- Shaun: Yeah, we get to the third quarter. and I am like, you know what? I think it's me. I think I I am the problem right now. Jen: And the bad luck. Barry: So you are superstitious. You ain't a little stitious You're superstitious when it comes to sports. Shaun: I'm a little stitous I'm like I'm like Michael Scott. Barry: But Jen: Can I poke at y'all a little bit? Barry: Sure. Shaun: Sure. Jen: Why do you think women's sports aren't as entertaining as men's sports? Barry: I would c I would give my two weeks tomorrow. I would. I'm still I'm not gonna be an Shaun: You no longer have to work. Two weeks. You're giving a two week. Jen: I that is a tough one. Barry: a-hole. I'd still wanna keep good relationships with people. Shaun: Yeah, All right, everybody. Welcome back to Bald Enough to Say It, episode number 16. Actually, Happy National. What is it? Bald is Beautiful Day, I think is what it's called. That is today. Shoulda should have thrown the bald cap on for today. Missed my opportunity. Thanks. Not clearly. Clearly. Barry: Good to know. Like a facts, facts. Shaun: You you were clearly bringing up the attractiveness scale of our show. So Barry: No, you are. That's definitely. Jen: I'm clearly dragging it down. Shaun: not at all. Shaun: be a little bit more easy. Convenience. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: It's just kind of the way of the world right now. I mean, so why not just make Barry: Both show. Shaun: it more convenient? But as Jen: Mm. Shaun: we normally do. Our weeks. How's it been going for you and Jen? You wanna kick us off? How's your week been, ma'am? Jen: Sure. I feel like this last week is like a marathon. And that I'm still kinda running. But it was good. Just, you know, life and work has been kind of crazy lately. I feel like I've been in catch-up mode for the last month. but yeah, this weekend was kickoff for soccer season. So Lincoln had his first game. Kenny's coaching again this year, and happy to say they Barry: They sucker you into that bro. They can just get ya. Jen: They really do. But Kenny didn't coach for the first time last season because he was like, you know, with sorry. He was like, you know, with schedules and with work and stuff like that. let's just not this season. And it was basically like torture for him because Lincoln got put on another team with a different coach that just wasn't of doing any type of development at Shaun: that sucks. Jen: all. And he was like, We're wasting our time and money. Like, yes, he's not maybe not full wasting 'cause he's still going out and he's playing the game and having fun. But Shaun: Yeah. Jen: He wasn't really learning anything. So he decided to join and coach again. And the game went super well. All of the kids, I'm so excited for the season because they were so responsive to him. Cause you know, especially at their age, you just don't know what kind of group of kids you're gonna get because it's different almost every single season. but they were all really responsive. They crushed it, they were passing like crazy, which is just great at their age. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: But yeah, they crushed it. They won the game and it was a really fun time. So it is co-ed. It Barry: Is it Coet or all boys? It is co-ed Jen: is co although I will say they don't have a lot of f girl players in the league. Last season they had one team that was all girls and it was kind of controversial because it's not supposed to be like all one Shaun: Uh-huh. Jen: gender. It's supposed to be mixed. And so they wanted to mix them up because they were losing a lot. but all of the parents said no, that the girls just really liked being there and stuff. So they ended up leaving it that way. But Barry: Interesting. Jen: but it is co ed. They have a a girl on their team. and honestly, she's crushing it. She was out there keeping up with all of them boys. So yeah. Shaun: So how does that work? Is there like a draft, or do you just like sign them up for a specific team or do we tr I feel like we Barry: Drafting them, bro. Jen: Yeah. I know we don't rap. Shaun: drafted when when we were kids? I feel like we had a draft, like we had picks. Jen: Mm-mm. No, I kind of wish that we would do that, especially for the Barry: Never got Jen: people that stay season to season, but no. Yeah. No. Barry: Y'all about y'all crazy, bro. Y'all putting pressure on these kids if you drafting them. Shaun: Why why? Jen: The coordinator of the whole league, like you submit your registration. You can, but that doesn't Barry: Can you request like to be on certain teams? Yeah. Jen: guarantee you your spot. So you can request Shaun: Mm. Jen: a specific coach, but it doesn't guarantee that you'll be with that coach. Mm-hmm. Barry: how they would do it in the Bronfolds. You could request a play with like certain players and they would try and accommodate Jen: Yeah. Barry: more times than not. Jen: Yeah. All the codes show up. Clickboards. Yeah, no. Shaun: Man, just do a draft. Just do a draft. Have the the kids aren't there. Yeah. It's just like the coaches, just the coaches Barry: Yo No bro No bro Shaun: closed meeting. Barry: You gonna get these kids mental problems with that stuff Why they get picked last Why did I get picked last dad? Yes they do Yeah they do Jen: No. Shaun: No, they d how? No. They don't know the kids don't know. The kids aren't actually there. Jen: Yeah. But yeah they I mean Shaun: my god. No. Jen: They'd find out. Yeah. I will say that's the hardest part Barry: It'll get out. People parents are just as petty as these kids, bro. They'll be out here talking. Shaun: How would they That's why the parents aren't there, just coaches. Jen: of coaching and being the coach's wife is just managing the parents' emotions. The kids Shaun: Yeah. Jen: are great and hardly ever an issue. It's Barry: It's nah. Jen: mainly the parents. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Because adults suck, that's why Jen: Adults think that they're adults, but they act like children. So makes it tricky. But Barry: A lot of times we do. Yeah. No. Shaun: Yeah. We see that a lot. Yeah. Jen: I mean, that was really our weekend getting established with that, having the first game. going out to celebrate afterwards. They only practice once a week on Tuesdays. Barry: How much do I practice? okay. Jen: And then they have games every weekend. So And they got that dub, Shaun: Okay. And then got that dub. So I mean, you know. Barry: Getting the dub helps. Jen: so it's fine. Shaun: Yeah. So Barry: For sure. Shaun: what's up? Barry: Way to go. Congrats, Kenny and Little Watsons. How'd y'all how'd y'all finagle that? Jen: Yeah. Yay. And they're Team USA this time, so they're they're all assigned countries and we're team USA this season. So I don't know. Shaun: They're signed countries, right? Jen: I don't know. But Shaun: Hmm. That's I don't know that I've ever heard team countries. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: I've never heard of that one either. Usually you just pick a name, like whatever Jen: Yeah, yeah. Mm mm. No, they assign a country. Barry: name. I've we've been many a thing. The dolphins, the fairies, all kinds of we were the golden girls one year. We I mean. So Jen: I'm kinda glad they don't. That's really funny. I kinda wish Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: I was a part of that team. Yeah. Shaun: Right. Barry: No more s no more sports like that for us, but yeah. We used to pick all kinds of names. Jen: Yeah. That's really funny. No, they assign and it's countries. So Shaun: Yeah, that's dope. That's awesome. Jen: yeah. Go USA. Barry: Team USA. Shaun: USI. US type Barry: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: That sums up my weekend. Shaun: Jen I've been meaning to ask you, how's the tortoise? I haven't heard anything about the tortoise. Yeah? Jen: He's so good, Theo. We actually just weighed Barry: Leo Jen: him and he was and now I can't even remember. He's still really small for his tortoise, but he's gained like three ounces in the last few weeks, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it is. Yeah. He loves kale. Kale and butternut Barry: All that kale, bro. You getting all that kale, getting down on it. Shaun: Very why are you laughing? Jen: squash, specifically the he is a prima donna. Like he is just ridiculous sometimes. But he really likes his favorite is the cut up organics, H E B organics butternut squash, the little package. Because he munches that. And then sometimes when he's angry because Barry: Yo. Wha how would he know that he likes that? Why did y'all even ever get? Yo. Shaun: Goodness. Jen: he hasn't had it in a while, he'll just stop eating the rest of his food. He just stops eating. I'm not joking. Barry: Yo, he would out he would not out wait me. I'd be still throwing kale out there every week, bro. You ain't getting no butternut squash organic cubes. Jen: He still loves it. He still likes his kale. But boy goes ham on those butternut squash. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah, why does it have to be organic? Have you all tried the inorganic ones? And he just like doesn't vibe with it. He's like, Nah, this ain't it. Right. He's like, I need my butternut squash gluten free. What are we doing? Jen: No. Honestly, it was me being lazy. No. That piece was just me being lazy because I Barry: I know this ain't that organicness, yo. Give me the good shit. I need that butternut, Jen: don't want to have to cut it up. So I got the organic ones because they're cut up. No. Barry: right? I need it I need it seared on one side. I need it nice and just crispy. Jen: No. We're I'm not that accommodating. I I liked those ones because they were cut up and I didn't have to pre cut them. Barry: So y'all more accommodated me. you bought pre-cut. Jen: Yes. Yeah. They're like in the package, all pre cut into small squares. Shaun: Dang. Theo eats better than I do, my God. Goodness. Jen: So I don't have to do the extra effort of actually cutting it up for him. Barry: So I'm gonna say Theo here eating real well. Jen: But no, he's good. Barry: Good for Theo. Jen: I'll have to send you guys an update picture or video. Barry: Okay, so what happens in the winter? Shaun: Still. Jen: We actually were just looking at all of the supplies. But he's still his Barry: I mean, we ain't anywhere close to cold weather, but I'm just thinking 'cause we're getting closer to it. Shaun: Few months, yeah. Jen: his habitat has to stay around like between 70 and 80 degrees is like perfect for him. Barry: I gotta get heat lamps or what? Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm-hmm. So we're gonna have to honestly he's getting he has this one cave. So there's like three different little cave things in his setup. Barry: He's got multiple homes. Shaun: He has an enclosure. Jen: Yes, he has an e where do you think he stays? Barry: No, I mean I get he has one, but he has more you said Shaun: No. Barry: caves plural. Jen: Yeah, just a little little cave thing that you can put in as Barry: Yo, Theo's out here living it up, bro. He's getting Shaun: Okay, hold on. How big is Theo? Barry: butternut squashed, cubed, Jen: Theo's he's probably like Barry: three homes. He got choices, bro. Nah, he's probably what, like a No, he's not a ginormous tortoise. No. Like when he's a hundred, I mean when we're gone. Shaun: Okay, okay. That's that's more reasonable. I don't know like when I imagine a tortoise, I'm thinking like at at minimum like this big. Okay. Jen: He's like maybe my hands put together. No, he will get that big, but not for a long time. He's br he's a baby. Shaun: Well no, no, no. No, I know, but I I Jen: He's like a year old. Shaun: feel like grown tortoise are massive. I thought like like maybe like this big. Barry: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Jen: no they do. They they can get up to like sixty pounds. Shaun: Like a I thought maybe like the size of a basketball, like a little bit bigger than a basketball or something, is what I was envisioning. Jen: No, no, he's like, dang. Barry: He's more like a yo, it is strong today. Jen: Sorry. Shaun: That's spring. TikTok shop, baby. Jen: Sponsored by TikTok Shop. Barry: he's probably like a volleyball size, right? Shaun: I would no we're not. Jen: He's literally like about the size of both my hands put together. Barry: He's probably like the size of a volleyball, Shaun: Okay. Barry: Shaun. A little smaller than a basketball. Jen: Probably a little smaller still. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah. Shaun: It's always a little twig, a little punk. All right. Gotcha. Jen: He's doing great. Thanks for asking. No. No. No. Although Barry: Does he eat protein at all? None. Not even bugs. Really? Jen: we do have a garden lizard that has been hanging around for quite a long time. And the other day I went out to feed him and he was like sitting on top of his thing. And Theo was like looking up at him. So I'm thinking they're best friends now. so he has a friend Barry: Y'all about to name the garden gecko. Jen: he may already have a name. His name is George. But yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Garden gecko George Barry: Theodore and George. George and Theo, huh? Jen: But no, he doesn't eat any protein. Even fruits. He doesn't really get fruit. He only gets fruits sometimes. So we'll give him like some blueberries or strawberries every now and then as like a treat. But he can't have too many. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Interesting. Okay. Jen: But no, he's doing great. Shaun: Dope. Well, shout out Theo. I'm glad that he's doing well. That's awesome. Jen: Yeah. Shout out Theo. Shaun: Barry, how about you, Dole? Barry: I wasn't as busy Jen: Yeah. Barry: as the previous show. my god. Yo, I wish the listeners could really hear what we hear. It's so funny. I know. I'd have to figure it out. It's yo, she's on it tonight. Jen: I'm just gonna keep my hands to my side, like we're in kindergarten, hands behind your back. Shaun: I wish there was a way that we could get that audio in there. Gosh. It's like a recurring thing. Jen: I know. I'm kind of glad that it's not because I would ruin so many takes. Barry: Tuesday we had meet the teacher at the middle school with our younger one. Jen: Fun, how was that? Barry: I mean, I try Jen: no Barry: and be I try and be excited, but we just go walk her schedule. I mean, it's cool to meet teachers. Yeah, and I hated it. I didn't want to be there, so I know they probably didn't want to be there to meet me. So yeah, I was Shaun: I mean you used to be on the other side of it, you don't Jen: Yeah. So get me out of here. Barry: boy I was like, why do I need to come? But no. No, it went well. I mean we we said hi to to all the teachers. I knew a couple and I said hi to a couple of my ex coworkers. Jen: Yeah, 'cause weren't you middle school? Barry: I worked at that middle school, yeah. Shaun: Your old stomping grounds. Barry: Yep, Sweissakes. It is. no, I just don't think about that part of my life. Jen: Flashbacks. Well, I guess your oldest was just there, so Barry: Yeah. Nah, I Shaun: Yeah. Barry: mean, yeah, I don't know. I guess I don't look back. I don't I would never go back. Jen: I was about to say, if you haven't picked up on it in the episodes before this, he does not miss it at all. You could never put him back in that situation. Barry: Sorry, not that I don't appreciate teachers, y'all. I'll y'all have my Shaun: He he never gonna be a teacher again. Barry: respect and my love and my prayers and all those things cause y'all need Yo, Shaun: Mm. Jen: All the thoughts and prayers. Barry: out here underappreciated, underpaid, and just overworked. Like that's just every teacher. Jen: Mm preach. Mm. Especially here in Texas. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: Especially in Texas. Yes, sir. Cause they do it. They do it every year. Shaun: Expected to do everything with nothing. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm. Barry: That's they are miracle workers for real, for real. But Jen: For real. Barry: So again I try and be respectful and I try and be present, but Jen: Mm. Barry: I don't know. It's just always like Jen: I'm sure it gets hard too once your kid is in middle school or high school where they have multiple, multiple teachers. Cause even yeah. Barry: It's a big transition. Our youngest Shaun: Mm. Barry: is definitely not a f well, she's growing accustomed to it, but she was not a fan of the thought of what she was going Jen: Multiple. Barry: to have to do. Shaun: No. Barry: And it's been a learning curve for her. Like there's a lot Jen: Yeah. Barry: more of us. It's a big just a big unfortunately and it's not a shot at teachers. It's just I think the way this elementary system is, they don't really prepare them for middle school. Like it's Jen: Yeah. Barry: They're still walking in lines as a class in elementary, even Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: up through fifth grade, and then yo, they just get loose sixth grade. Just like Jen: Go out. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: you gotta figure it out. And that was her. She like, I'm gonna get lost, no way's gonna I like, Yo, there's gonna Jen: Yeah. Barry: be people, your friends, like nobody's just gonna let you like wander off to a part of school that you're not supposed to be, or like just not say anything. So Jen: They might. Shaun: Feel I feel like that's life though, isn't it? Like I feel like every late like every level, like you get less and less direction. Yeah. Barry: It is, and that's what I'm saying. These are this is where you start to learn new skills, yeah, and have more Jen: Yeah. Turn you over. Yeah. Barry: responsibility. So it is stressful for her. Yo, I loved middle and high school. No, I was cool. Jen: Yeah. I don't know though. I feel like I hated middle school. Well, I don't know. What was y'all's experience? I hated middle school. I felt like they pushed so much. I feel like middle school was harder than high school because they at least Barry: Really? Jen: my experience, they were like, We're prep, we're preparing you for high school. We're preparing you for high school. And they just slammed Barry: Hm. I mean I remember that, but Jen: us with work and homework and like it was insane. I just remember middle school being so difficult. Barry: Homework is definitely an adjustment for the little one. 'Cause in elementary elementary they never had middle s they had they Jen: And then going to high school and being like, This is the easiest thing ever. Ain't nobody assigning me homework. Barry: had no homework prior to that. Like she never really came home with homework in elementary. But yeah, now Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: every night mass, she got homework. So we're trying to build that routine. Yo, you come home, Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Y'all are good kids. Barry: you get that done, we ain't doing nothing else. So it's been a little bit of a transition. Jen: Yeah. It's definitely a shock. Mm-hmm. Barry: She's she's learning for sure. So Jen: Well, she's got two amazing parents that were also teachers and know how to build that up. Barry: Yeah, and I mean, I will always support a teacher. I'm not that parent that's gonna be Shaun: She's got one amazing parent in Barry. Barry: what? Shaun: I said she's got one amazing parent in Barry. I'm joking. Barry: Damn. Jen: Shots fired. my god. Barry: No. I know I'm a good parent. No, I know. Shaun: I'm joking. Yes, you are. Jen: You are a good parent, Mary. Don't listen to him. Barry: shoot, what was I even saying? I don't even know now. Shaun: B my bad. Jen: Shaun, we didn't knock his hamster Barry: I think I was talking about Jen: off the wheel. Barry: I don't remember. Shaun: Hamster was tired anyway. Barry: It's always tired, bro. It's always tired. Jen: Here's a Barry: But no, she's Jen: It's too funny. Barry: just learning, bro. She's learning the the expectations of Jen: Yeah. Barry: and the responsibility of it. So Shaun: Yeah. Barry: she had a little I forget it was a Friday. She came up, she was like, Dad, I didn't know what to do with my quiz. So I just brought it home. I was like, yo, you can't do that. Like you gotta ask. Jen: You gotta Boo. Barry: that's what it was. I like, I'm never gonna be one of them parents that just like thinks my kid never messes up. I think we talked about like, yo, Jen: for sure. Barry: my kids lie to me all the time. Why do you think that why wouldn't I Jen: Mm. Barry: think that they lied to me any other time when they're trying to cover their ass? Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: So she came Jen: Yeah. Barry: home, we had a little thing. The teacher was super nice. So she was very understanding. And I was like, I sent it so now you can like they have all these different apps that you use to communicate with the teachers. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: We use Parents Square, I believe. I hate it 'cause Jen: Mm. We use seesaw. Barry: I don't we used to use Seesaw, now they use Parents Square. But I messaged the teacher and I was like, yo, here's a picture of her quiz. She hasn't done anything. Can you take it? And she she did. But and you know, the schools are so like just forgiving. Like she got to do corrections and get a passing grade and she probably shouldn't have got a passing grade. But that's just that's how all the schools are. It's not even the teachers, Jen: Mm-hmm. Well, that's my thought too. Yeah. Shaun: Mm. Barry: like the districts pushed people to be like that. So Jen: But that's, I feel like, how we've gotten to the part that even at this conference we that I went to recently, we talked about it. Like so many adults in America nowadays are illiterate. Yes, they're illiterate. They are reading at like a sixth grade reading Barry: They've never had consequences, bro. Yeah, because they were pushed along. Yeah. Jen: level when most like business material and things like that are written in like an eighth grade reading level. Most people can only read at a sixth grade reading level. And I feel like that's the reason is because in our schools, it's more about Barry: Everybody gets pushed along. Jen: Testing results, pushing them on so you can keep the funding. Exactly. And so again, bless teachers for doing what they do and trying Barry: It's just about grades and having good grades and p and passing. Having graduate rates. Mm-hmm. Yep. Jen: their hardest with what they're given, because I am always on the teacher side. But Barry: That's what I'm saying. Jen: a hundred percent they're just being pushed to work with the kids and just Barry: No. Jen: get them enough to keep going. And I'm like, that that's not that's not teaching them anything. And that's how we've gotten to the point. Yeah, Barry: yeah, I saw it. Especially no. No. That's just pushing them along and passing off. Jen: exactly. Barry: No. Kids Jen: Mm. Barry: don't fail anymore, man. Unfortunately. Jen: Not really. Barry: They just keep going. So Shaun: All you have to do is participate and you're good. Barry: it. So no, but that's the thing is we're telling Jen: Mm. Stop participating. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: our young one is like, yeah, now's the time you have to you have to advocate for yourself. Like if you have a question, you have to ask it. I'm not gonna be the one that messages her when you don't understand like you have to stop Jen: Yeah. Barry: and she's very timid when it comes to having those conversations that she does want to have. So it'll be a growing process for sure. Jen: Yeah. Barry: But it's yeah. And then Try to think. I don't think we did anything the rest of the week. Oldest finished Jen: Sounds magical. Barry: up her last two days at Schlitterbahn. So she's officially Jen: Mm. Barry: got her first season under her belt. Yo sh Shaun: I Jen: That was our first job, right? Barry: yeah. She's got like eighteen hundred in the bank, bro. Saved saved. Yo. She's doing big things out here, bro. Jen: Hey, there you go, girl. Yeah. Shaun: Dang, just put her business out there. God dang. Barry: Good for her. She's trying to save it. Shaun: She's gonna see this and be like, Why are Jen: That is good for her. Shaun: you telling people how much money I got, Jen: She show is. Yeah. Barry: I'm proud, that's why. Jen: You should be. That's great. First job. Barry: so Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Already got some bills in the bank saved. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Especially because I feel like most kids with their first job, like unless the circumstances are different. This is just me generalizing again. But most kids are like, let me go buy the things I want and the clothes and the shoes and then let's go here. And then they don't really have much. But that's awesome that she's ending the summer with a good chunk. Shaun: Spin it. Spin it. Barry: Which she was sh was cool about that. She bought herself some new AirPods 'cause her old ones were like three or four years old. And so she did that at the beginning of summer. Jen: Mm. But still, ending the summer with a s little stack of cash in there. Pop off, girl. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: So told her, just keep doing that every summer, you'll be alright by the time you get out of high school. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: Well, I mean in next year she's gonna start driving, so that money's about to start. Jen: Go into the gas tank. Okay. Can I go off on a thing for a second? Eve in the middle of our weekly catch-ups. Shaun: You would give her the more expensive vehicle to fill up to Barry: Spending spending money. who sure. Have at it. Jen: Have you guys seen these videos of this guy who goes to the gas station with an empty gallon of milk and fills the gallon and it only gets about halfway before the meter says it's actually a full gallon? So then it's this Barry: I've seen Yes. I've seen Says it's a gallon. I've seen that. Jen: new TikTok trend of people going. And finding out that we're paying for a gallon, but we're not actually getting a gallon. Have you seen that? Barry: I have seen it. I don't know if there's as much Shaun: I've seen it, yeah. Jen: Just add it to the list of things to be infuriated about. Barry: to being furious. I mean Shaun: Yeah. I I feel like that's that's everything. That's everything that we do. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: It's like a bag of chips, bro. When I buy a bag of chips, guess what? I'm only gonna half of that bitch full with chips. The other half is air. Jen: Yeah. That's what somebody said in the comments. Somebody was like, Barry: What am I really that surprised? Jen: go like weigh your bags at the store Shaun: Yeah. Jen: and best believe most of them aren't gonna be what they say. Barry: Am I really that surprised? Unfortunately I'm not. Shaun: Yeah. You can audit your your meat that's prepackaged. You can audit Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: your like vegetables that are prepackaged and stuff like that. Like I would I would venture to say, Barry: Bet you a lot of them. Shaun: I don't I don't know, but I would venture to say that probably eighty percent of them are probably not where they say they are. Barry: They're not where they say they are. I don't know if it's gonna say if Jen: yeah. Barry: it's halved all the time, but it ain't what it says it is. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I would agree with Shaun probably. Jen: All the more reason to buy local. But at the same time, I get that is not financially accessible for everyone. Barry: It's so damn expensive, bro. It ain't. Shaun: I mean, is it not though? Jen: Hey, this is a random question. Y'all want to go in on buying a cow together? I'm not joking. I'm trying to get somebody to split a cow with me. Yeah. Shaun: Okay, look. Yes, absolutely I will split it with you because Barry: No. Shaun: I am in the market. Like I was actually doing that. Barry: I mean, I get what y'all are saying, what's happening, but Jen: Yes. Shaun: No, like I'm actually I've been looking at deep freezers for a while now. And yeah. And I was like, I'm ready to like clear out some of the space in my garage and put Jen: We already go I'm ready to go with this cow. Mm-hmm. Shaun: it there. And I will absolutely go in with with you on it. Tell me when and I will do it. Cause there are people in the area. There are people in my area. Like there's a lot of like farms and stuff like that where you can get them. Mm-hmm. Yeah, you can buy a side, you can buy a quarter. Yeah. Barry: Y'all have at it. Let me know how it goes. Jen: Okay. Stay ready. Mm-hmm. Stay ready. Yeah, there's a lot. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Local farmers that will. Mm-hmm. They'll like cut it up, like they will yeah, they will portion it all Barry: They'll sell you just one head of cattle? Jen: out, do all that for you. Barry: they'll process it for you? Shaun: Yep. Jen: the whole thing. Mm-hmm. Yep. Shaun: Go through the entire butcher process. So I'm like, I'm I'm down. Jen: Yeah. It's seems Barry: Yeah. Jen: pricey because you see the immediate sticker price and you're like, my God. But then they like list out all the meat that you're getting, an insane amount of meat. Yeah. Shaun: It's a ton, yeah. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, you get a lot. Yeah. Jen: Which is why I'm like, okay, we could probably do a half a cow, but like we need to split it with somebody or something, because that's a lot of meat. Okay. Shaun: Tell me when and I'm down. Barry: Shaun, there's you go, there you go. Let me know how it goes. Shaun: I'll do it. Yeah. Works for me. Jen: Heard. Locked in. Sorry, didn't mean to derail your weekly update, Barry. Shaun: It's gonna go great. Yes, Barry. Sorry. Barry: Good. Shaun: Got off the rails already. That's what that's what we do. Yes. Barry: No. That's what we do. Just go with the flow. Jen: Yeah. It does happen a lot. Barry: yeah. and today we went out and celebrated with my fam for the oldest birthday last week. Jen: Mm. Barry: Yeah, we've been sleeping on chilies, bro. Chili's we've we've rediscovered Chili's Jen: Come up Chili's Shaun: Doc. Chili's has had a resurgence. They've come back. Yeah. Barry: They're they're pretty solid now, bro. Like Jen: Yeah, I love chilies. Barry: they're a little three for me deal, and I added a little patron frozen marg on top today, and it was five dollars, bro. I was like done. Jen: Ooh. Chili margaritas. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Great. Jen: Anytime you want to go for a Chili's margarita, let me Barry: I'm d I mean, the president ain't what it used to be. It's a low but that patron joint was it was fire. I get down on that for five dollars. Jen: Five dollar make you hollow. Yeah. Clip it. That's gonna be the the first episode clip. There you go. Shaun: Somebody clip that. I get down on man. Barry: Clip it. Clip it Get down on that for five dollars for sure. Shaun: And then he says it again. Barry: You don't need to clip it, I'll keep saying it. Jen: He's letting his statement be known, okay? Barry: But yeah. Shaun: Dope. Barry: We all know how Shaun's week went. I don't know if anything else happened before yesterday, but I'm sure that's all he wants to talk about. Shaun: Yeah, this gosh, dude. All right. Well, let's address it. My week. Yeah. I my week was like I I I I went into this week. I don't know why I can't talk right now, I guess, because I'm so excited about what I did. Barry: He's so happy and just elated, bro. Jen: He's he's just ready to get there, yeah. Shaun: So my week I went into this week. Like I am going to chill. Like I'm not gonna do anything crazy. I'm not gonna do a lot of stuff. So that's exactly what I did. just work, home, chilling. Not doing much of anything really. I did have a Sam's run because I am stockpiling. Jen: Good Sam's running. Shaun: I don't know. I feel like I'm going through this like prepper phase right now. I don't know. I don't know I don't know if it's because of that movie or or what. But Barry: That's why he wants half a cow, bro. Getting half a cow, bro. Jen: We're getting to have a cow. We're yeah. The movie next to the state of everything right now. Okay. State of this union. Well Shaun: Just everything, just the state of the union. Yeah, the state of everything right now. Yes. Jen: rub. Shaun: so yeah, I feel like I'm going through a little bit of a prepper phase, but we'll we'll Jen: That's funny. Shaun: see how that goes. But yeah, absolutely. Let me know when you want to get that cow. I am in on it. I will go and buy a defreezer tomorrow if I need to. but Jen: Ha ha Shaun: my week, I didn't really do much of anything. just chilled most of it. watched a couple of movies. one of them, of which is The Long Walk. Have y'all seen The Long Walk? Barry: It's good one. It's a good one. Yeah. Jen: I haven't but I've seen clips of it. Yeah, I've heard it's good. Shaun: Really good movie. Yeah. Watch it. It is good. I again, Barry, we we talked about this. Like I I I don't think we're far off from it. Like, I don't think that we're far off from something like that. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Yo, the the Patria games are already popping off up in here. You got two kids coming from every state to represent, Jen: I mean Barry: even though they aren't really Jen: Mm. Barry: that much of a representation of each state. Jen: Yeah. Have Shaun: Yeah. Jen: you seen the clips from there? It's really great. Shaun: I didn't watch it. Yeah. Barry: Pretty pretty interesting stuff. Jen: It's mm hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: So I don't know. Barry: But now I I mean bro, I think we were texting about it like nowadays if you told me something happened I'm probably would believe it before I Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Think that's the scariest part about it is we were like that video that you sent Barry over the weekend from the speech and like the Barry: Mm. Jen: giving the pledge and all of that. I was like, it's doesn't shock me anymore. But at the same time, that's disgusting because I'm so desensitized to shocking things. Barry: That's the norm now. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: And I'm just like, whatever. Like it's another, another day. Yeah. But how disgusting is that? Like, how scary is that? Shaun: So what we see every day. It's part of everyday life. Yeah. Barry: Straight up political barbary. Straight up political Shaun: Yeah. Barry: bribery Shaun: Scary hours in this mug, you know. but yeah, so do Barry: Get out there and vote, y'all. If we got two months, y'all better get out there and vote if you want change. That's all I wanna say. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: what you do. but yeah, so I watched that one. I also watched this movie called Drop, which when it first came out, I really wanted to see it. And then I saw that it was available. I think it was on Peacock, if I'm not mistaken. Jen: What was it about? Shaun: I watched it. So it's essentially about this lady who is Going back into the dating world. So she is now a widower or a widow. She's a widow and she is getting back into the dating world. She goes on this date with this guy. And then things go very left. so very left very quickly while she is not at home. That's as far as I'm gonna go. I'm not gonna go any further than that. Barry: Check it out. Jen: Wait a give us nothing, Shaun Barry: Drop. Shaun: I'm I'm I'm not gonna give you the whole plot to the story. Yeah. So watch it. It's a really good one. Barry: You can't give it away, you know. Jen: Hm. Okay. Heard. Shaun: so I watched that and then of course yesterday. I am wearing red today Jen: Da da da. Shaun: because I felt like it was only right that I pay homage to the season that Ohio State could have had. So I was like, I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna wear red. That was okay, Jen: Yeeikes. Barry: D shot spired. Shaun: I have to tell you about my viewing experience with that game too, Jen: Yeah. Shaun: because I am I feel like I'm an emotionally intelligent person, and I well, no, I I am, so I have self-awareness. Barry: Not when sports are on, I bet. okay. Shaun: I I am very self-aware. So I'm watching the game. Started off like a freaking nightmare. I was Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Probably the worst start you could have had. Mm-hmm. Shaun: like, what else can go wrong? I was like, running Jen: Yeah. Shaun: plays aren't working, passing plays aren't working, the line isn't holding up. Like, what is going Barry: It was bad. Shaun: on right now? so watch the watch the game and everything. We're good. Then we get to the third quarter. quarter. No. Yeah, we get to the third quarter. and I am like, you know what? I think it's me. I think I I am the problem right now. Jen: And the bad luck. Barry: So you are superstitious. You ain't a little stitious You're superstitious when it comes to sports. No, he's not. He's very superstitious. If you say it's me, it ain't ever you, bro. You have no outc bearing on the outcome of any sporting event. Shaun: I'm a little stitous I'm like I'm like Michael Scott. I'm a little stitious I'm I'm just a little stitchious. So here's I'm just self aware. It's it's me, Jessica. Jen: He's a sprinkle stitch. It's me. Shaun: god. But yeah, it was me. So I was like, you know what? I'm not gonna watch anymore. I'm gonna turn it off. I'm Barry: This fool Shaun: gonna watch another game. I'll just check the score periodically, see how we're going. How see how we're doing. So I look, they score. All right, cool. Look, Jen: He's locked in now. Shaun: yeah, look, they score again. I'm like, okay, we're getting we're getting kind of late in the fourth quarter now. I'm like, should I turn it back? Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: This is the point where we're it's the game is almost at the end. So I'm like, okay, I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna watch the end of this game. I have to watch it. So I flip the channel. They're running on the one, I think it was the one yard line is where they were at the time, maybe the two-yard line or something like that. They run, he's at the bottom of the pile, can't see anything. I'm like, okay, it's me. I have to turn it off. So I'm like, I feel like I need to turn it off. Jen: Fully convinced. Shaun: I was like, no, I'm gonna watch the let's just watch the replay, see what happens, let's see what the what the call comes back as. And they ruled him short. So they had to run it again. I was nervous watching that play because I'm like, man, if I cause them this game right now, I'm gonna be I'm gonna feel so bad. But turns out it worked. Gucci. Fantastic. Yeah, I went back, I watched some of their the highlights today. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, it's nerve wracking, bro. Yo, you crazy. No. It was a good game, bro. It was a good game. I was gonna text you and say, yo, they're gonna come back. I was gonna text you at the beginning of the fourth. I was like, yo, they're playing real well. And they were still down, Jen: But you guys, we're fine. Mm-hmm. Barry: but I like, yo, they had all the momentum going into that fourth quarter. So, no. Shaun: It started to click. Like it started to click and everything worked Jen: Mm-hmm. What do you think was Shaun: out. So Jen: said in that locker room to make it click? Cause they were doing, like you said, like nothing was working and it was such a hard shift. Like what do you think happened to? Hmm. Barry: They just came out and made some bad mistakes, man. They shot themselves Shaun: Yeah. Barry: in the foot early twice. And you s yeah, I think they just Shaun: I think it was more of a matter of them just locking in. Yeah. Barry: got a little I think the bright the lights were a little bright to begin the game Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm. Barry: and they were a little star struck. I I don't know if you wanna say that, but the it was a little more than they they inv envisioned. And then once Shaun: I think it was a little bit of layover Jen: Like maybe they ha their ego was a little Shaun: from last year. Jen: inflated and they didn't expect it to be as hard of a fight, or Barry: I don't know. I mean Shaun: I don't think that Barry: sometimes you just come into a game thinking like, we got this and they they're Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: coming to our house, they're gonna f like we're gonna be fine, they're gonna come in and need the and they came in and threw the a big one two punch to start the game, like Shaun: See, I think it was the opposite. I think Barry: Do you? Shaun: that they came into it like, okay, we we have to like make up for that loss that we had. Like we have to come back. We have to do it. Like we're at home. We have to come out here and get this win. And I think that they just got too much in their head. And that's when you start to make mistakes. Like you're thinking too much. Like go out there and play. Like you know what you're doing. You know the plays. Barry: Overthinking. Display. Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm. Yeah. Shaun: You know what you need to do. You're at home. You've got the whole crowd behind you. Just Barry: Yeah. Shaun: get out there and do it. Barry: Yep. Shaun: So I think that they just got two in their head. So Barry: Mm. Jen: Mm. Shaun: what I envision probably happened in the locker room, and of course this is outside looking in, no one was supposed to actually Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: know. But I'm like, I think that they were just told to calm down, take a breath, calm down. We're in the game. You've got punched in the mouth already. So just get out there and play. Barry: At halftime they were only down what, like thirteen three? It wasn't even like a crazy yeah. Shaun: No, it wasn't crazy. Yeah. And that's what I'm not shocked at how far Ohio State slid. Like it it kind of makes sense because Texas just wasn't playing well. Like, wasn't covering number four. And then exactly. You're like, all right, we're good. Yeah. Barry: Mm. So then you get comfortable and then thinking you got it in the bag 'cause they've played bad and then they just Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Like they're not covering us. We're all right. We're we're just Barry: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: moving along. We're in their we're in their house and we're doing this and Barry: Get Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: that overconfidence. Shaun: Come to the fourth Barry: Don't yeah, you don't Shaun: quarter, you get punched in the mouth. I mean, so Barry: don't keep your foot on the throttle. Shaun: Yeah. So I don't know. Very, very great end of my Saturday. So yeah. Barry: That was good. It was a good game. I mean, like Jen: Mm-hmm, yeah. Barry: I say, I'm not a I don't really root for either team, but I just like Shaun: Yeah. Barry: to watch good football. It was good. Good stuff. Shaun: Yeah, that's fair. I mean, I still have to mention that OU still sucks. Barry: Dude. Shaun: Oklahoma, you suck. All you all you had to do, yes. Barry: Just blew the b the SEC any kinda like why? Shaun: All you had to do was just go out there and get some type of revenge for Western Michigan. That's all you had to do. Just go out there and just beat the brakes off of Michigan. You Barry: They didn't didn't do it. Shaun: are the better team. So much as I hate to say it, Oklahoma, you are the better team than Michigan. And you couldn't freaking do it. Jen: And you drop the bomb. Mm-hmm. Barry: Couldn't do it. Shaun: So yeah, they're freaking they're two and right now, which is that should be one and one. Yeah. Should be one and one. Barry: Should be one on one. They should be. Jen: Annoying. Shaun: Should honestly should be and two. If we really think about it, they should be an 0 and Barry: Hm. I didn't even watch that game. Shaun: 2. But yeah, I don't know. So really, really good Saturday today. Chill. Football is back for the NFL too. I don't really care as much. I watch it, but I don't care as much. I'm more of Like just whenever I can watch the Broncos play, then that's what I'm gonna do. which unfortunately doesn't happen too much here in Texas. So no, we play tomorrow. Play the Chiefs tomorrow, yeah. Barry: Did they did they play today? No, they play tomorrow night, right? They at their Monday night game. That's right. Shaun: So that one, since it is a national game, that one's gonna be on. so that'll be good. Definitely gonna be watching that tomorrow night. Cowboys are playing right now. Hope that they lose. Yeah. Barry: that's right. They're the Sunday night game. Who are they playing? Jen: Mm. Shaun: oof. I I can't remember. Barry: Is it the Giants? I think it's the Giants. Shaun: It may be. I know they play Washington next week, I think. So it might be the Giants either. I don't Barry: I think it's the Giants this week then. Mm-hmm. Shaun: know. But if you're a Cowboys fan, I hope they lose tonight. Or I hope they Jen: Yeah. Shaun: lost this past Sunday by the time you actually watch this. Jen: Yeah, by the time this comes out. Shaun: but yeah, that that was basically my week. Barry: For sure. how did the you I know you said you're a tennis guy. Did you watch the US Open today? Jen: Mm. Shaun: yes, I did. So I watched some yesterday and I watched some today. it was really good. So the the women's side what's her name? Barry: It was a first time winner. Shaun: Arana Sabalinka, I think is her name. Barry: Yeah, she was going against the defending champ, right? She And she mhm. She was a first time winner of the US Open. Shaun: Yeah, I think so. But she won yesterday for the women's. Yeah. And then Zarev won today, which I I knew that he was gonna win. I well Ben. Yeah, Ben Shelton. He's who he played, yeah. Barry: Dang, Stefan didn't win. Wasn't that his name? Or Shelton. I said Stefan. Shaun: I I really wanted Ben to win because he's super young. He's of I mean he's American, so you want him to win anyway for the country. Barry: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: it's the US Open, but really good, really good match. Zarev, I you go into it knowing he's Probably gonna win 'cause he's just a monster right now. He's playing out of his mind. Barry: Sheldon wasn't w what but he wasn't even like a top ten rating, was he? is he that high? Shaun: Yeah, I think he's eight. I think he's eight in the world, right? Yeah. So I mean, it was it was a really good match. I feel like as I get older, I have more of an appreciation for tennis. Yeah. And Barry: Yo, tennis is hard. Jen: For sure. It is. Shaun: I'm just thinking like you have it's if you're thinking solos, which is the majority of the sport, Barry: Most, yeah. Shaun: yeah. So I mean you think about all of that real estate that you have to cover by yourself. Barry: Yo Shaun: You're out here playing for two hours and then you've got a serve coming at you at a hundred and thirty miles an hour. Jen: Mm. Steady. Yeah. Barry: Yo if you go like five sets some of the matches are like close to four if not pushing four hours Shaun: Yeah. Barry: bro if you go full Jen: Uh-huh. Barry: five set match. Yeah no yeah 150 mile hour service flying at you no thank you neither Shaun: Yeah. So don't know. I feel like Yeah, not at all. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: one of those things sounds fun Shaun: I just just thinking about that is scary as heck. Think about baseball players like talking about Barry: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: like that's the hardest sport because Jen: Mm. Shaun: they've got people throwing 90 or 100. Well, think about a tennis ball coming at you at 140, 150. So Yeah, still gonna hurt like crazy. So Barry: Yeah, I was thinking about that the other day. Yeah, no thank you. Even if it's softer, it's still gonna hurt. No thanks. But yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I don't know. really, really nice US Open. so yeah, I did. I watched some of it. Barry: You watch the FIBA US shout out to the USA FIBA women's team. Came out with the goal today. I mean, I'm not the biggest fan Shaun: I just I didn't. Jen: Just Barry: of women's basketball, but I'd support like FIBA. I'm not. It's not as entertaining as NBA, in my opinion. But I will still support them. I support the women's soccer. I love watching women's soccer. And I'll go out and watch they are they're better than the men. Shaun: Dang. It's not. I mean, if we're real, it's not, but it is good. Yeah. I mean, women's soccer's just they're just better than any other version of US. Yeah. Barry: They are better than the USA men's team. Shaun: I will say the women's soccer team is the second best national team. I mean, the men's like basketball, when they're on in Barry: yeah, for sure. Shaun: the international stage, they're the best. Very difficult to beat them. Barry: Hard hard to beat the yeah. Shaun: But the women's soccer team is second only to them. Yeah. Barry: They're fun. Nah, it was a really good game today, actually. the the who was it? France actually went up by like fourteen early in the first half or in the f like the end of the first quarter. And USA went on a real good run in the second and I think they were down two or three going into halftime, but yo had some pretty good s defensive stops and some good transition to kind of flip the game and then just blew out b I think they ended up winning by like eighteen or seventeen, twenty, something like that. They Shaun: Yeah. Barry: second half they just took over. France couldn't hit a three pointer to stay their lives in the second half. They hit like eight, I think, in the first half. So that was definitely what was keeping them sharp and in the game. But Shaun: I mean, France just can't beat the US in basketball. Barry: Not recently. Not recently. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: But Jen: Can I poke at y'all a little bit? Barry: Sure. Shaun: Sure. Jen: Why do you think women's sports aren't as entertaining as men's sports? Barry: It's just a lot slower and it's a big part of it. And they're Shaun: Yeah. I I think that pace of play is a big part of it. Yeah. Barry: they're not as Jen: Specifically with basketball or just in all sports? Shaun: All sports. Well, with the exception of tennis, I I would say tennis is a big difference for me. Women's tennis is pretty great. Yeah. Barry: no, I'd say I don't know. I mean tennis, yeah. The still pretty good. I mean I guess I don't outside of soccer, I guess I watch women's hockey for the Olympics. But I mean I don't keep up with I don't really watch the WNBA. I'll the only time I really watch women's basketball is if it's like Olympics or like FIBA. It's just like they don't dunk they're not as efficient. I think that's the word. No. They don't. Jen: So you you think they should lower the net? So they can? Hm. Shaun: No, I don't think so. I don't think that they should lower the net. I mean, the basketball Barry: No. Shaun: is already like if we think specifically about basketball, because I would say that that's Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: where Barry and I watch sports the most, is probably basketball. Barry: Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. Shaun: Like if you think about that, the basketball is already a smaller size. So I don't think that lowering Barry: It is. Shaun: the hoop would be beneficial necessarily. Jen: Even if it sped the game up, like Barry: They're just not Jen: even if it brought in that element. Barry: I don't think it would speed the game up. Shaun: I don't think it would. Because in Barry: I don't think it would. Shaun: I guess when I think of like pace of play, it's more of like the strength and conditioning of like the ball movement, how fast the ball is moving from side to side and from end to end of the court, as Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: well as how like fast the players are able to make those transitions happen. Yeah. Barry: Just the level of athleticism is different. Shaun: Not and that's no shot at women's sports or women's basketball. It's just a different Barry: It's not. It's just it's just a fact. Shaun: It's the same sport, but it's a completely different viewing experience when you're watching. Barry: In in my opinion. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Hmm. So how do you think women's sports gain more popularity or they just don't? Barry: I I don't know if I don't know if it will. I think there's a lot of behind the scenes like T V dollars Shaun: Yeah. Barry: and those and ratings. Like I don't know how you get it to be more comp I didn't want to say Shaun: I don't know if we talked about it on here. Yeah. Jen: But that's my that's kind of my point. Barry: competitive 'cause it's I don't like Shaun said, it it's just different s sport or it's a different type of sport when it it's viewed men's versus women to me. I think soccer Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: can be more 'cause To me, soccer is a very high skill sport. Like to be able to control and do what Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: you do with the ball with your foot, that takes a lot of skill. Jen: Consistently for ninety minutes, yeah. Barry: Yes. And to like to Shaun's point, like the USA women's team is a very skilled team. Like they usually have Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: the best talent and they usually compete. And I Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I don't I think it's still faster for the men's, but I think they know how to kick the ball. accurately and far distance just like men do, so you still get the I think quickness and I mean I watched Shaun: Olin. Barry: the the USA under twenty girls put on like nine goals against New Zealand on Saturday. And that's fun to watch. Shaun: Well, and that's the thing with soccer though. Like soccer is a slower paced sport anyway. Yeah. Barry: It is. It's not as high yeah, like men's basketball, you're getting a hundred and twenty points. Like women struggle to score ninety. Shaun: Exactly. Yeah. Barry: It's but for soccer your your scoring lines are gonna be very similar when it comes Jen: Similar. Barry: to men or women's. Shaun: Mm-hmm. That's why I think women's soccer works really well. I think that they get a lot of views and they get a lot of they are not Barry: Yeah. It's a very str strategic sport. Shaun: they are not paid at the level that they should be paid at compared to the men's side. so Barry: Hundred percent. I would agree with that. Jen: Preach. Shaun: I will say that like soccer is definitely one of those Barry: You go. Shaun: tennis, we talked about tennis, like women's tennis is just as good as men's tennis, if not better than men's tennis is. You've got some phenomenal athletes on the tennis court for women. And Barry: Just as competitive. Yep. Yep. You got some really good f female tenant athletes. Yeah. Yeah. I would agree with that. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: I think that that's a fantastic viewing experience. Like being able to watch that is great. same thing if you think of Yeah. Barry: Mm-hmm. And again, I think it's just a type of sport too when it comes to tennis. Jen: Mm. Barry: Like it's the scoring is the same. You're still getting a Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: high level of shot made, like shot making when it comes to hitting, you know, the different the the Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: different types of volleys, you know, like cutting them, putting the backspin, drop shots, volleyball women's and men's is very. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Volleyball. Some of them. Women's volleyball is freaking great. Yes. Like even like softball. I know that they're they're like getting into the the momentum with starting the softball league. Barry: Yo, C say softball's actually harder to hit a s s an underhand pitch Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: softball is harder than an overhand pitch, like MLB, 'cause the ball's rising Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: on you. So it's a lot it's a lot different type of a skill to hit a rising ball versus one that's sinking. Mm-hmm. So Shaun: Yeah. And sinking. So I I hope that I hope that that league that they're creating, I don't know much about it. I haven't done any research Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: on it, but I hope that that league is wildly successful because I think that that would be a great thing to be able to see. Like having this national level for like women or professional level for women to go into on the soft by softball side of things would be Barry: Yeah. Shaun: great to be able to see something like that. The big I think the biggest difference between men's and women's in the same sport is basketball. Barry: Yeah, it's a vast difference. Those guys are just in the athleticism. Shaun: Like men's basketball is just so much more of a faster pace than women's is. Jen: And you don't think there's a way to close that gap? Barry: I don't think so. I think unf unfortunately Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I think it's just a scientific gap. I really do. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: And it's again, it's not a shot. I just dudes that can jump out of the roof and do s so skillfully or yeah, just in shooting, like I don't know. It's just a different like I say, they are Shaun: Tend to have more explosive jumps, tend to be faster, tend to be stronger. Yeah. Barry: just more efficient when it comes to that skill. I don't know why. It is it is very much Shaun: The pace of basketball is just so much faster than any other sport. It's just like basketball is a sprint while every other sport is a marathon, basically. Like basketball, you're trying to get up and down. Jen: Yeah. Barry: I was thinking about that too, like how like even in the NFL, like dudes get to rest. Like if you're an offensive guy, you get to rest a lot. And not to say that basket yeah, that's when yeah. But Jen: yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mm hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Unless you're in a hurry up offense, you get to rest every play. Yeah. Barry: in basketball, even then, like you're on the the court continuously for five to ten minutes at a time, which can be twenty to thirty minutes of real time and it's Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I mean, if you ain't sitting, you are moving most of it. Yeah. Shaun: You're moving, you're going. And football Jen: Yeah. Shaun: guys don't come in here talking about, well, y'all are Barry: No. Shaun: inside in the air conditioner, like we're outside in pads and stuff. We Jen: Yeah, no. Shaun: get that. We understand that. You're in the elements, you're in the heat. It's hard. Yeah. But basketball, yes. Barry: Yeah. No, it's still hard and that's what I don't ever want to like try and take away. All professional sports are hard, but I do think there's different levels. Just I think boxing is probably one of the ultimate sports that any person could do. Like, dude, have you ever done like a boxing Shaun: Boxing is insane. And that's another one. Jen: my goodness, yeah. Barry: workout for like one minute? I couldn't imagine Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Dude. Barry: boxing somebody for five minutes over twelve rounds and only Jen: Yeah. Barry: having two minutes in between each yo. I would Jen: Yeah. Barry: get gassed after like three rounds and they do it four times Jen: Sure. Barry: that and make it look easy. So Jen: Mm. Shaun: When I lived in North Austin, there was a a boxing like gym across the street Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: from where I lived. And like they offer workouts. You go in there, you work out and things like that. Dude, I was gassed trying to do that workout. It's hard. So hard doing that. Barry: Dude, it ain't no joke. I've tried to do a couple boxing works Jen: Mm. Barry: out in my life and yo, I'm not a boxer. Shaun: Yeah. But even with that, like combat sports, women combat sports are freaking amazing. They're great. Yeah. Barry: Still pretty and yeah, you still got some heck heck athletes out there. Shaun: But it's like basketball is the biggest difference. Jen: Hm. Barry: I I would agree. Shaun: It just yeah. Barry: I don't know how Jen: Yeah, that's interesting. I've never really heard that broken down that way when it comes to specifically Barry: I mean Jen: basketball, but I can see it. I can see the argument and the thought. Barry: Unfortunately, it really comes down to marketability and profitability. The the NBA has Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: And that's a big part of it too. Barry: funded the WNBA for I think the Jen: Yeah. Barry: majority, if not all, of its existence. The WNBA has never been profitable on its own. And I I they should still make more money. So Shaun: For most of his existence. Jen: Hundred percent. Which is why most people Yeah. Which is again the fight. Barry: don't like get it twisted that I'm saying that they aren't Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: paid to their potential of what they should. Jen: Yeah. Barry: But when you talk about the money that is brought in for the NBA versus WNBA it's apples to oranges. Like it's and so Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. I just thought what what do we think like is the WNBA just never gonna have the ability to get to that point, no matter what elements we change or how we mix up the Barry: I Jen: game or whatever. Like if there's nothing Shaun: I think if they do get there. Jen: to bring it to that view because a lot of people say, like I support women's sports and blah blah blah blah blah, but then there just isn't that viewership for the WNBA. So Barry: I I mean Jen: what do we Shaun: Think if they are going to get there right now is their opportunity to do that. And the yeah, they've got so much talent right now, and the Barry: They got a lot of young talented athletes in the WNBA right now. Jen: for sure. They have a lot of movement right now. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: commissioner of the WNBA is retiring at the end of this season. Yeah, that's been a massive issue that's been going on with it. Yeah. Barry: Is retiring and I know that's been a part like kind of a sticking point for a lot of people. Is she was not a good commissioner, from what I've heard and read. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: So this is their opportunity. If they're going to do it, if they're going to be wildly successful, like they do have the ability to do, this is their opportunity to be able to do it. Barry: Yeah, they gotta get somebody Jen: What do Barry: who's I don't I don't know. Jen: you think that they should do, like to get there? Shaun: How that's all I was gonna say, how do they get there? I don't know. The I would say one of the biggest things that they could probably do is bring in some former players in the league office. That way they can get the actual voice of the players that have been there inside. Barry: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I think that could be a big part of it. Just getting more. Yes. So many talented people. So many talented, smart women that were in the WNBA. Yeah. Barry: You got a lot of people who like talented people who have just retired or are still around the game for sure. Like Sue Bird was at the FIBA in in Germany, like supporting Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Team USA today. Like, so you have the people that have done it. I mean, what's her name? Tarasi just retired, right? Recently. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: I'm sure she would help. I mean, I don't know. They just gotta grow the game somehow. I don't know. I don't know. Hmm. Hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. I've seen calls of Lisa Leslie to come in to the league office and stuff like that. I th Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: Yeah, a lot of big names. Shaun: I think that the potential is there. I just don't know how you do it. Jen: Yeah. Barry: You can't I don't think you can center it and try and say that we're comparable to the NBA. I don't that's not and Shaun: Yeah, I don't think so either. Barry: not to say like I've I've heard the talks of like sh could a a middle school team go and be pro NBA pro Jen: W ABA. Barry: I don't think it's that or that I think a high school team, like a varsity high school team could beat a WNBA team. I do. If it's a but I don't think a middle school team. Yes, I would agree. Like Shaun: A varsida. If you were to take the top ranked varsity or like the top ranked high school team against Barry: Like IMG Academy, like there's yes. Jen: Like men's you're saying men's high school top team Shaun: Yeah. Jen: national champions Shaun: I think that Barry: They could be competitive against Jen: up against a WNBA. Barry: WNBA teams. And now if you wouldn't Shaun: Yeah. Barry: like an all star team for WNBA, I still think that the the WMA players would beat that team. If you brought like Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Asia Wilson and like the top notch players of the WNBA and brought together, Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I think that would be a hard out for a a high school varsity team. Shaun: Yeah. Either I think either way it's probably gonna be an an incredibly competitive game. Barry: Yes. Yeah, I would agree. But I don't know how you make it marketable or profit. And that's what I don't it it is. It's Shaun: And again, no shade at the WNBA. I think that Barry: just a skill difference. Shaun: Well, and I think that they need to create that separation. How you do that, I don't know. But I think they need to create the separation from the NBA because Barry: I don't either. So I'm saying you can't mm hmm. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: a really good product that they do have, I can't remember what it's called, but the the players in the league, they funded their own kind of like tournament style like Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: event that they did. It was great basketball. Like it was three on three basketball. Like they were able to, yeah, they were to play. They did kind of like a king Barry: I know what you're talking about in the off season. Mm-hmm. Shaun: of the hill or I guess queen of the hill. type of a situation where like Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: they saw like who was the best player out of all of them if you're going one on one. That was a great viewing experience. So I think that they just have to create that separation from the NBA. Yeah. And do their own thing. And I think if they do that, it can work. Barry: Yeah. Just gotta think of outside the box kind of yeah, opportunities. I mean the one on one basketball is super popular on the socials right now. Like people love watching it. I'm not a fan of it, but to Shaun's Shaun: Yeah. I like one on one. Barry: point, like you could have that queen of the court, like queens of the court, three on three type style. But yeah, I mean I don't Jen: Mm hmm. But con Shaun: Yeah. Jen: conceptually you just think there's just not a real strong way that they could become what the NBA is, but in a women's position. Barry: I mean they already go up it's hard to 'cause and they already go opposite of the NBA season, which I think is great. Like you don't want to try and compete head to head with an NBA game. Like for viewership, you're not gonna get it. Jen: Yeah. No, because you're not. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Can't. Well, but I mean you can't do it anyway because you've also got the NFL that's running during that time. And that's Barry: True. Yeah. Shaun: another thing, like the NB the WNBA season is so much shorter than any other season, really. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, it is very short. It's like three or four months, I think. Not even three Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: months maybe. And they this one'll be a little bit longer only 'cause of FIBA. I they had like a what, a two or Shaun: Yeah. Barry: three week like downtime. So these WMB players could go play on the FIBA teams. So they're just now about to start the playoffs and get to their championship in the WNBA now that the FIBA's over. I don't know when that starts back up, but Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Okay. Shaun: Well, it it seems like there's more to that, okay. Jen: Mm. I just think, yes, I do agree. I think many you can argue until you run out of breath. But you have to admit there are just physical differences between a male and a female. So there are going there is going to be that physical difference no matter what. But I do think many people just don't truly take into account the like ancillary things happening around, like the funding that they don't get, the equipment that they aren't provided, the politics Barry: I mean the politics that are going on, yeah, it's Shaun: yeah. Jen: that are behind it, the social constructs around sports and how men have had many a year to establish this thing and women have been fighting for a long time. So I don't know. Barry: I don't agree that it's inequ it's an it's equal. I would say that. Yeah, no, it is. Shaun: Yeah. And I I completely agree with that. The thing is kind of like what Barry said a minute ago is like, where does the money come from? Like how do you how do you get this influx of money coming in? Barry: That's the hard part. It's all a business. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. But that's what I mean is a lot of people say, well, it and I am very much guilty of it, like Barry: It's all a business. Jen: of saying I support women's sports, but then not showing up. And it's so funny that I I'm thinking about this. But exactly, like Barry: I mean, I'm not gonna go buy s WNBA tickets. I will be straight up with you. I'm not going to. Jen: for those of you that watch Ted Lasso, how are you liking the new season? But so the new Barry: That's solid. Jen: season is about Shaun: So far behind. Jen: them starting a women's team for Richmond. Barry: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: And that's one of their biggest things is getting people to come out and support them is like the hardest thing. So like everybody wants to say, well, the money's not there and blah, blah, blah, blah. Like, yeah, you have to show up and make it a thing. So you keep Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: saying you support it, but you're also not showing up or doing anything to actually physically support it. So where do we that's the frustration, I think. Where do we go from here? Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Where do we where do we go from here? Yeah, it's basically where it is. Yeah. I used to go to UT women's Barry: I would agree. Shaun: games all the time because those were really fun games. And I mean, it's also kind of like you can get in, like you can get courtside tickets for very cheap. Like it's one Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: of those things that you can go in there and like just go and have a good time. But it Barry: Yeah. I don't know. If my daughters ever wanted to go, I'm sure I could make it happen, but I'm not gonna be out here looking for WNBA tickets. Shaun: Yeah. And I mean there's not any WNBA teams close by really. We'd have to go to Houston. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, the Spurs don't have theirs anymore, I don't think. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: So Shaun: I I don't know where we go from here, Jen. Barry: I don't either. That's Jen: Yeah. Barry: just my honest opinion. You you wanted to you said you wanted to poke at us and ask us a question. No, no need to apologize. I don't know if it's the answer you wanted to hear, Jen: I don't even know how we got here, Shaun. So I surely don't know where we go. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I think that's what I'm saying. I I think that Jen: Sorry all. Barry: but Shaun: almost every other format of women's sports works. It works, it's successful, they have the support behind them. It's just basketball. Like basketball is a different sport when you watch Jen: Yeah. And I've never thought about it like that. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: A hundred percent. There's just a big gap. Yeah. Shaun: it. Like when you watch professional men's versus professional women, it's a completely different sport. Barry: Yeah. Like Shaun: And that's not the case in any other sport. Barry: the women's game is played below the rim and the men's game is played above the rim. Shaun: Above. Yeah. Jen: see that's what's shocking to me is that you also still think don't lower the rim. Like you Shaun: Because Barry: I don't I don't think they still have the I that's too much. Shaun: I think if you lower the rim, if you make it an eight foot rim, like you're still gonna have or nine, let's say nine. If you're making a nine foot rim, I think that that still kind of causes issues because now you've got all of these players that are accustomed to a 10-foot rim that aren't going to Barry: Two or ten foot. Jen: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Shaun: be able to shoot anymore. They're gonna have to relearn how that works. They're gonna have to figure Barry: You have to alter, yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: out what it looks like when it comes to like If if they were to get into like dunks and alley oops and things Jen: Yeah. Shaun: like that, they're gonna have to learn the mechanics of that. So it could potentially work. It's gonna take decades before it's gonna be something that yeah, before it's something that can be enjoyable. It's gonna take Jen: Yeah, you'd have to think longevity, for sure. Yeah. Shaun: a really long time before you can really get there, just because they're gonna have to learn the sport all over again. Jen: But if they're not getting anywhere currently with their current format, Shaun: Yeah. Jen: let's start thinking outside the box and figure out what we can do to elevate the sport if that's something that you're wanting. I Shaun: Touche. Yeah. Jen: mean Shaun: Maybe we get you in the league office, Jen. I don't know. I don't know. He said ain't gonna happen, golly. man. I was like, golly, dog. Barry: Go get Jim. Make it happen. I see. No, I said make it happen. I didn't say ain't gonna happen. Come on, bro. Jen: Let's go. Let me in there. I've got many a idea. I was like, Dang Barry, hurt my heart. Ugh. Shaun: man. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know how you make it happen, but that's the Jen: Yeah, it's interesting. Shaun: that's the one. It that stands out in my mind. I I could be missing something. That's the only one that stands out in my mind. Jen: Well, I mean, Kenny and I have had many a heated discussion, not Shaun: Mm. Jen: argument, just heated discussion around women's sports in general. And his as y'all know, his big thing is soccer. And he still believes even with w like women's soccer, he's like, it's just not up to the caliber. The game is not as p fast paced. It's not as whatever as men's sports. So it's interesting. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: I would disagree with Kenny on that. Soccer's a very strategic game and it's a very slow game in most games. Like Shaun: Yeah. Barry: it's very much chess. It's not a fast paced unless you just have teams that don't care about defense. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: We saw that with England versus France, where there's like ten goals in that consolation Jen: Mm. Yeah. Barry: game. 'Cause nobody cared. Shaun: Yeah, I mean at that point, who cares? You didn't you didn't make it to the the actual finals, so Barry: I would agree. You make it to the to the chip. Shaun: yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: We're just trying to get out of here and go home. Jen: Ha. Shaun: Without injuries. That's that's the goal at that point. Yeah. Barry: Feel that. Feel that. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I don't know. So yeah, that was my week. That's how Jen: We say it every time. The weekly updates just kinda take over. Was it though? I feel like it was weekly update Barry: think that that was past the weekly update. Kinda. Shaun: Ha ha ha. Jen: just with like fifteen different side adventures. Yeah. Shaun: it is it just spurred off. Jen: We're going on an adventure. Shaun: Man. Barry: Every week. Yeah. Shaun: Every single time. This is what we do. But Jinny, you said you had a would you rather write about tripping? Jen: I did. Do we want to use it or do we want to use yours? Shaun: Tell me. I don't I don't know if Jen: Mm. Shaun: we should use mine because mine might get get y'all in trouble, and I don't want to do that. So okay. Well, let's do mine then. All right. Jen: I'm so intrigued. Now I feel like we have to do it. Okay. We'll save mine. Barry: Let's do it. Shaun: So this is one that I did see. and it is Would You Rather Get 50,000? No. Yeah. Would you rather get fifty thousand dollars a month and you no longer have to work? So you Jen: Yes. Shaun: no longer have to work. You can just do whatever it is that you want to do, enjoy your life, live live how you currently live or do whatever you need to do. Or would you rather keep your current job that you have now and make five hundred thousand dollars a month? Barry: Give me fifty. That's six hundred thousand a year. That's six Shaun: Jens like, how do I answer? Barry: hundred thousand dollars a year. Jen: Yeah, but I'd still Shaun: No? Jen: take the 500 because I enjoy my job and I Barry: Nah. Nah. Shaun: No. Jen: am not the kind that cannot not work. Like I go stir crazy. Barry: It's not that I don't enjoy my job, but you can you're telling me I don't gotta work and I s just continue to live the life I'm living now for fifty thousand Shaun: Fifty thousand dollars a month. Barry: a month. Sign me up. Jen: Yeah, but five Shaun: That's fair. Jen: hundred thousand a month? Barry: But if I'm working that's forty hours a week that I don't gotta do anything. Bruh. You can't. You can't. Jen: With my PTO schedule, I could be going all over the place all the time and still feel fulfilled. Shaun: You can't. Jen: Yes, I could. Barry: So you trying to change the rules now with my PTO schedule. Shaun: I mean, all of that is still in play. So you keep your current job as is. Jen: yeah. What do you mean? Shaun: You keep your current job as is. Barry: You could take off one day every two weeks. Jen: You're wild no. Barry: You're gonna run out, Jen. The math, yeah, you will. You don't earn more than you're gonna wanna take Jen: No I won't No I won't. Shaun: Math ain't mathing. Barry: off in a two week period. Jen: No, see, I th I see it as I Barry: Sign me up, bro. I ain't working. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I don't gotta I can do whatever I want. Are you talking for fifty thousand dollars a month? Bruh. Shaun: Fifty thousand dollars a month. If I won the lottery Shaun: Yeah, that's fair. Barry: tomorrow, I would give my two weeks. I'm not just gonna be like I'm out. Jen: No, I'd stay for Shaun: what's Jen: a while. People would never know. Barry: That's that would be my ultimate goal if I really won the lottery. But yo, if you said I could no work, fifty thousand a month, sign me up, bro. Shaun: Never have to work again. You get save fifty thousand dollars a month for the rest of your life. Barry: Sign me up. Nah, Jen: That is a tough one. Barry: it's not. Jen: But I could create generational wealth with five hundred thousand every Shaun: I think it is kind of tough. Right. Jen: single month and I enjoy my job. So like Shaun: I I see it both ways. Like you can absolutely Jen: Why not? I can still Barry: 'Cause I could invest Jen: I have a ton of vacation, so Barry: fifty thousand. Jen: I can t still take crazy cool vacations, set myself and my family and my kids up. I could set up generational wealth in the future. Like longevity Barry: Okay. Jen: berry. All right. We're thinking long term. Barry: I am too, and I would be way happier not working. Jen: Ha ha ha Barry: My longevity would be phenomenal. You crazy. Jen: Yeah, I think I think I'd keep my job and take the five hundred every month. Barry: Bruh. Neh torn at all. Jen: Nah. Yeah, that is a good one. That's a good Shaun: I was really torn on this one. I I didn't know. Like I feel Jen: one. Shaun: like right now I would probably take the 500. Like if you were to offer me 500, Jen: Yeah, for sure. Shaun: I would probably Barry: No. Shaun: do that. But I Jen: For sure. Shaun: would come back and be like, hey, can I can I do the 50? Yeah. After after like a year or two, I'd come back and be like, hey, can I get the 50? I know, I know, I know. I know. I would I would probably Jen: Can I switch now? I think I'm topped out. I'm good now. Yeah. Barry: It's not nah, see y'all changing it, bro. You get one or the other. It's not would you rather for a little bit and then go to the other one. It's would you rather in perpetuity. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah, I would probably do the five hundred just because I like Barry: Yeah, I'll trippin' Shaun: I'm at the point to where I don't have any reason not to right now. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I like I don't travel or do anything right now. So I don't feel like that's really gonna change if I have a ton of money and a bunch of free time. I feel like I'm probably not gonna travel anyway. Barry: If I had a ton of money and a bunch of free time, that's exactly what I would do. Shaun: I would want to, but I don't think that I would. Because who am I gonna fund Jen: I would but Shaun: everybody to come with me? Barry: No. Shaun: So Jen: Why not? Shaun: how are like I'm just gonna like go yeah, I'm Jen: You better be paying for me to come with you. Shaun: just gonna go backpack through Europe by myself or something? That sounds boring, honestly. I would need I would Barry: Yeah. Okay, make a friend. Jen: Yeah, no. Shaun: need to have a friend or two with me. And I'm not paying for this friend to come to Europe with me. Jen: Go make a friend. Barry: You'll make a friend, Bo. Jen: It's part of backpacking. You make you meet people along the way. Make a friend. That's so funny. Barry: For real. Shaun: Yeah. No. That's a WPS. I don't know. Barry: It is. I mean No, you go No, Jen: Undo that around here, partner. Shaun: So yeah. I don't know. I I feel like I would definitely take the five for now. Barry: bro, you go to Europe. You'd be alright I mean that's not where I will go. I mean of course I would want to go to Europe just to check it out, but if I'm gonna go spend Where would I go first? Yeah, I'm gonna say that would probably be Jen: Where would you go first? Shaun: Yeah, I mean that's not the end result. easily Japan is my first place. Yeah. Easily. Jen: I was just about to say, mine might be Italy, second Japan. Shaun: Yeah. Or maybe maybe Hawaii to relax for nah. I go Fiji. Let's go to Fiji, relax for a little bit. Barry: Yeah. Yeah, Hawaii would be dope. Boo. Get you a little hut on the water, bro. Shaun: Yeah, and then I'll go to Japan. Barry: You can't do that if you're working. Jen: Yes, you can. Shaun: Who who says? Jen: Yes. Why are you like is somebody not approving your PTO, Barry? Like what's happening? What? Shaun: I can I can take yeah, I can take a week of PTO. Barry: No, I don't have any problems with taking my PTO. Y'all know that. I don't ever have problems with my PTO. Shaun: You know you know how I stockpile PTO. Like I can just take a week or two off and Barry: Yes, I do. That's what I'm saying. Jen: Yeah. Barry: What do you like? Then you still gotta go back to work. Jen: We don't have a cap on our PTO for a very long time, I'm just saying. Shaun: But it's five hundred thousand dollars a month. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Y'all thinking too greedily. Jen: That's fine. I'm not thinking greedily. Shaun: That's n Jen: I'm thinking I'm setting up my family and my grandkids and my great grandkids and I am creating generational wealth for my family. Shaun: See, and I ain't got kids or grandkids, so I'm thinking that I'm about to I'm about to blow so much money. I'm about to really enjoy life. Barry: When your life is shortened because of your stress from work. Jen: I know, right? Right. But at least I left them a good Barry: No. Jen: chunk of change. Barry: So you're alive for five years shorter, you could have had so much more money. Stress, bro. The stress of not having to worry about work or money. Jen: But see, I feel like that stress Shaun: Yeah. Jen: would be taken away because right now the stress is you need to like do your job well and make sure your job is secure so that you have are able to pay for your life. If I lose my job, I made. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: You're still gonna have that stress. You lose the money. Jen: Yes, but I've at that point $500,000 a month? Like you're probably set. Barry: No, bro. I'm liv I'm living for the day. Jen: Nah. We're answering correctly, Shaun. It's for sure five hundred thousand. Keep the job. Shaun: Yeah. I can make yeah, I can make in one year what it takes you to make in ten. Jen: Exactly. Barry: Great. Shaun: That's where I'm like, I mean, if I can just do it for two years, yes. Jen: And then we get compound interest hopping up in here, like, come on now. We're set. You struggling. Mm Barry: See now y'all change the rules. I just gotta do it for two years. Shaun: There Jen: mm. Shaun: Well yeah, because that's twelve million at that point I've got twelve million dollars. Jen: Exactly. And then again, compound interest. I don't need to work anymore. Barry: No, you would have earned twelve million. You talk about you gonna be out here spending lots of money. That's Shaun: I would have earned twelve million dollars. Barry: what you blowin'. So you gonna change your lifestyle and accustomize it Shaun: Yeah, because I don't have any kids. I don't have anything to worry about. Barry: to five hundred thousand a month and then you ain't gonna have nothing anyways. Jen: Whatever, you're gonna put it in a c account. Exactly. You're gonna invest, you're gonna put it in an account to where that is compounding Shaun: What are you talking about? I'm not spending $500,000 a month. Yes. Barry: Okay. Jen: and earning and I don't have to work. I can lose my job and not be earning five hundred thousand a month anymore 'cause I got that money working that I got. Barry: Then you're gonna lose that five hundred thousand a month. Shaun: And it's still but it's still the same thing. Like I d I haven't lost Jen: Mm mm. Shaun: what I've earned up until that point. I've still got Jen: Exactly. Shaun: all of that money that I've been putting away. It's just that I no longer have that Jen: And we're multiplying it.
