- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: Kate Torber. And I'm Sophie Torber. And coming up on
- 0:13Speaker 1: today's show, Sam Guggenheimer backs out of controversial masterclass. Michaela
- 0:19Speaker 1: Testa shocks followers with her low-key wedding. Both Sky Wheatley
- 0:23Speaker 1: and Mitch Orville all but confirm their high-profile breakups. And
- 0:27Speaker 1: Shameless and Kick join forces. But first, over the weekend,
- 0:31Speaker 1: Amy's husband saved me from what was quite honestly going
- 0:34Speaker 1: to be one of the most humiliating moments of my
- 0:37Speaker 1: life thus far. And I think I will be forever
- 0:40Speaker 1: in debt to him for this moment. So we were
- 0:42Speaker 1: at a first birthday party and I wanted to look nice.
- 0:45Speaker 1: So I had put my halo hair extensions in just
- 0:48Speaker 1: for a bit of thickness, nothing dramatic. I've been wearing
- 0:51Speaker 1: them for probably 10 years now. And I think they're
- 0:53Speaker 1: a more comfortable alternative to clip-in hair extensions. They're the
- 0:56Speaker 1: same thing.
- 0:57Speaker 2: You can take them in and out very easily. And
- 0:59Speaker 2: it's basically like.
- 1:00Speaker 1: A wad of hair attached to a fishing wire that
- 1:02Speaker 1: you kind of hide within your hair. Yeah. So anyone
- 1:05Speaker 1: who listens to the Mums group will know that Harry
- 1:08Speaker 1: is literally obsessed with pulling hair. He was a man
- 1:11Speaker 1: on a mission at this birthday party because there were
- 1:13Speaker 1: so many little girls there who had pigtails and he
- 1:16Speaker 1: just was in his element. Like you could just see
- 1:18Speaker 1: him sizing them up, getting ready to yank on their hair. Anyway,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I should have been on high alert because of this,
- 1:24Speaker 1: but I was having a family photo take and Amy
- 1:26Speaker 1: was taking it on her phone and And Dale and
- 1:28Speaker 1: Harry were in the background. Anyway, I feel this hand
- 1:32Speaker 1: on the back of my head latch onto the hair extension.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So this was like a surprise assault from the back. Yeah,
- 1:39Speaker 1: from behind.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Like you didn't even know it was coming.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm there smiling, waiting for this hand on me.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And my first reaction was to grab the hair extension,
- 1:45Speaker 1: so I grabbed it. Luckily, Dale was very swift to act. Now,
- 1:50Speaker 1: I think this proves that he actually does love me
- 1:52Speaker 1: as a sister because he grabbed Harry's hand and bit it.
- 1:57Speaker 1: So he would release the hair extension. Now I want
- 1:59Speaker 1: to point out, when you say bite, you mean a
- 2:01Speaker 1: loving little nipple on the hand just to stop him.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It wasn't like a clenching down.
- 2:06Speaker 1: No, it was a nip. And the thing that surprised
- 2:08Speaker 1: me the most about this is that if anything, I
- 2:11Speaker 1: thought that Dale would have quite enjoyed seeing me experience
- 2:14Speaker 1: this humiliation. He's not a fan of hair extensions. I
- 2:17Speaker 1: often get paid out by him for wearing them. So
- 2:21Speaker 1: I just have to publicly say thank you to him
- 2:24Speaker 1: for that because can you imagine if my hair extension
- 2:26Speaker 1: actually got pulled off my head? Like I joke sometimes
- 2:29Speaker 1: to Brandon that I'm wearing a full wig. Like that's
- 2:31Speaker 1: what it would have looked like, this kid just holding
- 2:33Speaker 1: this hair extension. Fuck. See, I can actually imagine it
- 2:37Speaker 1: because a similar thing happened to me. It wasn't a
- 2:39Speaker 1: baby ripping it out but my hair extension just fell
- 2:41Speaker 1: out of my head at Christmas lunch one day. Fortunately,
- 2:45Speaker 1: I caught it before anyone noticed and I had to
- 2:47Speaker 1: rush off to the bathroom and But that has forever
- 2:50Speaker 1: shaken me because I'm like, I don't know, there's something
- 2:52Speaker 1: just humiliating about people realising that you've got hair clipped
- 2:56Speaker 1: into your head despite the fact that I think I
- 2:58Speaker 1: heard on Bec Judd's podcast that like 90% of celebrities
- 3:02Speaker 1: wear hair extensions. Yeah, but it's supposed to be all
- 3:03Speaker 1: smoke and mirrors. You're never actually supposed to see it
- 3:05Speaker 1: out of someone's head. That is quite the shocking moment.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Reality is that this is someone's job. Events cost money.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Venues cost money. Marketing costs money. Planning costs money. And
- 3:18Speaker 3: time costs money. To then make this profitable, people need
- 3:24Speaker 3: to set a price to make it worth it for
- 3:27Speaker 3: them as well.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Sam Guggenheimer has backed out of her appearance at fellow
- 3:33Speaker 1: influencer Mia Langley's controversial masterclass. Last week, we discussed how
- 3:38Speaker 1: the pair faced intense backlash after charging $ 250 a ticket
- 3:42Speaker 1: to attend the course. Now, despite defending the pricing and
- 3:46Speaker 1: being the face of the masterclass, Sam withdrew the night before,
- 3:50Speaker 1: claiming she needed to look after her health. She uploaded
- 3:54Speaker 1: a photo of her lying on the couch with a
- 3:56Speaker 1: blanket on and wrote, I just wanted to quickly jump
- 3:58Speaker 1: on and say, I sadly won't be able to be
- 4:01Speaker 1: there at Mia Langley's event tomorrow. I have some issues
- 4:04Speaker 1: I need to get sorted before I go overseas and
- 4:06Speaker 1: I just need to look after my health at the moment.
- 4:09Speaker 1: She is going to be amazing and I'm so proud
- 4:11Speaker 1: of her for still showing up through all of this.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Hope you all understand. I'm sorry, Mia.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I love you.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I mean, talk about leaving your friend high and dry.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Do you think that this was a case, Kate, of
- 4:22Speaker 1: jumping off a sinking ship? Oh, definitely. Particularly because she
- 4:25Speaker 1: went about her day as normal. I mean, she shared
- 4:27Speaker 1: vision of her getting a skin consult at Mecca and
- 4:31Speaker 1: she took her cat to the vet. I mean, I
- 4:33Speaker 1: do understand that influencers often show their highlight reels, not
- 4:37Speaker 1: that any of these two particular tasks were particularly interesting.
- 4:41Speaker 1: And okay, I'm guessing that there is more going on
- 4:43Speaker 1: behind the scenes. I do think that Sam's mental health
- 4:46Speaker 1: has been impacted, particularly over the last couple of months.
- 4:50Speaker 1: But don't post what you've been up to that day
- 4:52Speaker 1: if you're meant to be at the masterclass. Yeah, that's
- 4:53Speaker 1: what I don't get. If I was saying, oh, sorry,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm going through some health stuff behind the scenes. That's
- 4:59Speaker 1: why I can't attend this event. I would have a
- 5:01Speaker 1: social media hiatus and not be on for at least
- 5:03Speaker 1: a couple of days. Like, was it that important to
- 5:06Speaker 1: share those very menial tasks that she was doing throughout
- 5:08Speaker 1: the day? I did notice in the photo she was
- 5:10Speaker 1: wearing like a blood pressure band. I don't know if
- 5:12Speaker 1: it was just for effect or what was actually going
- 5:15Speaker 1: on in the photo, but she must be okay because
- 5:17Speaker 1: she's just jetted off for a six-week trip to Europe
- 5:20Speaker 1: with her new boyfriend, Ryan Maloney. Now, we spoke about
- 5:23Speaker 1: him on the show a couple of weeks ago. He
- 5:26Speaker 1: is the son of millionaire parents. He's also been driving
- 5:29Speaker 1: Sam around in a Lamborghini. So he's a bit of
- 5:32Speaker 1: a rich boy, right? I get the vibe that Sam
- 5:35Speaker 1: pulled out of this masterclass because she didn't want the backlash,
- 5:39Speaker 1: which she knew was going to come from it, to
- 5:42Speaker 1: ruin her holiday, basically. Yeah, I think she's on high
- 5:45Speaker 1: alert because whatever she does, she gets criticism for. And
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think going on this extravagant holiday to Europe, is
- 5:52Speaker 1: going to ruffle her followers' feathers. I mean, let's be honest,
- 5:54Speaker 1: who wouldn't be jealous of this trip? I noticed in
- 5:57Speaker 1: this video Mia made an appearance, so she was seen
- 6:00Speaker 1: waving Sam off. I think this was so Sam could
- 6:02Speaker 1: show that there's supposedly no bad blood between them over
- 6:05Speaker 1: this event.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Do we believe it?
- 6:07Speaker 1: No, I don't believe for a second that they're still
- 6:09Speaker 1: going to be friends after this. I mean, Sam has
- 6:12Speaker 1: had some very public friendship fallouts. I mean, Mia might
- 6:15Speaker 1: be pretending like she's okay, but the second that Sam
- 6:19Speaker 1: is away for six weeks in Europe, That's when the
- 6:21Speaker 1: bitching is going to start. That's when the friendship is
- 6:23Speaker 1: going to start crumbling because she literally left Mia out there.
- 6:28Speaker 1: She hung her out to dry, essentially. I mean, I'm
- 6:30Speaker 1: surprised she did it considering, as you said, she's had
- 6:33Speaker 1: a lot of friendship breakdowns. It doesn't really paint her
- 6:35Speaker 1: as a very good friend. And I want to give
- 6:37Speaker 1: Mia Langley credit because despite all the backlash, she fronted
- 6:40Speaker 1: up on Monday to this social media course and she
- 6:43Speaker 1: admitted on TikTok that after the event that it took
- 6:46Speaker 1: all her strength to show up and not cancel it.
- 6:49Speaker 2: She said that every bit.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Of her wanted to cancel the course, but she went
- 6:53Speaker 1: ahead with it to show up for her community. I
- 6:56Speaker 1: hate to say it, but it didn't look like many
- 6:58Speaker 1: people ended up purchasing a ticket. Judging from the photos,
- 7:02Speaker 1: there were about 25 people there. And I think the
- 7:04Speaker 1: majority of them were Mia's friends because I noticed a
- 7:08Speaker 1: lot of them shared photos after the event and all
- 7:11Speaker 1: of their handles seem to include the word hair in it.
- 7:14Speaker 2: So Mia's a hairdresser.
- 7:15Speaker 1: She does lots of hairdressing classes and it seems like
- 7:18Speaker 1: the hairdressing community really got around her for it. Not
- 7:21Speaker 1: necessarily because she obviously targets her hair masterclasses to people
- 7:26Speaker 1: interested in hair. So I suppose that would be her
- 7:29Speaker 1: key following, but they were really pumping her tires. It
- 7:31Speaker 1: was like she had told them to make these posts
- 7:34Speaker 1: about why the class was so fantastic. Well, clearly they
- 7:37Speaker 1: weren't Sam's followers. It seemed like her appearing at this
- 7:41Speaker 1: event didn't really drive ticket sales up at all. I mean,
- 7:44Speaker 1: clearly this is why Sam pulled the pin early. She
- 7:47Speaker 1: didn't want to rock up to this event with only
- 7:49Speaker 1: 25 people there.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I mean, when we discussed the event last week, we.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Said, oh, could this be some sort of marketing genius
- 7:56Speaker 1: to get the event out there? You know, controversy creates
- 8:00Speaker 1: reach and maybe people who didn't know about the event
- 8:02Speaker 1: were like interested in going. It clearly didn't work. even
- 8:06Speaker 1: though they ended up dropping the ticket prices from $ 250
- 8:09Speaker 1: down to $ 50. They should have just made them free.
- 8:13Speaker 1: They should have gone out to the streets. Come on, everyone.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Come on, just to save face. Let's get a crowd
- 8:17Speaker 1: in here. Because really, you wouldn't have known otherwise. I'm
- 8:20Speaker 1: interested to see if Britt Saunders and Matt Hay ended
- 8:23Speaker 1: up zooming into the class like we spoke about last week.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I hope they give a bit of a debrief because
- 8:27Speaker 1: I'm desperate to know what was actually covered. I zoomed
- 8:30Speaker 1: into Mia's PowerPoint presentation and I felt for her because
- 8:34Speaker 1: it looked like they were having technical difficulties because it
- 8:37Speaker 1: wasn't even in presentation mode. I want to ask, does
- 8:40Speaker 1: PowerPoint ever work for anyone? Every time you do a presentation,
- 8:43Speaker 1: it seems to fuck up. It's so old school PowerPoint,
- 8:46Speaker 1: isn't it? The people still use that. I mean, there's
- 8:48Speaker 1: other alternatives, but you get what, you know what I mean?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Like the presentations never seem to work. I feel for
- 8:52Speaker 1: this poor girl. I mean, at least she's gone ahead
- 8:55Speaker 1: with it, put on a brave face. I mean, her
- 8:57Speaker 1: friends done the dirty on her, backed out, said, oh,
- 9:00Speaker 1: fuck this. Like, I think that's really poor. Yeah, because
- 9:03Speaker 1: clearly she's had to change the content of the class
- 9:06Speaker 1: last minute as well, because Sam was going to be
- 9:08Speaker 1: interviewed on it. There was probably going to be a
- 9:10Speaker 1: bit more back and forth between them. It's very different
- 9:13Speaker 1: to present something by yourself. It was quite funny. One
- 9:16Speaker 1: of the attendees who posted from the event wrote, quote
- 9:18Speaker 1: of the day, and this was obviously from Mia, we're
- 9:21Speaker 1: not all posting just because we think we're hot, sexy
- 9:23Speaker 1: and skinny. We love our job. I mean, some wise
- 9:26Speaker 1: words there. It's an absolute wise words to take on board.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I wonder if they dropped the ticket sales so dramatically
- 9:32Speaker 1: due to Sam dropping out because that was a real
- 9:35Speaker 1: selling point for a lot of the people attending. The
- 9:38Speaker 1: ticket prices were dropped to $ 50 four days before the
- 9:41Speaker 1: event and Sam dropped out the night before.
- 9:43Speaker 2: So I don't think so.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I got married yesterday. has tied the knot to fellow
- 9:51Speaker 1: influencer Max Krause in a modest ceremony in Wisconsin. The
- 9:55Speaker 1: OnlyFans creator was praised for the low-key celebration, but some
- 9:59Speaker 1: people were surprised by her wedding dress choice. Soph, if
- 10:02Speaker 1: I'm honest, this wasn't the wedding aesthetic I was expecting
- 10:06Speaker 1: from Michaela. No, not at all. I mean, to be
- 10:09Speaker 1: completely honest, when these photos popped up over the weekend,
- 10:12Speaker 1: I almost didn't recognize Michaela because she was very stripped back.
- 10:15Speaker 1: It The photos almost had an AI vibe to them.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I was like, are these real people in them? I mean,
- 10:25Speaker 1: Michaela also had no tan on, which is unusual for her.
- 10:28Speaker 1: We usually see her very done up. Her hair was
- 10:31Speaker 1: down and straight. So it wasn't really much of a typical,
- 10:34Speaker 1: you know, style for a wedding. And her dress was
- 10:37Speaker 1: not what I was expecting. I'm going to do my
- 10:39Speaker 1: best to describe it for those who haven't seen it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: It had very early noughties vibes to it. It's sort
- 10:44Speaker 1: of like a princess gown. There was a large skirt underneath.
- 10:47Speaker 1: She had spaghetti straps, which were very Kath and Kim.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I remember them always going on about the spaghetti straps.
- 10:53Speaker 1: There was also this leaf detailing on the gown. She
- 10:57Speaker 1: also had a very simple bunch of colourful flowers. The
- 11:00Speaker 1: gown matched the overall wedding aesthetic, though, because as you said,
- 11:03Speaker 1: it was very simple. They got married at Max's family property,
- 11:07Speaker 1: so it was like an open sort of field. They
- 11:09Speaker 1: had hay bales on either side of this arch with
- 11:12Speaker 1: fake white.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Flowers on it.
- 11:14Speaker 1: The other thing that really threw me about this wedding
- 11:16Speaker 1: announcement was was the formatting of the photos. Now that
- 11:19Speaker 1: might sound silly, but they were uploaded as landscape images.
- 11:23Speaker 1: They were really wide because I went to immediately screenshot
- 11:27Speaker 1: these photos to share to Outspoken and I'm like, why
- 11:29Speaker 1: the fuck did they share them like this? Like it
- 11:31Speaker 1: looked terrible. It's clear that they didn't have a professional
- 11:34Speaker 1: photographer and maybe one of the Boomer relatives was making
- 11:37Speaker 1: the photos. And it all became clear what was actually
- 11:40Speaker 1: going on because a few days after sharing the photos
- 11:43Speaker 1: on social media, all was revealed. So it turns out
- 11:46Speaker 1: it was just Michaela and Max's legal wedding and they
- 11:49Speaker 1: are going to be having an official wedding at a
- 11:51Speaker 1: later date. So Michaela explained that they had to go
- 11:54Speaker 1: through with the wedding within 90 days of her arriving
- 11:57Speaker 1: in the US because she's on a K-1 fiancé visa. Now,
- 12:00Speaker 1: this visa probably sounds familiar to listeners because it's the
- 12:04Speaker 1: one made famous by the reality show 90 Day Fiance.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Everyone's been saying on TikTok that they wish Michaela and
- 12:11Speaker 1: Max could have appeared on the reality show and how
- 12:14Speaker 1: funny that would have been. Well, I think that they
- 12:16Speaker 1: wouldn't get the call up because it's obvious they are
- 12:19Speaker 1: a genuine couple and they're very much in love. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 1: and it's so nice to actually see them get married
- 12:24Speaker 1: because initially when they got engaged- There were concerns that
- 12:27Speaker 1: Michaela may not be able to go to the US,
- 12:29Speaker 1: which is where Max is from, because the last two
- 12:32Speaker 1: times she tried to enter the US, she was actually
- 12:34Speaker 1: detained and deported by officials. So it was a really
- 12:38Speaker 1: anxious wait when they actually arrived in the country. Michaela
- 12:41Speaker 1: said that there was this female officer who was really
- 12:44Speaker 1: rude to her until Max came over. And she wasn't
- 12:47Speaker 1: sure if it was the max effect or if it
- 12:49Speaker 1: was because she had every single bit of documentation, but
- 12:52Speaker 1: she finally got into the US. How nerve wracking would
- 12:55Speaker 1: have that flight been? I mean, it's such a long
- 12:57Speaker 1: flight to have to sit through as well. Now, Michaela
- 13:00Speaker 1: did admit that holding the ceremony was a spare of
- 13:03Speaker 1: the moment decision that they only planned the night before.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So it does explain the aesthetics of the wedding. So
- 13:09Speaker 1: Max ordered all the decorations on Amazon the night before.
- 13:12Speaker 1: They're pretty lucky that it rocked up. I mean, Amazon's
- 13:14Speaker 1: delivery is quite good. And they set everything up on
- 13:17Speaker 1: his family's property themselves. As for the wedding dress, it
- 13:21Speaker 1: was actually Max's mother's gown from 26 years ago. So
- 13:25Speaker 1: I'm going to say I was bang on with saying
- 13:27Speaker 1: it was Naughty's Vibes. It made so much more sense
- 13:29Speaker 1: because the dress also didn't really look like it fit
- 13:32Speaker 1: that well. I mean, it fit well considering that she
- 13:34Speaker 1: picked it out of her mother-in-law's closet and was able
- 13:37Speaker 1: to put it on.
- 13:38Speaker 2: But the straps weren't sitting like it was made for her,
- 13:40Speaker 2: were they?
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and I was so thrown seeing this dress because
- 13:44Speaker 1: I would assume she would be wearing this very figure-hugging,
- 13:47Speaker 1: glamorous gown.
- 13:48Speaker 2: So I'm very excited.
- 13:49Speaker 1: To hear that this is just an official sort of
- 13:52Speaker 1: civil ceremony and we are going to be getting a bigger,
- 13:55Speaker 1: more grand wedding soon. Now, it was quite cute too
- 13:58Speaker 1: because they revealed that they actually collected Michaela's bouquet of
- 14:01Speaker 1: flowers from the property. So they showed them picking all
- 14:04Speaker 1: the flowers. They did a great job with it. It
- 14:06Speaker 1: looks beautiful. A lot of followers initially loved the fact
- 14:09Speaker 1: that they had such a low-key wedding and they were
- 14:11Speaker 1: overwhelmed with happiness for Michaela. One wrote, you finally got
- 14:14Speaker 1: your happily ever after. No one deserves this more than you.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Another said, I've never been so parasocial. Congrats. Now, when
- 14:23Speaker 1: we shared these photos on our Instagram, A lot of
- 14:26Speaker 1: listeners like us were initially surprised by how stripped back
- 14:28Speaker 1: this wedding was. One wrote, this is so refreshing. It's
- 14:31Speaker 1: about the marriage and love, not the aesthetics. Whilst another said,
- 14:35Speaker 1: this is dot, dot, dot, not at all what I expected.
- 14:39Speaker 1: This is the cynic in me, but do you think
- 14:41Speaker 1: Michaela and Max sat down and went, do you know
- 14:43Speaker 1: what would do really well on social media? If we
- 14:46Speaker 1: stage this backyard wedding, you wear my mom's wedding dress,
- 14:49Speaker 1: we'll do it really low key. And it's going to
- 14:51Speaker 1: get everyone talking because if she just posted your regular
- 14:54Speaker 1: glamorous shot, people would have been excited, but there wouldn't
- 14:58Speaker 1: have been all the commentary around it.
- 14:59Speaker 2: It's a little bit like what Lily Brown did.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I mean, these women know how to play the algorithm
- 15:04Speaker 1: and they do it so well. I definitely think that
- 15:06Speaker 1: that would have been factored into it. They wanted to
- 15:10Speaker 1: make it appear that this was going to be the
- 15:11Speaker 1: only wedding so that they could get maximum engagement from it.
- 15:14Speaker 1: That being said, I think that their true love story
- 15:17Speaker 1: really did shine through in it though, because it just
- 15:20Speaker 1: seemed very cute.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Like my story views have skyrocketed.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Sky Wheatley has all but confirmed that she has split
- 15:28Speaker 1: again from her baby daddy, Lockie Waugh. Last week, she
- 15:32Speaker 1: sent the rumor mill into overdrive when she revealed she
- 15:34Speaker 1: was living back at her mom's house. Now, over the weekend, Kate,
- 15:38Speaker 1: she tackled the rumors head on. Yeah, so during a
- 15:41Speaker 1: haul on her Instagram story, she admitted that she knew
- 15:44Speaker 1: everyone was watching to hear about what was going on
- 15:46Speaker 1: with her and Lockie. She said she'd noticed that her
- 15:49Speaker 1: story views had skyrocketed since she started dropping clues about
- 15:52Speaker 1: the breakup. Now, she said she would eventually share when
- 15:55Speaker 1: it felt right, but didn't want to crash out again
- 15:57Speaker 1: for the 100th time that week. Despite saying she wouldn't
- 16:00Speaker 1: provide further details, it felt like she couldn't help herself
- 16:03Speaker 1: because she ended up dropping more details when she complained
- 16:07Speaker 1: about a rude DM she received from a follower who
- 16:10Speaker 1: accused her of never spending time with her children.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Let's take a listen.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I just thought it was really rude.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I'm like, you obviously have no idea what's going on
- 16:19Speaker 4: in my personal life.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You have no idea.
- 16:22Speaker 5: That I'm doing the best for my children and like
- 16:26Speaker 5: obviously me and their dad.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Want to do the best for them and that's all
- 16:32Speaker 4: we want right now so that's that that's all I'll
- 16:36Speaker 4: say about that like I love my children I would
- 16:40Speaker 4: die for my children and I want my children to
- 16:42Speaker 4: look at me and be like mum made a great
- 16:45Speaker 4: choice dad made a great choice like I want them
- 16:49Speaker 4: to know love I want them to know how to
- 16:53Speaker 4: treat people and how to respect others.
- 16:55Speaker 1: And, you know, if it's not, they just, they.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Just need to be in a really calm, happy environment.
- 17:03Speaker 5: And we're out here doing our best, but it's like,
- 17:05Speaker 5: I would never judge another mom ever.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Based on what Skye said and reading between the lines,
- 17:13Speaker 1: it sounds like she and Lockie are splitting their time
- 17:16Speaker 1: between living in their house with their kids. So I
- 17:18Speaker 1: think Skye must be part-time with her mum and then
- 17:20Speaker 1: part-time back at her house. I think that's what they
- 17:23Speaker 1: did last time as well. I mean, that does seem
- 17:25Speaker 1: to be a good arrangement for the kids because they
- 17:27Speaker 1: then don't get thrown out of their normal routines and
- 17:30Speaker 1: their day-to-day lives, particularly because things do seem to change
- 17:35Speaker 1: very quickly between Skye and Mocky. They seem to change
- 17:37Speaker 1: their mind all the time. They might be trialling a
- 17:39Speaker 1: separation again. I mean, it was only five months ago
- 17:42Speaker 1: that they announced they were back together after another very
- 17:45Speaker 1: public breakup.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Late last year.
- 17:47Speaker 1: As you touched on, it's been a real pattern of behaviour.
- 17:50Speaker 1: So I'm hoping that they work things out again, but
- 17:53Speaker 1: it seems like something big has got to change. It
- 17:55Speaker 1: makes me sad because I love them as a couple together.
- 17:57Speaker 1: They're just chaotic. My heart can't deal with it at
- 18:00Speaker 1: the moment because Mitch Orville has also essentially confirmed his
- 18:04Speaker 1: breakup with Chloe Zepp. So this week he opened up
- 18:07Speaker 1: about how difficult it's been no longer being a full-time dad.
- 18:12Speaker 1: So on Instagram, he wrote, it takes a special sort
- 18:14Speaker 1: of resilience to go from a full-time dad to a
- 18:16Speaker 1: part-time dad. If you've been through this and come out
- 18:19Speaker 1: the other side, I respect you. Oh, that's so sad.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I think that they've been sort of drip feeding this
- 18:26Speaker 1: breakup for a while now. There's been no official statement.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I mean, this really spells it out though. Oh, definitely.
- 18:33Speaker 1: But I mean, they haven't actually commented on... why they've
- 18:36Speaker 1: broken up. Like I want a full on, I mean,
- 18:39Speaker 1: I want an old school YouTube video where they both
- 18:41Speaker 1: jump on, they talk about what happened.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Remember they did that breakup video together? Oh yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I mean, I'd even be happy with a black tile
- 18:49Speaker 1: with some white writing on it at this point. Do
- 18:51Speaker 1: you reckon that they kind of both don't know what's happening?
- 18:55Speaker 1: So even though they've released bits of information here and there,
- 18:59Speaker 1: they don't necessarily want to confirm it in case they
- 19:01Speaker 1: do get back together? I mean, considering they have two
- 19:04Speaker 1: children involved, it makes a lot more sense. I mean,
- 19:06Speaker 1: you know, that YouTube breakup announcement you were talking about,
- 19:09Speaker 1: that was pre-children and that was in their peak of
- 19:12Speaker 1: their YouTube fame. It's clear that Mitch wants to get
- 19:16Speaker 1: back with Chloe. And I mean, judging by the things
- 19:20Speaker 1: that he's been posting, I mean, earlier in the week,
- 19:22Speaker 1: he also gave an insight into how he was feeling.
- 19:25Speaker 1: He wrote, give a man pleasure and he will forget
- 19:27Speaker 1: his goal. Give a man pain and heartbreak and he
- 19:29Speaker 1: feels like conquering the world. Hard times are blessings, not
- 19:33Speaker 1: a curse. I mean, I can actually see them getting
- 19:38Speaker 1: back together though. I feel like maybe behind the scenes,
- 19:40Speaker 1: Mitch is working in overdrive to win Chloe back. I mean,
- 19:43Speaker 1: both of these couples, Sky Wheatley and Lockie Waugh and
- 19:46Speaker 1: Chloe Zepp and Mitch Orville, they have a pattern of
- 19:49Speaker 1: breaking up and getting back together. Maybe they need to
- 19:51Speaker 1: do some more ads with that marriage counsellor because at
- 19:54Speaker 1: the start of the year, things seem to be going well.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Could this be a huge strategic marketing campaign? No, I
- 20:01Speaker 1: don't think so.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I don't think it is.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Let's get into what's blowing up our group chat. And
- 20:07Speaker 1: I have to kick things off with Tammy Hembrough's notebook
- 20:10Speaker 1: moment with Grayson Timoana, who is, of course, her latest boyfriend.
- 20:15Speaker 1: And I'm cringing, cringing hard at this moment. It was
- 20:19Speaker 1: on TikTok. Basically, they were on this little staycay together
- 20:23Speaker 1: and they stumbled.
- 20:24Speaker 2: They were glamping.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Glamping, sorry. And they stumbled across a boat on a
- 20:28Speaker 1: lake and they decided to take it for a spin,
- 20:30Speaker 1: very reminiscent of the notebook moment. And I just felt
- 20:33Speaker 1: like saying, Do you realise that no one ships this relationship?
- 20:36Speaker 1: Like everyone kind of thinks this is a bit juvenile.
- 20:39Speaker 2: There were a couple of ones deep as well.
- 20:40Speaker 1: You could tell. It was a bit tragic because there
- 20:43Speaker 1: was this scene where Tammy was like miming into her
- 20:47Speaker 1: phone and she panned over to Grayson and someone actually
- 20:49Speaker 1: screenshotted it and posted it in the comments but he
- 20:51Speaker 1: looked so unimpressed. I mean he has commented previously that
- 20:55Speaker 1: he gives off really bad body language and he doesn't
- 20:58Speaker 1: know why and it's like, mate, we can read it.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We know what's happening. Is this the unravelling of Tammy Hembrough?
- 21:05Speaker 1: It seems like she's having a bit of a moment.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I mean, in our influencer predictions for 2026, we predicted
- 21:12Speaker 1: this was the year of the Tammy Hembrough cancellation. I
- 21:16Speaker 1: think her relationship with Grayson has not been a popular
- 21:19Speaker 1: move and it's not really good for her branding. She's had,
- 21:23Speaker 1: you know, her business has shut down as well. It
- 21:25Speaker 1: just seems like things aren't going as well as they usually.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Do for her.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I mean, surely Matt Zukowski would be absolutely stoked with
- 21:32Speaker 1: some of the recent videos that have popped up of Tammy.
- 21:35Speaker 1: He would just be loving it because he looks like
- 21:36Speaker 1: he's living a very wholesome life in Melbourne at the
- 21:39Speaker 1: moment with his golden retriever and his little movie reviews.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Like they look like they're worlds apart at the moment.
- 21:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I mean, you can tell they are very different people.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I want to move on to something a bit more exciting.
- 21:50Speaker 1: So I have been spamming our group chat. With Hilary
- 21:53Speaker 1: Duff's opening night performances of her tour, I could not
- 21:57Speaker 1: be more excited. We're going to her Melbourne show in October.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I'm counting down the days. You know how everyone dressed
- 22:05Speaker 1: up for the Eras tour? I reckon people need to
- 22:09Speaker 1: start getting behind Hilary and dressing up as her different eras.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I mean, you've got Lizzie McGuire, you've got her dating,
- 22:16Speaker 1: her era where she dated Joel Madden. She went a
- 22:19Speaker 1: bit punky, didn't she? A bit goth, yeah. Then you've
- 22:22Speaker 1: got her beat of my heart, sort of a bit
- 22:24Speaker 1: more of a Kylie sort of pop girl moment. You've
- 22:28Speaker 1: got them all. She had a blue wig in the
- 22:30Speaker 1: Sparks Fly film clip. There are so many looks that
- 22:32Speaker 1: you can do.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I'm going to start.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Working on mine now because I feel like my outfit
- 22:35Speaker 1: for the Ears Tour was really disappointing because I was
- 22:37Speaker 1: 20 weeks pregnant and I was like, oh. I don't
- 22:40Speaker 1: feel like I can do anything that cool. The other
- 22:42Speaker 1: thing that I have learned from the Ears Tour though
- 22:44Speaker 1: is that you still want to be comfortable because I
- 22:46Speaker 1: wore a sequined dress. It was one of yours. Again,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I wasn't really pleased with my outfit. I had ordered
- 22:51Speaker 1: something off Amazon that arrived and it looked crap. So
- 22:55Speaker 1: I had to sort of have a bit of a
- 22:56Speaker 1: panic option. And by the end of the night- I
- 23:00Speaker 1: was just over the cowboy boots. We had to walk
- 23:03Speaker 1: miles back to a spot we could be picked up
- 23:06Speaker 1: by an Uber. And I was sharing a room with
- 23:08Speaker 1: our best friend and I literally had to yank the
- 23:11Speaker 1: fucking boot off her foot at the end of the night.
- 23:12Speaker 1: They were stuck on. So maybe some more appropriate footwear
- 23:16Speaker 1: for the Hilary Duff tour. I mean, the room will
- 23:18Speaker 1: be full of millennials who will want to be comfortable.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I was very impressed by the set list as well.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I am so excited to hear Anywhere But Here. That
- 23:26Speaker 1: was one of my favourite songs from Metamorphosis and I'm
- 23:28Speaker 1: so surprised she's actually singing it on tour. I didn't
- 23:31Speaker 1: expect it. I'm most excited for Wake Up, I think.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Really?
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yeah. I love that song. This is a really embarrassing admission,
- 23:38Speaker 1: but in year 12, one of my major art pieces
- 23:40Speaker 1: was basically a shrine to Hilary Duff. I made this.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It was supposed to be one of those mirrors with
- 23:46Speaker 1: the light bulbs around it and then in the mirror
- 23:49Speaker 1: there were all these drawings that I'd done of her.
- 23:51Speaker 1: It was fucking tragic. And I also- It was really
- 23:54Speaker 1: good though. Thank you. I have to share, I've got
- 23:56Speaker 1: a photo, but it's so pixelated. I think mum and
- 23:59Speaker 1: dad actually threw that out. Oh, really? Yeah, I'll have
- 24:02Speaker 1: to see if it's in their shed. If it is,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I'll take a better photo. But anyway, I had written
- 24:06Speaker 1: out the lyrics to Wake Up and it said, there's
- 24:09Speaker 1: people talking, they talk about you, they know your name,
- 24:11Speaker 1: they think they know everything. And I was going through
- 24:14Speaker 1: a bit of a sad stage at the start of
- 24:16Speaker 1: year 12 with friendship stuff. Anyway, my mum found the
- 24:19Speaker 1: piece of paper that I'd written and she's like, did
- 24:21Speaker 1: you write that? That's lovely.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Are you going through something?
- 24:25Speaker 1: And I was like, no, I didn't write it.
- 24:27Speaker 2: It's part of my favorite song, Wake Up. Well, I'm
- 24:30Speaker 2: very excited for you to be able to see that live.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I'll be in my feels. I'll be in my feels
- 24:34Speaker 1: during that one. Now, the next thing that has been
- 24:36Speaker 1: flooding our outspoken Instagram inbox is the fact that Shameless
- 24:40Speaker 1: Media announced yesterday that it's acquired a multi-year partnership with
- 24:44Speaker 1: Steph Clare Smith and Laura Henshaw's podcast, Kick Pod and
- 24:48Speaker 1: Kick Bump.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I was shocked when I saw that news break.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, the podcast used to be represented by
- 24:55Speaker 1: Australia's largest podcast network, which is Listener, and they have
- 24:59Speaker 1: been with the Kit Girls since 2022. So four years now.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I mean, it makes sense that Shameless Media are now
- 25:06Speaker 1: acquiring established shows to appear on their network. For the
- 25:10Speaker 1: last couple of years, they've been creating their own shows.
- 25:13Speaker 1: But Zara and Michelle have both said in order to
- 25:16Speaker 1: continue to grow at the pace that they want, they're
- 25:18Speaker 1: going to have to start taking on shows that already
- 25:20Speaker 1: have established communities. I think the Kickpot and Kickbump are
- 25:24Speaker 1: a great get for them. I mean, they bring across
- 25:27Speaker 1: Kick's massive community. There was a little bit of confusion
- 25:29Speaker 1: because last year, Shameless announced that they were set to
- 25:32Speaker 1: release a parenting podcast, but one that Zara and Michelle
- 25:36Speaker 1: wouldn't be hosting. So they put a bit of a
- 25:40Speaker 1: call out for new hosts and people were like, oh,
- 25:43Speaker 1: is it the Kickbump? Is that the new parenting podcast
- 25:46Speaker 1: that you guys are doing? They have confirmed it's not.
- 25:48Speaker 1: There is going to be another parenting podcast on their network.
- 25:51Speaker 1: But it kind of makes sense if you think from
- 25:53Speaker 1: a sponsorship perspective. There's no point of them seeking parenting
- 25:58Speaker 1: adverts for just one podcast. They may as well bundle
- 26:01Speaker 1: it up and give it to both of the podcasts.
- 26:03Speaker 1: I mean, that's what the large networks are doing these days.
- 26:06Speaker 1: From a revenue perspective, Shameless recently announced that they command 10%
- 26:11Speaker 1: of Australia's total podcast revenue. So they've obviously got an
- 26:14Speaker 1: extremely good team. that are able to get their show's ads.
- 26:19Speaker 1: It'll be really interesting to see how that trajectory continues
- 26:23Speaker 1: when they have more podcasts to fulfill. I don't think
- 26:26Speaker 1: they'll have any issues because when you look at them
- 26:29Speaker 1: as a network, they are specialists in podcasting, whereas other
- 26:33Speaker 1: networks come from radio backgrounds. So a lot of them
- 26:37Speaker 1: have old school radio teams on board that are used
- 26:39Speaker 1: to selling ads for radio, but not so much for podcasts.
- 26:43Speaker 1: So I think that really sets Shameless Media out from
- 26:47Speaker 1: the pack. I'm really interested to see if this new
- 26:51Speaker 1: acquisition means that Shameless will actually be producing this podcast
- 26:55Speaker 1: as well, or whether they won't actually have control around
- 26:59Speaker 1: the creative of this podcast. Because when you do sign
- 27:01Speaker 1: up to a podcast network, there is the option if
- 27:04Speaker 1: you want help to produce it, the network then takes
- 27:08Speaker 1: a bigger fee of your sponsorships. Or if you want
- 27:11Speaker 1: to have creative control, they then take a smaller portion
- 27:15Speaker 1: of the sponsorships. Well, Zara and Michelle have come out
- 27:17Speaker 1: and said it's going to be a really different chapter
- 27:20Speaker 1: for the Kick Bump and Kick Pod podcast. So I
- 27:24Speaker 1: definitely think they're going to sink their teeth into it
- 27:26Speaker 1: and change the format. I'm excited to see what they
- 27:29Speaker 1: do because we've discussed on the show before how when
- 27:33Speaker 1: Steph and Laura signed up to Listener, that the podcast
- 27:36Speaker 1: really changed. It went down a route of I'd say
- 27:39Speaker 1: sort of like an original call her daddy-esque thing where
- 27:43Speaker 1: Steph and Laura spoke a lot about their sex lives
- 27:45Speaker 1: and we were saying how it seemed very off-brand. It
- 27:48Speaker 1: didn't really seem authentic to them. So I'm interested to
- 27:51Speaker 1: see what Zara and Michelle think their strategy should be
- 27:54Speaker 1: moving forward. Well, I also feel like it had a
- 27:57Speaker 1: real radio vibe to it as well with sort of
- 28:00Speaker 1: sharing these funny stories and then listeners would share their
- 28:03Speaker 1: own stories as well. I mean, we have had a
- 28:07Speaker 1: few criticisms of the program over its time, but I
- 28:11Speaker 1: do actually really enjoy it. Like I enjoy hearing Steph
- 28:15Speaker 1: and Laura's stories about their personal lives. That's what I
- 28:18Speaker 1: want to hear more of. The one thing I would
- 28:20Speaker 1: do if I was producing this podcast is to tell
- 28:23Speaker 1: Laura in the nicest possible way, because she seems like
- 28:25Speaker 1: an absolute sweetheart, to stop having so many disclaimers when
- 28:28Speaker 1: she speaks and to not be scared to give her opinion.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Because I find when Laura gives her honest opinion, I
- 28:34Speaker 1: love it. I'm like, wow, I a hundred percent agree
- 28:36Speaker 1: with you. Like I think behind closed doors, she would
- 28:39Speaker 1: be an absolute, I don't want to say ruthless, but
- 28:41Speaker 1: she's probably a bit of a, she'd be great in business.
- 28:43Speaker 1: She'd be probably quite direct, but I feel like when
- 28:46Speaker 1: she's public facing, she suddenly becomes, I don't want to
- 28:50Speaker 1: offend anyone. I have to give this disclaimer here and there.
- 28:52Speaker 1: And it's really difficult to follow a story that she's telling.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I think it's a hangover from 2020 where anything you
- 28:58Speaker 1: said could be cancelled. We have to wait until September
- 29:01Speaker 1: when the new Kik podcasts are being relaunched under the
- 29:04Speaker 1: Shameless banner.
- 29:04Speaker 2: So I'm very excited.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I feel like there was a bit of a clue
- 29:07Speaker 1: that something was going on because they recently changed where
- 29:10Speaker 1: they were filming. They used to film in listener and
- 29:13Speaker 1: then suddenly they were in this brand new set.
- 29:16Speaker 5: So.
- 29:17Speaker 1: It'd be interesting to see if they continue filming in
- 29:19Speaker 1: the new set, whether that is something that Shameless has
- 29:22Speaker 1: set up for them. I saw some other.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Stat that Shameless have increased.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Their audience by something like 30 or 40% in the
- 29:29Speaker 1: last six months. And they actually put that down to
- 29:32Speaker 1: the fact that they've been uploading full episodes to YouTube.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So obviously that is a part of their strategy for
- 29:38Speaker 1: all of their shows. I mean, they're absolutely incredible. It's
- 29:40Speaker 1: inspiring to see what they've created. It does also put
- 29:43Speaker 1: a new spin on what they said in, I think
- 29:47Speaker 1: it was a New Year's episode that they basically set
- 29:49Speaker 1: out this year to destroy the competition. Now, I wonder
- 29:52Speaker 1: if that is in reference to Mamma Mia, who have
- 29:55Speaker 1: also been setting up a podcast net. Well, I mean,
- 29:57Speaker 1: they have their own established podcast network, but within recent years,
- 30:00Speaker 1: they've also been acquiring other shows. So it does put
- 30:03Speaker 1: a bit of a new spin on it. I wonder
- 30:05Speaker 1: if Listener is shaking in their boots a little bit
- 30:07Speaker 1: because they've sort of become the podcast network for the
- 30:11Speaker 1: big influencers. They have a lot of high profile women
- 30:14Speaker 1: on their network. So I wonder if we're going to
- 30:17Speaker 1: see a lot of big moves in the next.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Couple of months.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Just before we go, I thought I would reward listeners
- 30:22Speaker 1: who have stuck around for the whole show. with a
- 30:24Speaker 1: bit of a hot tip I've got. So I have
- 30:27Speaker 1: heard from a very reliable source that Lucy and Nikki
- 30:31Speaker 1: are coming to Adelaide for something very special. Adelaide is,
- 30:35Speaker 1: of course, our hometown. I'm so excited if this is true.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Adelaide needs this. We need some big names to start
- 30:41Speaker 1: coming back here because we keep getting snubbed all the
- 30:43Speaker 1: time over stuff. So I hope this one is true.
- 30:46Speaker 1: On that note, that is all we have time for today.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us for this episode.
- 30:51Speaker 1: If you have enjoyed it, could you please make sure
- 30:53Speaker 1: you are subscribed on Apple Podcast and also Spotify and
- 30:57Speaker 1: make sure you check out Wednesday's episode of The Mums Group.
- 31:00Speaker 1: This is one that will interest a lot of people.
- 31:02Speaker 1: You don't have to be a mum to listen to
- 31:04Speaker 1: this one. We discussed the controversy surrounding Molly Mae's white dress.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I mean, we obviously discussed.
