or you're struggling.
- 11:17Speaker 3: That's nothing but an indicator, not something to react to from fear, other than letting your fear recognize.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Oh, I really need to breathe into this and go deeper, but to really be excited about the opportunity.
- 11:31Speaker 3: You know that, oh yes, I have a struggle.
- 11:34Speaker 3: That means something's ready to be healed, and so if I breathe into that and heal that, then that's how I'm going to access the very thing that I need to take my life up to the next level.
- 11:45Speaker 3: And so a lot of what I'm talking about is really looking at shifting perspective, and perspective is really nothing more than the result of the level of consciousness you're on, and so it's critical that you be able to shift your level of consciousness ongoingly.
- 12:11Speaker 3: People talk about comfort zones.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I really see those as just okay.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Here's the strata of consciousness.
- 12:17Speaker 3: If I'm this conscious, then I've had a spiritual weekend or something.
- 12:22Speaker 3: This level.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I've had a fight with my partner and I'm having trouble, you know.
- 12:26Speaker 3: So they react and try and get themselves centered from here and over here, they kind of well, let's party a little bit and bring yourself back down to you know that range.
- 12:35Speaker 3: My support is like just continue to evolve, you know, because because whatever you can't find in a given level of consciousness can be found in a more expanded level of awareness and consciousness.
- 12:50Speaker 3: So learn to do what it takes to be able to make those shifts ongoingly.
- 12:59Speaker 3: You know, I guess that's where my journey began was I stumbled out of thinking I was the all-American kid into recognizing I was in deep shit.
- 13:11Speaker 3: I mean, I got out of the military, which was not a fit for me at all, that was a reality check.
- 13:21Speaker 3: And then, you know, just in my recovery period, got a divorce and lost custody my two sons and I mean I was only 22.
- 13:29Speaker 3: So that was I really had to catch myself in that spin out and became suicidal.
- 13:39Speaker 3: And turns out I had a lot of chemical imbalances due to the PTSD from Vietnam War and you know, but nobody knew anything about that then and so it was just falling into place.
- 13:52Speaker 3: But I had that opportunity to leave and quit the world or to do whatever it took to find my way into another level of awareness and consciousness and a new perspective, and so that's really where I began.
- 14:10Speaker 3: My journey was out of desperation and struggle and you know, I can't, I don't have a choice.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Well, most people do and that's the luxury they have.
- 14:20Speaker 3: That, unfortunately really holds them back, because you know, I see it.
- 14:25Speaker 3: When people call, a lot of times they're really excited during the call.
- 14:30Speaker 3: They get it, they see it, they're oh yeah.
- 14:33Speaker 3: But boy, if they don't make a commitment to do the work in the next week or two, I'm never going to see them again.
- 14:39Speaker 3: We've got to catch ourselves, it seems, in that moment of pain, in that moment of passion and struggle.
- 14:46Speaker 3: We've got to catch ourselves, or else we fall back into those old patterns, that old oh good enough, and next year and I'll have more money, or it's too much money, or whatever it is.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Not looking at what it's costing them, not only financially but in a myriad of other ways.
- 15:05Speaker 3: And so, yeah, so that's my journey really came from my own journey.
- 15:13Speaker 3: It's really the work that I do is what worked for me, and I've been absolutely blessed to have amazing mentors.
- 15:24Speaker 3: You know, joseph Campbell, buckminster, fuller People don't know their names anymore, maybe, but you know these people.
- 15:30Speaker 3: I still find I'm still, at this point in my life, still amazed at the impact that they had on my life, the direction that it gave me and the understanding.
- 15:40Speaker 3: And so, you know, it's like you've got to at some point.
- 15:45Speaker 3: You know and this is, I guess, almost everybody that comes to me is really at that point where they've done the best they could and now they are feeling stuck.
- 15:57Speaker 3: And another way to look at it is they've really created their life, but it's not on a foundation that's substantial enough to allow them to continue to grow.
- 16:08Speaker 3: You know, when you're building a home, the first thing you build is the foundation and it has to be strong enough to hold whatever you're going to put on top of it.
- 16:17Speaker 3: And I unfortunately see a lot of people building their life, their world, on sand.
- 16:26Speaker 3: You know, because they haven't dealt with the childhood, they haven't dealt with their past, they don't have a level of self-awareness that gives them the emotional intelligence you know.
- 16:38Speaker 3: People say, oh, you know, emotional intelligence is great but it really comes from having dove into and fully embraced that inner child to know your deepest fear, your deepest, your greatest anger, your hurt, your pain, your suffering, your shame.
- 17:00Speaker 3: You know, and if we haven't gone back and reconnected with all those parts and become whole and authentic and conscious those parts, they have pretty much free reign over our subconscious, which is like 90% of our thoughts, you know.
- 17:19Speaker 3: So when people come to me, it's really about leading them and guiding them on an exciting inner adventure of self-awareness and then expanding that into let's integrate that into your life and become a more conscious human being.
- 17:35Speaker 3: That literally neurologically rewiring their brain on an ongoing basis.
- 17:39Speaker 3: That's the short, long version.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I love it.
- 17:44Speaker 1: That's the short long version that we have to share and we have to go through those experiences and I think you know one huge thing that I've learned is you know that space of comfort is isn't always what's healthy, and we know that right.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I think we watch ourselves do it and we know we need to do something differently.
- 18:14Speaker 1: But the anxiety or whatever it is, depression or something, is holding us back and just bringing us back to that space.
- 18:20Speaker 1: And I was the same way for a long time.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I did a lot of the spiritual work.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I did a lot of.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I went to therapy, I did all the things, but I wasn't taking action because I was still afraid, and so I would run back to that space and I can't even say what it was.
- 18:34Speaker 1: The thing that was like you have to take action, like you can't, just not.
- 18:38Speaker 1: You know, and I, and when I started, even just in little things, of just being like okay, one, two, three, and do it, even though it was scary, I think that's when it really starts to unfold in a beautiful way.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And so I guess how can we get ourselves from leaning into that space of comfort constantly to then being able to show up and take those action pieces that reinforce that.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Whatever we're worthier and we can.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it starts with maybe noticing that you've gathered more than enough information and now it's time for transformation.
- 19:13Speaker 3: You know, we're very addicted to.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Well, if I'll just take this course or get this degree, I'm part of that, yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:23Speaker 3: You're just looking outside of yourself for, as I say, for what can only be found within, and to find anything deeply within yourself, you have to become self-aware.
- 19:36Speaker 3: It is a journey of self-awareness, self-growth and development, but to me, you begin by breathing Because, boy, I talk about an epidemic.
- 19:49Speaker 3: There's people not breathing and they really like to not breathe so they can stay up in their heads and it disconnects really two-thirds of their brain from their ability to function.
- 20:07Speaker 3: But you know, when people come to me, that really is the most in-depth work that I do is get them to breathe.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Breathe and begin to feel.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Breathe and begin to look deeper.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Breathe and begin to become more self-aware.
- 20:27Speaker 3: And you know really life gives you all of these indicators.
- 20:34Speaker 3: You know your feelings are nothing but indicators that something's ready to be healed.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Your you know your emotions, your struggles, your dis-ease is really nothing but an indicator that there's piece, the aspect of yourself that you need to access to take yourself up to the next level.
- 21:11Speaker 3: It's a rigged game and it's perfectly designed to support us, except we're reacting as if it's against us, acting as if it's against us fear.
- 21:29Speaker 3: You get to a place where you trust that everything coming in your life is perfectly designed to support you.
- 21:32Speaker 3: You can be grateful for whatever's coming in your life, even though it's really scary or hard or seems difficult.
- 21:39Speaker 3: You get to a place where there's a part of you that's watching for the opportunity, that's really looking at, being curious and present enough so you can breathe into it and see the opportunity.
- 21:52Speaker 3: And that starts with being mindful and it continues until you really develop a life of mindfulness and trust.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Until you really develop a life of mindfulness and trust.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Trust that the top level leaders.
- 22:10Speaker 3: There's really two things that are major indicators of how they got to where they are and how they maintain that higher level.
- 22:16Speaker 3: And these are conscious leaders, not just people making a lot of money, so I don't consider them.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Conscious leaders make generally more money, but it's really they've taken the time to create a very mindful present life and that allows them to be more emotionally intelligent.
- 22:36Speaker 3: It allows them you know, it's a process of healing so they're more able to connect with others and empower others and focus on bringing out the best in others in their organization as they become more conscious.
- 22:50Speaker 3: They really are just creating a world from that place.
- 22:56Speaker 3: My hidden agenda is basically how do we create a more conscious and caring world?
- 23:02Speaker 3: And the answer for me was oh, I seem to be an expert at taking people into high levels of consciousness that used to be more spiritual oriented them into the leadership abilities that they can use in an organization where they can have significant lasting impact not only on the organization but on a societal level.
- 23:39Speaker 3: When I started I thought I was looking for high level, finding the CEOs that really want to transform.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Now I find that anybody who wants to play on that level they can literally within a year you know, neurologically have developed into that mature level of leadership and find a position you know where they have the opportunity to really create that kind of organization create that kind of organization, where do you think the messaging gets confused, or I don't know if that's the right word I'm looking for, but where I think we hear from really successful people.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Right, and I think the underlying theme is, like you said, turning inward and not outward, not listening to all the noise and trusting yourself and doing the work, and I think entrepreneurs or any leader really it's trusting yourself, and I think somewhere along the line the message gets confused with all of us and we just consistently listen to everything, that we just outsource it all and we don't ever question that piece of it.
- 24:40Speaker 1: So I guess, how do you go from point A to point B and where does that?
- 24:46Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:47Speaker 1: How are we receiving a completely different message, just as the masses?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Yeah, no, good, good it's.
- 24:56Speaker 3: You have to learn to trust yourself.
- 25:00Speaker 3: You know I mean the process of healing the inner child and becoming whole and you know, really all of that leads to really becoming, coming to a place of looking within and trusting who and what you are, that authenticity that comes from that.
- 25:20Speaker 3: You know the highest level of leaders I mean in my programs yes, initially I'm developing neurological, integrated, whole brain thinking that gives them greater access to their imagination, creativity and all that sort of thing, and they're very excited about that because they feel smarter and they're already pretty brilliant people.
- 25:40Speaker 3: But then they begin to develop their mindfulness and their mind gets quieter and their forebrain begins to develop into the CEO the conscious CEO of their life, rather than the amygdala, which is the emotional center of fear-based that causes them to respond or overreact and creates a lot of trauma in their life.
- 26:00Speaker 3: And so that's a very exciting level of cognitive and emotional ability is to have that frontal cortex really running your life from that place of what's best for everyone, because that's what's best for me because, that's what's best for me.
- 26:17Speaker 3: But the highest level is it sounds a little contrary, but they learn to silence the mind, to access the best of who and what they are.
- 26:29Speaker 3: They literally learn to say, okay, I need this design, this solution, this answer, whatever it is, and they just quiet their mind, put that out there and, in that silence, watch it come in, and that allows a level of agility that's necessary in this rapid-changing, ever more complex world that we live in.
- 26:51Speaker 3: And so that's.
- 26:53Speaker 3: You know a lot of people.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Well, what do you mean by that?
- 26:57Speaker 3: And the truth is, neurologically, they understand how that works.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Now, when I came up with that 20, 30 years ago, I kind of apologetically introduced it, or something for meditation.
- 27:08Speaker 3: But you know, it turns out that you know there's different brain waves the theta, delta and alpha.
- 27:18Speaker 3: And usually we're accessing whether we're in sleep or creative mode or meditation we're accessing one brain frequency.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Well, it turns out that if you really heal the past, so the mind is quite quiet and you learn to really trust information coming from a higher level than just this efforting sort of brain.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Here you create what's called an alpha bridge across all of those levels of those different frequencies, and when you do that you're really drawing the best of all those frequencies.
- 27:55Speaker 3: So the best for when you're in meditation, the best for when you're in high-level creativity, the best in all aspects of who and what you're capable of accessing.
- 28:04Speaker 3: And so you know, if you want to play on a conscious, successful level, you have to do it from passion for your highest intention.
- 28:17Speaker 3: What do you want to breathe into?
- 28:19Speaker 3: It might be pretty scary, but that's really your aspiration.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Your highest aspiration is what you really need to breathe into, but it's really willing to live your life on that level.
- 28:33Speaker 3: That you've got this highest inspiration.
- 28:36Speaker 3: That's a little scary to you know, wonder whether you'll ever reach that.
- 28:40Speaker 3: But you're using your passion to drive your life rather than using fear to push your life.
- 28:47Speaker 3: You know.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I mean I'll give you just a short something.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I've walked through with thousands of people now in my work.
- 28:57Speaker 3: But it's like you know, if I love myself unconditionally, I'm afraid others will.
- 29:02Speaker 3: And you know, as they finish that sentence and go down several levels, it always comes to you know they won't accept me, they'll reject me, I'll be alone and I'll die.
- 29:12Speaker 3: So that's an underlying belief that is driving their life.
- 29:17Speaker 3: So that's an underlying belief that is driving their life.
- 29:20Speaker 3: And you can really do a parallel with if I'm in my power, if I'm fully in my power, I'm afraid other people will Afraid, other people will be uncomfortable.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I'm afraid they won't like me.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I'm afraid they won't.
- 29:29Speaker 3: You know they'll leave me alone or they'll.
- 29:32Speaker 3: You know I'll be isolated and all alone and I'm afraid I'll die.
- 29:36Speaker 3: So if I love myself unconditionally, I'll be isolated and all alone and I'm afraid I'll die.
- 29:38Speaker 3: So if I love myself unconditionally, I'll die.
- 29:40Speaker 3: If I didn't be in my power, I'll die.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Well, if you have those belief systems running in your subconscious and your subconscious has 90% plus of your thoughts, you're never going to be in your power and you're never going to accept yourself, because that's the least safe thing that you could possibly ever do.
- 29:58Speaker 3: You see how you know substantial that's that sabotage can be in ourselves, how limited those old beliefs, if we don't aren't aware of them, can, you know, literally sabotage our life.
- 30:12Speaker 1: So yeah, the first thing I thought was, if I love myself unconditionally, my family will reject me.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Right, because that's where it starts, exactly, yeah, and I've done a lot of work around that right, like affirmations and journaling, and you know you're talking about the brain and that's so fascinating to me because I really try and do.
- 30:29Speaker 1: You know, meditation and affirmations and that like theta brainwave state from my understanding of it, and yeah, I think it is really powerful to like, even though I still have those negative thoughts, it's it's easier to course correct Right and like kind of pull in those affirmations and come back to myself.
- 30:44Speaker 1: But it's it's taken a long time.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I'm still not like perfect with it, but you know cause it is that initial, I think, until you heal the past so that other 90% is quiet and supportive rather than sabotaging and limiting.
- 31:01Speaker 3: It is very difficult.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I mean, I've been in this business for a long time and I have friends who make tons of money selling programs that sell you on using that 5% to try harder and think better and I don't feel like they're out of integrity with what they're sharing but they're not telling the audience the whole truth of.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Well, if you haven't healed your past, then you really are going to be sabotaged in your efforts to do that by your subconscious thoughts.
- 31:29Speaker 3: I mean entrepreneurs, especially young entrepreneurs.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I see them.
- 31:34Speaker 3: You know they're focused on the money and they want to have an impact and that sort of thing.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Their professional development goes hand in hand with their personal development.
- 31:46Speaker 3: You cannot separate them.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Your level of consciousness determines how you perceive experience and react to everything in life.
- 31:54Speaker 3: So if your level of consciousness is really kind of fear-based and I'm not criticizing that it's just where most of us because we're raised by parents who were raised by parents you know you really you have to take the time to.
- 32:12Speaker 3: You know it only takes a couple months, it really does, you know to learn the tools to do enough healing so that you're looking within, and when something comes up, you use those tools to continue to heal and grow.
- 32:24Speaker 3: So it's not a arduous task that, oh my god, I have to do the work.
- 32:29Speaker 3: You know it's like no, you get to do the work you get on this great adventure, this journey of wholeness and yeah self-acceptance and love.
- 32:39Speaker 1: So yeah, I love that.
- 32:40Speaker 1: I think even in my own journey.
- 32:42Speaker 1: So I'm 37 and I think sometimes because I'm not exactly where I want to be, or dreamed I would be, or society told me I should be at 37, right, it's so easy to get looped in that and I have to pull back and just be like, am I happy?
- 32:55Speaker 1: Right, like it, just start there, and then if I can find that space, then you know whose timeline is, am I on?
- 33:01Speaker 1: You know, I'm not on societies, I'm not my parents, I'm on my timeline and it may look different than my brothers or you know, whoever else of my friends.
- 33:09Speaker 1: That's you know, successful and and so I think for me at least, that's just been a huge help, Because from 30 to 36, we'll say I was very much on, like I have to create this because I'm 36 years old, or I'm 35 years old and I should be here, and I think releasing that just in that created more happiness, to be like, okay, I don't have to be anywhere.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Just here Less stress, more ease, yeah yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I use, I just use the breath as my reference for everything.
- 33:41Speaker 3: It's my dearest friend, my most valued spiritual teacher.
- 33:46Speaker 3: It's everything because it's the most immediately telltale, most immediate indicator as to how I'm doing.
- 33:53Speaker 3: If I'm not breathing fully and deeply, then I'm not accessing the best of who I am.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I don't have a perspective that's most supportive for me to make decisions from.
- 34:05Speaker 3: I'm coming from a place of fear, and if I'm not breathing, I'm literally telling my body that I'm in fight or flight.
- 34:13Speaker 3: And so there's the primal brain and the midbrain and the higher brain.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Any sense of fear, even the subtle, is not breathing, is going to shut down the chemical gates between that midbrain and higher brain.
- 34:30Speaker 3: So all of a sudden, you just don't have access to the best of who you are.
- 34:34Speaker 3: You're not going to come up with your best ideas.
- 34:36Speaker 3: You're going to choose the wrong partner.
- 34:39Speaker 3: You're going to choose, you know, make the wrong decisions and how to move forward, because you're not playing, you know, with a fully developed mind.
- 34:49Speaker 3: And, again, that doesn't take a long time to develop, but it takes a choice of getting out of your comfort zone to become the person that you're.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Choice of getting out of your comfort zone to become the person that you're capable of becoming.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I love to ask people and one thing pokes the image of what they really want out of
- 35:16Speaker 3: life it's like well, okay, that's who I want them to focus on, rather than the effect of their parents or God knows what else in society.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Be at the effect of who you want to be, who you need to be to create that amazing and magical life that you truly want.
- 35:34Speaker 3: It's not going to look, if mine's any representation.
- 35:40Speaker 3: It's not going to look anything like you thought it would.
- 35:43Speaker 3: But it's going to look a lot better.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd love to go back a little bit to just like the breathwork in general and how we can create more awareness of that, and if there's any tools or specific like methods that you use.
- 35:59Speaker 1: You know, if it's like the, I know like there's really intense breath work and there's just really slow breath work.
- 36:05Speaker 1: So as far as, like your, you know what you teach, or with clients, how does that look?
- 36:11Speaker 3: It really starts with paying attention.
- 36:13Speaker 3: You know, are you breathing, when are you breathing?
- 36:16Speaker 3: When are you not breathing?
- 36:17Speaker 3: When are you stopped breathing for extended periods?
- 36:20Speaker 3: That's, to be honest with you, fairly staggering for them to recognize.
- 36:24Speaker 3: And so, in the work that I do, I use a lot of, I'm asking questions, I'm using sentence completion and I train them to breathe into and finish a sentence during and with each exhale.
- 36:41Speaker 3: And that, literally, is neurologically rewiring their brain to oh, when I'm running into something difficult, I'm going to breathe into it.
- 36:50Speaker 3: From now on, I'm going to look deeper.
- 36:52Speaker 3: From now on, I'm going to be present and curious with it from now on.
- 36:55Speaker 3: And so a nice practical thing that we came up with I was co-director of a brain integration center back, God knows when, 70s I think, but you know it's really.
- 37:08Speaker 3: We called it the stop process and I think a lot of people have borrowed it by now.
- 37:14Speaker 3: The S is really stop for a moment.
- 37:14Speaker 3: You know you're feeling anxiety, you're feeling discomfort by now, but the S is really stop for a moment.
- 37:17Speaker 3: You're feeling anxiety, you're feeling discomfort, you're in a situation that you're not comfortable dealing with.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Stop for a moment, Take several deep breaths, Let yourself observe and become curious about what's really going on.
- 37:33Speaker 3: What are you reacting to?
- 37:34Speaker 3: Is that a childhood reaction?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Is that actually something you need to?
- 37:37Speaker 3: Is that a childhood reaction?
- 37:37Speaker 3: Is that actually something you know?
- 37:38Speaker 3: You need to pay attention to here and now.
- 37:40Speaker 3: And, as you observe, from that curious present place, you begin to see what your best next step is, and that's where you proceed.
- 37:48Speaker 3: So the stop is stop, take a few gentle, deep breaths from that place of curiosity and observe.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Observe what you're feeling, what's your best next step, and then proceed on that.
- 38:01Speaker 3: It sounds like a kind of like a stilted sort of way to go through life, but the truth is, after a while, you're always breathing, You're always being curious, You're always recognizing the best next step and you're always taking it, and the word for that is called living mindfully.
- 38:19Speaker 3: So you know, that little trick will take you a long way, yeah.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Just that like stop and taking that pause.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I know for myself and my journey has been so helpful because there's a lot of times where, you know, when you feel anxious, it's a full body response and your mind just turns off right and all you like.
- 38:39Speaker 1: For me, it's like I sweat, or my heart's racing, or you know it's like is this person going to notice how anxious I am?
- 38:45Speaker 1: You know, and just taking that pause, you know, and just being like okay, it really at the end of the day, you know, being present and, yeah, slowing the breath just has been really, really helpful and I think the think, the truth is, the more you do it, you never get to that place that you were just describing, because there's so many earlier indicators that you train yourself to pay attention to it's like when.
- 39:07Speaker 3: I'm sailing you know, there's one of the wires coming from the top of the sail to the front of the boat and on that sail, the foresail there's just two little threads coming off of that sail, one on each side, and you can't sail right into the wind because then nothing would be pushing you.
- 39:26Speaker 3: So you're off the wind to a certain degree, but if you're too far up on the wind, the little tail tail is going to start wiggling.
- 39:35Speaker 3: So, okay, then I'll pull the tiller to me and turn the wheel and I'll fall off a little bit and then everything's good.
- 39:43Speaker 3: And if I fall off too much and the inside one starts wiggling, then I just need to make very gentle corrections as I'm sailing, and the tail, tail, and that's what those are referred to as those indicators really that's where the breath, can you know, work for you.
- 40:02Speaker 3: Because you're just paying that much attention to your breathing and it'll eventually take over and naturally react without you know any effort and just more ease and comfort.
- 40:14Speaker 1: And if we're like in a situation, like, say, a work situation, and start feeling all that and we can't necessarily like step away from the situation, I mean, is it just as simple as just focusing your own breath?
- 40:26Speaker 3: An hour ago I was talking to a CFO and he was in a board meeting and that's exactly what we're talking about.
- 40:33Speaker 3: He's at a point now he's kind of in midway through my more advanced program but he's learned to.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Yes, he's feeling attacked.
- 40:44Speaker 3: He's feeling, you know, it was not a comfortable situation and so he immediately began to breathe and be more present, breathe and be more curious.
- 40:53Speaker 3: But you know, he's at the point now where I said, well, that's really good.
- 40:59Speaker 3: His childhood reaction was normally to step back to.
- 41:02Speaker 3: You know, his parents were a little overbearing and controlling and so the way he handled that was he'd step back a little bit, kind of, you know, reposition himself and get centered so he can handle it.
- 41:14Speaker 3: And that was a brilliant way to go as a child.
- 41:18Speaker 3: But now, in his 50s and in a leadership position, he really has to.
- 41:24Speaker 3: He's making that shift to, rather than step back.
- 41:28Speaker 3: He's learning to be curious enough to step forward into the situation Rather than being pulled back by the fear.
- 41:38Speaker 3: He's really been drawn forward with a curiosity and really the passion to create a better opportunity, a better situation in that board meeting, in that room, in that situation for everybody involved, and he's doing it successfully.
- 41:54Speaker 3: You know, he's in the beginning relative beginning stages with it, it successfully.
- 41:58Speaker 3: You know he's in the beginning, relative beginning stages with it, but he's beginning to shift those old patterns that really literally had him responding in an unsupportive way Supportive as a child, not as a CEO.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think like, and sort of going back to that action or just having trust or seeing, I guess showing yourself that you are safe in those moments of like okay, if I lean into this, nobody's going to hit me, nobody's going to freak out, people are listening, they may notice little, whatever, but I think it is only in doing the thing that you can really see it's different than it was.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you're practicing being a different self than you were before.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Yeah, practicing playing on a different level than you did before, and that's the beauty of you know, I really support people in thinking in terms of really reparenting that inner child, because what happens is they get used to really talking to the different aspects of themselves when they feel challenged or pushed and limited.
- 43:05Speaker 3: And so, even in, you know, like this fellow that I was just referring to, now he's speaking to a self that was who he was a year ago and he's coming from that.
- 43:20Speaker 3: This is the person I am, this is the level I want to play on.
- 43:24Speaker 3: He's coming from that higher, inspired vision of himself and having a talk with this one that was still back in that old pattern.
- 43:34Speaker 3: And, yeah, you learn to trust yourself, you learn to step in rather than away from and back from.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, do you use ifs, just like your some you talk about like parts and things like that, and that's kind of where my mind went.
- 43:49Speaker 1: It sounds similar to like that sort of therapy, I guess I think I think it comes just from experience.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of different parts to it.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Yeah there are, and the game is really learning to accept and heal and integrate those parts so that you are one individual that's authentic and whole and loving and accepting of yourself.
- 44:16Speaker 3: I mean I still, you know, I'll catch myself accepting of yourself.
- 44:19Speaker 3: I mean I still, you know, I'll catch myself, I'll do something fun or silly or I'll I don't know, maybe do something really good.
- 44:25Speaker 3: And I find myself going, you know, talking to my little boy and going, yeah, that was good, yeah, I love that.
- 44:29Speaker 3: It's a completely silly thing to do, but it's still, you know, it's just comfortable to access and act.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Access and acknowledge that you know that we all have those different parts within us and I'm comfortable in loving them all.
- 44:46Speaker 1: So yeah, I noticed for me, I feel like it's easier to like sort of see the inner child more so, like when sadness is there right Cause.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Then it's easier to sort of be like what do you need?
- 44:55Speaker 1: Or like hug it, or you know something like give it the thing, because I mean, you know, if I go back in time to my own, you know inner child and my upbringing and things like that.
- 45:03Speaker 1: I think those are those moments that you know exactly like we didn't get what we needed but we're reparenting it now.
- 45:08Speaker 3: You know, yeah, yeah, I mean you've got to become that parent that you didn't have.
- 45:13Speaker 3: I mean, I remember when I was introduced to this stuff, I looked at my parents and thought they were amazing.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I really did.
- 45:21Speaker 3: I think they're wonderful people.
- 45:23Speaker 3: They both and each had very difficult childhoods.
- 45:26Speaker 3: But their relationship, they were madly in love with each other and they really cared about each other and I thought they did a great job with us.
- 45:33Speaker 3: But, boy, I'll tell you, when I started opening that door and looking how well, how does a little boy feel it's like, well, you know, I didn't feel like I was ever doing things well enough.
- 45:44Speaker 3: I didn't feel, you know, as much as they had this love fest going on.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I always felt like I was a little outside of it or you know, just all these little things.
- 45:53Speaker 3: And you know, yes, I could go well, you know, that's fine.
- 45:57Speaker 3: But in healing those I really, in acknowledging that there was anger, hurt, fear, shame and guilt at each of my parents, which was not easy, to be honest with you, I really got a place of understanding, forgiveness, acceptance and a much deeper level of love and respect than I had before, forgiveness, acceptance and a much deeper level of love and respect than I had before.
- 46:21Speaker 3: I can love them unconditionally.
- 46:22Speaker 3: You know for who they really were, what they had gone through to get to where they were, and you know, I mean, you know we're talking world war ii, we're talking it's interesting because I, I was similar.
- 46:39Speaker 1: My parents are still together to this day.
- 46:40Speaker 1: They've always been, you know, seemingly happy and the trauma that I experienced and the shame that I felt and all of my shadows and everything I always thought about that.
- 46:50Speaker 1: I was like I didn't have an abusive childhood, like where is this all coming from?
- 46:54Speaker 1: But like that, when I really dug into just, you know, emotional needs not being met, or you know, emotional needs not being mad, or, you know, maybe feeling like my brother got more attention than me.
- 47:02Speaker 1: It's little things, micro things that seem silly and you know, but really impacted me.
- 47:07Speaker 1: And it's not that they did anything wrong, right, I think they were doing the best they could with what they had but yeah my little Rochelle just took that to really feel rejected and not good enough.
- 47:20Speaker 1: And so it's my own work to really, like you said, forgive and deal with that, because when anger started coming up, I was really surprised.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I was like, wow, I'm like really angry at them, you know, and it wasn't anything that felt obvious.
- 47:31Speaker 1: I had to really like do that work, to like get beneath it.
- 47:34Speaker 1: So I think that's really interesting because I think it's it's more obvious when you've had trauma when you've had abusive parents or a household, I mean, if your dad's been an alcoholic who beat your mom.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, exactly yeah, when your parents have loved each other and they came to your football game or your whatever.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Yeah, subtler, but just as important.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it's important to recognize and go through the process so that you can reconnect and recollect all of the disparate parts and become whole, as we talked about.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we do this thing too as humans, where it's like because I had like a seemingly like really nice upbringing, that I'm like, well, it's not that bad, or you know, at least I wasn't hit, or we, we excuse our way out of you know validating our own actual experiences well, and we call it normal because it was normal for us yeah.
- 48:26Speaker 3: I mean, you know I, I lived in a.
- 48:29Speaker 3: I had one really wealthy friend and one really poor friend.
- 48:32Speaker 3: You know, I remember I, you know, came bedtime and they'd pull out the couch and literally there was a pile of little kids on the couch.
- 48:40Speaker 3: That's where they slept.
- 48:42Speaker 3: And you know this other friend who had, I think his parents had a collection of carriages in the yard and you know all of that and I was definitely not at either end.
- 48:56Speaker 3: I was definitely the middle class guy.
- 48:57Speaker 3: I was definitely the middle-class guy.
- 48:58Speaker 3: But you know, we all walked through life thinking that was normal and really whatever our childhood was like was normal to us.
- 49:08Speaker 3: You know, when you ask anybody anywhere in the world, it turns out what does a child want more than anything else?
- 49:18Speaker 3: Everybody knows it's unconditional love.
- 49:27Speaker 2: And then what will they do to get it, whatever they?
- 49:28Speaker 1: have.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Yeah, people, please be perfect, all the things that try to yeah.
- 49:32Speaker 3: So you have to ask yourself well, what did you do?
- 49:34Speaker 3: to get love as a child, because that's your program for getting love.
- 49:38Speaker 3: That's what you're still.
- 49:40Speaker 3: That's why you're still looking outside of yourself is because your program you know you're looking for.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Who do I need to be?
- 49:49Speaker 3: What do I need to do?
- 49:50Speaker 3: How should I feel?
- 49:51Speaker 3: How should I react?
- 49:52Speaker 3: You know all of those things are being gauged or answered in relationship to looking outside of yourself and you're just giving up your power and keeping your heart closed yeah, that's a big one that I've realized over the last like six months.
- 50:09Speaker 1: That's really clicked in a different way.
- 50:11Speaker 1: For me it was like that yeah, for me it's been people pleasing, just being the yes one, you know, always saying yes and always doing what everybody else wanted to, because that made me worthy, you know, and it led me into some pretty bad situations, yeah, so now I'm like no, I you know like reprogramming that it's been a journey, but I feel like I'm finally like starting to move the needle there, but yeah, that's a powerful question, I think yeah, and that's.
- 50:34Speaker 3: You know, maybe that's a mentor's job is to ask powerful questions.
- 50:38Speaker 3: I know with my most advanced folks, I mean, in our calls, it's really just kind of taking what they're doing.
- 50:47Speaker 3: It's not like they're not doing it well or you know good enough, or anything, but it's just shifting, tweaking the perception enough so that they see it from a higher level of consciousness.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Maybe that's why I love this work is all I have to do is be a little higher consciousness than anybody else.
- 51:05Speaker 1: And ask the right questions.
- 51:09Speaker 3: And that you know that supports me and you know that's my, that's my path.
- 51:13Speaker 3: So that's a much better habit than the others that I see out there.
- 51:19Speaker 3: But yeah.
- 51:23Speaker 3: I mean, I just so encourage people to take the time to fall in love with themselves and really learn to unconditionally accept and embrace all aspects of themselves, because in that wholeness, all the things they don't trust that they can do.
- 51:43Speaker 3: I mean, every time I'll ask somebody what do you really want?
- 51:48Speaker 3: And they go well, I'd like to be a CEO, but they work too hard, they this or that.
- 51:53Speaker 3: All you hear is all the limiting beliefs that sabotage them from doing what they want to do.
- 52:00Speaker 3: You know, the truth is, a conscious CEO works less.
- 52:04Speaker 3: You know, I mean, I've had people who you know run multiple organizations and that type of thing, micromanage it, and they're exhausted and that's why they come to me, because they just can't keep up and everything is starting to fall apart to me, because they just can't just keep up and everything's starting to fall apart.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Well, within months, all of a sudden they're every, they really focused on bringing out the best in everyone, and so the leadership is now much more diverse and unified and their higher intention, their common goal.
- 52:35Speaker 3: But all of a sudden they have more time and and in that more time, they get to really focus on their projects that they really, you know, their kind of dream projects that they never would have time to get to.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:49Speaker 3: So yeah it's whatever you're, you know, if you think you don't have enough money or enough time, or I'll do it when, you know I'll do it after I'm successful.
- 52:56Speaker 3: It's like no, do it when and I'll do it after I'm successful.
- 52:58Speaker 3: It's like no, do it now yeah make all the difference and how quickly you reach those levels of fulfillment and success.
- 53:07Speaker 1: I love that.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Have you heard of human design?
- 53:10Speaker 1: I've heard of it.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Okay, we're talking right now yeah, no, that's one of the modalities I use with clients, but it's just really interesting because I think the whole, the whole premise of it, or the whole purpose is to take you is to like, have your mind work for you and just move your decision-making into your body is basically, like, in a nutshell, what it is.
- 53:31Speaker 1: You know, and you know it's loosely based on the chakra system.
- 53:34Speaker 1: So you'll see, like, what look like chakras in the design.
- 53:37Speaker 1: But you know a lot of you know what we talked about today too.
- 53:40Speaker 1: It always comes back to that in my mind.
- 53:42Speaker 1: You know, I think about human design because it's like we have these areas where we are taking in energy from others, right, where, where we're being conditioned, where outside sources, where we're we're, you know, asking for other people to like make decisions.
- 53:54Speaker 1: But it's those areas that are what human design calls the not self Right, and so we're always making decisions in our um, in our unauthentic beings, right, we're making decisions from the not self right.
- 54:08Speaker 1: So, if you're not self theme is unworthiness right.
- 54:10Speaker 1: We're making decisions based on well, is this going to make me worthy or not?
- 54:13Speaker 1: You know, and it's.
- 54:14Speaker 1: It is coming back to what you do do good, right, and in that place in your body that really does give you that answer and it's just, and it's this beautiful process.
- 54:23Speaker 1: I love the system because it creates awareness and it allows you to see you know how that energetically, you know what's what's what's happening, and then it gives you like a tool to sort of like come into your body and you know breath work.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I think I love I know breath work.
- 54:36Speaker 1: I think I love I love breath work and just like being able to breathe and, like you said, like just asking a question, just breathing into it, you know, and just in feeling it or you know whatever.
- 54:45Speaker 1: So I think I'm just my mind's always on human design, but I was just curious if you had heard of it or what they're giving you is a reference point yeah, and that's and that's, that's kind of your, you know, home base, home base.
- 54:58Speaker 3: It's like, oh, I'm feeling a little off, I'll go to home base and get centered, and that'll allow me to access the best that I can get.
- 55:06Speaker 3: And it makes all the difference in the world.
- 55:09Speaker 3: You know, I see so many people out there trying to help people but they have no stability in who and what they are.
- 55:18Speaker 3: You know, I remember my work goes in cycles.
- 55:23Speaker 3: They have no stability in who and what they are.
- 55:25Speaker 3: You know, I remember my work goes in cycles.
- 55:26Speaker 3: So you know, I've been doing it for quite a long time now 45 plus years.
- 55:29Speaker 3: But I mean, I remember there was this period where I had two groups coming to me.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Most of them were therapists and a lot of them were from spiritual community and that type of thing.
- 55:39Speaker 3: But the therapists were coming to me because they recognized they couldn't help their clients in certain areas.
- 55:46Speaker 3: You know, maybe a client had a lot of anger around something, or shame or whatever the emotion might be, and they recognize oh, I haven't dealt with that deeply enough in myself to really be comfortable guiding somebody to the depths of their issues and challenges around that, and so you know, so we would go on that journey and get that healed and then they could go out and help people.
- 56:09Speaker 3: And that's really.
- 56:10Speaker 3: You know, if you really want to be of service, you have to take care of yourself, you have to heal yourself, because each level of healing, each level of self-acceptance and love, each shedding of that armor around our heart that was wisely put there as a child to protect us, which now will just end up killing us, we have to shed that armor and open ourselves to learning and growing, and that's where you're going to be successful.
- 56:43Speaker 3: If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, focus on healing yourself and becoming whole.
- 56:50Speaker 3: It really makes all the difference in the world.
- 56:52Speaker 3: Because, then you're not coming from that fear of am I enough, am I going to fail?
- 56:57Speaker 3: It's about the money, it's not about any of that.
- 57:02Speaker 3: I can't tell you how many millionaires and billionaires I've worked with that they always get to the same point around the money.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Well, that wasn't it, absolutely, wasn't it.
- 57:16Speaker 3: If I could just get enough of that, then I'll feel safe, then I'll be loved and I'll be worthy, whatever it's like.
- 57:23Speaker 1: no, no, you've got to find that in yourself and your success will come from that I have one more question for you, and I know we're getting to the top of the hour, so if you're okay to go over a little bit, um, but I would love to know where plant medicine can support us in this.
- 57:38Speaker 1: I think it's so interesting.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Yeah, you know I probably don't agree with a lot of people on that, but I find that once somebody's done healing, the inner child work and really learned to breathe, be present and take care of themselves and really love and accept themselves on a whole new level, that then they're ready to graduate into what.
- 58:07Speaker 3: I think I mentioned it, and if I didn't I apologize, but what makes a conscious leader, what really creates and maintains that level of, you know, leadership is really that mindfulness, lifestyle and significant, ongoing, significant personal transformational experiences.
- 58:25Speaker 3: And so you know, when people go through my eight-week program, that's definitely a significant personal transformational experience, but as they get into the nine-month program they're really informationally, but as they get into the nine-month program they're really.
- 58:42Speaker 3: I introduce them.
- 58:43Speaker 3: You know they come three times and each time I'm introducing them to a different medicine, generally not always, but and the point of that medicine is really because they're doing all their work, but it takes them into a level of consciousness that's beyond what they generally live in, but it is the level of consciousness that they're able to live in all the time at this point in their life.
- 59:08Speaker 3: And then they move into.
- 59:10Speaker 3: You know, they do their work and they gain and then they come again and then it's like, oh, I can play on that level now, and so it's like a guide into the next level that's available for them to play on.
- 59:23Speaker 3: And you know, I've been around it a bit so you know it's not.
- 59:29Speaker 3: I mean, I've got a friend who's been doing it for 50 some years with groups and I've watched within those groups that people you know taking the medicine and you know, 20 years later you can go to the same group and they're dealing with the same issues, the same oh, and my relationship, my, this, my that you know the people that I'm working with and this is months into the work.
- 59:52Speaker 3: They're down for like five or six hours on an inner journey, breathing, because I'm teaching them how to breathe in different ways to move them through whatever comes up.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: And, yeah, they're just quiet and it's an inner journey and it's so empowering and healing for them.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: There's no drama, there's no chaos, there's no running into things that they don't know how to deal with, excuse me.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: And so for me, medicine has its place, but it's not necessarily.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: You know, I remember the fellow who made a series and you know he's like, oh, I took it once and everything was better.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: Really, how is it that I know hundreds of people that have taken it?
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: many times and they're still not better yeah, you've still got to.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: It's a great tool it really is, but it's not the answer it's it's an answer and it's used correctly, it can really support the journey considerably you know, I didn't even get into it until I was in my mid-40s.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: So I had 35,000 hours of meditation on.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Before yeah.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: But you know I think, you know, I think people take it and they go, oh, I'll just keep doing this, I'll microdose all this, you know, and they really, oh, I'll just keep doing this, I'll microdose, and they really don't.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: What I find is that gives them the sense of the medicine is doing it for them rather than they're doing it, and they can take ownership of that accomplishment, that growth that they're going through.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, no, it's interesting, I haven't done any full journeys.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: I I have microdosed.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: I felt like it really helped me just neutralize my emotions or get a sense of like I guess that space that I can come to emotionally and sort of like not take things so seriously all the time, um, but I am of the mind just personally.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I do feel like I want to be spiritually, mentally prepared to take a journey like that, you know, and not just be like shocked.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so I know, I know it's in my path, but I haven't yet done it.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: But I'm always so curious and you know, it's just like a fascinating topic because I do think, you know, I don't know.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I heard that you know they're doing experiments or or they're, um, not yeah, maybe experimenting with, or psilocybin, but they want to extract, you know, the psychedelic and leave the plant in the sixties yeah, but I think the actual plant itself is healing, not just the psychedelic part of it, you know, and so I think to separate the two would do it an injustice, to like what it can actually do to you, or it disservice.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: So I just, yeah, it's just always an interesting topic and I just thought I would ask you know, I have a deep appreciation of the plant, as you're suggesting, and I'd love to see it used consciously you know, the more you prepare for that time, that that journey, fasting for a few days, having healed the inner child for a few months, having learned to breathe, so that you can be present with what the gifts that the plant brings you that need healing and the awareness that it can bring you to serve and support you in your life.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: It's just yeah, I mean, if you really want to find out what it's truly about, then you have to be present with it and listen to it and learn from it.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I will say one time, just like a side note story, but I, when I was microdosing, I took like 0.5 psilocybin and normally very, very little feeling, if at all.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: But this one time I had I was intermittent fasting and so I took it after like 16 hours or so of not eating.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: But I was going to work and I got to work and I was like this is not a microdose at this point.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: But I felt like I wasn't present, right because I was moving through my day and it was just kind of like calling my attention where I should have done that more in like meditation or something.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: But I was just trying to like I misused it.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I guess in that instance that was a big lesson of like.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: A learning opportunity.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, I didn't do that again, but it is powerful.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I just watched too much drama around it and everybody, oh, you know this story and that story and they kind of take pride in their stories about how terrible things were or something.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: You know, and yeah, if used properly, under the right conditions, it's just an extraordinary experience.
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: You know God speaks into who and what they are I'm excited to experience that someday give me a call, yeah well.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Thank you so much for coming on and sharing all of this.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: It's been a beautiful conversation.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: I think it's really going to help the listeners and if you want to leave them with one final tip and just like how they can find you and how they can work with you, yeah, I think the easiest is just go to my website, ronstotscom, and there's all sorts of free things that they can use to begin their inner journey, and I've got a breathing and success 30-day program that hardly costs anything the fact that three modules are free but just yeah, go there and explore and see what works for you, what would be helpful for you.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: Get on a discovery call with me whenever you're ready and we'll take a look at where you are and what you need, and what you need and what you need to do to get there yeah and breathe and breathe yeah, well, thank you so much I enjoyed it very much and thank you everybody for listening and you be well, take care of yourself, okay, bye, okay, okay, bye-bye.
