- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to chasonnew Land dot com. My name
- 0:10Speaker 1: is Chasing new Land. Yes it really is.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Ah, this is.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Whisper Thursday. I don't know why. Don't ask me why,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but that's what this is. For some reason. Just go
- 0:45Speaker 1: out of bed and I'm making a recording. I don't
- 0:51Speaker 1: know why. Don't ask me why. I'm just doing it.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Believe is onlyly listening when you can safely close your eyes.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I don't know if my voice is still a bit croaky,
- 1:16Speaker 1: it might be. I think today is Thursday, the thirtieth
- 1:26Speaker 1: of July twoenty twenty five. Listens to thirty first one
- 1:46Speaker 1: of them. It's the last day of July twenty twenty nine.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Ye if it is, say the latest the latest. His
- 2:12Speaker 1: uncle Sausages has been officially moved into a nursing home, and,
- 2:21Speaker 1: according to another visitor, revis is a lovely place and
- 2:30Speaker 1: the staff for great so depending upon COVID results, when
- 2:41Speaker 1: I do a COVID test later today, I'm going to
- 2:47Speaker 1: go up and see him. That would be weird. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: still can't come head around the fact that last time
- 3:02Speaker 1: I saw him he was chatty. Okay, he was right,
- 3:09Speaker 1: he wasn't his normal chatty self. He hasn't been like
- 3:12Speaker 1: that for a while. But he was still talking and
- 3:16Speaker 1: he was still had energy, and he's you know, and
- 3:20Speaker 1: now he's nothing. He's just asleep. So I've not seen
- 3:33Speaker 1: that version of him, but than when I did. I
- 3:41Speaker 1: did see him asleep, but that was weird because he's
- 3:49Speaker 1: he's the biggest chatterbox you'll ever meet. It's very strange
- 3:56Speaker 1: to see someone that vocal that quiet, very unusual. Indeed,
- 4:22Speaker 1: I had some strange dreams. I said, this boxing gathering
- 4:31Speaker 1: and it was full of boxes and me. I don't
- 4:38Speaker 1: even know why I was there, but it was very
- 4:46Speaker 1: very alpha male behavior. So it's I was kind of
- 4:55Speaker 1: out out of place, as it were, because I don't
- 5:01Speaker 1: think I've had any testosterone in my body. For that
- 5:05Speaker 1: sounds wrong, doesn't it. I mean, I don't. I don't
- 5:08Speaker 1: think I've got any, but I think there is any
- 5:12Speaker 1: disosterone in me. I think they used to be when
- 5:21Speaker 1: I was younger. But but technically, if I'm going bold in,
- 5:31Speaker 1: if I'm if my hairs or receding, this isn't now
- 5:34Speaker 1: signed tim like a really ferile I don't know. In
- 5:49Speaker 1: my case, no no new new new. Yeah, yesterday I
- 6:07Speaker 1: spent a few hours died in through uncle sausages flat,
- 6:14Speaker 1: putting stuff into bags, and the Council of now taking
- 6:24Speaker 1: hold of the flat, and I'm trying to find any
- 6:27Speaker 1: of his personal items, you know, like pictures and things
- 6:32Speaker 1: like that, photographs, anything that might mean something to him,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and just you know, finding that stuff before the council
- 6:50Speaker 1: come in and just destroy everything, which is what they're
- 6:54Speaker 1: gonna do. But why I've done in in the process
- 7:00Speaker 1: is I've made the council's job really easy because at
- 7:12Speaker 1: least probably sixty of these belongings are now all backed up,
- 7:26Speaker 1: all stuff they can chug out that they can check
- 7:29Speaker 1: out all backed up. So if I chucked out, I
- 7:36Speaker 1: put stuff on you know, outside, and I've also filled
- 7:40Speaker 1: his kitchen with stuff. I think, I think yesterday because
- 7:56Speaker 1: his other next a kin asks me to find a
- 8:02Speaker 1: couple of personal letters with some information on that she needed.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So I did that and I took a photocopy. Well,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I took a photograph and I sent it to her.
- 8:15Speaker 1: So once I was in there, I thought, maybe I'll
- 8:18Speaker 1: just get on with this and get a bit more done.
- 8:25Speaker 1: And I don't know, I think I think I was
- 8:41Speaker 1: starting to enjoy doing it. For some reason. Perhaps it
- 8:52Speaker 1: was the focus because I need to didy at my
- 8:57Speaker 1: own home tonight. It's not like that, but is still
- 9:03Speaker 1: it's getting over crowded in it. I need to just
- 9:11Speaker 1: stub a little tidy up. I'm definitely moving towards the
- 9:18Speaker 1: idea of minimimalism. Minimalist pretty much owning, no belongings apart
- 9:36Speaker 1: from maybe just a TV on the wall. I said,
- 9:43Speaker 1: it's a close as well. So I've got these books,
- 9:58Speaker 1: I don't have much belonging. It's really Oh yes, it's
- 10:03Speaker 1: a funny thing. I've got the alert from PIB, which
- 10:10Speaker 1: is a personal independence payment uh benefits, so they review
- 10:16Speaker 1: in me. So I'll have to go through that now, Yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 1: which should be uh might mean o wow. We'll say
- 10:30Speaker 1: what it means. So the old saying is that when
- 10:43Speaker 1: one told it flushes, a number one needs flushing. I
- 10:49Speaker 1: don't know what that means.
- 10:54Speaker 2: See.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Uh, Finny jumped up when I woke up this morning,
- 11:09Speaker 1: well about twenty minutes ago, jumped up. I thought he
- 11:15Speaker 1: must be hungry. There's a couple of food. Nope, not
- 11:19Speaker 1: interested in food. He's just lying next to me a
- 11:23Speaker 1: sleep or listening. Probably yeah, he's listening one of his ears,
- 11:30Speaker 1: he smoked, right up, Are you listening, Finny, Yes, he's listening.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I had someone knock on my door at nine o'clock
- 11:45Speaker 1: last night, and I went a bit about eight. I
- 11:49Speaker 1: had an early night. I just just had to someone
- 11:55Speaker 1: knocked on my door at nine o'clock. That's so. Then
- 12:01Speaker 1: he started barking. So I didn't just press the doorbell,
- 12:06Speaker 1: which I wouldn't have heard. They had to knock loudly
- 12:11Speaker 1: as well. So I come out of my bedroom on
- 12:17Speaker 1: a show and said, and it was one of my neighbors,
- 12:22Speaker 1: not not local neighbors, but someone lives around the corner.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I said, jo want I said, I'm in bed. As
- 12:32Speaker 1: far as I can say, that's enough. If I said
- 12:35Speaker 1: I'm in bed, then they she said, okay, never mind
- 12:37Speaker 1: buy But came question, why you're in bed? What the
- 12:46Speaker 1: what's it? Can't do with you? Why I'm in bed.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I'm an adult. I've chosen to go to bed. I
- 12:51Speaker 1: do not answer to you. I'm in bed. Are you
- 13:00Speaker 1: gonna answer the door? You can open the door. I've
- 13:03Speaker 1: got COVID. Oh you still got that?
- 13:09Speaker 2: Have you?
- 13:11Speaker 1: Yeah? Because I just told you I got it?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Why I said I'm.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Going back to bed now. And then Finny would not
- 13:25Speaker 1: leave the front door because he wanted to go and
- 13:30Speaker 1: say he lod to the person who was out on
- 13:31Speaker 1: the other side. I said, Benny, come on and come on,
- 13:35Speaker 1: and he comnaored me. He literally super glued his feet
- 13:41Speaker 1: to the floor in the front door. So I'm like
- 13:46Speaker 1: raising my voice a come on, Vinny, and the neighbors
- 13:49Speaker 1: starts talking to me. What's that because she must hear
- 13:54Speaker 1: me say come on, no from talking to the door.
- 14:07Speaker 1: This is what you do him bothering me. I'm a
- 14:13Speaker 1: little bit grumpy when I'm in bed if I'm disturbed,
- 14:20Speaker 1: which is most of the time, to be fair, but
- 14:22Speaker 1: it's usually just because Vinnie hears something and starts barking.
- 14:30Speaker 1: For example, there's this cat and someone thought it would
- 14:35Speaker 1: be a really good idea. The owner of the cat
- 14:39Speaker 1: owner may, yeah, I'm pretty sure they thought he'd be
- 14:42Speaker 1: really clever, really funny, and really, I don't know, super
- 14:50Speaker 1: inteligent to buy a little bell. So it's it's a
- 14:55Speaker 1: little little bell on it on their collar, on his
- 15:00Speaker 1: cat's color. It's very faint. I can hardly hear it.
- 15:05Speaker 1: But Vinny goes at Natty every time that cat walks
- 15:10Speaker 1: in the garden. It's like cute pass through you are.
- 15:25Speaker 1: They don't think, they don't think, oh, look a lovely
- 15:31Speaker 1: little bell. I mean maybe if you're right close to
- 15:36Speaker 1: it you can hear it quite loudly. I don't know.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But this one here is a mile away and he
- 15:45Speaker 1: goes bananas. Don't really a lie I can do about it,
- 16:01Speaker 1: except moan not really been concentrating on anything lately, you know,
- 16:26Speaker 1: just skipping through TV. Not necessarily. Yeah, my focus has
- 16:39Speaker 1: been a little bit, a little bit wobbly, my mental focus,
- 16:58Speaker 1: I'll be honest. This part of me, there's a large
- 17:07Speaker 1: part of me that just does not want to go
- 17:09Speaker 1: and visit Uncle's sausages because I don't want to see
- 17:14Speaker 1: him like that. But I also know that I need to.
- 17:31Speaker 1: It's important to do it, and I do wanna visit,
- 17:40Speaker 1: and I do want to see him, and I don't know,
- 17:43Speaker 1: hold his hand and maybe you know the fairy I've
- 17:51Speaker 1: read in theory that hearing is the last thing that
- 17:56Speaker 1: goes so although he's got his eyes cove dick and
- 18:00Speaker 1: still hear me. But just thinking if the roles were
- 18:25Speaker 1: reversed and I was there with my eyes closed, not
- 18:31Speaker 1: able to really do anything. And he was my visitor,
- 18:36Speaker 1: and he was talking NonStop about sport. I'd be wishing
- 18:43Speaker 1: for my hearing to stop. Wow, I'd be shouting internally,
- 18:53Speaker 1: shot trying to sleep. I think I just had a
- 19:07Speaker 1: squirrel sneeze. How strange. By the way, I'm not going
- 19:16Speaker 1: to be doing these well. I've got no plan of
- 19:20Speaker 1: doing these whisper daily things. I don't even know what
- 19:27Speaker 1: I'm doing one today. All I know is I.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Am I Am, Mayam, may Am.
- 19:48Speaker 1: It's very peaceful. It is early in the morning, it's
- 19:56Speaker 1: about twenty to four, but then I went to be
- 20:00Speaker 1: at eight, so it's not really you.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Know that early.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I spent most of the day in bed, as I
- 20:10Speaker 1: have done for the last week, a lot of time asleep.
- 20:21Speaker 1: But last night I was just agitated. I didn't want
- 20:27Speaker 1: to be in bed. But what did I want to do?
- 20:31Speaker 1: I don't know. I've only been making one recording the
- 20:51Speaker 1: last three times I've made not the last two times. Rather,
- 20:56Speaker 1: i've made himly recorded. I've just done one version, which
- 21:00Speaker 1: is without music, and that's a temporary thing. It's just
- 21:15Speaker 1: because I can't. I don't know. It might be laziness,
- 21:28Speaker 1: lack of motivation. It could be anything, but once the
- 21:38Speaker 1: recording's done, much rather someone else do everything else, rather
- 21:50Speaker 1: than me having to edit it and then do different
- 21:56Speaker 1: versions and make it an image and blah blah blah
- 22:06Speaker 1: and over to an assistant. That would be nice. I
- 22:18Speaker 1: could hand over to an AI system, but then there'd
- 22:22Speaker 1: be no gaps in speaking.
- 22:26Speaker 4: It would just be parallel, which means it will no
- 22:39Speaker 4: longer sound a human, or I will no longer sound
- 22:44Speaker 4: a human.
- 22:51Speaker 1: And that's our lot of videos and podcasts and stuff
- 22:56Speaker 1: are done. They edited automatically, so they don't personally really
- 23:03Speaker 1: doesn't have to do much at all. But I just
- 23:11Speaker 1: think that's the difference between what I do and what
- 23:17Speaker 1: others do is okay, I don't. I lost my train
- 23:35Speaker 1: of thought that I don't know what for the difference
- 23:39Speaker 1: is what other people do is good and more popular.
- 23:49Speaker 1: What I do is I don't know. I don't even
- 23:53Speaker 1: know what I do anymore. These recordings used to be
- 24:03Speaker 1: about hypnosis and helping meet people with chronic pain or
- 24:10Speaker 1: with anxiety or sleeping or things like that. I'm not
- 24:22Speaker 1: quite sure what's happened to them. It's just ended up
- 24:26Speaker 1: being like a an audio diary. H I think that
- 24:51Speaker 1: this last six weeks, I don't think. I know. The
- 24:58Speaker 1: last six weeks I had quite a profound effect on me.
- 25:10Speaker 1: It's really got me thinking, got me thinking about my future.
- 25:29Speaker 1: It's got me thinking about my present as well. How
- 25:33Speaker 1: am I living my life? Do I want to live
- 25:36Speaker 1: my life this way? Am I wasting my time? Which
- 25:48Speaker 1: is just such a wrong thing to do, I believe,
- 25:55Speaker 1: just to waste wasting my ear? What am I not
- 26:05Speaker 1: doing that I could do? What am I doing that
- 26:09Speaker 1: I shouldn't be doing? What am I doing that's worthwhile?
- 26:27Speaker 1: What am I doing that's meaningful? What am I doing
- 26:37Speaker 1: now that's going to affect my future life both positively
- 26:44Speaker 1: and negatively? How long do I have? And I don't
- 27:01Speaker 1: mean that negatively, it just realistically and what do what
- 27:15Speaker 1: do I want to do at that time? So yeah,
- 27:40Speaker 1: it just caught me thinking.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Hm m m.
- 27:54Speaker 1: What changes are required for need to move forward in
- 28:01Speaker 1: a way? That doesn't mean that I'm just repeating my behavior.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I don't know. I still want to make a difference,
- 29:06Speaker 1: make a change. I still want to help people. But
- 29:23Speaker 1: I started to wonder what about myself? M hm H
- 29:55Speaker 1: Do I want to still be living this lifestyle where
- 30:02Speaker 1: I have to save up if I wanna get myself
- 30:07Speaker 1: some new classes, I have to save up. If I
- 30:11Speaker 1: want to go to the dentist, or if I want
- 30:16Speaker 1: to take Viny to the veat nothing there in an emergency.
- 30:31Speaker 1: You know. It's just is that what I want more of?
- 30:43Speaker 1: Do I want to still be looking at these walls
- 30:47Speaker 1: in ten years time? I don't know. Christs questions, questions,
- 32:30Speaker 1: M this is very meditative me sitting here with my
- 32:40Speaker 1: eyes closed, focusing on the silence, the temperature of the.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Room, becomness.
- 34:40Speaker 1: This is certain sense of clarity I have when I
- 34:48Speaker 1: just go out bed if I'm not tired, which I'm not.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I'm not saying that I couldn't go back to sleep,
- 35:09Speaker 1: because I could quite easily. But I'm not tired in
- 35:20Speaker 1: a way that I would be if I had only
- 35:25Speaker 1: had a couple of hours sleep and I was trying
- 35:28Speaker 1: to force myself to be awake for whatever reason. Then
- 35:34Speaker 1: I kept drifting off mid sentence. Yeah, and I can't
- 36:52Speaker 1: make myself some ready breack for breakfast.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm gonna go.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Thank you for listening. Remember to be kind to yourself
- 37:45Speaker 1: because you do deserve to be happy, be gentle with yourself.
- 37:54Speaker 1: You deserved to feel safe. Lots of of
- 38:07Speaker 5: Bye,
